[N.O.V.A. Profile]
Name | ((Monica 'Nik' Graves))
Alias | Overcharge
Age | ((26))
Gender | Female
Appearance | ((
))
Notoriety | Unknown
Class/Level | Class 1/Red/Volatile
Abilities | --Energy Vampire: Overcharge has the superhuman ability to absorb and negate any energy which is directed at her. Her body converts this energy into stored potential energy and can release it on command. Overcharge is able to either expel it from herself in a blast or wave, as well as imbue the energy into objects, which expel it in a blast on contact. There is an upper limit to how much energy she can hold, as well as a time limit before the energy starts breaking down with some explosive side effects. Overclock is able to absorb all different types of energy, which have different effects as detailed below.
---Kinetic Energy: The most common and easiest type of energy for Overcharge to store, Kinetic energy is any physical force directed at her. After absorbing this energy, Overcharge is able to expel it in a concussive blast, essentially adding the power of whatever stored energy she has to her own attack.
---Heat Energy: Coming from fire usually, this type of energy allows Overcharge to expel blasts of intense heat. Any objects imbued with this energy also tend to pop like a firecracker.
---Electrical Energy: Most often found by tapping into live electrical systems, this energy allows Overcharge to send arcs of lightning towards her foes, though she has no control over the arcs after she releases them. Imbuing this energy into an object will turn it into an EMP
---Sonic Energy: This type of energy allows Overcharge to launch loud, ear-shattering attacks at her foes. While absorbing this energy, it also dampens any sound she makes.
---Photon Energy: Energy from light, essentially. Using this type of energy allows Overcharge to create bright, flashbang-type flashes, dazing opponents who look too closely.
((---Nuclear Energy: Though untested, Overcharge has the dormant ability to absorb nuclear energy. This would allow her to direct potent blasts of radiation, as well as turning imbued objects into tiny bombs.))
--Limited Invulnerability: Due to her ability to absorb energies directed at her, this has a side effect of completely nullifying any attack made against Overcharge. So long as she is aware of danger, her powers are active, and have even been known to stop bullets from harming her.
--Enhanced Stamina: By absorbing wasted energy when she walks or runs, Overcharge is able to go longer, and further distances than the average human.
[Gear]
Attire | Overcharge wears little in the way of an actual costume, seeming to prefer simple street clothes. She has been noted to prefer over-large hoodies and pants with many pockets, in addition to her trademark purple bandanna she uses to conceal her face.
((In civilian life, Nik wears clothing similar to her vigilante persona, wearing the same clothes several days in a row at times, though missing the bandanna.))
Armament/Equipment | Overcharge is most often seem with what appears to be a folding staff, similar to ones used by the visually impared community. It has likely been reinforced in some way, as she uses it as her primary weapon, striking her opponents with it after imbuing it with stored energy. Her boots as well, appear to have been reinforced in some way, likely utilizing steel or carbon toes, allowing her to deliver devastating kicks when her opponents get too close.
[Temperament & Lifestyle]
Affiliation | Independant

Personality/Habits | ((Costumed Personality: Overcharge is most at home when her face is behind a mask. She has been known to engage in banter, witty or otherwise, while pursuing villains; and is quite energetic in her pursuits. As a product of her recent past however, Overcharge has learned to make some hard moral choices. She believes that there are times when the best way to protect people from the evils of the world are to remove the source of the corruption wherever one can find it. She would like to say she takes no joy in these hard decisions, but when faced with certain elements of her past, she is forced to admit a certain level of sadistic satisfaction.
Civilian Personality: Nik is often cold upon her first meeting. She keeps very professional and businesslike, often not exchanging many words at all. Once she begins to warm up to a person however, another side of her comes out. Nik will begin smiling and joking more, engaging in conversation and sharing stories of her life. She doesn't have many people she would consider a friend, but those she does he would give her life for.))

Family |((Johan Graves (Father; Deceased)
Melissa Graves (Mother, Deceased)
Emma Graves (Sister, Alive) ))
Background | ((Monica was born into a poor immigrant family from Europe, who wanted nothing more than to see their girl become a famous American baseball player (Which is, of course, the American dream, and totally attainable in the 22nd century). Her life was dominated by the sport, from playing catch with her father in the back yard using stones when they couldn't afford a new ball, to joining a local little league team as soon as she was big enough. Nik's family had always been low on money, but her mother and father managed to scrape together everything Nik needed for the team. Unfortunately, it seemed Nik was doomed to a life of mediocre sports talent. She never really shone on the field, making a few nice plays and a good hit here or there, but not reaching the standards her parents hoped he would.
Nik's life changed for the first time at the age of 12. During one of the final baseball games of the season, she stood a bit too close to the plate in an ill-planned effort to hit the ball with more force. Her left hand was struck by the pitch, a fastball right to her knuckles, though Nik felt no pain. She soon forgot the incident however, until a week or two later, when her hand began to ache. Not able to afford a doctor, her parents looked at it, said it seemed fine, and wrapped it with soft cloth, to try and sooth the pain. Soon after, Nik's hand exploded in a flash of purple, the decaying energy from the baseball weeks prior finally taking its toll. The family was introduced to one of the other facets of the 'American Dream'; privatized healthcare. The bills from the hospitals, all the tests done, and getting even the cheapest prosthetic they could find all but bankrupted the family. Each parent was forced to take another job just to survive, and that was when Nik's life changed again.
Late one night, walking home from work in an attempt to save money on bus fare, Nik's mother was jumped by a group of muggers. Desperately trying to defend her hard-earned money, she fought back against her attackers, who decided it was easier to simply pull a knife. Nik got the news before leaving for school the next day; her mother had been killed. This sent the girl's father, Johan, into a spiraling depression, he barely ate or slept, and stopped talking to anybody at all. Nik did everything she could to help, but her father was left a broken shell of a man. Though Johan continued to work the bare minimum needed to provide for his broken family, soon after the younger Emma’s 18th birthday, Johan was found dead as well, this time of suicide. Soon after, Nik swore vengeance on the criminals of her city, vowing to use her newfound powers to destroy the people who had taken both her parents from her and ruined her life.))
