Alright a heads up I may not be able to finish my Cs for a few days. I can still reply to posts on my phone but my laptop's charger cable got ripped somehow so its not charging. Can't post without a charged computer.
I haven't RP'd in years at this point but I always said a Bleach fandom would be the one that claws me back. I'm not committing to joining at the moment but I'm making my sheet to see how it goes, I'm shooting for 9th division Captain if that's alright.

【Character Profile】
【Personality:】 Shion is a very quiet and reserved individual. She is slow to trust, but around those she is familiar with her mannerisms change to be much more vibrant and expressive. She finds joy in improving herself and helping others improve, making her a popular Lieutenant among many squads.
【Biography:】 An orphan who grew up in the Inuzuri district of South Rukongai, Shion learned from a young age the value of not fighting battles you can't win. With a powerful appetite due to her high Reiryoku level, she found herself often running away from much larger and stronger people whom she stole food from, resulting in a high mobility level. Her ability to make precise movements was also improved by her theft. One day after eating enough to have a full belly, she found herself trapped by several larger adults who wanted revenge on her. When one pounced, she accidentally used Flash Step in her desperation to escape, though she didn't realize this at the time. After that day, she spent much of her time practicing to figure out how she had managed to escape, eventually leading to her mastering some very basic Hohō. When she was older, she was caught using Flash Step by a patrolling Shinigami who recommended her to the Shinigami Academy to become a Soul Reaper herself.
Though her natural aptitude for Hohō and Zanjutsu were high, she spent much longer at the Academy than the average student due to a complete lack of Kido ability. This extra time there wound up sharpening her skills in every category except Kido, much to the chagrin of her teachers. She made no friends during her time at the Academy due to a combination of fear and resentment towards her due to her being from Inuzuri and her lack of communication skills. For much of her time there, she didn't speak a single word to other students, a pattern that grew from her past where speaking to the wrong person could result in death. She was only allowed to graduate by request of the Squad 5 Captain, who saw something in her potential.
Originally a member of Squad 5 after graduation from the Officer's Academy, Shion was renown for being the first on the scene when problems arose, even among Squad 5 which prided itself on its speedy activity. This led to both respect and resentment from the other members, especially when they learned of her complete lack of Kido ability. Due in large part to this split opinion of her, she remained unseated during her entire time in Squad 5, despite her skill in other areas. In spite of this, she enjoyed her time in the squad and had great respect for her Captain, especially since it was due to her that Shion was able to become a Shinigami in the first place. This made her betrayal of the Seireitei to join the Head Captain all the more painful. The squad split into those loyal to the Captain and those loyal to the Seireitei under the leadership of the squad's Lieutenant, where Shion found herself opposed to the Captain she admired. This schism led to her once again rarely speaking, something that has continued to this day.
After her distinguished service in the battles between the two sides, and due to her natural aptitude for speed and skill, she was selected to be the Squad 2 Lieutenant and part of the Stealth Force. It was during these battles that she mastered Shikai, and has since learned but had yet to master her Bankai.

The Squad Captain was the one who made it so that Shion could join the Gotei 13 instead of being stuck in the Shinigami Academy indefinitely. They knew each other for several years before the Captain betrayed the Seireitei and destroyed Shion's trust in her. Shion still feels mixed emotions about her to this day; anger and sadness at her betrayal but gratitude for all that she did for her.
【Skills and Capabilities】
【General Aptitude】
【Fighting Style:】 Shion fights by concealing her presence and striking decisively, running away when the odds are too far against her. She uses zanjutsu almost exclusively, only fighting with hakuda when absolutely necessary and she is incapable of fighting with kido. In fights where the opponent never lets down their guard, she has intense stamina that can outlast most enemies. She focuses strongly on counter attacks rather than forward attacks if sneak attacking is not an option. She is incredibly quick and agile with both her body and her zanpakuto.
【Masteries and Proficiencies】
【KidoPractitioner】
If it can even be called "practitioner" at her level, she has zero aptitude for kido and has a hard time even getting it to work well enough to fail, let alone use it correctly. As such, she's abandoned it entirely in both everyday life and battle.
【HakudaProficient】
She is capable of defeating most opponents in hand-to-hand combat, unless they are specialized in it. While she doesn't rely on it in battle, she will use it if the opportunity arises or there is no other option.
【HohōMaster】
She is one of the best at using Hohō in the entire Seireitei. She can cover vast distances in mere moments with very few steps. Her footwork in battle is also almost unmatched by those not Captain-level and even quite a few who are.
【ZanjutsuExpert】
Shion is incredibly skilled with her zanpakuto in both its sealed state and skikai. While she has a bankai, she is still learning to master it so she avoids using it in battle.

I've completed a list of skills that everyone can use for a quick reference and I'll be updating it in the future with some other skills such as barriers and such.
I've also given some previously un-numbered skills a number that I feel represents it's power. Some may notice the lack of some skills here and there, I've purposely left these out as they're rather specific to a certain character in the series and it'd make little to no sense to learn such a skill. Eventually once I can work out a decent system, people will be able to submit their own custom skills so we can fill out some area's a little more.
I shall get @HeMandaddy to edit this list into the OP whenever it's convenient for them to do so, enjoy~
Edit: Figured I’d clarify this here also. I’m aware a few of these skills are one hit kill skills and whilst in the Anime and Manga they were used in such a way, In the RP they won’t be one hitting people or more specifically other Roleplayers characters/High strength enemies. To use such a skill on someone will likely require wearing them down so it’d be able to properly land and even then only on enemies. Figured I’d make this obvious statement

【Character Profile】
【Personality:】Kagami is a kind hearted Shinigami who has been raised to be a proper hard-worker. He's obedient and reliable to the point that it's become a perk of his, however, he doesn't come off as strictly professional. He's friendly and lighthearted, although he can be shy and indecisive during social interactions, hiding quite a bit of his potential as a soldier and as a person. Having been excluded from the hardships a lot of people had to go through to get into the Seireitei, he views himself as inexperienced and afraid to do -or say-, something out of place. He treats other with respect and does his best to earn their recognition, even should the bond that ties them be one of mere work colleagues. This comes at the expense of sometimes being too naive and trusting, thus being deceived as a result.
His desire to be acknowledged serves as a method of self-gratification. He has no wishes of ever being the one who rules those below, nor does he want fame or riches. He actually doesn't like to be in the spotlight! Praise just seems to be what motivates him to move forward and feel content about the effort he invested in past actions. For the very same reason, he can get easily offended if his evaluation of his deeds does not match the way his peers see him, although it'd be rare for him to voice it. He's, after all, someone who dislikes conflict, be it at the battlefield or during a conversation.
But being honest, inexperienced and socially-awkward are not seen as negative traits by every single soul out there, those who decide to accompany Kagami in his struggle through life will find a loyal partner whose honesty and passionate devotion are qualities that are hard to find in this day and age.
【Biography:】Kagami Fuku was lucky enough to be born and raised under the wings of a lesser noble family, known for its riches. Having landed on the 'perfect comfort zone', he wouldn't have to worry about day-to-day survival like the residents of the Rukongai, nor would he ever find himself in the middle of a political conflict between houses. At the same time, however, his knowledge of such things became limited by the things he could and was allowed to read. He grew up as what Earthlings would call a normal kid surrounded by other kids who had been conditioned by the environment they were born in. As such, it was only natural that he'd have trouble fitting in. Most notably, while most other students at the Academy aspired to become Shinigami for specific reasons, be it a requisite to be accepted as an adult, a favor owed to someone else or simply the desire to protect Soul Society, Kagami joined the institution on a whim. Or initially, that's what he tried to do. While it was not necessary for him to undertake the usual entrance exam if he could afford a certain fee (and undertake an intensive training course), his pride urged him not to take the 'easy road home'. You see, while Kagami came from a family of aristocrats, both his mother and father were good people who passed their principles to him (In case you are wondering, a lucky lotto bill is what brought them their fortune). So he tried, and failed. He had no innate talent and his existence as a 'plus' had not been developed to the point required to be accepted. Other Nobles would at this point quit and instead choose to venture into the world of political warfare, where they could certainly do better than in any battlefield. However, Kagami somehow convinced himself of the idea that his peers would accept them if he managed to pass that test.
And so, his journey to became a Shinigami began. By the time he finally enrolled into the academy, Kagami was one of the youngest souls out there. This had nothing to do with talent or sheer luck, but rather the fact that most plusses didn't have the chance to nurture themselves and join as soon as he did. Those in the Rukongai saw this outcome as a pipe dream in their majority, and other nobles had to undergo previous training in other areas before even thinking of becoming a Shinigami. Both this alternatives usually breezed through the entrance test, yet Kagami failed it a whooping six times. In any case, the atmosphere in the academy was a rather hostile one, even between students. There was a clear distaste for those came from outside the walls of the Seireitei, and one was mostly forced to pick a side when an argument ensued. Being shy and submissive, Fuku ended up hanging out with those who came from the Rukongai. That's not to say that he was accepted into 'their ranks' just like that. Not everyone was a nice person, each side had plenty of scary people that weren't there to make friends. It was here that he realized that conflict was something that he didn't enjoy too much. Having second thoughts about becoming a full-fledged soul reaper, he found strength in how hard he had endured to get to that point and that it'd be wasted if he decided to quit right then and there.
Once he was allowed into the Gotei 13, he enlisted under the Fourth Division. His initial evaluation proved that he was not worthy of being a seated officer, but that was to be expected from the very start. That is not to say that his time as an unseated officer was not fruitful. No, in fact, it was during this time that grew the most. From the sidelines, he could study, learn and bring aid to those that needed it, without having to hurt anyone in the process. For a time, he was content with just that. But with each year that passed by, he became more aware with the storm brewing in his heart.
And then, it happened. Fire, blood and death all around him. And, from where he was standing, nothing could be done to bring forth a change in the right direction. Weak and powerless, the blade whispered to his ear, urging him to draw it out of its sheathe.

【Skills and Capabilities】
【General Aptitude】
【Fighting Style:】
Being young does not exactly mean Kagami is gifted in any way, in fact it would not be strange to think that a few third seats out there could give him a run for his money. More often than not, Fuku's opponent turns out to be stronger than him, forcing him to fight defensively until an opportunity to counter-attack arises. Hell, in times where overall power cannot be determined, Kagami just assumes his foe will have him cornered if he isn't careful. This leads to a style of fighting that's slow and cautious, without wasted movements but at the same time with a low offensive output. Rare are the cases where he overpowered his opponent right of the bat, perhaps unexistent. When fighting against clearly weaker opponents, such as unseated officers asking for a spar, Kagami will hold back considerably, give tips and go the extra mile for others to learn a thing or two. Though he'd be okay with losing on purpose if the trainee proved to do a superb job, his current position has an image to keep that doesn't allow him to do so. Hence, he sometimes feels guilty about 'one-shotting' people who were doing so well...
If something stands out is his sheer stamina and will-power. In a pure battle of attrition, Kagami is "sure to win", as his attacks and techniques are frugal and well-timed. He has shown multiple times that he can keep pushing his body after clear signs have been given that he had hit his limit. Top-notch physical fighters have taken note of this, and it's one of his outstanding traits in combat, if one can say he has any for his rank.
When it comes to Spiritual Presence, it's hard to say. He certainly has grown a lot this past century. He has an acceptable level of control over it, being able to proficiently adapt its potency and flow, but his shy and kind nature usually holds back his talent, showcasing it as poor and rather unfitting.
In combat, as long as it's not downright dirty, anything goes for Kagami. Kidou, Zanjutsu, Hakuda and Hoho, but also gadgets and the environment around him. Being on the losing side for years, he has learned that he needs everything in his repertoire if he wants to turn the table. Naturally, he favors Kidou and Zanjutsu over other methods of fighting as they provide the greatest number of utility in his arsenal, but isn't afraid to adapt to what the battle demands as it progresses. He's an average strategist who may over-think things sometimes, but does not throw his gut feeling aside, either.
【Masteries and Proficiencies】
【KidoMaster】
Kagami's forte is, hands down, Kidou. He's adept in the use of "Incantation abandonment", and knows how to properly employ "Double Destruction Chant" and "Spoken-After Incantation". Though he can be considered a Master, he has just begun exploring what this level of proficiency has to offer, having difficulty with higher level Kidou, to the point where he feels more comfortable fighting on par with someone with an "Expert" brand. Being pacifist in nature, he personally favors Bakudo over Hado, although it can be seen his true potential lies in Kaido, the healing Kido that the Fourth Division uses to treat the injuries of shinigami who have been hurt in battle. When it comes to seal and barriers, his talent is average and even Fuku admits he doesn't feel comfortable with their workings to develop his skills further.
【HakudaExpert】
To be honest, Kagami's aptitude with Hakuda comes mostly from a recurring string of spar losses that have both nurtured his spiritual force and granted him the experience to hold his own in combat when there is no sword at hand. Though, he's not unthinkable for him to use his free hand or feet to steal an advantage in combat, he'll rarely incorporate them into his attack pattern, instead using them to adjust his positioning or reach out to something that wouldn't be possible otherwise. Although it can be argued that Hoho comes hand in hand, Hakuda is by far the most instinctive and primal method of fighting Fuku knows, and his feats are mostly triggered by the desire of self-preservation and survival. If it came to technique and technique alone, shinigami with more in-depth training would always have the upper-hand.
【HohōProficient】
A lot of people like speed, and Kagami is no different. Unfortunately, it appears he is an inept when it comes to Flash Stepping. After decades of training, he has managed to achieve an acceptable level of Hoho, but abusing it is something reserved solely for do or die situations, as repetitive use of the technique cause him to become exhausted fast. Do not be fooled, however, as he is ultimately as fast as everyone else. His lack of finesse is what forces him to stop at ten when others can go as far as a hundred.
【ZanjutsuExpert】
A balance of power and discipline, Kagami is a not a pushover when it comes to sword-wielding. Granted, as a Lieutenant, he is often surrounded by monsters that make him look average in comparison, but those pitted against him would do well not to underestimate his skill. He does not own an original style, instead relying on those already developed by others. In a sense, this can make him predictable against an opponent with a broad knowledge, but can often surprise those who either work to master a single known style or break all boundaries to develop their own. Most notably, he has delved quite deep in the realm of zampakuto communication, and its rumored he's on the way of acquiring a young, fresh, final release.

【General Information】
【Hanshami】
~"Stay back. No one is allowed past this point."~
【Sealed State:】
【Inner World:】
【Description:】Stone steps that pierce through the forest and lead to a temple resting atop of the hill. The road forward is presented in a straightforward manner as it quickly becomes apparent that leaving the stairs to venture into the wild is an impossible feat, as an invisible force will keep anyone from doing so. Once one reaches the top of the stairs, they will find the gate of the temple being guarded by the Spirit of the Zampakuto. It's here where conversation and conflict occurs, and never has there been an opportunity where the wielder has been allowed to cross that final frontier. It is expected that the whole Spirit World, alongside its guardian, are a philosophical representation of the ordeals Kagami has faced, is facing and will face in the future.
【Personality:】Hanshami is a gatekeeper and he(?) takes his role very seriously. He is a mysterious individual that, in his base form, does not talk unless addressed, and acts in a hostile manner towards anyone who dares to make an attempt to cross the boundaries he is set to protect. Besides this, it is hard to pinpoint his real personality as he is an amalgam of memories that changes his appearance periodically to match people Kagami has met over the course of his life, impersonating them, or rather, the way his master perceives them, flawlessly. Although their relationship has progressed a considerable extent, to this day Kagami does not enjoy his trips to the spirit world, arguing that Hanshami beats too much around the bush with 'psychological torture' instead of simply telling a guy like him, who'd work smoothly with a mentor or a guide, what must be done from the get go.
【Shikai】
【~"Keep it from fading, Hanshami."~】
【Ability:】 Upon release, a trail of liquid akin to water will follow after every swing of the blade, emulating waves, foam included. This body of water will not be large enough to completely overwhelm another person, however it will be generated constantly so the user will never run out of it. For a few moments, the wielder can command the Zampakuto to manipulate this liquid, effectively turning into an extension of the weapon. In this way, it can be sent after foes as a projectile, strengthened to extend the blade's usual range or even be used as a makeshift shield. All of this initially leaves one to believe that Kagami's Zampakuto is an elemental-type, albeit not a really strong one. This change of state it's capable of is limited in its application and momentary at best -making good timing an absolute must-, and controlling the water present in the environment or in other techniques seem to be outside of its domain. The reason being, Hanshami's ability is not water manipulation, but the power to manifest a memory -a strong image within the user's mind- physically for a brief moment using water as a medium. When doing so, the water does not only acquire the desired shape but also the base trait of the pictured image. For instance, if the user draws a strong image of a hammer in their mind, the resulting figure will match the strength of the original. Needless to say, the accuracy of the replica depends heavily on the things the user has seen, recalls and is familiar with; and also the time and space the wielder is given to piece that image together.
【Kyōzō (鏡像 - Mirror Image)】The Zampakuto drastically increases water generation briefly and uses it to mold a copy of the user's own body that may last up to thirty seconds. This doppelganger can act independently, although it must remain relatively close to the user. It can perform any technique within the user's repertoire, but it does so at the cost of the wielder's spiritual energy reserves. This is often used for coordinated melee attacks, for Kidou Dual Casting or, occasionally, to fool opponents. If hit, the 'clone' is quickly reduced to a water puddle.
【Omoide Yokochō (思い出横丁 - Memory Lane)】Kagami's finishing combo move, a straightforward charge aimed at a single target. First, the user visualizes an 'imaginary path' that connects him to his opponent so that the distance that one needs to cover to reach the other is the least possible. Immediately, a 'water road' will materialize before the owner of the Zampakuto, ignoring all but the strongest seals, barriers and structures and allowing him to break through them even if it normally would be impossible. Finally, the user allows himself to be 'engulfed' by the waters Hanshami generates and, fueling them through strong memories, creates a 'jet burst' effect that propels the user forward with insane speed and force, drastically enhancing offensive potential. Kagami uses Memory Lane in conjunction with 'Echo', to increase his performance even further. A variation of this technique, 'Memory Lane: Over-heaven', also exists. It's premise is similar to the original, however, in Over-heaven, the target needs to be standing ove solid ground (or 'solid air') while the user is completely airborne in a position higher than theirs, effectively changing the way the final slashing move is executed.
【Hankyō (反響 - Echo)】A technique that doesn't leave any visual clues for the opponent, Echo is a tool Kagami can use to forcefully recall events of the past in an instant without losing his sense of time or becoming distracted and vulnerable. While any event is game, it's actually impossible to pick up details from a memory that went unnoticed beforehand if they took place at a time where the sword was not released, unless they happened mere moments ago. To keep it short and to the point, 'Echo' is used to quickly be able to adapt to the opponent's fighting style, being able to memorize attack patterns and muscle habits. As such, it becomes more powerful the longer the battle goes on, serving as a replacement for the rare ability of 'Eidetic Memory'. However, it must be noted that while it facilitates the analysis of a foe's capabilities, it won't immediately reveal everything there is to their technique, as recalling a single attack over and over is not guarantee that you'll figure out its secrets. Hilariously low Spiritual Energy cost, but it's not a passive. It has to be activated.
【Kaisō Dōtai (回想導体 - Recollection Conductor)】'Recollection Conductor' is the first Shikai technique that was not taught to Kagami by Hanshami. It was developed by the former to convince his Zampakuto that he has mastered the first release. Although it's neither extraordinary nor completely original -as it was inspired by someone else's technique-, it serves as his true signature spell and proof of his journey thus far. Through controlled breathing, Kagami can slow down the rate at which the trail of water left behind by each attack fades, enabling it to persist longer. By putting a little bit of focus, it becomes possible to leave a thin 'figment thread' that's nearly impossible to the naked eye (although Kagami can manipulate its color, if so desired) and cannot affect the world on its own. Then, when the timing arrives, Kagami can use Hashami's base ability to briefly solidify the threads, making them as tough as reinforced steel wire and as sharp as a blade. A technique that has the potential to both affect the pace of the fight as well as end it in a single instant, it's heavily dependent on its surprise factor and the level of recklessness the foe possesses. A variation of this technique, that may perhaps be even considered a follow-up, is called "Recollection Conductor: Karmic Crossroads". It requires an indoor battlefield, or at least one that's has enough obstacles, structures or support points, like a forest or a narrow alley. Taking advantage of the environment, Kagami can fix each end to a surface and eventually create a web of threads. Then, Kagami can cut down the 'Master Thread' (or let his opponent do it for him), to trigger a domino effect that will result in the threads converging at a single point, immediately capturing the enemy, if not outright finishing them off.

And after lurking about for a day or two, I've decided to indeed say that I'm very interested in this RP! If you would have me, I would gladly draw up a CS in short notice! ^_^?
I'm pretty close to done, but a couple of things. Firstly, a couple things have compounded, the CS skeleton has changed once or twice, I'm coming back from a long layoff so, rusty, and all the hiders were giving me a bit of trouble, so I've formatted my CS differently to make it easier for me. I hope that's not too much of a problem and I've tried to get all the same information in there, I guess once you see it you can tell me if it's applicable or not.
Secondly, in said CS it says I can reveal history or biography through IC with permission, may I do so? I always have trouble writing histories and find it much easier once I've really gotten a hold of the character and have enough time to think it through.
【Name:】 Kurotuo, Mitsue 【Nicknames:】 Mimi (Sister only), Cap to the rest 【Alias:】 Kaleidoscope/Mangekyō 【Age: 565 【Age Appearance:】 26 【Gender:】 Male 【Race:】 Shinigami
【Rank:】 Captain 【Division:】 10th, 十番隊
【Former Rank:】 3rd Seat 【Former Division:】 10th
【Additional Appearance Info:】 Having grown up in modern japan and then transitioning into Soul Society has left Mitsue with three modes of style. The first particular style revolves around his life in the age of technology and the focus on the salary man lifestyle. This style consists of a three-piece business suit; his slacks and shoes are black along with his vest, but his undershirt is white. Instead of wearing his jacket he lets it hand off his broad shoulders serving more as a cloak than anything else. Next is his standard Gotei 13 Shihakusho with some nuances, the under lining of his cloak isn’t one color but a rang of them all in addition to his obi. As for his last outfit, due to his time in Rukongai and adapting to the feudal samurai style world. Mitsue has adopted wearing a Shinsengumi uniform when he’s not filling out paper work or on the job, it is his more relaxed style of clothing sometimes paired with a dark yukata with a pair of geta and no socks.
In terms of physical appearance, Mitsue is quite average. He stands at a modest height of 177 cm and weighs around 64 kgs. While he’s no particularly tall or skinny he does make up for his small frame with exceptionally toned muscles. Mituse isn’t bulky in one area of his body, but instead has it spread out through his 177 cm body. All of his muscle is visible especially when wearing tighter clothes or when he’s mostly disrobed. His eyes are a piercing gun metal blue that’s paired with short but styled dark green almost black colored hair. The only thing left to be said about Mitsue is that he quite the attractive man only obscured by his obsessive habit of constantly smoking. As far as his zanpakuto, he keeps it sheathed in his obi directly on his right hip. Mitsue is almost always seen with a cigarette in his mouth or a pack on his persons.
【Biography:】
Life Before Death
Mitsue was the ideal child, when he was born, he never cried or wanted for anything. He was born to two loving and hardworking parents and that’s how life went for around the next two years. Although he was a single child, he never really got to experience the lifestyle that came with it since the birth of his younger sister was soon announced to him. The thought of another child always created a sense of dismay and jealousy in older children, but Mitsue was rather different. After Hanami was born, everything changed in the little boy’s life. Like any three-year-old he tried to be the model brother and watched over his sister rather diligently whilst being careful to do no harm to the fragile little baby. And so, for a time thing remained the same with the two until they were old enough to go to school. From an early age his parents spoke with him to ensure he always watched over his sister and made sure she never was put in a compromising position.
In the early school days this meant Mitsue would come to her aid whenever she would cry or get into an argument which often ended in him beating up the kid who was the cause of her pain. It was only after a few more incidents that kids far and wide learned that Hanami had a shadow watching over her, one that had eyes set to kill. Besides being his sister’s watchful protector, Mitsue grew into quite the gentleman, model student, and son. Academics was no issue for him since he was just as strict and rigid with his studies as he was with watching his sister. Sitting comfortably at the top of his class allowed him opportunities that extended into the realm of faculty and other members of the school. After school programs were also something, he took part of. If it wasn’t enough to be a leader in class, he was also a leader in teams such as the swim team, volleyball team, and finally, Kendo.
While he was loved at school and his community, he was also loved by his family all the same. Mitsue was one of those people who found pride in having such a strong connection to their family. On the outside they seemed like the model family with the eldest son accomplishing everything the first child is set up to do. However, like every sad story there’s always something else going on in the background that is shown only to those afflicted by it. Everything was true of Mitsue the problem didn’t lie within him, but rather it lied therein with his father. The reason why Mitsue and Hanami could never have friends over was because of their father. Unfortunately for him he was injured on the job and was forced to move into early retirement. Yet this retirement came with no benefits or pension since the company filed his injury as negligence. Having no source of income and a depression that couldn’t be kicked, his father found comfort in the only thing that could, alcohol.
As cliché as it might be, their father spiraled down into a pit of alcoholism and rage. For a time, things were manageable, his mother worked as a florist as she did before, Mitsue used any money from scholarships and awards to supplement his family while not having to work and Hanami was able to focus on her studies since Mituse wouldn’t allow her to work so early on. There was hope for a time until his condition quickly deteriorated. His addiction consumed his life and there was no lull in time where he wasn’t drinking. Growing quite destitute in his demeanor this worried Mitsue, he was becoming scared of the idea of leaving his mother and Hanami alone with their father. His social standing and equity allowed for him to negotiate ways to keep them from going home which was a god send. But things continued to regress, their father had decided to pick up a habit of gambling once he found out he could get into the family account.
At first no one noticed, it was just a few dollars here another few dollars there, nothing that couldn’t be chalked up to ‘therapy’ or more alcohol. It wasn’t until the spending exceeded more than him and his mother could afford to make a month that it became an issue. Thus, forcing Mitsue to go out and find work after school and sports along with his mother. Mitsue though Hanami was safe from all of this and could continue to live peacefully if he could just do this one thing for her. Little did he know his kind-hearted ideals would be dashed away in deplorable fashion. Stripped of access to their monetary account, their father went to gamble one last time betting everything he had on the table. He was easy pickings for anyone who had two functioning eyes, but that didn’t stop these men from taking whatever he had. With no money to offer and having lost every hand he played their father was now at the mercy of loan sharks.
Anyone who’s dealt with an alcoholic especially one that’s family knows that their guilt and persuasion is what destroys families, the promise that things will get better when they in fact get worse. Caught up in their fathers lies and shades of sobriety, Hanami reluctantly decided to their good for nothing father. Her shadow wasn’t with her anymore and had foolishly thought she was under watchful guidance, so he was none the wiser. In an effort to pay off his debt and save his own miserable life, their father offered Hanami as a means of payment. It worked for a time and the debt was slowly eroding until one night when Mitsue received a call from a distraught Hanami after a night went sour. It was then that the secret he had been hiding had been revealed. Seeing red, Mitsue attacked his father in a rage before he decided to end this charade and pay off the rest of the loan himself. Except the loan sharks didn’t want his money, they had grown quite a liking to his younger sister.
Not thinking right, Mitsue leveraged his connections and threatened the loan sharks which in hindsight was less than ideal. Mitsue kept close watch over his sister the next few days waiting for retaliation, excused from work and school he allowed for things to cool down before starting his life again. It finally seemed their lives were going back to normal and their father even invited them to eat out in order to celebrate. Reluctant to go, he gave in to his fathers wishes and got ready with the rest of his family. Before they could arrive Mitsue was called into last minute to accept an award on behalf of the entire school. Pressed to not miss it he left and would meet them after the event was over, that was the last time he would get to make such a foolish decision.
After the press event, Mitsue made his way back home. The even lasted longer than expected with all the interviews and questions mixed with mingling and handshakes there was just no respite. His house was dark and dead with silence, his gut immediately twisted with the hairs on his neck standing on edge. A trembling hand opened the door and flicked the lights on only to reveal what could only be explained as an execution style slaughter. The walls were stained a crimson red, furniture had been stolen and what wasn’t taken was left broken, his family had been laid to rest together. First came shock then despair, a mix of tears and vomit retched out of him at an alarming rate. Making his way to the lifeless body he was brought to his knees, cradling his little sisters’ corpse in his arms, wailing like an injured creature out in the wild.
A part of Mitsue died within him that night, blaming himself for allowing his sister to be a victim of his and his fathers sins. The golden boy was turned tragic by the media and news outlets, he was allowed to finish school, but his academics were never the same. His position on teams was turned over and he was allowed to resign from work with a hefty severance package. None of that mattered to him though, his life was worthless now. Revenge had been the only thing left on his mind, he had nothing left to throw away and he was only slightly hoping he would meet his end as well. In the dead of night Mitsue made his way to the location of the loan shark, gun in hand ready to brandish. Bursting in he startled the loan shark and as all cowards he started to beg for his life. Without hesitation or remorse, Mitsue unloads his clip onto the loans hark, furiously pressing the trigger even when there was nothing left. He stood there for awhile even cried a bit before deciding to leave the scene.
When he opened the door, he was greeted by someone else, by something else. What he didn’t know then, but now known as a hollow appeared in the doorway and with one fell swoop punctured his entire chest cavity. A cough and retch of blood escaped his mouth along with a laugh, what a timely ending to an untimely life.
Life After Death
Life after death wasn’t so bad or at least that’s what Mitsue thought. In the entirety of Rukongai, Mituse happened to have been placed in the 80th district of the north sector. It seemed rather fitting for him to start his new life there. The antithesis of rags to riches, something he wasn’t used compared to his time in the human realm. Poetic in some aspect or a cruel joke in another, regardless of which Mituse accepted it as his punishment for allowing his family to be murdered on his watch. He spent most his days sleeping and staying inside ignoring the rampant crime and murders that occurred outside. There were times that he participated in hobbies he had when he was alive (studying, kendo, working out) but it was still all for naught. On rare instances there were attempts at home invasions or robberies and every time that occurred, he killed every last one of them just envisioning the loan shark he shot. Over time he accumulated weapons, money, and whatever else miscreants carried with them and used them to his benefit.
In the violent streets of his district he slowly started to gain notoriety and title that he went by, “Kage/Shadow” since no one saw him, but he was always there. Mitsue heard that the Captains of the Gotei 13 were supposed to watch over every district, but he never so much as met or heard one come into his district. That was until the balance between souls was growing out of hand and what better way to quell such overpopulation than killing the ones that reside beyond the fiftieth district. In the hysteria going on outside of his raggedy home, Mitsue prepared himself inside for one last fight. Perhaps his life really was worthless after his family was massacred so why fight? Whatever it was, Mitsue kept fighting and surviving, waiting for the Shinigami to burst through those doors just as so many before him tried. Almost on time the Shingami entered his home only he didn’t burst through but instead calmly slide the door open.
There was no sense of killing intent or any kind of negative emotions harbored within the individual. It was strange and only left Mitsue feeling quite a bit more uneased than before. The man introduced himself as the Captain of the 10th division and while he was here to restore balance, he was also looking for a challenge. Mitsue remained silent through the whole ordeal painted before him by quite the eccentric male. Were all captains like him? Is this what the stories of the Gotei 13 were about? Regaining his composure, he tightened his grip and offered the first strike. Almost like flowing water the captain danced around Mitsue before delivering a drill of a kick to his back. This guy was different unlike the rest that proclaimed themselves as the best, no he was the real deal. The two clashed over and over each time Mitsue getting a little stronger and faster.
Little did he know; the captain was drawing out the reiatsu that laid dormant inside of Mitsue. The captain had heard of his name or rather his title and had actually paid the vagrants to challenge Mitsue all with varying levels of skill and reiatsu. So, when the time came to request permission to equalize the souls in Rukongai the 10th signed up right away. The 10th kept prodding and probing Mitsue with questions while he was rattled. With each blow Mitsue unraveled his chaotic and tragic past, the Captain using this as an advantage to draw the rest of his reiatsu out. With one final test he pushed Mitsue by referencing his deceased sister which is all it took for what was locked deep inside to explode outwards in a mesmerizing light.
After that Mitsue was recruited into the academy by request and recommendation by his Captain. The integration into Shinōreijutsuin was easy since he was a master at academies only this one was quite different than any that existed in the human world. While he acclimated and thrived under the watch of his Captain, Mitsue made his mark and soon became a star pupil to watch out for. Mitsue trained in private with his Captain until one day he pulled him aside and brought him to a different class of students. It was then what he saw what his instructor wanted him to see, it was his sister Hanami in all her radiant beauty. His soul left his body in that moment and he couldn’t help but weep at whatever fate had led him here. The 10th embraced him and knew this would light a candle under Mitsue’s ass and serve as a means to train harder than before.
And he was right, Mitsue had become a new man and trained from sun up to sun down, pushing the limits of what any Shinigami could regarding their Zanpakuto and training within their inner world. Things went on like this for quite a while even as far as taking him out on missions. The future had never looked brighter for the aspiring Shinigami and his captain.
【Personality:】
Despite his aloof exterior he exudes without notice, Mitsue is quite the opposite. He is both compassionate and kind when interacting with anyone he meets. He doesn’t believe in ostracizing or excluding people based on minor transactions or bias imposed by others. This is what made him so successful in his old life, with exception to some unscrupulous individuals that you just can’t avoid. Charisma is something else that was key to his disposition and what made him a great leader not just as a friend or classmate, but as a captain for teams and clubs. His natural sense to lead and his honest humility is what ties everything together and creates an aura of grace and welcome. In terms of his work and responsibilities as a Captain of the 10th he is nothing short of austere. Mitsue believes there’s no room to be lenient when it comes to ensuring the Gotei 13 is run smoothly, this doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy breaks or fun just that work needs a sense of self control.
Apart from showing that he’s quite the sincere friend and worker, there’s only so much Mitsue can do to keep his best face on. When he’s not in view of others he takes a more hands-off approach, meaning he can’t be assed to do anything. He’s strict with his work but it becomes quite the drag from the monotony and dullness of it all. Due to the circumstances of his death, Mitsue has developed quite the habit of keeping people he cares about at arm’s length even if people see him as a close friend or mentor. Once an open book he’s since then closed off his pages and information, adopting a shroud of mystery in its place. Egoism became the focal point of his life’s philosophy when he was locked up in his hut in Rukongai.
In battle Mitsue tends to keep himself levelheaded seeing as any emotional rise could lead to death. If one can be in control of their emotions and not give way to anger, then more focus can be placed on following the flow of battle. Mitsue always lives by the code of Hesitation is defeat, nothing he does in combat is without reason even if it backfires on him. Hesitation gives away to opportunity, an opportunity on his life he’s not willing to give so easily. Just as he respects everyone outside of battle, he does the same in it, judging a fighter before seeing their metal can also be the death of oneself. Mitsue does not like to toy with his enemy and will be brutal in combat not letting up once he starts, if left unchecked Mitsue can go off the rails and destroy his enemies past incapacitation.

「Capabilities」
「General Aptitude」
Fighting Style:
Mitsue takes a more cerebral approach to his fighting style rather than just relying on physical form and strength. He prefers not to showcase his abilities as to keep the enemy constantly guessing on what he can accomplish, a guessing game that he is in control of. Control is a large factor in his style, from start to end Mitsue likes to control the tempo and trajectory in which the fight is going to take even as far as accounting for alternate outcomes based on one decision. Once Mitsue has a good understanding of his opponent and the flow of battle he overwhelms his enemy, like a predator staling its prey, with his combination of Zanjutsu and Hoho. Both speed and swordplay allow him to set up the use of his Zanpakuto which is the core component of what makes his fighting style so adept and destructive. While his spiritual power is immense it is strictly capped within him only leaking out when he’s about to use an ability related to his zanpakuto. Just as he can read the fight, he also tends to read his opponent using that to his advantage. Words can be just as pointed as blades and create openings just the same, creating a rise out of the enemy or using their weaknesses against them is pivotal to the duality that is his fighting style.
Masteries and Proficiencies:
「KidoProficient」
Mitsue sees no use in Kido despite both its destructive output and helpful bindings. It just had no place in his skill set in a way it would help more than hinder. A small set of kido is more than sufficient for him to survive off of.
「HakudaProficient」
Mitsue sacrificed his proficiency in hand to hand to devote his time to mastering speed and sword arts. While he certainly isn't the smallest Shingami he most notably isn't the biggest and while his body is at it's peak his fighting style and zanpakuto are polar opposites to what hand to hand combat would bring.
「HohōMaster」
Hoho and his overall theme from his blade to his fighting prowess perfectly homogenize with his need for speed. While he necessarily doesn't need to rely on it he does find it perfect for his style.
「ZanjutsuMaster」
Zanjutsu is what Mitsue prides himself on, complete and utter control over everything that is connected to his blade. Mastery over his sword and the spirit that lies within it is paramount to him and the power it bestowed within it.
「Zanpakuto」
Zanpakuto Name - Theia (Titan Goddess of Sight and the shining ether of the bright, blue sky) Sealed State - Rainbow Serpent 虹の蛇
~"Light reveals all that cowers in the Dark."~
Additional Description: There’s not much more to know about Rainbow Serpent that can’t be acquired from just looking at it. The blade itself is a notable iridescent metal that is constantly changing its luminous color with each change in angle. The guard is square in shape with a serpent coiling around the entrance for the blade. Finally, dangling off the end of the hilt is a small chain with a glass prism attached in a three-dimensional shape that furthers the light given off by the Rainbow Serpent.
Inner World & Spirit:
Ōkagami (The Great Mirror (大鏡) The Great Mirror is perched atop a mountainous range that’s covered in a continuous flow of spewing clouds. The mountains themselves are quite hard to traverse, but also have small chambers and structures built on the more leveled surfaces. You can’t walk or travel to the Great Mirror for it is stationed between heaven and earth, frozen in place in the planets blue sky. Serving as a giant mirror one can also traverse through it as a portal in order to travel to whatever the mirror sees in the reflection of the persons eyes.
Titan Goddess Theia Theia was a Titan goddess, more commonly referred to as the goddess of shining elements. She was associated with shining metals, shining jewels or shining light. She was also known as the goddess of sight and the Greeks believed her eyes were beams of light, helping them see with their own mortal eyes. Theia is always pictured as a strikingly beautiful woman. She typically has long hair and flowing clothing that helps to show the light around her as mother of the Sun, Moon, and Dawn. The main symbol of Theia is her eyes. Because the Greek’s believed that her eyes emitted a beam that allowed them to see, her eyes were the most important to them. In her battle form her eyes are set ablaze with furious light that can pierce the souls of men. Her back sprouts four wings and she gains a kind of battle regalia that shows the infinite galaxy within. To finish it off she wields a golden lance with light focused in the tip of the blade.
Zanpakuto Personality: On all accounts Theia is that of a mother figure, in that she treats Mitsue more like a son than a companion. As a mother her first job is to ensure that her children are taken care of even if that means sacrificing her own needs first. Having known the scorn and tragedy Mitsue experienced in his own life regarding his own mother, Theia sees it only fit to try and fill the void left behind. She is both a watchful protector and guiding light in his world. While she is strong and compassionate, she is also the kind of mother to defend her cub when faced with violence or something that would threaten his life. Upon becoming the aggressor, Theia releases all that makes her a goddess and a titan. The mix of primal instinct and divine power makes her for quite the contender as she is not kind to any that oppose her will.
Ability: Mitsue’s Shikai and Bankai revolve around the ability to manipulate light, this is not to be confused with the ability to manipulate photons or move at the speed of light, but rather the manipulation of how light refracts and acts against reflective surfaces. In order to use his abilities, Mituse uses prisms as a catalyst for his light-based attacks to conduct. These prisms often vary in size and shape and can be summoned by him instantly and controlled via the reiatsu that's attached to them. The prisms themselves are strengthened and hardened by his immense reiatsu so they prove more difficult to break than normal glass. Mitsue has complete dominion over refractive light and color in order to overwhelm his opponent.
Techniques
カメレオン Kamereon (Chameleon): Using his prisms to bend light around him, Mitsue coats his body in his small prisms blending the light to match the coloration and form in the corresponding background camouflaging him from view. Mitsue can also bend the light around him to change his appearance as a sort of illusion, however sound touch and smell do not carry over just the image of the impersonated persona.
画像鏡 Gazōkagami (Mirror Image): Derived from the same principle as Chameleon, Mitsue places his prism in his desired location and projects his desired image through the prisms. This serves as a hologram of sorts and can create a convincing copy of whatever it’s replicating. As such they are based on sight only and have no effect to other senses or have physical presence.
鏡鏡 Kagami Kagami (Mirror Mirror): This technique actually has no real combat effectiveness. A supplementary technique used for communication Mitsue created. Mitsue creates a two-way mirror using his prisms in order to communicate with allies depending on if there is a reflective surface on the other side. Not only for communication, this technique also serves as reconnaissance since he can project one prism from a far-off distance and see through it from another prism. Essentially the same mechanics behind how a drone operates.
曲がりくねる Magarikuneru (ZigZag): ZigZag takes the ability to shoot linear light at a target and enhances it to a potent form. Mitsue will alter the path in which his prisms take in order to change the linear motion of his light beams. This means shooting his beam through one prism will then reflect it to the next closest prism, in essence this allows the attack to be carried across longer distances thus increasing the range and allows the beam to zig zag so it can follow its intended target. This also works with reflective surfaces that are not his prisms. Larger prisms are smaller in number but have a larger surface area whereas smaller prisms are higher in number and are more concentrated/lethal.
青か赤 Ao-Ka-Aka (Blue or Red): Derived from the way light moves on the spectrum based off frequencies, Mitsue coats his sword in tiny prisms. This ability takes two forms depending on which color he takes. If the prisms coat his blade in blue light, then his sword attacks appear to slow down since blue light travels slower than red. His blade is not actually moving slower instead it’s used as a deceptive ability that preys on the opponent’s perception of movement and depth. Someone who attempts to block the blade at the interpreted speed will be too late, leading to cuts being already inflicted. The opposite is true if Mitsue coats his blade in red light. The target will see the blade moving at inhuman speeds almost reaching the novelty that is the speed of light. However, Mitsue’s blade is not moving at that speed of light but rather just a hair faster than normal from his skill in zanjutsu and hoho.
失明光 Shitsumei Hikari (Blinding Light): Mitsue coats his blade in prisms once more, instead of choosing one color Mitsue decides to reflect them all at once creating a dazzling blade of white light. The glowing blade of light seems to be rather condensed which gives it higher cutting power, when in reality the prisms break and create a rotating wheel of reinforced teethed glass. When Mitsue no longer needs the higher cutting power or needs to create distance, he will channel all the white light into the shards and release them creating a blinding light that’s meant to blind anyone who looks directly at it in addition to having tiny shards fly at high speeds. The blindness is only temporary such that of a flashbang or solar flare.
反射 Hansha (Reflection): Reflection is a simple but effective counter measure ability that pairs well with the rest of Mitsue’s arsenal. Mitsue will take several prisms and began revolving them in a circular pattern until a mirror is form. Once the mirror is formed, depending on how many prisms are utilized the mirror can than reflect attacks back at the target. For instance, if a kido ability or a fire ball was shot at Mitsue the mirror would reflect the attack back onto the user. The bigger the attack the more prisms are needed and expenditure of reishi. Larger attacks will shatter the mirror and destroy it preventing reflection. Physical attacks and weapon based attacks can not be reflected and will cause the mirror to shatter.
Bankai
~"Kussetsu Ametsuchi, Megamin! (Refract through Heaven and Earth, Goddess!)"~ 屈折天地, 女神
Ability: Mitsue’s Bankai works a little different than his shikai, while it retains the same properties his shikai possess and the abilities that can be used during it, it adopts a new form and identity. Mitsue’s blade erupts into a bright flash of light that jets downward in an x direction. Upon activating his bankai both Mitsue and his target are encased in one large glass prism (think Suzumushi size) that is indestructible from the inside. Instead of a blade or prisms, Mitsue gains two Tessen (鉄扇 Japanese War Fans). These are folding fans that open fully to form a circular weapon that can be thrown and returned in the same function as a boomerang. What makes these fans special is instead of having metal plates the spokes are made from reinforced reflective blades making them lightweight but strong and designed to look like normal, harmless folding fans. His mastery over Zanjutsu also allowed him to master Tessenjutsu (鉄扇術, iron fan technique) a martial art of the Japanese war fan. Tessenjutsu focuses on cutting, parrying blows, and deflecting projectiles with said fans. Practitioners of Tessenjutsu could acquire a high level of skill which rewards itself with a synonymous level of sophistication.
Techniques
鏡の間 Kagami no Ma (Mirror Room): Within the walls of his giant prism, Mitsue can enter the reflective mirrors of the prism themselves. Once inside, Mitsue can accomplish three things. First, he can project his image across the reflective surfaces lining the inside and outside of the prism making it difficult to know which entry point he will jump out from until he does. Secondly, he can project the image of his target all along the surfaces along with himself to mimic that of the famous carnival attraction, this ability does require Mitsue to be outside of the prism in order to complete. Lastly, Mitsue can teleport through the prism via reflection to reflection, however he cannot create multiple images of himself nor can he attack via reflective teleportation. Instead he can only throw his projectile weapons otherwise he must teleport first and then come out to engage in combat.
万華鏡 Mangekyō (Kaleidescope): Instead of casting images of himself or his target, Mitsue can bleed into the reflective surfaces’ endless variety of patterns throughout the prism like a kaleidoscope. The constantly moving and changing pattern is used to create a feeling of vertigo in the target both from visuals and the feeling of the room moving when it is not. Mitsue cannot enter his prism while he is utilizing this ability and so is left on equal footing as his target, the kaleidoscope ability has no effect or impairment on Mitsue as he is immune. Any serious injury on Mitsue will shatter the illusion and return the prism to its translucent state.
刑務所の鏡 Keimusho no Kagami (Prison Mirror): The final ability in Mitsue’s wheel house and probably the deadliest. Prison Mirror’s one goal is to imprison the target within Mitsue’s mirror realm, in order to achieve this the target and Mitsue must first need to meet certain goals. Mitsue must first write the kanji in blood on his fans to activate the ability. Once activated his fans need to strike an opponent’s appendage to create a seal on whatever part it hits. The fan does no damage when leaving the mark and inflicts no pain. Once the seal is placed, Mitsue must strike the same seal with his fans more than four times in order to activate the seals potential as four in Japanese is Shi also meaning Death. If the requirements are met whichever appendage is struck will be transported inside of the mirror realm. Again, this creates no damage or blood, but instead will replace said limb with an iridescent bubble prosthetic. If Mitsue manages to hit the seal any number of times before four and mistakenly hits another limb the counter will break and start at zero on the new limb. If Mitsue is successful in sealing the entire person into the mirror world, they will be trapped within unless they can defeat Mitsue or exit alongside of him.
