Screams could be heard all over Seireitei as the battle brewing took place. Division 11's barracks were set on fire, it glowing a red rage almost and the unseated were scene scrambling, saving anyone unfortunately close to the barracks when the explosion happened. The captain was nowhere to be seen, the Lt moving their fight to somewhere without so much collateral damage. The division was in chaos, the Lieutenant had decided it was enough and tried to move anyone who felt the same out of the Division as their Captain seemed to go more and more off the rails. Of course this was all to his plan, on the night of the attack, the Unsuspecting Lieutenant Haruzato had chosen to move everyone as she thought the captain would be out on a mission. And true it was a mission, just one that involved the slaughtering of anyone who didn't side with him and his choice. When she began moving people, that's when everything popped off, him killing half the division with one swing. His pure unfiltered spiritual energy could be felt in all directions. Okirigae had been on a mission when all this first happened, completely oblivious of Haruzato's or Matsurada's choice.
Twenty Minutes ago
"What is the meaning of this?" Matsurada had his sword drawn, leaning against his shoulder. His gold spiritual energy seemed to engulf the whole barracks and grounds of Division 11. He had scary glowing gold eyes, them seemingly teeming with rage at this betrayal by none other than his own Lt.
"Captain...ple-" before the Lieutenant could finish, the man started a slash, giving her enough time to grab everyone on her right. However anyone to the left of her...well they now resided on the walls...and the floor...and the ceiling. Haruzato had moved the people she did save to the edge of the forest, telling them to run and hide their spiritual energy.
"Don't come unless his energy is gone...try to find help, you'll know whenever someone is on the right side, got me?" they all nodded, before speeding off into the forest. Arriving back at the barracks, she looked for any survivors, the captain seeming to hide himself. It wasn't until she got to the barracks, had she seen what he had done. He killed anyone, even ones that would have followed him blindly and pinned them to the walls of the barracks with their own Zanpakuto. As she tried to pull a comrade down, the house seemed to be rigged, and exploded, sending her flying. Stopping herself with her blade, she was rushed by the captain, narrowly blocking his kick that sent her sliding across the ground. In the kicks wake, a dragging crater was made. Raising the sword above his head, without hesitation he swung down, sending his spiritual energy in a condensed half moon at her. Holding the sword with both hands, Haruzato breathed in
"Eat, Mugen No I" her spiritual presence greatly increasing, touching her sword to the attack, it was sucked in, coating her Katana in silver. She had broken cuffs with chains hanging from above her elbow and on her wrist.
"My dear, I am disappointed in you, after all we've been through and you're going to try and mutiny? Tsk tsk, i thought i taught you better than that""Matsurada your actions are not like you, the captain i followed would have killed the fool behind all this. He wouldn't have slaughtered his whole division because his Lt. decided enough was enough. What did he promise you? an unending fight? A new position? What would you do with Kiri was here right now? You thi-" the man appeared in front of her, towering over her with his hand gripping her mouth.
"Do not speak like you know all about me, you would never understand..." he stopped for a second, the mans word ringing in his ear
"if you want your little pupil to live through what i have planned, then you'll join my cause and make sure your division, ALL of your division does the same. Oh and if they don't, kill all of them, we cant have anyone too strong join the resistance now can we?" his pause gave Haruzato an opening, taking her sword, she slashed at his hand, making him let go. Putting one foot out before he could react, she slashed sidewars with both hands
"I O Kuunisuru..." the move that she had shot at her, was now sent back with two times the power and silver in color. The man attempted to stop it with his hand, before it overwhelmed him and sent him flying into buildings behind him.
"I know you better than most Matsu...now let's take this somewhere else you wont kill anyone..." she disappeared, reappearing somewhere in an open field. A very angry Matsurada forced the rubble off of him and sent it flying away, his gold spiritual presence burning like a lantern to anyone paying attention. He too disappearing, leaving the barracks burning and quiet.

Okirigae arriving back into Seireitei was a mess, at first no understanding what was going on. She had been with unseated members of her division and upon their return, all the could feel was chaos, people fighting everywhere. Leaving her comrades on their own to return to the barracks, when she jumped ahead, she fell to her knees seeing the carnage left in the wake of her captain and Lt fighting.
"What happened?" a wounded member of her division laying on the ground, she held onto his wounds as he tried to speak.
"Ca...captain...attacked...Har...Haruzato...lured him...away" the man reached out for Okirigae's hand, the woman not knowing how to handle this situation simply grabbed his hand and watched as he died. Standing, like her captain, her spiritual presence would have been felt by anyone in the general area, feeling her rage. She could not believe her captain did this, he was a cruel man, but not without compassion for his division. He and Haruzato had made this together, this was their child. Focusing, she found the two's spiritual presence and flash stepped to their fight. Stopping in the air and seeing huge waves of silver and gold clashing. Moving fast, she caught both their wrists, catching both of them completely off guard, and tossed them both in opposite directions, the captain colliding with a tree to make himself stop, while Haruzato dug her sword into the dirt, sliding to a stop.
Shit's getting reallll(Song Change)"What are you two doing?!? Destroying our home? Fighting amongst yourselves, leaving your own comrades dying in your wake. What is going on?!" the tiny woman teeming with more rage then even Matsurada felt prior
"...is it true Captain?""Kiri lis-" the man trying to tell her the situation was cut off by a much angrier Kiri.
"Is it true captain..." this time her sword seemed to be trembling in rage with her.
The captain stopped, and sighed
"Yes, i killed those men and women." the man crossed his arms
"and so what? they were going to mutiny against their own captain, it was either i kill them, or someone else would. I am giving them the quickest an-" the little woman moved almost too fast for either of her higher ups to follow, punching Matsurada so hard in his stomach it looked as if her hand was going to bust through. This time, he was sent flying through dozen of tree's, her disappearing and reappearing behind the man. She had two hands on her hilt, her sword raised above her. The man barely had enough time to raise his sword to block her incoming attack, successfully, the force of her attack carved a huge line on the ground, following the path of her sword swing. Pushing her off, Matsurada went to swing, before she once again moved so fast it was as if she was teleporting. Reappearing to the side of him, she swung a right fist with all her strength, her fist connecting with his face and breaking his mask as well as sending him down into the ground.
"ENOUGH!" Kiri jumped out of the way, standing back to where Haruzato was watching
"I did all this to save you, but it seems you're giving me no choice. I will kill both of you right now and spar you from the horrors they'd have waiting for you, so come at me with all you got, make my last time seeing you something to remember" his spiritual presence seeming to double and continue to build as he jumped out of the crater Kiri made out of his body, his Glasgow smile showing.
"Together! We can beat him if we do it together" Haruzato said it as if to give confidence to herself, looking over to the smaller girl who seemed still and quiet in her resolve, only giving her single nod and standing ready for whatever the captain brought at them. The captain moved, the ground behind him kicking up from the sheer strength of the man, rushing at them, he sent a powerful swing at Haruzato, Kiri moving to block it, Haruzato used the girl and jumped off her. Disappearing in the air and reappearing behind Matsurada, she went to slash at the back of his legs. Upon contact, the blade rebounded as if it hit another sword and she quickly moved back as the ground where she stood blew up.
"He's using his shikai be carefu-!" a kick came rocketing at her head, she narrowly bringing her arm up to block it, the man seemed to pull the same move, disappearing and reappearing to the other-side of her, mid kick.
(current open spot of his shikai, his neck)Kiri appeared and caught his kick, sending a kick herself to his chest. Connecting, the force of the impact ripping up trees behind the man. However he stood as if it hadn't hit him, bringing his leg that Kiri held up, he brought her up with it, before axe kicking down into Haruzato. Both the girls moving away quickly before it cause them to go colliding into each other, before starting their own assault. Kiri rushing the man and trying to overwhelm him with power, while Haruzato would come at different directions, attempting to find his shikai's open spot. However after minutes of this strategy, Matsurada grew tired of their game, with them trying the strategy once more. This time he waited until the last moment, before driving his sword into the ground and sending his spiritual presence into the earth. He caused the ground to explode, sending them into the air. Sending three serious swings, he sent huge crescent energy waves at them. Kiri covered her blade in her own spiritual energy, making it glow with a red aura and gripped the hilt with both hands. Using one of the flying debris, she kicked off of it with all her might and sent herself speeding at the crescent. Swinging, she cut through it causing one of the crescents to split and fly past the two women on either side. Soaring towards the man, he too put two hands on his sword, welcoming her attack. Standing with one foot in front of the other, he stood with his sword above him, the tip pointing behind him.
Upon reaching him, she swung horizontal, while he swung vertical, their blades meeting and causing a burning bright light to fill the sky. Both of them were sent in the opposite directing, slamming into the sides of the crater Matsurada had made. All the while above them Haruzato had absorbed both the mans remaining crescents, waiting until they collided before sending his attacks back at him before he could get up. Letting them hit him, they simply melted into his colorful samurai armor, making him glow a brighter gold. Appearing above Haruzato, he once again used a serious slash, connecting with her back and sending her flying forwards and down towards the crater. Kiri pushed herself up from the dirt and jumped catching the woman and putting herself under the woman to take the brunt of the impact. Without time to react, Matsurada appeared on the ground in front of them, sending four blindingly fast crescents at them. Haruzato pushed Kiri out of the way, holding her sword and attempting to absorb all four crescents. Upon the four one reaching her, the sword began to shake, exploding in her out of her shikai, the fourth crescent colliding with her chest. Sending her flying, Kiri caught her and dug her feet into the ground, sliding to a halt. Holding her Lt in her hands, the woman pushed herself away from Kiri and fell to the ground, using her blade to help her up.
"You have to go back to the barracks and gather everyone, he's getting stronger..." she stood to her feet and held her blade up again.
"An iron resolve, that's why i picked you two" Matsurada stood adjacent from them, his spiritual presence only increasing
"if my student has learned anything from me, running wont work, not against someone who's faster. And even if you did, you wouldn't make it but a couple of feet with how injured she is" the slash on Haruzato's chest bled onto the floor almost like a cruel stage queue in a play
"you only have two options, fight and die, or fight and win. I'll even give you an edge, my shikai's weak spot is my neck" he laughed, taunting her to come at him.
"Don-" Kiri disappearing and reappearing, sending a blindly fast slash at the man's neck. Deflecting it, the man spartan kicked her in the stomach, making her cough up spit. Soaring back, she bounced off a tree, to which the captain appeared and sent an impossibly fast spinning kick at her chest, sending her through the tree this time. Tumbling across the ground, she rolled to the side, the man narrowing missed her with a crescent, rushing her, she could only defend from the onslaught of crushing swings. He was quite literally beating her into the ground, her feet digging deeper and deeper with each block or parry. Getting slowly frustrated, the girl put two hands on her hilt and side stepped his downward slash. Lunging once again for his neck, she got ever so closer before he caught her blade. Pulling her forward, he threw her up and put two hands on his sword. Breathing in and slashing down with monstrous strength
"Jisatsu Suingu..." he slashed her into the ground, an explosion of sheer power exploding with her at the epicenter. In its wake, the trees around them had been blown away, but instead of Kiri being the one to take the blow, Haruzato stood, Matsurada's blade plunged deep into her torso from the shoulder down. The woman coughed out blood and looked behind her "You...got this-" not being able to finish as her body exploded into mist.
Matsurada sighing
"well that's a shame, i didn't want to kill her like that, but commendable and i'm sure she'l-"Oh Boy(Song Change)"Rage, Basaka-Kuin" the very air vibrating as the girl was covered in a red skin tight aura. Slashing the air, the red aura splattered around her, revealing her shikai form. Her injuries healing and her pupils red, spiritual energy formed around her almost looking like a red cat demon. Matsurada smiled and stood, his aura forming a golden dragon like aura around him. They ran at each other, blades colliding and their spiritual flying off in different directions. Kiri had never felt rage like this, and Basaka was eating it up, fueling her more. They pushed off, both gripping their swords with two hands and once again colliding, they caused an implosion of the dirt to happen before once again exploding and sending them backwards.
"Chaos's Revenge" from the dust, a red energy crescent many times bigger than his gold one erupted from the dust cloud. It carved the ground as it sped towards the man, who in turn sent his own back. The crescents colliding and making a beautiful mix of red and gold before exploding kicking up more dust. Both taking the opportunity, sped towards each other, colliding, they sent punches at each other. Their fist colliding together, they almost mirrored each other, each impact making small air blast around them. Matsurada could feel it, Okirigae was becoming what he had planned for hundreds of years. The students rage induced fighting only fueled the man more, suddenly speeding up and starting to overwhelm the girl. Quickly, she felt a few slashes bleeding through their meeting blows, receiving cuts on her shoulders, arms and face. Then without warning, the man sent a golden uppercut into her stomach sending her soaring into the air. Tumbling, the girl controlled her spinning and sent two
Chaos's Revenge crescents, drastically bigger than her last one, in a cross formation towards the man on the ground. Holding his blade too his side, he lowered himself before jumping into the air, slashing his blade through the first one with ease, he went to slash through the second one, before his wrist was grabbed by Kiri. Using his speed from jumping off the ground, she spun him into the crescent, head first. Upon contact, she let go, letting the crescent crash into the ground leaving a deep slash in the earth. Standing above she breathed out, waiting for the man to get back up, because he would always get back up, no matter if he was almost dead. Feeling an overwhelming presence suddenly behind her, she turned only to get stabbed through her back and stomach. Slashing behind her, the blade and Matsurada stepped back, both of the shinigami floated back down to the earth.
Holding her stomach, she simply felt the blood, but no pain
"Queen's Anger..." a one meter circle around her started smoking. Stomping, she kicked up pieces of earth and punched the orange glowing ground, sending huge chunks at the Captain, whose armor was now cracked and battered.. Slicing the first big piece of debris, Kiri was following closely after it, the man feeling the full force of
Queen's Anger. Trying to step back, Kiri appeared behind the man, punching his spine and sending him towards the flying orange orbs of debris. Slamming into it and now re-approaching the girl, she ran towards the debris, two handing her hilt once more, her sword glowed red. Slicing horizontal, she sliced clean through the debris, her slash destroying everything in its path. The Captain lifted his arm, blocking his neck from the slash but unable to stop it on its path. Cutting through all of the debris, the captain was sent tumbling into the ground, before recovering into a roll. Rolling on to his feet, he slid to a stop and lowered his arm, now severely cut.
"For a second there i thought you were going to get me" steam coming off his skin, he flexed his cut arm
"we haven't sparred in a while have we, I almost forgot how strong you were" ripping his armor off, it revealed a snaking golden dragon tattoo moving all around his torso from back to front. He stepped forward, Kiri bracing for the mans assault. Felling a blade coming for her neck, she instinctual blocked, getting pushed back by an unseen force. Looking around, she tried to sense the man's spiritual presence but could see nothing. Once again feeling as if a punch was flying towards her back, she held her blade with her palm on the flat side and blocked a powerful blow that knocked her off her feet. Quickly flipping backwards, she slid and held her blade ready "Rage Blessing" her eyes glowing she waited for the man once again. Feeling a sudden impending doom start to form in the pit of her stomach, she quickly moved to the side, Matsurada suddenly appearing and narrowly missing a swing that quite literally obliterated the ground where she once stood.
"This is getting boring, all you're doing is dodging, come on where's that anger! I killed Haruzato didn't I?! Or does her deat-" he was quickly swept off his feet, the girl seemingly getting a second wind from his taunting, she clasped her hands together and slammed down into the man's chest, slamming him into the ground. Sending them both up into the air from the force, she raised her sword and sliced over and over again sending dozens of Chao's Revenges at the man. Parrying them all almost too easily, Kiri used the opportunity and pushed hard off of the floating piece of earth she had slammed up. Reaching the man, she was inches from his neck when the same feeling of doom filled her stomach. Jumping up, the space below where she was previous was slashed open, forming a small canyon. Feeling herself start to slow down, the air thinned. All the hair on her body stood up and looking down, Matsurada was nowhere to be found.
This was different from any encounter she had with the captain prior. She was truly fighting for her life against an unstoppable force. Without any form of instinctual warning, the captain appeared right in front of her, sending another deathly powerful punch. She thought of every way to move, but it was as if she was stuck in cement. Unable to dodge, she was forced to block, receiving the full force of his attack. Almost instantly she felt her arm's bones shatter on contact, blacking out from the force of the attack, she suddenly was on a rock platform in her inner world. On the outside, her body was sent crashing into the Tenth Division’s barracks. Getting up in her inner world, Basaka-Kuinu slowly walked out from its lava waterfall, its energy flowing like blood out from it.
"I can't beat him, he's too strong, no matter how many times i overwhelm him, he overcomes it with ease...what do i do Basaka..." the spirit swatted the girl, making her fly and hit the wall. Bouncing off, she landed into a roll and sat on one knee
"I don't have time for this, he's going to find me, why did you pull me in her-" the spirit roared at the girl in anger, making Kiri tense before it sat and stared at the girl.
"I can give you more power but at a cost, you will not be able to fully control it, but it will give you the power you want. Will you still seek this power, without knowing the consequences" Kiri nodding, the cat demon looked up, revealing a hilt sticking from her neck
"then pull this blade from my neck, put understand in doing so, you are stepping into a place i cannot not help you" an ominous silence filling the air as Kiri walked over to her Zanpakuto. Placing two hands on the hilt, Kiri pulled the blade out revealing a Greek spartan blade, made of glowing orangy-red crystal. Her spirit leaving and returning to the lava waterfall, she turned and looked at Kiri
"Good luck..." before walking into the lava.
Feeling herself get ripped away from her inner world, she was suddenly in pitch black before seeing a small flame. Moving to touch it, as her fingers made contact she caught on fire. On the outside, she was covered in flames, eyes closed, anyone around would feel absolute dread.
"Queen...of Destruction..." On the floor, her broken arm seemed to be healed as she dipped her hand into her chest and pulled the blade out. Floating up, the flames stopped for a moment before the barracks brighten in a pure blood red light. The air seemed to shake, Kiri unable to control her spiritual energy. Dark red seemed to seep out of the sword, coating itself onto Kiri. Once done, it splattered everywhere, revealing her new Bankai form, coat/armor and all.
Mitsue had been hard at work as per usual, the sound of paper crinkling in frustration betwixt the sighs and groans of frustrations that arose out of his mouth. His finger flicked at the cigarette that rested on his dry fingers sprinkling ash all over the floor and table he was comfortable sat at. A hand strayed through his hair and rested on his temple as he contemplated how he was going to finish this never-ending paperwork. It was always like this, sometimes Mitsue believed his captain had recruited him not because he saw potential residing in him, but instead for his shallower preference in not having to do a lick of paperwork. Regardless of why he was chosen he accepted his fate all the same and besides Mitsue was used to this kind of work.
”Good grief, this work is so annoying…I guess Cap wouldn’t mind if I took a break or two” he said whilst checking how close he was to empty in cigarettes.
The air was thick with tension, there was something going on behind the scenes of the Gotei 13. Something Mitsue was sentient of but lacking the means to prove his hunch was anything more than a gut reaction to his primal instincts. The captains of each division were acting strange, almost distant or perhaps that was just his own and he was projecting his thoughts onto the larger sample size. Standing up he made his way out his living arrangement and decided to smoke another stick, this time in the serenity of the still night the cool wind blowing on his skin. It was quiet, almost too quiet, but there wasn’t much to be seen or heard at this time of night anyways. The cool breeze started to swell as if something or someone was strengthening the current and temperature. The light on his cigarette was extinguished almost as soon as he lit it. A cold shiver ran down his spine alerting him that air around him was no normal autumn breeze, instead something much more sinister.
Mitsue alarmed, decided to follow the source of the energy he felt vibrating around him as if were calling out for help. Rather than alert anyone else and waste time, Mitsue rushed towards the source using his mastery over hoho. The closer he got the more overwhelming pressure he could feel, it was coming from three sources…no now it was only two. His forehead creased with confusion while his mind tried to process what was happening. The acrid stench of crimson ichor assaulted his nostrils almost singeing the hair within. Out of instinct his hand rose to cover his face in protection as if were possible to filter out such a stench with just the fibers of his robe. The light at the end of the tunnel revealed itself and he was left in an all too familiar scene. Blood was splattered all across the area, walls lined with bodies of the innocent, and at the center of it all was one enraged Matsurada engulfed in a golden reiatsu that threatened to swallow everything around him in the jaws of his dragon.
The bloodlust was fixed upon Okirigae who laid there lifeless almost catatonic, now they had never been close, but the scene did something to Mitsue. A shutter effect bled in the repressed image of the bodies that laid executed in his home. Okirigae becoming the image of his sister who also laid there lifeless unable to defend herself. Naturally something like this would freeze a man yet having the perpetrator still in the area allowed Mitsue to react. His hands clasped onto the hilt of his sword allowing his reiatsu to explode outward. If Matsurada hadn’t noticed him before, the image of a very angry goddess with eyes ablaze would make him reconsider.
“Terasu, Megami Theia!” he uttered, releasing his Shikai in attempt to save Kiri before a final blow could be dealt. While he did his best to hold off Matsurada, he could feel Okirigae raising from the dead behind him revitalized in an explosion of strength unaware of his shining presence.
Matsurada stopped, looking amused at the boy
"when did my student get a friend? And a strong one at that, color me impressed" the man once again stepping forward and almost instantly disappearing leaving Mitsue with an impossible still Okirigae. Both of them would feel his moves only weakness, that sudden sense of pure death, the girl still motionless leaving Mitsue to deal with the captain on his own.
Mitsue was never one for patronizing figures and Matsurada oozed of it. He couldn’t tell if the coloring line was a joke referencing Mitsue’s own skill set, but even if he was still not a fan. “I guess right around the same time Captains decided to turn coat” the disparity between the two’s strength was clear and while Mitsue had not gone all out yet he knew the gravity of the peril that awaited both Kiri and him. Not one second later did her Captain suddenly along with his explosive aura, keeping on guard he did manage to turn to face Okirigae who was looking well worse for wear.
“What happened? Can you hear me Okirigae? I’m going to get you some help just breathe and don’t do anything reckless, yeah?” "Be quiet for one second, I can't focus if you talk…" she closed her eyes again, feeling this burning sensation in her bones she knew she could only hold her Bankai for a few minutes tops. And to make matters worse, she had to make sure Matsurada wouldn't skewer this guy. While his bravery impressed the girl, there was such a thing as too brave. Opening her eyes wide, the air seemed to vibrate again, making her pull the man back next to her. On queue the ground where he stood was obliterated by a powerful slash. "This is not good, he's not after me anymor-" raising her sword, she narrowly blocked a kick that sent her flying into a distant building, leaving Mitsue on his own again.
Her snap caused Mitsue to flinch in confusion not knowing how to address the girl he thought he saved. Deciding it was better to say nothing he allowed the girl to focus, if anyone knew this man intimately it was her and her alone. Out of his peripheral vision he saw one of his prisms broadcasting the resurgence of Matsurada. Before he could act the girl pulled him in close staining his jacket and everything else red.
Good grief and just before she could say anything else she was sent flying into a thunderous crash against the adjacent building.
“You know it’s not very nice to hit a lady. I guess I’ll just have to be your opponent, Magarikuneru” he whispered, two dozen prisms appeared all scattered about the area. A beam of light jet out his finger hitting the first prism then bouncing to the next looking to find and subdue the evasive captain.
Matsurada scoffed at the prisms and light show this new friend of Kiri was trying to perform. In a show of power he reappeared striking and destroying the prisms surrounding him while easily dodging away from the beam of light.
"You’re going to have to be faster than that” he spat while laughing.
This was good for Mitsue, he was used to this breed of arrogance who relied on raw strength and evasion. It’s what made him so strong against them and his level of taunting was around the same as Matsurada’s. Luckily for him Kiri had done all the hard work up until now, stripping him of his armor and leaving a cut on his arm, Mitsue didn’t have to win it was ludicrous to think he could, he just needed to buy time.
“I wasn’t aiming at you” he said before pointing behind Matsurada. The beam that narrowly missed him was intended for the prism in the distance behind him. The beam of light curved around and shot back straight at the backside of Matsurada.
The feigned attack did catch him off guard, Matsurada attempted to dodge. However the beam pierced clean through his shoulder. While it hit nowhere vital it was enough to sting and only further the anger in Matsurada. Instead of slowing down he only went faster sending a thunderous knee to the guy of Mitsue, streaks of light escaping like lightning.
"You pests are really starting to piss me off” he said waiting for Mitsue to recover.
The crackling of light was no coincidence but rather the shattering of prisms in reflective light. While Matsurada had been focused on the beam Mitsue had already set up his hologram in his place.
“I thought bulls could only see in red” he said appearing once more shooting another beam of light at the broken prism shards. The beams reflected off the light in small granular pellets in an almost shotgun effect due to the small size and abundance of shattered glass.
The annoying bites into his flesh reminded him of bees stinging a bear. In the same fashion Matsurada roared in rebellion taking off in the direction of Mitsue. Before Mitsue could counter Matsurada’s immense spiritual pressure lashed out in a wave dispersing all the prisms Mitsue had. There was no time to use an ability he was trapped, all for a reckless girl.
Matsurada appeared behind the boy, he felt the same effects Kiri felt earlier, as if he was stuck in quicksand, unable to move or react. The captain's sword glowed gold, gripping the hilt with both hands. Breathing in, he swung with behemoth strength downward towards the boy
"Jisatsu Suingu...". World around them bathed in light, once gone Matsurada looked to see not only had he not hit Mitsue, but Kiri stood back against his, blocking the devastating attack. Matsurada's blade had made contact with the girls shoulder, blood spewing out of her shoulder, but the girl had successfully saved Mitsue.
"Thank you...i'll take it from here, sorry for the inconvenience" she disappeared, reappearing grabbing Matsurada's face and disappearing again, leaving Mitsue to his own devices once again, silence falling over 10th Divisions barracks.
Everything happened all at once, the sudden sense of death looming over him countered by divine intervention with Kiri at the head. Moved and displaced once again by the girl he couldn’t help but feel like she was the one saving him instead of the other way around. Surrounded by silence he checked his prisms and saw through the ones he attached to Kiri before she got knocked away the first time. “I better go find Taro and our Captains.”
Taking him back to the craters left in their last clash, Matsurada had moved out of her hands, almost startled by the way the girl seemed to have increased her upper limits again. She had finally reached her bankai but from what he could feel and see, she had no control over it. He grinned with approval
"it's time my student, one blow will decide this fight" he held his sword with both hands, the air seeming to fly in towards the man.
"Desumessenjā" the tattoo dragon that resided on his body flew off and grew in size. Flying upwards, it turned and opened its mouth, soaring down back at Matsurada. Seeming to swallow him, the dragon exploded into a mist of gold, revealing his bankai form, a
golden samurai with a dragon maskStanding in silence the wind moving around them. This was the final moments of their fight, neither able to control their Bankai form for long.
"Jigoku No Iki…""Joo No Sabaki..."Both of them speaking in unison, anything not tied down to the earth in the area starting to float. To any onlookers, their Zanpakuto's seemed to be behind them, glowing their respective colors of their energy. Running at each other, the ground exploded with each foot stop behind them, both Shinigami putting everything into this final move. Almost in slow motion Matsurada watched as his student bounded towards him. He knew he would win this fight, even with Kiri reaching bankai, her lack of control over it showed. In these final moments, it felt as though he was going through the girls life with each step. As they neared closer, their energy clashed off each other, causing the area around to further get destroyed. Words of his dead Lieutenant rang through his body
"do you really think she'll be able to kill her mentor, the person who gave her a reason to live. I understand you want her to become the next Kenpachi but you don't realize how much she loves you, just something to think about captain…" his heart feeling a twinge of regret. Coming within feet of each other, Matsurada raised his sword above his head, Kiri swinging from the side. It was until they're blades when inches from each other that Matsurada held back.
Blades colliding, they're raw power met each other with incredible force. Their Zanpakuto spirit colliding around them, they were engulfed in an unending pillar of gold and deep red. Inside, they stood locked in their clash, surrounded by pure white. The destroyed forest and ground pulled into the pillar and burning into ash. First the clothing on their arms began to rip, severe burning snaking from the hilt of their swords down their arms. The mans masked was ripped from his face and met with Okirigae's. This was the first time he had ever seen the girls eyes so emotional. As the burns started to reach their torsos, Matsurada felt his sword crack under the girls power, until finally shattering his bankai. Stripping him of the armor, his zanpakuto started to crack, before splintering into hundreds of pieces. Feeling the budge, Kiri's slash suddenly feeling no resistance, cutting through the man, the battle finally over. In flashy explosion, the sky was painted red, Matsuradas gold energy snuffed out.
"Damn good job kid..." the man croaked out before falling to his knees, his zanpakuto falling in front of him surrounded by its shattered blade. Blood erupted from his wound, however being a deep black, it started to slither across his body unnatural, Kiri's move taking effect. Kiri walking over to her dying captain, the girl felt a tear fall from her eye, before suddenly unable to stop
"are you crying? What kind of student of Matsurada cries at their opponents death. Stop you’re fuckin cryin-""Why did you hold back captain? You should have won, but you slowed down at the last second...why did you let me win?" The girl almost angry with the outcome and the man's choice to let her win. She didn't earn his title, and she didn't want the mans pity either
"why are you leaving me to deal with all this mess, I never asked or wanted thi-""JESUS CHRIST SHUT UP…" the man frustrated he couldn't get his last words in as the black blood slowly started up his neck, the last place to be covered being his face
"life isn't fair, oh well, but it's your job now to pick up the pieces of division 11, and as my last order as your captain, you're going to deal with it and become even greater, you got that?" Till his dying breath, no matter what he did, he was her mentor. With a smug smile, the black blood finally reached his mouth, before suddenly engulfing him completely. Leaving behind a solid black statue of the man, his shattered sword in front of him, making it look like a shrine to the man. Falling to her knees, she felt her heart beat once, before rage and anger filled her head. Dropping her sword, she grabbed her head and screamed in agony. Almost in a sphere of influence, her spiritual energy formed a sphere around her and the captain. The area outside beginning lift, her lack of control with her bankai had began to take its toll on her. Beginning to destroy everything outside of the sphere, a broken Kiri in pain at the epicenter.
