Why did you join X-Factor?: She was approached five months ago, after the military contractor that had made her in the first place turned on her, and tried to shut her down. She didn't have any other options really to go from there. So she accepted and joined Serval Industries, she didn't really do to much during what happened at the gala that Serval had going on, she was out of the building at the time when it all happened as well.

General History: Caitlin was originally born and raised in New York City with her parents. Her mother was a high school teacher while her father was a police officer for the NYPD, she had a pretty normal life for the most part being very smart as well. Caitlin got really good grades and she was really good in her math and science classes. She didn't have to many friends, Caitlin when she graduated eventually decided to join the military out of boredom and wanted to do something interesting.

She was eventually deployed out to somewhere in the Middle East, where her vehicle hit an IED which caused her vehicle to explode. Killing everyone, she barely survived when a private military contractor ended up finding her, with some of the best medical experts around they ended up replacing her with cybernetics to keep her alive. When she came to she had no memory of who she was, and then they ended up giving her a new name as well and a false story to.

They ended up giving her going on missions privately assassinating targets, she eventually had a contract up in New York where she ended up bumping into her mother. Who tried to talk to her after thinking that she was dead, and ended up ignoring her. Casey continued to go on her own mission until it was done, and when she returned and confronted them about it.

They tried to shut her down and wipe her memory of what had happened and tried to start again Casey ended up fleeing and has been on the run ever since, and having to live on the streets for sometime now as well. She did just about anything she could to stay low until she ended up being approached by Serval with their job offer, which she accepted wanting some extra protection.

Daryn, is quite often found smiling, even when things are gloomy. Throughout his life he has maintained a positive demeanour, always trying to find the best in things. Why did you join X-Factor?:
Daryn mainly joined X-Factor because he thought that he could do more. As an independent hero, he found that he was not accomplishing much in the way of making the world safer. He thought with a team he could make more a difference. The other major reason was the financial compensation. Daryn had a hard time providing for his son, something that infuriated him to no end. Not wanting to be a dead beat dad, Daryn was willing to try anything to be there for his son.

General History:
Daryn was born the second child of Lucas and Billie Reid, in the city of Spokane, Washington. Daryn would only live there for two months before moving. His mother Billie had a job that required the family to relocated a lot, causing Daryn to have trouble making friends as a kid. The only person he was close to was his older brother Peter, as they were less than two years apart in age. One thing that was constant throughout the brothers’ youth was a love of video games and sports. It wasn’t too long before Peter joined a basketball team, while Daryn joined a football team.

Daryn quickly found that being a student athlete made it easier for him to connect with others, something he had been missing out on. Another thing he found out was that he was different than his fellow students. It began with spoons being bent out of shape, then progressed to warping the faucet on the sink. It quickly dawned on Daryn that he was a mutant. He was initially fearful of anyone finding out, swearing to never use his powers. For a few months he was able to hide his powers, never using them consciously.

That changed one day when Daryn was crossing the street, when a drunk driver came barrelling toward him. Acting on instinct, Daryn used his powers the repel the metal of the car back, saving his life. Unbeknown to Daryn, his brother had seen the whole incident. The next day, his parents sat Daryn down to talk about his powers. However, they weren’t angry, just accepting. They didn’t care that one son was human and the other a mutant. This revelation took a heavy weight off Daryn’s shoulders.

It was around this time that he began seeing a girl named Rita, with things getting pretty serious. Shortly after the start of that relationship the Avengers first appeared, repelling an alien invasion. This caused Daryn to get the idea in his head to become a superhero himself. Daryn then created the alter ego of the Blacksmith, hero to his local city.. He had only been patrolling the city for about a month when he got life-changing news. Rita was pregnant. Daryn immediately dedicated himself to being a father. Things were fine until a few months into the pregnancy, when Rita discovered the truth of Daryn’s alter ego. The ensuing confrontation led to Rita leaving Daryn.

Daryn then graduated high school, before moving onto college for computer programming. However, right before he was supposed to begin college, his son Jackson was born. Daryn did all he could to support his son, while also balancing school and heroics. Daryn somehow made it work, graduating from college, only to find poor job prospects. This led him to pursuing more independent projects, all the while struggling with child care payments. Add on to that a growing dissatisfaction over what he was accomplishing as the Blacksmith, led Daryn to a low point. Luckily for him, a job offer appeared, one for Serval Industries’ superhero team. Naturally, Daryn immediately agreed.

Personality: While Arthur has changed a great deal in the last five years, one thing has remained the same - he always assumes that he is right and everyone else is wrong. He can rationalize to no end his motivations and choices, giving himself the moral high ground even if he is really no different than any other vigilante out there in the world. He does not accept the limitations of reality, working tirelessly to find a way to push through them. There is no changing his mind, no stopping him... The only way that he will really see the error in his ways is if the consequences catch up to him. Even then, the process of learning and maturing can be long and difficult.

Despite the tragedy of his life, Arthur is a rather funny individual. He has a good sarcastic wit, as well as just being humorous in general - Die Hard is his favorite Christmas movie for example. He has been known to pull the occasional prank or two, usually against his friends. Those are the people that Arthur can really let his guard down again, to regain some semblance of the man he used to be before Krakoa forced him to change in order to survive. Why did you join X-Factor?: Arthur has yet to join the X-Factor team. He has been tracking down the Sisterhood ever since learning that they were responsible for the deaths of his friends and his father, as well as stranding him on Krakoa for years. They ruined his life and they need to pay - he needs to bring those murderers to justice. So far, Arthur is almost certain that Rae Gardner is a significant player in the Sisterhood, especially since she was named CEO of Serval Industries. It's only a matter of time until he puts an arrow between her eyes.

General History: Arthur's mother was the CFO of Serval Industries since its founding. She had gone to college with Harrison Snow and the two of them were rather close, with Snow even being the Best Man at her wedding. Of course, the closeness between them went deeper than the public realized, as the two of them carried on an extramarital affair that resulted in baby Arthur. No one knew the truth, with the exception of Snow's personal attorney as Arthur was written into the will. This small action would have large repercussions later on in Arthur's life.

Arthur was sent to boarding school for his education, attending McClaine Academy in Massachusetts. His social circle consisted entirely of the wealthy elite and like privileged boys, they abused their freedom. He and his best friend got a reputation for being able to smuggle anything back to the academy - drugs, booze, condoms, porn, if you could make it worth their while then they would bring it back. This resulted in his near expulsion as a rising senior, only for his parents to make a well timed donation to the school in order to continue his enrollment (the Twist Performing Arts Center to be specific).

His playboy, partying antics continued in college. He attended three different colleges, each of them as a business major. His parents insisted that he had to go, but he kept on being thrown out for poor academic progress - he just couldn't be bothered to go to class, preferring to party. He spent more nights in the drunk tank for disorderly conduct than he ever did inside his dorm room. All of that changed when he was twenty two. Arthur and his friends had purchased a yacht with plans to sail it to Hawaii. The first few days of the trip were smooth sailing, but at midnight on the fifth day there was a tragic accident, resulting in the death of everyone onboard. Arthur was the only one to survive, clinging to a piece of driftwood for days before making it to an island for shelter.

Only this was hardly any ordinary island - the island's name was Krakoa. The island itself was alive, formidable enough that not even the X-Men dared to venture there. Arthur was forced to grow up and to learn to survive on its harsh shores, searching through the belongings of others who had died on the island in order to get weapons and supplies. The first weapon he found was a bow and it was fortunate that he had some natural talent with it, or he would have never survived.

It was five years until he managed to signal another ship for help and escape Krakoa. When he returned to the United States, he realized that he had been declared legally dead - and more importantly, he discovered that his shipwreck hadn't been an accident. It had been orchestrated by a mysterious organization called the Sisterhood, as an attempt to prevent him from inheriting his father's company and fortune. He didn't even know until then that Snow was his father. And unfortunately, it was too late - Snow had been murdered and Arthur didn't need proof to know who was responsible.

His mission ever since had been to avenge his father's death - to end the Sisterhood.

When someone meets Elara, she appears to be a normal, albeit quiet person. Once they get to know her more, they see many sides to her. First, there’s the side that is always in her head. The one that is silent and always needs to be doing something to relax. Then the side that feels emotions very strongly, whether its in defense of another or just trying to get her point across Elara is always there to speak up. Deep down inside, Elara is actually a warm, inviting person. It just takes a bit of time to reveal itself.

Elara is always thinking. She often needs to calm her mind, which is why she either reads, runs, hikes, or tinkers with brainteasers. While she isn’t the smartest in the room, she often relies on her mind to tell her what to do instead of her emotions. It is only when others are in danger that her emotions take over.

Elara feels very strongly about the safety of others, and it’s the main reason she continues to use her abilities. She is always ready to defend those who cannot defend themselves even if it means putting herself at risk. She easily relates to those that are suffering, and will always care for others in her own quiet way.

Unfortunately she is quite blunt when she speaks her mind, as little as she does. If she needs to get her point across, she will say exactly whats on her mind. Otherwise, she normally keeps her thoughts to herself.

Her sister was always the one to remind her to relax and to open up herself. Since losing Elyse it has been hard for Elara to open up, which is why she focuses on work or exercises to release tension. Why did you join X-Factor?: Elara believes that her abilities manifested for a purpose. After spending a few years fighting crime with her abilities, she has decided to become a part of the larger picture. She hopes to help as many people as possible, and if Serval Industries can help her do that she is willing to do as she’s told.

General History: To grow up in San Diego felt like a never-ending vacation to Elara. She still had responsibilities like school and chores, but homework never challenged her and helping her dad around the house was something she enjoyed. Her home consisted of herself, her twin sister Elyse, and her father. Her mother had walked out on them at a young age, but that never bothered her much. The bond between the three of them was unbreakable. They spent almost every moment together when she was young; they went hiking, spent most weekends on the beach, and took trips often.

In middle school her father accepted a promotion in order to make ends meet, which meant that he would spend less time with them. No more ice cream after school, weekends in the mountains, or movie nights. The sisters missed their father, but they knew that he was just looking out for them. Even if it meant that they had one less person to rely on.

The sisters now spent most of their free time together. Their bond grew stronger, and they did almost everything together. Although they were twins, Elara and Elyse were polar opposites. Elara was focused on school and thought about her actions, while Elyse was barely concerned with homework and let her emotions guide her. The two balanced each other's personalities well. Elara helped Elyse with her homework, and Elyse taught Elara how to laugh at the hard times. They were inseparable by high school. Even though they had different friend groups and interests, they were always together at the end of the day.

When their graduation came around, Elara was second to the top of their class and headed off to a nearby university. Elyse on the other hand managed to graduate with her sisters help, and planned to pursue a music career while working full-time at a nearby radio station. The two had bright futures ahead of them, and their father was proud. He gifted each of them matching necklaces with the letter EW engraved on the back to represent their initials. It was meant to be a reminder of their home and family, and the two vowed to wear them every day.

Flashing forward two years, Elara had just finished her second year of college in study of psychology. She comes home for summer break to spend it with her father and Elyse; the latter is still living at home to save money for her big move to Los Angeles at the end of the year. The two sisters decided to take a trip into the mountains to hike their favorite spot, and after a fond goodbye from their father they headed off. Unfortunately, the two never made it. As Elyse drove up a windy road on the side of the mountain, a speeding truck swung around a corner and collided head on with their car.

Elara's memory of the crash is limited, but she wouldn't tell you what she saw during those few minutes of being conscious. The next thing she remembers is waking in the hospital to her father's hollow eyes. First she hears that she's been in a coma for a week, then that she'd fractured her spinal cord. Apparently she should have died from the pain alone, but Elara didn't remember feeling any pain. The next news wasn't of much shock to her, but still filled her heart with anguish. Elyse had died during the crash.

After the crash, Elara didn't return to school. She stayed home with her father, unemployed for a few months to recover from her emotional and physical injuries. She avoided getting in cars like the plague, and when she eventually got a job she rode the metro or biked. She began to notice odd things about herself; her powers had manifested during the crash and were slowly revealing themselves to her at different moments.

She discovered the extent of her powers one night after walking towards the metro station. One unfortunate mugger was left trembling on the ground as Elara ran as fast as she could. She wasn’t exactly sure what had happened, but she knew that it had come from deep inside of her.

Desperate to discover more, Elara began going on long “walks” after work. Once she learned to control her ability, her long “walks” turned into late night vigilantism. The years went on, and instead of returning to school to finish her degree, she continued to work full time and fought crime at night. She moved out when her father began to wonder where she was going at night. While their bond was still as strong as ever, the loss of her sister created a hole in their lives.

Now, after turning 24 a month ago, Elara has accepted a new job in Virginia. Although it is a whole country away from her father and home, she plans to do more with her powers than stop petty crime. Plus, her identity was close to being discovered in San Diego anyways. She’d earned the titles of Mirage and Vertigo, and has decided to live under those titles at Serval Industries.
