Washington D.C.: September 10th, 2020 - 10:50 AM

The Amtrak Station...

It wouldn't take Anastasia too long to get Ksenia's restraints undone, but they were running out of time. If they didn't leave within the next ten minutes, it was almost certain that the authorities would notice that the train had been delayed. In order to stage this as a jail-break and not an abduction with an accompanying massacre, they'd need to move fast. The mutants Jinx freed looked around with wide eyes, as if seeing for the first time in their lives, and they quickly thanked Jinx and Anastasia before eagerly rushing the exit of the train car.

In the next car, Jinx would find another cage just as described, this one branded with the letter alpha. Inside was a petite girl with strange, glowing white eyes. She must have been David's sister and the only daughter of the famed Professor Xavier - Valentine Haller.

JFK Memorial Hospital - Gift Shop...

Vulcan was bleeding significantly from the wound Sapphire had inflicted with her ice dagger, but he wasn't down for the count just yet. He didn't seem that concerned by the wound - maybe Sapphire had damaged a nerve and he just couldn't feel it, or perhaps it was something extra that Shaw and the others had done to him. The villain was even smirking at Cayden's pain, proud of his handiwork with the energy blast. "You're going to have to do waaaay better than that," he taunted, before sending off more and more preemptive blasts. They missed all of the Mutant Underground members, with Colossus rising to his feet again.

"Really, Piotr? Back for more?" Vulcan taunted.

"Da. I could do this all day," Colossus answered, spitting at Vulcan's feet. Just as he was about to charge, a horrible, terrible idea came into Casper's mind and he rushed forward directly into the fray.

"Casper what the hell are you doing!!!!" Ben shouted.

Casper held out his hand, as if he somehow had a power that would let him blast Vulcan. "Leave him alone or I'll kill you," Casper bluffed. "You've probably heard of me - Legion, son of Professor X," he boasted.

"...You're pretending to be David. This is a horrible plan. He is going to kill you."

"So surrender or face my wrath, okay?"

The Cherry Bomb - Basement...

Sunshine pretended to brush off Jack's correction, though it truthfully bothered her slightly. She didn't know why it gave her a slight uneasy feeling, almost like she had eaten food from a trash can and gambled on its quality. However, Spark Plug ruffling her hair caused Sunshine to tense her shoulders up, like a turtle retracting its head back into its shell. "Can you please not touch my hair," she requested, phrasing it like a question but by her tone of voice it was clear she was annoyed about it. "I'm almost eighteen. I'm not five."

Veil smiled slightly at Leighton's description of her work - sure, she wasn't a fan of Leighton basically implying sexual favors in order to get what she wanted, but it was a clever tactic... and clearly an effective one at that. "Shaw and whoever else is running this operation, they know we're here by now - might as well go the more direct approach," she reasoned. Stealth had gone out of the window after Nightcrawler showed up to attack them, especially since the bar had been "closed for the day" by the owners. "But Glimpse, could you do a quick scan, see how many warm bodies we got down here?"

The young mutant's eyes narrowed as Max insulted her, turning from the secret elevator entrance to stare at the poncho wearing fool. "Why don't you go back to to your privileged, rich-ass life of fashion shows and runaways, asshole!" she screamed back at Max. Her face was scrunched up as Sunshine created a little green ball of smoke and she pegged Max with it, giving him a hearty cough. It wasn't going to really slow him down or anything, but it would make communication at the very least harder. He was lucky - she hadn't been aiming for something so mild. "So you can shut your pig mouth!"

"Hey, hey kid," Havok said instantly, putting a hand on Sunshine's shoulder. She flinched and jerked away. "He's an idiot, okay? And not worth the time or effort." Had Max not insulted him, Havok might have sided with Max on Sunshine's mannerisms - but since Max had lumped them together in that tirade, they were on the same side, the same team.

"ENOUGH!" Veil shouted, not caring that they were in enemy territory. "I get it, everyone here hates each other. But if you guys can't put aside your differences long enough to work together, then leave. This isn't some game. This isn't playing X-Men or Avengers - it's real and if you all keep on squabbling, someone is going to get killed. We all might get killed. Understood?" she snapped, looking at each person in turn.

Now, Sunshine wanted to avenge Erg's death more than she wanted to torment Max, so she nodded slightly at Veil, not answering verbally. "You got it," Havok answered, eyeing Max and wondering what he would do.

Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: The Hospital
Skills: Hiding

Once Waverley was out of the ambulance, it didn't take long for her to rush to her team's car. It'd been a while since she had last drive, but she knew how, and was licensed. She pulled up to the front of the hospital, and waited for a few moments. She watched the door intently, waiting for her colleagues to come out. After what felt like an eternity of waiting, but in actuality was only about twenty or so seconds, Waverley parked the car, and hopped out. As she drew near to the hospital door, she peaked through the glass to see Vulcan still standing, and Cayden flying through the air, colliding into the wall on the other side of the room. She could hear his screams from outside, and they froze her: they sounded like pure agony.

It caused her to pause for a moment. She considered going back to the car. It wasn't like she could do anything anyway. Especially since she left her rebar in the car. But she quickly shook her head. If she took him down once, she thought, she could do it again. She pulled one of the syringes from her pocket, as well as some sedative. Once she'd filled the needle up, she lowered herself into a crouch, and slid into the hospital. She dodged from cover to cover, from pillar to waiting room chairs, getting closer to Vulcan bit by bit. The scraggly guy, luckily, stepped forward, drawing Vulcan's attention, which was enough for Waverley to take the few steps she needed to get to their assailant. As soon as she was close enough, She plunged the needle into his neck, pushing the contents into him. But he didn't fall. Instead, she felt his hand curl around hers, and her eyes grew wide with terror. She could feel the familiar feeling of a twisting inside her chest and shortness of breath, but before it got any worse, the man let go of her arm, and clutched his chest. Waverley instinctively backpetaled, leaving the needle sticking out of his neck.

"It...It worked!" She shouted, her lips turning upward into a relieved grin. But after a few seconds, her smile dropped. "Wait...this...this doesn't seem right. I-I thought he'd just, like, pass out! What's happening to him?!"

Sapphire

Location: The Hospital
Skills Medical Knowledge

Sapphire was not too thrilled at Vulcan acting like he was better then him, that injury she had given him should have taken him down already, but it didn't for some strange reason. James tried to knock the guy out with a cash register of all things. That was just a dumb thing to do in her opinion, and it hadn't surprised her at all that Vulcan had essentially managed to grab onto him. Casper was acting a bit stupid in her opinion, like why would you just essentially "threaten" like that without obviously proving something? At least Waverly seemed to have a decent idea and had gotten a sedative to knock him out. However, the instant he clutched at his chest she knew that something was wrong.

"Did you remember to get the air out of the syringe and needle? Also where exactly did you hit him with that? It doesn't really matter but it would determine whether or not you caused a venous air embolism or a arterial air embolism," Sapphire said as she raced over, ignoring everyone else at this point. She had gone full on medical textbook at this point, and she grabbed onto Vulcan and more or less lowered him to the ground, before she yanked her coat off. "He's suffering from a Myocardial infarction, hence why he clutched at his chest. Someone go into the gift shop and see if there is any aspirin in there now!" she snapped instantly as she yanked her coat off and used it to stop the bleeding that she had caused earlier. They needed to keep the blood flow going and stop the blood clotting somewhat, which was something her powers weren't exactly good at. Sure, she had severely injured the guy, but she wasn't going to let him die.

Jack Theriot

Location: Basement of the Bar-> Creepy mansion like place
Skills N/A

Jack was getting a bit tired of everyone sitting there arguing. It was seemingly common to him, and now he was more or less just wanting to get away from everyone else, no matter how reckless it was. "You all need to stop alright? And Max, lighten up, since might I remind you that usually the first thing you want to do is create light when a room is dark unless you have night vision, which from what I know, no one does. I get it, you are annoyed, most people are, hell you all are driving me crazy with all of this yelling, but that is just my thoughts on it. You won't get better at your powers unless you try to use them for small things, like creating a light source. Now if you all don't mind I'm going to do something reckless," he said, before he simply stepped into the elevator and hit the button to go down, waving slightly at the group as the door shut.

When the doors opened up again, he froze slightly, seeing the room around him.

There were 7 different hallways heading off in different directions and he was in the middle of a circular room. There were weird things all around the room, looked like that weird museum from the Freak Show season of American Horror Story. Then there was what looked to be various pieces of stolen artwork lining the room as well. "...Well isn't this a bit creepy..." he muttered under his breath, before he heard music coming from the hallway directly in front of him. Making his way slowly forward, he made his way to the room ahead, and found himself in a music room of sorts, with the piano playing itself. Seeing something on the piano, he walked over and picked it up, a file labeled with the name E. Theriot, and when he opened it up, all he saw was a picture of a baby. That certainly was weird, as the rest of the file was empty.

Then there was the sound of the door shutting behind him.

Turning around to face the door, he raced over slightly and tried to open it, but it seemed like the door was locked behind him. "Damn it," he muttered, trying to get the door open and failing at it. He was trapped in that room, with no way to get out at the moment. Now what exactly was he supposed to do, considering he just walked right into a weird villain lair of sorts that was some freakish museum slash old mansion sort of place, and now he was trapped in a room with a piano that apparently was playing itself.

James Kingston

Location: The Hospital
Skills: Accelerated Healing Factor

James watched in horror as the blasts seared Cayden’s face. The screaming tore at his ears but he forced himself to focus on Vulcan. As much as he itched to help Cayden, Vulcun was clearly in his element and anyone turning their backs on him may as well sign their own death warrant. Casper’s stunt confused James more than anything honestly. Was Casper’s secret code name Legion or was the man impersonating his own brother? Either way, James was not particularly confident that it would make much of a…

Vulcan was down, clutching at his chest and Waverly was standing above him with a needle in her hand. Sapphire was going on about some medical term and demanding Aspirin but that hit the back burner. In his opinion, they should just fucking tell the hospital employees in the hospital attached to the hospital gift shop and then get out of town. There’s no way the cops aren’t already half way here with this shit show going on. They needed to get a move on and they needed to get that move on yesterday. Not that he voiced that. He probably didn’t need any more reason for her to dislike him as it was.

But all of that was secondary. Cayden’s screaming forced itseld back to the forefront of his mind. He hadn’t realized he’d made his way over to him already but he hit his knees as fast as he could. “I got you. Give me a second and I’ll take the pain away. Hold on to me, here we go.” James moved Cayen’s hands away from his face, guiding them to hold his wrists as James tried to sync up with Cayden. His heart was pounding in his ears, adding an extra edge to the cacophony spitting his head apart. It made it difficult to focus but he pushed through, watching the burns heal seamlessly across his face with a sigh of relief. He stood, offering Cayden a helping hand up.

“Hey Feedback, any chance you can figure out how far away the cops are?” James asked.

Callie Johnson

Location: Washington DC, The Cherry Bomb, Basement
Skills: Car Mechanics

Callie turned to look at Luna when she said that this place was owned by Shaw and then someone else, who she didn't know of but it was owned by Shaw regardless. "Well it's something at least." Callie said to her, and turned to look at Max glaring a little bit when he snapped at everyone pretty much though she had a feeling it was mostly aimed at Sunshine. She could tell that Sunshine got annoyed when she messed with her hair, knowing that the girl could make anyone sick out of spite she decided to not do it again. "Sure thing." Callie said, when Veil snapped again.

They all did need to work together as a team, and the constant fighting didn't turn out to well either she decided to not say anything either. Then Jack decided to go into the elevator first, sighing slightly she wasn't sure what was to be expected down there either and looked to the others. "Lets just head down there." Callie said, as soon as she pressed the elevator button again, and waited for it to come up again. When it did, she held the door open for anyone who wanted to get in, she then pressed the button to go down until the elevator came to a stop.

Callie stepped out of the elevator and started to look around seeing the weird oddities that were in the room which made her cringe slightly seeing some of them. "Well this is certainly an evil villains lair." Callie said, when she started to smell some kind of oil and looked around Jack wasn't there at all. He probably had gone down one of the hallways, she decided to go and check the source of the smell. Eventually finding a whole mechanic's workshop down here which was pretty weird how did they even get the classic cars down here in the first place. She decided investigate the cars a little bit more closely, the classic cars were genuinely real she checked the tires noticing how worn they were. When she suddenly heard the door she entered slam shut behind her, and quickly ran over towards it only to find out to be locked. "Well that's just fucking great." Callie muttered to herself.

Leighton Brooks

Location: The Cherry Bomb - Washington D.C. (Basement)
Skills N/A

Leighton could cut the tension in the room with a knife as Max unleashed a horde of emotion he had been holding in. And Leighton couldn't rightly blame him. Havok, as cute as he was, was a douchebag. And she didn't even want to get started on her dislike of Sunshine. The girl had a lot more than mean words coming her way. But Veil broke it down and Leighton didn't feel right adding her two cents. After all, she was not the leader here. If she wanted to prove she could be a team member, especially if it defied Sapphire's view on her, she had to bite her tongue.

But Jack also interrupted and proceeded to go down the elevator without them. What had she seen in him before this? Oh right, his body. And face. But aside from that, the guy was kind of a jerk. "Ok, rude." Callie called the elevator back up quickly though and Leighton stepped in along with whoever else joined them. She kept close to Max though, elbowing him gently with a smile.

Once down, Callie moved onward and Leighton followed, but her gaze hit something down a hallway. It glittered so sparkly, Leighton was almost transfixed. "Diamonds are a girl's best friend..." she said as she made her way down. Once she got closer, she saw an open door. Glancing inside, she saw what appeared to be a walk-in closet. Despite the fact it was weird for something like that to be down here, Leighton couldn't help but go in. As she did so though before she could admire what wonderful things were inside, the door closed and locked. Leighton checked it, "Shit."

Leighton felt someone watching her and she turned to see what looked like a blonde-haired woman sitting on a chaise. It took Leighton a moment to realize who it was in front of her, but she knew who it was from pictures, portraits in her family's home, and the rare Christmas visit. It was her aunt. "Leighton, dear. It's time we talked."

"Aunt Emma?" was all she could say.

Anastasia Reinhardt

Location: Train Car
Skills Perception

With David, or Ksenia or whoever the hell he was at this given moment, unshackled, and Jinx proving to be competent for once, they were able to free the mutants on the train, allowing for a nice distraction. Even though Jinx joked, he better start getting used to his subservient nature, particularly if he continued to prove useful. She could see him being a handy tool to use, provided he kept his ego and mouth in check. "Very well, let's get going." She proceeded into the next car.

Once there, there was a similar box to the one they found David in. Inside was a girl and, most likely, their target. Ana analyzed the girl, seeing if she needed to use her power again, but the girl did not appear like her brother. She looked like a girl who just wanted to get out. So Ana unlocked the box. "Valentine? We are here to free you and your brother. Allow me to unlock your restraints and then we need to proceed quickly as the authorities will be on their way soon. We have caused a distraction, but the sooner we leave, the better." Ana then began to unlock Valentine's restraints like she did David.

Maximillian Gray

Location: Cherry Bomb Basement
Skills: Conjuration New Outfit

There was an uncomfortable itch building up in the back of Max's throat. Something daring him to cough, urging him. He didn't want to give Sunshine the satisfaction and held it in, swallowing the urge until Veil had shouted. A small cough, just enough to scratch his throat escaped as the Femme of Forcefields had decided she had had enough. Max didn't expect her to understand, after all its newbies versus her own team, people she knew and trusted so why should she weigh his opinion more? As she spoke about dislike and teamwork he began to wonder where this little speech was when her very own Mrs. Frost started acting coldly to Glimpse and him. He could tell she was trying, and with the amount of times shes had to be patched up she was surely running thin; but perhaps, in his mind, she should take a breath and a day off and let another person run the show while she recuperates. Her haggard state wasn't going to help anyone, and it certainly was clouding her bias it seemed. But that was all conjecture, who was he to say what she was or wasn't. He hardly acknowledged what she said, making way for the elevator and sticking close to Leighton as he avoided speaking or making contact with the others.

On the way down he could feel Leighton bump him and offer him a smile, one he was more than happy to return. The itch still lingering in his throat as he let out another small cough, holding his fist in front of his mouth to stifle the sound. The oddities scattered about the room gave him the creeps as he nodded to Callies comment in agreeance. Veil seemed to be in her own mind, lost in thought and before Max noticed Callie was gone. What had pulled her away so quickly? He took a few more steps forward and heard the sound of what was unmistakably a Fashion Runway show. He halted for a moment, his head turned towards the hall where the noise came from before the sight of Leighton leaving caught his peripheral. Splitting up was never a good idea, so naturally Max turned and followed after her. Before he could make it in the room however, the door slammed shut and it appeared to be locked. He pressed his ear against the door and heard no sound. Max began to pound on the door hoping for a response before he rushed back to the group in front of Veil. "Leightons cough locked behind a cough door. I cant get her cough out." Sunshine may of meant little harm with her coughing fit, but with his speech now impaired he could hardly speak the words to use his powers, and now Leighton was left alone, as well as Jack and Callie.

Peter Jackson Bernard

Location: Inside the middle train.
Skills: Jinx

Jinx gave a cheery wave goodbye to all the mutants he had just set free, noticing another bakers dozen locked up in much the same manner as before. (Its one very hungry bakers dozen) This just wouldnt do, and he bit his lower lip in thought as he made his way through the train car. Another loud pop as he blew his bubbles, stepping lightly over bodies and searching for the officers guns who were now laying dead on the floor. "They don't need these anymore, so I'll just...yoink. Much better, it's more believable if the weapons are missing otherwise theyd wonder why they all shot themselves. Sloppy work really." Jinx looked about the car and spotted the cameras that seemed to of been disabled already, at least they weren't that sloppy. Jinx slid the weapons in his pockets and ensured each had the safety put on beforehand. It was a bit of a shame, the way these humans died, he knelt down and tried to push the corners of their mouths up to form a smile but the body was still to elastic to keep it held.

Noting that Anastasia was making progress with the lovely Valentine, Jinx circled the cabinet once over as he could feel their time growing thinner. Well this was the train car with the guards sooo. Just as before there was a cacophony of clicks as each restrain collar shut off and freed the fifteen mutants that were left in this cart. "Go on. Be free, we mutants have to watch out for our own kind. Now go off before the pigs arrive you hear?" As soon as he was done with the mutants Jinx made his way over towards the cage and leaned against it, looking at Anastasia with a smile as he popped another bubble. We make a good team you and I. You, Me, and Wanda coulda been an unstoppable force I'm sure, but whatever these bozos are planning I'm sure is worth the while too. Valentine, hi it's a pleasure to meet you. My names Jinx and a huge fan." Was he truly? Who knows, but Ana said he should play well with others and so far she didnt seem half bad so why not take the advice.

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: The Cherry Bomb (Basement) ---> Elevator ---> Hallway 4 -- Washington D.C.
Skills: Telepathy

Luna shook her head at Max’s outburst. She had to admit, that was a bit of an overreaction to the entire situation. Havok’s thing was humor and to use it to break the tension. Some people must have felt it endearing or a comfort in situations such as these. She looked to Veil and nodded before she shut her eyes. ”Including our seven, there are the two bartenders and another four warm bodies. Plus an astral body, which by my visual count, she said, opening her eyes to look around, "means there are more here than we can see,” Luna informed them. Not to mention the astral body one, how interesting that was to her. The others started to shuffle off to this elevator. Luna looked back towards the stairs and sighed. Veil was right. Shaw probably knew they were here by now so what did it matter if they fell further down the rabbit hole. Xavier did send her on this mission after all, she may as well try and gather as much information as she could and send it off to him before her mind was cut from his forever.

Once the elevator opened up, Luna stepped out into a circular room. It was vast, surprisingly so for being so far underground. Several hallways opened up from the room and Luna decided to take one at random. As she walked down the length of the hallway, she tried looking for anything on the Hound Program or her uncle. The specimens in water that she passed in the circular room were of interest but only told Luna that they had found what they had or rather, she had been looking for. After coming up empty, Luna headed back towards the circular room and tried a different tactic. Astral bodies generally meant a ghost, if she could find a way of communicating and getting their story, that might help her cause. Luna shut her eyes and reached out for that specific astral presence.

Cayden Proudstar - Moonwalker

Location: Roundabout Gift Shop - JFK Memorial Hospital -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Cayden flinched when James walked over and pulled his hands away. The burning sensation was so strong, he couldn’t stop fidgeting from the pain until it slowly subsided thanks to James’s incredible healing skills. Cayden breathed a sigh of relief once it was gone. ”Thank you,” he said and took the offered hand and stood. He saw Vulcan drop, Waverley standing just behind him and Sapphire running to the man who tried to kill them all and made an effort to stop the bleeding. Odd. Cayden looked at Waverley a moment before he looked at Colossus and walked over to him. ”Alright there big guy?” Cayden had been pretty worried with Colossus taking a beating like he had back there.
Cayden looked over at Sapphire and watched her work. She shouted for some Aspirin and Cayden sighed but wandered into the gift shop. The place was a disaster but Cayden did his best at poking around the place to look for the well known label. Shouldn’t they call the doctors or something like that and have them handle this? After all, they were basically fugitives and if they got caught, Cayden didn’t expect them to be getting out so easily.

The Amtrak Station...

Anastasia had no trouble getting Valentine's restraints off. Valentine looked at Jinx for a moment, incredibly quiet as she just observed him. She then nodded slightly and extended her hand, not from him to shake but for him to kiss. "Charmed," Valentine said simply, her voice having a bit of a melodious, musical quality to it.

"Be careful with that one, she's unhinged," Ksenia whispered in Jinx's ear as a means of warning him about Val. Just what were Valentine's powers again? Could they really be so bad in comparison to Legion's? At any rate, Jinx and the White Queen would want to get the siblings off the train and into the getaway car this round - or they might have a lot more to worry about than what the siblings were capable of without those restraints...

JFK Memorial Hospital - Lobby...

Casper's eyes widened as Feedback appeared seemingly out of nowhere and injected Vulcan with something, causing the villain to clutch at his chest like he was having a heart attack. Making a mental note to never get on her bad side, he then started puzzling out what exactly Sapphire was saying. He had no idea what a myocardial infarction was, but he had watched enough medical soap operas to know that a term like that definitely meant something bad. Inside the shop, Cayden would find a few bottles of aspirin for sale at the front counter.

"Uh hey, Miss Icicle?" Casper said gently, not wanting to disturb Sapphire too much but this was important. "I think the cops are about here," he then added. Colossus nodded slightly, wincing a bit with each step that he took but he was strong - he was Russian, after all.

"Da, sirens are near," he explained with a frown. "Hospital will not treat mutants..." They couldn't just leave Vulcan to die - they were better than that. However, he had another worry. His little sister was outside in the van. He had to get to her and give her the medicine that she needed to get better. They had a choice then - they could either save Vulcan or they could leave now in order to save Illyanna.

"Wait, can you maybe send them a radio message thingy saying that the suspects fled the scene and are heading downtown or something?" Casper then asked Feedback, thinking quickly. "It might buy us some time..." He really didn't want to get involved with the cops. Cops in DC were all too happy to shoot first and ask questions later when it came to mutants. And sure, he could have pulled out his phone and called his father, asking him to use Cerebro to control the cops from afar so they could escape... but Casper hated Xavier with a passion. He didn't want to ask him for anything.

The Cherry Bomb - Sinister's Lair...

Veil sighed slightly as Max informed her that Leighton was trapped. She didn't doubt that the same was the case for the other two had run off, Jack and Callie. She knew that Max had just insulted Havok, but she trusted that Havok could be the bigger person and assist him nonetheless. "Alright, no more splitting up. We're in unknown territory. Havok, go with Max and see if you can blast that door down."

She was about to then ask that Sunshine stay with her, only to notice that the blonde haired mutant was gone, having run off down one of the hallways. Veil clenched her fist slightly. She was going to need something strong to drink after all of this. "Thanks, Glimpse. Come on, let's go get the kid," Veil said, before running as fast as she could despite her previous injuries the way she thought Sunshine had gone.

She had picked the wrong hallway. It wasn't Sunshine at the end there - it was Sabretooth. Acting out of instinct, Veil generated two force fields and threw them at Sabretooth like frisbees, cutting the mutant but the wounds healed as quickly as they formed.

"It'll take more than that to stop me, little piggies... shall I prove it? Shall I huff and puff and blow your house down?" Sabretooth taunted

Jack was trapped inside of the Music Room. The piano kept on playing over and over again, its pace gradually increasing with the repetition of the simple song. It was Für Elise, one of the most famous songs of Beethoven. When it came to classical music, it was Jack's mother's favorite piece... although Renegade rarely listened to classical music. She preferred the music of her childhood, the 80's, by far. He would detect a hint of lemon from the folder and get an idea - what if there was invisible ink concealing something more? There was an lit candle across the room. Perhaps that would help to illuminate things.

Callie was trapped inside of the Mechanic's Garage. Suddenly, one of the cars roared to life and a static filled radio report began to play. Was this real? Or was it an attempt by whoever ran the Hound program to get inside of her head? "Tragedy struck in Buffalo New York this evening. Two twin boys were found hung outside of the local high school. M's were carved into their faces, suggesting that the Purifiers claim responsibility. Our condolences to the family of Officer Johnson in this trying time..."

Leighton was trapped inside of the Wardrobe Suite. Her aunt Emma, dressed in white, smiled at her slightly from the chaise. "I understand, darling, that you must hardly remember me... Nor do I doubt that you paid much attention to one of your many relatives at our family gatherings, as I certainly had no interest in my dear sister - your mother, Adrienne." She smirked ever so slightly. She did not care for either of her sisters - she hated Adrienne for being older and more loved by their parents, and Cordelia was simply a rebel without a cause.

"It was wrong of Adrienne to keep so much of our family history from you, Leighton. The Frost siblings are mutants - we are a noble lineage, one destined to bring our people out of oppression and into freedom.... You were born royalty, something denied to you as Adrienne feared your potential."

Callie tried the door several more times, even going as far as trying to bash it open with her full body groaning slightly as she backed away running a hand through her hair. She scanned the room a little bit longer, when she jumped a little bit as one of the cars came to life and the radio started to play. She hadn't talked to her family in a really long time, even her mother as well and the news didn't sound good at all. Callie wasn't sure if it was even real or not, but she would try and make a call to her family once they were actually done, she had ran into a few Purifiers in the past even before joining the Underground.

She knew that if she stayed here any longer whoever ran this place would end up finding her and she didn't want to go full Hound again either. Callie made her way to the car that was already on, and started pull back a little bit before using the car as a battering ram opening a nice hole in the wall enough for her to get back into the hallway. Callie shook her head slightly as the car went on about the door not being shut properly as she climbed out of it. Callie quickly started to run to see if the others were nearby or not, and eventually she found Veil and Luna sighing deeply. She noticed Sabertooth there as well looking over at her friend. "Sorry, for running off the rooms are rigged." Callie said.

Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: JFK Memorial Hospital
Skills: Radio Wave Manipulation

"A-Air in the needle? Wha- I-I...the neck, i-it hit somewhere in the neck," Waverley stuttered in reply to Sapphire, vaguely gesturing at the needle currently in the man's neck. As their fallen foe convulsed on the ground, she could feel the cold, familiar hand of dread digging through her ribs and latching onto her heart. The girl didn't understand a word of what Sapphire was saying. It was like watching some fast-paced medical show. But even so, every word more than one syllable caused Waverley's heart to pound harder and faster. Her breath began to quicken, each one feeling like it was her first after being held under water for minutes on end. She stared down at Vulcan right up until Casper's voice pulled her back into reality.

"Uh, yeah, I can give it a shot," she managed, and closed her eyes. Before she even tried to do anything with her power, she took a deep breath, calming herself down until she could manage to focus. She then reached out with her mind, and felt what she recognized as a number of police radios. Waverley formed the words in her head first: 'suspects fleeing the scene in a red 2020 Honda Civic, leaving hospital driveway and heading west.' It was simple enough. She attempted to push it into their radios, but she could feel going in that it would come out as unclear static and be primarily inaudible, a feeling akin to missing a power outlet when trying to plug something in. A few seconds later, she felt an oncoming message asking her to repeat her statement, and smiled in relief. So she sent the message through again: 'suspects fleeing the scene in a red 2020 Honda Civic, leaving hospital driveway and heading west.'

Funny story: the radio waves for 2020 Honda Civic, to Waverley, feel remarkably similar to the 1981 Juice Newton hit Angel of the Morning. By the time Waverley realized her mistake, it was too late; the song had already been pushed through. Waverley's closed eyes flicked back wide open.

"Shit," she muttered, looking around at those around her, before landing on Sapphire. "We should really get going. The, uh, radio trick didn't work this time. There's no time to explain, we need to grab this dickhead and get the hell out of here." Waverley gave Vulcan a nudge with her foot, before backing up towards the exit. "The van's right outside. Colossus, could you grab the laser guy?"

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: Sinister’s Lair -- Washington D.C.
Skills: Telepathy -- Binding

”Certainly, one other thing Veil. That astral presence I was speaking of, it’s Emma Frost.” It was poor timing on Luna’s part for when they rounded the corner they had a much bigger foe to deal with. Still, the thought of Emma Frost being here, even if she wasn’t fully here was unsettling. This place was definitely part of Shaw Industries and possibly Frost International. At the very least she had a hand in it and was currently here doing god knows what and if she was projecting herself here, she knew they were here.

Luna huffed and ran fingers through her hair. If Luna could get close enough, she could attempt to take him out but there was the whole claw thing. Taking down Sabertooth from a distance would be the best bet. Spark Plug showed up then and she glanced over at her. ”Welcome, I’ll try to keep him in place if you want to try shocking him,” Luna suggested. She stepped around Veil and narrowed her eyes at Sabertooth and attempted to enter his mind to bind him in place.

Cayden Proudstar - Moonwalker

Location: Roundabout Gift Shop - JFK Memorial Hospital -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Cayden managed to find the Aspirin but he wasn’t about to go and pay for it. After all the gift shop was completely destroyed. He grabbed a couple bottles and hurried back to Sapphire. The other’s were starting to talk of the sirens drawing near and they didn’t have much time. Cayden opened the bottle and handed a pill to Sapphire. ”Here,” he said, tucking the bottles into his pockets. ”I can carry him if you can’t big guy,” Cayden offered Colossus. He wasn’t sure how much damage was truly done, or how quickly he could heal. There had been a lot of silver blood.
Cayden looked at Waverley when she said that the plan to throw the cops off their trail had backfired. ”Right, well guess we are treating him on the move then.” Cayden still wasn’t thrilled that they were going to try saving him in the first place. Sure, he wasn’t a killer but this was the second time Vulcan had come after them and this time he nearly succeeded in killing one of his friends. Not to mention the serious damage Cayden sustained, which wasn’t making him feel warm and fuzzy at the moment.

Sapphire

Location: The Hospital
Skills Medical Knowledge, Cryokinesis

Sapphire shot a bit of a glare at James, sure, the guy had more or less healed Cayden, but the reason she hadn't gone to help him was that she was fairly certain he didn't have any sort of life threatening injuries, their opponent however did. "For those of you wondering, I mean he's having a heart attack. As for air in the needle, ever seen a medical show where they sort of point the needle away from them and push gently down on the syringe, that is why. Only thing that really makes much sense in those shows." she said simply, before she nodded her head as Cayden gave her the aspirin.

Taking the aspirin, she then proceeded to more or less force the pill down his throat, ensuring he swallowed it. After a moment, she checked to see his vitals, and let out a sigh of relief when she felt that they were returning to somewhat normal levels. However, glancing around at him, she realized that moving him by picking him up and carrying him a somewhat long distance. "Carrying him is a no go, and I sure as hell ain't leaving him here," she said, before she proceeded to create a sort of ice slide underneath him, and managed to get him outside, and into the car of theirs. "Come on let's go if we want to get away from the cops!"

Jack Theriot

Location: Music Room
Skills Elasticity

Jack was not too thrilled to be locked in a room, not at all. He recognized the music playing, but that was beside the point. He was trapped, in a room, and unable to really leave. However, the scent of lemon on the paper that he had found made him wonder, and he walked over to the candle in the room as a date was illuminated on the paper, but nothing else really. September 29, 2002 - New York City and there was nothing else. His mind was racing as to what exactly that could mean, and he glanced at the picture again, knowing for a fact that it couldn't be his mother, and it couldn't have been his siblings based on that date. Which only left one option that he didn't really want to think about all too much at the moment.

Another idea crossed his mind though, of how he could get out of the room. He slipped the paper and picture into his pocket before he walked over to the door. Kneeling down on the ground by the door, he laid his hand on the ground, before he managed to slip it underneath the door's edge. Feeling his way, Jack managed to hear the door click somewhat, and he pulled his hand back out so that he could go through the door and out of there. However, when he opened the door, standing there was definitely not someone he had expected. The man standing there caused Jack's face to go pale. "S-S-Sinister," he managed to stammer out somewhat, before he took a few steps backwards.

Max nodded at Veils requested, knowing now wasn't the time to fight or bicker. Havok and him would have to put aside their differences if they were to work as a team and help the others out. He motioned for Havok to follow him, leading the pair down the Hallway Max had just come back from and seeing the familiar metal door. He may not recognize the material, but all metals melt...right? "How much do you know about Jack? Like his family and stuff. I'm curious if the X-gene runs in his family seeing that Casper and him both seem to have it you know?" Aside from serving as small talk in the way to the door, Max was beginning to wonder if all this closing doors and hounded X-Men was his father's doing. He was here and could've worked for Shaw, but that was just speculation based on happenstance. He didn't expect Havok to answer, let alone to any form of friendly to him, but boy did Max hate awkward silences at times.

Once they were about five feet from the door, Max held his hand out for Havok to stop. "I think I have an idea for how to get this door down. I'm going to try and create something to help amplify your powers so that they come out in a steady, concentrated, beam to help melt the lock on this door. Figure that's safer than you blasting while I'm by the door." Max took a moment, gathering his mind into a steady stream of consciousness as he took some deep breaths and calmed himself. He focused on his task, crafting a large magnifying glass, rimmed with gold and held down onto the ground by it's two large feet made of gold. Its focal point was aimed at the doors lock so that Havoks blasts would melt it off. "Shes all yours."

Jinx took her hand in his, lifting it softly to his lips as he kissed her knuckles. "The pleasure is all mine I'm sure. Now hows about we see ourselves out of this sad cage and onto a new life?" If he was honest with himself, Jinx would believe that this mission was too easy, something that the Three-in-One could've accomplished easily without the need of others. They had stopped the train, could locate the prisoners needed, and he's sure they wouldve been able to worm their way into the minds of the pair in order to have them happily come along to the club. So why the charade? Were they planning on Jinx and Anastasia to turn down a meeting about this elusive Genosha that they speak of. He shook his head, figuring none of that mattered now. They had taken the mission and completed it ease as well as freed some brethren along the way.

Jinx began to made hi way off the cart, keeping an eye out for any potential threats, as well as making sure that his two new allies didnt try to run away. He reached for a his pocket, just shy of grabbing his phone when he remembered that it had been crushed earlier that day. A scowl appeared as he blew another bubble and slid his hand back out. He wanted to check on Wanda, see how she was doing, and he wanted to meet with Casper to gain some more information on a few things. This was all a huge mess and he needed to find a way to fix it. Requiem was always a nice buffer for him, and with that gone, all sense of familiarity was quickly slipping like sand between his fingers. He needed an anchor and he needed it now.

James Kingston

Location: The Hospital
Skills: N/A

James met Sapphire’s glare with a confused one. He still wasn’t really sure why she decided to dislike him immediately; as far as he was aware, he hadn’t done anything specific to upset her outside of giving her the honest truth. He hadn’t voiced any of his prior opinions specifically to avoid upsetting her but apparently he couldn’t even do that right. He’d have to think a little more on that. Making enemies out of the people he was going to be working with was the last thing he wanted to do but apparently the good doctor made a judgement about him. He couldn’t resist a soft sigh at the thought but that wasn’t something to be considering right now.

“That’s niffy.” James commented on her ice slide, following it quickly to the car and holding open the door for everyone else to plie in first. If the police showed up, he felt confident he could eat a few bullets without straining the Underground’s thinly spread resources already. As long as someone was willing to dig the metal out of him of course. Hopefully, Sapphire’s commitment to the Hippocratic Oath applied to more than enemies. He looked at the unconscious blaster and bit back another sigh. He;d seen what the man could do to support pillars. Hopefully, they wouldn’t have to find out what he could do to a van going 75 down a highway.

Leighton Brooks

Location: The Cherry Bomb - Wardrobe Suite
Skills N/A

Leighton stared at the almost ethereal image of her aunt as she spoke about her own mother. It had only just dawned on her that she hadn't thought about her family since all of this started. Did they even wonder where she was? Did they care? And if they did care, if what her aunt was saying was true, then her mother had kept a huge secret from her and she most likely only wanted Leighton home to prevent embarrassment. She couldn't believe her own mother was a mutant too. To think what could have been if her skills were honed.

Past Leighton may have listened to her aunt and took in the talk about royal lineage, but she felt more at home amongst this group than she ever did before. It is a sad thing to say that in her own home she felt like a stranger. Her mother and father did not care, did not show love. She was expected to show up, look good, and be the best. But with Erg, she felt a sense of belonging, a part of something bigger. With the Underground, she felt like she was doing something worthwhile.

"If that is the case, Aunt Emma, then what are you doing here now? If what you say is true, you knew from the start that I had powers and abilities, but I was never taken out of my family's hold. It is only now you show up as I am working with this group, so you can see my hesitation. What is your intent exatly?"

Anastasia Reinhardt

Location: Train Car
Skills N/A

Ana merely watched as Valentine offered her hand to Jinx, with the boy taking it in his own. Sometimes a girl didn't need the power to shit desire to get what she wanted. Ana had to respect that. "All well and good then, but it won't matter unless we get off this train and escape. We have a vehicle ready to transport us all safely away, so let us be off." Ana allowed Jinx to lead, she would take up the rear, less something go wrong she needed to fix (or in case something bad happened. Jinx would get the first hit then).

This mission was rather easy. She expected more resistance, but thus far it had almost been a cakewalk. If this was going well, how did the Three-in-One handle things on their end? If they intended to screw up the plan, there would be hell to pay and she would see it done. As they moved to exit the train, Ana kept her eyes on the siblings. David, or Ksenia, seemed content but Valentine was an unknown variable. Still, escape was imminent. Once out, who knows what would happen?

Washington D.C.: September 10th, 2020 - 11:10 AM

The Amtrak Station...

The mission had been too easy - the Hellfire Club relied on meticulous planning, usually anticipating more resistance than would ever be present. It was why Emma had sent the Three-in-One, the White Queen, and Jinx to handle this matter. The extra strength was in case the siblings needed to be subdued, but as the mutants left the train car and came out to find the Three-in-One waiting with the vehicle ready to go, black vans screeched as they came around the corner into view.

The legendary Avenger, Hawkeye, emerged first. He had something that looked like earpieces in his ears - psionic blockers, designed to keep telepaths out. A silver haired agent came out as well, followed by another agent who looked identical to the Three-in-One. "Only chance to surrender," Hawkeye called out.

"Or not. I could use the chance to stretch my powers," Agent Novikova chimed in. She wore ruby red shades - identical to the ones that Cyclops used.

The Three-in-One had come out of their car as well, cracking their knuckles but they looked at the blonde agent with interest. If the agent had straightened her hair rather than curled it, there would have been no noticeable difference between them beyond clothing. "What do you say, White Queen? It's been a while since we got to beat S.H.I.E.L.D."

JFK Memorial Hospital - Lobby...

Colossus nodded, about to bend down and pick up Vulcan but Sapphire already had it handled - and not at all in the way he would have expected. While Feedback hadn't managed to send the signal she wanted, to onslaught of music was sufficient to slow down and distract the cops as they tried to figure out what was going on and what their orders were going to be. He gingerly stepped around the ice slide that Sapphire had made, with Casper doing his best to do a slight run, slight hop as he tried to get on outside without falling on his face.

In the car, Magik was still burning up with a high fever and she was shaking from feelings of cold, but thankfully she wasn't conscious for the pain. Casper got into the back with her, with Vulcan unconscious in the trunk. Colossus then shifted back into his flesh form in order to be a bit smaller and he got into the shotgun seat, letting Sapphire take the wheel if she chose.

"Okay I know this isn't the time but... After we save this dickhead, then what?" Casper asked.

"You could call the X-Men and have them put him wherever they send their villains."

"Ugh, no, we are not calling them Ben!"

Sinister's Lair - Sabretooth's Hallway...

"Great, this is why we can't have nice things," Veil muttered as Spark Plug ran up, explaining that the rooms were rigged. There was still no sign of Sunshine, but with Sabretooth keeping them occupied they didn't have a moment to go look for the kid. Her initial attack had hardly phased Sabretooth - and according to Glimpse, Emma Frost was here as well. Fantastic. Luck was on Glimpse's side for the moment and she managed to bind Sabretooth, but it wouldn't last very long. He was straining against her and already almost breaking free.

"Come on, Palpatine him," Veil encouraged Spark Plug. She started throwing more and more force field frisbees at Sabretooth, leaving gashes all over his body yet they had already started to heal. There had to be a better way to do this. Veil wished she had a time machine so that way she could have gone back to when she was one of Xavier's students and ask him how to fight someone like Wolverine - Magneto fought Wolverine and won all of the time, how did he manage it? How did anyone else manage it for that matter?

Sinister's Lair - the Music Room...

Mister Sinister smirked at Jack and with his native telekinesis, he sent the flexible mutant back into the music room and forced Jack down onto the bench at the piano. Sinister then moved forward and with a flick of his wrist, he shut the door behind them - all the while, the piano continued to play its melody without even the slightest pause. "I see that my reputation precedes me," Sinister commented. "Tell me, Jacques, you're a private investigator - what mystery has brought you to my humble abode? And what other mystery is it that keeps you here?" He then laughed slightly. "There's no sense in lying to me - I can sense your fear, the way your pulse has quickened. And while I could just read your mind, I admit I do enjoy interrogations that are more... traditional in approach."

Sinister's Lair - the Wardrobe Suite...

Emma was patient, allowing Leighton to process her thoughts and to speak candidly. There was so much of her own history that her dear niece did not know. "I only learned you were a mutant a few days prior, when a certain police report was brought to my attention revolving an incident in a Target... The X-gene is passed through the father and I'm afraid to say, your father is as boringly human as they come. I didn't imagine that he would have a recessive copy of the gene to pass on to you - but so he did." Emma paused, allowing that bit of information to sink in. She didn't expect most mutants to understand how mutant genetics worked - most assumed that if you had one mutant parent, that was enough to propagate the X-gene. Emma's daughters, the Three in One, were a special case as they were clones and had no father. Emma's own X-gene had had to be extracted and inserted for the triplets.

"My intention is to give you a home, darling. I sense that you wish to shape the world for the better - to bring mutants out of the shadows and into the light. I share that desire. Come with me, dear - your friends can come as well, my home has room for all - and I can show you what I have been working on... A place for mutants to live freely without fear. A place of our own in this world."

Sinister's Lair - Outside the Wardrobe Suite...

Havok raised an eyebrow at Max. "I know as much about those guys' family as I do yours, kid," he explained. He had just met Casper and Jack after the Mutant Massacre - he had actually known Max slightly longer as he thought about it for a moment. Sure, maybe Jack and Casper's family had a lot of X-genes but he couldn't know that for sure. Some mutant siblings had no mutant parents - some did. He didn't really understand the genetics behind it and he never bothered to ask about it.

"Darn, I was really wanting to hit you," he quipped, not caring for Max too much. Havok then let off a blast and it did more than break the lock on the door - it knocked the door over and hit Leighton, giving her a nasty bump on the head. "Oh Emma - long time no see," Havok greeted sarcastically. "Figured I'd smelled your stench down here."

Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: JFK Memorial Hospital
Skills: N/A

Waverley gave a nod of interest and understanding at Sapphire's needle fact. She'd always assumed that the whole pushing a bit out of the needle was for style, but apparently not. As Waverley walked backwards to the exit, she saw Sapphire reach out a hand and freeze an icy path over the floor and outside. It made it a little harder for the girl, who'd never actually been on solid ice before, to get out, but she managed. As she attempted to step over the ice and out the door, her foot fell on the slippery path, causing her to slide forward outside. She was only on the ice for a few seconds, stumbling off as soon as she could. As Sapphire passed her, Waverley dug into her pocket and grabbed the keys, passing them off to the leader. She then quickly walked along with the others back to the van, climbing into the vehicle and getting into one of the seat directly behind the driver seat. Once she was in with her seat belt on, her attention was caught by the scraggly young man talking to himself, an activity that, now that she looked back on it, he seemed to do all the time.

"Call who?" she asked, absentmindedly looking from Casper to the back window, out of which Waverley could see a number of cop cars. "Uh, Sapphire, as soon as Cayden and the healer guy are in, we need to bolt. The cops are right behind us." she said, before her eyes fell down to Colossus' sister, passed out in the back. To say that she did not look good would be an understatement. The girl was a wreck. Waverley could only hope that the others found what they needed.

Sapphire

"I'll be honest Casper, I have no freaking idea what to do after this, or what to do about him. Haven't exactly gotten that far along in my planning, that's for sure," Sapphire said to him as she took the keys from Waverly and slid into the driver's seat of the car. "Now let's get the hell out of here and we can see about figuring out what to do later!"

Once everyone had gotten into the car, she turned it on and floored it, hoping to get back to the Underground without too much trouble. She still had no idea what they were even going to do about Vulcan at this rate, but she just sort of pushed that idea out of her head, as instead she decided to focus on what it was that the other group was doing. Sapphire wondered what they were figuring out about the Hounds and everything.

Jack Theriot

Location: Music Room
Skills Bluff and Manipulation

Jack was internally panicking, trying not to panic too much, but it was kind of hard not to. There wasn't much that he could do though as he was thrown backwards and forced to sit down at the piano bench. "Oh, that, I kind of was just sort of exploring, after all, this club is kind of interesting... More or less just found my way here..."

Mister Sinister sighed slightly, adjusting his cape to look a bit more dramatic. "Very well. I suppose this couldn't be avoided, could it Jacques?"

"...I don't really know what you are talking about," Jack responded, edging away slightly at this point.

"No, but you will in time," Sinister promised.

Jack put a hand to his head, feeling a slight pressure in his head, not too sure what exactly just happened especially considering he got a flash of an image of a young girl out on the streets of New York City alone. "Uh, okay... So... something tells me you already know why it is I'm here then considering... Also that definitely was not my best attempt ever at lying... But what the hell did you just do anyway?"

"Now why would I tell you that?" Sinister asked with a smirk. "You and your friends should be more careful."

"Leave them alone," he instantly stood up from the bench and looked right at him, "And why would you care if we just so happened to actually stumble across this place?"

"Sit, Jacques." Sinister commanded, using his telepathic might to overpower Jack. "All will be revealed in time."

"What the hell?" Jack said instantly sitting back down. "Why the hell do you think you can essentially just treat me as if I was a dog or something, so why the hell are you even here? What do you have to gain from all of this?"

Frederick Flynn

Location: Amtrak Station
Skills: N/A

Flynn wasn't too sure what to really think about this entire situation revolving around dealing with the attack on the train. He wasn't even too sure what the group was doing, but from what he knew, it was pretty obvious that most mutant groups would probably attack that sort of train. The work he did before joining SHIELD, which of course he wasn't all too proud of at this point, essentially showed him that rather easily.

"Easy way or the hard way, I'm perfectly fine doing things the hard way. Makes things more interesting that way," he said as he walked over to stand by Bonnie. He wasn't too thrilled that 3 of the mutants looked like her. It bugged him more then anything, but he wasn't going to really make any comments about it. They weren't dating or anything, so why should he be so concerned about it?
