Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: On the Road
Skills: N/A

Seeing that the glow only seemed to grow more intense under her hands, Waverley pressed down harder on it, as if she were trying to fight against the increasing magical light that she knew nothing about. Colossus' call for her to stop made her lessen her push, and almost pull her hands away, but before she could, her eyes made contact with the now very open, very red, very awake eyes of the girl she loomed over. She instinctively lurched backwards, pulling her hands off Magik's chest, a sharp gasp emitting out her mouth.

"GAH!" She exclaimed, lifting her hands up, trying to get herself out of the way of any oncoming attack the girl might make upon waking up. No attack came, not at first anyway. Only a threat. One that Waverley didn't completely understand. She knew vaguely about Limbo, that in religion, it was something having to do with hell, that it appeared in Supernatural, and that there'd been a game of the same name, one that Waverley had told herself she'd eventually play, but had never gotten around to. None of that knowledge helped to sooth her after the threat. Her hand immediately slipped into her pocket, fumbling around as she grabbed another dose of sedative. "I-I-I don't-" she started, ready to try to convince the girl that she couldn't give her the drug even if she wanted to, but before she got too far into the fearful groveling, her hand pulled out a loaded needle, automatically squirting a little out.

Out of absolute, pure terror of the girl, Waverley launched back over the back of the seat, and tried to plunge the needle into Magik's neck. The attack proved unsuccessful, the newly conscious magic sword wielder batting the needle out of her hand. The syringe went flying towards the front of the vehicle, and without a second of hesitation, Waverley reached out her hand to snatch it from the air. As soon as she was in motion, however, she immediately realized it was a bad idea, the image of the needle stabbing the palm of her hand coming to mind. She braced herself for such an incident, but, to her surprise, nothing like that occurred. Instead, the unexpected happened: she actually caught it. Waverley's eyes were wide with surprise, but without a second of delay, she went in to stab Colossus' sister again. Just like the first, the second attack was to no avail, though Waverley managed to keep a hold of the syringe.

She bounced back, taking cover behind the seat, separating herself from the angry magic girl in the back, sitting back next to the quivering Casper and their healer who seemed to be doing his best to help comfort him. Waverley turned her head slightly towards the two in the front. "Things are getting worse back here, it's-" she began, before stopping herself, her brain only then processing the things Casper was saying, things her mind had previously labeled as gibberish. Her eyebrows furrowed, looking to Casper with confusion. "Ghosts? What do you...who's mom? What's going on with you?" she asked, something in her voice both worrisome and at the same time expectant.

Sapphire

Location: On the Road
Skills Medical Knowledge

"Trust me, if I was going to try and kill them they would be dead," Sapphire said a bit coldly, trying really hard to get rid of the loud sounds behind her. She was starting to go a little bit stir crazy, and she really wanted to strangle just about everyone in the car with her bare hands. They were driving her crazy and at the moment, everyone was yelling about something. It was obvious that Waverly didn't trust her, and that was one thing she never joked about, it was something she never wanted to happen. The fact that she didn't seem to trust her to not kill people made her question a lot of things. Like if no matter where she was she seemed to be considered a monster, then why the hell did she stay in one place?

However, she soon got dragged away from those thoughts as she pulled the car over on the side of the road, pulled the meds that they had gotten out of her pocket and held them up so Magik could see them. "You want drugs? Here, we just stole these ones from the hospital. They're yours if you want them."

"Finally, hit me!" Magik instructed.

Sapphire just shrugged before she administered the drug, making sure that she did so properly. "There you go, you'll feel better soon," she said simply, before she started the car back up and took off along on the road once more. After a few minutes, Magik started to visibly become less twitchy as the medication took effect on her. "Can everyone also SHUT UP for two god damn minutes. Pissing off the driver of the car is not something you want to do!"

Location: Sinister's Lab
Skills Investigation and Perception

"Rule number one for a situation like this, always have an escape plan. Which I might remind you is not something that we have right now! Do you want him to come back and lock you in a cage again? We are more useful out of this place where we can regroup with the others and then take him down. Sinister doesn't tend to ever get his hands dirty, unless it amuses him or whatever. So we have a better shot at stopping him and getting revenge for Erg now that we know who our enemy is. We can better prepare for it, something you don't seem to get. I rushed head first into this, since I'm not used to working with other people, you've met my brother right? I tended to work alone when off doing jobs, aside from the supply runs with the Morlocks, nothing else even close to this. I want revenge for what happened to Erg too, but we can't stay here much longer."

With those last words, he more or less started going through things rather quickly, however the first thing he found was practically useless given their current situation. It was bunch of inhibitors, so onto the next thing! Then he saw what looked to be a freezer and opened it up, drawing a bit of a sharp breath when he saw what was inside. "You want to get back at Sinister huh?" he said, looking towards Sunshine. "I think I just hit the jackpot on that." Inside of the freezer was hundreds, if not thousands of DNA samples from various mutants. "Sinister is a geneticist, he knows how to use the DNA of various mutants to give himself more power, as well as to clone them and hope to create the perfect mutant so to speak. Destroy this, and he's back at square one, setting him back quite a while since I'm betting half the mutants whose DNA he has here are probably dead, long gone," with those words, he pulled the plug on the freezer and left the door open. "Once those thaw out they won't be usable. So come on Rookie, let's get out of here." He grabbed Sunshine's arm and started dragging her towards the obvious doors off to the side.

Frederick Flynn

Location: Amtrak Station
Skills: Fire Manipulation

Flynn sadly had been drunk numerous times before in his life. At one point he was pretty sure that's how he spent most of his time, drunk at some party or whatever. So he more or less was used to functioning while drunk. That didn't mean that his judgement wasn't impaired. Adding onto the fact that Ana just messed with his head and you have one mess of a combination. He glanced over at Bonnie, giving her a bit of a smirk that was visible despite the fact that he was clearly on fire. "My heart's on fire for you babe," he said, before turning to look at the others.

Turning, his eyes went to Hawkeye, and his mind of course was not doing the best, but he definitely did not like the fact that Hawkeye had decided to bring up him having killed a bunch of mutants before. With that, he sent a massive blast of flames at Hawkeye, slamming into him and setting him also on fire. He had hit him so hard, Hawkeye fell unconscious and was down for the count, at least at the moment. "Oh look, looks like I can hurt people who don't have powers too!"

Maximillian Gray

Location: Cherry Bomb Basement (Wardrobe Suite Hallway)
Skills: New Outfit

As Max listened to Emma speak, he noticed a shadowy figure lurked beneath the chaise she sat upon. It came out and hissed at Emma, then Leighton, but seemed to be unbothered by Max's presence. Maybe the cat was trying to warn him of Emma's bad blood? Or perhaps it was afraid from being down here. He thought back to the many jarred and preserved bodies of oddities that littered the entrance of this place and looked at the three eyed cat with concern. "Poor dear, did Shaw and his nasty men try to experiment on you? Well, regardless of the fact we don't his at strangers ok? We aren't like some people I won't mention. Let's see if you have a name." Max knelt down and looked for a name tag, finding no collar or anything resembling such, he decided to make one for the black cat. Its gender wasn't abundantly clear like most cats, so he went for a gender neutral name. The cosmic swirls wrapping around its furry black neck until a silver collar appeared with a silver trimmed raven pendant with black enamel and the name Raven written in white gold.

Max smiled at Leightons words and was more tham glad that she had felt this way. She could've simply asked him to leave or to let her go, but no, she was willing to walk this road with him side by side. Max looked at Emma once more, he needed to know more but he wasnt a telepath nor and Empath. Intuition was all he had and he would have to rely on it now more than ever. She felt honest, forthright, but only about what she was saying. There was something she was hiding, something she clearly didnt want him to know. Would it be any different if it was just Leighton? "If Leighton is willing to trust you than so will I. She doesn't need me to protect her, shes strong in her own right, but i cannot simply abandon her...I know what that's like. I also know what it's like to have family turn on you. I'll be keeping a critical eye on you if you dont mind, but i agree to see your side of things. After all every story has three sides." Max looked around at his attire and decided a change was in order, creating a stark white suite to compliment Emma's many white outfits.

Jinx was more than pleased with himself as he watched the effects of his powers latching onto them. They seemed confused, disoriented, and had no idea how to combat it. And that, that was exactly how he liked it. Chaos pure and simple, was an efficient way to fight, because if your opponent didnt know what to do to stop it, then there was hardly anything they could do. That is, except for fire more arrows at you it seemed. Hawkeye aimed his bow and show two arrows, each missing Jinx as he stood there taking pride in what he'd done, the flames now starting to grab his attention and singe away at him as he realized the situation at hand. A third arrow was cast and this one seemed to meet its mark, tasing Jinx harder than he'd expected. Was it because of his weakened state from the fire? Maybe it made him a bit sensitive to the shock but it coursed through him as he felt the numbing sensation fill his body, allowing him to ignore the burning for a moment longer.

That moment was all he needed. One final push to turn the tide of this battle. It was a long shot, but if it landed, boy would they be screwed. Jinx didn't speak, just looked onwards as he sent out one final curse to the group before him, one that would cause all of their psionic blockers to malfunction and break allowing Anastasia to get a clean shot at them. He tried to focus, but they seemed to multiply. Two, no three times the amount of soldiers now. He'd have to hit them all. Casting his wide net Jinxs vision pulsed, going yellow, then black before he finally fell back and hit the floor. He managed to get one final sentence out before finally fall unconscious. "Ana...sorry..."

James Kingston

Location: The Van
Skills: N/A

James hesitated a moment, more prepared to give him space than not, but wrapped Casper in a hug quickly. Physical affection came easily to James so he had little issue arranging them into a more comfortable position. Casper’s words made James frown as he considered them more closely. Afraid of ghosts? Bringing her mom back? It didn’t really seem to make any sense. Right up until Waverly caught his attention for a moment and then everything clicked in rapid succession. Waverly lost a parent and specifically her mother, the only “her” James would reasonably know and thus the vagueness. Said mother was dead and James clearly couldn’t see her which lead to one conclusion…

The whole “Ben” issue suddenly made a lot more sense.

James chewed on his lip as he grappled with the idea of ghosts being real. Despite being raised in a God fearing household, he never really invested any emotional energy into it. It seemed like a lot of stuff that he could deal with another time. There was always a more pressing concern and who cared about the afterlife so early. It just wasn’t something he wasted energy on and now he was holding a man who saw these things constantly, had a dead person as a constant companion, and knew what happened after the body passed. At least to some degree. The thought was sobering and James absently ran his fingers soothingly through Casper’s hair as he stared blankly out the car. It seemed horror movies got one thing right: the dead did unintentionally prey on those who could see them if Casper’s fear was anything to go by.

Waverly dragged him out of the onsetting existential dread and he just shook his head at her once Sapphire threw whichever tantrum this was today. “I think now’s a bad time. We’ll regroup, check out the new place, and hopefully get everyone settled down.” James spoke softly, trying to avoid that line of questioning. They didn’t need another person panicking right now. “You’re safe right now Casper. We’ve got you.”

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: Sabertooth Hallway - Sinister’s Lair -- Washington D.C.
Skills: Enhanced Speed; Acrobatics; Hand-to-Hand Combat

Luna glared at Sinister but she did appreciate the rundown on who they were about to fight off. One against one, that was at least helpful. Luna didn’t worry about the other two as the fight started, she had her own hands full. The ground left her feet as she was flung back and hit the wall with a solid hit. She dropped to her knees but didn’t let the hit keep her down and launched herself at Arclight. Luna dropped into a slide at the last minute, knocking Arclight off her feet before she pinned her down and started pounding on her face. She managed to knock her out easily with a couple of hits and Luna sat back for a moment and brushed fingers through her hair, not the least bit concerned if she streaked blood through her hair.
Luna looked around, trying to find something to keep her tied down but all she managed to find was a small intestine curled around in a jar of embalming fluid. ”When in Rome,” she declared, her British accent thicker from the adrenaline. Luna grabbed the jaw and smashed it on the floor before she wrapped it around Arclight’s ankles and wrists and hog tied the girl. Luckily the small intestine is long and was able to make the distance. She tied it tight, hoping a human organ could hold this much tension and turned to see how her companions were faring. As Luna stood, she reached out and grabbed a glass shard from the broken jar and held it loosely in her hand, ready to use it should she need it.

Cayden Proudstar - Moonwalker

Location: Van/Road -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Cayden reached out to pull Waverley back but there was so much movement and she moved quickly on top of that so he couldn’t get her before some freaky sword was coming out of Magik’s chest. Cayden’s eyes widened and he was in a relative state of shock watching all of this transpire. What exactly was she? It didn’t sound good that she was asking for a hit either and the way she was asking for one didn’t sound like an addict to Cayden but someone who didn't want to do what she was capable of but he couldn’t be sure. Waverley missed giving her a sedative but Sapphire stopped the car and gave her something to calm her down before sliding back into the driver's seat and took off. Waverley sat back beside Casper and him and Cayden just stared at her.
Sapphire yelled at them all to shut up and quick pissing her off and from where Cayden was, that was easier said than done. They were trying not to freak out while dealing with things none of them had come across before. On top of that, Casper was curled into James and freaking out still. There was a whole lot of hell going on in the back seats. Cayden rested a hand on Waverley’s shoulder. ”Let James worry about Cas for right now,” Cayden suggested. They all had plenty of questions and there was a lot of excitement in the air right now.

Callie Johnson

Location: Washington DC, The Cherry Bomb, Basement
Skills: Hand to Hand Combat, Empathy

Callie looked at Miser Sinister as he addressed her and couldn't help but cringe and shook her head slightly towards him. "Yeah, you are totally not creepy." Callie said, shaking her head when she started to see three figures starting to appear one of them being Havok who was wearing some kind of choker. And then Sinister started to tell the group each of their abilities, as she looked at both Veil and Glimpse for a few seconds. She watched as Sinister disappear again, leaving them to handle the three Marauders, feeling the heat from the blast Malice tried to hit her with.

"I'll take the choker off of Havok then." Callie said, as she ran up to him, and then reached out to the choker and easily pulled it off of him. "The choker makes you look a little gay Havok." Callie said towards him, hoping that it would actually turn their friend back to their side, Callie started to think of a way to try and get the other two out. Callie focused on Riptide, and tried to mess with his emotions but she couldn't sadly as Glimpse went in and easily took out Arclight without any issues.

Cassandra Reed

Location: Amtrak Station, Washington DC
Skills: Season Manipulation

Cassandra continued to stumble a little bit as she tried to remain focused on the others, she hadn't been drunk in awhile and she felt like she was going to vomit everywhere as well. She stumbled again as she watched Flynn suddenly turn on Hawkeye and setting him on fire with no problem and knocking their leader out without much of a problem. Cass held out her hand, aiming at Flynn she wasn't sure what happened to make him suddenly turn on them.

"You need to cool down a little bit Flynn.." Cass said as she sent out a wintery blast towards him, which made her stumble backwards again, and started to laugh a little bit, she was sometimes a little bit giggly whenever she was drunk as well. She watched the guy starting to call out for his mommy which started to make her laugh a little bit more as well.

Maria Smith

Location: Amtrak Station, Washington DC
Skills: Archery

Maria started to laugh a little bit while she was on the ground and she watched as Tommy crawled away from her girlfriend which was a little bit more funny to her than it should have been. "You do look a little bit scary to kids." Maria said slurring her words a little bit and giggled, as she tried to get back up to her feet again. And started to feel the earplugs that blocked out telepaths suddenly come out of her ears, and someone entering her mind.

She got up to her feet a little bit awkwardly as she fumbled with her bow and arrow, firing off a taser arrow towards Bonnie, the first one missing. Her vision was a little bit blurry as Maria fired off a second a little more clumsily this time and it also missed, but the third one she fired ended up hitting Bonnie. "Yay I finally hit someone!" Maria said laughing.

Washington D.C.: September 10th, 2020 - 11:50 AM

The Amtrak Station...

To recap, the Three in One, Jinx, and Hawkeye were all unconscious - with the latter two still being on fire as well. The downpour Cass had caused was beginning to wane, allowing the flames to persist even with the water. And of course, Legion was currently manifesting the personality of a small boy named Tommy and there was no indication yet as to what power that personality wielded either. Luckily though, the X-Men hadn't showed up or anything like that, even though Valentine and Legion were Professor X's children - he really wasn't going to win father of the year. Lastly, Maria and Flynn both had been turned villainous, the two mutants now siding with the Hellfire Club in this conflict.

Valentine smiled slightly at Anastasia. "That's a fair point," she agreed. "After this, I'll be needing my violin." Offering no explanation beyond that, Valentine whistled once more, trying to send another sonic blast to knock the S.H.I.E.L.D. team down but she hardly produced a strong wind. Her eyes narrowed slightly in frustration. "I need my violin," she muttered. Legion/Tommy was being equally useless, just crying on the ground.

Bonnie's eyes widened slightly at Flynn's words - and if she hadn't been drunk, she might have been able to keep her mouth shut. She tended to get really chatty when inebriated. "That is so gross and cheesy, also I don't know if I'm ready for someone to hit on me like that! Since you know the last guy to really be into me died and all and I really should shut up and stop talking and--" she was cut off as Maria's arrow hit her, sending an electric current throughout Bonnie's system. The psychic inhibitor didn't fry however, something that Bonnie thanked her lucky stars for as she gritted her teeth and struggled to pull herself together.

Flynn had taken out Barton and Bonnie knew she couldn't beat him physically, and as much as she didn't want to do this, she needed a way to remove Flynn from the playing field at the very least - or to try to get him back to normal. People had had success in the pass with removing mind control or whatever this magic was through whacking people over the head - so it was worth a shot. "Hey, uh, hot stuff? Why don't you come give me a kiss?" Bonnie asked awkwardly, hoping he would fall for it.

The Russian agent narrowed her eyes, though no one would be able to tell behind her shades. This should have been an easy fight for them, but the tides had turned and now it seemed that they were about to lose to some mental patients and a pre-teen. "Hey Princess, why don't you get your hands dirty and stop asking others to do the work for you?" Novikova shouted, stumbling slightly forward. She managed to tear up some pieces of rock from the ground and she chucked them at Anastasia, almost hitting her but Novikova's aim was poor.

"That is what we call in Russia a warning shot!"

The Mutant Underground HQ...

Casper didn't seem to hear Feedback's words, just shaking as he curled into James. He felt more secure than he cared to admit in his arms, despite knowing James for less than a week. He didn't have the emotional energy to even consider how thankful he was that James didn't press further about what he was seeing, but Sapphire's snapping from the front seat about being quiet and the continued screaming of the ghost of Feedback's mother was making it hard for him to think. His brain felt like it was bouncing around in his skull and he just wanted a moment's peace, something to make it all go away. "Drugs make it stop..." he whispered to James. "My pocket..."

He knew that Jack would have killed him for it and Casper didn't really want to use in a car like this, but he needed them. He couldn't deal with this. Even as he was curled into James for comfort, he was crying hot and sticky tears. It wasn't at all the sort of liquid he wanted to be producing around this man.

"Illyana, how are you feeling?" Colossus asked his baby sister, as Sapphire would be able to reach the Mutant Underground HQ at last. Negasonic was leaning up against the wall outside, with Blink sitting down on a crate nearby. Neither of them seemed to be injured, so perhaps their mission had at the very least gone better. There was no sign of those who went to the bar however.

"I'm fine, Piotr," Illyana muttered. Her eyes flashed over towards Waverley, as if daring her to try the sedative on her now. The medication they had stolen from the hospital had repressed the withdrawal symptoms in Magik for the time being, allowing her to be closer to her normal self. The Soulsword vanished from her hand.

"If you need to talk..." Colossus began to offer gently.

Magik shook her head. "I said I'm fine. But I would like to get out of this cramped car." She nudged Vulcan slightly, but the third Summers brother didn't respond. He was unconscious - for now.

"We found a lair," Negasonic shouted at the car, texting away on her phone.

"It's not... Yeah, it's a lair," Blink admitted, hurrying over to the car. "Have you heard from the others? They're not here and they're obviously not with you."

Sinister's Lair - Sabretooth's Hallway...

Restraints on Arclight were apparently unneeded, as she vanished much in the same way as Nightcrawler and Sabretooth had done before her. Given that Sinister had appeared out of thin air and then left the same way, was he transporting his hounds and his Marauders away to safety after they were defeated? And were even the villains truly safe with the master geneticist and manipulator?

Once Spark Plug pulled the choker off of Havok, the necklace seemingly turned into dust, the particles blowing away right in front of her. Havok blinked slightly, coming back to his senses - and sadly, entirely missing Spark Plug's comment about his sexuality. "What..." he muttered, before seeing Riptide and he sent off a blast of energy, narrowly missing Sinister's fiend. "Bad guy?" he asked hopefully.

"Yeah, real bad, Havok," Veil agreed, barely throwing up a new force field in time to stop Riptide's shurikens. "Okay here's a conundrum - we can't knock him out without getting to him, and I can't let these shields down without letting him potentially fatally hurt us."

"...Hit him over the head with one, you can do more than just block with those!" Havok reminded her.

"...Right," Veil agreed, shaking her head slightly as she then slammed her force fields down on Riptide's head. The Marauder crumpled to the ground, unconscious, and then vanished from sight seconds later. "...Okay then. Glimpse, point us in the direction of the kid, please? And or Jack... Wait Havok, where's Max and Leighton? I thought you were with them?"

Havok shook his head slightly. "They ran into Emma freaking Frost, asked me to leave so they could talk to her. I couldn't exactly force them to come with me and right after I left, I... Actually, I have no idea what happened then. Next thing I knew, I was right here."

Sinister's Lair - the Laboratory...

Sunshine didn't really like Jack's repeated theme of you don't seem to realize this, crossing her arms as he talked. She did however commit the rule about having an escape plan to memory. "My plan is to make him really, really sick - sick enough that he dies - if he comes in here," Sunshine informed Jack. It was hard for someone to fight her when they were too busy fighting off polio (not that she had ever managed to successfully give someone polio, but she wasn't about to tell Jack that). As Jack was poking around, she decided the best way to mess with this guy would be to start smashing his stuff. She went around knocking over all of the vials that she could see like a maniac, only stopping when Jack called her attention over to the freezer.

"...If he wants to make the perfect mutant, why'd Erg have to die?" Sunshine asked. Shaw and Sinister, while different people, had the same goals and motives in her mind. Both of them were horrible, horrible people and they had cost Erg his life. She did take a lot of satisfaction in the fact that Sinister's weird DNA freezer was thawing out, especially since she had destroyed a lot of random vials. As Jack dragged her to the exit, she didn't fight him on it, though she did have another question. "...And what's DNA?"

Sinister's Lair - the Wardrobe Suite...

Emma smiled, glad to hear that Leighton had decided to at least come speak with her. "Of course, darling - I wouldn't even dream of holding you against your will. I am a firm believer in allowing everyone to make their own choice, especially strong young women such as yourself." The astral projection of Emma Frost flickered slightly, as she paused for a moment and even smiled slightly at Max. "I can see why my niece is so taken with you. Now it is very important that the two of you exit the way you came as quickly as possible - I am almost back in D.C., but I have a driver on route to your location presently. She'll meet you outside this establishment. If you have any other friends you wish to bring with you, Leighton darling, please do not even hesitate. All mutants need to work together, after all."

James Kingston

Location: The Van
Skills: N/A

Relief flooded James when Casper mentioned drugs, thinking he had a prescription for the issue. He felt bad not being able to do more than hold the guy but medicine would hopefully give him some form of relief. He plucked the bottle out of Casper’s pocket and looked at the label, hoping it would have some sort of dosage. James was pretty sure this wasn’t a prescription bottle. Those were normally the clear orange bottles right or was that the usual thing and it changed based on medication? James honestly had little to zero understanding about medication so he checked the instructions. James took out a pill and snapped it in half, as according to the recommendations, and held it up to Casper’s mouth as he tucked the bottle into his own pocket.

“Here, take this. I don’t have any water though.” James instructed. He had a nagging feeling something was a little off but he shook it off. The poor guy was seeing dead people, someone recently and violently deceased, so James figured something to help take the edge off wasn’t entirely unwarranted if movies were right about how angry and violent they could get. He’d probably turn to anything that could help him too. But that didn’t mean it could keep going if they were working as a team. This stuff seemed pretty serious and with people actively trying to kill them, they needed everyone at 100%. Interested in the guy or not, James was going to sit him down and have a conversation about what the hell all this entailed. “Do you want to head inside or do you want to stay here for a bit?” He asked softly as the car came to a stop. The important stuff would happen after he’d calm down. Maybe talking to Casper’s brother would help too.

Sapphire

Location: Mutant Underground HQ
Skills N/A

Sapphire was about to punch just about everyone in the car for the most part, as in her mind they didn't seem to know what the term "shut up" meant. When the car pulled up to the underground, she didn't hesitate to put the vehicle in park and get out of the car. "Remind me to never be in a car with these people again," she said to Negasonic as she nodded her head mainly towards Waverly, James and Casper, as the three were driving her completely insane. "We got the stuff for Magik, ran into a little bit of trouble but eh..."

She nodded her head slightly as the pair mentioned that they had found a new base for them to go to. At least they seemed to have had a much easier task then the rest of them. "I don't know where the others are or whatever... Though the fact that they aren't back yet is a bit concerning... So, tell me more about this "lair" you've found, if the others don't show up or get in contact soon, then we should see about going after them..."

Jack Theriot

Location: Sinister's Lab

"DNA is what essentially declares what you look like, if you are a mutant or not, things like that," Jack said with a shrug to her as he stepped through the doors out of the lab into another hallway. However, what he was not entirely expecting, partially anyway, was to see Sinister waiting for them it seemed like.

"Going somewhere, Jacques, Electra?" Sinister asked, smirking slightly.

"...Uh yeah, away from here... And how the hell am I related to you, honestly, you and I are waaaaaaaay too different!" Jack said, looking at Sinister now.

Sinister chuckled, shaking his head slightly. "You finally figured it out? Really? I suppose there is a brain cell in your head after all."

"Yeah well brain is still currently in denial on that. So we're just going to go leave now."

"And you think I'm going to just allow that?" Sinister mused, standing in between them and the hallway.

"Well it would be nice but figured you probably wouldn't."

Sunshine was glaring at Sinister, green smoke coming off of her. "You killed Erg!" she screamed, before tackling Sinister to the ground. She somehow managed it, despite him easily being twice her size and she was screaming as she put her hands on his face and the green smoke started going into him.

"Sunshine he can't actually die he's got immortality!" Jack said before he pulled her off of Sinister, and using the distraction she had caused and pulled her along past him, racing away through the hallway.

Frederick Flynn

Location: Amtrak Station
Skills: Fire Manipulation

"Sure thing," he said with a bit of a smirk towards Bonnie as the flames died down around him. Sure, he was slightly annoyed with Cass for blasting him, but he decided to ignore that for the moment and he walked over to Bonnie. However, it would appear that she was trying to hit him over the head or something instead, and he gave her a slight glare at that. "Well now wasn't that a bit rude," he muttered to her, stepping away and lighting up on fire again.

He then decided to turn his attention towards Cass, having been hit by a wintery blast from her, and he glared at her. "Really Reed?" he said, before he sent a blast of fire at her, not really doing much damage with his first hit. His second hit didn't do much better, however his third blast did a lot. The flames he sent off were able to bypass her dermal armor, resulting in her getting lit on fire, as well as knocked out. "Don't mess with me."

Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: On the Road
Skills: N/A

Waverley’s eyes remained inquisitively on the shivering, distraught Casper, waiting for an answer or any sort of response to indicate that he’d heard her, but none came. Instead, a shouting came from the from the front at a level that caused Waverley to wince. Sapphire didn’t seem happy with everything that was going on in the back, which, with what little Waverley knew about the woman, wasn’t a good thing. Waverley immediately shut her lips tight, not wanting to further upset her superior. But when James spoke, she felt the need to push the issue rise up her throat.

“But-“ she began, but stopped when she felt Cayden’s hand fall on her shoulder. She didn’t realize until then how tense her body was, her shoulders stiff and shrugged up around her neck. She looked to Cayden as he repeated James’ sentiment, before glancing back at Casper with hesitation in her eyes. After a few moments, she let out a deep breath, her shoulders dropping in a more relaxed position. As the van came to a stop, Waverley gave a small nod.

As she prepared to exit the vehicle, however, her eyes met those of Colossus’ sister, and she could feel the girl’s challenging glare bore into her mind, causing a shiver to go down her spine. It caused her to instinctively sheath the syringe back into her pocket. But once she no longer had it in her hand, she only felt more vulnerable under the girl’s intimidating stare. Only a few seconds after putting the syringe away, she bent down to grab her rebar off the ground of the van, holding it flustered to her chest as if it could protect her from the magic girl, before quickly vamoosing out the van door. She got out just in time for her to hear Sapphire’s comment criticizing her and her seat-mates. It made her flinch. Even after all the chaos, all the fighting and lasers and magic swords, it still hurt to hear disapproval of her coming from her higher up. She felt he need to make up for it, and when Blink mentioned the absence of the others, Waverley felt as though she’d been given a chance to do so.

“If someone has any of their phone numbers, I can get in contact with them!” She piped in, her voice quick and eager to please. In her desire to impress, it took her a few moments to realize the flaw in her statement. When she did, her lips curved into a frown. “Or...I guess at that point you could just...call them...” she spoke, her voice slowing down and filled with embarrassment, every few words separated by an awkward silence.

Maximillian Gray

Location: Cherry Bomb Basement (Wardrobe Suite Hallway) > Entrance Hallway.
Skills: conjuration New Outfit

Max picked up the cat, giving it a few pets before nuzzling it into his arms. "Let's go." He wasnt sure if this was the right choice, but he did know that he needed more information on both sides to make that decision. Being promised the freedom to leave if desired was definitely a high motivator to allow him to choose this side...for now. There was still the matter of what Emma was hiding, whether she was doing so because of his presence or because she was keeping a crucial bit of information that may sway their minds away from her. But for now she had a plan, she had an idea that went beyond tomorrow, it was a future for mutants. Not a smuggling route for them. As he made his way down the hall he began to make his eyes glow in an attempt to feign some sort of mind control being forced upon him.

The entrance was now at hand, its same creepy decor littering the hall as he made his way through. Max could see Sunshine atop another mutant, no doubt fighting another revenge filled battle. He looked at Jack and there was a brief pause, a twinge in his heart as he felt guilt for leaving them behind, but this seemed right. So Max turned his head away, coldly, and made his way for the elevator. He didn't want to fight anyone, there was no sense in joining Sunshines brawl. All he wanted to do was to tell them to stop, tell them there was no sense in fighting with their own kind, ask them to join and help shape the future for mutants. But he knew Sunshine, all she wanted was vengeance, death, destruction, and pancakes.

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: Sabertooth Hallway - Sinister’s Lair -- Washington D.C.
Skills: Telepathy - Tracking

Luna watched Havok come back to normal and smirked when he didn’t realize what Spark Plug had said to him. Poor guy, he would be swarmed instantly if he ever stepped foot into a gay bar. Luna moved closer to the trio while Havok and Veil worked on getting Riptide. They couldn’t get their hands on him but Luna could mentally if they needed. She kept herself on stand by, waiting but watched Veil use her shields to knock him out. He disappeared, much like Sabertooth had earlier and than Arclight which was completely fine with Luna and she relaxed a bit. Now that the immediate threat had passed, there was the bigger problem of finding the others and getting out of Sinister's lair. The information that they had learned was going to determine if they stuck with this or handed it off. There were bigger parties at play than the original information had indicated. Not only was her Uncle working to create mutants of a different breed but Mister Sinister, the mad scientist himself was involved and they were capturing mutants who were well known and corrupting them. If she ever got her hands on Shaw, it wasn’t going to be pretty.
Luna focused back when Veil asked her to track for the others. She reached out and searched for Sunshine and then when Veil pointed out Havok was no longer with Max and Leighton as he was supposed to be, she searched for Max instead of Jack. ”Okay, I found Sunshine and I found Max. Sunshine is in a hallway a couple over and Max is, he seems to have found his way to the elevator so we’ll come across him on our way to Sunshine,” Luna stated and started walking. Once they had those two, she would go looking for the others but who knows, they could all get lucky and find them all in one shot.

Cayden Proudstar - Moonwalker

Location: Old Underground HQ -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Cayden sighed in relief as they made it back to the old HQ and he bailed out of the vehicle straight away. He breathed in somewhat fresh air and rolled his neck and shoulders out before grinning at Negasonic and waving at Blink. He stepped around to the back of the van and opened up the trunk to reveal an unconscious Vulcan and somewhat calmer Illyana. Cayden wasn’t about to take his eyes off of Vulcan and have another sneak attack like they did at the hospital. So he leaned against the back door of the van and watched him while listening to the conversation outside of the van.
For some reason he wasn’t terribly concerned about the others who had gone on the recon mission. They were all well equipped with their powers and they had been able to get out of tight jams before. He was certain they would be back soon with the information they desired in tow. ”You know,” Cayden started, his head on the idea of information. ”I could always pop into this guys head for a spell, see what else we can learn from him. I can virtually go in undetected and see what he’s thinking, feeling, dreaming about. You name it.” Cayden’s eyes remained on Vulcan’s still face while he spoke. The only real downside with this ability was the person’s mind he wished to enter, had to be asleep but beyond that, Cayden had free range to see inside the person’s mind, root around and change some things if he wanted.

Callie Johnson

Location: Washington DC, The Cherry Bomb, Basement
Skills: N/A

Callie watched as the choker that she had managed to rip off of her friend's neck suddenly faded away, and looked at him for a moment she would have poked a little more fun at him if he would have remembered her comment. She smiled when Veil and Havok managed to knock out Riptide as well, they seemed to be pretty easy to pick off. "Well they were pretty damn easy to take out for Sinister's goons they were pretty easy." Callie said, and turned to face Havok when asked about Max and Leighton and where they were right now didn't bode well to her either.

"So, you let them talk to her alone?" Callie asked, she would have forced them to leave as far as she knew Emma wasn't good and one of her people did shoot Veil as well. Glimpse then used her powers to find out where Sunshine was, and nodded towards her before turning around and followed shortly behind the woman as well. "Lets just find them and get out of here." Callie felt bad for whoever was down here captured by Mister Sinister but they couldn't do much if they all ended up in the same position either.

Cassandra Reed

Location: Amtrak Station, Washington DC
Skills: N/A

Cassandra watched as Bonnie tried to lure Flynn over to him to try and knock him out, she stumbled slightly her blast didn't really do much to Flynn, it really just pissed him off as fire got turned up again and Flynn focused on her now. Cassandra did her best and blocked her arms as Flynn hit her with some fire.

It didn't hurt to much but the heat was a little bad, as she stumbled back from the fire blast looking directly at Flynn. "Hey stop!" Cass yelled. And Flynn hit her a second time, same feeling but nothing to much as she stumbled again, the third however she started to feel herself getting set on fire, and then being knocked down onto the floor her back hitting the ground with a loud thud and she was knocked out rather quickly.

Maria Smith

Location: Amtrak Station, Washington DC
Skills: Archery

Maria grumbled slightly to herself when her taser arrows didn't knock Bonnie out, and started to drunkenly fumble with another arrow and then aimed the shot again and fired off an arrow. Seeing it going flying and nearly hitting Bonnie, but it didn't hit her, and started to do it again. Still the second shot missed as Flynn managed to knock out Cass without much of an issue now after firing three fire blasts at her.

Maria fired off a third arrow as it flew again missing Bonnie nearly again. "Hold still not fair if you keep moving!" Maria yelled drunkenly at Bonnie, even if she didn't move at all she couldn't see really as Maria stumbled a little bit looking over at her girlfriend and giggled slightly. "You cant hit anything either."

Washington D.C.: September 10th, 2020 - 12:00 PM

The Amtrak Station...

Bonnie's heart skipped a beat, seeing what Flynn did to Cass. Any injuries that Cass took on were difficult to treat, given that her dermal armor made it so that way no surgical or medical tools could pierce her skin. She hoped to god that her organs hadn't taken on any internal injuries, that she had just passed out from the smoke or something like that. Her mind also noted rapidly, like taking a snapshot, that Flynn hadn't actually tried to hurt her, even though she had tried to hit him over the head to knock him out. Maria's arrows missed her and Bonnie thanked her lucky stars.

"This is Agent Chase - requesting back up," Bonnie said into her communicator. She knew back up wasn't coming. The rest of the team was busy on another mission at the moment, but the rogue mutants didn't know that. At least she still had Novikova with her - that was something.

"Fuck back up," Novikova said bitterly. She was drunk, yes, and her girlfriend annoyingly had been mind controlled to be something else. Using all of her pent up rage and aggression, especially since her best friend was trapped in the Quantum Realm still, Novikova manipulated the Earth around Valentine's feet and sent up several earthen spikes. The spikes pierced the mutant's ribcage, but Novikova didn't stop, throwing a small boulder at Valentine's head and knocking the alpha level mutant unconscious.

Legion, to his credit, cried in fear.

"....Okay," Bonnie said, figuring that it was better she try and fail than stand there and let Flynn and Maria kill everyone. She took a deep breath and ran at Anastasia, figuring that since she was the last one standing, she had to be the one messing with everyone's minds. Unfortunately, due to the instability of the earth from Novikova's attacks and the jinx in her system, Bonnie tripped and fell to the ground pathetically.

The Mutant Underground HQ...

Casper didn't even notice that James had snapped the pill in half, still terrorized by the ghosts around him and their incessant wailing. He swallowed the half-pill dry, a little sign of the frequency with which he took pills. To some this wouldn't be alarming - it was a skill acquired by people who had to take medications daily - but Casper's ability wasn't from any legal activities at all. He had started with painkillers stolen from his father's study and worked his way up to the worst of the worst. Regardless of his experience though, pills didn't take effect instantly - it would be about another ten or so minutes before the drugs would reach his brain.

"I-I..." Casper stammered, trying to come up with an answer to James' question. If he were honest, he felt the safest right now curled up into James like he was some sort of infantile creature.

Negasonic smirked slightly at Sapphire, turning her phone to show a meme. "Is this you?" she quipped, glee dancing in her eyes.

Blink crossed her arms, moving from side to side slightly with obvious worry. She had worked with the Mutant Underground in Atlanta and when people were gone this long, it rarely was anything good. She shuddered slightly, remembering when her ex-boyfriend had been captured by Purifiers - or when her friend, Lorna, had been arrested in order to save her. "From what I can tell, it's an abandoned bunker of sorts..." Blink explained awkwardly. "I think some rich person must have had it built and then let it go to hell. But there's rooms and I think we might even be able to get the electricity working down there."

"Like I said, it's a lair," Negasonic said, scrolling through more memes on her phone without looking up.

Colossus was stared at Magik as she climbed out of the car, worry etched into his metallic face but he couldn't do anything for her if she didn't let him. "Da, I have numbers," Colossus told Waverley encouraging, before listing out Havok, Veil, and Spark Plug's numbers. He didn't have numbers for anyone else as they just hadn't been with the Mutant Underground long enough. "Call, please," he then requested. Yes, he could have made those calls but it was important to him to make sure Feedback felt useful.

"He's probably thinking about sex," Illyana muttered harshly, spitting on Vulcan's unconscious form. With the medicine in her system, she was acting more like her normal self - as normal as she could be after all of the tragedies in her life. In many ways, it had been easier to be a hound. "Or killing Cyclops and Havok."

"Everyone wants to kill Havok, that's hardly new," Negasonic chimed in.

"He's his brother," Magik added, promptly shutting Negasonic up.

Sinister's Lair - Sabretooth's Hallway...

"Thank you," Veil told Glimpse earnestly, relieved to hear that her team was okay. If any of them didn't make it out of this place alive, Veil would have blamed herself. They hadn't been ready for this sort of mission and it showed. The team had fractured itself and they had been lucky to handle Sinister's minions with relative ease. Next time, they might not be so lucky.

"What was I supposed to do, threaten them to come with me or else?" Havok asked Spark Plug. "They're both adults. They can make their own choice... even if it's a fucking stupid one," he finished with a sigh.

Sinister's Lair - the Elevator Room...

"He's immortal?! γαμω!" Sunshine screamed, switching to Greek for a moment. Her mother had made sure that she could speak the language of her father's homeland and over the years, Sunshine had supplemented her Greek with a working knowledge of its primary curses. It was the main thing she used the language for. If someone asked her to read or write in Greek, she would be completely and utterly lost. "That's not fair!" she added, a few tears welling up in her eyes as they reached the end of the hallway and came into the original room with the elevator.

Her eyes narrowed slightly, seeing Max getting into the elevator. There was something weird going on with his eyes - they were glowing. With all of the weird things happening here, and even though none of the hounds had had glowing eyes, she assumed that Max was under Sinister's control. It made sense - he was very dumb, so of course he would have gotten caught and hypnotized. And despite what Max thought of her, he was part of her group. Sunshine wasn't going to let him go.

She pulled her Yo-Yo out and aimed at the single button on the elevator, throwing the small toy. Thanks to her mutant power of perfect aim, the Yo-Yo hit the button and the elevator doors reopened. "I'm going to really enjoy beating you up to get the crazy out of you," she told Max, still crying slightly out of rage over Erg.

Veil, Havok, Glimpse, and Spark Plug then came into view. "... Glimpse, frisk his mind please," Veil requested instantly, seeing the strange glow in Max's eyes - and hearing Sunshine's slightly ridiculous threat.

Max heard Sunshines tantrum about the mutants immortality, cursing in some other language hes heard her use once before before tears welled up in her eyes. It was hard to tell if they were from sadness, frustration, or anger. Knowing her it could be any one of those and in any combination. If not for a moment, his heart broke for her, she was clearly struggling and he wanted to offer her a new life. He's seen what the Hellfire Club can offer, he's heard what they have planned, and it might even interest Sunshine; but the damage had been done, erg was killed by one of their members, even if it was a rogue one. His feign seemed to work, Sunshine thought he was under someones controll, granted she wasn't the brightest bulb but it worked. As she proclaimed her enjoyment for fighting him, a part of him just thought "No you won't." As she tossed her Yo-Yo at him and hit the button to keep the doors open. Damn.

Callie, Veil, and Glimpse showed up as Veil barked orders to the others. Max couldnt let Glimpse gain into his mind, but he had no way of blocking her out. He looked around, his pupiless eyes scanning the room for something to distract hr, or knock her out to avoid any form of fight. Suddenly a word flashed inside his mind. "Munmos" He whispered under his breath as dust formed around his palm and flew over to Glimpse. Her eyes began to look weary but she wasnt asleep yet. He tried once more, finally knocking her out as he looked towards Veil and Callie. "Someone might want to catch her so she doesnt hit her head." Max hit the door close button on the elevator and then picked up Sunshines yo-yo, keeping it in his pocket as a reminder of where this all started.

Leighton Brooks

Location: The Cherry Bomb - Wardrobe Suite -> Entrance Hallway
Skills N/A

Leighton followed Max out of the room, mind still reeling from all her aunt told her. To think how different her life would be had her mother allowed her to grow and develop her mutant abilities rather than hide from them. She glanced at the cat, wondering what it could mean as she entered the hallway, following Max. Leighton turned to see Sunshine and the others fighting, but they appeared to be winning. She had an urge to go help, but something stopped her. She wasn't a part of them. Not at the moment, anyway. It felt right. So she followed Max to the elevator, but a Yo-Yo flung past her, hitting the button and opening the doors.

What followed tugged at Leighton's heart. She did not like Sunshine. It was almost to the point of hate, but even she could tell Sunshine was not in a good place. And the others quickly came towards them, Veil issuing a command to have Max's mind frisked, but Max countered, knocking Glimpse out with his powers. Leighton quickly saw the glow in Max's eyes and realized that if she did not intervene, there would be another fight here. And it was one that none of them could afford. "Wait! We're not being controlled. We are leaving willingly. Both of us feel that there is something more for us out there and we could be wrong. I owe it to Emma, who is my aunt, to at least hear her out. I don't want to fight and I don't want to cut ties. Max, please, don't attack them. You're better than that. And we're going to go prove it."

Max seemed to agree with her and she turned back to the others. "....Can I have my Yo-Yo back?" Max would toss the Yo-Yo back at Sunshine before Veil spoke up. "Alright. But... be careful. If you ever need anything, you'll find us, okay?" Leighton nodded before she pushed the button to close the elevator and send them up. She then quickly grabbed Max's hand and squeezed it. "Here we go...."

Anastasia Reinhardt

Location: Amtrack Station
Skills Telekinesis

The tide was still in her favor, she felt. The fire guy had taken out another member, leaving them with only two left that were not in her control. One of which had attempted to hit her with something, but it missed. Ana, of course, could not let that go. "So in Russia, they consider being inept and uncoordinated as "a warning shot". You are really the best they had to offer?" Ana had previously scanned the environment, seeing that Jinx had brought literal guns with him. She picked one up, aiming at Novikova. "I don't do warning shots." Ana had seen the girl move metal, so she prepared herself, firing off a shot and then moving it with her telekinesis, hitting Novi directly in the stomach. The girl fell to the ground.

That left the cute blonde.

She picked up the biggest thing she could see, a large rock, and launched it at Bonnie, hitting the girl over the head and knocking her out. With the two remaining still in her grasp, she had won the battle. She walked over to the Three-In-One, shaking them. "Hey, get up!" but it was no use. They were out for the count. Ana glanced around again, seeing Jinx and Valentine out too, leaving Legion alone and crying. Ana huffed. She made her way over to Legion, a warm smile on her face. "Hey buddy, sorry you had to see all that. What say we get out of here and go somewhere fun?" She offered her hand and led Legion to the car the Three-In-One had brought. Ensuing Legion got in, she then got into the driver's seat and drove off, leaving the unconscious few as well as the remaining members who had tried to stop them. Did she feel guilty?

Hell no.

James Kingston

Location: The Van/Mutant Underground HQ

“Okay, we'll stay here. You just relax for a bit." James said, settling a little more into the seat. He was still wrapping his head around the concept of ghosts and honestly, he wasn't sure he wanted to. It brought on a wide variety of questions that James was not in the emotional state to consider right now. What a way to bond with someone, not to mention the person you asked out on a date. Panic attacks leading to existential crises. At least its unique.

So he turned his attention to the conversations outside the car. The new headquarters sounded promising and it came with a built in distraction. The underground part was unfortunate. It made him think about the Morlock's, an involuntary shiver running through him, setup and he frowned. Preferably the could tag into the electrical line it used to be hooked up to or maybe they could set up solar panels. The idea made him perk up. He'd taken a few specialty courses on solar panels and getting to put that knowledge to work would present a fun challenge. And after this little "mission", he definitely needed some distance from… He looked at Sapphire, irritation bubbling up, but he took a breath and put a cap on it. It wasn't helpful to deal with that now. There would be other opportunities.

Jack Theriot

Location: Sinister's Lab
Skills N/A

Jack was wondering what the hell was going through the groups mind, especially considering the conversations that were going on around him. To say the fact that Jack was definitely getting fairly close to a mental breakdown was definitely something. However, he didn't say anything right away, as everyone else was more or less talking all at once about it. The fact that these two, who were people that he actually thought were nice enough and he actually liked hanging around the pair for the most part, were just perfectly fine with this.

"Anyone who is fine with what happened to the Morlocks, or who has ever worked with someone who is fine with that," he said towards Leighton and Max, for once his voice sounded slightly distant. His mind clearly was on something else as he spoke, but it was clear that he wanted nothing to do with the Hellfire Club at all. "If you want to go there, fine, if these guys are fine with you all hanging around still, fun. But just know that most of the time there is no going back from that sort of thing no matter what you may think. Do you really think they'll let you leave if you want to? You clearly don't know people like them then."

Sapphire

Location: Mutant Underground HQ

Sapphire rolled her eyes slightly at Negasonic, but she laughed slightly at the image she showed her. "Honestly, kind of yeah. We managed to avoid too much chaos or whatever, but no one clearly knows not to piss the driver of the car off, otherwise they would have quieted down when I had asked them to. And cool, I'm all for heading to this new lair, it sounds cool to me. And no offense to this old place, but the new one sounds really cool. A bunker of sorts? Sounds like fun..." she said, before she pulled out her cell phone to see about calling Veil. She rolled her eyes slightly at Waverly asking about the others phone numbers.

"Hey Veil, mind telling me where you all are and what's taking so long?"

“Saph? Yeah, you’ll never believe it. We’re in Mister Sinister’s lair.”

"...Please tell me you're joking."

“Sadly no. We’re heading back now. Well most of us are.”

"What do you mean by most of you?" she asked a bit warily, somewhat worried that someone had been killed or something.

“Max and Leighton went with Emma Frost.”

"...Well that's not surprising you do realize that right?"

“Listen I gotta go. Talk to you soon.”

"Oh, tell Havok that apparently the guy who attacked the Underground with Magik apparently is his brother supposedly," she added as a bit of an after thought before she hung up the phone and turned to look at everyone else ow. "They're on their way back, and can I definitely say when it comes to people I told you so? Because apparently two of the newbies decided to go join the Hellfire Club, so yay for being right about not trusting them. Since unless you give me a reason to trust you, I won't, and those two just gave me a really big reason to never trust a thing they say even more so."

Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: Mutant Underground Old HQ
Skills: Radio Wave Manipulation

Waverley's lips curved down into a slight frown when Sapphire made mention of her and her companions not quieting down when told, and she had to fight the urge to defend herself. She wanted to tell Sapphire she was wrong, that she'd zipped her mouth shut as soon as Sapphire had told her too. She wanted to defend the others in the back, to tell her that James was just trying to take care of the scraggly man who was having a breakdown, and that Cayden had just been keeping her calm. But despite the desire to argue clawing at the base of her throat, she kept quiet. Her rationalization, she expected, would likely lead to fighting, and fighting would only make things worse.

Instead, she turned her head to face Colossus, who was listing off phone numbers. She felt herself cringe when he gave her the job. It was exactly what she needed, a task, but she couldn't help to feel a certain condescension behind it. Colossus, or anyone who knew how to use a phone, for that matter, could've easily made the calls. It was a pity task, and she knew it. But when she saw Sapphire dig her phone out of her pocket, she decided that a pity task was better than no task, and closed her eyes. She reached her mind out to the first number Colossus mentioned, and she could feel the call go through, but was answered with an answering machine rather than a person, so she moved onto the next one. She attempted to call it as well, but she couldn't seem to get the call to go through, so she tried the final number. For the first time, she felt it get picked up.

“Hey, this is Waver-, uh, I mean Feedback, this is Feedback, with the rest of the Mutant Underground. We’ve all gotten back safely, and we’re wondering how things are going on your end.” she transmitted, trying to sound professional, but instead coming through as awkward.

"Uh, fine, didn't you guys just call Veil?" Waverley received in reply. It prompted her to open up one of her eyes to see Sapphire putting her phone away, beginning to talk to the group. Waverley closed her eye once more.

“Well...uh...yeah, but I guess I just wanted to...double check. I don’t want to just sit around, and phones are kind of my thing, so I just thought I’d...Nevermind. Anyways, that’s all, I guess we’ll be seeing you soon. Uh, Feedback, signing off.”

"Alright then," with that, Waverley felt the connection cut off, signifying the end of the conversation. She opened up her eyes, coming back to reality just as Sapphire finished up filling in the rest of the team.

"Um...yeah, whatever she said..." Waverley said, her voice somewhat quiet and audibly bummed out from her failed attempt at adequacy.

All of them seemed to make it back to elevators relatively at the same time. Max and Leighton were standing in the elevator, the doors closing when Jack and Sunshine showed up. Sunshine yelled, seeming to be quite emotionally distraught and threw an object towards the elevator that kept the doors from closing. Luna focused on the two in the elevator and saw Max’s eyes. She frowned, did they ever glow like that? She couldn’t recall them ever. Veil pulled her attention away and Luna nodded. She stepped forward, ready to enter Max’s mind when he blew some strange dust in her face. She inhaled on instinct and sneezed as it slipped further into her system. She was overcome with sleepiness and was unable to complete her task and fell to the floor.
When she finally came too, Max and Leighton were gone and everyone around her either looked upset or sad. She rubbed her head and ran a hand over her eyes as she yawned and sat up. ”Wad-I miss?” Her words slurred together as if she had been woken abruptly. She pushed herself to her feet before yawning again. ”Where did Max and Leighton go?” They were getting into the elevator and Max's eyes were glowing, last she remembered. Had Emma convinced them to leave somehow?

Cayden Proudstar - Moonwalker

Location: Old Underground HQ -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Nobody seemed to agree that Cayden should enter the unconscious man’s mind so he didn’t even bother. Illyana was helpful in giving a description of what might be going through Vulcan’s mind and he smirked. ”I take it you’ve had the unlucky conversation to know what he might be thinking?” He was a bit surprised to hear that this man was Havok’s brother. Interesting how Havok’s brother shows up after his girlfriend goes missing.
Cayden turned his attention when Sapphire got a hold of Veil and he gave Waverley a soft smile. At least she was trying to help, even if Sapphire didn’t look at it that way. He waited for the conversation to end and for Sapphire to relay what was going on with the other group. ”Which two?” Surely it wasn’t Glimpse, Captain Britain's daughter. That would be a tough one to swallow for Cayden. He was growing a bit frustrated with Sapphire and her lack of trust for the new people. No, it wasn’t good that two people just left but there were still a lot of newbies sticking around and wasn't the Underground just a way station for Mutants anyways? Heck, one of the people Sapphire claimed to trust, had a brother who just attacked them. Who’s to say Havok didn’t give up their location and lead the drugged up Mutants here. ”Should we all wait here for them or have some of us move ahead to the new location?” Cayden wasn’t sure how long the others would take and waiting out in the open didn’t seem like a good idea either.
