Initiate Trials: Ryndi passed the trials with easiness. Hers took place on the main temple of Coruscant, the only Jedi temple she'd known. She recited the Jedi code flawlessly, then blindfolded used her lightsaber and the Force to spar with combat drones. For her third test she was tasked with detecting lies from a civilian in a mock trial type situation.

Lightsaber: Ryndi wields a single blue bladed lightsaber.

Skills: Ryndi is knowledgeable in three lightsaber forms, though she mainly only practices and trains herself in two of them. The first form she was taught was form I (Shii-cho) which helped her learn the basics of lightsaber combat. The two forms she focuses on are Form IV (Ataru) and Form V (Shien), her experience on the battlefield alongside her master (before his death) helped her with learning both these forms. She's at an apprentice level for both but could be molded into a formidable lightsaber duelist.

Outside of lightsaber combat she's been taught a few basics of martial arts typical to Jedi. She can hold her own in a brawl against some opponents, using the Force to aid her. She's also been taught the art in diplomacy by her master, displaying some charisma with her words. Her master also showed her the basics of battlefield strategy, she knows how to set up basic traps and ambushes.

Force Abilities: Ryndi is skilled with the basic Force powers such as push/pull, using both heavily in training and in combat. She has shown talent with the ability to throw a lightsaber in battle. She also knows how to use the Force to stun her opponents and create protective barriers, but she is not particularly skilled with either of these abilities.

Weaknesses:

• Grieving - Ryndi's master died on the battlefield a few weeks ago. She was helpless to watch him die and blames herself endlessly for it. Its caused her to become more withdrawn while filling herself with constant self doubt. Her sadness and anger is still very evident over the incident. Immediately following her master's death she succumbed to her emotions and her rage, giving her a brush with the dark side. She's still filled with fear from it, fear that she won't be able to succeed. If things get bad she could potentially fall into the darkness.
• Impatience - She's often headstrong in her actions and lacks the patience of more experienced Jedi. Ryndi will frequently charge into situations head on with an alarming boldness.
• Inexperienced - While she is a better combatant than most other padawans she is still technically an apprentice. Someone more experienced and stronger with a lightsaber should be able to beat her soundly. She does showcase potential but at the moment she does not have the experience or practice to be at a higher level.

Character History: Ryndi was born on the quiet farming world of Dantooine to a hardworking family. Her parents provided her and her two older brothers the best they could. When she was five years old a traveling Jedi knight came to the world on a diplomatic mission and discovered the young Ryndi. She would be taken offworld to Coruscant the next day, saying a final goodbye to her loving family. The change from the constant calmness of Dantooine to the endless bustling of Coruscant was something which took some getting used to. As was life without her family, though that was something many Jedi had to learn to deal with. She showed potency with the Force and would pass her initiate trials with relative ease.

She was taken as a padawan by the Jedi Knight Kej Gesi, a experienced Jedi guardian. Master Gesi was very talented with a lightsaber and the martial forms of the Jedi way. He would assist the young Ryndi in learning the ways of the Force greatly. Their first missions together often involved tracking down criminals, one of the most notable involved protecting a small village on a Republic world from a slaver raid. While these were violent, difficult assignments the young padawan accomplished them with her master.

The threat of the separatists would soon arrive and the Clone Wars would begin to tear apart the galaxy. Ryndi was deployed on several missions alongside Master Gesi, some involving commanding clone troopers in direct combat against the droid armies. This type of war was something which shocked her deeply in her first battles. It was one thing taking on disorganized raiders and hunting down rogue criminals, it was another entirely taking part in a war against a fiercely organized army of droids. She would suffer some minor injuries during the war, but nothing which would be life threatening. A broken left hand would knock her out of commission for a few weeks, forcing her master to continue the war effort without her. She'd return once she was back to full health and take part in a raid on a droid processing factory, one of her most notable missions during the Clone Wars. Alongside her master and a detachment of clones she'd drop into a separatist controlled world and break into the factory. The ensuing battle was chaotic but would end in success as the two Jedi managed to sabotage operations inside of it.

War was not without its consequences and causalities, as her most recent operation ended in tragedy. While attempting to free a captive senator the two Jedi would end up in an ambush. Surrounded and flanked by battle droids the duo would be forced to fight their way out of a separatist facility. In the heat of combat Master Gesi was struck down with a blaster bolt, dying instantaneously. Disregarding the teachings she had been taught the young Jedi would tap into her emotions and lash out at the droids besieging her. With a howl Ryndi would carve and slice through the machines like they were paper. A squad of clones arriving to the scene would find Ryndi collapsed on the ground next to her dead master, having carved apart the battle droid which had killed the elder Jedi into an utter scrap heap.

She was brought back to Coruscant the next day, in immediate need of counseling and aid. Rydni's emotional state has been one of fragility ever since that fateful day. While thankfully lacking in physical injuries, her mental and emotional state is ridden with grief. The encroaching downfall of the Jedi being the last thing the scarred Jedi needs.

Initiate Trials: Having trained in the Dantooine Enclave as other members of her family had for generations, her trials consisted first of her knowledge of the Jedi Code by applying it in a series of situations that might call for its tenants. Her second test was a mock duel against a fellow initiate, his single blade against her double-bladed. Her final trial was to experience the Dark Side itself, aiding a fellow initiate who’d lost herself in her anger find her way back to the light. All these trials were passed with flying colors.
Physical Appearance: When catching the light just right, and she hasn’t died her hair some other color, the dark brown looks almost golden in color. Currently, however, the eccentric master has dyed it purple.
Lightsaber:Uses a double-bladed lightsaber with an orange blade.
Skills: Trained in Shii-Cho, Shien/Djem So, and Ataru, she chose to specialize and nearly master forms IV and V, with a focus on Djem So as the possibility of dueling one of the Separatists lightsaber weilding leaders increased over the course of the war. She’s also a decent shot with a blaster, as sometimes charging the enemy line, lightsaber drawn just isn’t practical.
Force Abilities: Along with a mastery of both pull and push, Riven has extensive mastery of many crowd control abilities, though the ability to lock even one opponent in a stasis field is difficult to master. Her most mastered ability, however, is a power known as Force Flame.
Weaknesses: Confidence, focus, and strength are the attributes that Riven seems to exude, however, below this is a struggle with crippling depression and a certain level of social anxiety, though she’s learned how to deal with both to some degree. Being a Jedi, after all, doesn’t mean you’re perfect.
Character History: Riven Je’and was born on the planet Dantooine to Terrance and Seraphine Je'and, both of whom were members of the planetary militia. By age four, however, she had been taken by the Jedi to Coruscant to train as an Initiate under Master Sinon. She had a natural affinity for it, however and picked up some tricks faster than others.

She trained tirelessly under Jedi Master Sinon’s tutelage under the other initiates and when the time came to build their sabers, she embraced the guidance of the Force and followed it. Upon the completion of her double-bladed lightsaber, and some follow up lessons, she took and passed the Initiate Trials alongside the other thirty initiates, but of those thirty, only 10 became Padawans, including Riven herself. From there, she traveled across the galaxy while training under a Nautolan Jedi Master named Runaan. He was as skilled as he was patient and she learned well under his tutelage, even beginning to find new ways to use her lightsaber to fight a variety of foes and fend off a number of creatures without having to overexert herself.

However, one thing that bothered her master was the hilt’s design. “It looks like something the ancient Sith would wield, combined with that of a Jedi’s weapon. Why would you build it to look like that?” Explaining that ignoring that the Sith were the balance to the Jedi and that she believed in maintaining balance when possible amazed the Nautolan, but he respected her wish to honor the entirety of the Force, as she did not have any desire to tamper with the Dark Side, merely acknowledge it.

In her twenty-fifth year, she was knighted after passing her Knight Trials and five years later, after brokering peace between two long time warring tribes on a planet on the edge of Wild Space, which the Jedi had been trying to broker peace on for six generations, she was granted the rank of master. She had trained only one Padawan before the outbreak of the Clone Wars three years later, a Mon Calamari named Troc Ruhde, who lead the 103rd Clone Infantry Division. Master Riven herself lead the 302nd Clone Assault Division, who was responsible for victories on less well known worlds of great strategic value. However, extended battle over the world of Manaan and on the surface required that the 302nd return to Coruscant for reinforcement and resupply. During this time, Riven went to the temple to rest up and meditate in relative peace until they were ready to move out again.

Initiate Trials: Byleth's Initiate Trials were olden in nature yet unorthodox in application. His first trial was conducted in two stages. The first being a practical interview of the Initiates' answers to likely encounters both combative and diplomatic in accordance to the Jedi Code. Out of the fifteen students three were eliminated here. The second part of the first examine consisted of the Initiates' repeating the Jedi Code back and discerning a personal meaning behind the code. Out of the twelve Initiates left one was eliminated at this stage. The second trial was the construction of their lightsabers with kyber-crystals excavated by the Instructors. Those who did not feel the pull of the Force to a certain Kyber crystal were deemed unready by the Force. Out of the eleven Initiates left six were eliminated at this stage. The third trial was a demonstration of their strength in the Force. A massive boulder was chosen for the five Initiates to move separately. Those who managed to lift it even a little passed. Out of five left, two were eliminated at this stage. Only two Initiates went on to become Padawans after these Initiates Trials.

Physical Appearance: Byleth is a human male with curious brown eyes and vernal features. His tan skin is marked by modest freckles, accentuating the innocence that flows off his presence in the Force. He has an organized mess of neck length chestnut brown hair, a trademark strand falling below his right eye. His 5'10" height and gangling stature misleads the steely muscles beneath; his athleticism and efforts etching lines in his skin. Byleth's Jedi garments are white, fitting robes, with grey trousers tucked into black high-boots. Occasionally he wears a overlarge earthy robe and always a black tunic beneath his white robes. Byleth's mentors have commented his choice of clothing, considering them peculiar, if not oddly specific.



Skills: Naturally a analytical thinker, Byleth has a keen sense of observation of both large-scale situations and intimate skirmishes. He has been praised predominantly on his interpersonal skills. A relatively adept practitioner of Form I and III, Byleth would eventually focus on Form VI in hopes of diverging more smoothly into other forms later on. Byleth also became quite the starfighter pilot due to his dislike of entertaining others needlessly in the past, the hushed silence of the fighter and space gave plenty of time to detangle the clutter of his mind.

Force Abilities: Byleth's notable skills in the Force includes Force Freeze and Mind Trick, two skills that along with his nuance use of Force Push and Force Pull has set him apart from other Initiates.

Weaknesses: Byleth puts on a shallow facade to hide away his insecurities. He is usually withdrawn and quiet; fretting over the small details and battling a deep sense of guilt. His desire to save beings however is his greatest weakness, when presented with the immediate opportunity to help someone he becomes slightly irrational. This coupled with his empathetic heart and genuine kindness tends to get out of hand. Outside of that, his mentality of being good at a little of everything has left him a master of nothing.

Character History: Byleth was discovered and found by a Jedi Master on a unrelated mission. Taken to the temple on Coruscant he was trained under Master Yoda along with other younglings. After his Initiate Trials he was quickly picked up by a male Togruta Jedi Knight named Elda Beh. His master was man of duty, pride, and kindness. During the Clone Wars, he was deeply involved with defending the Togruta species. Typically obedient of The Council, this one time, Elda Beh disregarded his orders to provide assistance to the enslaved Togrutas of Kiros. Upon arrival Byleth and Elda Beh begun small skirmishes in the name of liberating the Togrutas. They made heavy leeway in the beginning but when retaliation on the slaves had begun to become indiscriminate and brutal, Elda Beh was hit with a titanic wave of guilt.

For a time they ceased all activity until a mysterious flux in the Force drew them to a quiet cove carved into a cliffside. There they found black-skinned humanoid whose body was whip-like, taunt and skinny, draped in a dark cloak kneeling on the cold ground. The air was so still upon entering the cove that not a fold of his cloak moved. Elda Beh spoke barely above a whisper, confidence heavy in his voice. "Stay back, Apprentice. I'll make this quick."

Byleth nodded obediently, taking several feet back as the hum of his Master's lightsaber struck the silence. The Dark Side user shifted then slowed rose to his feet, a wave nausea assaulted Byleth, churning his stomach and rattling his bones. He watched with horror as the mysterious figure ignited a red blade and pounced towards his Master. Elda Beh's attacks were unsteady from the beginning of the bout and soon, his style of attack were becoming completely unrecognizable. They grew more and more vicious and his presence in the Force was darkening the longer he fought. By the time the battle had ended, the Dark Side user was kneeling over his bloodied master, petting the Togruta's head affectionately.

Without a word, the black-skinned man conveyed a eerie sentiment to Byleth. A command; to take his Master away from the cove or they would surely regret staying. Byleth did so cautiously, the harsh trek to the cove had been made tortuous with the dead-weight of his Master on his back. With little word to anyone, only the Council, Byleth left Kiros, returning to Coruscant with a mind-addled Master. A few weeks later he found he had been stripped of Master Elda Beh and told to wait at the Temple until another Master could be found for him. Periodically he would gleam tid-bits of information about his Master. How not only his mind was being ravaged but likewise his presence in the Force. The Council and Healers held hope that they could cure his ailment. Byleth did not; they had not felt the potency of that Dark Side user, the creepy, steely machinations that had oozed off him.

Eventually his guilt urged him to become involved with the ongoing investigation, that he was at first, hesitant to assist in. His fear of this gaunt man, draped in a too-large robe of black, was palpable in the Force. And yet, oddly enough, it also became the catalyst for change. Back on Kiros, with a handful of Jedi Knights and a singular Master, Byleth found himself speaking out during the investigation. Guiding them along their path to the cove with an expectant, yet calm demeanor. A part of him wanted nothing more than to see this being again. This man with shiny black-skin and a red lightsaber. This man who had infected his Master with some Force Disease. This man who possibly had the cure.

At once, the Master staid his steps at the entrance. He wobbled slightly and mentioned a shudder in the Force. Byleth was quick to remind them of his Master's awkwardness at the beginning of the battle. "Guards up, Jedi." The Master was no slouch, certainly not foolish, and above all else, he was cautious.

It was terrifying to step back into the cove. Like stepping back into a nightmare, only this time Byleth was prepared. The gaunt Dark Sider rose to his feet and again Byleth remained a few steps behind the others, lightsaber ignited and trembling. Again that nausea echoed through him. The Jedi seemed unaffected... at first. Very quickly it became apparent that the Knights were slipping, making mistakes that led to two of their deaths. The Master was holding up well, beating back the Dark Sider until he was desperate enough to take a hostage.

Byleth was held prisoner by the glow of his bloody blade. The horrid stench on the Dark Sider assailed him with each of his panicked breath. "Let me be, Jedi! Do that and this welp livess. Move an inch. We both die." His voice was dead, coarse and quiet.

There was moment between the Master's reply, hard to detect, that he pleaded sternly, through eye contact, for Byleth to defend himself. "What are you? Sith?"

That plea calmed his mind for a second, just long enough for him to realize who and what he was. He was Byleth Tes, a Jedi Padawan, strong in the Force but weak when it mattered. When the situation required grit, he usually folded. Not this situation, he decided. It was mystical, a serene whisper in his heart but he knew it to be the Force. It showed, not with images but intent and feeling, what needed to be done.

Byleth directed his palm towards the Dark Sider and exerted. It was only a stillness that lasted a single moment but the Master had noticed it and quicker than was thought possible, acted. He sped forward, stabbing his blue lightsaber through the Dark Sider's skull. The blade sung so close to Byleth's ear that it stole that sense for several minutes.

The Master explained on the way back to Coruscant that Byleth's latent ability was both rare and powerful; Force Freeze was its name. It spoke on the soft nuance with which the Padawan used the Force. It also appeared that the Force Disease was directly tied to the skeletal Dark Sider. With his death, the remaining Knight and Master found its effects fading. That gave Byleth hope, that the eight standard-days it had taken to defeat his Master's adversary was worth it.

When he returned, that hope was dashed. The Force had been stripped of his Master, that was the last stage of the disease, an irrevocable detachment from the Force. It killed one's Midi-Chlorians, depleted them. If not for them slaying the Dark Sider, it would have eventually killed all infected. In the end Master Elda Beh was 'released' of his duties as a Jedi. That singular outcome carved Byleth inside-out for a time, he never even said his goodbyes.

He was left with a sense of guilt and a sense of deep-confusion at the irony of his growth and descent. If he had not been so obedient, if only he was a bit more assertive earlier on, maybe, perhaps, he could have saved his Master. Perhaps...
