Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Galactus Ship - (Group 2) -- SPACE
Skills:

Antoinette watched Lance with wide eyes and was even more surprised with the Silver Surfer putting up one hell of a fight against Hulk Lance. She didn’t think something like that was really possible but they were fighting people and creatures they had never come across so anything was possible. Lance watched the fighting with rapt attention until she felt static in the air and then Mirembe was gone from her side.

Antoinette whirled to see Mirembe get thrown back from the console after pushing a series of buttons. ”Mira!” She moved to go and help Mirembe but she was already on the move, coming back to the console. Antoinette watched her with concern as she pressed another button that seemed to match a flashing in the protective case before she collapsed. Antoinette dropped with Mirembe and checked the vital signs through her helmet and shook. ”She’s barely breathing… The shock she got must have altered her pacemaker,” Antoinette said, fear in her voice.

She looked up at the console and the case across the room. Antoinette could see the shimmering and then nothing. The case was still there but whatever force that was around it, was now disarmed and they had a better chance at getting the device now. The thing was, Antoinette didn’t want to leave Mirembe. ”Lina, do you think you could get that case thingy now? Or you Iris?” Antoinette suggested, looking at either of them.

Guin Stark

Location: Galactus' Ship - Central Room
Skills: Telepathy, Electronics and Computers
Elizabeth definitely earned herself an invite to the wedding, Guin couldn't help but comment as one of the newest members of the X-Men managed to repair Pietro's feet. Agreed. It was something closer to alchemy than science, but she wasn't about to correct her on that. Alchemy was a precursor to chemistry anyways. She was right about one thing though - this wasn't supposed to be a fight that they could win. The anger and rage at the Surfer hurting Pietro and her friends was fueling Guin at the moment, feeding into her confidence. They were going to find a way to win this - they just needed to be clever.

"Wait - don't!" Guin shouted as Beth told Sara to copy her power and use it to go into the containment device around the nullifier. Sara was rather petite, but the nullifier was extremely small and it wasn't that large of a case around it - would she even fit? Guin winced, instinctively closing her eyes slightly as she didn't want to witness Sara's death. She opened them again a second later, relieved to see that Sara was outside of the containment case. The Surfer had saved her. Her stomach felt a bit like it was twisted up in knots. If Sara had died that way... it would have been a brutal way to go.

She bit her lip slightly. Pietro didn't have much luck phasing through to grab the device either. A shockwave then flew Guin backwards and she slammed against the ground. Even though she had an Iron Man suit on, it was still enough of an impact that her back would likely be bruised for days. As she lifted her head and forced herself back up to her feet, she could see Thor trying to shatter the case and Lance - no, the Hulk - fighting the Surfer hand to hand. Mira managed to take down the containment field and Guin broke out into a grin - now they just needed to grab the thing and ask Mister Fantastic to beam them out of there.

"Shit! I've got this, everyone else focus on getting the device or backing up Hulk Jr!" Guin shouted, rushing over to Mira. Her vital signs were incredibly low and Guin wasn't a doctor. However, she knew a few things about the heart. Her father still had a glorified pacemaker of his own - the arc reactor - keeping him alive. Pepper and Happy had made sure she knew a few quick solutions to try growing up, just in case something happened. "Alright, to correct a pacemaker I need to find a way to give you external pulses," she mumbled. "Luckily for you, you're encased in Stark tech, which happens to be my mother tongue..."

She then started accessing her heads up display panel, quickly working to send command code to Mira's suit. It took her a few seconds, but she managed to get the electric pulses running. The vital scans then showed that Mira's heart rate was beginning to recover. "Alright, rhythm seems to be restored..."

Neil Spellman

Location: Galactus' Ship - Central Room
Skills: Minor Molecular Combustion, Telekinesis
Neil's chest constricted painfully as he watched Sara copy Beth's abilities and shadow travel her way inside of the containment case. He couldn't make himself look away, seeing how she was trapped in a space too small for her to occupy - but there was then a silver blur and their enemy, of all people, had saved her. He let out a breath he didn't know he had been holding, his hands trembling as he realized that he had watched his girlfriend almost die. The mission became all the more real to him. This wasn't just a danger room exercise. The Silver Surfer was most likely the most powerful foe the X-Men had faced.

His fear only increased as Lance, the Hulk, went on a rampage against the Silver Surfer. Did Lance know who was his enemy? Would the Hulk turn on them and start pounding easier targets? Neil wanted to run away, to steal a pod and escape to some other planet. He was just a kid expected to save the world. He could scarcely breathe as Annie pointed out that they could grab the device and its containment case now. He didn't want Sara or anyone else to try traveling inside of it again. He didn't want to think about the likelihood that Mira was going to die right now, with her pacemaker failing.

"I've got it." Neil concentrated, ripping the device and its case over towards him with his telekinesis. As soon as the case was in his hand, he used his control over combustion to blow the cage apart, allowing him to retrieve the nullifier from within. Without a moment's hesitation, he aimed the device at the Silver Surfer. "Stand down," he said, trying his best to sound confident and stern. "Or I'll use this."

Bethany Bell

Location: Galactus' Ship, Central Room
Skills: Shadow Manipulation

Bethany thought that she could just grab the case and then get out rather quickly as Sara tried to use her ability to get it and realized that it was to small for her. But luckily the Silver Surfer managed to save her, letting out a slight sigh though she wasn't sure why he even helped her in the first place. Bethany closed her eyes again and started to concentrate on getting her powers back, on the first try she couldn't but on the second she was finally able to again. Feeling a lot better now as she watched Lance Hulk hulking out on The Silver Surfer keeping him distracted. She noticed vines that Mary had gone from black to green and looked over at her for a moment wondering what had happened to Mary.

Until she was hit with a shockwave sending her flying back, and hitting the back of her head, feeling her ears ringing badly and blood sliding down the front of her forehead. Letting out a groan as she could feel some burns on her body as well, Bethany rolled onto her side, and slowly got up to her feet again and tried to use her powers again on the Silver Surfer, but couldn't get them to work at all again. She watched as the case to the Nullifer had gone out and yanked over to Neil, as well as Mira's vitals weren't good until Guin stepped in and helped.

Carolina Reed

Location: Galactus' Ship, Central Room
Skills: Astral Projection

Carolina watched as Mira went to work on the alien console, technology really wasn't her area of expertise either as she watched her work on it. And saw Thor throwing some lightening at the case as well, though it didn't work at all it seemed until Mira ended up getting a shock from it knocking her back. She noticed that her vitals started to spike and starting to fade quiet a bit until finally the little barrier that was protecting the Nullifier had gone down. Carolina really wanted to help her, when Guin came over and aided her letting out a slight sigh it looked like she was alright for now.

Carolina nodded towards Annie and was about to grab the case before Neil managed to beat her to it, and used his powers to break the case open, her eyes going wide when Neil threatened to use it on The Silver Surfer and quickly ran over towards him. "Neil we have what we came for." She said, hoping that he wouldn't actually fire it and they can go back home and call Mister fantastic to beam them all back down to Earth.

Elizabeth Flame

Location: Galactus' Ship (team 2) (Central room)
Skills: Transmutation

Eliza's face broke out into a grin as the Nullifier was in their hands. Now, they couldn't be beat, she was sure of it. She didn't know if Neil had the conviction to actually go through with using the Nullifier if he had to, but this should at least give the Surfer pause enough to not try anything immediately. Grinning, she said, "Neil, get that in Quicksilver's hands, we gotta get out of here." Between the nullifier, and Hulk-Lance, and Pietro, she saw a way out of this, assuming Lance was half the Hulk his father was. If Lance could keep the Surfer distracted, they could get the Nullifier out of here. It was at that point, that she has an even better idea on top of that.

Reaching her hand back out at the Surfer, she clenched her teeth, and let out a grunt, trying her hardest to use these powers she was given. She figured, if that was metal around him, she could make it into something else. It turned out, she was right, managing to get the Surfer's leg to turn into regular iron, "Lance! I got his leg, you should be able to break it now, but hurry, I don't know how long it will last." Staring down the Surfer, she glared, ready to try to turn it back if he shifted it before Lance could get to it. Hopefully, a Surfer with a broken leg would be something they could escape from.

Allison Andrews and Sara Grey

Location: Central Room
Skills: N/A

Allison watched in horror as Sara nearly got herself killed, but was thankfully saved by the Silver Surfer. So he had morals at least. "Let us try at least! We have to..." but before she could get the words out, he had blasted them again, sending her spiraling back and slamming to the floor. She got up, hurt, but the fight wasn't over. They had to do something, get some kind of leverage against him. Fighting would not work. Neither would diplomacy, apparently.

Sara had missed the blast, but only by a slim margin. She didn't know if he intended to not hurt her anymore, but she wasn't going to give him a chance as she scrambled away, just as Annie announced they could grab it and Neil ran forward and did so. Now they had something at least. It was what they came for. Surely the guy wasn't stupid enough to attack with the Nullifier in place.

Allison held her hands up now. The situation was becoming very tense. They had a lot of injured people. Mira was now down. Allison ran over to check. "She's in trouble. She needs medical help quickly." It was more directed to everyone, but especially The Silver Surfer. Would he allow her to die? He had saved Sara. She hoped he would just allow them to walk out. But how far did his hold here stretch?

Sara wasn't having it either. "Look, thanks for saving me and all that. Really, but we need that thing if we have any hope of saving our world. We're not just going to take it lying down. The rest of the aliens in this ship, did they put up a fight? Did they surrender? I can't imagine anyone not putting up some resistance to some world eater. Even if they lost, they still tried. That's what matters." Sara bit her tongue as she was about to say they would try something else if it didn't. They had no back-up plan, as was evident before. This was all or nothing.

Marygold Isley and Lance Banner

Location: Galactus' Ship - Central Room -> Back to Earth
Skills: Chlorokinesis, ???

Mira unfortunately was still unconscious, Guin had managed to stabilize her for the moment, but the problems with someone who has heart issues is that could change in an instant no matter what you did. So she wasn't out of the woods yet when it came to that. Thor took the hint from Elizabeth, and sent his hammer flying at the Silver Surfer, his leg smashing as Mjolnir collided with the metal and smash it apart. Lance meanwhile sent his fist slamming into the Silver Surfer as well, knocking him backwards before he more or less stumbled back and away, and started shrinking down somehow back to normal.

"...You don't even know how to use that, you have no idea how much power you hold in your hand. Perhaps that is for the best... However... I will not stop you... You think this combat was difficult, you have not seen anything yet," the Silver Surfer responded to the comments that everyone else said, almost like he was sad about something. "In reality, I have never been here. I am truthfully on Earth, right now. There are better ways to die then how you almost did, suffocating in a box, however you might be able to have a better death against me on Earth, or perhaps you will be able to save your planet." When he spoke, he looked at Sara, before his form more or less shimmered slightly, and he disappeared from the room.

"Wait a minute..." Mary muttered, her mind racing as she thought about what he had just said. "...If he was never really here then... Crap we have to get that thing back now!" she said quickly, before she went to try and establish a connection with someone, anyone really back on Earth. They had been fighting the Silver Surfer in a smaller room, with no way to easily move around. But on Earth? He'd have the run of the entire world to fly around and wreck havoc. Based on how hard of a time they had fighting him here? She didn't even want to think about what the Silver Surfer could do on Earth.

"Ow my head hurts... So what's going on? Where'd he go?" Lance asked, a bit dazed from the whole Hulking out thing. It made his head spin, and he wasn't too sure what to really think about the Surfer suddenly disappearing, it took a moment for his head to clear somewhat so that he could hopefully pay some attention to what actually was going on.

"Surfer man disappeared, he's on Earth!" Warlock spoke up, entering the room, he had not been too sure about potentially fighting against the Surfer here, but to him Earth was a beautiful planet, so he was not going to stand by all too much when it actually came to protecting the planet.

"Hey can anyone hear me? What's going on down there, cause we have the Nullifier!" Mary instantly said into the communications. There was a bit of static from some sort of interference, and everyone would be able to hear the person who spoke in response, as Mary had set it so that everyone would be able to hear whoever answered it.

"Good, we have a bit of a situation down here, but I should be able to transport you back, give me a moment!" Mr. Fantastic's voice responded, but he sounded a bit rushed and a little bit out of breath.

"Once again, mind telling us what's going on so we know what to expect when we get down there?"

"The Silver Surfer is here and is not going down very easily, but I also assure you that Galactus likely is not going to stand by much longer. So you all have impeccable timing regarding the Nullifier!" The group would be able to hear a rather large boom coming from somewhere nearby where he was.

"So, the Surfer we were fighting was just a distraction, stalling us from getting the Nullifier and returning to Earth quickly..."

"Just get us back there already! Oh, and we might be bringing someone else back with us, a Technarch named Warlock," she said these last words as a bit of an after thought.

"I have a lock on your signals, taking into account that Lance no longer has one of the suits and your friend there. No guarantees that you'll land at Stark Tower because of some interference, but I'll get you as close as possible!" with those last words, the communication cut out.

"...Based on what he just said, I'm guessing New York is probably not in one piece anymore..."

"Yeah, that is a bit concerning..."

"We either need to get that thing to someone who actually knows how to use it once we're down there, or hope someone in our group here can actually bluff and is brave enough to actually go right up to Galactus."

I veto you volunteering to potentially do that.

Warlock wandered over to where people were over by Mira and picked her up, looking at them. "There are medical facilities on Earth if self remembers correctly that can help her correct?" he said simply, before there was suddenly a flash of something that enveloped the group, and they instantly were transported down to Earth yet again, with Neil still able to hold onto the Nullifier.

They ended up actually landing pretty close to their intended destination, right outside of Stark Tower, but considering the chaos around them, that was a small miracle. There was bits of burning rubble from broken buildings scattering the streets, people were running for cover to try and get out of the city's tall buildings. Glancing over at the building that they were by, Stark Tower hadn't escaped everything unscathed, as there were large gaping holes in the building, and a few floors of the building had smoke coming from them. There was glass that scattered the streets, and they'd be able to hear a loud booming sound coming from somewhere off not too far from where they were, but there also was the sounds of fighting coming from up above them in Stark Tower itself.

"...So, this is pretty bad... Alright, we need to get that device to someone, or find out where the best vantage point in the city is for potentially threatening a giant purple planet thing with a device that is fairly small. Some of us need to head inside Stark Tower see what's going on up top, others need to go see what's going on off in the rest of the city... And maybe we should see about making sure that the civilians who are still on the ground get off the streets," Mary said instantly, before she pulled her mask and helmet off of her head as she looked at the chaos. This was insane, it looked almost like a war zone in the area that they were in at the moment, and she was more or less panicking, however they had to do something since this time, they literally were saving the entire world, but then again, they had done some pretty big things in their time as a team.

They managed to stop Magneto from killing all humans on Earth, averted an apocalyptic future that would have destroyed the world, managed to not kill each other and stop a powerful telepath, and managed to get a reality to switch back when most of them hadn't even remembered who they were. They had a long list of accomplishments, so why not add actually saving the world to it? She just hoped that they actually lived to potentially add more things to that list of things that they have done.

Neil Spellman

Location: Galactus' Ship - Central Room -> Outside Stark Tower
Skills: N/A
Neil figured it couldn't be too hard to figure out how to use the nullifier. When in doubt, just press a button, right? And in his opinion, someone unaware of how to use the weapon they were holding - especially when it was an all powerful one - just made them more dangerous. But as the Silver Surfer vanished, he gritted his teeth slightly. It had just been an illusion they had been struggling against? His eyes darted over towards Annie, wondering if she knew the entire time. Everything then went by so fast that before he knew it, they had been transported back to Earth by Mister Fantastic. Neil opened up the helmet of his suit, making that fatal hero's error of taking off a protective helmet in the midst of a war zone.

He had seen photographs of the Battle of New York - of the wreckage and horrors unleashed by Loki. He had seen video tapes of 9/11. This... This sent a chill down his spine, goosebumps covering his arms as his heard palpitated. This was horrible. He didn't even want to think about the civilian casualties - or even how many heroes must have fallen already against the Silver Surfer and Galactus. The nullifier in his hand felt incredibly small in all of this. Would Galactus even notice they had the weapon if they threatened him with it? And who would be able to be convincing with it? "Guin - you know this city better than the rest of us," Neil then copped out, "What do we do next?" He didn't know what building would be tall enough or if it would just be a better idea to let the Avengers handle things.

Guin Stark

Location: Galactus' Ship - Central Room -> Outside Stark Tower
Skills: Telepathy
Guin was wildly confused. If the Silver Surfer had been an illusion... then what had she tried to switch with? Raw power? No wonder it had made her brain feel like it was melting, imploding, and exploding all at once. It also just demonstrated how serious this threat was. She had seen Annie use her illusions combatively, but they were nowhere near the level of what the Surfer had accomplished. They had the nullifier though. As long as they kept a death grip on it, they'd be fine. Telling me not to do a thing makes me want to do the thing, she commented to Pietro, though her mental focus was really more on what Mister Fantastic had said - and the explosion in the background of his call.

In the blink of an eye, they were back down onto the ground - no longer on Galactus' ship. She gasped slightly, holding a gloved hand up to her mouth. For a moment, she was a little kid again, staring at the destruction of New York at Loki's hands, seeing her home decimated. Her father had nearly died going into a gigantic wormhole up in the sky. Guin took a steadying breath, reminding herself that this was a different day, a different battle - and that she couldn't afford to lose her focus.

Especially as she was being asked questions. "Well, Stark Tower has a great vantage point into the sky... It worked for Loki to summon the Chitauri, so it might work for us to talk to Galactus. Otherwise, the Empire State Building..." she drifted off for a moment. They could fly up to the top of one of those buildings with their suits and threaten Galactus, getting his attention. It'd be the most credible coming from one of their tech minded people - her, Mira, or Lance. Mira's heart condition ruled her out, she needed a real doctor to see her soon. And Lance kept going green.

"I can take the device up to the top of Stark Tower - or we can all go up there as a group, show unity against Galactus and threaten him together."

Iris Rivers

Location: Galactus' Ship -> Earth
Skills:

Iris flew backwards as she felt the surge of energy collide with her, causing her skin to instantly sizzle with energy and heat Iris didn't recognize as fire. She landed hard on her back, her head slamming back hard against the cold metal floor. It dazed her, eyes squeezing shut as throbbing pain drowned out any coherent thoughts. For a few split seconds, she forgot where she was and what was happening. But as she blinked a few times, the pain dulled to an ever present throbbing quiet enough for her to hear herself think. As she pushed herself wobbly off the floor, her memories came back to her. She'd done her job, blocking Mira from the Surfer's blast. It had hurt like hell, but at least Mira was oka-

Her eyes widened as she caught glance of Mira on the ground, surrounded by some of the others. Iris rushed over to them, though her walk was unstable, her mind feeling somewhat detached from her body after the blow to her head. She watched standing over Mira as Guin appeared to be fiddling with Mira's suit. When Annie said Iris' name, it took her a few seconds to even comprehend that she was being spoken to. But then, she lifted her head, giving a nod.

"Uh, yeah, can do," she said, turning her head to look towards the encased device, only to see Neil already grabbing it, tearing it open with his abilities as though it were a birthday present. Iris watched the exchange, with Neil holding the Nullifier, and the Surfer speaking, before disappearing in a shimmer like a magic disco ball. As he did, the helmet around Iris' head lowered, revealing her pale blonde hair soaked in sticky scarlet. She reached her hand back behind her head, lightly tapping the injury, before bringing it in front of her eyes.

"I...think I might have a concussion..." she mumbled. She'd never had a concussion, so she wasn't sure, but her brain felt like it was pounding against the back of her skull, and she was feeling lightheaded. Her eyes drifted to Marygold as she spoke, causing Iris to groan. "We're not done?" she said in annoyance, her lips curved down in a pout. But she dropped any other complaints that might've gathered in her head as a light surrounded them, and they appeared outside Stark Tower.

Iris furrowed her eyebrows with distaste at the crumbling city around them. New York wasn't her home. She didn't even like the place. But seeing it in such disrepair made her swell with pity. She looked over to Mary as she explained what needed to be done, then to Guin as she weighed in.

"I'm not sure if more of us would make us more threatening. After all, he's afraid of the gizmo, not us." Iris replied, before her eyes scanned the group, looking to see if Mira made it back with them. Her eyes eventually fell on the girl's limp body, in the arms of an unfamiliar robot. She didn't think to question it. "Does Mira need medical attention right away, or should we wait until the world's saved?" as she asked it, her voice was lined with concern.

Location: Outside Stark Tower -- New York City, New York

Antoinette was grateful when Guin was able to rush over and help Mirembe. She was still unconscious but Antoniette was relieved to see some positives in Mirembe’s vitals. With that situation relatively under control, she looked over to watch Neil get his hands on the device and sighed with relief. The next step was getting away from the Silver Surfer. She wasn’t sure threats were the best idea but it seemed it wouldn’t matter as the Silver Surfer wasn’t even with them. Anotinette’s heart sank at the realization. How were they going to defeat the real thing when all they were up against was an astral projection?
Within the next few moments they were down on Earth again, within New York City and Antoinette grabbed onto Carolina’s hand at the sight. The city had gone through so much destruction on a yearly, sometimes monthly basis. It never got easier seeing it like this, hearing the screaming and smelling the burning. Antoinette’s vision narrowed as a panic started to set in but she clung to the hand she was holding onto and Mary’s words, followed by Neil then Guin’s. She opened up her helmet and felt less claustrophobic as she looked around. They were hardly out of the woods yet.
She looked over at the one holding Mirembe. ”Will you be able to get her to the appropriate hospital?” Hopefully there was one still standing. ”I can come with you if you need,” she offered. She didn’t really want to leave the group and she wanted to help the screaming people around her as well but for some reason, she had to make sure Mirembe was going to be okay.

Bethany's visor was pulled off her face and rubbed her forehead slightly, looking down at her bloody hand a bit which brought back memories for what she did to Annie and Carolina when Mesmero messed with her head. Which was something that she still regretted doing to her, she hadn't messed with either of them since then. When she heard Mary speaking into the radio and hearing Mr. Fantastic voice on the other end. She could easily hear the fighting going on the other end as well where the others were fighting the real Silver Surfer, and then a few seconds later they were all back in New York City.

Bethany looked around seeing the destruction reminded her a lot of the news that she watched during the Chitauri invasion, she looked at Iris for a moment and shook her head slightly. "Of course she needs medical attention right away." She said as Bethany listened to Guin suggesting where the best place was to show Galactus where the Nullifier was now in their hands. "Stark Tower works for me, I can get there quickly and bring us all there if you want." Beth suggested.

Carolina looked around the destruction of New York City, she instantly remembered the Chitauri that were on Galactus' ship, and shuddered slightly which reminded her of that day pretty easily. She looked over at Annie as she moved the visor to reveal her face and tried to reassure her friend that it was going to be alright. Then her attention turned towards Warlock and nodded towards him, she remembered the area pretty well.

"Theres a hospital a block away from here, hopefully they can do something there." Carolina said looking over at Annie and smiled a bit again. "After we take Mira to the hospital Annie and I could try and save the civilians." Carolina suggested before offering to take Mira off of Warlocks hands. "Follow me." Carolina said before flying off down the city block as quickly as she could, finding the hospital that was there and quickly entered looking for some kind of help.

Elizabeth Flame

Location: Galactus' Ship -> Earth

As they were teleported back to Earth, Elizabeth looked around at the destruction in front of her. This was not good, at all, and seeing what the Surfer could do made her marvel. This was the sort of powers that, even as Xmen or Avengers, people didn't often see. It looked like an army had gone through here, but she knew it was, in all probability, just one man, versus Earth's mightiest heroes. "Yeah, priority has to be getting that Nullifier to a place where it can be used on Galactus, the sooner this battle ends, the better." Looking back at Mira, she nodded to the crew leaving with her. Taking care of their own was important, but they couldn't let that distract from the importance of their mission.

"We should go as a group to the top, er, Guin right?" She asked, thinking this might be the first time they had actually spoken. "If you go up alone, and somebody else is there, or sees you there and ambushes you, we could lose the Nullifier, and then it's game over." That was the correct move to her, though she admittedly had less experience than anybody else here, so her tactics could be off. In reality, she wanted to be there when they threatened this planet eating monster. This was her first real mission, and she didn't want to be sidelined at the end of everything. It just so happened that, what she considered good strategy lined up with her own desire.

"Hell no you are not going anywhere near the purple planet eater!" Pietro instantly said. staring at Guin as he shook his head at her. Nope, nope, she was not going up there to do anything of the sort! It was suicide, and he'd prefer her to not be blown to pieces, since he also knew that if all else failed she probably would fire the machine off and cause herself to die as well as Galactus.

"Pietro, is now really the time to be overly protective of Guin or whatever?"

"Yup, it is!"

Mary rolled her eyes slightly at that. Thor took off into the air, heading farther along towards where some of the commotion was being caused. "We also don't really know how stable any of the buildings are, one miss step and for all you know you could end up falling through the floor. However, since we're here, we might as well see about getting up to the top of Stark Tower, since it's here and we can at least try to do something. Bethany, I'm all for you trying to get us up as far up the building as you can so we can hurry up and get to the top..." she said, before there was a crash and right next to the group there was a thud as a small crater appeared, with someone working on standing up again.

It was the Human Torch.

Johnny Storm stood up, dusting himself off somewhat, before glancing over at the group. There were several cuts and gashes all over him, as he managed to stumble somewhat over to the group. "So you guys are back? That's great! Maybe we can get this over with, get that thing upstairs and hopefully get Galactus and the damn Surfer away from here!" he said, before he lit up and took off into the sky again. The group would instantly see him send fire off at something as he flew out of sight.

"...Well that's not exactly too reassuring... So, guess we're heading upstairs then or whatever?" Lance asked, glancing over towards the others.

Mary thought of Carolina's words, "Yeah, that would be good, just because we have to hurry up and go after Galactus himself, doesn't mean we should forget the civilians, see if you can get her help, and then get any civilians you find off the street, quickly." she said after Warlock nodded his head slightly at Carolina and handed Mira over to her. Mira was still unconscious and wasn't so much as even stirring yet.

Lance looked at the building, before looking back at the others again. "Alright, are we heading up there or what? We can't stand around here all day, otherwise something bad will probably happen aside from the Human Torch getting knocked out of the sky and creating a crater near us. It was true, the commotion a few blocks away seemed to be getting closer, and the commotion coming from upstairs was definitely getting a lot louder.

Hospital
Carolina would be able to reach the hospital without any sort of problems, and relatively quickly. The entrance was in chaos for the most part, people sitting in chairs dirty and battered from the fighting outside, and nurses and doctors were racing around trying to take care of everyone possible. One nurse saw her and instantly raced over. "Alright, what's wrong and what happened? Need to determine if it's life threatening or if it could wait a little while. If it isn't obvious, are resources are spread a bit thin and we barely have time to address everyone here before a whole lot more come in. It's a bit chaotic out there right now," she said, before looking over at Mira.

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Outside Stark Tower ---> Hospital -- New York City, New York
Skills:

Antoinette watched Carolina take Mirembe from Warlock and she closed her helmet back up before taking off with Carolina as well. The three of them made it to the hospital relatively quickly and made their way to the front desk. The hospital was crowded with people, smells and sounds. The fighting outside had affected the hospital but not enough to be slowing people down. Antoinette looked around at the various injuries and people before a nurse came over and asked what was wrong with Mirembe. When she told Antoinette that depending on what was wrong with her and that she may have to wait, Antoinette’s heart sunk. What a world they lived in when people would have to wait for the health care they had to pay for but in crisis, this was the best one could do.
”She had a heart episode. She was electrocuted which set her pacemaker off and she wasn’t able to gain normal rhythm without being shocked again,” Antoinette said and flipped her helmet off to look at the nurse face to face. ”She’s stable as far as we know but she hasn’t been awake since being electrocuted and what’s that been, twenty minutes now Lina?” Antoinette’s sense of time was all over the place.

Iris Rivers

Location: Outside Stark Tower
Skills:

Iris' lips pursed into a frown at Bethany's firm declaration of Mira's need for help, but quickly gave a small nod. The question hasn't been one of cruelty or apathy, but rather one of ignorance. She wasn't at all a medical professional, but it sounded like Mira was in a stable enough condition, especially given the likelihood that there were hundreds of thousands of people in need of medical attention. But from what the others were saying, it sounded like Mira wasn't in as stable condition as Iris had assumed. As the unconscious young woman was carried off, she turned to look to look at the dark haired girl she recognized as Elizabeth, one of her fellow newbies.

"Actually, yeah, that's a good point," Iris replied, agreeing with Elizabeth's sentiment of standing with Guin, and, in doing so, protecting the Nullifier. She was about to open her mouth to speak once again when something plummeted into the ground. The dust settled to reveal one of the people from earlier, a member of...the Crazy Quartet? Iris was pretty sure that was right. When he pushed them to rush to the top of the tower, Iris toyed with her suit, causing the helmet to close in around her head. She jumped from the ground, using her suits flying feature to keep her hovering a few feet above the crowd. She looked around to the others. "I assume we're flying and not taking the stairs, right?"

Guin Stark

Location: Outside Stark Tower
Skills: N/A
"Try not to puke in the suit if you have a concussion," Guin advised Iris. She had gotten a concussion when they raided the Brotherhood Lab years ago and had ended up vomiting during the mission. It hadn't been the prettiest sight. She nodded in agreement as Bethany said that Mira needed medical attention ASAP. With her heart condition, she could go into cardiac arrest again at any given moment. She just hoped the hospitals in New York weren't too overwhelmed, that there would be someone available to help Mira. Sure, they didn't have the same level of medicine as Wakanda did, but... She didn't want to consider a world without Mira in it.

Her fiancé (predictably) wasn't exactly enthused about the idea of her going up there to threaten Galactus alone. She loved him, but he could be so incredibly frustrating sometimes. She didn't like to be restrained. She was restless that way, like the sea. She jumped slightly at the sudden crash of the Human Torch, blushing slightly as she had had a crush on him as a kid. He also had a strange resemblance to Captain America - and a definite dad bod. "Let's fly up as a group, then - the stairs are probably too much of a risk and it'll take too long. And don't even think about going off on an elevator."

She was about to kick off into the air when a blur zipped by and grabbed her, forcing her to stay on the ground. "Pietro, what the hell?!" Guin snapped.

"No! You are not going up there!"

"We're all going up there - as a team!" she argued.

"You are not!"

Guin's eyes narrowed. She hated being told what she could and couldn't do. "I am going. We're both going. I don't have the Nullifier, Neil does, so you don't need to worry about the device killing me. I am a part of the X-Men and I get that you're scared, but you don't get to decide if I'm part of the team or not."

"Guina seriously? I get that you are a part of the team, but going up to deal with the big purple thing doesn't exactly require all of us now does it?"

"So you want everyone else to go up there and leave me down here?"

"Not exactly! But I would prefer you to not go up there! There is enough chaos around us down here where you wouldn't have to deal with the big purple dude!"

"Fine, I'll go fight the Surfer then - the real one!"

Neil Spellman

Location: Outside Stark Tower

Neil's breath caught in his throat, staring at the crater the Human Torch had made. Sure, they definitely had been in mortal peril up on Galactus' ship, yet they were on Earth now. Somehow, all of the destruction and danger just felt more real here. With the exception of fighting Mesmero at the waterfront, Neil hadn't gone on a mission in a city before. He hadn't seen the civilians running for their lives, the emergency sirens wailing and coloring the debris smoke red and blue, the heroes fighting valiantly and creating somehow just as much destruction as their enemies. It was all just too much, too real. He felt dizzy as he looked at the Nullifier in his hand, before nodding resolutely.

He didn't have time to freak out and have a panic attack over this. He needed to save the world.

Neil kicked off into the air, just in time to see the stubborn speedster keep Guin down. He rolled his eyes slightly. He didn't see why Guin put up with him, but people were weird when they were in love. As Neil kept on flying up a little higher, a piece of rubble from the top floor struck him, knocking him back down a good few stories. Even with the suit of armor on, that stung - his head was pounding. His grip on the nullifier was strong though - he really didn't want to risk dropping it and losing it. How fragile was it anyways? "Uh, guys? Anyone else coming?" Neil called down.

Bethany Bell

Location: New York City.
Skills: Shadow Manipulation

Bethany watched Carolina and Annie both heading out to get Mira her much needed medical help, and she hoped that she would be alright, she jumped slightly when she saw something crash just a few feet away from them. And saw The Human Torch coming out and approaching them, though she never did think that he was attractive she did think that he was pretty cool growing up. She looked towards Mary for a moment and nodded slightly. She never tried moving so many people all at once, but it was a first time for everything, when Guin and Pietro started to argue and rolled her eyes slightly it was a little bit more than annoying.

Neil had decided to go up already, as Bethany closed her eyes and started to control everyone's shadows before looking up at Iris and Neil. "We'll meet you guys at the top." As Bethany moved the others who were still all on the ground, and then a few seconds later they were on one of the top floors, she looked around for a moment and then looked over at Guin. "You know where to go from here so that Galactus can see?" Bethany asked her everything looked completely and totally trashed, and she wasn't sure how stable the floor actually was either.

Carolina Reed

Location: New York City
Skills: N/A

"I'm not sure if she's stable or not, her heart was still beating irregularly after we zapped her again from what our friend said, she had a heart attack or something like that." Carolina told the doctor and looked towards Annie for a moment, and then looked at all of the patients that were in the lobby of the hospital alone. There was a lot, and she knew that there would be a lot more as well, and she hated to leave Mira alone by herself and turned towards her best friend. "I'm going to see if there are any other people who need help, can you stay with Mira until she wakes up?" Carolina asked, and hoped that Mira waking up to a friendly face would be able to help.

Carolina quickly started to head out of the lobby and then flew off down the street, looking back at Stark Tower, she hoped that everyone would be okay and they would be able to stop Galactus. She came to a building with it's glass blasted out, she quickly landed down on the ground seeing all of the people stumbling out of the building itself. Moving the visor off of her face Carolina grabbed onto the arm of the nearest person. "Do you know if there is anyone else in there or if they need any kind of help?" Carolina quickly asked.

Allison Andrews and Sara Grey

Location: Outside Stark Tower
Skills: N/A

Once back on Earth now with the looming destruction of their planet on the horizon, they all were the last hope that Earth had for surviving this. But Guin had it right. They were a team. They had to face this threat down like any other that had before them. It was more daunting, sure. Impossible? Perhaps, but they had to try. They had to try for everyone on Earth, for those Aliens on Galactus' ship who lost their homes, and for themselves.

Sara was impressed with Neil's "take charge" attitude. "I like this new side of you, Neil. Kind of hot." she grinned, even if now was not the time. Allison shook her head as one couple seemed better off, but Pietro and Guin were going at it with each other. She sided with Guin, of course. She worried about Oshea, but she knew he could take care of himself and he knew she could handle herself too. Wanting to protect the other person and wish the best for them was one thing. Flat out preventing them because you think you know better was downright controlling. "Now is not the time for a lover's spat, guys. We're all going up and we're all taking him down and saving the planet. No biggie."

Sara nodded her agreement at this. They had bigger things to worry about. She had never understood Guin's relationship with the speedster, but this only solidified that Guin should do things on her own. But far be it from her to get involved in their relationship. "Ok, Bethany can get us up there then, but do we have a plan? We didn't do super great on the ship and now he is actually here on Earth."

Allison, meanwhile, got hit with a vision. Or rather, two visions. The first showed Galactus looming overhead with multiple Silver Surfers flying around, fighting against the Avengers. Three of them were on the roof, with The Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic fending them off. So they will have a fight once up there. We got a fight coming. I saw a lot of Surfers flying around and Galactus is definitely here. Be prepared to face all of them."

The second vision she didn't understand so much. It looked straight out of Jumanji. It seems eerily quiet before there is a loud crashing sound and a figure comes into view wrestling what appears to be a lion or something. With a slash of the sword, the lion drops to reveal a somewhat battered looking person in armor similar to Thor's. She recognized Klara. Another figure appeared, and she recognized her as the girl that Lance seemed to be dating in that reality also, Runa. "Runa, remind me when we get out of here to kill our uncle... And also we should run, since that lion is not going to stay down for long!"

She kept the second vision to herself for now. She'd share with the others, especially Lance, once they saved the world. Again.

Elizabeth Flame

Location: Earth -> Stark Tower, Upper Floor
Skills: N/A

Looking at Guin and Pietro argue, Elizabeth couldn't believe this was happening. The human torch has just crashed in front of them, and they were bickering about going up there. Wasn't the entire point of them being heroes was that they put themselves at risk? She was scared, sure, but she was at least ready to accept the danger incurred by her actions. Maybe it was different, being in a relationship the way they were changed priorities, but now wasn't the time. Didn't he realize that, if they didn't get this up there, Guin would die anyway? They had to deal with this, it was so much bigger than them.

As she was thinking this, Bethany moved her and the rest of them up into the tower. This was her first time experiencing shadow travel, and it was a trip. "Gosh that's fast, nice job." She said, steadying herself. Shifting her arm into a gun, she looked around at the group, ready for them to advance forward, if anything hostile might be waiting for them on the top of the tower. They were in the endgame now, and she was going to assume that anything that looked like it was going to fuck with them needed to be summarily dealt with. That meant she was fully in shoot first, ask questions later mode.

Marygold Isley and Lance Banner

Location: Outside of Stark Tower
Skills: N/A

"Really Guina? Don't even joke about that sort of thing!" Pietro said as they were all whisked up to the top of Stark Tower, and he shot Bethany a bit of a glare for bringing Guin along.

"Look, can you two stop fighting like an old married couple, we have a million other problems to deal with, and you two arguing is not helping anyone!" Mary snapped at both Guin and Pietro, before she looked over at Pietro. "You really need to lay off, alright? Just get over it."

"Whatever..."

"...So can we finally move on, we're at the top of Stark Tower, there should be a way to get up to the roof somewhere, but as has been pointed out there is no guarantee that any set of stairs we come across are stable."

"Pretty sure that is also the least of our worries. Since we have to deal with the mob of Surfers and Galactus, great... Wait a minute, there has to be a way to determine which one is the real one or not. Everyone has a weakness, we just have to find the Surfer's, and if we knock out the real one, odds are that we'd hopefully take all of them down. So that's something at least... Problem is we can't really plan for anything, we know that Galactus is powerful, and so is the Surfer, but maybe having a plan is what's holding us back. Expect the unexpected, don't really think and just try and think on your feet. If there are multiple Surfers up there, we are already going to have a hard time, and you can bet that they probably will be after the Nullifier."

"Which Neil is carrying and currently flying around outside," Lance pointed out, before glancing towards the window, really hoping that Neil and Iris would appear in the window and join them or something. Since that would be incredibly horrible if they ran into trouble. Since no one would be able to really help them at all.

"Yeah, that's not a good thing," Mary said, glancing out the window before there was what appeared to be a streak of silver shoot downwards towards that direction. "Okay... New plan. Get the Nullifier up to the top and help Neil and Iris, now!"

"I'm all for that one," Lance said, before he surrounded himself in light and took off soaring out one of the broken windows and took off straight down towards the pair.

Outside of Stark Tower
So, here's some bad news, as the two are flying up, they'll realize that everyone else suddenly disappeared from the ground level. Even more bad news? Neil has the Nullifier, and they are currently outside in the big wide open air. So of course, there is a streak of silver heading straight towards them, and it is one of the many Silver Surfer clones. Instantly shards shot out of his surfboard, heading straight towards them. However, it seemed that they'd have some luck, as the shards didn't really impale them or anything, just dinged up the suits a bit, and causing them to be a bit sore and lose some altitude. Another barrage of shards started coming, and right before one hit Neil in the head, he'd find himself surrounded by light and shifted slightly so that the shard missed him. If he looked up he'd see Lance flying towards them, and he had made it so that Neil didn't end up dead.

Hospital
"Alright, so cardiac arrest is clearly a risk, meaning we need to get her in a room and such now," the nurse said, before motioning with her hand to a few others nearby who instantly took Mira away to a different room. "Don't worry about your friend, we'll do everything we can to help her, follow me if you want to stay by her," the nurse said, before racing quickly out of the room.

Nearby Building
"Yeah, there are more then a few people left inside!" a man who more or less was limping out of the building, looking at Carolina when she grabbed his arm. "The building just started coming down from everything going on out here, the whole city has just gone to hell, and who knows if we'll be able to make it out of here again..."

Guin Stark

Location: Stark Tower - Top Floor
Skills: Telepathy, Deduction, Problem Solving
In the blink of an eye, she was near the top of Stark Tower. Bethany had shadow traveled them there in an instant and Guin couldn't help but be impressed, especially since to her knowledge, Bethany had just figured out how to teleport earlier that day when they were on Galactus' ship. Guin figured that Pietro was pissed, though. She loved him and understood that his mental illness was likely contributing to an extreme overprotective nature, but his behavior made her feel like she was being suffocated. It had been a huge source of unhappiness for her in the world Wanda had created. I'm fine, you're fine, it's all going to be okay, she reminded him gently.

"The roof - it's a bit of a safety hazard but it worked for Loki with the Chitauri, so I bet it'll work for us," she then answered Beth. Allison's comment - and Mary's - made her chafe a little bit. She got the sense that Allison was on her side with this, but it still just seemed awkward to her to have others butting in on their relationship. Guin much preferred hearing Allison talk about her vision. Sure, she wasn't thrilled to hear that there were multiple Silver Surfers running all over the place, but it also wasn't too surprising. With the sort of power given to him by Galactus, why stop at just one hardlight illusion?

You don't know that!

Trust me, okay? We're in this together. Just take a deep breath, Guin coaxed. She didn't use the mental link to calm him very often beyond words, yet he had done it for her before - so she took a slight breath and sent a calming wave on through, hoping it would help Pietro focus with the battle they were about to join in on.

Okay... If you say so Guina. he responded, calming down slightly. She kissed him on the cheek, before turning her attention to their plan. Mary's suggestion of finding the weakness on the Silver Surfer wasn't bad, but from what Guin could tell, he had no weaknesses. He was the definition of over powered, the sort of person you'd see at the movies and everyone in the audience would groan, wondering how their heroes could possibly topple him.

It then hit her.

"Unless we can get the Fantastic Four to beat him, we need to grab his board and keep it away from him!" she blurted out. "That's the only weakness he showed earlier was when Neil tried to take it!"

Neil Spellman

Location: Outside Stark Tower
Skills: N/A
Neil was blushing slightly still from Sara's compliment. He didn't want to be the leader right now, he didn't want to take charge - but he had the nullifier and no one had taken it from him yet. He wished that one of the older X-Men would have grabbed it instead, to relieve him of the responsibility. He felt like Atlas in Greek Mythology, cursed to hold up the sky - to prevent it from slamming into the ground and destroying the world. For a brief moment, he had to wonder if Atlas was just based off of Galactus. How many myths were actually just about aliens?

He was shocked out of his thoughts though as silver shards flew at him, hitting him dead on. He was knocked even further out of the sky from the impact, but he was alive. His brain was frazzled as he could hardly comprehend the Silver Surfer being there. As another volley was about to hit the stunned young mutant in the head, Neil was suddenly blinded by dazzling light as it engulfed him. He shut his eyes just in time as the light shifted his location and when he dared to open them, he saw Lance Banner, flying without a suit.

Nodding at Banner in thanks for the assist, Neil fired up the thrusters again, trying to get lift. Yet instead of shooting him up towards the top of the tower, his suit failed.

And sent him into a dizzying free fall.
