Acion Nakamiji

Acion thought that after him wouldn't be much of an interesting case study of heroic ideals, but he was half wrong. It's not like the second to last guy's ideals were anything extreme, but he just couldn't seem to put his thoughts together somehow. Or he was just angry. He literally slammed his hands on the table.

'Geez, what's up with that?'

Couldn't be because Ms Mako was implied by that girl Junko to be an ex-villain? Acion personally only heard very briefly about this lady, an it was just that: an ex-villain. Her exploits were way before he remembered anything about life. Perhaps his parent would know, because if anything they would likely be involved with her. He'd keep this as another heroism topic to pry on his parent, just like he always does every time they get to meet for an extended period of time.

The teacher seemed to have no problem with this though. She proceeded with her lesson by instructing everyone to rendezvous at the gym after getting dressed proper for their destination. Ten minutes to do so. It would be normal timing for some people, but for a person having 6 gigantic wings, changing into other clothes took a while. Acion was the last one leaving the changing room, and made it to the gym almost just before he was announced late.

Gathered on the nearer side of his vision were his classmates, while on the further sides were apparently the Support Class. So they'll be the one making all the goodies for him, his professional identity essentially. Well, it might not last up until he actually became a professional hero, considering they are students as well. That and also the fact that for this one, it didn't seem like he was going to be showing all he could do with his quirk. Problem with the environment around him was that there was a ceiling. It was quite high and Acion could do a couple of tricks from that height yes, but it was nowhere near the height he could achieve.

Acion watched as some of his classmates taking the initiative and show off their quirks. The first up was Nadeko, with her ability to juggle things by simply repeating the magnetic nature of those two magnets that were her two arms. To say it was impressive might be a little bit of a stretch, but it definitely was not an easy feat. She made use of her quirks creatively, and that was definitely something that Acion was not a stranger to. Silently, he clapped his two hands softly together in acknowledging the act.

The second was that guy who talked with the phone, Kousuke, who appeared to be shooting bubble gums from his hands. Quite intuitive to understand, but he knew his limits and capabilities as he pulled himself to the ceiling and back down. Well worth a nod of approval. The third student was Dulga, who initially Acion thought only had super strength, in which it was already significant enough, but turns out she had two more arms, with exactly the same power as her two. Jesus, two arms with that absurd power is already scary enough, and now we have that. She is someone worth paying attention to.

After Dulga, Acion realized now he was at the front of the class. Well, why not. It was gonna be his turn one way or another. While the previous three were doing their demonstration, Acion already chalked up what he could perform. He took a quick look in the box that Ms Mako gave as props just in case they need them. Perfect. A volleyball. Taking that out of the box and walking all the way to the other side of the gym, Acion let all six wings wide, each wing longer than his entire body. A quick glance up to check the height of the ceiling, he bent his knees before making a vertical leap. All six wings beat strongly, quickly and in sync with each other the moment he was in the air, keeping his perfectly vertical ascent smooth and quick, reaching the ceiling in no time. Once touching the ceiling, Acion descended a little and threw the volleyball in the direction of his classmates. At the same time, he stopped beating his wings, let himself to freefall to gain speed before pulling up at the very last second, using such momentum gained to swoop upward back to heights just in time to catch the ball after it barely passed the initial height that it was thrown.

'Whew, that went better than I expected it.'

All that mock test training paid off indeed.

He allowed another freefall, but this time he just slowed his fall as he was close to the ground and landed nicely on his two legs. Letting out a deep exhale to calm the adrenaline of the moment, Acion nicely put the volleyball back in its place before making his way back to his classmates.

"Well luckily enough for me I don't need anything to really show off that much. Granted its also kinda hard to see but..." Kouji says as he takes his place after the others finish it seems the others had some nifty quirks to call their own. Each one to show them so far he could think of some interesting applications for but to his own credit he wasn't even paying attention all to much. He wasn't even sure if these guys were people he could call friends quite yet. The support students gathering around just made him feel a bit weird. He wasn't expecting to have to see people look at him from an objective standpoint for their own work which made him feel strange. All the same Kouji outspread his hands and breathed in deeply to calm his nerves before focusing on the air around him sending it spiraling around his right hand he lifted up his house keys he had in his back pocket after using the hand he wasn't focusing on to toss them into the wind storm in his right hand. The keys jingled as they were propelled into the air hovering like one would expect to see of a piece of paper. However he quickly ended the quirk's powers and breathed out. "Aerokinesis. Universally useful but it gives me headaches if I do it too much so sorry but I don't feel like showing off big. Your up!" Kouji says backing off back into the group as he puts his keys back into his pocket.

Donny sat excitedly listening to everyone introduce themselves and what they thought about heroism. He's never actually really talked about it before, at least not in person. Sure he had some opinions online but those were lost to the tides of time, so maybe here he could actually have a chance to discuss what it means to be a hero with others with vastly different perspectives. After all your thoughts about what it means to be a hero will definitely color how you act as a hero. Donny has definitely read some articles about pro-heroes who have quite a controversial reputation for both subverting or playing certain heroic stereotypes straight. Whether it be the gritty ones who won't hesitate to break their opponents physically or mentally, or the ones who always try to save even the most heinous of villains. After all, heroes are supposed to be a symbol of justice that everyone likes, but you can't please everyone. It makes Donny self-conscious because he worries that even if he does what he knows is the right thing to do, if public opinion turned against him what good would any of his actions have been? He couldn't handle being the type of hero no one likes or appreciates.

As he was lost in these thoughts Mako told everyone to meet her at the gym. While everyone else went to change Donny simply put his things away, including his current school uniform, folding it neatly into his bag. Clothes are kind of meaningless for Donny so it was best just to make sure his uniform doesn't get dirty. Though he did leave the food he had stored inside of himself at his desk, which included the twelve pack (currently only nine cans) of cola, three bento boxes, a thermos, a loaf of bread in plastic wrap, four chocolate bars, a pack of gum, a small baggy full of dog treats, and an apple. With his lunch out of his mass Donny felt a little bit lighter as he arrived at the gym.

Everyone had to show off their quirks, though Donny wasn't really sure how he could do that. His specialty was tunneling and eating, and he wasn't really sure how he could do either of them here. He certainly didn't want to get into trouble for digging through the school floorboards. And he wasn't too sure if Mako or the other staff would want him eating anything that belongs to the school. Because outside of those two things, his quirk didn't really grant him much else. Sure he might be tougher than most but that has less to do with his quirk making him tough and more just because he lacks the usual flaws of the human body. And it's not like this one wasn't without its issues either. Donny wasn't exactly fast and his strength is, at best, better than your typical high schooler but far from superhuman. And considering how quirks can affect one's body even your "typical high schooler" could very well have some level of super strength, so it wasn't really a metric that Donny could measure himself with accurately.

As he watched the other students do their thing he continued to frantically look around for something he could use to show off his quirk. Something he was certain it was okay for him to eat or somewhere that's okay for him to dig around. The more he thought about it the more nervous he got until he realized that he's basically doing party tricks. His grandpa had him learn how to use his powers to entertain people before so he had an idea of what he could do to show off his powers without too much destruction. He just needed something he could eat.

When it was his turn Donny walked up to the boxes and looked around for probs. He picked up that metal cube Dulga had made, that’ll be handy, as well as a flashlight. He flicked it on and off to see if it was working. And finally there was a small teddy bear. ”Weird. But this this can work.” He picked that up too and went to present it to the students.

First he would show off his shape shifting. His black blobby form shifted into its own stage, with the teddy bear, metal cube, and flashlight on the stage. Then the bear stood up, waved at the crowd, and did a little dance. Donny had put one of his tendrils inside of the bear to allow him to puppeteer it from the inside. ”Thank you for this meal!” He had the bear go over to the metal cube and take a literal bite out from it, showing the actual part of the cube that had been bitten out. What Donny tried to hide was the bit of his own body coming out from the bear’s mouth that was doing the actual eating. He had his puppeteered toy finish eating the metal cube in two more bites before moving onto the flashlight. He had the bear open up the flash light, eating the light, wiring, and plastic. He took the battery and gnawed it in half allowing the battery acid to pour out into the bear’s mouth, where Donny consumed it without issue. ”Spicy!”

With those two things eaten Donny had the teddy bear bow before he ate it from the inside out, reforming back into his normal shape. This wasn’t the best way to show off his powers but hopefully it would give everyone an idea of what he could do. It would be more impressive if he could eat something bigger but this would have to do. He slithered back to his spot in line to watch everyone else use their powers.

Alice Nova

Except for a certain edgelord, all of the introductions went by rather smoothly. With everyone doing exactly as they were told by their teacher, including Alice of course, the quick introduction was over as fast as it had begun. It was always awkward being put on the spot in front of the whole class, especially since they weren't familiar with each other yet. The next exercise would continue this sentiment by making everyone show off their quirk in front of the other students and some other students who were invited to watch. At least this was what they were told once they had arrived at the gym hall. Honestly, 10 minutes was probably a little too short, especially considering that the students were not familiar at all with the school's layout. Luckily, most if not everyone appeared to have made it in time despite that.

Now that they were all collectively gathered in their gym clothes in a rather spacious gym hall, they would be able to show off their quirks with sufficient freedom... for most students anyway. Of course, there were still some limitations depending on one's quirk. This was both true for Alice and for other students, as she would soon come to see. Regardless, the apparently relatively large away of props that they were allowed to use would surely come in handy for many students. After all, this quirk show was to make an impression on everyone in the room, be it a teacher or student. Additionally, it would be a great way to demonstrate that one can weave their quirk confidently even when being watched by a large group of people. At least, this was Alice's interpretation of the reasons for the task.

The first student who would show off their inherent ability was the girl who had introduced herself as Nadeko. Quite frankly she had caught Alice's eyes earlier already due to the quite apparent difference about her body. "That's just awfully impractical... she thought to herself while observing the "performance" so to speak. While the malformed hands were quite obviously a handicap, the girl's control of the magnetism with her hands was quite impressive. Activating, deactivating, and regulating one's quirk's strengths in such quick succession was no easy feat but Nadeko almost made it look easy. Alice made sure to pay close attention to her and every other student's performance since it was quite important to be able to properly judge one's co-students in a hero course. Alice had done her research before joining the hero course and, group exercises appeared to be a common thing. While watching, however, Alice appeared more stoic than anything. Not cold, uninviting but also not enthused. She was merely focussing on the events unfolding in front of her very eyes, standing next to all the other students in her comfy gym outfit.

Next up was Kousuke. The mute who apparently only spoke via his phone, at least from what Alice had seen of him so far. Certainly, a unique individual right off the bat since this wasn't exactly the most common thing. It seemed to be a quirk of his, whether on purpose or not, albeit not his actual quirk. Regardless, he began producing some form of gum and used it as a makeshift rope which honestly appeared to be rather sticky. Alice's hypothesis about its inherent stickiness was proven correct as he was able to simply stick to the ceiling which almost appeared effortless, despite the daunting height. An impressive feat indeed! Sadly, however, Alice could not help but imagine the sticky gum being stuck in her feathers, making them icky and glued together... the thought caused her to get immediate goosebumps! And not the good kind either!

After Kousuke, it was Dulga. From Alice's first impression in the classroom, she seemed like a rather.... stoic person. Or well, mayhaps that was not the right word to describe her. Either way, she didn't exactly seem approachable as a person, to put it that way.
Her performance was a show of pure strength, of dominance, and of power. At least that is the vibe that was given to the comparatively petit owl. It was true that Alice's quirk provided her with somewhat enhanced physical abilities, allowing her to perform feats which other's with her age and/or body type would not be able to but compared to the towering strength of Dulga, one who was able to snap such a strong solid in half, it seemed nought but nothing. When she pulled out those additional pairs of hands, Alice could not help but think of certain figured of Hinduism, albeit the display of power was much rawer and less refined than what one would come to expect from that direction.
Regardless, the show of strength had impressed Alice. It might have been a bit bland but that is not a big deal when one simply wants to show off their inhuman strength. In that regards, Dulga was successful.

While this performance surely left an impression, it was the next performance which would burn itself into Alice's mind and actually give an openly emotional response in the owl. While his initial impression was nothing special, once Alice was able to get a good look at his six wings in all their glory, the owl's eyes began widening a bit. Mayhaps it was a sense of solidarity from one wing-type to another, although Acion seemed to be much more on the angelic side than bird-type like Alice. The sight of his wings certainly caused her to lean forward slightly and watch the performance in its full length. Alice was more than impressed by what she had been shown, a display of skill and efficiency in flying which was almost unprecedented in what she had seen. Since she was a flyer herself, Alice knew how much skill the maneuvers put on display by Acion took and could appreciate them even more.
Even when he was done, Alice couldn't help but follow Acion walk back to the lot of them with her eyes, eyeing him carefully. Whether it was a sense of rivalry from a skilled flyer or a sense of solidarity as described prior remained to be seen. Perhaps it was even a combination of both...

There was no time for her to dwell on the sentiment for too long, however, since the next performance would begin immediately. She wanted to focus on everyone equally so she could adequately make an impression of them. Therefore, Alice shifted her body back to her normal, formal position and began watching as Kouji began. In contrast to the other performances, this one may have been a bit lackluster but aerokinesis surely was a powerful skill. Once honed and trained further it would surely be of great use! For now, though, this quirk showing would be put into the back of Alice's head compared to the other ones anyway.

The last one to act before Alice decided to step up was also the weirdest showcase so far considering how "out there" the quirk actually was. Frankly, it was difficult for Alice to decide what to make of the performance. Thanks to Alice's enhanced eyesight she was able to catch every little detail of the performance, even from so far away. "His body is doing the eating but it almost seems to take no damage whatsoever to it. Additionally, it is so flexible... one wonders where the limits are. Almost monstrous in nature..." and with those thoughts, Alice concluded her assessment of his quirk-showcase. While Donny left an impression, Alice would need to see a lot more to get a good understanding of the "in's and out's" of his quirk.

Finally, Alice had enough of waiting around. Whether it was the spark of seeing another wing-user perform, or simply her growing restlessness of watching performances which ignited her motivation to show off what she was capable of did not matter at this point since the owl simply decisively stepped up after Donny in front of her class, teacher and the support class.

Alice walked towards the center of the gym, turned around to face the class, and then slowly took off her glasses with an almost inaudible sigh. After putting the glasses down on the floor in front of her, she extended her arms to her left and right before transforming them into what would become her owl's wings. They were large, beautiful wings with brown feathers bearing different shades of brown in a rather pleasant looking pattern. The total length would be essentially her body height, meaning they would drag over the floor should she just let her wings rest and hang down in a straight line. While she no longer had arms, Alice quickly used her wings with their original purpose in mind: To fly. With a few wide flaps, Alice ascended and began flying circles around the gym. Now, of course, this was nothing too impressive and wouldn't make her stand out in front of anyone. Therefore, she had to think of something. Sadly the space of the gym severely limited what she was capable of. Showing off her enhanced eyesight and hearing was practically impossible without prior preparing and a full owl-transformation would not be possible here since it would instantly drop all of her clothes and... a back-transformation would be difficult without them.

"...This should work." Alice thought to herself as she began to fly towards one end of the gym. Upon reaching it, she turned around to face the open hall. The winged girl inhaled sharply before with one quick and powerful flap of her wings began dashing forward, adjusting her body position to be aerodynamically adjusted to allow for the maximum speed possible and dashed towards the other end of the gym. She would reach it rather soon as she flew past her peers with impressive speed. However, while her speed was quite fast, the most impressive part was the wind which was produced by it, or rather, the lack thereof. Yes indeed, typical to what is known for owls, Alice was able to do her flight maneuver in practically complete silence and without producing any wind. Due to the special shape of her feathers and her refined ability, she was able to fly without making any noise at all or causing any wind or airflow. One could say Alice flew in complete Silence.

Once she had done her feat, Alice descended from the skies (or as far high as the gym would allow anyways), re-transform her wings back into the much more practical, opposable-thumb-containing, hands with which she picked up her glasses, put them back on with grace, adjusted them on her nose and walked back to her peers.
Admittedly, this performance wouldn't paint a picture of an owlgirl as much as just a girl with wings. However, the girl hoped she was able to impress some amongst the audience, most importantly their teacher and a certain someone, at whom she would glance for just a short moment after having returned to the group of students.

NOEL

Ten minutes was hardly anytime at all, and the sudden requirement made the reindeer immediately lose a bit of her luster, and she was quickly losing it from her half assed answer before. She was quick to realize her gym bag was in the locker. "I'll be right back!" and back out the door she was again.

She managed to arrive in her gym clothes, her winter ones, she was covered practically from her neck to the middle of her fingers as she seemed to be wearing multiple layers. No wonder she needed the time, she had more clothes on. She was already panting as the class lined up for the quirk demonstration.

Her antlers were 'SOS'ing in red, green, blue, and purple as she stood there. Her legs was shaking as she realized this was going to be the most difficult part of today. She knew her quirk was trash. There was no way it was practical or useful to even be be considered. She looked at the others, half of them already with cool mutations. Then she looked to the far side. The support class... maybe she belonged with them. Her and her rotten luck.

First was Nadeko, and her... wow weird arms, but it was immediately evident she had magnetism powers. Carol knew xman. Magnetto was top tier, so that was going to be useful.

Then Kou came up. Gum powers, somehow that made sense. Great for mobility, reach, sub dual, you name it. She gave him a 'thumbs up' after his display after a little clap.

Tarata was up with her cloak and "HOLY GRAMCRACKERSH!" she said when the weights went flying. Yep, definitely a bad ass.

Nakamiji was next, and *shocking* he flew. However, his jump, his dive, his twist and turns. Ba Dump, he was so, graceful out there. Carol's antlers and cheeks went a little red just watching him.

Kouji went next and showed off some wind power. So an actual air bender from that old cartoon show. So awesome! She wondered if he could do the same thing and the keys were just a demo.

Yang was probably the most interesting, and Carol expected him to just tear things apart with his blobby limbs. But then, a teddy bear, a cube, a flashlight. It was weird, cute, disturbing, and honestly at one point Carol's lights lit yellow as she tried to stiffle a laugh, holding a hand over her mouth and her stomach. The showmanship was appreciate. She clapped her hands at the end of the show. "Bravo!"

Nova did her thing and just as amazingly, she could let her wings grow and she was also a capable and accomplished flyer. Speeding through the gym, but Carol noticed the lack of wind this time unlike Acion. They only noticed because of the other aerokinetic and her mind was taking mental notes. She would have shown her amazement and support until she realized....

Carol was next.

The whole time she was watching the others, she forgot about her own demonstration, and immediately, PURPLE lights flashed in alarm from her antlers. Her whole body shoke all over before she stood up straight and nodded, rather stiffly stepping ahead of the class. She prepared this procedure. She put alot of work into it. She had to do... something to make her quirk appear more useful and special than it actually was. She turned and faced them, a dozen much more talented people with cool awesome powers. And what did she have?

"I'm uhh, going to- shhow you my quirk... but I-" she needed something. A prop. Something that lights up. She recalled where Donny got the flashlight. "Pleashe jusht, wait right there." She held out a hand and then went over to the boxes that were nearby. She was muttering to himself as she dug around. "C'mon, give me shomething. Ahah!"

She returns with a lamp. Somehow there was a lamp, night shade and everything, a rather old one. Carol has a big smile, and red cheeks as she presents it, putting it infront of her. She then takes a deep breath, closes her eyes, and slaps her hands together. Her antlers seem to all light up yellow at once, and much brighter then usual. Her nose joins in, shining a bright festive red. For those that could feel it, there was a certain... electricity around her, like static, enough to make the hairs on your skin rise if you are close enough. Her antlers then begin blinking in a rather cheery rythmn of whites and yellows as Carol suddenly runs a few steps to her left before planting her feet and then doing a cartwheel back in the other direction, her form obviously practiced. Midway into the wheel, three lights, a yellow one, a green one, and a blue one suddenly seem to appear in a small burst of light with the occasional like jolt of electricity between her antlers. They stayed floating in midair until she got back onto her feet, then she reached out her hands, grabbing all of them out of the air, balling them together before she flung the lights at the lamp like she was throwing a snow ball at it. Another flash of light and lances of lightening swirl around the appliance.

And then... nothing happens.

She stays in that position, like shes about to fight the lamp. A few seconds pass, before Carol realizes whats wrong. She yelps and she kneels down, actually turning the lamp on via its switch. And sure enough, the lamp turns on, without being plugged in. Carol then gives a big smile back to the class like it wasn't the lamest thing ever, and a second or two later, the lamp dims and goes out, along with Carol's antler lights as she turns off her quirk.

She then clears the lamp away without saying a word, gets back to her spot in line, and then just drops her head down, her antlers casting a dim blue... completely ashamed and embarrassed and tries not to think about how she's going to be kicked out of the program.

Saki

When Saki was about to get her brush from her bag Alice was cut short by the start of the lesson not being able to explain that it wasn't bed hair. Saki kindly smiled towards Alice and turned back towards her own desk. It was still to be believed that it was bed-hair.

Alice was after Saki in the class introduction. It appeared she was very calm and proper with her introduction not missing a single beat. Saki was glad that it went well for her as well, hopefully she got every point out that she wanted to give about heroism. Next up was the cute angel winged boy Acion, she was definitly gonna remember that name. He even had a good vision about heroism, Saki her tail playfully danced around as she grinned at him. Even if he didn't notice her it would be nice to get close to him and talk a bit.

The cute clutzy girl was next up, it clearly appeared that she wasn't ready for her introduction yet. She was stammering and looking for words but her preparations before hand made the difference and guided her through. Saki was glad the girl got back up and introduced herself as Carol the antler light girl. Apparently from another country as well. Must be cold there during winters, it would probably be quite harsh for her here with the heat. Carol made cute points as Saki patiently looked at her and gave her a warm smile while nodding. Next up was- Saki her tail shot up as her glance went over the finger of Mako to the boy standing up with his hands on the table. His name was Sendachi Kouki, Saki kind of shriveled towards the window as she looked at the boy. He didn't seem all too happy to be here. He probably just didn't have his day, Saki tried not to think about it too much and managed to give him a smile as well.

Finally was Nadeko the magnet arm girl, her focus was mostly on symbolism like the top tier heroes who showed power and heroism. It was a nice reason and showed that she was really prepared to do the extra. Mako took the word after finishing up the last of the introductions. Next they were gonna go to the gym, they had to get into their gym clothes. Kind of exciting since she hasn't worn those for a lesson here before. Saki happily stepped up from her seat and grabbed her bag along-sides the table before heading to the gym changing rooms.

Once inside of the gym she was met with a dozen of eyes pointed all at her. It was clear the other classes students were talking about them. Saki softly waved both her tail and hand at the other class somewhat awkwardly. It was kind of weird for them to just be there, Saki made sure not to do anything out of the ordinary. Saki faced her own class now and patiently waited with her hands behind her back. She was wearing shorts and a shirt in the school colors with her shirt neatly tucked into her shorts. The power cord was neatly sticking out between her shirt and shorts. As for socks, they had cute panda smileys on them, of course >>.

Teacher Mako told them the other class was gonna design costumes for them, hopefully it would be somewhat panda themed. Furthermore they were to show off what their quirks could do. Saki could do that, there was a lot of versatile things she could do with her quirk so it was somewhat difficult to determine what to do, she still had some time for her display.

Nadeko, last in introductions, first in quirk display. With her finger-less metal arms she pulled some metal towards her from Mako and tossed it around with her magnet arms and up into the air. Saki gave a happy small applause as Nadeko finished up her presentation. The mute boy his power was that of some sort of sticky string that could pull his weight. He had good control over his quirk and it seemed he was quite agile. Saki oogled at him with her mouth agape as he was on the ceiling and gave him a short cheer as he landed~

"That looks cool to do Kousuke~ I suppose you can do even more with that string~"

Dulga was already walking towards Mako and the boxes picking something that would help her display her quirk. It was a heavy weight she pulled from the box which made Saki's eyes already widen at the ease of picking it up. Easily it was snapped in half, Saki jumped up and held her tail in her hands out of fear. The half weights were pressed flat with two other pairs and thrown into the air one by one hitting each other. Saki stood there, goosebumps in her neck as lose strands of hair were standing up into different directions, mouth agape while her eye twitched. That was too much, Saki could use big strength as well but still had a long way to go for this level of strength. Despites the amazing performance Dulga did seem a bit down on herself. Saki still sounded her intrest in this girl.

"Amazing! I've never seen anyone so strong before~ Must be a lot of power in every single muscle of yours~ Do you train your fingers as well?~ That metal snap was powerful!~"

Saki cheerfully bounced her body and gave a small relaxed smile towards Dulga as she spoke. The angel boy was going next, this was getting intresting! Saki will love to see this. With the power of his six wings he produced a lot of wind at his start up blowing Saki her hair back with a lot of force. He shot through the gym flying bright and wide doing multiple rendezvous as he threw and caught the ball mid air. When Acion landed Saki clapped for him and gave him a soft smile.

"Must be great being able to fly~ It looks like a lot of fun~"

Kouji was next at the quirk demonstration. He made a small tornado and propelled his own house keys up into the air. It was pretty nice to see, she wondered how high these tornadoes could get from him. It was quick and neatly displayed. Saki gave him a small applause as he walked into the group again. Donny, the blob boy. He was gonna put up some sort of show it looked like. He made his own stage with his own props and setting. It was unlike the other students a performance that showed off each of his abilities. Very nice way to sum it up and original. The cute teddy bear that ate and danced probably made it even better. Made Saki wonder if he put a lot of time into thinking about the idea.

"That was great!~ Really enjoyed your show Donny~"

Her front desk neighbor had to go right now, one of the most anticipated shows for now. The girl did not show much of herself yet so she was rather curious. Once the sleeves rolled up and the arms transformed Saki was already getting excited, her wings looked beautiful. From what she could guess she had a transformation quirk with the aspect of an owl. So quiet when flying and those hairs, it all clicked. Hear form was beautiful in the air, Saki liked owls so.

"Loved your showcase Alice~ Your quirk seems really nice, it looks very pretty as well!~ Your wings I mean~"

As last for now was the cute antler girl, Carol went on with stammering just like before. Saki giggled a bit and patiently waited for the girl to finish her setup. It didn't matter if it took some time, they had plenty. Once she finished thinking it through and setting it up she displayed her quirk to them. Much like Saki her quirk she worked with electricity. It was a light show of colored lights, suddenly the athletic side of her rose up and took over doing a sudden cartwheel while still giving the light show. Saki was expecting something to happen apart from the many lights but nothing did. It was only once Carol actually turned on the lamp that it was clear her quirk was powering things. Saki studied it well since she could perhaps team up or know more about her at least. It would be a huge help to know her quirk.

"Your lights are really pretty, the demonstration went almost perfectly~ Don't worry~"

Saki was gonna go up next. It was not clear to her yet what she was gonna do, it was pure improvising at this point. The panda themed girl stepped forward in front of the class and put a finger to her chin as she pondered what to do. It had to be clear her quirk was about powering herself and to show it was from electricity as well. Saki shortly glanced through the boxes, there was nothing of the sorts like batteries that could power her. It would be hard to show. She got a puzzle book,

"Hi class~ I'm gonna show my quirk now called robot, hope you enjoy~"

Saki her eyes briefly glowed a soft green indicating her agility was now at 200% procent. Saki sped up and sprinted over to a bench along sides the wall. She faced the class again with a cheerful smile as her eyes glowed
a soft red. Strength, she lifted up a bench along-sides the wall with one hand rather easily. Softly setting it down she launched herself from the ground with her green again on the same place she started and grabbed the puzzle-book. Her eyes glowed blue as she wrote down the answers rather easily of a sudoku. It wasn't so spectacular but it made the point. She displayed the book with the answers and tilted her head to the side as she smiled. She made a courteous bow and stepped back into the group waiting for the last few.

Relatively enough, the rest of the introductions progressed smoothly. Junko was paying some attention to the class but really, her interest was only directed to the ones who…well, looked interesting. That included the girl with antlers on her head and the last girl with magnets for hands. She almost expected the session to end frostily with Kouki’s words but funnily enough, that didn’t happen. All the same, their teacher seemed all too enthused with how events happened. And then it was time for a physical test. That made Junko pause.

A physical test? On the first day of class? Granted, she figured it was probably to show off their Quirks to their fellow students and teacher of course, but still, the thought of actively moving around so early in the morning didn’t sit well with Junko. She made a visible grimace, which given her already haphazard drowsy-looking state, it looked almost horrific to bear. That, and there was of course, the concern of how she was going to get her Quirk activated…maybe they wouldn’t be testing their Quirks after all? Maybe, maybe.

Her worst fears-the irony was not lost on her-were realized when the lot of them trudged into the school gym, changed and with a full other class watching from the sidelines. “We have an audience too!?” she squeaked, more to herself than anyone else. Hearing Mako’s instructions just confirmed what she didn’t want to hear. What followed next felt like a blur in constant motion to Junko. She watched as her classmates began to show off their Quirks one by one without much external help.

Some of them crushed weights like tin toys. Some of them bounced about with what she thought was chewing gum. Some of them flat out flew around in the air. However, most of that time was Junko simply keeping to herself, a nervous panic drawing over her mind as she wondered just what the hell she was supposed to conjure up in this situation. She was pretty sure the fear accumulated from before class was gone now, fizzled up; indeed, almost an entire class period of time came and went. Maybe she could ask the teacher to turn off the lights and talk in a spooky voice?

No. No, that was stupid and kind of embarrassing. She was supposed to do this on her own, wasn’t she? Before she knew it, Saki was wrapping up her show, speeding around the gym and solving…sudoku? That was impressive enough just for the sheer patience it took a normal person to do-wait, was she up? She still didn’t know what she was supposed to do. How ironic then, as she gulped and walked over to the two boxes, vaguely aware everyone was watching her now. Her hands fumbled, digging around in the display of props until…. “Huh?”

This…had to be a joke right? Someone just left this in the box? Or maybe someone knew how her Quirk worked? Then again, she’d seen everyone else find all sorts of strange little items in the boxes to help them so that wasn’t too far off the mark. Junko’s expression dipped into a crinkled smirk, hiding the small object close to her chest. She took a few steps forward, towards the Support class observing them. Spying the closest student, she shuffled forward as if drunken, face creaking into a more twisted grin, eyes hidden under her hair.

Yes…she could feel it now. It was a boy, she could tell, feeling nervous as she approached. Nervousness became anxiety, and anxiety became a burst of fear as she lunged forward with the plastic knife she kept undiscovered. But it was just a burst that she needed, a surge of adrenaline and fear that would do well. She suddenly launched herself back before digging the “knife” into the spooked boy, body moving on its own as if she was possessed. Much like the others with similar physical Quirks, she moved about almost inhumanly, fast like a blur, and leaving the ground slightly cracked wherever she stepped.

Then, in a sudden leap that carried her high, almost reaching the point of flying, she launched herself at the nearest wall. “Eeheheh….!” With a plunge of her arm, she slammed the plastic knife into the very top, the wall shaking as the toy was smashed right in, causing small fractures. The toy was shattered instantly and the dent in the wall was left creaking as Junko landed back to the ground, giggling to herself and causing more dents where she fell. Then reality ensued.

“….wait, uh, do I have to pay for that? S-Sorry, I didn’t mean to cause school damage!” she spoke with a wave of her frantic arms.

The teacher had yellow eyes. Really going all in on the whole inhuman deal, wasn’t she? Kouki wondered if they glowed in the dark, but put those thoughts aside in preparation for more troublesome activities. A demonstration of one’s quirks? It made sense, hero class and all, but still, he didn’t see it coming. Problematic, for sure. He clenched his glutes, shook his head.

Whatever, he’ll have to change first. Ten minutes would be enough to shrug off his uniform and exchange it for a shirt and shorts, after all. After that, it would be…

Oh hell, they had an audience. What’s more, it was an audience filled with his middle school acquaintances. Kouki wasn’t certain how many of his Hero class classmates were Matsubara natives, but amongst the notebook-wielding group, he could definitely pick out a couple who he had the…pleasure of being acquainted with before. A grimace reflexively emerged. He’d gotten a haircut since middle school, but there was still a pretty good chance that he’d be recognized, huh? Whatever. It was just quirks. Everyone had quirks, even if he managed to go through school without talking about his. Didn’t even need to show off for this demonstration. Not like they were going to be scored on their performance, after all.

So he found himself a nice, cozy corner of the gym, and watched the rest of his classmates get on with it. Magnet hands looked interesting, more emitter than mutant. Bubblegum looked like a mess, but fit the whole ‘Rescue Hero’ theme that Matsubara Hero Academy had transitioned into. Four arms was…four strong arms. Not much to say there, other than reminding him of a Pokemon. Wings looked big, but Kouki spent more time wondering if wingman was a model. There was something about him he couldn’t quite put a finger on, and it bugged him enough to click his tongue. Air man was underwhelming, but understandable considering the reasons UA rejected him. Slime man was something else.

A whole lotta something else.

If others had applauded the slime boy, Kouki may have joined them. Probably not though.

More wings. Smaller wings and less wings, but at least she flew well? He couldn’t tell. Reindeer gave him secondhand embarrassment. He looked away, eyes closed, but what he heard told him that she managed to redeem herself before things got too awkward. Saki did well. It still confused Kouki how her intelligence boost worked, but, as with most mutant quirks, he simply stopped thinking about it.

The last girl, though, was…concerning.

Scary, more like. Big mental issues, even. Or maybe it was all just her quirk? Some sort of personality switching thing? Jekyll and Hyde? Made more sense why she was interested in getting lessons from villains. A weirdo, regardless. Though that was sorta obvious from the get-go, considering her getup.

While the support class was still recovering from the shock of that whole incident, Kouki pushed off from his cozy corner, relaxing his body just enough so that one liter’s worth of Quicksilver could slide out of his body, up his back, over his right shoulder, and then out of the sleeve of his shirt. Seven slender tendrils stretched out, a dull silver that slipped around the others to sweep the floor. As pieces of the plastic knife fell back down, Kouki’s Quicksilver picked it back up, methodically gathering up the individual bits into a tidy bundle. The task was completed after a bit, and the silver tendrils reversed course, bringing the garbage in front of the bipolar supergirl.

Three seconds elapsed.

The tendrils dropped the plastic bits, indifferent as to whether it fell on the floor again or not, and retracted into Kouki’s sleeve, then down his back, and finally into his tailbone hole once more.

Yukari Yozakura

Listening to everyone else speak, Yukari felt really excited to get to know them better. Even the ones who were more reclusive were probably just nervous, or maybe they had some dark past that could be worth exploring. She also made sure to listen carefully and try to get familiar with their voices so she can identify them later. She'll have to try and listen to them more just to get used to it though. After all the introductions Ms. Mako wanted everyone to meet her in the gym after changing. Yukari knew they were going to show off their abilities and she had prepared for that today: she kept her leotard underneath her uniform! All Yukari had to do was go into the changing rooms to take off her uniform and store it in her bag before meeting with Mako at the gym.

Yukari could already tell there were a lot more people in the gym than just the class. Then she confirmed that it was the school's own support class, and that made Yukari a bit nervous. Not because she doesn't trust them, if anything it was a breath of fresh air compared to how improvised things were for her back at the circus. But now Yukari felt a bit disarmed because she didn't realize she might need to consider equipment when it comes to showing off her quirk. She thought maybe Mako would have them do a series of tests utilizing their quirks but instead they just had to do a demonstration. Still, this was nothing new to Yukari. Sure there wasn't any set up but she has worked with less and Ms. Mako at least brought out a few boxes of props for them to use.

So as the other students did their thing, Yukari limbered up. She wished she could've seen what they were doing but all she could do was take a guess base off what she hears and how the others reacted. No one was really explaining their quirks, which made it really hard for Yukari to know what they were doing. But she wasn't going to be that person who makes someone else explain what they just saw. Even if she doesn't watch anime she knows how annoying it is to have someone parrot what everyone else just did. When it was her turn Yukari walked up to the boxes, digging her hand through for anything she felt would be familiar or useful.

She found an empty bottle, a few rings, and a baton, which were perfect for what Yukari had in mind. Taking these items she walked towards the others, smiling as she raised the rings and baton in the air all in one hand. First what she did was juggle the objects a bit to get some momentum going. Once she was able to clearly identify the order of the items she was juggling, she tossed the empty bottle high into the air, followed by the three rings, and finally the baton. Notably each time she tossed it up, her wrist would suddenly slack and stretch before snapping upwards like a sling.

While all five objects were throw in the air, each going a different direction, Yukari twisted and tighten her body around like a spring and causing her body visibly flex as she propels herself upward. Her body would quickly thin itself almost like a javelin, shooting past the baton before grabbing it with one hand, stretching her other arm out to grab the rings, and going directly into the mouth of the bottle. Nearly her entire body would be stuffed inside of the bottle with no harm to Yukari as the force of her body going in caused the bottle to rapidly spin as it fell back to the ground.

The bottom would land upright on it's base, which signal Yukari to leap out and pose with her arms spread out. With the baton in one hand and rings in the other she bowed towards the crowd before picking up her props and returning them to Mako's box. "I hope my demonstration gives you an idea of what my quirk can do. Thank you!"

Once everyone was done, Mako nodded to the teacher of the other class, and the Support students filed out, back to their own classroom. Once they were gone, she cleared her throat.

"The purpose of that wasn't just to show me what you can do, but how you used your quirks also told me things about you. First up, Maeda-san. Actually, this applies to Yang-san too. You two didn't demonstrate you quirks with a show of force or power but instead with a show. You entertained us. This shows that you both want your quirks to be seen by others, and for the crowds to be put at ease by you rather than impressed or scared. I think it would be fair to assume you think a Hero's relationship with the public is more important than their reputation for beating up strong bad guys. That's a perfectly valid view to have and a good philosophy to shape your journey's beginning around.

Horiyama-san. I assume that snacking is in some way tied to your quirk's recovery, in which case I will overlook it. Hoever, that is a glaring weakness in your quirk that we've already exposed. With training, I'm sure we can curb your need for immediate sugar after using your quirk so little.

Tarata-san. Quite impressive. Brute force alone would be formidable enough, but you're also quite skilled. In fact, I wonder if you've already had some degree of training. I wonder what nature of training it was..."
Mako opened her eyes and stared into Dulga's. Her foxlike eyes were drilling into Dulga's being, or at least attempting to. After a second or two, Mako closed her eyes again, smiled and moved on.

"Nakamiji-San. You're quite fast, and precise, with a lot of control. You've also clearly been practising your flying for a long time but with your family I'm hardly surprised.

Majima-san. You need to have much more faith in your quirk, and push it to its absolute limit, if you're ever going to improve. You can't be afraid of using your quirk your whole life. Luckily, that's what this class is here for.

Nova-san. Impressive. You didn't make any noise. I see potential in you. Sorry that it's not the most optimal place for you to showcase what you can do. Outdoor exercises are what we're doing tomorrow, actually, you'll be pleased to hear.

Tennebalm-san. Your biggest obstacle seems to be your self-confidence. But, part of a Hero's duty is to perform whilst being looked at by crowds of citizens, and possibly even news cameras. We need to work on your stage fright. You are good enough to be here. You need to show us that.

Saki-san, very good, practical, display of some of the different things you can do. Of course I'll need to see you in action more to see what you can do well and what weaknesses you may have.

Kurowai-san. We can discuss your performance after school, in my classroom. Detention.

Sendachi-san. Thank you for picking those up.

And finally Yozakura-san. Very nice, very creative. Liked how you use your quirk. You're someone to keep an eye on."

After this, the class would go back to get changed. The following classes were not hero-related, and not every student had the same classes at the same time. However before you knew it, it was lunchtime, and you could either get food from the cafeteria, the hallway vending machines, or eat a packed lunch.

Dulga Tarata

Dulga had no notifiable reaction to Mako's prodding beyond meeting her stare for a few seconds. She figured Mako would already know a bit about Dulga's history, and if not, than there's nothing worth saying about it. Dulga knew why she was here and and Mako was simply the teacher to help Dulga on her path, nothing more nothing less. After she finished commenting on everyone's performances it everyone went back to change into their uniforms and went to regular classes. Dulga never considered herself a very good student but she at least tried to pay attention, write notes, and maybe learn something. At least enough to pass the tests. Dulga saw a few of the other students from the hero class as well as new students who seemed more normal. As usual, Dulga made sure to sit out of the way, carrying her black case and her school bag everywhere she went.

When it was time for lunch Dulga skipped out on the cafeteria food. She didn't really want to be somewhere too crowded. Instead she brought a few sandwiches from the vending machines as well as a bottle of water. She goes around the school for a bit until she found a spot where the only thing she could hear was the sound of cicada and the wind. As Dulga sat down she used one hand to open the sandwich wrappers, another hand browsing the news on her phone, and another to open her bottle. She took her mask off and ate quietly as she searched the news for any important information but it was the same as this morning. Finishing her lunch quickly she tossed her empty bottle into the air. She picked up a few handfuls of pebbles in her extra hands and began to flick them towards the bottles, most of them hitting. Each pebble that struck the bottle caused it to go higher up as well as tearing right through the plastic before eventually the shredded remains were all that were left. Picking up her trash Dulga just sat there and listened to music on her phone.

"Yeah true enough Teach I do gotta get better. Just wanted to say though I was just holding back from being too flashy. No need to hurt myself over looking super cool with just the wind. Its not exactly lightning and the girls here would get pissed I ruined their hair. I already get a big enough headache from using my power." Kou laughs when he was called out. All the same he was here for that exact reason. He needed to find ways to not get a constant head pain every time he tried to use his wind powers. It was a constant pain in the butt to have to down Advil, and or caffeine every time he used his aerokinetic abilities. Kou proceeded to listen intently through the other classes he didn't exactly find them really all that cool.

Kou found himself in the cafeteria after the classes were done. Figuring he'd spend way to much money on buying snacks as opposed to the school food Kou just took whatever standard meal the school would dish out for lunch. I mean a full stomach was better than an empty one and while school food tended to taste pretty meh at best it was still food. Kou sat down at a semi-crowded table and quickly ate at his food. He knew his mom would get on his case about chewing too quick, and stuff but he just wanted to get some food in his belly. Time not eating was time he could spend enjoying himself. It was a good day to be a kid. It may not be UA but that just meant less expectations.

Junko had a feeling she was one of the last ones to go but that didn’t properly manifest until the final two students performed their demonstration. First was Kouki, who’s silvery tendrils worked about as much as tendrils could, at least as far as Junko knew. Grasping the falling pieces of the knife in front of her was a reminder she was still standing around awkwardly. She kept an embarrassed giggle to herself and swiftly made her way back to the other students, head slightly down but crooked grin still present as the tendrils withdrew. Last was Yukari, whose Quirk involved…body manipulation? It certainly seemed so. Junko watched with amazement as the other girl’s body contorted like a cartoon, fitting inside a bottle too small for her.

Then came the hour of reckoning though for Junko, the hard part was over. She sighed in relief once the Support class was dismissed, each one of them filed and ranked to march out almost like tin soldiers. Somehow, she didn’t expect much else from the Support class. Regardless, the real announcement came from their teacher. So, this was a personality test? Figures, since a Quirk was only as heroic or as vile as its owner. As each student was passed over and given an assessment one by one, Junko was surprised to hear Ms. Mako not even acknowledge her.

She was only given a brief passing of later discussion that was to be held in detention…..and yet. That wasn’t so bad. In hindsight, that wasn’t so bad at all. “Ehehe….” Junko figured she’d be scolded for such a rowdy display but was that so bad? After all, Ms. Mako was the only reason she seriously considered this school in the first place. And a one on one session with her? On the first day? It was almost enough to make the dark-haired girl giddy with excitement; never mind the fact it was detention. Oh, she wondered, wondered yes, what they would discuss about her Quirk. In private, of course. Alone with the teacher. With no one to see…

But alas, that would be after school. Right. There was plenty of time to be had and plenty of ways to consider how to impress her teacher. In the end, Junko passed through the rest of the day with little to do much. When lunchtime rang around, she wandered the school looking for a nice play to sit down and eat. “Crowds are too noisy. Gotta keep up my image,” she told herself, walking the campus until she saw one of her classmates. “Oh, the scary girl with the mask. We’d look good together, a bunch of scary folk, ehehe….”

It wasn’t long then before Junko approached Dulga, only realizing too late the other girl was listening to her phone. Well now this was awkward. She briefly considered turning the other way, not wanting to disrupt her music, but she was already standing around like an idiot; just like in the gym. So instead she settled in waving her arms, hoping to get Dulga’s attention and maybe even sit with her. “Er, is this seat taken? Sorry if I’m intruding. I don’t like eating with big groups….”

Yukari Yozakura

After Yukari put her props away and stood in line with the others, Mako gave a quick rundown of her thoughts on everyone's performances. It really made Yukari wish she saw what they did, but what Yukari did seemed to be able to impress the teacher at least. "Eh heh. Thank you Mako-Sensei!" Yukari felt much better now that she's gotten to show off her quirk and receive some praise. She honestly missed the awe and compliments she used to get, but now she was confident that she could easily do the same here at school, and this time she'll be doing it for herself instead of some mean taskmaster. After everyone changed back into their school uniforms they had to go to regular classes which Yukari had some struggles with. While the school would know that she's blind, its not like every teacher was able to perfectly accommodate her condition. Fortunately she was at least given a digital recorder so she could record the lectures while Yukari herself did her best to listen and remember things what was being said. Most of the time though, Yukari was trying to learn braille. And Japanese Braille was one heck of a thing to master, let alone learn.

Eventually though, classes would come to an end and lunch would begin. Packing up her things Yukari skipped off to the cafeteria and took in all the scents and sounds. So many people here chatting and having good food. Waiting in line, Yukari grabbed some milk, a pudding snack, a seaweed salad as her side, and for the main dish, Oden. Once she received her food Yukari managed to find an empty table based off the lack of noise and relatively fresh scent of cleaning fluid, giving her the impression that someone cleaned the table recently which logically meant no one was eating at it right now. Once she sat down Yukari dug into her food. "After I finish eating, I should try and limber up some more. Maybe I'll go outside or see if there's anywhere else around school I could do some training."

Dulga Tarata

With her eyes closed, cloak wrapped around her body, mask over her face, Dulga was just napping at her spot when she heard someone approaching. She turned her music off as the person arrived and spoke to Dulga. "Junko Kurowai." She was the girl who attacked one of the support students. She was a crazy person, and the reason she joined the heroism class was because of the teacher. Not for any personal reasons. And she generally seemed like a very odd person. Frankly speaking Dulga didn't really care much for her. But seeing her up close Dulga came to a quick realization: this girl might be someone Dulga could use. Someone who isn't tied to heroic ideals. But Dulga needed to get a better read on this girl. "That's fine. But I'm done eating." Dulga started playing a different song on her phone. If Dulga plans on working with this girl in the future, she might as well get to know her better. "What does your quirk do?" When Dulga had pulled her legs close to her chest, wrapping her arms around herself with her cloak covering her body, she looked rather small. Almost approachable.

Acion Nakamiji

Alice Nova

The rest of the entire demonstration was a lot more relaxing, now that his performance had finished, with a very much acceptable result no less. Acion could now focus on watching the rest of the class perform in relative peace and a much more constructive mind than those before him.

Among them, one of them particularly caught his careful attention. It wasn’t the puppet show by Donny, even though it was kind of cute that he couldn’t help but give some claps to. It wasn’t the half-successful lamp performance by Carol either, or the almost maniacal demonstration by Junko. No it was the much more bland flying show by Alice. However, to Acion, it wasn’t bland. His interest and curiosity came only from the depth of his knowledge with flying and aerodynamics. Once the people next to him settled down and the noises went down, her talent became clearer to discern

Her flight was in complete silence.

In order to create enough lift to keep flying and yet creating no wind at all took special techniques and especially practice. Lots of them. It might not seem impressive here, but imagine a night battle against this kind of ability. Acion could definitely see the usefulness in different situations. Not to mention she’s quite fast too. Overall, a very interesting and impressive display. He gave her a round of applause, although in relative silence and modesty.

”Ah, my favorite class of the day: Lunch!”

After his hero class, Donny trudged through the rest of his morning. After obligatory introductions the regular classes were fairly typical, almost boring. Donny had to resist the urge to sleep and subsequently start to drip. His mind was on what Ms. Mako had said and wondered if what she had said were really good things or not. Still once the bell rang for lunch Donny eagerly left class to go stake his claim.

Due to his bizarre alien philology, sitting on a bench or chair was somewhat awkward for Donny, and the way he eats could be considered unappetizing. Certainly, Donny has been taught how to eat “properly”, but he wants to enjoy his food. And so Donny grabbed his bags and headed outside where the trees were. There were enough leaves to provide ample shade and more importantly cover. He looked around for a particularly tall tree, one he felt he could confidently avoid most people. After all of the tree was too tall and provided little shade, no one would one to go there right?

Once he found his target Donny eagerly dashed his way over. Unlike his walking speed where Donny creates legs of a sort to simulate a walking motion like others, when he moves quickly it looks more like he’s dragging his body forward with tendrils and his arms. But this enabled him to move quickly with a low profile as he got to the tree and started climbing. Thanks to his sticky body and natural claws he could climb things fairly easily though he hopes this tree can support his weight. Once he was settled in Donny allowed himself to relax. His body began to soften and ooze, sliding down the side of the tree. He sent out a few tentacles to lift his body almost as if he was leaning against the branches. And finally, Donny could have his lunch.

The introduction was the most interesting part of the day. For the rest...since it was the first day of school, everything was merely introduction, and therefore boringly easy. He still kept all the notes from all classes, but he didn’t really bother with looking it over again, unlike usual. He just headed over to the cafeteria and bought for himself some lunch.

As per his middle school habit, he didn’t like to stay in the cafeteria to enjoy his lunch. He would usually go to the rooftop, by himself or with only a couple of his friends where they can enjoy some relative peace, the food and the view, and that any conversation they had with each other wouldn’t be distracted. But he found a place a lot more attractive to have lunch at: the tree close to the center of the school. It was higher than the rest of the trees in the courtyard, and had a good view. It had little shades, but the height was alluring. The feeling when the wind blowing through your hair, threatening to blow you off your course was thrilling. It wouldn’t come to any surprise for someone who had an entire family tradition of living off the ground to enjoy such a breathtaking environment.

Acion examined the height of the tree as he slowly made his way over to the courtyard. Once he knew how much he needed to make his way up, he held onto his bags and lunch tight, took one stride and leapt off the ground, making a smooth ascent over the tree height. Then as he stopped going up, his wings beat several times as he chose that high branch large enough that probably wouldn’t collapse under his weight. His legs touched the branch, swaying the trees a little bit, before he positioned himself so he was sitting on the tree branch like he was sitting on the bench. Wasn’t the nicest seat in the world, but seeing everybody beneath him shrinking to the size of bugs was an interesting sight to bewilder. Acion then opened his recently bought lunch and took a bite, unaware of his ‘table-mate’ beneath him

Unbeknownst to both of them, someone had already been present on the tree for a while by now… or rather, as long as the break had allowed it. There were very few indicators of her presence, but the most obvious one should be the backpack resting on a branch just beneath Acion. It had a rather basic design with nothing too special about it. Certainly the backpack of someone who had no intention to stand out or break the norm when it came to things such as backpacks. Whether it was due to lack of caring or shyness one would have to find out themselves. If Acion paid enough attention he’d certainly notice it, although its owner was seemingly nowhere to be found. Indeed, if one were to look for the girl herself, they certainly wouldn’t have any luck finding her nearby…

There was, however, on a branch which was on the same height as Acion’s, just on the opposite side of the tree, a sleeping owl! A great horned owl, to be exact, striking rather pretty brown feathers. It seemed to just stand on the tree, leaned against the thick stump of the tree while sleeping ever so quietly and peacefully, enjoying the soft gushes of the wind and the calm noises of nature itself. While it was certainly interesting to see an owl like that, it seemed like nothing special in itself. Just a very typical appearance for its species.

As Donny took out the bread and opened up his bento boxes revealing meats and cheeses for his sandwiches, he heard the slight sound of creaking above. He spotted Acion deciding to take a lunch here as well but to Donny’s surprise, he saw an owl was here too. He didn’t want to disturb it so he tried to be very quiet as he moved up towards Acion. ”Whaaah… How did I not notice?” Figuring it would be rude not to make his presence known, Donny finished off his current sandwich and used his many limbs to climb a bit higher up, holding his lunch carefully as well. ”H-Hey Nakamiji-san. Fancy meeting you here. Um… I think there’s an owl here. Pretty big... You want a sandwich?” Donny constructs a simple bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich for Acion. He also had some small bottles of condiments such as mayo and ketchup if he wanted some. And of course, a can of cola.

”Oh Kinoko-san. Heh, I didn’t see you.” Acion heard the familiar voice beneath him. He didn’t mind having Donny as his company, as he slid aside to let the black mass crawl his way up to him. ”I have one here, but thank you.”

The winged man kindly took the food constructed for him. Even though he already had one, it’s a little hard to deny when he had already made this much. Besides, for the kind of lifestyle that Acion had, having lots of food intake wasn’t bad in the slightest, so he could handle all of this.

”And really? Is there an owl here?” He first looked up then down, looking for the one in question. Nothing. But when he bent forward and looked over to the other side… ”That’s huge. I didn’t think owls are that large. I’d try not to wake it up.”

He wasn’t sure how owl would interact with humans, but he wouldn’t want to take chances.

”Anyway, how’s your first day of class?”

The commotion caused by the two other students interacting with one another was enough to disturb the peaceful sleep of a particular owl. The calming sounds of nature were usually enough to keep her nicely and softly in her slumbers but of course, as it was to be expected, the presence of other students would be enough to interrupt that.
The owl slowly opened its eyes and let out a cute but inaudible yawn. Contrary to normal owls, Alice was able to move her eyes around just fine even as an owl. It was a lucky advantage of not being an actual owl, but rather an owl quirk user.

Once awake she attempted to locate the source of her awakened state and would soon find the two other students right next to her. Frankly, the sight of Donny still gave her somewhat chills, considering just how out there he looked with his tendrils attached to the surrounding tree… but she was not one to complain much. The other student was more normal compared to that, although his wings were certainly unique themselves.
Alice, while still being an owl, leaned forward on her branch and looked sideways at the two students, unsure of whether she should say something or not. She found it rude to interrupt their conversation, but her backpack was beneath them on a branch… what a dilemma! The fact that staring at them with those wide, round and almost creepy eyes which owls were known for wasn’t exactly non-creepy either was something which Alice had not taken into consideration.

”Hero class was f-f-fun! I was pretty nervous but but I think I did pretty well, all things considered. Mako-sensei had some ah… Interesting things to say about my abilities. The other classes were okay too. Kind of boring but that’s class for you.” Donny made himself another sandwich as he pulled his body up and got comfortable. The branches around him groaned slightly from his weight. ”What do you think about the others in our class? If if you don’t mind me asking! I mean… I don’t wanna be a gossip or nothing, just wanted to hear your thoughts.”

”Oh yeah. It's the first day too so...” Acion had another bite from his large lunch. ”I like the class actually. No one seemed to be...what’s the word...outrageous. I-I mean there are some weird and unique personalities, but they seem to be nice people at the end of the day.”

It was a lot more of a change in comparison to UA sometimes. Or rather their prospective students. A couple of them were just straight up assholes, perhaps stemming from the fact that they were strong enough to be considered into UA getting to their heads. This school’s modest identity and reputation probably helped filtering out those sort of personalities. If anything, Acion loved this environment. A lot more relaxing and chill than what he was used to.

It was then that Acion finally noticed that someone, or rather something, was staring at them both. It was that owl earlier. It had awakened. And it was staring straight at the both of them. Its round eyes and its unbreaking stare was slowly creeping up his spine. Did he anger it by waking it up? What should he do now?

”S-Say, what do you think about our classmate’s ability? They’re interesting in-in many ways, though personally I like Nova-san’s silent flight. I don’t know how she does that, so that got my interests up.” He nervously asked Donny, but his eyes repeatedly and nervingly glanced over to the owl from the other branch back and forth, unaware it was the person he was referring to. It’s still looking at him, creepily. ”...So is there anyone that intrigues you or something like that?”

”Nova…? Oh, Alice Nova? She’s pretty cool too. Flies like you right? Even though you’re faster the way she flies is pretty neat too. It’s very precise you know? Like Tai chi or something. Heh.” Donny wasn’t actually clear about the nuances of flying but he thought any kind of flying was pretty cool. ”I wish I could fly. I can make wings but I’m too heavy, and my wings aren’t strong enough. I fly like a brick.” To demonstrate, Donny gathered up his mass and morphed his shape into something similar to a bat, with large leathery wings and a relatively small frame. Despite this all this accomplished was distributing his weight across his body in a very awkward fashion and threatening to break the branch he was on, so Donny returned to his regular form, his blackened mass spread across the branches like an ebony spiderweb.

”As for others uh… Off the top of my head, I’m still not really sure what Kurowai-san’s quirk was. She just ran at one of the support students with a knife and jumped around. I mean, she’s super strong and fast. Buuuuut I dunno what that has to do with scaring all of us like that. Let’s see… Horiyama-san’s powers are cool. I kinda wanna eat his bubblegum but would that be weird since it comes from his body? I don’t wanna be a cannibal or something. Hmm… That’s kind of all I can think off right now. I don’t really have much to say about the others yet.” Donny made another sandwich, eating it as soon as he was done before putting the bread and bento away. That was when he realized the owl was awake and froze.

Donny looked at Acion, who was looking between him and the owl. So Donny knew that Acion knew the owl was awake. ”Um… Hi?”

If Alice was more of a prankster, she'd certainly abuse this situation and come up with something to get a good laugh out of it. However, she felt it'd be rude to do so especially to people who she barely knew at this point.
Therefore, Alice decided to take this the casual way. After all, it was a nice distraction from the fact that Alice was sleeping on school campus on the first day! It would have been quite embarrassing for a student who wanted to make good impressions like she did.
Alice, still being the owl, hopped over to the other branch where Acion was sitting and walked up to him. This already surreal experience was about to become even stranger though when she opened her beak and began speaking.

"My apologies… I did not intend to disturb you or listen in on your conversation"

While she wasn't particularly a prankster, she was curious to see how they'd react to this situation.
Afterwards, Alice opened her right wing and used her beak to pick a leaf which had gotten stuck between the feathers, and remove it.

”Ah!” Acion was startled when the owl hopped over to his side of the tree. So it understood both of them entirely. It also spoke! Human language.

Acion slapped his temple twice before taking a look at the owl again as it was removing the leaf. Nope, it’s not a dream. But this couldn’t possibly be a normal owl. But then he did notice that the owl wings were of the same brownish color as Alice’s when she was doing her demonstration earlier. Its voice was of a female too. Could it be?

”I might be mistaken, but are you Nova-san from the hero class?”

Alice was impressed that Acion was able to figure out her identity so quickly. It showed his perceptiveness and ability to form good ideas from context. Certainly something which Alice liked seeing in others- It was a sign of competency.
As a reply, owl-Alice nodded.

”You are not mistaken. I am indeed Alice.”
She replied calmly.

"This is just the full extent of my powers, I suppose. What I showed earlier was just partial.”

“Cheesus!” Donny was nervous seeing the owl approach, but when it talked it nearly made him fall out of the tree. Instead however he simply repositioned himself to keep a branch between him and this strangely sentient owl. However thanks to Acion’s quick deductions followed by the owl’s own confirmation, this was actually Alice Nova. In hindsight he should’ve figured: she did seem kind of owl-like, and she did demonstrate the ability to transform wings. Why wouldn’t she be able to do a full owl?

”N-Nova-San? You can turn into an owl? That’s… Thats cool!” Moving back to a more comfortable position Donny looked over Alice. He knew a few folks who had animalistic forms, but Alice would be the first he'd ever see who could shift between full human to full animal, and possibly any hybrid form between. Donny made her a turkey and cheddar sandwich. ”You want a sandwich? Maybe a cola?” Donny also produced a can of cola, popping it open for her.

”So you can shapeshift your wings as your arm, or fully. Can you like...choose what you want to shapeshift?”

If she could do that, then things would be incredibly convenient. If she wanted to fly, she could simply just get the wings out, and when its use was not needed, she became a human again. It would be a stretch to say that Acion was jealous of that kind of power, but he didn’t deny it would have been nice if he could...retract his six wings somehow. It was currently carefully curled in and placed in a way that did not impede his surroundings, or his balance on the trees. Having to always worry about that kind of thing was sometimes annoying.

”I’m kinda curious though, do you have that much food stored in your...black body...” He was trying to find the best words to describe Donny’s physique. ”...or you just made it right on the spot?”

Donny’s demonstrations were more entertainment than really showing off his capability with it. It didn’t really say much about the inner nature of his quirks rather than his personality. Now that school’s out of the way, perhaps Acion could get to know that a little better now.

“I store it.” Donny demonstrates by revealing the box of soda he had inside of himself. ”The only thing I can make from my body are bones and stuff. Everything else I just sorta… Stuff inside and hold onto. Since I can’t really wear clothes I’m basically my own pocket.” Donny demonstrates his bone work by having small finger-like appendages appear all over his body, grasping at the wood to pull himself around. From each finger a full hand would form, followed by the rest of the arm, with each bone connected via ligaments made from Donny’s black mass.

Then he draws the bones back inside of his body, taking out his cellphone to play some games while he chats with Acion and Alice. ”It’s kind of hard to describe. I mean… I don’t have a normal body like you, obviously. So it’s like…. Hmm…” Donny was at a loss for words to describe his quirk and how it works. Between playing on his phone, making sandwiches to eat, and paying attention to Acion, Donny’s mind was a bit scattered.

”I guess it’s like… Yeah, imagine wearing a hoodie with a huge pocket in the front. Or no, a backpack you wear on your your chest I guess. You know how much you can fit in there so you can just ya know, put all your stuff in there, pull it out when you need it, and you always have it on you. T-That’s kinda what it’s like I guess.”

Glancing at the two, Donny felt it’ll only be fair to ask them how it was like with their quirks too. ”W-What about you two? How’s like… Your bodies like or something? I think I said this before but but even if I make wings, I can’t fly. I dunno how d-d-different you two are to a normalish person. I’m sure you you you got some pros and cons.”

Alice respectfully declined the offer for food and beverages..
”Thanks, but… I’m not hungry at the moment.”

Truth be told, she was mostly weirded out by his appearance which sort of reduced her appetite for eating anything which he “produced” from his body… pockets? She wouldn’t let it cloud her judgement of his character however, of course. Alice liked to believe that she was above those superficial things.
Before Donny began his demonstration, Alice answered Acion’s last questions for now.
”-Yes. I can shapeshift whatever part of my body I desire to shapeshift. Although I do feel quite uncomfortable unless I fully transform into an owl. Partial transformations feel weird... this is also why I am wearing glasses as a human. My owl-eyes work amazingly well, much better than human eyes ever could really. My human eyes however are… well… I am wearing glasses for a reason. I could partially transform just my eyes but firstly it’d look creepy, I mean you are seeing my owl-eyes right now after all and you were already creeped out by it, and secondly it’d be uncomfortable as I just mentioned.”

Afterwards, as Donny demonstrated his more or less exact characteristics of his body, although the details were still cryptic afterwards, Owl-Alice tilted her head in a typical fashion as she observed. Frankly… showing bones beneath the black… mass… didn’t exactly make him any less creepy in appearance. Alice was able to get somewhat of an idea as to how Donny functioned but it was still very much… out there. Honestly, it might just be one of the most unique quirks she had ever heard of or seen.

In response to his question Alice would give a quick nod.
”Well, it is like how I explained earlier for me. Anything that isn’t full owl or full human feels uncomfortable… not sure how to describe it. It’s like a weird tension which gets worse the longer I stay that way.
Alice untilted her head and looked at Acion.
”I would be curious about yours too though. You’re certainly no average guy with wings from what I’ve seen earlier…”

So it did have its problems, but still a lot more useful than having to have mutant quirks stay. Although if he were to be honest, it was creepy more because he didn’t know who Alice was before. Having a large owl that you had never seen staring at you would pluck some of your nerves.

When Donny was explaining his quirks, Acion also tilted his head, but let his cheek laid on his arm as it rested on his other arm folded on his torso. The way his inner body was structured was very unique. A black blob that engulfed bones that Acion honestly didn’t understand what kind of mutation caused that kind of structure. Well, Acion’s wing structure is definitely unlike everybody else, even among his family, but the last time he remembered meeting Donny, his parents were normal looking. So either they could control their forms or it was just the time that God was not looking his way when he made his subject.

When both of them inquired about his physique, Acion would shrug his shoulders a little.

”The way I fly is a lot more...gravity I would say.” Acion was also trying to search for the right way to express it. Both sides of his wings panned out a little for both of them to have a look at. ”It may look cool per say, but it is more of a drag than anything. I mean look at the shape of it.” He twitched his wings a little. It definitely did not resemble any normal birds. One pair was forward swept while the other backward. One pair was curved outward, while another inward. ”When flying, it just creates more drag than anything. In a speed race, I would be more than likely to be last place. So when you said earlier Kinoko-san, that I am faster than Nova-san, it’s because I use height to gain speed, rather than me being fast.”

He then retracted his wings back to his previous position and took a sip from his soda. ”That’s...pretty much all how my body works. The rest is just practice. Everyday until I master it. Well I wouldn’t say I mastered it, but...you get the idea.”

”Practice practice.” Donny echoed as he ate the sandwich he made for Alice and drank the soda. And then ate the can. He put his lunch away having eaten at least half the bread and one bento box worth of meat and cheese, putting everything back into its container before absorbing it back into his mass. Acion and Alice’s words echoed in his mind as he started to realize something.

”You two practice your powers. It kinda… Kinda makes me nervous. N-n-not about you two of course! I mean… I never really trained to be a h-hero or anything. I’ve used my powers a lot sure, eat stuff to clean stuff and just live ya know but… Hero stuff like saving people or fighting bad guys, I’ve never really done that. Not seriously at least. Just games I play as a kid ya know?” Donny created a pair of fists from his mass and threw some punches, but it was obvious that he didn’t really know how to throw a punch.

”K-Kinda related to what I was talking to you about before Nakamiji-san, I always figured you’d be a hero. And N-Nova-San, you’re pretty smart too, you know the strengths and limits of your quirk. I uh… I don’t really know much about how to use my quirk in a fight. I mean I know how, cuz video games, but I’ve never practiced I guess. Um… What I’m saying, or asking, is like… How experienced are you two at using your quirks for heroism?”

After having listened to Acion speak, Alice watched Donny just casually eat the can of soda after having emptied it. Again, rather weird but somewhat practical? ”At least he cleans up after himself like that… that is kind of neat.” she thought to herself.
Acion did make quite a lot of sense though in what he was saying. And while inspecting his wings carefully as he showed them off and aloud the two of them to observe them, Alice came to the same conclusion. However, while maybe not the fastest in flying, they would certainly create some powerful swings, especially considering that there were multiple of them.
”I can see that it requires a lot of practice indeed… but those wings certainly have a high skill ceiling, I’d say.”

While the lot of them were talking, Alice was just idly sitting on the branch using her feet/claws to hold herself onto it. Luckily she wasn’t very heavy as an owl and didn’t add too much weight to the already fragile branch which was also carrying Acion and partially Donny.
Speaking of Donny, he mentioned some of his insecurities next which caused the owl’s eyes to stare right at Donny again. It was a bit weird since owls cannot really smile so it was hard to read her emotions other than through voice… and her voice was friendly but also respectful.

”Firstly, thanks for the compliment. I do kind of have to be smart considering how I am an owl and all that.” Alice chuckled to herself slightly after that joke.
”But honestly, you need not worry too much about heroic activities. With a body like yours, at least from what I’ve seen, you’ll have no problem at all. I can imagine you being effective in a vast array of situations from combat to rescue ops- Honestly, in theory the possibilities of what you can achieve with that body are amazing. You just need to get your mind behind it.”
Alice paused for a moment while shuffling her wings a little to get more comfortable.
”If it’s any reassurance, I’ve never done anything hero related either.” she said, in response to Donny’s question.
”But I’ve given thought as to how to use my quirk for such things of course.”

Alice wanted to add more to that, e.g. giving Donny some tips, but she felt like she’d be overstepping some boundaries since they had only just met.

”She’s right.” Acion concur as Alice spoke. ”Truth be told, I don’t think many students have first-hand experience at combat. The most they got is with a fight instructor or someone like that. So I think you’re not that bad off.”

He understood the peer-pressure. After all, he is living with a hero sister, who was a lot more advantaged than he was in many ways. It was nervous simply living up to her image, not even considering surpassing it. Acion did have insecurities considering his flight capability when he was younger. What got out though was more down to success than approaching heroism in a different mindset, which may not translate in the same way like with Donny.

”My experience?...” He stopped to think. Should he just say it out loud or he would keep it under a lens. ”The only time I actually use it for heroism is one small skirmish with a villain like...6 months ago on a camping trip.”

When he said one small skirmish, it was actually a brutal fight involving lots of bruises and bloody noses. If one paid close attention to the area of his right arm a little beneath his shirt sleeve, there would still be a memory of that time: a short straight scar caused by a sharp object. It could easily be mistaken for something else, but it was a grim reminder of what real combat could turn out.

”I didn’t really do much then but just hold out. The pros arrived soon and just cleaned the mess up.”

”Awawawa!” Lacking a face to make facial expressions, Donny could only convey his shock via words and jiggling. Apparently Alice was about as knowledgeable as he was when it comes to heroics, which he simply thought was weird because she seems more of the well-read type, whereas Donny just took the class on a whim. Though what she did say about him gave Donny a bit of encouragement. He always knew what really was holding him back was himself, but even as obvious as that was he still always had doubts about if he was even capable as a hero. It wasn’t like there’s many slime-based heroes in recent history after all.

However what Acion said surprised Donny too, though Acion was being vague. Still it seemed like he did have a run in with a villain, and even had a scar to prove it. Acion didn’t seem like the type to embellish a story so he was likely telling the truth, or at least Donny thought so. ”That sounds so scary! I’ve never seen a villain in person before… I kinda don't really want to either. I’ve dealt with jerks and mean people before but a straight up villain that’s… Thats gotta be something else.”

Mentioning this, a thought came to Donny’s mind. Before he could really filter it he just said it outloud. He was getting very cushy around Acion and Alice so he spoke pretty freely. ”Who do you think in our hero class might be a villain?”

”So you’ve fought a villain before? Impressive.” Alice added to the conversation. It was impressive indeed, she thought. And while Alice did notice the scar, she did not put it into relation with the skirmish since, realistically, it could have come from anything. Acion really seemed like someone to look up to… at least, that was the first impression which Alice had gotten at this point. Really, she herself only knew a couple of things about combat, but her quirk wasn’t made for combat anyways. Although talking about these things was not too important right now, which is why she remained quiet.
Donny’s next question did draw Alice’s attention again though.
”A villain? Are you referring to our teacher?”

Donny’s next topic also caught his attention again, and in a strange way. It felt a little polarizing to be speculating who might be a villain, considering villainy isn’t some sort of game where if you defeat him, he goes to jail and you get hailed. People get injured or even killed in these fights.

”...I don’t know to be honest.” He struggled to tell an answer. ”It has only been the first day. Judging them of that right now would be a little...presumptuous.”

By the time he answered the question, he had already finished his lunch. It was such a filling, having to consume both his own lunch and Donny’s as well. He figured that having a little bit of a walk would help digesting all of it.

”Anyway, it’s nice to meet you two today. I’d go for a walk around school now, if anybody wants to join me.”

Once Donny realized how weird his question was, he opted to do the best thing and quickly move on. It seems like the others were confused or disinterested in the topic as well, so Donny accepted this outcome. ”Y-Yeah! Sure. I mean uh, I don’t mind just walking and chatting and such. I just need to to put some of my extra food away at my locker, we can meet up somewhere, just hang out and such.” Donny says as he starts to work his way back down the tree. It mostly consists of him sending out some tendrils to grab onto the trunk and just letting his body free fall for a bit, then holding himself up with his tentacles.

”I’ll see you guys soon!” Donny waves a little black tendril at Acion and Alice before he rushes off to the lockers, dragging his dark ooze across the grass. You could plainly see the trail he left behind on the grass that was flatten underneath his weight.

”See you in class.”
Upon seeing Donny slither away and leaving a trail on the floor Alice frowned slightly. Well, as much as that was possible anyways. Acion’s proposition caught Alice’s attention and she was interested in joining. After all, she’d have to explore the school grounds herself to get familiar with the campus layout. Making a friend, especially one who has similar quirk characteristics, would certainly be useful and nice as well.

”I wouldn’t mind joining you, if that is okay with you. I haven’t had a proper time yet to explore the school and I’d like to familiarize myself with the environment.” she asked respectfully.
Afterwards, regardless of Acion’s answer, Alice just remembered something.

”Ah right... I usually don’t go “full owl” around people…”
Alice jumped down a level and landed on the branch where her backpack was.
”You see... “ Normally Alice wasn’t one to stutter much, but this was slightly embarrassing even for her.

”My clothes th-they don’t transform with me. Which means that… if I turn back I…will be exposed.” she looked at her backpack. Luckily owls cannot blush!
”So would you mind dropping down so I can turn back without being watched?”

”Alright, see you later.” Acion said goodbye to Donny as the latter headed off elsewhere. ”And sure, I would love a company.”

When Alice explained one specific detail about the transformation leaving her ‘exposed’, Acion was aware of what that really meant from her tone.

”Oh I see...S-Sure!” Yet still it didn’t allow him an articulative response. ”I-I’ll be...you know...down there.”

He quickly realized that he was making himself a doof in front of a girl, so Acion just stopped saying anything more and just got his backpack and jumped off the branch, landing gently just close by, where he would stay there, back turned against the tree, until Alice was done.

Once Acion had dropped down Alice could finally get ready herself. She opened her backpack and jumped inside of it, loosely putting the clothes over her owl body, which must’ve looked kind of funny to anyone unfamiliar with the situation. This was done in order to kind of put the clothes on while transforming by essentially growing her human body into them.
Afterwards she changed back into the normal non-feathery human Alice. Thanks to her loosely putting on the clothes prior, the only thing missing were the skirt, socks and shoes. Luckily those few items were rather quickly put on as well. Now, Alice was never exactly naked during the process but she obviously did not want Acion, or anyone else for that matter, to see her underwear which is why she stayed in the protective crown of the tree.

After having finished getting dressed again, Alice put on her backpack and climbed down the tree. She didn’t feel like flying so climbing was her way to go for now.
She patted some dust off her clothes and then put on her glasses again.

”Thank you for waiting. I am good to go now.”

After a couple of minutes waiting for Alice, Acion could now reel in himself and gained back his calm. He didn’t need to be that stupid. It’s just a common thing that happens in the quirk’s world. Next time, just relax and reply casually and respectfully. ’You’re not that kind of person’ Acion forced himself to believe.

Once Alice appeared behind him, signifying she was done, he turned around, allowing her to take the lead.

”After you.” He said, internally sighing in relief that he didn’t screw anything up.

The walk was spent in relative silence, with the occasional small talks in between the two. And yet, at least for Acion, it was a pleasant time. He didn’t need a crowd of friends around him, to be filled with sounds of chatter, in order to fulfill his social need. Just someone who he could occasionally chat with was enough. It was fun, and eventually they toured a large part of the school.

”Oh we’ve been here before.”

Their current destination was the gym, where his class had demonstrated earlier. Now, it’s free space for students to have their fun or practice their crafts, until the next class begins.

“Heh, that’s my name, yeah. You’re…Dulga Tarata, right?” It was easy for Junko, or anyone really, to memorize the girl with the different arms. For someone without a flashy Quirk, she tended to be easy to identify; her wardrobe didn’t help matters. Seeing as Dulga didn’t really answer her question, Junko only shrugged before taking the seat beside her. Idly, she rummaged into her lunch bag. If she was off-put or nervous from Dulga’s getup, she didn’t much show it.

“Oh? Oh. That’s a good question.” Blunt and to the point, Dulga didn’t hesitate to inquire just what exactly her Quirk did. It was a fair enough assertion and thinking back on it now, Junko hadn’t exactly…explained what her power actually was. Then again, so didn’t the other students, but that was them. Trying not to get embarrassed on that past matter, she brought her sights off the sandwich she packed, now in her hand, to bring it over to Dulga once more.

Junko briefly pondered being coy, asking for why Dulga wanted to know about how her Quirk worked. But there was little to gain when she basically knew how the arms worked so there was no harm in sharing, yes? In the end she went with a half-answer and said, “Mhm, my Quirk’s called Fear Monger. It turns the fear of people around me into physical power for myself.” If Dulga wanted specifics she could ask since she had a mouth, but Junko only shrugged and bit at her food in the meantime.

Yukari Yozakura

After finishing her meal, Yukari put her dishes away and wandered outside. There was still time in lunch left, and she figured she might as well get some exercise in so she doesn't feel so bloated. Nothing too serious, just something to keep her stomach from getting too heavy. After she washed up in the bathroom Yukari went outside to get some fresh air and sunlight. As she walked further away from the cafeteria things got quieten, but at the same time Yukari would pick up more noises from her surroundings. Because of her blindness she was much more sensitive to the ambient noises of city life, and even subtle feelings like the air pressure, temperature, and even soft scents in the air were all things Yukari both notices more, and has gotten used to filtering. She wonders if any of the other students have picked up on her disability yet. She could only imagine maybe two from her hero class who might have some clue, but she does her best to hide it so no one would ever suspect it. "I just hope this won't become a problem later. Like if people ask me to describe what someone looks like or shows me pictures... Uwa..."

Eventually Yukari would find herself back at the gym. Since everyone had gone to lunch, the gym was mostly empty. She could hear the faint buzzing of the electricity and pipes in it's larger corridors as she went inside and just walked around. The faint smell of soap told her that the janitor must've been here at least an hour ago, and some parts of the floor was still wet. Soon she'd find herself back inside the main gym area where she had demonstrated her quirk. "Ora! This will be a good place to train!" Yukari spent a few moments to stretch, literally, extending her arms and legs a couple meters in order to get herself limbered up. She wasn't going to do anything as fancy as what she did this morning, not yet at least, but just enough to get the blood pumping. As she was walking around she found a smelly room that had some of the sport equipment in it. "Ah, Mako-Sensei must've not locked the supply room. Or maybe another class opened it? Either way, I'm sure there's something fun in here."

Digging around the room Yukari eventually found what she could identify as a basketball. It was bouncy but had a thick exterior with bumps, which she's been told is what a basketball is suppose to be like. So she gave it a few bounces, getting a feel for it's weight. "Hmm... Maybe one day I can be bouncy like a basketball too." Yukari bounced the ball in her hands for a while, dribbling it around the court. If anyone had seen her though they could tell she has no idea how to properly dribble a basketball since she was using both hands at the same time. "Ano ano.... I think I'm suppose to throw these into hoops right?" Yukari had a vague idea where these hoops were at since she had been making some noise in the room. She knew there was something big and flat above her, but her senses weren't so sharp that she could keenly identify what it looked like via just noises alone. But she guessed that's what she was suppose to throw the ball at, so picking up the basketball in her dominant hand, she wrapped her arm around the ball before spinning it over her head once and slinging it at the backboard.

She managed to hit the backboard solidly, causing the ball to bounce straight back to Yukari. That would be when a couple of other students would arrive just in time to see Yukari get hit in the face with the basketball, causing her entire body to bounce off the ground from the surprising recoil and shock. "Uwa! It didn't swoosh!"

What the…

Kouki’s brow furrowed deeper as he watched the last performance, the shock and disgust in his mind translating directly to disgust on his face. There were people with strange faces and people with weird abilities and people with extra body parts, but this was the first time he saw someone so...gross. At no time in his life had he ever thought about wanting to see someone twisted into a flesh-coil or stuffed into a bottle. That was the stuff of fiction, after all, the stuff of body horror rendered in ink and printed across the world to shock and delight audiences. To see that reflected in…Yozakura-san was it? That did a number on him.

Definitely someone to avoid during practical exams. He didn’t even want to think about how it’d feel to have her wrapped around him like rope, or anything else as gross as that.

At least he didn’t throw up. At least. But he did sway a little more as he stepped out of the gym back into the classroom. Thankfully, the following classes were less psychologically traumatizing. He kept his head down, kept his wits about him, and went through it without being selected for anything like, gods forbid, answering questions on the blackboard. Easy and quick, like all school days ought to be.

Lunch though…that was the problem.

Today’s weather was good. Rooftops were off-limits.

The sun was pretty bright. Back of the school was off-limits.

First floor had too many students. Hallways were off-limits.

Classmates were mostly social and hadn’t formed cliques yet. Classroom was off-limits.

Clubs were doing demonstrations. Extracurricular rooms were off-limits.

Yozakura was at the gym. Gym was off-limits.

Wandering through the school with his headphones on and his face set to ‘do not approach’, Kouki eventually found himself a snug spot beneath the west wing staircase between the second floor and the third floor of the school. It was a bit on the dusty side, but it was less musty than the equipment warehouse, and it was quiet too, outside of the pipes that gurgled somewhere within the wall. He squatted down, placed his hands together in gratitude, and resolved two things.

One, he’ll try harder to be social tomorrow.

Two, he’ll have to eat all of this today.

Foreign vocals blasted into his ears as Kouki began his lunchtime food challenge.

Dulga Tarata

Junko's quirk turns fear into power. "I see. Sounds useful. Like if you had to rescue a lot of people." No doubt if Junko had to help say, a room full of hostages, their fear over the situation would grant Junko a lot of power. It could have a lot of potential in disaster situations where hundreds if not thousands of people are in danger and fear for their lives. Though at the same time, Dulga wasn't sure if Junko was even aware of that sort of potential, or if she even planned to use her powers for that reason. After all Junko said she was interested in Mako, who herself was no hero, and her demonstration certainly didn't instill any notion that Junko was a perfectly good hero. "... Perfect.

Socializing wasn't Dulga's strong suit. While she may have been taught manners ever since she moved here she has failed to really make friends. She's been so focused on self-improvement that she doesn't even remember anyone from middle school and is already struggling to remember some of the students she just met today. So the idea that Dulga needed to make friends was going to be hard. "Think carefully. What do you know about this girl and what do you think you can use to your advantage? Junko Kurowai. Her power is Fear Monger. Without any fear she's only as strong as a regular girl. But even just one person who's frighten would grant her physical abilities that are clearly superhuman. She seems shy. Perhaps that is why she looks up to Mako. The criminal teacher. Use that." Dulga waited for Junko to finish chewing her food before she spoke again.

"Detention's afterschool. I wonder what you will do. What Mako will say." Dulga turned her music off and gathers up her trash. She had to carefully think of what she wanted to say, being deliberate with her words to mask her intentions. "Maybe she'll scold you for attacking a student. Sounds foolish to me." Though Dulga spoke with a flat, almost robotic tone there was hints of annoyance and almost aggression. Taking the trash in her hands Dulga crushed it into to flat disk no bigger than a one yen coin. "You'd think she would know what our quirks would be. Maybe she already does." Finally she looked over to Junko. Junko could then see the burn scars on the left side of Dulga's face. Most of it was hidden by her mask, hair, and hood, but this close Junko could even notice that Dulga was missing most of her left ear and what was left was burnt scar tissue.

"Tell me how it goes. Maybe she'll be understanding. Or maybe not."
