Location: Pick-up Spot -> Front Gate
Interaction: Ramona(@canaryrose), Nico(@Karisma), Kass(@Hey Im Jordan), and Sunny(@alimariloasun)
Date: August 24th; 6:25 AM

Well, so far so good. The girl took the card and was reading it. She gave a nervous wave as the girl, well as Ramona, to be more precise, introduced herself. She seemed nice and cool so far. She was also in the same cottage. That was a pleasant coincidence. At least she already could know she wouldn't be the only new student in Zinnia. Even better was the fact that this girl seemed to be trying to learn ASL. A bright and genuine, as opposed to nervous, smile appeared on Elysia's face. The young girl put away the notecards and began signing, Yes, I know ASL. I'm happy someone else here does. I can help you learn--. At this point, Elysia paused. She realized when Ramona said she was learning that she probably meant it. Ely decided to slow down a little. She pulled out her phone to make sure that Ramona understood what she said so far.

But before the could continue much longer the two girls were approached by a tall man who seemed very kind and approachable. He introduced himself as their dorm leader. Elysia breathed a quiet sigh of relief. He seemed kind. She knew that the dorm leaders at private schools could be mean. But he seemed to be someone that wouldn't make life too difficult here. She began pulling out one of her notecards until she realized he probably already knew what was on the thing. So, she took out her phone and typed out a short, "Hello, pleased to meet you." She dared not type out his name in case Robot Elysia got it wrong. She shook her head when he offered to help with luggage. Other than her backpack, she only had one suitcase. Ramona had a duffel bag and two suitcases. If anyone needed help it'd be her. She followed along until the trio was stopped by a taller girl carrying a thermos and cup.

She must have known Nico, meaning she likely wasn't a new student, because she quickly addressed him handing Nico the thermos. She then turned to the two smaller girls, wait. No, she was looking right at Elysia? A momentary flash of panic crossed the youngest of the three girls wondering why her until the taller girl expressed why. Ely nodded her head yes when she was asked if she was Elysia. How did she know it was her? Ely didn't know anything about anyone here other than her roommate's name was Kassandra. But then the girl introduced herself as Kassandra. Guess that makes sense then that she could easily guess she was Elysia. Nico may have told Kass about her.

But then that also meant it was likely she already knew everything on her silly little notecards. Elysia started feeling like maybe she wasted her time with them. But she'd save that thought for after move-in week at least. She quickly typed out on her phone, "Pleased to meet you. Hope we have a good time together." Soon after the group began moving once again. Elysia fell back towards her quieter ways. There were plenty of people in the group so she didn't need to try and make conversation. Also, the fact that Nico began giving the tour to the newcomers of the group. She looked in awe at the amazing campus. Everything looked beautiful. She just couldn't believe that she was accepted to such a marvelous place. The seeming end of the tour brought the group to the front of the Zinnia Cottage. Ely looked at the building with a smile. It looked so wonderful. Nothing like the normal dorms she had looked up on the internet. She noticed that Nico had somewhat backed off from the girls. Did he want them to chat some or was it just that the tour was over?

Either way, Elysia looked to the other girls. But before she could finish typing on her phone she saw two more students approaching. A confused expression crossed her face as she realized one was riding piggyback on the other. That was certainly odd. When they reached the steps to the cottage the girl dropped the boy straight onto the ground. She was a little uncertain about the new girl but the boy didn't seem to mad. The girl walked by them addressing everyone nicely at least. Before she could think about it though the girl was gone before she grabbed her notecards. Maybe later was what Elysia thought. Then the boy introduced himself and even held the door open for them. Elysia gave a small smile and decided to go on in. For a moment, she paused and looked with mouth agape at the remarkable interior. Did anything in this place not look incredible? When she realized she was blocking the way Elysia quickly stepped the rest of the way in. She pulled out a notecard and waited for everyone to enter. She then held the card out to Sunny. If they were going to have some form of conversation then she might as well get her introduction to him out of the way first to avoid slowing down the rest of the group's chat.

Chai rolled his eyes at Matt's ever-recurring comment to him, knowing that at this point in their relationship the other boy knew he was speaking Yiddish, whether or not he understood it was irrelevant as the tone surely implied that it wasn't a compliment. The guy just loved to fuck with people. He turned back to the kid as he introduced himself, and all he could think was, 'Thank god this kid didn't end up with Matt,' as he seemed like he would need rather gentle handling. He was timid and shy even when he got a little excited, and the cracking in his voice would probably drive the older boy crazy. 'Definitely good he got me.'

Oceanus's little bit of excitement about finding something to relate to the two older boys almost immediately went back into anxious fiddling, and Mordechai was ready to give the kid some positivity when Matt spoke up again, insulting the boy's name and his excitement in one quick go. Then he replied to Mordechai's quip, completely blasé as he passed them both and walked down the stairs before stopping short at the figure in the doorway. Chai turned to Oceanus, careful not to touch him in case it freaked him out.

"It's great to meet you kiddo, don't let Matt get you down, he's just a bit of a sour grape," He gave a wink and looked to their shared room. "Feel free to drop your stuff off inside, of course; I'm already set up on my half so it should be easy to figure out where you want your stuff to go. I'm gonna go head downstairs and mingle so I don't pass out before the day even really starts." He left Oceanus by their doorway with a soft smile and headed to the stairs.

He had figured as soon as he saw the water puddle on the ground that it was Freddie, as she was wont to chaotic actions more than most of the kids he knew here. He took a few steps down the stairs to confirm his suspicion and saw the short choppy hair and grin, which put one on his own face. He got down the rest of the stairs as Matt moved aside and held his fist out to the girl.

"Freddie! I heard you got transferred; sorry they split you and Bee up, that's practically criminal." His attention went to Matt, surprised he even gave anyone the offer of sharing food before seeing that competitive glint in his eyes. 'I am not getting in the middle of that shit.' With a roll of his eyes he spoke up with, "I'm still full on beef jerky and trail mix from the drive here but you crazy kids have fun," he returned his attention to Freddie. "You want any Cottage tips or are you gonna brave all the new info on your own?"

"Let me help you with that." Lillie looked over to see a tall young man gesturing for her bag "I’m Zeke, by the way."

The girl brushed a stray piece of hair behind her ear with a blush and replied with a soft tone “Oh sure. I’m Lillie…” handing her bag to him before climbing on the golf-cart. Thinking to herself that she was grateful she’ll be living in the same cottage as someone so helpful. “Thank you Zeke. Sorry if it’s heavy. I.. think I packed too much.” finishing with a smile.

After a short bumpy trip to cottage Lillie gracefully stepped off the golf-cart and turned to Ezekiel with a smile “That was fun. Was kind of like bumper cars at the fair, but faster!” The thought made her giggle quietly to herself.

The girl turned to Venetia, who told them about her rules for the cottage. “This is my kingdom, you get caught doing anything that's against school rules, then you'll suffer the consequences, just ask Abigail—she's got firsthand experience with that. I hate curfew breakers, doesn't matter if it's a second after or 2 minutes after. I don't care if you tripped on your way and have a note from the nurse's office. Don't. Break. Curfew." Watching her push through the door of the cottage following closely in toe. "All rooms are on the second floor. Ezequiel, your roommate is Jordan Dom, you'll know where it is when you see it, probably. And Lillie, your roommate's name is Jessa—oh, sugartits." Still following closely as Venetia starts to walk them through the rest of the cottage watching her expression change to a sudden realization as she turns her sparkling gaze to Lillie. “You're perfect! Your roommate is Jessamine, she arrives at 9AM. You remember the front gates right? Go pick her up. You have two hours or so, don't forget. Ezequiel?" Holding herself together from crying after being in the spotlight like that as Venetia turns her attention to Zeke.

Hearing people from the other room, Lillie’s attention was drawn back to Venetia "Now, you're all set. I hear some voices in the kitchen, go on, introduce yourselves, or make friends—whatever it is that kids do these days. You have some time so run along now. I got better places to be." watching her leave like a hurricane turning to Zeke

Well she is exciting wasn’t she?” Lillie moved toward the kitchen and with an inviting smile “We should go meet them. We have to live together so we should all try and be friends.” hiding a nervous, coy look behind the smile. She really was trying not to be a mess on her first day. After all- first impressions were everything.

Lillie psyched herself up as she stood beside the kitchen door and mumbled a bit to herself. “Okay Lillie you got this. Piper would want me to make new friends.” Walking into the kitchen “Hi everyone I’m Lillie! I’ll be living in the cottage with you.” watching the other two. Doing her best to visibly hold it together as she was incredibly nervous. “Do you guys like video games?

Idette was ahead of the two girls, in hopes the two could be friends. She side eyed them a few times, before staring straight ahead again. She took in the scenery and the soft glow of the sun before taking in a deep breath, nice day for the gym.

Before Idette had even known it, she arrived at the front steps of Wisteria cottage. She had blanked out from the whole walk, daydreaming about the gym, that before she knew it, Idette had slightly tripped on the steps; it was a sudden wake-up call back to reality. She turned her body halfway to face the two students and spoke.

“This is Wisteria Cottage.” She turned back around and rested her hand on the knob while turning it, “Nathanial’s room is right there. It’s mandated that all leaders reside on the first floor.” She casually walked behind them and locked it.

“They say it's for safety—” The girl walked back to face the both of them, “But really it’s so they can catch you sneaking out. Or sneaking someone in. The school is smart, just try not to get caught.”

Oh, but I didn’t tell you that.” She walked her way to the stairs, and turned herself around a few times to see whether they were following her or not.

“Upstairs are our rooms.” She began going up, “You each have a roommate. Lavanda, you’re together with Eden Lockhart.”

They were all now in front of the several doors the hallway had. “That’s your room, potato girl.” She pointed to ‘Wisteria 2’ before laughing under her breath. She still hadn’t forgotten to apologize to Lavanda for what had happened previously, but she had to take care of Fatima before doing so. It was too awkward to bring it up right now.

Idette cleared her throat and did a quick nod at Lavanda, in hopes she can do everything right now by herself, and with a swift movement, Idette continued walking to show Fatima her room. Idette took her to ‘Wisteria 4,’ the room where the two will now be residing at.

She opened the door and turned sideways to face Fatima. “I’m your roommate.” She meekly said, perhaps a little embarrassed to kinda just say that.

“Um.” Her slender fingers pointed to the right side of the room, “that’s my side. You can kinda tell...maybe? It's not really..Finished.” She lied. She never had to do anything with the room, it has been hers for 2 years now. Idette always kept her side clean and proper; during the summer, Idette kept it exactly as it had been the past school year. Her side is bland—there’s nothing to it but just her necessities.

She side stepped in case Fatima wanted to enter the room before her.

His eyes trailed upwards to stare at the figure who stood in front of him, looking down at him in a condescending manner. Did he like it? No. Did he like what he said? No. Did he like him? No. Not really.

Ocean glared up at Matthew.

Stupid creepy neighbor.

“Is that your gift? The wannabe detective asked Ocean without giving him a chance to respond and continued, “I think I know your partners. Pondi and Lakethey, right? Shame they're not in the same cottage as you. Such is the path of independence.”

Then, Ocean watched as Matthew walked his way downstairs. He kinda couldn’t believe his ears and eyes, this dude really came and attacked his entire existence and then left like that.

“Whatever. His pjs weren’t the coolest anyways.” He whispered to himself, finding comfort in the fact that he bought his blue pjs that had the joke: “My friend went to a shellfish disco and pulled a mussel.” It’s his prized possession and he’s extremely proud of owning something like that. It has flavour and taste. Nonetheless, Ocean noted that if he were to see Matthew again, he’ll throw in any snide comments he can. If he can think of them on the spot. He hated staying up late at nights regretting not saying something in a conversation. Or replaying certain conversations over in his head wishing he was witty.

Ocean sighed and looked down at his brown loafers.

Maybe I should practice my socializing or something like that cause that really tired me out. I haven’t been this tired since mother’s wine parties or whatever they were. Geez, the amount of talking I had to do that night was just NOT fun. Who even decided that parties were a good idea anyways? Why would I want to mingle and be—

He then realized his roommate was still there. Probably just staring at Ocean blanking out and being awkward.

Quickly turning his attention to Mordechai, Ocean noticed a soft smile on the guy's face. Without meaning to, Oceanus wrinkled his face up in embarrassment.

“It’s great to meet you kiddo, don’t let Matt get you down, he’s just a bit of a sour grape.”

“Yeah. Right.” Ocean said, looking into the small space of their shared room. Wow, it was literally the size of Ocean’s family's pet room. He looked back up to listen in more on what Mordechai was saying. Something about him going to leave to mingle or something. He barely paid attention, too appalled by how small his living space was.

So Ocean, with his luggage by his feet and a bookbag slouching from his back, watched his roommate leave. He pondered for a second and wondered if he scared both of them off with his detective joke.

Ugh. Was it really not that funny…

He stood there for a good minute deep in worry before slapping his cheeks all at once and entering the room. Oceanus dragged his things and casually sat on the empty bed. It all finally dawned on him that he left his family to go to this big school in the middle of nowhere (which screamed horror movie scenario) and was now rooming with strangers. It was a weird uncomfortable feeling but he would just have to deal with it; it was how he solved all his problems, avoiding them.

Oceanus deeply sighed before throwing his full body down on the mattress.

He closed his eyes and fell into a somber.

Lavanda agreed with her, that's what laughter meant in Fatima's head anyway. "Don't worry, I'm sure we'll manage to get our cooked potatoes." She held her hand out infront of her, before forming it into a fist. "By force if we have too."

As they began to naturally slow down their pace, What would soon become Fatima's headquaters came into view. As they beckoned upon the cottage, Lavanda pipped up again. "Fatima, right? What grade are you in?"

She put her hands on her hips. "Buahaha" Was that seriously a cartoon villain laugh "I am a freshman. My first year, but you better watch out! I'm gonna make EARTHQUAKES!" It was true. Any other possibility did not exist in Fatima's universe.

Idette turned around, and began to introduce them to their new home. “This is Wisteria Cottage.” Her Headquaters, yes. “Nathanial’s room is right there. It’s mandated that all leaders reside on the first floor.” Oh Fatima knew this ruse. A watchful eyes over their 'subjects' before placing the cold predjuice boot of tyranny on them! She'll have to get a good sum of this Nathanial fellow before she'd lessen her suspicions of him.

As they walked upstairs, Idette pointed to her room. Oh boy, she hoped it contain the space for her eventual picking up of num-chucks. That art was needed but she did not wish to harm any innocents while learning. As Idette opened the door, she turned to her. “I’m your roommate. That’s my side. You can kinda tell...maybe? It's not really..Finished.”

"You're my roommate?" For a second Idette stared at her blankly. Before jumping in the air, fist pumpimg to the sky. "THAT'S FRICKING SWEET!- VICTORY SPLITS" And by Idette's suprise Fatima did literally what she said she was goign to do. Popping right back up, Fatima smiled widely. "You're gonna be a great mentor-no! partner-no! Friend on my journey. I can already tell Roomie!" Fatima went to pat Idette on the head. But the height difference led to Fatima just kinda accidentally massaging Idette's forehead. "Though we both want the first two as well right?" She whispered in conspiracy.

Finally walking into the room, She nodded to herself. "Yes, this is a fine baseline for our project. All things start from humble beginnings...first off" Jumping onto her bed, Fatima slapped something onto the wall. As Idette looked closer, she saw that it was Fatima's own name written in bubbly colourful writing.

"Looking better already. Buahahah!" Fatima broke into a slight sly. "But SERIOUSLY you would not BELIEVE how many people wouldn't let me borrow their laminator for like five minutes."

Brushing a stray strand of her hair behind her ear, the girl blushed and Zeke felt his ears redden slightly - did he say or do anything embarrassing? He relaxed slightly as she responded in a soft tone “Oh sure. I’m Lillie…” Taking her bag he secured it with the rest of the luggage before following her onto the golf cart. “Thank you Zeke. Sorry if it’s heavy. I.. think I packed too much.”

Returning her smile, Zeke only had enough time to say "Don’t worry about it-" before Venetia slammed the accelerator and the golf cart took off, causing his teeth to slam together. He didn’t know whether to laugh or be concerned as they sped off. It was all Zeke could do to hold on to his glasses to keep them from flying off during the bumpy ride, he doesn’t know how Venetia’s doing it - some special skill cottage leaders have?

A little bit later they were pulling up to the side of the cottage. Jumping off, he quickly unloaded the luggage before turning as Lillie disembarked. “That was fun. Was kind of like bumper cars at the fair, but faster!”” She giggled quietly to herself and Ezekiel found himself giving a small laugh as well.

"It was a wild ride, wasn’t it?" Straightening his glasses, he quickly grabbed all the bags before following Lillie’s example and turned towards Venetia, listening intently as she talked. "All right! Welcome to Coleus! This is my kingdom, you get caught doing anything that's against school rules, then you'll suffer the consequences, just ask Abigail—she's got firsthand experience with that.” The corner of his mouth quirked up slightly. So basically they just shouldn’t get caught. Noted.

“I hate curfew breakers, doesn't matter if it's a second after or 2 minutes after. I don't care if you tripped on your way and have a note from the nurse's office. Don't. Break. Curfew." Giving a wry smile he followed after the ladies as they entered the cottage. Mordechai wasn’t kidding when he warned him earlier.

"All rooms are on the second floor. Ezequiel, your roommate is Jordan Dom, you'll know where it is when you see it, probably. And Lillie, your roommate's name is Jessa—oh, sugartits. Wait a minute..." Blinking, Zeke glanced around for what could have prompted such a reaction, when she turned back towards them - specifically Lillie - he had a bad feeling about this.

"You're perfect! Your roommate is Jessamine, she arrives at 9AM. You remember the front gates right? Go pick her up. You have two hours or so, don't forget. Ezequiel? You'll accompany her. It'll be your first project!! Perfect!! You need to make sure you pick up Jessamina, Chester, and Taro. I think that was all of them?"

Wait...what? They need to pick up students? Is this normal procedure? Fuck, okay, they should be alright, no big deal, its just walking back and forth, should be easy...it’s not like they need to make a banner...right? Shit.

A quick glance towards Lillie confirmed that she didn’t seem any more comfortable with the situation than he was. Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to stay calm. It’s not like they could tell their cottage head ‘no’, so there was no point in freaking out.

"Now, you're all set. I hear some voices in the kitchen, go on, introduce yourselves, or make friends—whatever it is that kids do these days. You have some time so run along now. I got better places to be."

And just like that Venetia was gone, leaving the two students alone. “Well she is exciting wasn’t she?” Huffing a small laugh he turned towards Lillie. "I guess that description works."

He watched as Lillie moved toward the kitchen with a smile “We should go meet them. We have to live together so we should all try and be friends.” Nodding, "Good point." he placed the luggage down, making sure they wouldn’t be a tripping hazard before following her into the kitchen. Everything should be fine as long as he stays polite, what’s the worst that could happen after all, they’ll eat him?

“Hi everyone I’m Lillie! I’ll be living in the cottage with you.”

Following Lillie’s lead he gave a small wave as well as a polite smile. "And, I’m Zeke, it’s nice to meet you."

Thank goodness he wasn’t alone here, if Lillie wasn’t in the same situation as him he would have been freaking out way more. Speaking of Lillie...“Do you guys like video games?”

Lavanda Meri De Los Angeles

| l o c a t i o n | wisteria cottage (wisteria 2)
| i n t e r a c t i o n | @kautalya & @rithas & @Pink Khione

Lavanda had followed through as Idette instructed them on the rules of the cottage and guided them to Lavanda's new room—basically home for now.

“That’s your room, potato girl.” Idette made a sound as if she was clearing the air with her cough (and obviously hiding her laugh) before giving Lavanda a quick nod. Idette was awkward, but anyone who laughed at their own joke was someone worth knowing and Lavanda made a mental note to try and get to know Idette better.

Lavanda, who was now staring at the door Idette had gestured towards, huffed out a short laugh before answering, "Well, if I'm potato girl, then the tiny missus over here should be—"

Lavanda turned as she was talking and immediately realized she was already talking to herself. Idette and Fatima were already deep in conversation on their way to their room. Well, as deep a conversation can be with Idette silently nodding in agreement. Lavanda laughed at herself, shaking her head in the process before staring back at her door. The overwhelming sense of homesickness drenched her and she just stood silently by the door for what felt like hours. In reality, only a matter of seconds—excruciatingly long seconds—had passed but she still hadn't made any motions towards the doorknob.

VRRRRRR

Lavanda jumped, her eyes darting around the hall in search for the sound.

VRRRRRR

VRRRRRR

"Oh, duh." Lavanda reached for the source of the sound—her jean pocket. She took out her phone and read the incoming messages she had just received.

Lavanda sent a quick emoji as a response and finally gathered up the courage to face her room once more. She's glad no one has passed through this hall in the last few minutes because if not, it would have been an interesting conversation to get into. She rose her fist to knock but stopped short—it was her room, no need to knock. Plus, Idette would've told her if her roommate was there, right? Yes, yes.

Lavanda grabbed the handle and turned, pleased that it gave through and she was easily able to open the door. It gave a small creak as she made her way into her room. She saw the room was symmetrically split in the middle; a bed on both ends of the room, a large window in the middle and pair of dressers to accompany each bed. Lavanda saw that one bed was full of covers and appeared to be lived in so she assumed the other side was hers. She walked towards her bed, throwing her bookbag onto it and setting her luggage to the side (none too gently). Lavanda didn't even stop to verify if her roommate was even on her bed, she just assumed the lump she initially saw were the bed's covers and comforters.

Lavanda began getting comfortable and began humming one of her favorite songs as she began to open up her luggage and take things out of her room. In between her humming, Lavanda asked herself, "I wonder when I'll get to meet Eden? I hope she's nice."

Lucas Martin De Los Angeles

Lucas had legitimately abandoned his older sister at the front gates with absolutely no remorse. But the guilt was slowly eating up at him. He hoped she arrived at her cottage safely, but he had seen Idette near the fountains so he figured Lali would know to ask for directions. He knew that if he had stayed, much to his dismay, that he would had spent the whole day taking care of Lali and making sure she had everything she needed. Lucas needed to get rid of that bad habit or at least not do any of it at school. He had an enigmatic sort of presence—he was seen as the quiet, cool art kid and he much liked that sort of image. What would that do to his image? The great Lucas taking care of his sister? Guiding her? That would have been damaging.

As he made his way back towards his cottage, Lucas decided to take a small detour through a forest path. He loved the small hidden trails the school had to offer and would try to take them as often as possible. The only downside was the fact that it took almost double the time required to reach the cottage. As he made his way through, he passed by a few teachers he recognized and noted that this was a path that seemed to be popular with them.

"Oh, you!!" Lucas heard a voice from behind him and turned around to meet with a teacher he had only seen once or twice during his freshman year. "Yeah! You're good at art right? that's your thing?"

Lucas did not answer immediately and instead his eyes traveled down towards the teacher's hands. The teacher was carrying a bucket of white paint and some paint brushes. Lucas inwardly cursed himself for deciding on the scenic route.

"I need some help covering some Graffiti over on that building," the teacher continued, seemingly nonplussed by the lack of response coming from Lucas. "Please take care of it, I can see to your luggage, just give me your name."

Wordlessly, Lucas handed over his luggage and was given the bucket of paint and brushes in its stead. The Teacher smiled widely after giving him the name of the building and which part needed to be covered by today and before orientation day. Apparently, it was going to be a more-than-one-day project for Lucas. He sighed, still standing in place as the teacher walked off with his cottage information. Lucas took out his phone, pulled up Lavanda's message thread and angrily typed a series of messages.

Having recruited his partner in crime and suffering (when it was convenient for him of course), Lucas made his way towards what he called the quad (a rectangular garden area near the building in need of a makeover). "Okay, then. Let's do this."

Idette Genevieve Blanc

i n t e r a c t i o n s. @Rithas
l o c a t i o n. Wisteria Cottage ► Main building (MIA until further notice)

Everything happened too fast. Idette could barely process what Fatima was even saying, she felt so lost. The girl tried to interject at one point but the small girl's voice overtook and continued on and on. Idette could only swallow her response and nod rapidly to everything. Sometimes Idette would throw in a, “um,” and put both hands up to slow down Fatima but it was quickly shut down each time with a bubble of excitement.

Then Idette watched her jump to the air and fall back down.

Wow.

Then there was a long pause (and Idette was about to bend down a little and ask if she was okay) and Fatima rose back up with a wider smile. Subconsciously, Idette gave the girl a wiry and confused smile.

“You’re gonna be a great mentor—no! Partner—no! Friend on my journey. I can already tell roomie!”

Idette observed her for a moment as if to see if she’ll let her reply but to her surprise, instead of words, a hand flew to her forehead.

“Though we both want the first two as well, right?”

Idette’s ears flushed red as she was very, very, very confused where the sudden physical interaction came from. Once Fatima let go and pushed her way into the room, Idette slapped her hand to her forehead and stood there dumbfoundedly. Was it that obvious that she wanted friends? Embarrassment crept up as Idette stared straight ahead.

Should I do the same back? Is that—A new greeting? Like is—is that new nowadays?

Standing there for what felt like hours, Idette let her arm fall to her side and cleared her throat. She turned herself around and walked her way over to Fatima who was speaking about a “laminator.” Idette saw the proud girl stand on the bed, pleased with the way the bubbly words look trailed across the wall; It was colorful and loud. Idette glanced at Fatima who had a huge smile on her face(and admittedly was staring at the girls forehead) before turning her attention back to the words.

“Um,” Idette played with the bandages on her fingers, “Nice decoration?”

Then, as if it were a competition (because Idette kinda got a gist of Fatima’s personality), Idette quickly spoke again.

“Project?” Her voice cracked, “I—You said something about a project so I was just..” She gave up there and then, because really Idette was just trying to run away from starting a certain conversation. She didn’t understand what the point of it was, but she was instructed by Nathaniel to do it even if she disagreed with it; she had to say it one way or another. As embarrassing as it was going to be (or a jut to her pride, Idette had to get it over with as quickly as possible.

“—Okay, um Fatima.” Idette looked up, then down, then at the bubbly words, and then finally back at Fatima before continuing.

“This might seem,” she paused and felt guilty, “strange? But I was hoping you can pick up the new arriving students.”

“They are Amarissa Bardot and Jamie Goldwin. The two will be rooming in Wisteria 3 and I, um. I know it's mean of me to push this on to you so suddenly, and I’ll return the favor I swear, but…” Idette sighed, “I have to come to the school building to help out with the staff about how orientation day will go. I have to, you know, prepare. Or whatever.. and, you know? I can’t do both. So they asked me to find someone to like, I don't know, maybe help?”

She pushed her hands upwards and flung them around. “I know! I know this is so mean. I’m so sorry, and on your first day too, but—it could be, like your chance of getting to know your new, possible? Friends?”

She furrowed her eyebrows in concentration before looking back at the wall of words, guilt washing over her. Her eyes took a deliberate blink and really, she would’ve taken this job as her own responsibility but the staff at Wellington Academy could easily have taken away her stars if she decided to just avoid the meeting and she couldn’t let that just happen. Without meaning to, a groan escaped her lips.

“Alright um,” Idette turned to Fatima, “Sorry—I really—I’ll make it up to you, I swear. I really do promise that this will be a one time thing. You can—ask Eden for help, um. I don’t know if it’ll work, but I think it could, I don't know—sorry. Um. I gotta,” she looked up at the mini clock that was dressed nicely in the center of the wall, “I gotta go. Sorry, and thank you.”

And with that, Idette left.

location: wisteria cottage | time: too fucking early | interaction with: lavanda @Karisma

A pile of processed polaroids sat in a disorganized arrangement atop Eden’s desk, just taken the night before. Images of shadowy shapes illuminated by faint light illustrated the paper surfaces, which you could almost make out to be flowers and blades of grass when you looked long enough. Eden had spent most of her night in the middle of a garden near Wisteria Cottage, taking photos of the flora and foliage. She liked the way that the darkness of night robbed the flowers of their beauty, reducing them to eerie figures in the way her camera lens captured their forms. In a way, Eden felt like the analogy closely represented herself, and as self-absorbed as it sounded, it was likely the reason why she was so engrossed in this particular photography session. Only when the first glimpse of sunlight grazed the flowers again did Eden realize she had been in the fields the entire night, and reluctantly crept back to her room through the window.

Eden hated sleeping, but she went to bed anyway. It was more accurate to say she had a love-hate relationship with the idea of being asleep itself. It was why she always stayed up so late, venturing out of her room after-hours to stay awake despite the fatigue. For as long as she remembered, Eden felt like something bad was going to happen as a result of losing consciousness, of control. It got better over time, but having the room to herself over the summer definitely helped.

A couple of hours passed. Eden was buried deep within her dark grey comforter and numerous pillows, finally finding rest after her self-inflicted sleep deprivation. Murmurs, voices, outside her door, however, found some success in waking her. Still half asleep, she dug her head underneath the fluffy blanket, and curled into a ball in the upper corner of her bed.

Suddenly, the jangling sound of a door handle interrupted Eden’s attempts to fall back asleep. Surely, she was dreaming. She didn’t have a roommate. Then, the soft thumping of footsteps seemed to get closer and closer. There was a thud of a bag hitting the mattress across the room.

Eden was awake now.

She stayed under her covers, wishfully thinking that whoever just walked in would shut up out of courtesy for their obviously sleeping roommate. Her thoughts were cut short, ironically, when her new roommate began humming and talking to herself.

Eden had gathered more than enough rage at this point. The unwelcome invader had already made a bad impression in Eden’s eyes, so she had no qualms about doing the same in return.

“Are you fucking blind?!” Eden sprung up from her covers and instinctively hurled a photography book towards the girl, without regard to what, or who it struck. She mustered up the intensity of a thousand suns in the sharp glare she directed towards the girl. “SHUT the FUCK up, for god’s sake. UGHH!” She knew there wasn’t really a chance that she’d fall back asleep again, but sank back into her covers again. She grabbed her phone from the nightstand and unplugged it, turning the screen on to check the time. It’s barely 8AM. I slept for 2 hours. Great.

Eden groaned as she rubbed her hands over her face, as if wiping the drowsiness away. She turned her head and finally got a good look at the girl who she was going to be living with for the foreseeable future—a pretty girl with long brown hair that cascaded down in voluminous waves. Unfamiliar, though. A short pause lingered as Eden’s initial anger began to dissipate, and she was eventually calm enough to address the situation she had been placed in. The nonchalant way in which she spoke after seemed almost robotic, greatly juxtaposed from her previous intense rage. “So, what are you? New to the academy?”

Begonia Cottage -> Wellington Academy

Good, he had food uncontested. Aside from getting a few dirty looks by fellow cottage members for some reasons. Not that he cared, he had pancakes.

After Breakfast, rather then dealing with the noise of the newcomers causing a ruckus moving their stuff in. Matthew decided it was best if he was to outside to get some bit of reading in instead. Plus, he might see someone fall over. That was always nice.

There was a specific tree Matthew liked. In all honestly mainly because it was in sight of people walking yet distanced enough that no one would ever think of talking to him. Plus, it had a nice butt grove. Given that most people people were busy with the dealings of introductions it was pretty quiet when he sat down.

He flipped to the page he was last at and began to work into the story once more. Ah...peace.

HOOTHOOT~

Relaxing with no one around-

HOOTHOOT~

Perfect for him to just-

HOOOOTHOOOT~

"Okay you fucking prick" Matthew stood up, holding his book in his hand. Fully prepared to teach this fucking birdy-cunt a lesson or two about annoying someone in possesion of a hardback book. But what Matthew saw in the tree was probably the biggest unit of an bird he had ever seen. It looked like it beat up all the other birds at the academy for their lunch money. And it had a mad look in it's eye. Ravenous, even. If he and this bird was in fight he wasn't sure who'd come out a victor.

Matthew let out a gutteral sigh. Great. A murderous bird thug had taken up residence in his spot. Just what he needed at the start of a new school year. Lightly smacking the book against his head, Matthew was interrupted in his self book smashing by the spotting of someone of use.

Evelyn Albright was outside. Floating around in the way she did. Of course, she did very much match the aesthetic of this place. So much that people used the word Aura in describing her. Aura was a dangerous word. Matthew had found it a good rule of thumb to stay away from things that were described using the word Aura. With the way she looked and everything. There was definitely a reputation. How she was so wellington. In all retrospects, she represented everything Matthew hated about this place.

But He knew the 'Truth'. The truth of her was...well, funny. He say he felt pity for her if it wasn't for the fact that the ability to feel pity had been torn out of him in childhood. Little no friends over here had fallen into everyone looking at her aura. He did say it was dangerous didn't he?

Plus, her gift was bird calls. That was stupid. And particularly useless. Yet here she was, like most of the things in this school. Ok, so maybe there were some things that she did actually represent about this place. Nevertheless, she concidentally was useful in this exact scenario. So she was going to get social interaction, how great he was.

Her gaze passed him, He waved his book to get her attention. "Hey! Bird Girl! Over here!" As she moved closer to him, He pointed to the brick of a bird on his tree. "You know what this is?"

HHOOOT?

It tilted it's head at the two. Probably deciding which one of the two to eat.

"I was just...awed by it's majesty you know."

Wisteria Cottage

“This might seem strange. But I was hoping you can pick up the new arriving students. They are Amarissa Bardot and Jamie Goldwin. The two will be rooming in Wisteria 3 and I, um. I know it's mean of me to push this on to you so suddenly, and I’ll return the favor I swear, but…” Now it was Fatima's time to not get a word in. As Idette fumbled her way through the words. Apologizing on the sudden task given. “Sorry—I really—I’ll make it up to you, I swear. I really do promise that this will be a one time thing. You can—ask Eden for help, um. I don’t know if it’ll work, but I think it could, I don't know—sorry. Um. I gotta-" And then with nothing else said, Idette simply dipped out of the room.

Fatima, still standing on the bed. Gave a rare moment to think in silence.

She was really that good, wasn't she. Already her partner-mentor-friend was trusting her to take in the newcomers. Already she was not the the fresh faced warrior of Wisteria cottage but a grizzled veteran who was going to work the new recruits. Better her then some teacher or authority (blegh). She'll teach them what was really up with the entire hour she had spent in this academy so far. There was a twinkle in Fatima's eye. Yes, she was already a captain. So she needed someone under her wing as well. Idette did mention that Eden. That was a good name for someone in her squad. She'd collect her and then they'd go fighting their way across enemy territory to collect the rest of her group.

But first, DECORATING TIME.

One Hour and Many Shiny Things Later

"EDEN!" Fatima kicked open the former's door. It had been left open slightly since Lavanda had left. Which obviously Fatima took as a open invitation to enter. "My colleague! I have a mission for you! A great task we have been burdened with but we must complete for our future glory!" She raised her fists to the sky. "Idette has told me we must get our newcomers to the cottage!" The fact that Fatima herself was a complete newcomer was slightly missing in her brain right now.

"Let's go Eden whateveryourlastnameis! Time is of the essence." Fatima gave a sheepish grin. "We may be a little bit late alraedy." Decorating her side of the room and adding some more glam to her makeup had gotten Fatima a little lost with the time. "ANY minute could lead to them wandering off and getting attacked by BEARS! The Horror! They haven't been equipped for Bear fighing yet! They'll stand no chance!" Fatima hopped in and out of the room. Already basically mentally running out of the cottage.

location: wisteria cottage | time: morning | interaction with: no one

Much like the chainsaw-wielding villain of a slasher film, a ditzy girl burst into the room with a kick of the door. She immediately spewed forth a flurry of enthusiastic theatrics with an immense amount of energy that left Eden speechless. There was hardly an opportunity for Eden to react or interject between the girl’s frenzied manner of speaking, and before Eden even blinked, the storm came and went.

“I-”

Eden stared at the now agape door in absolute disbelief. You’re kidding me right? Her peaceful summer break full of photography and relaxation concluded with what felt like a slap in the face—a wake-up call if you will. She let a moment of silence linger to mourn the passing of her short-lived summer break. None of the newcomers gave her a great impression so far, so she didn’t have high hopes for the school year.

Begrudgingly, Eden tossed her comforter to the side and slid out of bed slowly, as if her body were too heavy to lift. She grabbed a pair of black yoga pants that were draped over her chair and shifted them up her legs. From what Eden understood, it appeared Idette wanted her to help welcome the newcomers, but her frenetic messenger hardly bothered to wait for Eden to accept or decline the request. As far as Eden was concerned, welcoming the newbies was none of her concern and she wasn’t interested in playing along with what felt like an order from a tactless kid.

As Eden hobbled down the steps to the common area, she could still smell the fading aroma of coffee from the kitchen. The scent was enticing—with only two hours of sleep on her plate, she was sure she would need it. She had no intention of helping with cottage orientation, but she figured with all the commotion going around she wouldn’t have the chance to sleep more either way. Her eyes glanced at the door to Nathaniel’s room as she passed by on her way to the kitchen. His door was closed, but he must’ve been busy anyway if he gave Idette the task of tour guide for the day. It was a shame, she enjoyed seeing him even if he was lecturing her half the time. In Eden’s opinion, he had a promising career as a model if he ever got tired of dealing with kids.
