Starbright made sure to laugh with great malice as the washed up models' tweedle dumb and tweedle Dee slammed into each and down to the ground. "Oooh, that looked like it really hurt. Next time you should just take the money buddy." He made sure to pat Illuminator a couple of times on the head condescendingly before he left. It's not like Starbright was ever going to actually keep his word for villainous scum like him, but he didn't need to know that.

As they rode up the elevator Starbright had half a mind to answer some of the questions. Something along the lines of '8 pack actually, I had considered going for 10 however it just didn't suit me so well.' However, he could already tell the two were not all that warm to him. Adding the fact that he didn't actually do anything in the previous fight, him giving away their location like that would probably be the final straw. Understandable.

It was in Christina's office that he finally got his task, rial up the people against EAGLES. This would be easy, even if he couldn't produce the footage. Just the mere accusation coming from his star power would be enough turn half the city against him, hell even the world. But he wasn't quite sure about the location though, Power's office would be so much better for this. So he waited for those two to leave before sneaking over, while he waited he may as well look at her private shit. But it was all very boring. When someone says not to snoop around in their personal stuff it's because there is actually something to see. He only looked a few pictures before giving a big yawn. Well now that they were out of earshot, it was time to kick a door down. Starbright stood in front of the closed door to Hugo Powers' office, he didn't even care to check if it was unlocked before kicking it down with all his force. Perfect the stage was set and just time to get the water works going.

The many, many viewers of this livestream were met with a Starbright in tears. Not sobbing like the last time but more of a depressed expression. "I'm going to be honest with all my fans right now. I have now where to go anymore, my back is against the wall and there is no one to help me. I wanted to try my best to believe that despite me being discluded from EAGLES, they could still be good for this city. But earlier tonight, they attempted to kidnap me in my home or even worse kill me. I only just escaped with my life and I came back to the only place I have left to feel safe." Starbright turned the camera from focus on his face to a shot of the front of Hugo Powers' office, the door had been kicked in and it looked like a mess inside. "EAGLES even took that from me. I think I found out why I couldn't find Powers' for an interview, he clearly wasn't as lucky as me. But it's only a matter of time I need to start running again, I can't let them find me. If I make it through this, it's all because of you fans. You all have been my heroes throug this." Starbright hung up the livestream. Wiping his eyes he took the oppurtunity to sit in the throne for a bit. Laying back on Powers'chair, arms behind his head and feet kicked up on the table. He was proud of the livestream it was short, punchy and reached millions of people. Now all he had to do was wait for Christina to come back down and yell at him to get out of this seat.

"Yeah, and underestimating someone as powerful as you is ridiculously stupid." Joseph responded, before chuckling at Jamie's question. "My place barely even has working electricity. The Hag'll probably let you put it in hers though so it should be fine."

And then he turned his attention back to Alien Angel, watching as Jamie spoke with her and trying to take in what information he could. Of particular note was the mention of Infinite. While none of it was particularly substantial, he'd managed to gather together a few scarps of information about the elusive vigilante group. In any other situation, he wouldn't have been nervous, as their reputation suggested they were more heroic than villainous. However, right now they were still technically wanted by EAGLES, the current closest thing to a proper hero organisation, so he couldn't be sure they hadn't actually fallen for their lies and Alien Angel was just telling them they hadn't to get closer to them and the others on Seraph's list.

Still, if she was telling the truth, it wasn't like they were in a position to turn it down. If Seraph was supplementing his forces with villains as Jamie's encounter suggested, there was no telling how outnumbered they currently were, and the odds that they might run into villains or other Eagles members with powers well suited to countering their own weren't particularly low either. With that in mind, having an unknown fighter of their own could end up being the edge they need. In the end, he figured that the best idea available would be to let her come along like Jamie suggested, but be sure to keep a close eye on her, just in case.

Thankfully, it looked like Jamie had finished her conversation with the pink woman right around the time he'd reached this conclusion, gesturing for him to get in the car. He frowned slightly when she asked him if it was the right idea to invite Angel along, but still nodded.

"Maybe, maybe not." He said slowly, trying to think of the best way to put his thoughts into words before Angel actually got in the car. "I get the feeling that even if we didn't let her in, she'd just fly after us anyway, so whether or not it was a good idea, it's probably all we've really got. Still keep an eye on her though, just in case."

He then proceeded to list out the directions to the Hag's workshop, which shouldn't be too difficult to get to from where they were, unless more Eagle goons interrupted them on the way, of course.

Pandora was content with the fact that her new house guests didn't immediately turn on each other. The waifish one, Grace, seemed to have finally put herself together and gained some semblance of composure. Chad had also creeped down stairs and once again introduced himself by shouting his name.

He doesn't seriously expect people to shout his name every time they want to get his attention, right?

Ha. I'm not doing it. Doesn't matter how many times he whines. I'm not going to say 'Hey, THE BULLET, come look at this.'
Pandora thought to herself, self-satisfied in her petty refusal of the teenager.

The brit followed Grace and the others upstairs and stood at the back, quietly watching Grace talk. This was what she expected of the people that were going to show up at her flower shop. Maybe her call out had whipped some sense into the girl. Pandora was going to take credit for this turnaround.

Pandora frowned, though, as Grace began to mess with her flowers. Had the situation been less dire she would have absolutely interrupted this defiance of Pandora's sense of interior design. Pandora focused on the discussion of strategy but she was obvioulsy distracted. She practically flinched when she put a handkerchief on it.

When Grace seemed to be done talking Pandora pushed between Chad and Patricia and went to grab her pots. She took the handkerchief off and was briefly unsure of what to do with it before just shoving it onto Grace's chest, expecting her to hold it there. The now seemingly finnicky florist fretted over her carefully maintained plants. "Don't touch my flowers and don't put your snotty hankies on them, either." She chastised. The line seemed to want more power but she almost seemed to say it to herself. Manipulating the air she held all the plants aloft with one hand. She placed them all back to where they were originally. Then she went back to the bonsai tree that was back on the windowsill and literally adjusted it by inches. Clearly she had a precise place for it to be, down to the exact angle. Rushing back around the room she did the same thing for all the others, using her fingers to rotate it back into it's original place. Every once in a while she brought a hand up to the rose in her hair and caressed it's red petals.

Unbelievable. Messing with my flowers. I let you into my home and you mess with my flowers? Why? Don't you have one of those smarty phones? Just use one of those app things! Pandora was under the impression she was only thinking these thoughts. In reality, though she was actually quietly murmering them under her breath. If someone was paying attention they could easily catch snippets of her complaints. Pandora was so focused on this she barely reacted to the flare that shot up into the sky, perfectly framed by one of her perfectly cleaned windows.

Tom finished up his pretty efficient beatdown of Perfected Physique (still a completely stupid name - someone should have really stopped him and told him that the name was dumb as hell before he came out into the public eye with it. Really, Tom was more annoyed with the name than anything else about the man) before standing back and letting Christina deal with him. That was a pretty one-sided fight - all of the Wings had been comfortably defeated by the good guys. Tom watched as she promptly placed him in the anti-Jamie armour. That was probably deserved for someone as horrible as him, but still, it was still pretty fucked up. Tom quickly walked behind Christina and Starbright as they came to the very cool looking private elevator.

"I'm definitely gonna have to sign a non-disclosure agreement after this..." Tom muttered to himself as the elevator whizzed up the floors before settling on the 14th. Tom knew this floor well, he noted as he stepped out of the broom closet, as he had been hauled into Powers' office to get chewed out more times than he could remember, oftentimes with Blake or Brie accompanying him along. Meanwhile, he had only been in Christina's office a couple of times. It was a much cosier office than Powers one, which was quite cold and far too neat for Tom's liking. He listened to Christina's plan and nodded. "Ooh, the flair. Sounds good." He said before following Christina back out, glancing at Starbright as he went off to do his streaming thing.

Tom took the elevator ride up to the roof in silence, before getting out. He scowled for a moment, worried about how the slight rain was going to effect his hair, but immediately felt guilty and remembered there were far more important things to worry about than his hair. He put his hands in his pockets as he looked down at the cube, quickly getting them out and kneeling down to help Christina pull it out. Something was playing on his mind. If this was going to call all heroes, would Grace see? She obviously wouldn't come... But Tom was feeling the guilt wash over him again, and his face must have showed it, because before he knew it he was seemingly getting a pep talk on relationships from Christina.

He sighed. "I know, you're right... It's just that I must look like the worst person in the world right now, especially to her. It's not gonna be easy for her to just get over it, she was probably so upset, and like, it's my fault really. I just wish-" He stopped at Christina's instructions. "Shit, okay." He quickly covered his ears and watched, impressed, as the flair shot up into the air, clearly going to be visible to everyone. And then Christina suddenly ducked behind a vent, and Tom realised he probably should have thought up some excuse before, and also that he wished he brought a coat up here. It was kind of cold.

He looked over his shoulder as Beardman (another stupid name) and Brightside (hah, like the song, Tom thought) quickly ran out of the elevator and confronted him. It was time to lie on the spot. "If you had been up here a minute ago, it wouldn't have been a problem... I was walking down by the building and saw some like, purple light up here, and I quickly floated up, and it was Bypass! And she had Aria and Static with her. They portaled away before I could do anything, and I thought I need to get attention quickly, so..."

"...Bullet...that pizza delivery guy with the heroic blog...while your help is appreciated, this isn't like any of your super hero fanfictions or fighting some Saturday morning super villain...this is real...we could all get hurt or worse...you can leave now if you wish but...the choice is yours..."

Chad bit his cheek to stop himself from speaking too quickly. This guy was a cop, so accidentally insulting him or something because he was angry would be a very bad idea for Chad. After thinking for a few seconds, Chad spoke up.

"Well, uh... I'm glad that you checked out my blog, it's super cool and I worked pretty hard on it. And I'm also glad that you appreciate my help here, cause I'm staying. I know the risks involved - and I also know that innocent people are being hurt right now. Even if I don't know them, I can't just pretend it's not happening."

Chad's monologue led him to another thought - Heroes don't kill, so Patricia definitely didn't kill those people they showed on TV. Who the hell did, then? It didn't look waterlogged, and there was no damage on his body - That left out the main people in the Wings of Law. Did they hire a villain to carry it out?

Chad winced when Patricia mentioned Mind Controlling Alpha. That sure as heck wasn't a good idea - even if it was the smart thing to do, and there wasn't that big of a chance of people learning about it. Trust was a two-way street, and if anything, they should be the ones who were thankful that Alpha was willing to help them. After all, he was the guy who could rat them out at any moment, or put tracers on them, or whatever cool thing SWAT people do... If he wasn't going to help them, he would have called for backup the moment he confirmed Patricia was here.

Or, y'know, shoot them with a gun. Chad didn't think anyone present could survive a gun shot, and his reflexes were nowhere near fast to allow him to evade an actual bullet.

Oh no! Chad forgot to thank the guy for his help!

"Oh, and uh, we're REALLY thankful for the help! Just wanted to mention that, y'know? Yep."

Nailed it!

"Let's go upstairs. I have a plan...well, I have the fledglings of a plan, which I guess will be enough for the time being,"

Chad followed Grace up the stairs, eager to learn their super cool plan on taking down the villains. They didn't usually show the plans in Movies until they were already happening, so this was new territory! When he came up to the upper section of Pandora's Potts, Chad leaned against the wall, leaning and moving his head as Grace moved various plants.

Chad frowned as Grace talked about abandoning Elmore Island in the assault plans. Her reasoning was definitely sound, especially since Chad hadn't put any thought whatsoever into actually entering the structure on the island. But security couldn't be heavier then it would be at HERO One, and it would take a lot longer for police and other heroes to reach Elmore Island than Club 27.

Who was he kidding - the main reason was because Powers was probably there. He was so far the person Chad liked the most in HERO (excluding Starbright, or course), not to mention the only person who could help Chad keep his job at HERO.

Chad ended up dropping his resistance as Grace continued to speak, however. She was right about clearing Patricia's name by going to Club 27 - the bodies there had to have some kind of evidence on them that helped prove her innocence, something that Forensics either hadn't discovered yet... Or something they were paid off by Seraph to ignore. But Club 27 was crawling with police...

Nope! Screw that. Chad did not want to mess with the police - most of them didn't have any powers! If Chad messed up and a fight started, he might accidentally hurt someone! And just like his father always said - "The Police are the real Heroes!" Hurting them would be really, REALLY BAD!

Chad was distracted when Pandora picked up all the plants with one hand and kept them in the air, placing them back in their original spots. That... was definitely not something related to the ground. Telekinesis? Chad shook his head, trying to distract himself. Now was not the time to be gawking at super powers, no matter how fun that is. A sudden thought struck into Chad's head, stopping him instantly.

"Oh, I got something to add!"

Chad raised his hand and bounced on his toes, as if trying to be picked to answer a question by a teacher. He turned to Alpha before speaking.

"Can't Mr. Alpha just go to the police at Club 27? They'd probably let him see the scene, wouldn't they?"

Chad turned back to Grace, and looked at the others before speaking again.

"Also, if we're calling dibsies, I would like to go to HERO One."

Alpha / K Nine

After hearing Bullet making his choice to stay, K Nine followed the group upstairs. But based on comments, he knew they didn't fully trust him yet. Understandable in this situation.

K Nine then quietly listened in on the planning session.

Elmore Island was the first place Bypass mentioned on her first choice of places to go. After her explanation, it made sense but trying to get there would prove difficult since she herself had never been there so teleporting was out of the question. For now, it seemed that was off the table.

Then Club 27 and Hero One was talked on. As well as Bullet volunteering him to go to Club 27.

Speaking monotone, K Nine then said, "...yes...rather obvious. Perhaps besides Bullet and Pandora, anyone else on Seraph's list would most likely get arrested or be forced to...defend themselves against CPD...I'd rather not have that happen...if anything, yes, I'll go to Club 27 and personally make sure there isn't any more foul play...I will agree...Seraph either has Eagles just outside the crime scene waiting on anyone trying to get too close...or perhaps there are some...dirty cops he paid off..."

K Nine then looked at Bypass.

"...you should also know...that's what happened to Firebird...I had checked reports and people claimed he was caught by a member of Eagles named Rubber Man...nobody know where they took him after that..."

K Nine hoped that the dirty cops part wasn't true. After all, back in the Wings of Law days, it wasn't just heroes they stole credit from in terms of "doing good" on behalf of Castleburg.

Then Pandora spoke up about them touching her plants.

"...were guests here...mind your manners everyone..."

That's when K Nine thought her heard some sort of explosion...he then looked towards a nearby window.

"...I heard an explosion...", K Nine monotoned and walked towards said window...

Alien Angel

"Cool. Could use a break from going sky high. But yeah, I'll behave...and Angela?...that's actually cool. Yeah you can call me that", Alien Angel responded with a nod.

On that, she carefully got in the back seat of Quake's car...before she heard something loud in the sky.

"Whoa! Fireworks?! Where's that coming from?!", she suddenly said.

Getting back out suddenly, she quickly took to the air. Thankfully, she didn't have to go very high till she saw said fireworks. She then came back down to the group.

"Uh guys. Quick question...I think the fireworks is coming from your base Hero One. Is that some sort of signal?", she asked.

Grace looked down at the handkerchief in her hands, confused, before casually tossing it over her shoulder. With a flash of purple light, it was almost instantaneously sucked into a portal and was gone in seconds. She then regained her usual state of uncaring, haughtily lifting her chin in Pandora's direction. "If you have something to say, you might as well say it to the group," Grace said airily before her eyes wandered over to the police officer. She nodded her head stiffly as he spoke. One of her colleagues finally seemed to have developed a noggin. Good for him. "Alright. I should be able to teleport you into the vicinity- it'll help save some time with the commute, especially considering the rain and...general chaos. You ought to go, and Pandora and Patricia probably should as well, if they want to, at least. HERO One is a security nightmare; it'll be difficult moving more than two people tops without being pinned down by security. You can just hide behind a trashcan if you want. When you're finished with whatever..." Grace opened a portal to her side and reached inside, pulling out what appeared to be two gold rings. They were impeccably crafted and had a smooth quartz gem in its center. Grace tossed one to Patricia. "It's a nice mood ring, but it also has a GPS and communicator under the gemstone that links with its twin. Press down on it for a few seconds and I'll open a portal by your location. I got one for...never mind." Grace swiped her hand twice, opening two large, person-sized portals. "That should take you to Club 27. We'll meet back here most likely once you've found what you need to find. I think it's best that Chet comes with me...I have a sneaking suspicion he's going to have a negative reaction to corpses."

As Grace heard what Alpha had to say, she craned her head to take a look out the window. "Somebody set off the HERO One flare...shit. I'll take a look at it," Grace said, rubbing her temples once again, this time to try and de-stress herself. "I'm not even going to question how Rubber Man could beat Blake...there's a lot of information on the table here that I can't seem to piece together. There's something afoot..." Grace stepped towards her portal. "Stay safe," Grace said, to Patti in particular, before vanishing through the portal, expecting for Chet (or what is Brad?) to follow her.

She stepped out of the portal right in front of (former) Director Powers' office, her etiquette seeming to have gotten the better of her once again. She was surprised to find, though, that the door to Powers' office was off its hinges, instead laying on the ground in front of the doorway. "Stay quiet," Grace whispered to Chad, a portal discus forming in her hand as she crept into the room to see...Starbright. Somebody who she was certainly not expecting to see. "Woah..." Grace said, standing in the doorway, entirely starstruck for a solid couple seconds, before at least partially regaining her composure."Starbright!" Grace chirped. "What are you doing here...I mean, obviously you’re investigating, such a silly question..." Grace blushed. The rational, intelligent part of her brain was screaming and trying to take control of her body again, but the hormones were currently on blast. "I mean, you know, it’s just really weird seeing you! I’m Grace, I mean, Bypass, I mean, I’m a hero here..." Grace said, her face tinged with red. Her brain slowly managed to take control of her body once again, and she quickly pointed out, ”Might not be a good idea to put your feet on any of the Director’s stuff! He is very cautious about people in his office, you might accidentally set off-"

A loud blaring sound resonated through Powers’ office.

"...an alarm," Grace finished, obviously a few moments too late. "You’ve got to be fucking kidding…jeongmal jjajeungnanda,” she said snappily, her hands balled into frustrated fists as she quickly thought of a plan. "Alright...alright...I wasn’t expecting this, but we’ll figure it out. Just...stay here. It’s me they’re after, so that’s who they’ll come for.” Grace snapped her fingers quietly as she thought. "If you see any Wings of Law by themselves, take them out if you can. Otherwise, don’t do anything stupid,” Grace commanded. "Figure something out. I’ll try and draw them away..” And with that bit of very specific advice, Grace stepped back out into the hallway.

The alarm bells blared in the hallway as Grace quietly moved through the executive hallway. At the very least, she was fairly sure that the Wings did not have access to HERO One’s cameras, nor their other security mechanisms, so whatever Wings of Law where present were likely operating off of just sound, not off of HERO One’s security network. Grace made her way over to the broom closet (unaware of the hidden elevator inside) and found the circuit box she had guessed would be inside. She pried the box open and ran her finger down its center, causing the power on the fourteenth floor to black out.

Grace smirked as she stepped out into the now-dark hallway.

Brightside’s eyes widened as Tom spoke. “What?! You’re telling me that Bypass was here?! Shit…” She put the phone to her ear, but could hardly begin to utter a word before she heard a loud siren noise echo from the lower levels. She put her cell phone back in her pocket and instead grabbed the walkie-talkie that was strapped to her shoulder. “Got it,” she said after putting the walkie-talkie. “You two, with me. You were right, Spacewalker. Bypass set off an alarm that we’re pinpointing to the executive floor. 14th. Accompanied by Starbright and some other guy. Not sure what she’s doing, but it can’t be anything good. Let’s hurry before she can portal out,” Brightside said, walking rapidly over to the main elevator. “Let’s go!” she snapped again as she made her way over to the elevator.

The three (Brightside, Beardman, and of course Tom) descended awkwardly in the elevator to the 14th floor (evidently, awkward elevator rides were a theme of the day). When the elevator doors skidded open, they found a hall of pitch darkness. Brightside stepped out, mumbling something quickly into her walkie-talkie again before looking over at the other two. “She cut out the lights. Figures. Alright, let’s split up and find her. Spacewalker, head right. I’ll take the left flank with Beardman. Smoke them out. Back-up is on its way, I’ve been told, but let’s hope we don’t need it.” With that, Brightside flicked out a flashlight, and she, along with her bearded companion, headed left, towards Christina’s office, leaving Tom to navigate the right hallway.

Grace, who had backed herself into a small cranny, heard footsteps heading down the hallway, and saw a light approaching down the way. She took a breath and then opened a portal right in front of her. Her estimations in the dark were correct. Before he could even make a noise, Beardman was sucked into a portal like he had been flushed down a multi-dimensional toilet. Brightside turned to look for Grace, shining her flashlight around to face her, but Beardman promptly came crashing down on top of her, smooshing her to the ground with hardly more than a light thump. Grace smiled proudly at her handiwork, giving Beardman a gentle kick in the head to make sure he was out cold. He was.

Grace was about to head back to the office and report a completed expedition when, in her peripheral vision, she was something shiny flash behind her. She turned around swiftly, only to see darkness, a small shimmer of light from underneath Beardman’s massive body. Grace shrugged and turned out around again when she suddenly felt an arm wrap around her neck suddenly and yank her back, a crushing steel grip around her throat. She just managed to choke out a loud cry before being grabbed. She grasped at the arm, trying to pry herself free, but found that the arm was not made of flesh and bone. It was hard steel. Grace already knew who the voice belonged to before she heard him speak.

”Missed me, sweet pea?” Mr. Impressive asked in a manner that could only be described as frightening to the bones. His iron face (which had a strange red spot around his right eye, a bruise, perhaps?) contorted into a smile as he held Grace tightly against him with one arm, the other arm twirling a scarily-long dagger. ”Isn’t this lovely? Just the two of us, alone, in the dark...so scenic, guhuhuhu~” the deranged ‘hero’ laughed as he twirled the knife effortlessly. ”Let’s dance...”

Club 27, Kingsdale

Meanwhile, the other portal lead the other group of heroes out in an alleyway, conveniently behind a large dumpster, right near Club 27 in Kingsdale. The gorgeous Wings of Law club was currently surrounded by police tape and police cruisers, with a variety of officers on the scene, moving about and talking to each other. Ambulances were also parked nearby, and barricades had been created down the sides of the road. Whatever had happened, it was clearly a very big crime scene.

At the front of the investigation was an old friend of the gang, a newly-promoted Sergeant Bulldog. He was not ACTUALLY a bulldog, mind, but he certainly had the looks of one- he was short, stocky, and chubby, with a sagging face and large jaw that made him look like he could take a solid bite out of a human. He was holding a clipboard, barking orders at his men. “Let’s wrap up here and get moving! We know Aria is out there somewhere, probably choosing her next location, so we have to get a fucking move on before that happens! We need patrols all across the city. And somebody get a hold of K9!” Bulldog shook his head. “Fucking amateurs…”

As much as he liked the sentiment at the end of his livestream, Starbright could not depend on teenage girls on the internet to be his heroes. Having just kicked the hornets nest with that livestream, he needed something to make sure he leaves the tower alive. Teenage girls on the internet could not secure this for him and the support of that group was extremely volatile so he went for the one option he has depended on his whole life.

Putting on a fake deep voice to disguise his voice he called up multiple tabloids. Hi, you saw that Starbright livestream too right? Might I say he looked awfully dreamy in that and spoke with the voice of an angel... But thats beside my point. I just saw a large group of EAGLES members storm HERO. I think they are going to arrest him, or worse. He hasn't done anything wrong, this could be the story of the century." Of course it would be the story of the millenia, thought Starbright, but keeping a sense of humility was best to keep the call believable. He hung up the phone after that, all he could really do was hope that a hoard of paparazzi outside HERO would limit what EAGLES could do here. Now he just had to wait for Christina and Tom to come back.

It had been a while since they had came back. Starbright had grown very bored and leaned further back on Powers' seat while playing some silly phone game. "Starbright!" Thouroughly startled he almost fell out of his chair before quickly recovering, trying to play it cool. "Yes, yes, I was uh... investigating." Just now looking at the two he remembered both of them, the portal lady and the Bullet. Of course, he would remember the more marketable name above anything else. "Grace, I hadn't got your name earlier at Club 27 a while back. Don't worry about me though, I'm a very cautious person and when it comes to this office I know exactly what I doi..." The alarm went off.

"Shit, oh shit, oh shit, someone must have pulled the alarm." Starbright was deflecting from the fact it was obviously him. But then Grace suggested she go off on her own, "hang on! You aren't going out on your own like that." But by the time he managed to struggle out of his chair she was already gone and the hall was plunged into darkness. "Why didn't you stop her Bullet. Who knows whats out there, lets stick together and catch up with her."

Starbright blindly wandered around the hallway, following the sounds of thuds and portals. But no luck, he hadn't even come close to pinpointing her. But then, for a while... quiet. He had feared the worst. Had EAGLES taken out yet another hero? He didn't care anymore and posed with spectacular fashion, illuminating the hallway. But no luck, there was no sign of her anywhere aside from the unconcious bodies of Beardman and Brightside. After giving a good luck kick to the both to make sure they stayed out cold. "Ok Bullet, EAGLES are here at the 14th floor. We are going to have to fight our way out. If we can get out to the front we will be safe, but I don't feel right leaving that portal lady behind."

While the scanner examined every inch of Snake Pit's suit, Rumi was in the testing chamber, going through his arsenal of gadgets and weaponry. EAGLES already made it more than clear that they meant business. Powers was MIA, HERO One was in lockdown, and various people were under attack. In that case, Rumi would get serious too. Rumi slapped a wall panel, which slid open to reveal a liquid metal scanner. He plunged his hand into it and commanded, "Construct the 'OMNI', authorization code 'Amygdala'." Many panels began to slide open from the floor, walls, and ceiling, and swarms of nanobots crawled out of the openings. They also carried various gadgets, having been picked out by Rumi while he had gone through his arsenal. All the nanobots converged to form a humanoid suit of armor, with most of the gadgets either lining the body or being fitted inside it. A long scarf was wrapped around its neck, and had a few bracelets and watches along its forearms. A thick belt was wrapped around its waist. A thick, red visor and black mask covered its face. More nanobots came out of the wall and formed a similar mask around Rumi's head, which began linking with the OMNI. As the machine booted up, even more nanobots formed around Rumi, forming bracelets and anklets as well as lining his spine. Once the OMNI was finally booted up and the neural interface was complete, Rumi could move the OMNI as if it were his own body.

After exiting Polamor Inc, the OMNI made its way towards HERO One, where the signal flare had been fired. Rumi was not sure who had fired it, but he was not about to ignore the emergency flare. The OMNI fired wires out of the sides of its belt, with grapples that latched onto the sides of buildings and pulled him along in the air. If it was close to colliding with the building, it would simply turn its body and run along the side, leaping off once it reached the end of the wire and find another building to latch more wires onto. With this method, it did not take long before it found itself at HERO One, having grappled up to the roof of the building. The flare was long out, and whoever had been up here was also gone. Still, Rumi was determined to get into HERO One somehow, and he looked around to hopefully find an entrance. The elevator doors were a tempting option, but Rumi wasn't sure if anyone inside was watching, plus he wouldn't have a specific destination within the building. He didn't exactly want to go in blind, and looked around for something that would give him a clue. A quick look around revealed a nearby camera. Perfect.

The OMNI walked over to it and grabbed it with its left hand, sending some nanobots into it through microscopic holes in its casing, which began to form needles to stab into the camera's wiring and access the security feeds. From there, it only took a bit more hacking to access the rest of the security system the camera was connected to. Most of the feeds had few subjects worth noticing, though some of them were dark, presumably either because the lights were off, or the feeds themselves were down. There was also a tripped alarm on the 14th floor, and the perpetrators were... Starbright and Bypass? Rumi was curious as to what they were up to, and this gave him the opportunity to find out. The OMNI placed its fingers through the center of the doors, slowly pulling them apart. While doing so, Rumi pulled up a 3D map of the HERO One building and determined how far down he would have to go to reach the 14th floor. Once the doors were open, the OMNI jumped into the elevator shaft, firing a pair of wires into the ceiling so he could slow his descent. It didn't take long to reach the elevator itself, which was resting on the 14th floor. The fact that it was here meant Grace and Starbright were attracting visitors, and probably not the good kinds.

Rumi scanned the elevator, searching for any possible points of entry, and found an emergency exit door on the top, which Rumi promptly found a handle on and opened. The OMNI dropped in and began to pry open the doors again. The entire hall outside was dark. Rumi had the OMNI switch to night vision and continue onward, attempting to maintain at least a modicum of stealth. Rumi also pulled up a map of the 14th floor, based on his information about it. With the knowledge of the alarm's origins and estimated amount of time passed, Rumi decided to head left, determining it the be the most likely place for Grace to be. His deduction proved to be correct when he turned a corner and found Grace, having been caught by Mr. Impressive. Rumi was about to throw stealth out the window and charge at Mr. Impressive, but he held himself back and used Overclock to examine the situation and explore his possibilities. Even with the OMNI, Rumi wasn't sure it would be able to stand up to Mr. Impressive in a head on fight. Instead, Rumi decided to take a more cautious approach, using the darkness to his advantage and to hopefully close enough to use his gadgets to try to take him out, or at least free Grace from his clutches. Rumi would use the scarf on the OMNI to wrap around Mr. Impressive's dagger arm. It was created out of a strong yet lightweight and flexible material, and it had nanobots woven into it, allowing for easy manipulation even in midair.

Grace was a bit busy getting choked to pay attention to what was happening around her, but the mysterious scarf that had suddenly wrapped around Mr. Impressive's other arm was hard to ignore. It was made out of some kind of flexible material and was wrapped around Mr. Impressive's knife arm. It was impressive, of course, but not impressive enough to match up with Mr. Impressive. Mr. Impressive hardly looked in the direction that the scarf had come from before dropping the dagger and instead grabbing onto the scarf. Letting go of Grace for a brief moment, Mr. Impressive turned and, with a great show of strength, yanked the scarf and threw the OMNI like he was throwing the hammer in an Olympic event. There was a loud crunch as the OMNI hit the opposite wall. Mr. Impressive, with his free hand, grabbed his sword from his back and, with a swift blow, chopped the scarf off of his wrist. He sheathed the blade as he walked back, flipping the bird into the darkness as he made his way back over.

Grace knew that her best bet was to get the hell out of the area, but being suffocated by a literal metal man had not helped her physical condition, and she was wheezing on the ground as Mr. Impressive walked back over, rubbing his metal hands together as he approached. "Fuck off!" Grace cursed, opening a portal beneath herself to try and get out. Mr. Impressive had quick reflexes, though, and in a split second, he had scooped her out of the portal, like a bear snagging a salmon from a pond. "Naughty, naughty,” he chided, holding Grace by the shirt collar casually and wagging his finger with the other. ”Well, I can't have you portaling off now! Seraph has some very important questions to ask you.” Mr. Impressive, still holding Grace with one arm, reached into his breast pocket and pulled out a pair of handcuffs with a glowing blue strip that Grace recognized instantly. ”Now, don't struggle, or else.”

Needless to say, Grace struggled valiantly, but her bravery was about as effective as that of a fly fighting against a bull. Mr. Impressive easily grabbed her wrists and locked them together. Grace felt an instant wave of nausea fall over her as the metal touched her wrists, as her powers were pulled away from her. She knew just as well as anybody else that she was next to useless without her portals, and so she dejectedly slumped to the ground once Mr. Impressive had subdued her. The (much) older man chuckled, his voice bounding through the dark. ”Well, let's get a move on before somebody else comes to ruin the fun,” Mr. Impressive said flippantly, grabbing Grace once again like an old ragdoll, pulling her down the hallway away from both the OMNI along with Starbright and that Bullet guy, or whatever.

Moving further down the hallway, Mr. Impressive stopped for a moment as he heard the sounds of humming. ”Sounds like the generators are working. So smart. I lo~ve smart women, you know, guhuhu~” Mr. Impressive said with a chortle. looking at Grace, who was attempting to squirm out of Mr. Impressive's (literally) iron grip. ”Oh, don't fight it,” Mr. Impressive hissed as the humming grew louder.

Just as the generators kicked on, flooding the hallway with light again, all of the people in the hallway could see Mr. Impressive lean in and plant an unwanted kiss on a petrified Grace's lips.

Tom internally smirked to himself as Beardman and Brightside immediately believed the lie. Grace was probably safely tucked away somewhere secure, and this was also gonna stall any efforts that the WoL would make at trying to track her down. In many ways, it was the perfect plan. At least, it was the perfect plan until Tom heard the alarms blaring and Brightside told Tom that he was right - Grace was actually in the building. Shit. Tom's heart dropped. By sheer coincidence, it seemed like he had just foiled Grace's attempts to take down the EAGLES. So he had first betrayed her on live TV, and now he was directly contributing to her getting caught. Not a good day for their relationship, not at all.

Tom had to put on a smug face as he was apparently proved right. "Yep, let's go..." He said as he followed the two heroes over to the elevator, then back down to the 14th floor. When Brightside suggested that he go alone to find Grace instead of having to go with them, Tom was extremely relieved, but simply nodded. When the others were out of sight, Tom took off running down the corridor on the 14th floor, not even thinking about the fact that Grace would not be happy with him at all if he did end up finding her. He just had to get to her first, before anyone else. If he didn't, then she might be picked up, imprisoned and she'd be lost forever.

Tom couldn't believe how huge the 14th floor seemed when he was running around in a panic. He supposed that it was made worse because he was running around in the dark. He kept running into the wall as he sprinted along. He stopped to catch his breath before a corner was turned, and that's when he heard something. The first thing he heard was the generators getting louder, and then he heard a very familiar, sickening "guhuhu." Fuck. Mr Impressive was here. And it sounded like he was in a struggle with someone. He had probably used the dark to accost some poor secretary and do horrible things to her. Tom could definitely put the find Grace mission on hold for that. He stepped around the corner, intending to just split Impressive and the poor girl apart in the dark and then run off.

And then the lights turned back on.

He saw Grace's purple hair first, before she was blocked by Mr. Impressive's fat head which proceeded to plant a horrible kiss on Grace's lips. Tom froze for a moment. "GRACE!" He yelled, immediately becoming blinded with rage. He looked to one side, noticing a fire extinguisher on the wall, which he promptly ripped off the wall before flying at Mr. Impressive. His immediate thought was to let lose with the fire extinguisher, and he did, coating Impressive's head in the thick white foam inside. "Get the FUCK off her!" He yelled, before simply whacking Impressive in the head with it, clanging metal on metal.

Patricia caught the mood ring wordlessly, sliding it onto her right index finger. It turned black before her eyes, and she scowled. Mood rings weren’t real. It was just a communication device. She huffed anyways, and almost took off the ring before realizing that that would be a horrible idea. She supposed she was a bit nervous. Going to the place where you had allegedly murdered over 50 people to look at dead bodies with a cop, a grumpy British florist, and your girlfriend would make anyone nervous. But she didn’t need that damn ring announcing it to everyone.

“You too,” she told Grace, waving at the older woman before she stepped through the portal and presumably to HERO One. Patricia headed to the other portal, shaking only a tiny bit, before she remembered something important. “Wait, shit! You guys go on ahead, I’ve gotta get something.” She dashed back into the living room, going for her backpack, which was still sitting on the couch. Earbuds would probably be a necessity for Alpha and Pandora if Patricia used her powers- which she almost certainly would. Digging through her bag, she took out two fresh pairs of earbuds and let out a sigh of relief. Once she had them secure in her pocket, she went back into the kitchen and stepped through the portal.

It was drizzling. That was the first thing Patricia noticed as she stepped through the portal. “Seriously?” She scowled deeply, kicking at a puddle. This day couldn’t get worse. Upon further observation, Patricia could see that they were standing in an alleyway in Kingsdale. They weren’t quite next to Club 27, but near enough as to where she could see the police swarming around the club. Luckily, they couldn’t see her, as she was peeking over a dumpster, but Patricia made sure not to peek her head too far over the dumpster. The majority of them were wearing bulky headphones, she realized, not dissimilar to the ones Eliza owned. There were a few not wearing them on their ears, but most of the cops were.

She listened to Sergeant Bulldog prattle on from behind the dumpster, squatting down as soon as she realized he was within eyesight. She rolled her eyes as he mentioned her name, and glanced at Pandora and Alpha. She hated to admit it, but she didn’t really know what to do here. There was no way she was getting into that building unnoticed, and there was certainly no way she could get any information out of a cop without immediately getting dog-piled by ten of them.

“...Anyone got a plan?” she whispered to Alpha and Pandora, glancing at Club 27. “We need information. Usually I’d just charge in and hypnotize them all or pick one off to interrogate, but if I just charge in there, I’ll get arrested.” Patricia looked down at her feet sullenly. “You’re K9, right? Alpha? I think they’re looking for you. If you went over there, you could probably get them to tell you something. Just don’t sell us out.” She glared at him with suspicion. “Ideally, I’d like to get inside or maybe talk to a cop, but I’m not sure that’s a good idea. ...Thoughts?” She looked between Alpha and Pandora, waiting for an answer anxiously.

"Okay, good! I was worried." Jamie smiled and nodded at Joseph, before turning around in her seat and smiling wide at the new passenger in her car. Alien Angel would find herself sitting in one of the worst cars she had ever seen. Jamie’s smiling face was one of the attractions of the car, true, but the rest was truly horrible. Trash was crammed into most of the backseat, leaving only a little room for her to sit. The windows of the car were held together by badly applied duct tape, and there were dents in the car doors, evidently from crashing into things. Jamie started the car and it made a very bad growling noise, but it eventually roared to life properly.

“To Joseph’s house we go!” Jamie pulled onto the street and started to follow Joseph’s directions, driving carefully. But before she even made a right, Alien Angel jumped out of the car. Jamie did not notice that she had done this until Alien Angel came back, in which time she had kept driving. She jumped when she jumped back in, surprised.

Jamie blinked, confused. “Firewor… THE FLARE!” She had been at HERO for a long time, and the flare had only been used once during those seven years. Some kind of water villain had flooded the entire city- real fun one! But that had to be it. Their friends were calling for help! And Jamie would be damned if she would ignore that call for help.

“Hold on, we’re making a u-ie!” Before nearly anyone in the car could react, Jamie pulled a U-turn in a place she was definitely not supposed to make a U-turn in, slamming nearly everybody in the car into the windows. Honking from other cars cascaded down the road, but Jamie was already speeding in a direction she knew like the back of her hand. HERO One.

They got to the bridge when Jamie slowed, stopping the car to goggle. There were… protesters? She honked a couple times and they parted like the Red Sea, allowing her to speed past. But before she did, she glanced out the window, reading their signs. Free Starbright? “Starbright’s not free?” she wondered aloud, before pulling into a parking space in the building parking lot and stepping out.

“Come on. I’ll see if I can get the doorman to let you in through the elevator even though you’re not an employee, Angela.” With that, Jamie strolled into the building, laser-focused on finding her friends.

Chad gulped as he saw the portal appear next to Grace. He hadn't experienced it since his first time using it a week prior, but it was still a very, very uncomfortable experience when he did use those portals. The thought of simply running to HERO One crossed Chad's mind, but he shook the thought from his mind - even if it felt less uncomfortable, it wouldn't be very inconspicuous to run at a heavily fortified building.

"I think it's best that Chet comes with me...I have a sneaking suspicion he's going to have a negative reaction to corpses."

"Yeah, I don't like dead stuff. I've been to a few funerals, and the ones that were open casket I had to keep my eyes closed most of the time."

The others continued to talk among themselves for awhile, before Chad's brain mentally caught up with his mouth.

"Wait a minute, my name isn't Ch-"

But it was too late! Grace had already walked through her portal, vanishing somewhere at HERO One. Chad frowned beneath his mask - it seemed everyone was getting both his Hero name as well as his civilian one wrong. Well, he could always remind them sometime later - for now, finding Powers and putting Seraph in prison was much more important. Chad remembered to exhale completely, like Grace had instructed a week ago, and jumped after Grace.

The feeling wasn't nearly as unpleasant as last time, which Chad misattributed it to being better prepared for the sensation. He wasn't as prepared for coming out of the portal, however - he nearly fell onto the floor, having jumped into the portal rather than merely stepping through.

Chad had found himself in a room that he had never been in prior, but it definitely looked impressive. Kind of like the big boss rooms that all the good guys had in the movies.

"Starbright!"

Chad immediately twisted his neck, fast enough that it nearly elicited a cracking sound. Fumbling in the chair at the desk was the Hero Starbright!

"I can't believe it! It's Starbright!"

So that made much more sense! Grace had taken them to Starbright's office, to recruit the powerful hero's help! It made sense that someone as strong as Starbright had his own office at HERO One.

Chad's internal monologue had distracted him long enough to miss Grace identifying the true owner of the office, but even his thick skull didn't miss the incredible shrill sound going off around the office. Chad really didn't like loud noises - he attempted to cover his ears, but when his gloved hands hit the sides of his helmet, he grumbled uncomfortably.

"Shit, oh shit, oh shit, someone must have pulled the alarm."

Chad nodded. He couldn't see any obvious cameras in the office, but Seraph would have to be an idiot not to tap Starbright's Office if he had a chance.

"Figure something out. I’ll try and draw them away..”

Chad turned just in time to see Grace run down the hall. He hadn't really heard anything she'd said over the shrill sound of the alarm, but if Grace was acting as bait, then Chad would have to figure out where the Wings of Law were hiding, and if they knew where Powers-

"Why didn't you stop her Bullet. Who knows whats out there, lets stick together and catch up with her."

"I'm so sorry Mr. Starbright, sir! Sticking together is a great plan!"

Immediately, Chad relinquished control of the operation to the more experienced hero. Not only did Chad instantly give up on whatever task Grace assigned them, but he also didn't think of correcting Starbright for saying his name wrong.

Chad still felt overwhelmed by the alarm, so he focused on keeping close to the wall and trying to keep Stabright within his field of view. The shrill of the alarm remained just as loud, but there seemed to be an undertone that was now missing. Chad didn't have time to think about it before a bright light pierced the darkness. Starbright was posing in the middle of the hallway, standing over two unconscious bodies.

"Woah! I didn't even see you take these guys out! You're amazing Starbright!"

"Ok Bullet, EAGLES are here at the 14th floor. We are going to have to fight our way out. If we can get out to the front we will be safe, but I don't feel right leaving that portal lady behind."

"O-okay Starbright... I haven't gotten in many fights before, but I'll do my best to help!"

Chad had practiced fighting many times and had roughhoused and boxed with friends many times in the past. But when it came to all-out, no holds barred fighting? He only really did that at the Exams he did in this very building.

Chad looked down the hallway. At the end was an elevator! These unconscious guys must have come from there, before Starbright stopped them!

"I think these guys probably came from the elevator..."

Just as he finished speaking, the lights in the hallway came back on. Chad sighed in relief. Even with Starbright with him, the dark was pretty scary, especially when you could accidentally run through a window on the 14th floor. With the lights back on, it would be much easier to find Grace, find whatever they came here for, and get out of here.

Just as he finished that thought, however, the elevator opened. It seemed like the two unconscious people called in reinforcements.

"Agh, goddammit," Rumi cursed as the OMNI crashed against the wall, making a large indent in it before the OMNI fell onto the ground. Mr. Impressive's name was clearly not just for show. Fortunately, the damage from that impact wasn't very substantial. The OMNI's armor was still intact, as well as most of his gadgets. The scarf did get a small percentage of its length damaged though, presumably cut off. Getting back up, Rumi could see that Grace was still in a dire predicament, and still in Mr. Impresive's arms. Overclocking once again, Rumi looked around with the suit's cameras to survey the situation once more and see what he had available to work with. Getting a better look, especially now that the lights were on, he saw that Mr. Impressive had rendered Grace helpless with a pair of power-suppressing handcuffs, and he was taking full advantage of it by... kissing her. Tom was also there, attacking Mr. Impressive with a fire extinguisher, but that wasn't important. Rumi didn't often get overwhelmed by emotion, but he came awfully close to losing it at the sight. The only thing stopping him was the more rational side of his mind telling him to concentrate on maintaining Overclock. Going through the tech he was armed with, Rumi devised a move that would (hopefully) take down Mr. Impressive.

Deactivating Overclock, the OMNI placed a hand on its thigh, the nanobots shifting around to place a Darkbang grenade into his hand. Rumi reeled back the OMNI's arm, then pressed the button on it to arm it, and finally threw it towards Mr. Impressive, intending for it to land at his feet. Once there, it would suddenly bounce into the air with a pinging noise and then release a cloud of tiny black beads that would hover in the air, suspended by a magnetic field. The cloud allowed very little light to pass through it, as well as blocked sound from traveling through it. This would help prevent him from seeing what came next.

At the same time, the OMNI fired the grapples at the walls, aiming at the areas closest to Mr. Impressive and Grace. Once they were firmly locked in place, the OMNI pulled itself rapidly towards Mr. Impressive, feet-first. Once he was close enough, Rumi would also activate the pads on the bottom of the OMNI's feet to create additional force in the attack.

Grace's face was stark white as Mr. Impressive parted from her after what seemed like an eternity, her lips puckered as if she had just kissed a lime. Mr. Impressive's crazed, sickening eyes stared deeply into Grace's own, as Grace felt something slip away from her. Maybe it was her confidence- that certainly explained the deep pit in her chest, the strange void that had opened there. The girl shivered as Mr. Impressive laughed maniacally, and her fear only increased as Mr. Impressive continued to manhandle her. "That's only just the beginning,” he hissed with a grin that spelled pure evil. "I'm going to shred every last bit of dignity you have, slowly, but surely. Doesn't that sound fantastic? The whole world is going to remember you as-"

"GRACE!"

"Well, I mean, that's not wrong, but I was going for-"

"Get the FUCK off her!"

"Hey, who the hell do you think you are-” Mr. Impressive turned before being coated in a layer of foam, and he was then smacked across the face, causing him to let go of Grace and fall to the ground. As he fell, Grace saw Tom, wielding the (now destroyed) fire extinguisher, standing behind him. She stared up at him, still shellshocked by the recent series of events, but her heart began to quicken in pace as she saw Tom there. He had saved her! He took down Mr. Impressive! Grace felt a sense of relief, a sudden wave of solace, strike her suddenly. He hadn't betrayed HERO at all. He hadn't betrayed her. The realization gave her a fuzzy feeling inside, so much so that she didn't even notice Mr. Impressive get back up to his feet until he was standing before her again, now facing Tom. Grace quickly chirped, "Watch out!" but she was too late as Mr. Impressive rammed into Tom with his shoulder, hitting him with a powerful blow that could easily send him to the floor. Just then, though, another fighter entered the ring, that coming in the form of the man that tried to save Grace earlier. Now in the light, Grace could see that it was a robot of some sort, but her vision would soon be clouded by some sort of darkness grenade that the robot threw at Mr. Impressive. Grace covered her face with her hands, then realizing that one of her hands had come loose of the cuffs. "Oh," she said quietly, using her free hand to release her cuffed one, rubbing her wrists with a satisfied smirk. This is why going to the gym didn't pay. Could she have escaped on her own with big beefy arms? No. "Heh..." she said to herself, making a mental note to use this as an excuse the next time Patti tried to haul her off to the gym. If there was a next time.

Grace looked up to see the robot grappling towards Mr. Impressive, hitting him with a powerful two-legged kick. Mr. Impressive was sent flying back, cartwheeling through the air like a wheel having popped off its axis, before smacking the wall headfirst with a loud "guhu!” before falling to the ground with a ding. It sounded like a church bell sounding through the hallway, and Mr. Impressive crumpled up on the ground, seeming for all the world like he had been thoroughly defeated.

Grace turned towards the robot, hearing its greeting, and smiled softly. "Going to assume that's you, Rumi?" Grace asked, lifting her hand and knocking on the front of the robot's helmet. She frowned. "Robot? It's a really nice design, I have to admit. Thank you," she said, smiling up at what she assumed was the camera, before turning towards Tom, quickly rushing over to him. She looked at him, feeling a swirl of emotions envelop her as she quietly observed him. She then took a deep breath, and then swung her hand back and slapped him directly across the face.

"You deserve that for kissing Priestess," Grace chided him, like a scolding mother, but her demeanor changed almost immediately after, and she practically fell into him, putting her arms tightly around him, clasping him like pliers. "...but you saved me...oh, Tom, I'm sorry, I'm sorry for not believing you, I should've known you wouldn't join Seraph..." Grace said, almost bemoaningly, as she looked him with a thin, endearing smile. Her arms loosened from around his sides, but quickly linked up again, this time behind his neck. Grace then stood on her tippy-toes, her buttony nose nuzzling against Tom's as she kept her grip tight around him. "I'm going to assume," Grace began, speaking quietly, "that the kiss I saw on TV with Priestess wasn't real." She heard what sounded like fighting down the hallway, but uncharacteristically ignored it, staying closely tethered to Tom. "Do you...want a more genuine one, by any chance?" she asked shyly, batting her magenta eyes softly at Tom, a tenderness yet to be seen from Grace having reared its head in these circumstances.

Meanwhile, across the hall, the elevator swung open to reveal a man that appeared to look like Frankenstein. He was massive, taller than Chad, with ugly green skin and a rectangular head, several scars, and greasy black hair completing his profile. He was wearing a white lab coat and brown slacks, and his hands were adorned with what appeared to be metal gauntlets. This was Frank Einstein, hero name "The Shocker," but his unfortunate appearance and name had caused him to be renamed by most of the people of Castleburg and even HERO as "Frankenstein," a name Frankenstein (I mean, The Shocker) hated. Frankenstein cracked his gauntleted knuckles, lightning sparking around his fists as he looked at the duo of Chad and Starbright. He did not like Starbright one bit (they had a looooong history), and he was more than happy to do his job here. He didn't exactly LIKE EAGLES, but they did promise him a role in one of their newest movies, and plus, he could never say no to legally pounding Starbright to the dirt.

He lifted his hands, lightning sparking around them. "You have the right to remain...ah, fuck that," Frank said, before releasing an electric blast directly at Starbright. "Just die! How about that! Hah! Serves you right, you prettyboy piece of shit!"

Down in the lobby, Jamie only had to walk into the building before every eye was upon her. The assorted heroes inside were mostly the type that Jamie tended not to consort with, because most of those inside were wannabe celebrities that happened to have superpowers, and planned on using a HERO career to boost their own careers. As it happened, none of them were particularly good fighters, either, and so they all backed away, in fear for their lives and gorgeous faces. The only hero/EAGLE that didn't back away was a tall man that was known as The Admiral. He was middle-aged, only a few years away from retirement, with black hair and a bushy black mustache. He was dressed in an all-white admiral uniform that barely fit his massive, muscular physique, and he had an anchor on his back (it was his weapon of choice).

The Admiral removed his anchor, spinning it in his hand. "You're wanted, Quake," he said with a sneer. He never really liked Jamie, in part because her superior quaking powers overshadowed his signature Anchor Slam. He was the ORIGINAL destroyer of Castleburg, thank you very much! He rested the anchor on his shoulder. "That means I have to take you in. Get ready to face...THE ADMIRAL!"

With that triumphant declaration, The Admiral slammed his anchor into the ground, sending a wave of tremors at Jamie that were easily strong enough to throw her to the floor.

"Ok Bullet, we search this floor for that portal lady. She can't have gone far, she can only cross the world in a single step after all."

Starbright begun walking through the hallway with the Bullet before being stopped by some ugly green guy. Starbright had never seen this man before in his life and frankly looking at him, Starbright didn't care to know him.

The Shocker lifted his hands, lightning sparking around them. "You have the right to remain...ah, fuck that," Frank said, before releasing an electric blast directly at Starbright. "Just die! How about that! Hah! Serves you right, you prettyboy piece of shit!"

Starbright had only just dodged, having a small amount of energy hit his ankle. It burned, it really burned. Starbright dropped to the ground prone before a wide shit eating grin spread across his face. It was almost villainous in appearance. Starbright couldn't help it, when something like this happens it fill him with a deep satisfaction. This green dude clearly had it out for Starbright, when Starbright had completely forgotten him. He was like a fan but from the opposite end, consumed by a hatred for Starbright. It was great.

"So, ummm, like, who are you? I mean you don't look very memorable so I'm not surprised I don't know you. But still, what was your name?" Starbright waited for a response. 'Oh ok, The Shocker huh? Yeah still not ringing any bells but its still very helpful thank you. I'm always happy to meet a fan." The last part was said with his teeth clenched from another waved of pain.

Starbright begun backing off to stay out of range of the green abomination of a man.
'Bullet, quickly give me your phone and unlock it for me."
Then with a Starcraft pro level of 600 apm, Starbright logged into social media and started yet another stream. He had never trained, measured or practiced this skill, it had just developed naturally.

"The Shocker! Noooooo! I can't believe EAGLES got to you too... Try to remember, we were friends back in HERO. How could you not remember that? How could you just attack me like this?" Starbright was playing up the cameras, the people viewing the stream had already reached 10,000 in only a few seconds. "You know I am innocent Shocker. What crime have I, Starbright, committed to be hunted down by EAGLES, huh? Answer me that." There was a lot of dramatic flair to the last part. Emotions were high in the room, none of which were actually real.

To think he had only left town for a little over a week to check on business back home. Well, what was his home in place of his childhood homeland, with Morocco. He apparently had to go to the hospital and was kept overnight. While Sam had faith that he’d be alright, instinct prompted him to go check anyway. Thus, he took time off from both of his jobs, prompting HERO only to call if an absolute emergency. The man was fine, with minor fainting spells that were ‘blown out of proportion’. One thing was for sure, Morocco hadn’t changed since he moved out, even chastising him for pausing his life to come.

It was only a day ago though, he was watching the news and caught wind of what happened in Castleburg. It was unnerving for one of the first faces he saw to belong to Seraph, as when he had left, the Wings of Law had been discharged by the Director for their treachery. However, this seemed to be a continuation of an investigation by some organization he was involved with, named the ‘EAGLES’. The way they were spoken of was as if they were acting in the place of HERO.

They were seemed to have a mass murder on their hands, taking place in Club 27 which was in posession of the Wings. The face and name wanted for those murders, caught Samson in disbelief. The young one, Patricia, was the proposed perpetrator plastered with such a crime. None of this sat right in Sam’s gut, and Morocco knew it well. He essentially ordered Sam to get back there and do some of his own digging.

So, that was what he did. Something about the murders taking place in the Wings of Law’s own club, after having been discharged from HERO, was already off-putting. Then along with that to fall to Patricia, given her lineage, seemed to be a little too convenient to Seraph’s vendetta. What was more, how would she be able to murder all of those people, in the club owned by superhumans, and manage to evade capture?

Sam didn’t believe it, more so suspecting some sort of false incrimination or an entrapment. However, due to his absence, he could not confirm or deny any of this without going to the site himself to go over clues.

Thus, Kanati’s arms were crossed atop a rooftop, as the hunter had become accustomed when in the urban jungle. His eyes were on the club itself, studying and listening to the police officers present. He was debating how to approach the situation. Whether it would be wise to go down and talk to the officers about allowing him to go look. Though, with this EAGLES situation, he wasn’t sure as to what his HERO status was.

They were apparently on the lookout for Patricia and any associated with her, likely to be questioned about her whereabouts. Although having spent time around her in the past with the group, he wasn’t a particularly close friend. However, the nostalgia from Patricia’s doppelganger that lived in Sam’s memory obligated him to do something.

That was when he caught a familiar scent, as well as the sound of displaced air. Walking to the edge of the built structure just short of a skyscraper, he could see three bodies in the alleyway. The smell belonged to the one in question, and the others it took him a moment to identify. The sound was highly reminiscent of Bypass’ portals, which would explain their sudden appearance without his awareness earlier.

One was the recruit that was kidnapped with them when he was last here; Alpha was his name. Also likely K-Nine as referenced by the officers a moment ago. The fact that he was here with the girl, opposed to being with the policemen was an omen that things weren’t as they seemed. The other face he couldn’t quite identify by name, though he was giving the benefit of the doubt.

While she spoke, it was clear that she was trying to gain access to the crime scene as well. It may have been wiser to wait to see what they were trying to go in for, considering Sam did not know the facts of the situation, instinct drove him to movement. Taking notice of a fire escape on the opposite end of the alley, out of direct eyeshot from the club, Samson stepped off the building’s edge. Clawing his fingers, he only lightly marked the brick of the wall on his way down as he held to it to stabilize his descent.

His landing was drastically slowed by a grip to one end of the fire escape’s bottom stairwell. Eyes narrowing some on the trio, he landed on the pavement, across from them in the alley. His expression was stoic and his arms slowly crossed, as he was studying how they’d react to his sudden arrival.

That'd decide what should happen.

The next series of events went by in a flash for Tom. He felt the fire extinguisher slam into Mr. Impressive's head with a resounding clang, before another clang as Mr. Impressive hit the ground. He looked down at Grace, a giddy smile creeping over his face as he reached down to help her back to her feet. But before he could, he felt an incredible force hit him, and he went stumbling backwards before falling over. He probably should have guessed that hitting one of the most powerful Wings of Law members in the head with a fire extinguisher wasn't going to actually take him out for an extended period of time. But Tom was still determined, and he began to get himself up, when the space around Mr. Impressive and Grace suddenly became completely opaquely black.

"What the fuck?" Tom said, as he had to quickly move out of the way as Mr. Impressive came flying past him, hitting the wall with an almighty clang before falling silent. Good riddance. But what the hell just happened. Grace surely as hell couldn't do that. The fog cleared and Tom saw that a robot of some kind was standing there. Probably Rumi. How the hell he knew to come down to here, Tom didn't know. He probably had tracking implants put inside all of them when they were sleeping, or something. That seemed like the kind of thing Rumi would pull in the name of science and technology.

As he shakily stood up, he suddenly noticed that Grace was standing right in front of him. He was looking for the words to say, and began "Look, I-" before he was suddenly slapped around the face. "Ow." Tom said, holding his cheek. "Okay. I deserved that." Then Grace suddenly flew at him and hugged him super tight. "It's not your fault... It must have been awful seeing that on TV, it was a stupid idea trying to go undercover, I don't know what I was thinking..."

And then the mood changed, as Grace got on her tiptoes and got up really close to his face. Tom couldn't help but feel a slight blush fall over his cheeks as he looked into her eyes. "Of course it wasn't, why would I ever willingly kiss her anymore..." He said, before shaking his head slightly. "No need. I'll give you one." And then he did it. He pressed his lips gently to hers, his hands running through her purple hair. After what seemed like hours, but was probably only about 15 seconds or so, he pulled away, putting his forehead against Grace's and grinning.

"When this shit is all over, we should totally go out and get some ice cream or something. And this time it's, totally a date."

"Here in the flesh... is what I would say if I were actually here," Rumi said. "Yup, one of my best and personal favorites. Really proud of it aaaand you're leaving. Ok." After Grace left his loving embrace to have a loving reunion with Tom, Rumi had the OMNI get up and turn to examine Mr. Impressive. Rumi assumed the man was knocked out, and began looking for something to keep him down. He then spotted the power-suppressing handcuffs on the ground, the ones he had used on Grace. Rumi snatched them up and made his way over to Mr. Impressive, cuffing him. The man's skin then went back to a normal human pigment, his powers sealed. Rumi nodded, satisfied, and proceeded to gather the unconscious bodies of the EAGLES group together. He then tossed a Tar Bomb onto the trio, which covered them in the hardened Tar substance and trapped them together.

His work done, the OMNI made his way back to Grace and Tom, who were busy having a makeout session. Rumi had it lean against the wall, elbow propping him up and hand on its hip. Fortunately, Rumi didn't have to wait long, as they soon separated and began to make plans for a date. Rumi cleared his throat loudly and deliberately, and proceeded to say, "I sure love being a third wheel as much as the next guy, but maybe we should be dealing with the EAGLES crisis right now." As if on cue, a small tremor reached the group from below, shaking the floor slightly before just as quickly disappearing. At the same time, there were sounds of electricity being flung around and distant yelling. "You guys can deal with that, and I can take..." Rumi said as he accessed HERO One's security feeds, looking for signs of conflict. He quickly found that the lobby was under attack, with Jamie facing the Admiral. "The lobby, apparently," Rumi concluded. "Grace, think you can portal me down there?"

Alpha / K Nine

One event led to another and now K Nine found himself in an alleyway near Club 27. But it seemed simple enough. They needed information on what was going on around the crime scene and anything that was discovered during the investigation. Or perhaps even better, gain access to the crime scene itself so they could perhaps find something that the CPD may have missed.

K Nine didn't like the thought of entering the crime scene though. For one, they weren't exactly prepared for it. Usually you'd have to wear plastic gloves and more depending on what kind of crime scene it is. If they were discovered, someone could easily say that they contaminated the crime scene and that any evidence that the CPD discovered already could be "void".

"...as much as I want to investigate the scene, that could be tricky...if we get caught, someone perhaps close to Seraph could say that we contaminated the crime scene...and any evidence that CPD found either "for"...or "against" your favor would be null...I'll talk to Bulldog...were on good terms...he may get suspicious though that I'm suddenly here...I last told dispatch that I was following a lead...he might think I'm still at Pandora's...", K Nine whispered but monotone.

Then he noted someone at the opposite end of the alley...Kanati.

"...we have company...Kanati...fill him in...I'm going to talk to Bulldog...", K Nine monotoned.

Briefly waving at him then pointing behind the dumpster where Aria and Pandora were, he then went around it towards Club 27 and Bulldog...

Alien Angel

Alien Angel had to admit...after sitting in Quake's car, in her back seat with all that trash...plus her driving...she regretted saying that she got tired of flying.

Still, after her explanation, she know now wasn't the time to be gentle. Hero One was about to be a battleground from the sound of it.

Then, she noted all the protestors...and the signs...Starbright?

"...oh THAT goofball? Well his songs aren't ALL bad but...oh don't tell me he's using social media to help...if he is, it's the SMARTEST thing he's ever done", Alien Angel said with a smirk on her face.

She then followed the duo into Hero One, staying near Quake in case anyone "friendly" asked about her presence.

But apparently, someone named "The Admiral" wasn't friendly.

"Heads up guys!", Alien Angel warned as The Admiral launched his attack.

She immediately went airborne as much as the inside area could to avoid what looked liked a ground based shockwave but also moved sideways to avoid it all together if it was also a gust of wind.

"...think your the first super powered person I know that fights with an anchor. Nice to meet you popeye", Alien Angel mocked.

She then flew right at him but stopped just shy of him then started to circle him from his right to see what kind of move he made. From the looks of it already though, this guy fought similar to Quake but just needed the big anchor to cause the tremors. She'll rely on her flight and agility to avoid any attacks he tried on her.

Worse come to worse though, she'll bear her clawed hands and feet and start dealing serious damage if he didn't know when to quit.
