The Night Before

The night had fallen upon them quietly. After eating the delicious supper Kenia had prepared for them, Zephyrin had snuck off to bathe in a stream not too far away from where they had set up camp. She had cautiously scanned her surroundings to ensure there were no prying eyes - the moth fairy's, specifically - before stripping herself bare until she was essentially one with nature. As she dipped herself into the placid water, the coolness of it felt refreshing against her bare skin, a mellow harmony amidst the fragrant flowers.

Zephyrin looked up at the moon and sighed. Such sighs were more frequent lately as she found herself thinking more about the future. Her mind wandered, and Bowyn's questions suddenly rang in her head.

“You don’t care about the rebellion? What about the winter fae stolen and sold into slavery in the black market? The Dark Elves and their reign of torment and slaughter? The destruction of forests, the rising tides of poverty and suffering? How does all that sit with you, Zephyrin? All of it caused by the lich, fueled by him."

Frankly, she didn't care at all. So then, what was this upsetting feeling tugging at her heartstrings?

Zephyrin splashed water onto her face, breaking herself away from those unwelcome thoughts. She began to wash herself, starting with her hair, untangling it gently with her delicate fingertips. She thoroughly washed away all the grime that concealed her luster, taking her precious time as she hummed a tune and watched in light amusement as the pixies came out to play.

As soon as she was done, she felt better and much more like herself. Her silver hair, illuminated by the moonlight, looked as soft as silk and fell over her shoulders like the finest cloak. The strands fell down her neck to her collarbones, her supple skin so fair it seemed carved from ice. When she caught a glimpse of herself in the water's surface, Zephyrin raised her chin smugly and smiled to herself. 'Twas a shame there was not a single mirror around for her to admire herself in. The hazy reflection did not do her beauty any justice.

Realizing that it was almost her turn for watch-duty, Zephyrin quickly got out of the water. In that instant, a layer of ice began to wrap itself around her dainty body, covering her female bits like a makeshift undergarment made out of frost. It was quite a sight. She had simply refused to put on her soiled clothes right after such a therapeutic bath. She'd at least wait until she was fully dry.

When Zephyrin made it back to camp, Bowyn was sleeping so soundly it seemed a shame to wake him. "Hey, wake up and take my shift. A defenseless lady shouldn't be on watch duty!" said Zephyrin nonetheless, nudging Bowyn's cheek with her damp toes. The male fairy did not awaken. Fed up with him sleeping so obstinately, Zephyrin was about to raise her voice again, but then she stopped. Suddenly, she crouched down and examined his features scrupulously, stroking her chin as she studied every inch of his face. He had smooth and fair skin, nice eyelashes and a beautiful pair of dark blue horns. 'Hah.. He's quite endearing when he's not being a grumpy old man.' Zephyrin mused.

"Fine, I will let you sleep." She whispered, then stood up and tiptoed away.

The Next Day

Zephyrin felt spritely this morning. The thought of reaching the port filled her with so much excitement that she even woke herself up early in order to avoid getting left behind. If they continued to travel at this pace, then perhaps it would only take them another day.

The journey had been a lot more lively now that Arwen was around. Zephyrin was glad that she was no longer alone with two brooding rebels. She even proudly wore the floral crown Arwen had given her, placing it on top of the jewels that already decorated her head.

Zephyrin stifled a laugh as she watched Bowyn wear a floral crown of his own. It was quite a contrast to his serious demeanor, but he at least looked to be in a better mood today. He even seemed more eager to wear the crown than Boreas, who was not so amused by it.

To her delight, Kenia had decided to provide them with lunch. Arwen had even offered some lalaberries, or lalas, as she had referred to them. Perhaps elves liked to call them that. However, Zephyrin couldn't help but notice that something about Arwen was.. different.

"Thank you, Kenia! Oh, I'll take some of those lalaberries, too!" She chimed.

Zephyrin began to munch on her food, tuning out the others as they talked among themselves. After all, eating was much more important than talking. Who knows when they might decide to abandon her, just as they have done with the moth fairy? When that happens, she would have to go back to foraging her own food.

Now that she was used to company, Zephyrin frowned at the thought of being left behind to fend for herself. She shrugged, brushing those thoughts aside as she popped the last lalaberry into her mouth.

Belladonna

Time: Afternoon, Day 2
Location: Cave
Interaction: @princess Malachi | @13org Myra | @helo Valok | @Eviledd1984 O'ner

Belle had slept lightly, having jumped at the slightest of noises. She was farther from the others in her makeshift tent. She’d taken sticks and tied them together with vines. Next, she found moss and spread it out on the bottom. She’d taken big leaves and tied them around her sticks. It gave her privacy and some comfort not to sleep on the bare ground. Belle stared at the cave around her with a sigh. She’d slept on worse before so this wasn’t awful. Still, she had been hcilly, and wished they could have built a fire. She was close to the coast and hopefully finding Torvi and Bowyn. She couldn’t wait to find them again and wondered why the warmth inside of her felt confusing.

Once the others were awake, they had started their journey again. Belle followed them quietly, not making conversation. She glanced at the spring and wished she could play with the water. She wanted to practice her magic, but couldn't, and it frustrated her. She remained silent to allow the others to finish before speaking herself. She bent down in order to procrastinate replying. With a sigh, she began scooping water and using it to wash her face a little. Next, she began drinking it and assessed it in her hands. It was clean, she could tell. It was also refreshingly cold. She sighed as she finished and stood up. She glanced at the other two to reply.

”Same as Malachi.” Her response was short and sweet. Her eyes scanned the woods as she studied everything. The back of her mind tugged at a distant memory she refused to feed into. She sat down briefly near the creek and watched the fish swimming beneath the water’s surface. She sighed to hide her irritation.

Lucia

Time: Afternoon
Location: Lucia’s Residence > Surfside Cafe
Interaction: @helo Leon

When Leon mentioned going into town after needing to repair the fira, she nodded in agreement. There were cafes all over the beach. She particularly enjoyed the Surfside Café. It had the most delicious sandwiches in Avalia. She’d order them every time she’d come here with her parents. She grinned with excitement and jumped up quickly. The move may have surprised Leon and taken him aback. She was brimming with unbound energy and excitement now. Her eyes were shining with joy as she turned to face him. ”Your wish is my command! I know the perfect spot!” She grabbed her staff and spun it with glee. ”Oh, you’ll love this place! Just don’t tinker with anything alright? We don’t know who else is here and what side they may be on. You can do this okay? I believe in you!” Lucia patted his back and then turned to face the house. Elleta was leaning out the window, having been listening. ”We’re going to the Surfside Café. I’ll bring you leftovers!”

Twenty minutes later, they were now dining at the Surfside Café. It was a moderately pricey Cafe, mainly adorned with fish on the menu. It had indoor seating and outdoor, which was what Lucy chose. She could survey the beach and everyone else on it and know when to duck in case trouble lurked. The outdoor seating had umbrellas if anyone needed them, and was adorned with flowers in vases at every table. The colors were beachy: mainly blues, green and tan hues. It was perfect to Lucia. There were other Avalians there, though not too many that it didn't bother Lucy. They sat away from others to be safe and were in the shade too. She held open her menu and pretended to be examining it. With the waiter gone, she began whispering to Leon what the items were on the menu. She helped him pick out something if he needed it, and then ordered for herself.

She held her staff beside her and had scowled at anyone who came near it. She adjusted her quiver of arrows on her back and smiled at him. ”So. Are you excited to meet the others?” She began tapping her fingers on the table and glanced around. She saw a tall male elf on the beach along with two others farther down. She wondered if they were allies or foes, but didn’t bother to question it more. Right now, her responsibility was protecting Leon. She’d have to assess everyone before proceeding.

Lucia smiled calmly at Leon. ”I have faith that you can fix the fira later, by the way. We’ll be better off too once the rest of the family joins us.” She was speaking in code in case there were any goes around. ”Elle will know who to look for; but don’t tell her I told you this, she’s a really old woman. She seems to know too many people.” She giggled and brought her finger to her lips, as if having dropped juicy gossip that could land her in hot water. ”That’s between you and me!” She turned to find the waiter approaching with their food. She gasped with excitement and began digging into her food abruptly. She glanced at Leon as she ate her sandwich and pasta, along with some fruit on the side. It was safe to say the girl had an appetite. ”Do you like your meal?” She inquired, tilting her head to one side after chewing and swallowing her food. The food was so delicious. ”We can search for others after this too. I wonder who those people are on the beach. We can assess them before proceeding to join them. How does that sound? She continued eating while waiting for his response.

Ezeri was quiet as she travelled with them and also helped add to Cade’s food to supply the group with dinner. The night had been peaceful and as had the morning. She had taken a shift watching over during the night as well. Eventually, they came upon a brook and there was a beautiful creature drinking from it. She had never seen one before, but she could tell it seemed rather docile. Ezeri began to slowly walk around Cade as she turned back to look at the group with her eyes beginning to glow, making a signal to stop as she moved closer to the unicorn. She walked around ten feet from the creature and crouched down to seem smaller and less harmful.

The creature looked into her eyes and whickered at her, then lowered its head allowing her to come closer. She had successfully charmed this majestic creature but it wasn’t under her control yet. Once Ezeri had walked over to it, she touched its forehead. Her hand had placed a small mark under its horn before fading.

”Okay, now you can come over,” She told everyone. Ezeri gently stroked the unicorn’s mane as she started speaking, ”We don’t have anything like this where I come from. I come from a place known as The Nine Hells of Baator; It’s mostly filled with foul creatures, devils, and demons. When demons decide to attack, they come through the River of Styx which connects The Hells to the Abyss. This plane is similar to the one my home away from home but with more sentient life.“She told them, becoming aware that she was talking a lot suddenly and added a bit nervously, ”Sorry. I don’t normally have many to talk to. I’ve spent most of my life on my own other than Mel and Anzu.”

Time: Afternoon
Location: The Pretty Flower
Interactions: @princess

Kyran emerged from the other room in a new outfit, including a hat he had cut holes in for his ears, hearing Vereon call him to come out and see something. He came out and watched as Vereon lead Risa out the door. A glimpse movement outside the window made Kyran move over to it and peek behind the curtain to see Helio outside on a throne. He gritted his teeth let out a small growl as his sense of danger peaked and his hair stood up pinning his ears back. He was sitting on bloodied hands; it was revolting.

Kyran came down the stairs. The room was more crowded than he expected and Risa was touching the hands of an enormous orc. He moved over to take her hands and pull her close.

“We need to sneak out and leave as soon as possible. I don’t want to be here longer than needed. I can feel myself clouding up which is the same thing that happened outside Roshmi.” He told Risa and then looked her up and down, both surprised by and enjoying her new attire, ”Woah, you look… great. The socks with straps have a nice appeal.”He smirked, perking his ears up.

Kyran shook his head and grabbed Risa’s hand, pulling her towards the backdoor of the bar. He was getting her out of here as soon as possible and did not care for goodbyes to the others, giving them a simple wave as they moved out the door. He immediately began walking her around the backway, pulling her hood over her head more as they did. They arrived at the amora dock. Not many people were boarding onto as it was a special order one-way trip to River Port. It would just be them and about three merchants. He put his arm around Risa and guided her to a seat. Kyran then placed his lance down and sat beside her, lying her head onto his lap, stroking her hair. “We will make things right; this will not be our normal any longer.”

Time: Afternoon
Location: South beach, River Port

Ambiance: Crashing waves

Nur bit her lip trying not to laugh. The man collided with her parasol and he tumbled across the beach dramatically. You would almost think he'd been hit by something much heavier. Although he was going pretty fast, remarkably so, considering he'd been running in wet sand. Curious...

She shrugged, not thinking too much of it at the moment. She walked up to him. Luckily her parasol of death hadn't killed him or otherwise disfigured him, that would have been a real shame. Nur listened to him fumble with words, he even offered to buy her a new parasol. Well would you look at that. She was sure they were going to get along just great. Now to seal the deal.

"I am so sorry, truly there is no need" Nur answered, declining his offer to buy her a new parasol. She despised that thing anyway, barely ever used it. It was a gift of some sort of noblewoman Haldir introduced her to. A judgmental old lady who never really liked Nur being with Haldir, taking every opportunity to subtly make that apparent.

"Let me help you up.." She leaned in closer, wanting to offer him a hand, however her feet miraculously gave out from under her. Nur tumbled forward and landed with her hands on the mans chest. At this point she was supposed to retreat back and blush nervously, only she'd fallen a bit out of character. She looked up at him, right into his ruby red eyes.
"I'm sorry, I have weak ankles" She smiled a cheeky smile, looking at his face. He had strong masculine features, unsual for an elf, a pronounced brow, full lips, deepset eyes. Handsome
The waves crashed behind them, the breeze played with a strand of hair which had come loose from her braid. They were close enough that it could tickle his cheek.

His name was Orland, the cousin of Darius. Why did he tell her the name of his cousin first? Presumably a famous elven poet, she'd never heard of. Another weird thing about him. He was probably lying. She got up and brushed some sand of her hands, and dress. Nur glanced over her shoulders, watching the guards with a pretend worried look on her features. She then turned to Orland, smiling at him.
"My apologies for interrupting your afternoon stroll, I should be going now."

Let's see if Orland would catch the bait.

Time: Afternoon

Valok wondered on the point of Malachi’s seemingly unimportant questions, the most recent was about where they were from. He wasn’t sure what the value in that information could be but listened to the other’s answers. Belladonna’s response was clipped and told nothing outright, she was very secretive, which meant she was likely hiding something. Mathias’s answer painted a picture that was hard for him to imagine. The description of the man’s home and a dish made by his mother gave a warm feeling. It also gave another feeling, one that was bitter, and he couldn’t name the feeling. Valok felt as if something lacked in his life, something that was both taken and that he had never actually had. He wondered why he felt both happy to hear the man share his lovely memory and sad to have none of his own to share at the same time.

”Your village sounds very nice, such a wonderful meal must have been a grand treat.” He said nodding to Mathias, with a small smile.

”I was forged in an academy in the forests of Daka. Grimmrots, a training camp, one of the toughest ones, only the strongest of my kind can survive it.” Valok spoke with a pride ingrained into him. Many weaker children died there, they could not survive as he had, and to survive it made one strong, a suitable warrior.

”From there I trained in The Pits, a right of passage, to survive there is to become a man. I was once nearly gored by a beastman with great horns.” Valok continued, he even lifted his shirt to show the jagged scar left by horns across his torso. This story and the scar that came with it had impressed many of the soldiers in his battalion. He wondered if light elves were equally proud to share tales of grand scars and deadly battles.

Leon tried not to fiddle with the fake ears too much, but every few minutes he still scratched at them. He couldn’t help it, they were just a bit itchy and he occasionally flicked at the tip of one of them. It was way weird to have to need pointy ears just to go out in public, to try act as if he was an elf and that everything he was looking at wasn’t full of things he’d never seen before. When it came to ordering food he just pointed to a random thing on the menu and ate that, he wasn’t picky and everything he’d tried so far was amazing. His food today was a fish he’d never heard of and strange looking but great tasting vegetables. It was better than food on Earth, even when he’d eaten the finely prepared dishes his parent’s chef had made. Back home real food was a luxury only the wealthy could afford. After leaving home he’d settled for the tasteless but nutrient filled food cubes. Quick and easy meals, which left more time for work, and more productive society, but were far from an enjoyable experience.

“This is way thrill, lightyears better than food cubes.” He said making a face at the thought of going back to eating something so bland and tasteless. He liked eating outdoors in the sun, there was a magnificent view of the beach, and the air was clean and just a bit cool and salty.

Over on the beach there was a stunning woman literally throwing herself onto the chest of a shirtless hunk. Some things, it seemed, didn’t change much no matter the world, and the beach here seemed exactly like the ones back on Earth, only cleaner. He’d only ever visited the beach once as a kid, family vacation, and his parents hadn’t let him do much. That had been a boring waste of a good time, this time would be more fun, he wouldn’t let the beach go to waste. Leon raised an eyebrow at the scowling face Lucia made as a passerby paused to admire the staff she always carried with her.

“We are never going to make friends if you keep mean muggin everyone who walks by. I'm more than ready to mingle with the locals, or go swimming, or do you surf here?” Leon leaned back in the chair and tossed a piece of fruit up in the air and into his mouth. The people on the beach didn’t look devious in the least, and there were certainly no evil skeletons walking around either. He was pretty sure he’d notice that.

“So how old is old Elle anyway? Are elves immortal?” He whispered a bit surprised that she had described the other elf as an old woman. She didn’t look that old after all, and he realized he’d never seen any real old looking elves.

Time: Afternoon Day 2
Location: Forest
Interactions: @13org Ayita @hide on mana Kuroi @Dezuel Baraian
Mentions:

Torvi had found it quite pathetic how their foe had pleaded for his life. Dying in battle was an honor and should die proudly, not sniveling and begging for their life. She had almost wanted to crush him just to shut him up, but at the same time she knew learning any information was beneficial so she refrained. Unfortunately it seemed someone else had been watching him and didn’t want him revealing any secrets. What Torvi did pick up on, however, was the fact that the spy was a woman. This was definitely something to keep in mind.

Baraian was right, they needed out of the sewer and needed rest as soon as possible. She also needed to bandage her arm before rot set in and she needed to lose the arm. So out of the sewer they went, embracing the fresh air and heading for the treeline. Torvi paused for a brief moment, however, as the earth seemed to speak to her in a way she’d felt once before. The same way when she first met Bowyn. She closed her eyes and connected with the vibrations, briefly seeing that undead army that had caused the pair to head to Roshmi in the first place. Her heart broke a little as she remembered the undead vision of Siiri and the woman Bowyn knew. Part of her longed to turn around and find her sister, to put her to rest, but the reasonable part of her won out as she moved again with the group.

They made it into the forest and were looking for a place to rest when she stopped everyone. She felt someone approaching and she’d readied herself to protect her exhausted companions. What approached, however, was a man driving a cart. He’d stopped and greeted them, being a little wary of the group, but friendly nonetheless. Because of his friendliness Torvi had an idea cross her mind. While it likely wasn’t the safest of plans, at least it would keep them moving while they rested. She’d glanced at her weary companions before turning back to the man and offering a large sum of amas she’d swiped from some of the wealthy at the ball in exchange for him taking them up the coast on his cart. At the sight of the money the man eagerly accepted the offer and Torvi reassured her companions that she’d remain awake as they rested to ensure that the man didn’t betray them. While she, too, was exhausted, she knew she could keep herself awake for at least a little longer. Too many times back home did she endure sleepless nights filled with plenty of commotion. She would take her turn to rest once the others rested first.

It was now afternoon of the next day and after some talk with the man driving the cart, a lion demi-human by the name of Koto, Torvi had discovered that this man was actually heading to the port to join the rebellion. He’d been finding out what he could about the rebellion for a while now, but it was Risa’s words that moved him into action. He couldn’t sit by idly any longer, he just had to do something. This made Torvi feel a little more comfortable with him, but to say she truly trusted anyone in the group would be a lie. Trust was not an easy thing when you were in a world that wanted humans dead.

”Do any of you think that what the creature in the sewer said was true or do you think he was full of lies?” She finally asked the group once everyone seemed well rested and fed. She was rebandaging her would with some clean cloth Koto had given her, trying her best to keep it clean. She was curious on what the others thought about the potential of there being a spy.

Vaeril had let Darius go enjoy himself and stood upon the beach looking towards two beings who were sitting on the deck of a Cafe. He was interested in the staff that the elven girl had and he could feel the very familiar magic coming from it. After a moment of watching her pull it closer to her and adjust her quiver, he decided he would go and speak to them himself. Vaeril made his way to the deck where they were sitting.

“Hello there, My name is Vaeril, I couldn’t help but notice your staff,” He said to the elven girl. “That staff is one I could never forget as I had made it myself. Would you mind letting me know where and how you came to own it?” The fact that he knew the past owner of the staff and was very close to them only brought more curiosity upon him. The importance of this staff was immeasurable to him and he hoped that she would not just lie to him.

Risa smiled warmly at Kyran when he joined her, blushing at his compliment, "Oh you look so dashing, Kyran."She kissed his cheek and went to protest when he grabbed her hand and began pulling her out right away, "But wait. We can't just leave everyone to deal with Helio. What do we-"

"We'll try to keep him under control. We have enough of us here and I'll try to discreetly alert others on our side. Just go before he finds ye here."Vereon urged, coming over to place the amora tickets in her hands and pull a satchel over her shoulder with some snacks, her amas, and her other small various belongings. She hugged him hastily and waved to the others. Gorgon waved enthusiastically back, his eyes tearing up.

They left out the back and snuck through the backways of the plaza. Once they had reached the amora dock, Risa stared up at the huge ship in awe. It had been so long since she had been one and they were always so mesmerizing to look at with their size. She watched about three others walked over the dock and boarded the ship. Risa hoped they weren't troublesome folk. She swallowed and moved over to hand her tickets to the fairy working there, keeping her head low as she did. There were wooden benches in rows upon the ship for the passengers to sit. Once she got onto the amora, Kyran guided her to a seat and sat down. She laid down on his lap, laying on her side on the bench, and took his free hand in hers to hold it as he was petting her hair.

“We will make things right; this will not be our normal any longer.”

Risa turned her head to look up at him. She hoped he was right. She smiled and patted his hand gently, "I know."

Nur and Darius

Time: Afternoon
Location: South beach, River Port
Interactions: Darius @FunnyGuy and Nur @Dreamingflowers
Ambiance: Crashing waves

Nur had performed her damsel in distress routine fairly well aaaaaaand Darius fell right into her ruse. He scowled toward the dark elven guards as Nur got herself up to leave and then got up off the sand to follow her.

"Hey! I just can't let you on your way after what I did. How about we get a bite to eat. I'll pay. I insist." Darius' eyes shift to where the guards stood in the distance before returning to her seriously.

The succubus smirked to herself.
This was never getting old, and she didn’t even have to use her power. Dinner always tasted better when it was paid for by someone else.

“That would be perfect.” She walked back to where the guards were standing, retrieving her sandals. Nur pretended they weren’t there at all. It was easy as they barely moved or spoke. She sat down on a stone ledge, lifting her feet to fasten the straps of her shoes.

All the while, Darius had moved to retrieve his jacket from the sands of the beach. He was sure he would be limited on where they could go if he was not dressed appropriately. He whipped his jacket in the breeze a few times to get most of the sand off before placing it on and walking over to Nur.

“Where do you want to go?” Nur asked, hoping there would be at least one restaurant in River Port that served something other than fish. She could really go for a plate of lucky dips with forest strawberries. Unfortunately, with this being a port town, the first recommendation was always….

"You like seafood?" He asked innocently.

Nur’s face contorted in disgust, her upper lip pulled up and her eyes narrowed slightly.. Anything with scales just made her skin crawl. Most things related to the sea were still foreign to her. This visit to River Port was only the fourth time she’d actually seen and heard the ocean. It was clearly not her food of choice, without her actually having answered. Darius failed to hold back a smile as he found her "answer" quite humorous.

"Well ummm…" He looked to the guards as he placed his hand to his chin as he feigned some very deep thinking. "Ooh! I know just the place!" He held out his hand for her to take. "I hear it's the best place in town. It's called Lost… in the Sauce." Darius said almost dramatically.

“That sounds like a terrible place to eat” Nur said, smiling and shaking her head. She walked up to his side but didn’t take his hand. Instead, she snaked her arm around his, tugging him along with her. Darius had raised his eyebrows at the motion, who would he be to complain about a beautiful woman being on his arm? They started at a leisure pace back towards the town.

"Just wait till we get there. Trust me, it's gonna be good… Oh wait, I never caught your name!" The fact hadn't even crossed his mind.

What a fool.

"It smells."

Pyria was doing that dreadful thing where she spoke so unpleasantly through gritted teeth. Helio rolled his eyes over to glance once more at her. "Like what? Good?"

"Horrid."She snapped with a glare, "The throne."

"It really does smell bad, Helio. Look at them all."Lamaia agreed gently and gestured to a couple of dark elves stationed near them holding their noses.

"You all don't enjoy the stench of death?"Helio asked in dismay and genuine surprise, craning his head to acknowledge the others.

They stared at him blankly.

"Ugh. Fine. I have a solution."He rolled his wrist in a circle as a couple of flowers began to grow along the area. For a moment the smell improved and everyone sighed with relief.

Then the flowers started to instantly wilt. Everyone groaned.

"Oh yeah. Sorry. Forgot that doesn't quite work anymore."Helio said with a sigh and shrugged

"I got it."Lamaia said and focused her energy on reviving the flowers, and growing lots more than the sad handful Helio had produced, "Why don't we go sit in the hall or something? Why out here anyway? What if it rains?"

Pyria grumbled immediately under her breath in reaction to that question, "If it starts to fucking rain, I swear..."

"We can later. I'm waiting for something."Helio replied impatiently, "Stop complaining. It's like keeping children for company."

"Wasn't so long ago-"Lamaia began, but he shut her up with a glare. She sighed and looked down for a while.

"Helio! Thank God you're back."Words filled the air that made Helio giddy with delight as a male fairy came running down the road. He halted to a stop in front of the throne, out-of-breath as he spoke, "A village in our Kingdom along the main road was attacked! Terribly! All four families dead."He trembled with wide-eyes.

"How awful! Who would do such a thing? I'll send some help over right away."Helio feigned empathy in his voice and terror on his expression as he spoke. He glanced over and looked at Pyria, "Fetch some back up and go check that out." Pyria shrugged, probably happy to not have to stand there anymore, and stalked off, gesturing for a couple of the elves to follow her.

"Oh thank you! Thank you!"He bowed multiple times before hastily making his way. It got quieter after that, even within the town itself. Many were fearful of coming outside after seeing so many dark elves march down the street.

Lamaia had been quiet too and deep in thought for few minutes. She suddenly sat on the edge of the throne and touched Helio's hand, giggling as she recalled, "Remember when we danced together. We'd attend that silly Roshmi ball every year."

Helio looked at her and grinned, pulling the black-haired girl onto his lap as he straightened up, "Ah yes... I can still remember that waltz they always played." He started to hum the waltz as he recalled it, the memory of the ball painting itself on the canvas of his mind as he hummed. His smile faltered slowly as it did.

Location: Forest outside Roshmi
Time: Afternoon
Interactions: O'ner (Mathis) @Eviledd1984, Malachi @princess, Belladonna @Potter, Valok @helo

Myra heard, looking back and forth between Belladonna and Mathis as the latter answered to the girl's question. Hopefully the girl wouldn't be angry with what Myra or Mathis said when replying to her. Mathis also seemed to have both understood her question and replied to it much better than Myra did, which it was fortunate. Hopefully he would be able to avoid any misunderstanding. Luckily, it seemed Malachi was satisfied with their answers, as he touched Belle's shoulders, saying that they should go.

With all the complicated questions answered and everyone, hopefully, on good terms and the introductions having already been made, with the dark elf introducing himself as Valok, the group continued on their way, following Malachi. After some time walking though, he insisted them to take shelter in a cave they found. While Myra wasn't really tired, she assumed that since Malachi asked, the others were starting to get tired and it would be better to go and wait for a bit, even if she was fine with walking more.

Strangely enough, even though it was Malachi who insisted for them to take shelter and rest, he ended up waking up the rest of the group pretty early and seemed to be in a rush to continue moving. Myra definitely thought that was a bit strange, but she didn't think much of it and simply followed the rest of the group.

After some more walking, Malachi turned to the rest of the group, asking where they were from before answering himself. Even though Myra had no idea where the place he said he came from was, she figured out he probably lived with other pointy ears that she sometimes found in the forest. Mathis was the next to reply, saying strange names of places Myra had never listened before. Still, one thing about Mathis' reply Myra did understand very well: the moment he started talking about food. More specifically the deer meat. Looking to him, she listened carefully, licking her lips as he told them more about the dishes his family made.

Belladonna, unlike Malachi or Mathis though, didn't seem to want to talk that much, simply saying that her reply was the same as Malachi. Myra did stop and looked at her a little bit, tilting her head in confusion. She grew with Malachi, with the pointy ears, even though she wasn't one? Being more like Darius himself? Not only her ears were different but her smell was different too. Myra kept looking at her with innocent confusion before she finally turned away. Belladonna didn't show herself to want to be closer to anyone other than Malachi in the group and for some reason, she seemed to not like them that much so Myra simply left her to her own, as she didn't want the girl to get angry with her.

Valok's answer was much more different from the rest. Even if Myra didn't understand much of what he said, he spoke in a way that reminded her a little bit of Skar. Of someone who was proud to be a 'warrior' as Skar said herself way back then. Other than that, the place he mentioned, the forests of Daka, were a place Myra was also rather familiar with. Not only because it was one of the forests she passed through some times, but because it was there that she found herself when she woke up for the first time.

Finally arriving on her time to reply, Myra tilted her head, thinking for a while before answering with a shrug and shaking her head. No matter how much she tried to think about it, the only thing she could remember was simply waking up one day in the forests surrounding Daka. As such, Myra joined her hands, putting them on her cheek and tilting her head a little bit, almost as if she was laying on them, a hand signal Darius had taught to her, signifying 'sleep'. After that, she suddenly, gave a small jump, like someone would if they woke up suddenly, looking around. After doing that, she pointed at Valok before opening her mouth.

"Forests! Dah-ka!" she said, trying to repeat what Valok had said before with a proud expression, satisfied with the "explanation" she just gave the rest of the group.

After Ayita cleared the mist with her wind, they had a clear sight of the way ahead where they all could see only Risa visible, having no clue of where the strange being that was trapping her went. That was when Torvi used her earth powers. She was probably aiming to trap the strange being but unexpectedly, she ended up trapping Risa instead. At first, Ayita was surprised, thinking Torvi had missed, but then Risa began to fight against the constraints, shouting. As she did so, her voice began to change, becoming much raspier, just like the one they heard before, from the creature that was responsible for all that. Not only her voice, but as 'she' continued to struggle, her appearance changed as well, with a blue mist gradually dissipating and revealing the reptilian visage of the caster, the same one they had seen before when the mist cleared for the first time.

"An illusion...!" Ayita said, cursing under her breath for not having realized that sooner.

Unfortunately, despite hers and Torvi's effort, further interrogating the caster proved to be impossible. Even though it initially seemed it would be easy to take some answers out of him, judging on how he was begging for his life, the moment he began to let out some information that could be of some use to them, such as the dubious but not entirely unlikely fact that there was a spy among the rebels and was about to tell his master's name, he suddenly fell dead, killed by a kunai straight to the neck. Green blood flowed through the wound as the weapon used, strangely enough, vanished, leaving only the caster's reptilian body, now dead and lifeless.

The responsible for the execution was naught but a shadow. Exhausted as they all were, not only identifying the shadowy figure proved to be a challenge but following him and risking another confrontation was simply out of question. They should consider themselves lucky that the figure didn't decide to try and finish the caster's job, ending them where they were. Fortunately, it seemed like Ayita didn't need to remind the rest of the group of that, seeing as they all seemed to think the same thing. Still, as Baraian spoke, approaching Kuroi and picking him up, they should leave as soon as possible. Both to tend to their wounds, disinfect them and have some proper rest.

Despite the overwhelming exhaustion, the clean air as they left the fetid sewers was truly invigorating, enough to give Ayita the little bit of energy she needed to get out of there and continue until they could find a safer place to tend to themselves. Fortunately, that didn't seem to take much time. By sheer luck, they met a man, driving a cart. Even though he seemed to be rather wary of the group, he still showed himself friendly and polite. Thanks to that, Torvi offered him a good sum of Amas, asking for him to drive them to the coast. Thankfully, the man accepted the offer and after discussing with Torvi about taking turns resting, just to be safe they wouldn't be betrayed, Ayita was able to have a good rest for the first time in what seemed to be a long time for her. Even though Ayita usually had quite a light sleep and was used to be alert at all times, she simply wasn't able to due to how exhausted she was and simply slept like a log.

It was the afternoon of the second day when the group finally found themselves fully rested. Ayita mostly kept to her own while they traveled. She did overhear a bit of the conversation Torvi had with the driver, a lion demi-human called Koto. By sheer luck, he seemed to be on the same way they were and had his mind set on joining the rebels, just as them. Even though that wouldn't make Ayita be less wary of the man, it did help her to relax a little bit more. When Torvi asked the group about what the caster had said back in the sewers, Ayita turned towards her, thinking for a bit.

"It was indeed a dubious information... but not entirely unlikely. In one hand, that creature seemed to be quite accustomed at lying, tricking and deceiving others, but on the other hand, people tend to be incredibly honest when their lives are on the line..." Ayita said, reflecting on Torvi's question and the words she heard from the reptile creature.

"It might be just me being overcautious, but I wouldn't dismiss the possibility of having a spy as impossible." she concluded, looking to Torvi. Ayita knew very well that her answer was far from a definitive answer for Torvi's question but it was the best she could give with the little information she had about the situation.

Time: Afternoon
Location: Wilds southwest of Flower Fairy Kingdom
Interaction with: None.

Grit teeth, rage, fury, tempered steel, piercing glares, poisoned tips, shallow breaths, tight grips…

But the intimidating thing was then silence. Like the calm before a storm. A storm strong pull bodies from their half-destroyed home. Drowning even the most competent of swimmers, while flying debris makes precious lives appear worthless. The lead Bloodfang orc's hands were now resting behind his head confidently, a grin on his face as he waited for the silence to end.

"What?!" Skar was furious. To be surrounded so easily.

"What?!" He mocked her before laughing. "Apologies… We find your type… hmm what's the right word? Amusing! Yes! Very amusing! BUT USEFUL! Very useful." The orc briefly turned to the south, the direction of the desert before looking back to Skar. "Name's Hachtaka, but just call me Hatchet. Now, I am a… hmm what's the right… Representative! Yes! Representative of the Bloodfang Clan! Here to make a deal with… uh whaddaya call this you got here?"

"Warpact! Ugh! Talk too much Hatchet! Sound like fairy! Hurry up with deal or Skar will kill you! And even if Skar die here… Skar will kill you." She promised him, but he wasn't stupid enough to start a skirmish here. He had his orders to intercept this group, investigate it, and see if they could be of use. They had been tracking Skar and her horde for days and were sure now that the group aimed to head to the home of the Diamond Heart Clan. But for what purpose? Orcs only lived to raid and conquer and her group was equipped for a battle.

"I'll make it quick then, Warpact! I figured a lass like ya'self would want me to take my time… Bloodfang wants Diamond Heart gone! We aid Warpact. Warpact takes over the south and forms a brand-spankin' new clan! THEN Bloodfang will call Waagh!" He smiled, and Skar actually grinned before chuckling.

"Stupid Hatchet. Unbroken won't bend to Bloodfang calling waagh! Not even Diamond Heart bend to Bloodfang and Diamond Heart dumbest clan! You are a shit rep...reper… Dealer. Shitty deal man!" A few in Skar's horde built up the confidence to cackle with Skar's humored tone.

"RIGHT! Unbroken won't bend… We will break them! Bloodfang with Warpact will break the Unbroken! Smash-Stone will follow with no fight. Those orc are just big green bug-wings without the damned bug wings! We call Waagh with our two clans we will win, Skar! A rebellion is comin' which is a perfect time for a waagh." Skar's smile faded as Hatchet's words made sense to her. Divide and conquer was easy enough for her to understand.

"Dark Lord will be busy... Unbroken with less support… Tell Skar more. Of plan and of ball. Hatchet not bad deal man after all. Decent deal man."

"The best!"

"Darius is best deal man!" She snapped

"Who?"

Time: Afternoon, Day 2
Location: By a spring, closer to River Port
Interactions: @13org@Helo@Potter@Eviledd1984

Malachi listened to Mathis words. While he did so, he washed his hands in the spring and also took a drink from it. He finally smiled at Mathias as he finished speaking, "There is nothing quite like homecooked meals that are made with love. My wife had been a very good cook too. She'd always make us a beef stew with seasoned, buttery bread she baked. She never told me how she made it and I haven't been able to come across a beef stew as tasty in years. Always good to have recipes written down." To sit at the table and enjoy a warm meal with family was such a long gone notion to Malachi, but still, it brought comfort to have some nostalgic reminiscence of the sensation.

Valok also shared some of his story with them, which had been an entirely different upbringing. His tone took on pride that he could not quite fault him for. He cringed a little when he spoke of being trained in The Pits. He had heard one or two horror stories over his years. He stared at his scar and he was sure that the dark elf had wanted him to feel impressed perhaps, but he felt... sadness. He wondered if Valok had ever been shown much kindness.”You sound like a very strong man to endure such a thing... You were young when you had to face this beastman?"

"Forests! Dah-ka!"

Malachi glanced over at Myra and suddenly laughed, which wasn't an often event. However, he wasn't hindering himself as usual too much at the moment. Though she was quite cute, being raised in Daka did raise some questions. He glanced at her and saw something very despairing, his eyes widened just a little bit. "Myra." He moved over, taking a cloth out of his pocket and dipping it into the water. "You have gotten dirt on you." He slowly moved to bend down in front of her and gently dabbed it on her cheek. "There you go. All better."

His actions had all been genuine despite things. He figured he could attempt to loosen up a little if he were to get to know them regardless of friend or foe. They had gotten off to a tense start. "Are you all ready to continue?"

Time: Afternoon Day 2
Location: Forest
Interaction: @Helo Cade @Potter Cora @Alivefalling Ezeri

Mood:

There was some tension in the group between Cade and Cora which Elsea wasn’t fond of. She could understand both sides of things, but it was obvious that Corvina felt bad for what she’d done. Hopefully in time Cade would be able to completely forgive the girl. For the rest of the day, though, Elsea made it a point to spend time with Corvina. She wanted to give her the opportunity to talk about things if she needed and if she didn’t want to then Elsea just wanted to be there for her. She felt a connection to the other flame wielder and really wanted to bond more with her.

The next morning had gone by rather uneventfully. Cade had gone hunting for them again, though this time he also brought back fruit for them to eat. Elsea truthfully wasn’t a picky eater and was grateful for anything he brought them. There were too many times back home that she’d gone hungry that being picky about what you ate just wasn’t an option.

When Cade halted them, Elsea at first feared there was something dangerous in their path, but then she spotted it. The unicorn drinking from the stream was absolutely magnificent and she immediately felt enchanted by it. Before she knew what was happening, Ezeri was moving around Cade and slowly approaching the unicorn. There was a moment of concern that ran through Elsea as she saw the woman’s eyes begin to glow, she wasn’t going to harm the creature was she? Instead it seemed the opposite happened as Ezeri seemed to tame it. This shocked Elsea and she was almost giddy as the woman said they could approach.

While a part of her wanted to run over there, Elsea definitely didn’t want to spook the creature and approached quietly. She soon stood beside Ezeri and reached out to stroke the unicorns head as she listened to Ezeri speak. ”There’s no need to be sorry.” She told the woman with a giggle and then glanced at her. ”You know where I come from this creature is very special. They bring all sorts of good luck, but they are a wild and free mystical creature. It’s said only the most innocent and pure can tame them.” She gave Ezeri a grin and briefly glanced back at the others. The fact that Ezeri had tamed the unicorn caused Elsea to trust the woman almost entirely because if the legends were true then Ezeri could only be good.

Time: Afternoon
Location: Main Road from Roshmi

Caelan was shaking underneath the blanket as the cart traveled along the road. It was a relatively smooth ride and it wasn’t too bumpy, otherwise, he might not have stayed concealed. The noise of others entering in the back scared him; he did not know what was going on and was too nervous to listen to the conversations around him. Caelan sat for a moment until they hit a larger bump, causing him to stretch his feet to prevent himself from falling, simultaneously stepping on the edge of the blanket causing it to fall and reveal the man underneath. He still had on a beanie and had a black cloak over his very unusual clothing, at least to an Avalian.

“Uh... uhh Hello.” He said in a nervous tone, looking at a group of four others around him. Caelan was at a loss here, he was unsure whether to jump out and run or sit in place. After a moment he decided to play it cool, “The name’s Caelan. ” He clicked his tongue and gave them some finger guns. ”Was just taking a nap… You guys have any idea where we’re even going?” He looked around at his surroundings in confusion, but slowly he remembered that he had jumped on a random cart in Roshmi, happy to just go anywhere else other than that shithole. “Who’s the DM up in this place anyway?”

Artemis & Helio

Time: Afternoon
Location:River Kingdom

An hour prior, Artemis had gone to snooze under a tree for a momentary rest, only to be awakened, tangled in netting. The Dark Elves had found her even after all her efforts. She had tried to scream, but one of them jammed a muzzle on her face. She kicked and screamed at her captors as they dragged her with them through the woods. She would be damned if she was taken back to River!

Eventually, she found herself being dragged down the road of the River Kingdom plaza. Then, she was thrust onto the cobblestone in front of a throne, her arms tied behind her back. Artemis stared ahead of her the way one did when they had seen a ghost.

“Well look what the dark elves dragged in!” Helio greeted her cheerfully as he gazed down from her in his lounging position. He waved off Lamaia from his lap, who walked off to take the opportunity to take a break. He leaned his elbow on the side of the throne and bent his neck to stare straight down at her, his grin persisting. “So. My Tigerlily still likes herself a little rebellion, does she? And apparently blue hair.” Helio studied her for a moment before pulling the muzzle off.

Artemis jumped at the unexpected, familiar voice. The image in front of her came at her quickly, and all she could do was stare. The eyes she’d fallen in love with were drowning in darkness. He didn’t seem threatened, and although she was, she wouldn’t show it.

”I suppose so.” Artemis responded. She felt despair and fury fill her simultaneously, ” I haven’t heard that name in a long time,” She replied quietly. Then, her expression morphed into worry and concern, '' What have they done to you?”

”What have they done to me?” He echoed in an eerily calm voice, still bent down and staring her in the eyes, ”More like what did you do to me?” Helio suddenly grabbed her by the throat and gripped it with growing tightness. The dark elves at her sides were all staring, awestruck. ” Don’t you remember, Tigerlily? It was all you. You, you, you-”

Artemis’s eyes widened. It would have been easier if she had been stabbed by knives. She inhaled as he began to choke her, gasping for air and struggling. Black dots danced across her vision. The violet eyes she stared into belonged to Helio, but his mind was gone.

Suddenly, he let go of her throat dramatically with enough force to push her backward onto the floor. His expression changed to a gentle smile, ” You made me… better. I’m much stronger now.” He paused as if digging back into his memories. He lounged back on the throne and materialized a ball of dark energy into his hand. ” See I couldn’t quite do this before, could I? So thank you, Tigerlily.“ He juggled it in his hands, not looking at her as he continued, ”Looked like you got stronger too. Killed everyone I sent at you. At first, I was just trying to keep you away so I can play with Risa, but I was genuinely interested in your limits. I found the elf with her throat ripped out and I was just so proud. Had to personally fetch you some presents to leave you this morning as a reward.”

Once he relinquished his grip, Artemis dropped to the ground, gasping. She fought off flashbacks in the back of her mind. Struggling to stay present, Artemis gritted her teeth. She narrowed her eyes at him and finally began catching her breath.

”Impressive.” She managed to say and let out a haughty grin. She blanched when he revealed he’d been sending the Dark Elves to kill her. She fought back a scowl. ”I hope you enjoyed the show.” Her voice was dry as she glared down at him.

Helio smiled wide, watching her every move like a hawk. He dissolved the orb before speaking, ”Oh sweetheart, you were amazing. Great show!” He made an effort to even applaud for her. He nodded to the elves and clapped with more vigor with a threatening look to edge them into clapping along with him, which they did reluctantly, ”Terrific technique. Didn’t know you could be so vicious.”

”What did you do to Risa?” Now, her voice rose as concern filled her. When he didn’t answer fast enough, she asked again, ”What did you do to her?”

He grinned wider, staying silent as she pressed on again about it. He thought for a moment before answering, ”I just paid my little sister a visit, that’s all... Then I hurt her.” His eyes were still glued to her but his tone and body were relaxed. He didn’t seem threatened.

Artemis gritted her teeth. ”This isn’t you.” She finally took a deep breath and steadied herself. ”You’re still in there. I know it.” Her expression softened, ”I’m so sorry that they did this to you, Helio. You must have suffered greatly.” Her voice was gentle as she focused on compelling him not to attack her. ”Tell me what it is you want with me right now and how I can make it up to you, and how to fix you.”

Helio let her speak, glancing down at her. Anger crossed his expression and he thought about lashing out at her, but he couldn’t put the words into action. “Fix me? There’s nothing to fix, love.” He reached out and rubbed her cheek. ”I don’t want anything with you right now, not even to hurt you… I just wanted to see you.” His voice had become gentle and low only for her to hear.

Artemis noticed him stiffening and retreating. His anger caused her to tense then relaxed when he didn’t move to harm her. ”This isn’t you.” She repeated and fell silent. ”Me too.” A faint smile wanted to cross her face but she didn’t let it. ”I’m here now, and I’m sorry to tell you, I won’t be leaving you again if I can help it.”

Helio knew he was playing a game with her, toying with her, and bringing out the words she wanted to hear, yet part of it felt too real. Seeing and hearing her felt familiar and nostalgic and for the moment it felt as if he was somewhere else and someone else. He asked with some genuine interest, ”If this isn’t me, then who is it, Lily? Who am I?”

”I’m not sure.” Her voice was quiet as she leaned her face into his hand. Part of her knew he was toying with her but she didn’t want to stop staring at him either. She’d dreamed of him every night after the betrayal and now he was here.”I want to believe it is you, I don’t know what game you’re playing, but I want you to be you again.” Her voice cracked as her eyes filled with tears. ”I’m so sorry you had to suffer like this, and that it was my fault. I bet they didn’t tell you the whole story though did they?”

Memories went through his mind. His expression was soft for a moment, but then it twisted and he suddenly shoved her down onto the cobblestone. ”You did this to me.” Helio stated with rising anger. ”I know the whole fucking story. You gave me up! You told them I took the DROM! And I even…!” He spat, dark energy starting to form in his hands. He started to laugh, ”Oh Tigerlily. I may be something else now, but you were always twisted, you sick bitch.”

Artemis’s eyes widened. The sudden shift to anger had overwhelmed her and caused her to stiffen. She didn’t know how she had a heart anymore, but the shitty thing broke all over again. She took several deep breaths and scowled. ”Helio I was forced to give you up… We stole that DROM then they had my family. I didn’t know they’d do this to you.. I’m so sorry. ” She was struggling to talk, her voice choking up. Her vocal cords were sore. ”I told them I had responsibility in it too and even talked you into doing it. I’m sorry.``

Her words were like the buzzing of bees in his ears. When she stepped back, he threateningly stepped off his throne and forward, laughing and not answering her. His body had an aura of dark energy coming out of it as he moved. Helio started to hurl dark matter from his hands at her with a crazed look in his eyes.

Artemis stared at him with horror. Her eyes widened as she began trying to duck and dodge the dark energy, struggling to roll out of the way. ”Helio please stop!” She called over the noise of the dark energy.

A dark elf finally grabbed his arm and gave him a look so he paused. Helio met his eyes and suddenly shrugged, straightening from his attacking position. ”Yeah. Guess I can’t break my new toy so soon.” With a smile, he moved over, knelt down, and began tightening the muzzle back around her head. ”I think I’d like to put my pet in her cage.”

Artemis’s eyes filled with tears but she didn’t let them fall. She scowled as he put the muzzle on and genuine fear filled her eyes. ”No plea-” she began but it was useless as it was pulled over her face. She tried to compel him, but it was fruitless. She stared at him pleadingly but knew it wouldn’t do any good.

Helio tilted his head at her pleading look and stroked her hair, ”Such a pretty face. You look absolutely divine when you’re so distressed. I could almost kiss you. ” He smiled down at her, leaning down as if he were about to give her a kiss, then he pulled away and hopped back up to his feet, snapping his fingers. ”Lock my estranged in her cage!”

For a moment, her heart fluttered. She tore her gaze away from him and looked over her shoulder. Dark Elves began grabbing her and pulling her backward into a metal cage, which he seemed to just have prepared ahead of time. She let out a murderous growl at the elves as they locked her into it, slamming it shut. She felt tears sting her eyes and let them fall this time. Trembling, Artemis pulled her knees up to her chest and avoided gazing at anyone. Her gaze locked onto a watching bluejay and then away.

Helio relaxed back in his throne, stating pleasantly, ”You were right, Tigerlily… You won’t be leaving me again.”

"Betterr… Much better." Umber's dark malevolent voice could be heard within the plaza, despite not being seen by any who heard. The area seemed to become darker as if the sun was being blocked by overhead clouds, yet this was not the case. The plaza itself darkened, but everything beyond the location faded into darkness. The plaza became a drifting island in a sea of black unknown. From the south side of the plaza, the large figure that was Umber emerged from the darkness, levitating just above the ground. One of his hands reached out and tapped Artemis's cage. It seemed like a light casual touch, but the cage rattled as if he had given it a shove.

"Much better than the village. Then again, suffering is… suffering. I just savor it much more than most… Like what you've done with this one." Umber's eyes seemed to widen as he felt the emotions pour out of her. Her… Umber recognized Artemis from Aklenroth's throne room. She was by Darius at the time. "Wait… Helio she is… oh this is relishing…" Umber snickered as he turned back to Helio. "More fear Helio… You need more fear! Of those around you… I taste hate… nostalgia… hope… Fear will fix those. I can show you, child."

Time: Afternoon Day 2
Location: Forest
Interaction: @Helo Bowyn @HowlsOfWinter Zephyrin @princess Clara

Lalaberries? Really? Dear lord, this girl… Kenia thought to herself as she shook her head and watched Zephyrin ask for some. She was about to ask her if she actually meant alaberries, but her attention was pulled by Bowyn. He had conditions and she couldn’t help but give him a cheeky grin. ”Fair enough, I can accept this.” There was a part of her screaming that she shouldn’t allow it and she should be the one to take care of those things, but she shoved that part of her down. She knew she’d been harsh to all of them and, while she wouldn’t take any of what she’d done back, perhaps it would be beneficial to be less...intense. She could be cautious of them all while being a little less bitchy. She was beginning to realize that her grief over Rei had really affected her and she’d channeled it into being rather cruel.

Arwen seemed to have a question for her as well and she pondered on how to answer that for a moment. ”To put it simply, he had proven to be a danger to the group. Leaving him was the kinder option. I assure you, though, his willingness to leave our group on his own yesterday tells me he’ll be just fine on his own.” She explained to the girl. She knew it may not be an entirely satisfactory answer for her, but it was the truth. She then looked to Bowyn and Zephyrin and sighed a little as she knew what she wanted to say next wasn’t going to be easy.

”I’d like to apologize to the two of you, grief has caused me to be more...callous than I intended. While I don’t take back any of my actions, I do realize I could have gone about them in a more tactful way. I’ll try to be better as we move forward.” She gave a shrug and fell silent for a moment, standing there feeling a bit awkward. Finally after a moment she piped up again. ”With that being said, let’s get moving. I would really like to make it to our destination before nightfall.” She began moving once more, at a bit of a quicker pace now.
