Mazorn was positively giddy. "I'm half Canadian. He did meet me in our ancestral home, while I was hiking. As for why he chose me, he mentioned something about 'repairing past mistakes' of which I have theories on but until I see him and kick his behind, I won't have figured out." He moved closer, motioning the other man to continue through the cave. "I'm as real as they come, I'm afraid." He patted the other man's shoulder. "Ysmir's beard you're nearly frozen... Hmm.."

He slammed Gungnir into the ground, the spear brightening slightly as it stood as he let go of the shaft. Reaching up to the tip, mazorn grimaced as he drew a bit of blood from his hand and motioned for Torbjørn's arm. "Uruz Raidho Gebo. I give you a measure of my strength for the road ahead. That should keep you." He picked up his spear again before continuing forward.

Himinn leapt off his shoulder and aligted on a rock nearby. The bird scanned the area, as if seeing something the others couldn't. Use to it by now Mazorn kept walking. If the raven had something to say, he would let them know. "So, what part of the homeland are you from, friend? Or is it son. Gods this whole thing is weird. Odin barely explained it and just told me that I would be hunted and needed to ready myself. Did Lord Baldr let you know of anything? My sight of the palace is being blocked since it's got some sort of barrier on it, but I think I saw the Bifrost."

Using the light from his spear's evoked rune, Mazorn checked the corners they passed by. He had gone spelunking a few times before, but it wasn't something he did regularly.

A refreshing sweep of vitality rushed through Torbjørn. For being the other man’s first journey to this so-called Palace of Communicators, of which he still wasn’t sure was sane of him to think, he had quite a grasp on something supernatural. The image of the stone that Baldr had gifted to Tor flashed in his mind’s eye. Would he have the ability to manipulate the power of the runes as the other man did?

“Mmm, a good question. I’d like to think friend, ja? I was born and raised in Bergen; and, if I had to guess, I think it would be fair to assume that you are from the Oslo region based on your dialekt.” Fairly certain that the other man wasn’t a threat, a more trusting tone could be heard in Tor’s voice. As they cautiously trekked through the cave, Tor glanced over to Odin’s Communicator. ”Tell me, Mazorn—you asked if Baldr had let me know anything—out of curiosity, has Odin been chatty? Baldr visited me for the first time and the last time a few days ago. Either he is not the talkative type or he is testing me.”

The raven continued to act as a scout as it glided from rock to rock as they walked. As they squeezed through a tight corridor a large wrapped bundle caught his eye. The wraps were falling off of it in places and some sort of viscous liquid oozed out of it. Then, a voice carried through the darkness but a short distance away: “Okay, let’s get going then.”

Quietly Tor turned to look at his new travel companion. His eyes motioned to the voice as if to ask him if he thought they should go investigate.

For the millionth time since she started climbing this mountain, Kijani Ryane wondered if being a Communicator was going to work for her.

The bitter cold seemed to seep through her heavy mountain climbing gear. She had experienced plenty of winters in the various cities that she’d visited in her life. But this weather blew them all away. The isolation, too, was maddening. If she didn’t have Thoth guiding her steps and occupying a bit of mental space, she probably would have gone insane between the freezing temperatures and the blinding greyish-white scenery.

Couldn’t the gods have located themselves on a tropical island?

Thoth had warned her that there would be monsters. At first she thought something was lost in translation. Certainly there could be animals, large ones, on the mountain. But when she caught an actual glimpse of one – far too large and bipedal to be even the biggest of bears – she found herself actually sweating within her freezing gear and going, clammy-palmed, for her kopesh. She had been training with it since this whole endeavor started, but still felt uncomfortable with her weapon in hand. She had never taken a life – unless you counted the occasional mosquito or spider – and she didn’t plan on starting now. Though, if it came down to it, she didn’t feel like she would hesitate to save her own life.

Thoth had been directing her since the base of the mountain, giving her a difficult climb but one mostly free from monsters. She was a thinker, not a fighter. Or she was now, anyway.

“You will have to become adept with my weapon, you understand. If not now, then very soon.” Was her god’s advice to her.

Truthfully, she was enjoying the other aspects of her power. Being able to understand all the languages was a great help, even if it did mean a bit of a headache when she was translating too much at once. The paper ability was strange, but wonderful. The scroll fascinated her. If only she could just get the swordplay down.

The sky started to change as she approached the top of the mountain. It cleared somewhat, and the air shimmered like the sun off asphalt. But there was no heat. Exactly what was she dealing with here? Then she noticed the only other human soul she’d seen in hours. “...Hello there.” She had no idea who it was, and kept herself terse.

Nathan saw the young woman coming she seemed uncomfortable in the woods and snow but most hoqwats did, even the ones that weren't white.

"Hey," Nate said quietly. He didn't want to attract any attention and he did not want to scare the poor lady off. To make it worse he was usually quiet when he first met anyone much less some strange lady in the woods.

"Do you know where we are going? I'm mean other than a direction. I was 'post to go to someplace where there were other people like me but unless I know I don't think I"ll even be sure when I get there."

Nodding his head, Mazorn responded. "Aye. I've been doing this... For almost a month. He's generally responsive if I need him to be, otherwise he'll give cryptic clues." The large men kept his eye out, spying the remains of some draugr that had been freshly killed. He tilted his head as he heard the sound of other people. He motioned for the other man to follow as he headed over, noticing the wrapped bundle. He pointed the spear at it and set it alight. "Better to give draugr the rest they deserve. They're all over the mountain."

The raven flitted to his shoulder, preening before cawing once. "Cling to life, the dead do. And no place more full than in a god's demesne."

"Indeed..." Mazorn noted. He led the way, entering a brighter area where the others were a short while later. "Well, then... Looks like we found more Communicators!" He grinned as Himinn left his shoulder and flitted towards the one with the guitar. With his vision, he could feel a sort of musical resonance, which the raven confirmed with two chirps.

"A son, a song."

Laughing, the man shook his head, tapping Gungnir on the ground. "So you're Bragi's. I'm not sure who the rest of you are, but I'm Mazorn, this is Torb. We aren't too far from the barrier and I do suggest we move quickly towards it. There are greater dangers than the undead and some giant animals out here. Otherwise a barrier wouldn't exactly be necessary..."

"Fianna, Marinette," the younger girl said to herself, committing the names and faces to memory. "Those are very nice names!" Gwen quickly added with a chipper smile, before her eyes were drawn to the rip on her sleeve. She looked down to it, sticking two fingers into the tear, before pulling them out. Bone dry, thankfully. "It’s just a tear in the fabric. Nothing serious," Gwen said dismissively. "Thankfully. I will need a new jacket, though…oh, right!” The girl quickly snapped back to her original train of thought. "Gwen Zhang. Communicator of Ryujin!” she said excitedly to the soldier lady, eyeing her up. Gwen had expected some of the warrior types to make an appearance as Communicators, but this woman did seem especially intimidating, somehow.

Speaking of the French infantrywoman, Marinette had suggested that the small group make progress, which Gwen hurriedly agreed to. "Oh, yes, yes, yes please, just get me out of this cold,” Gwen said anxiously, before beginning to trek forwards again towards the white barrier, not bothering to check to see if the other two were following. At this point, Gwen had managed to stave off the deep cold from the warming excitement of meeting other Communicators and having to fight for her life for a few moments, but it was back and colder than ever. Gwen hurried over to the swirling barrier of snow. To any mortal that had somehow managed to venture to this point, the blizzard would be a terrifying site, with shards of snow and ice whipping fast enough to make even the most experienced travelers shiver in fear. However, strangely enough, Gwen felt as though the barrier was harmless, and as if it was beckoning her forwards. This was because she was not wrong at all. Gwen slowly and steadily stepped into the moving blizzard, and just like that, she passed through without a hitch. It was like she had phased through.

Instantly, a flood of warmth filled Gwen’s body as the magic of the Sky Palace entered her. It was exhilarating, like she had stepped into a sauna. The entire place had an air of ancient magic to it. Standing before her was a massive castle built out of polished limestone, with towers capped with emerald spires flanking the building, and a few green vines drooping down from the building’s parapets. In front of the massive building was what appeared to be a massive porcelain bowl, from which a gigantic violet fire flickered. Stone paths split out from the central palace like a spiderweb, etching out into the walls of the valley in which the Sky Palace was located- one of the doorways was made of thick marble and flanked by Corinthian columns, another was carved out of sandstone, with etched figures surrounding the doorway; a third was built of thick cedarwood and had a shield laying on each door, a fourth was a gnarled green u-shaped door with a heavy golden knocker on it, and the last, the one that Gwen felt a calling towards, was surrounded by a torii gate and covered by bead curtain.

Still in astonishment by this scene, Gwen wordlessly approached the burning flame, staring up at the flickering magical fire in awe and feeling its warmth radiate against her cool skin. This place looked and felt like it was from a Disney movie. It was, needles to say, a surreal experience.

"Poor snake," Teddy said quietly, but his stoic face showed no signs of mourning for the snake. He didn't dislike snakes; in fact, he found them quite interesting. However, this was no time to be mourning over creatures that wanted him dead, no matter how cool they looked. If the group stayed there any longer, there was an increasingly high chance that there would be more than just a single giant cobra coming for their flesh.

Thankfully, the end of the corridor was not far away. Only a hop and a step down the hallway were the heavy stone doors that the sensation in the back of his mind told him was the end of the journey. Teddy rested his shoulder against the doorway, pressing hard, and the massive slab of rock slid open, the shining light of day filtering into the corridor as Teddy managed to open the door. Once he had managed to push the heavy slab of rock ajar, Teddy stepped out into the sunlight, before realizing that he, along with the rest of the group, was standing way up in the sky.

The Sky Palace, and what Teddy believed were many of the other Communicators, were way down below Teddy's current position. He, along with the other cavern-travelers, was stuck upon a stone ledge suspended way up on the side of the valley in which the Sky Palace was nestled. The good news, at least, was that this magical valley was not nearly as bitterly cold as was the frigid New Hampshire wild or even the cave. The bad news was that their resting place was hundreds of feet beneath them. Luckily, Teddy was creative, and years of the powers of Anubis being in his blood had given him an edge in the utilization of his natural gifts. From his hand, a long length of bandages emerged, dropping from his palm and slinking down the side of the mountain all the way to the ground level of the Sky Palace. Teddy looked around at the group. "Anybody see something we can hang this on?" Teddy asked quietly as he looked around. "I'd offer to hold on, but I wouldn't like to be pulled to my death anytime soon."

Fianna smiled in relief that Gwen was alright. That creature could have done horrific damage to Gwen if no one had chosen to take the mountain pass. Her eyes widened as Gwen just took off headfirst back into the blizzard. Fia quickly trekked after Gwen. "Gwen, wait! You shouldn't just take off like that into a blizzard you could...get lost." She tried to say but the young woman wasn't slowing down, it was clear that they should get out of the cold and snow but they should stay together as much as possible. Then suddenly, Gwen vanished from in front of Marinette and Fianna.

Fianna looked at Marinette with surprise. "You saw that too, right?" She asked the French woman before she hesitantly followed Gwen and pressed forward with her eyes closed.

The feeling of going through the barrier was an odd one and something that Fianna wouldn't forget anytime soon. It was like she was almost reborn for a second only in reverse. Instead of going from a warm place to a cold one, she walked into a toasty and slightly damp world from the frozen top of a mountain. Fia realized that they were in a sauna and got a glimpse of Gwen enjoying herself, basking in the warmth.

"Well, time to get these off," Fianna murmured to herself as she took off her winter gear and put them into her backpack. "There, now, the nargals can't smell me," she giggled. Now, Fia was barefoot with her t-shirt tied to the front with a knot, and her jeans were cuffed and rolled up just below her knees. She noticed that Gwen had continued to move forward out of the sauna, so naturally, Fia would do the same. Her feet padded silently on the limestone floor of the sauna to the outdoor balcony where the most beautiful scene she had ever seen was waiting for her. There was a literal castle in the mountains of New Hampshire. This had to be the Sky Palace that Abnoda had talked about after Fianna agreed to be her Communicator.

To say that the palace was huge, was an understatement. The towering walls and green-capped rooves would almost lead one to believe that this was a dream. Fianna spotted Gwen down by the giant fire bowl and began to make her way down. Sky Palace was fused with some deep and powerful magic, the plants were telling her so. Plants couldn't talk to Fianna directly but she could feel the auras from plants since working with Abnoda. Animals were a lot easier to communicate with, in Fia's opinion.

"Hey, Gwen, I would just be careful if I were you. There are a lot of unknowns right now," Fianna said with her normal, gentle smile as she reached the garden of the flame. "This place is incredible though, isn't it?"

”Huh...” That snake sure didn’t last long. Oh well. ”Right- yeah let’s get out of here. Anyway, I’m S- the fuck?” A raven emerged of nowhere above Sam’s head, which damn near careened into his face. Behind him emerged a couple of guys, one claiming to recognize the god of which San was the communicator. One had Ansuz over his eye. The other didn’t seem to be talking much. ”Hey. Yeah, my name is Sam,
I’m Bragi’s mouthpiece. Anyway, I’m guessing we’re all here for the same thing right? Might as well get through it together so we don’t wind up like-“
He made a zombie-arm impression with his hands -Those guys out in the snow.” He joked following the rest with the acoustic bludgeoning instrument over his shoulder.

The way ahead wasn’t terribly long, just a stone corridor to a stone gate. The one with the torch pushed it open as light poured in. Warmth seemed to creep up as the doors showed something out of a movie. A grand castle hundreds of feet below them, and...other communicators? ”God damn. Bragi, this is what we’re here for right?”

“Yes.”

”Damn, how do we-“ Teddy’s hand shot out a bunch of bandages like a rope down to the ground. That was a pretty neat ability to have, too bad we couldn’t hang it anywhere. ”Hm, wait- I know what to!” Sam remarked as he slung his guitar around to knock off some notes. Only three. As he did, a pair of glowing orange tunes lit up in front of everybody, they were Isa, Nauthiz, and Thurisaz. ”Let’s see if this- works!” He declared with a grunting sound as he slammed the neck of his guitar into the rocks at their feet like a spear. The instrument embedded itself in the rock with such rigidity that you’d swear it was apart of it. That was because the runes he strung together created a magic spell that made the ground rigid, the guitar unmoving, and the rock it was stuck in strong enough to hold. Normally, something like that would shatter a guitar, but this wasn’t any normal guitar.

”This thing’s unbreakable, won’t budge now. We could all climb down at the same time and it won’t move an inch unless that cloth snaps. Tie it up around there, we’ll be fine. I can pull it out of my pocket when we’re back down.” Sam told Teddy in a “fuck-you-giant-cliff manner. ”Just- make sure it don’t snap on the way down, y’know?

Marinette stands ready, her Red Spear in hand while the Red Woman only eyed her in curiosity, she only shook her head, she knows that her instincts will save her one day, but this isn't it. Still, in an effort to calm her down, she started elaborating on the place the trio just walked into.

"Well, I guess some formalities are in order, but welcome Marinette, to the Sky Palace. The residence of the gods and probably the only place where we have our full powers on demand, the outside world is kinda dead to us power wise. Oh, do not mention this, but the Japanese section of the Sky Palace has the worst food, the Egyptian and Greek section has genuinely good cooks in their repertoire. Just an FYI.

"Hmmm. Are you sure about that? I never tasted a lot of Japanese food back home, but the restaurants I've been to tasted rather nice."

"No, it's actually not that, I know the Japanese can cook good food. But it's just... the Shinto deities are really lazy, let's just say that."

"Hmm. Alright, I guess I will take your word for it, but I will have to taste the food by myself first."

The woman only shrugged, not wanting to fight her Communicator. "Alright, oh, and I'm going to go for now. I'll see you once you're accustomed to this place, ok?"

Several Minutes ago
The walk through the barrier felt incredibly unusual even for the seasoned soldier. The sudden transition from the sudden cold into such a temperate climate felt as if she has been teleported into another world or something. The buildings of the Sky Palace jut out like spires into the sky, domes in a brilliant green, birds of all shapes and sizes fly around the Sky Palace, adding to the serenity of the palace, and the various doors and gates that line up indicated which deific pantheon resides in where. The wooden door with the Celtic runes call for her, it felt very tempting...

Alas, she was a highly trained soldier, so her instincts when encountering unknowns kicked in. "Fianna, Gwen. Form up, sure, the situation might be tempting, but I don't think that we should lower our guard."

Marinette unclothed herself from the thick winter climbing gear and readied whatever weapons she could bring for her journey here. Her climbing axe was one, and the Red Spear was the only other weapon she could use. God, what she would do to get her trusty Famas Rifle on her hands right now. "Alors, Fianna, do you have weapons on hand? I can lend you my Axe if you don't have one. Gwen, what about you?"

The Sky Palace was everything he'd expected and more. "Is that... Genuine Corinithian Brass? Whoa... This place is amazing. I could have totally just flown in." Watching the others, as they travelled to the ledge, Mazorn squatted down and looked over the edge, he was about to offere his skill when Bragi's Communicator performed his runic evocation. He noted the style, the flow of the Wyrd. He scooted over, intrigued, and poked around the object. The guitar, in his sight, echoed as if it was part of the mountain; unmovable.

Spotting the bandages, Mazorn quickly evoked a rune of his own, sending it to combine with the fabric. "Uruz should help keep it's strength. I won't need to use that way, but I'll meet you lot down there. I want to fly around up here for a while and see the whole Palace."

Himinn, which hopped off Sam's shoulder to his master's took to the wind, flying around as Mazorn took to the ledge, entering a free fall as his shape shimmered, beginning to shrink in size until he was a large raven. The communicator took flight, gliding around the area into an updraft before soaring towards the palace.

Sitting on a rock, Nicodemus was resting from a long training session with his bident. He was becoming more familiar with the weapon, something Hades wanted him to learn as quickly as he could. He was quite pleased that here he hadn't seen a single person's demise or have any visions, though there were a few oddities, such as several souls of old Communicators finally having another mortal who could see and speak with them. They were generally helpful, offering advice and even helping with his training, though he'd noticed a few people looking at him strangely as the dead weren't entirely visible to the Living.

"An so, a' punched 'em in tha gut and took him down with me trusty finisher. The ol' lich nevah saw it comin'! Ye should have heard the laugh Big Red gave ah that!" The old Scotsman laughed. He had met his demise in that same battle, though he had won the fight.

"I'm certain you pleased Lord Ares. He's certainly... A personality." Nico shuddered at the memory of the massive man. Hades had all but paraded Nico through the Olympian's Throne Room, allowing him to meet the other gods and a few of the communicators who were there. Having taken a class or two on what the world believed were myths, he was surprised to find that most of it was true.

He was surprised to see how receptive Persephone was of him. The large woman practically coddled him the entire time he was there. He quickly learned why she was called Dread Persephone when Ares made a backhand comment about Hades' new communicator. He shivered at the memory of black roses filling the area with thorns. Definitely not someone you wanted to piss off, that goddess. She had simply causes them to retract and went back to petting Nico's hair and telling him "Not to worry his pretty little head. Which has very soft hair, you absolutely must go see Aphrodite and get a spa day."

His experience of the Olympians went nearly as expected. Out of them, Lady Hestia was quickly becoming a favorite. He didn't think anyone could make such good food that felt like a grandmother's love. He had eaten his full ever since he came, many of the warrior gods commenting that he needed to bulk up, and they would make sure that he did so.

His experience with the other pantheons was in interesting one. he found that Anubis was interesting to talk to and Hades and Osiris were actually on quite good terms, as they both enjoyed similar things. He found that Odin told some good stories and approved of his hellhound, who currently lounged in the shade. Skotadi was growing in size quite quickly, something he was told to expect to happen.

Noticing his pup's ears perk up and jump to his feet, Nico looked around. The hellhound pup shook himself off before bounding into a nearby shadow, vanishing as he used the old ways of transportation, his owner close behind. They exited at the bridge, seeing newcomers taking off heavy winterized gear. The hound ignored Nico's calls as the three foot tall, five foot long beast barreled towards them, barking happily.

"Oh, Tartaros! Skotadi! Heel!" Nico was absolutely mortified, his fear gripping him tight as he noticed the commotion he was making, the hellhound, sensing his master in peril, turned on his heels and bounded back, rubbing his face on the man's waist. "You're supposed to be helping me, you crazy pup..." His face was beet red, flushed from head to chest with embarrassment.

Tor observed the young man with chestnut colored hair as he dropped a seemingly unending length of bandage from his palm. Right after the bandage touched ground at the bottom of the cliff, he had asked if anyone saw where they could anchor the other end. The next thing Tor knew the man that had introduced himself as Sam strummed three different chords on the guitar that he carried. Its notes could be felt in Tor’s chest as they rang out. Sam then embedded the instrument into the mountain itself to be used as an anchor. Finally, Mazorn evoked a rune on the bandage. The whole ordeal took maybe two minutes—tops.

With eyes transfixed on the edge of the cliff where the makeshift rope dropped off, Tor remarked out loud to himself, ”Yeah, let me just climb down this bandage that some guy spewed out of his palm like Spiderman, which is anchored to some magic guitar, seems safe. Seems completely sane. Yep.”

Unaware of what Mazorn had said, Torbjørn jumped to the side when he took him by surprise by throwing himself off the cliff. Torbjørn, not knowing what to think other than Mazorn was completely out of his mind, scrambled to the edge expecting to see a man but saw nothing instead. What the hell? He looked around trying to search for any sign of him, then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a raven soaring alongside Himinn. ”Of course. He can shapeshift,” he sarcastically stated. Tor shook his head with a smirk. He needed several hard drinks.

Torbjørn grabbed onto the slack at the edge and tugged hard. It felt sturdy enough and the guitar didn’t budge. With the graceful expertise of a mountaineer he rappelled down the side of the cliff and onto solid ground. He had thought his mind was playing tricks on him as he descended the mountain’s face, but the temperature drastically changed from below freezing to a temperature one would expect on the beaches in summer. Beads of sweat collected on his brow; his jacket which felt barely thick enough to retain any warmth now felt stifling.

He chuckled quietly to himself, muttering as he removed his gear. “Ah og en annen drink. Det ser ut til at dette palasset er i stand til å ha temperert vær på toppen av fjellene som er under frysepunktet.” Dripping with the last remnants of snow, his parka hung between the top flap of the backpack and the main compartment. Tor wiped the sweat from his brow, slung one strap of the bag over his shoulder, and then looked up to take in the scenery up close for the first time.

Several feet away a courtyard of sorts with an enormous bowl with a fire burning within it sat at the center. He made his way closer with slow and cautious steps. As he neared the courtyard he walked between a tower and some sort of large building. To both his surprise and unsurprise, he noticed a small figure not much further away from the central fire bowl as he. It was safe to assume she was there for the same reason as him and everyone else.

Continuing a slow and cautious approach to the center of the courtyard, Tor scanned the area from left to right. There were five doorways which were built into the walls of the valley. One, in particular, stood out to him—that of cedarwood with shields adorning both doors.

Yesterday

“Um...Ma’am?”

“Hm?”

“You do realize that there is a sneak in the passenger seat...Right?”

“...Yeah”

“...And...Well, pets are suppose to go into the pe-

“Yeah?”

“......Ok then”

The stewardess raise her hands up in defeat as she leaves Asha and her snake alone. At this point, every passenger on this is looking Asha like a crazy lady, which it fine, she got used of the looks but this is a whole another level, she could have stay at home, enjoy her tea, enjoy her reading and what not but what is she doing? She’s on a airplane with snake, a giant-ass mirror and a sun goddess living inside of her head rent free....This is her life now.

“Are we there yet? I feel like we been on this dragon for years” Amaterasu says impatiently “Ok, one, this is a airplane, not a dragon. And two...I don’t know, I kinda loss count...” Asha say with a sigh, she been talking non-stop since they got on the plane, mostly what to expect, like meeting other communicators, so that good sign, knowing that other people have voices in their head, next thing she knows that all of them are going to insane asylum! Yay!

"...So...Why are you in my head again?" Asha ask "Everything will be revel in due time..." "Holy shi-Ok, stop dodging my questions lady! I ask you many questions and you dodging them! Like, are gods actually real? Why are you talking to me now after all these years? How in the fuck did a small snake carry a big mirror around? How did he gets those plane tickets?" "Why is everyone staring at you?" Asha immediately stop as she look around and see that everyone is looking at her like she's crazy......Ok, well play. whatever this "Sky Palace" is, at least won't be in the mountains....Right?

Today

"You should have say it was in the fucking mountains!" Asha say loudly as the snowy breeze keep hitting her in the face "Well, it is set in New Hampshire, you kinda expect it to been in the mountains" All did Amaterasu say was go over there, over there and over there, she was just pointing at directions. Flameo is inside of Asha jacket while the two ladies are arguing and beside all of this, the snake is the only good thing that came from all of this. Asha always want to have a pet when she was a kid but her parents always refuse, she wonders if other communicators have pets too?

Asha pet thinking was cut short however, when she see something in the distance, it almost look like a castle "....There is it, Asha...The Sky Palace" The palace look really big and beautiful actually, like ones in the movies. As she step forward to get the better look of the palace, Asha spot group near the place, are those the communicators? All of them look young, she kinda thought some of them were old people but thank god, she doesn't want to be flirt by a old guy.

Asha quickly but carefully run toward the palace to catch up with the group "Ah! Oh! Oh Shit!" but then quickly fall face first on to the snow, making a complete fool of herself "...I hope that you'll be on your best behaver, Asha" Amaterasu say to Asha, who reply with a middle finger at her head. Asha finally made it to the palace and went inside with the others, she carefully take off her jacket with Flameo popping out and slither into Asha shoulder.

These other Communicators sure were an eclectic bunch. The kind of tricks they could pull; summoning bandages from nothing, creating magic out of music, shape shifting, and an unbreakable guitar? They were all a far sight more grandiose than just imparting knowledge, though the alien instincts and memories in her head were anything but mundane.

Akeno walked over to the cliff edge and peered down at the valley hundreds of feet below and the ostentatious palace that was their destination. There was no way down the sheer drop, other than the one that the others had created for them. It occurred to her that had she not run into them here, then she would have had no way down from this ledge by herself; she hadn’t thought to bring any climbing gear with her, only winter clothing for the cold, had wouldn’t know how to use it even if she had.

Her god had led her down a path that she had no ability to reach the end of. Had it known she would meet others along the way, or has this been a test of some kind?

She let out a sigh. Takemikazuchi had made it clear, during their first conversation, that it did not consider her worthy; her being selected as a Communicator had sounded like something that the god was forced to do, his arm twisted by circumstance more than anything else. Akeno wouldn’t put it past him to place roadblocks ahead of her, expecting her to either figure a way out herself or fail.

Or die.

Well, she expected to have another conversation with him soon; in person this time. They could hash this out then.

Once the first person had descended the bandages, Akeno followed suit. She’d never been climbing before, or abseiling; she clutched the makeshift rope in a death grip the entire way down the Cliffside, but both her grip and the bandages themselves held under she found her feet on solid ground. She stepped away to give the next person down room to stand and turned around to look at the palace from a much more pleasant vantage point.

“More people here than I expected.”

Jo startled when she heard a sudden greeting from behind her. The mountain had been so uninhabited and quiet that she had thought she was alone. Apparently not. She turned around quickly, anticipating another Communicator. And that is exactly what she found. The woman who stood before her looked about her age, with the same confusion written across her face that Jo felt. That’s where the similarities between them ended. This woman (girl, more likely), looked to be East Asian. She was tall for a woman, but Jo was taller and towered over her.

She contemplated her answer to the girl’s question for a moment. It would be strange to say no, but yes wasn’t an admission Jo had made to anyone yet. It felt personal. Ultimately, Josephine nodded, unsmiling. “... I am.” She didn’t offer a name or a god and didn’t ask for one in return. This other girl would soon find out, anyways. Group introductions seemed safer.

In a flash, Jo saw someone enter the white and then… disappear. Several someones- a group of women, it looked like. Her heart pumped in her ears. “It looks like people have begun to cross,” she murmured. “We should get going. It would be impolite to be late.”

Without waiting for the girl next to her, Jo started to walk forward, towards the white. She didn’t look back as she crossed the threshold into what she hoped would be a new world.

Jo emerged in a fantasy wonderland. She gasped, a strange euphoria filling every inch of her. This place… it was beautiful. She could scarcely believe she had been on that mountain not even seconds ago. Doors sprouted up from nothing, wrought in beautiful architectural styles that had no right looking as good as they did next to each other. She descended the path gingerly, walking towards the central palace. She could already see a few more women standing there, clad in winter gear, much like her. Warily, she approached, seeing an unnatural purple flame before them. She stopped behind them, her dog beside her. He seemed more at home here than he was anywhere else, and he showed it. Kevin laid down on the floor, content to doze while Josephine stared at the valley.

“This place is incredible,” she whispered, more to herself than anyone. Maybe that other girl was still behind her. She hoped so- it would’ve been awkward to just leave her on the mountain.

Kijani was a little surprised that this man also seemed to be a Communicator. Moreso that he was so open to talking about it. Thoth had sworn her to secrecy, which was easy as she really didn’t have anyone to tell.

“I was told ‘up’, more or less, so that is where I went.” She sighed softly. “At least there are two of us now.” She walked up to the shimmering air, and pressed her fingers against it. There was clearly something there, though she didn’t know what. “I’m not sure where to go from here.”

Before she could contact Thoth, however, the barrier beneath her fingertips gave way with a little pop of displaced air. She stumbled in a less than graceful fashion due to the surprise, but quickly regained stable footing and composure. A hand went to her kopesh, rather quickly considering how little she used it. Luckily, there was no need.

Before her was one of the most beautiful buildings she had ever laid eyes on. It gleamed in the light, almost dazzling her with its brightness. She stared at it, noting the lovely marble of the columns, the wide expanse of the stairs. Everything was perfect. Kijani was actually sad that she didn’t know more about architecture, otherwise she could understand the true beauty of the place.

“Well. I guess that answers that question.” She turned to the strange man nearby. “This must be a place fit for the Gods. Shall we?”

Akane nodded at Josephine's response. "Good, you felt like a communicator, your looks and mannerisms indicate that. I just felt the need to be polite an ask for your confirmation."

Before she felt the need to introduce herself however. She noticed a group of three woman crossing into the gate, seemingly oblivious to the presence of the duo, this perplexed and intrigues her, did they see them? Or was there something else at play? Akane's face when she sees the group waltz into the wall indicated curiosity. "Could it be that there is a dimensional aspect to this realm?" She silently muttered to herself. No matter, the moment Josephine walked in, Akane quickly followed suit. Not wanting to get left behind just like that.

And surely enough, the scenery in front of her astounded the woman. Quite unlike anything she has ever seen, a veritable paradise really, judging from all the greenery and brilliant, but admittedly dated architecture. In a sense, it juxtaposed her own experiences of living in Japan, Japan was a land where old traditions is slowly giving way to modern sentiments, but nonetheless finding a way to cling on to it in quite unique ways, it can be seen in the temples flanked by huge skyscrapers, the people taking selfies at ancient shrines, and the fast trains blitzing across an otherwise serene countryside.

This Sky Palace though, seems like a place where tradition reigned supreme. She could see Greek, Celtic, Norse, and Japanese architecture all merging into a weird mix of cultures, but nonetheless maintaining it's age old appearance. It feels like one of the many Isekai manga worlds she frequently read about. Some areas of the world felt Japanese, some felt Western, but all of them looked medieval. And this is exactly what the Sky Palace looked like.

"A most interesting mix, wouldn't you say?" She inquired to the Communicator she just met recently. "I feel more like in a set for some High Fantasy novel than any place in the real world. Oh, where are my manners."

Quickly catching up to Josephine. Akane bowed and smiled afterwards. "Greetings, I am Akane Mitsui, I hail from Japan, and currently bearing the responsibility of being a Communicator to Inari Okami. What about yourself?"
