"So, what, I go feast and battle with the Midgardians for a year or twenty? Sounds like a vacation to me. I haven't been to Midgard in like five hundred years, but I can't imagine it's changed all that much."
Thor is a young god, comparatively speaking. Hardly more than a few millennia old, like a newborn star Thor's character is an explosion of heat and light. His days are filled with hunting and battle, and his nights overflow with mead, feasting, and wenches. Or they were, until his father, Odin Allfather, Lord of the Aesir and King of the Nine Realms, foresaw a terrible future. Without sharing his vision, he cast Thor out of the celestial longhouse of Valhalla and exiled him to Midgard; Earth. Claiming that he was unfit to serve as his heir, Odin proclaimed that Prince Thor would be exiled until he could lift the hammer Mjölnir and claim it for his own. Odin had the weapon commissioned by the finest Dwarf smiths in the cosmos on the day of Thor's birth. Forged of mystic uru starmetal, the hammer has a mind of its own, and will not allow itself to be lifted by any except those it deems worthy. For ages it has sat in Odin's vault, waiting for a master worthy enough to claim it.
Even without the weapon written in his destiny, Prince Thor is mighty. As both God of Thunder and a Prince of Asgard, Thor is imbued with divine strength and cosmic power. Thor commands lighting, storms, and weather of all kinds, though without Mjölnir he is cut off from the divine magic of the Allfather. The Prince was not exiled to Midgard unarmed, and carries Jarnbjorn, the Iron Bear, a dwarf-crafted axe forged from Asgardian steel; though not enchanted it is a weapon finer than any earthly make. However, for all of his strength, power, and skill at arms, the young Prince is far from invincible. He proves his own worst enemy more often than not; quick to anger, slow to forgive, brash, arrogant, impulsive, and entitled; the barbarian of Odin's court. These traits are unlikely to win him friends on Midgard, especially considering that his last visit predated the printing press.

Prince Thor has many ideas about how to spent his exile and the conditions under which it will end; few of these have any merit. In order to claim his birthright and end his exile, Thor must not only prove to be a worthy prince, but a hero and protector of Earth. Though many rogues and other foes bar his path, including mad scientists and sorcerers from Earth, as well as the meddling of his jealous, adopted elder brother Loki. Along the way Thor may meet allies, rivals, or even find love, and could possibly discover a shocking secret about his own parentage.

I'm picturing a Thor/Asgard/etc that is somewhere between Norse myth and recent Thor interpretations, and as such he is essentially a God from space. Emphasis on Captial-G God, I have a whole thing cooked up involving the Godwave and how all that shit works.
Here are written the deeds of THE MIGHTY THOR:
