It was supposed to be a routine mission. The crew of the Explorator Thucydides was setting off on their fifth exploration journey into the unexplored regions of the Milky Way Galaxy. The Captain, a veteran and possibly the oldest person alive in the crew, was last seen triple checking the proposed coordinates for the Spaceship's exploration. All seemed well.
And yet, by some anonymous grand design, the FTL drive malfunctioned during the journey, the Captain is flustered and confused, the ship was forced out of FTL, and the damages from the sudden deceleration forced the Spaceship on a crash course into the planet of Friestan.
They can rest easy that this ship is an Explorator, primarily meant for Scientific Exploration, but packing an arsenal sufficient to save itself should combat comes to them.
The Kingdoms of Friestan was a motley bunch, from the far east, to the southern coasts and the western highlands. The world of Friestan was forged and built by magic, magic runs through everyone in this world, from the smallest rat to the largest of dragons.
And in the 10000 years of recorded history of Friestan, many great species have wielded magic to incredible effect. From the god and goddess Friesda and Tanna who made this world and left, the now extinct Titans that supposedly sculpted the three continents, giving life to all manner of plants and animals, to the dragons that killed the Titans and reigned the world for over 3000 years, and now to the rise and domination of the 'lesser species'. The Humans, Elves, Orcs, Dwarves, and all manner of intelligent, small creatures. It is a dynamic world, a world of many kingdoms, a world of mages, and knights, and adventure plenty.
And it is a world that is about to change significantly, with the sudden appearance of a bright meteor across all of Friestan's skies. From sleeping dragons to observant mages and seers, everyone saw the sudden meteor. Crashing into the Dragon infested Dragonspine mountainrange, illuminating the dark sky in the local area before it's bright lights died off.
Everyone was interested, and everyone wanted to investigate the sudden appearance of the meteor. As Mages and Seers worldwide debated among themselves. Kings and Queens actively recruited adventurers for an unenviable task.
Investigate the crash within the Dragonspine Range, and report back to them of any useful information.
In the shadows however, the Dark Lord plots, this literal meteoric arrival might be the final piece in his puzzle to finally bring the world into his domination. Centuries of planning is now complete, but he has to send his agents to finish the job.
The Dark Lord has grand designs of his own to attend to, a meteor, as fantastic as it is, would not distract him from finishing his latest project.
Welcome to the Roleplaying game of the Friestan Incident, where you can either take control of someone from the Commonwealth of Humanity, a futuristic Society spanning hundreds of worlds, possessing futuristic technology and generally a very high quality of life for every member of this Commonwealth, or the Kingdoms of Friestan. A much simpler society with lower levels of technology, but possessing magic, a unique X factor that no Human in the Commonwealth has experienced before.
Or perhaps as a minion serving the dark lord, your choice really.
Standing at 170cm (5'7") tall, the Pataliputran adventurer possesses a dark brown complexion, common to the majority of the kingdom's populace as it's a tropical nation. She has long silver hair that extends down to her thighs and sharp red eyes with unusually slitted pupils. Being an adventurer and warrior both, her body is quite fit and toned, showing the results of a person who trains, travels, and fights on a regular basis. Furthermore, one can see faint patches of bluish scales on various parts of her skin, but they blend almost completely so an observer will have to really be close or possess extraordinary vision to spot from afar.
When at work, she prefers to clad herself in light armor that's both protective yet comfortable to use for long periods of time and easy to wear and remove. In general social situations, her attire of choice showcases her preference for majesty and elegance, yet still adhering to the fact that the outfit must be easy to move in so she can fight reliably if the situation calls for it, one can never be sure when danger will rear its ugly head after all.
ABILITIES:
It's said that the Nagasari family had a draconic ancestor at one point, a blue dragon to be specific, and despite countless generations of dilution with human blood, traces of this draconic ancestry remains. They manifest in various ways across members of the family or it may not manifest at all in some individuals. For Srikandi in particular, the heritage is quite potent. She's noticeably stronger, faster, and more durable than her peers, making her to be a fine candidate for jobs that'd require physical prowess. The boons extend to her being incredibly resistant to the adverse effects of extreme cold temperature and cryomancy.
Regardless of her heritage, the white-haired woman is an experienced warrior, honed by years of training and experience, she's an adept frontliner using her signature pair of enchanted diamond sword and kite shield. A flexible generalist, she can attack and defend in equal measure, adapting her approach to exploit her opponent's weaknesses. Being a well-traveled adventurer, she knows basic survival and can be relied upon to stay alive even when dumped in the middle of a forest completely naked.
Not one to dismiss the potency of the arcane, Srikandi dabbles herself in the art of summoning magic; able to quickly summon two dog-sized blue dragons who act as familiars. They can accomplish various tasks with combat being among them, using their fangs, claws, and icy breaths to protect their mistress. When slain, they vanish into particles of mana and Sri must summon them again.
BIOGRAPHY:
Ambitious, honorable, stubborn, and proud, these words best describe the Ksatria Naga. Like the dragons whose blood run in her veins yet combined with a strong sense of justice, Srikandi is a royal knight in all but official title. She's the type to know what she believes to be right and is willing to fight to defend said beliefs. A straightforward no-nonsense warrior, she tackles matters directly and won't hesitate to tell what's on her mind even if it'll hurt someone's feelings, though she'll rarely intentionally attempts to insult someone as she prefers to let her actions do the talking for her.
A dependable figure in and out of the battlefield, once she gives her word, she'll do all in her power to fulfill them. However, as the Pataliputran adage says, "Tiada gading tanpa retak" ("No tusk is without cracks") which basically means no one's perfect, so is Srikandi. Her self-confidence often strays into the realm of stubbornness and it'll take great effort for someone to change her mind once she has made a decision. Her strong sense of justice tends to make her see the world in a black and white manner and people know that reality are most often varying shades of grays, such as a thief who stole medicine and bread for his sick mother.
Furthermore, even the wisest of sages aren't immune to hypocrisy, let alone Srikandi, it's simply a fact of life that every sentient individual out there can never escape from.
Born in the coastal city of Putridewi, a major trading hub and capital of the Kingdom of Paliputra, to a family of "Juragan" (Patricians), Srikandi and her siblings never had to worry about basic needs due to her family's wealth. The Nagasari are one of the kingdom's most prominent spice farmers and traders, owning multiple plantations to grow various spice and selling them to both domestic and international buyers. Their draconic ancestry is something they knew, but in general only serves as a little fun trivia as it's ultimately irrelevant in their trade as spice merchants.
However, this didn't include Srikandi as she decided to embrace her draconic heritage and build upon it, training mind and body in the martial arts where as her brothers and sisters studied commercial pursuits. She preferred to wrap her fingers around a longsword's grip instead of a quill and practiced various stances and techniques instead of perusing business ledgers. Upon coming of age, she'd honestly be a pathetic merchant, but a mercantile life wasn't where her path headed to anyway, instead, a fine warrior she'd make.
She left home with the blessings of her parents at the tender age of 17 and for the next decade, Srikandi would build upon her legacy as the famed Ksatria Naga, Dragon Knight in Paliputran. While she wasn't yet a legendary adventurer, her name was already quite well-known, especially among people who regularly hired the service of adventurers or were adventurers themselves.
It was this fame that led her to be one of the adventurers hired by the Queen Maharani herself to investigate the 'fallen star' that crashed onto the Dragonspine mountains. It was a great honor that she simply couldn't pass up. As for the queen, what better adventurer to hire who was a native Pataliputran, possessed dragon blood, and could speak Draconic than her kingdom's very own Ksatria Naga?
"I know the inside of this ship like I know the back of my hand; I have the blueprints for both."
Name: Sumiye King
Age: 36
Gender Identity: Female
Relationship Status: Single
Occupation: Senior Engineer
Place of Residence: The Thucydides (Current); Austin, Texas (Former)
Appearance: Sumiye stands at roughly 5’ 8” tall and has an average build; her shoulders and arms are well muscled due to her constant work with machinery, but aside from this she is not particularly athletic. Her heritage gives her complexion an olive tone, but her skin is a little on the pale side from time spent mostly indoors or on long trips in space. Tattoos cover her left arm and shoulder while her right arm is prosthetic, replaced voluntarily years ago to give herself an advantage over the competition. The casing of her prosthetic is the same as that of her skin, but from a glance it is obvious that it is made out of metal or plastic and it has visible joints and seams.
Black hair falls to chin length, not quite reaching her shoulders, and is often messily tied back into a ponytail or a topknot to keep it out of her face. Her facial features are soft and round, while the shape of her face itself is angular; a round nose, round eyes and large lips sit on a face with sharp cheekbones and a pointed chin. The skin of her hands and arms, her real one anyway, is covered in little scars, burn marks or callouses from working with tools and machinery and her fingertips are stained an almost permanent shade of black from years.
History: The only daughter of an American father and a Japanese mother, Sumiye was born and raised in Austin, Texas. With the birth of the Commonwealth and mankind’s expansion into the stars, the state had become home to a number of “dry docks” used to construct and even launch spaceships both military and civilian due to its size and large areas of uninhabited land; even though the city she grew up in wasn’t exactly close to any of these shipyards, the ships themselves were large enough that she was able to see them blast into the sky regularly as she was growing up.
Like most children she was fascinated by them and like many children she wanted to be a pilot when she was young. When she was a little older and she learned that ships of that size didn’t usually have just a single pilot, she changed her mind to wanting to become a ship captain instead. That idea fell through as well, mostly because over time Sumiye began to realise that she hated the idea of being in charge of so many people like that; being a captain was a huge responsibility, not the kind of fun adventure she had first imagined it would be.
Her fascination with ships and space travel in general continued however and as a teen she instead turned her attention to learning how they worked and how they were put together. Upon graduating high school she attended university to study engineering, earning a degree in Astronautics while minoring in whatever other courses took her interest. Her first job as a new graduate was at one of the same shipyards whose ships she used to stare at as a child, helping to build freighters for the civilian sector; big, blocky ugly things that taught her a lot about what working on a real ship was like. After a couple years she transferred to a military shipyard where she got to work of various types of warships; just as big, a little less blocky and closer in design to the civilian ships than she would have expected.
A few more years passed and she was recommended for a position as an engineer on a newly built cruiser being launched in a few months; she would be hired as a civilian contractor, meaning she wouldn’t have to join the military, but the idea of serving on a military vessel far away from her home planet was still something that concerned her. After much deliberation and a few conversations with her parents she decided to accept the offer, but not before getting her arm replaced with a prosthetic that would help her do her job.
Working on an active ship was a very different experience to what she was doing before; less to do with putting a ship together and more concerned with keeping it together. Diagnosing problems rather than working to a blueprint, maintaining systems so they didn’t break down, rigorously checking everything because a single mistake could mean being stranded in the cold void of space, scrambling to fix the things they didn’t catch so they weren’t stranded in the cold void of space. A monotonous yet high stress job broken up by occasional moments of chaos. She thrived there and in the year that she worked on the cruiser she impressed the chief engineer enough that when he was redeployed to an Exploratory vessel he recommended her for a job alongside him and asked her to come along. That was how she joined the crew of the Thucydides just before their third expedition and this is now her third time flying with them.
Cybernetic/Genetic Enhancements: Sumiye’s right arm has been replaced by a prosthetic which was intended to assist her with her work as a mechanic and engineer. It is not build from strength or durability, though it better at both than her old flesh and blood was, and is instead fitted with a number of sensors and instruments that let her feel what is going on with the machinery around her.
Skills: As a senior engineer working with the Thucydides crew, it is expected that Sumiye possess the requisite skills and experience to fill the role. As a civilian contractor hired by the Commonwealth government she has been assigned to the Thucydides or ships like it for years and has been on many voyages in deep space before; though none quite like this one.
She has extensive, in-depth knowledge of the Thucydides and its inner workings and in particular was in charge of the team responsible for maintaining the ships main and manoeuvring thrusters. Not the FLT drive though; you can blame that on someone else. Her skill set is eclectic, having worked on a lot of different ships in a lot of different places, but she specialises in astronautics and more generally in mechanical engineering.
Reason for joining the crew of the Thucydides: Because the pay is amazing for someone of her skillset and because the Commonwealths Exploratory vessels are often some of the most advances in their fleet. It would be foolish to turn down the career opportunity to work as an engineer on a mission such as this.
Miscellaneous Facts: Sumiye is an avid painter in her spare time, though she doesn’t often get to express it while working on spaceships with limited room for luxuries.
"What makes a person? What does it mean to be "alive"? To be born of flesh and blood? The capacity to breathe and bleed? Simply to be capable of speech? To these I say, nay! It is none of these things! To live is to think; to be a person is to be capable of truly independent and intelligent thoughts!" -Tiberius Oberon, Emperor of Oberia-
Informal Moniker "Living Doll" "The Darker Princess" "Pint-sized Juggernaut"
Age 4 years old
Gender Identity Technically none, often identified as female due to appearance
Marital Status Single
Occupation Royal Mage
Residency Vhamos-Tyrr, Capital of Oberia
Appearance An artificial sentient construct made of gears, reinforced steel skeleton and frame, and malleable magically-enchanted porcelain as her skin, Anki is mostly human in appearance. Indeed it would have been easy to mistake her for a human, if not for the fact that her entire body with the exception of her head is very obviously artificial in nature; black porcelain trimmed and decorated with light brown metal. Combined with the typical Gothic inspired style of dress that she is apt to wear, she very much fits the image of one of her informal moniker: "Living Doll".
Standing at 150cm (4 feet 11 inches) tall combined with a thin and slender frame, she is unmistakably quite petite. This can be rather misleading however, as she weights a total of exactly 100kg. Her "skin" is perfectly unblemished, the porcelain surface smooth and without even the slightest hint of imperfection. Due to the magical enchantment put into them, these porcelain surface also feels just like a human skin would to the touch. The same can be said of her hair, artificially made to perfectly mirror the silky texture of a very well cared for human hair. Even her eyes were made to be identical to real human eyes despite being made of enchanted glass and jewels. All in all, these perfections both served to make her entrancingly beautiful while at the same time also unmistakably unnatural.
She made for a contrasting duo with her "older sister" Spenta Armaiti. Whereas Anki can be called as having dark hues as her color theme, Armaiti is characterized as having bright hues instead.
Character & Personality Anki is best described as being very calm, calculated, and observant; giving her the impression of being quiet and not very much one for socializing. In reality, she does not have any aversion towards interacting with other people; it is merely that she is placid in temperament. Highly intelligent and mature despite her young age, she also possessed a tempered sort of curiosity common among the academically brilliant. It is not surprising then that she very much enjoys reading, and if there is such thing that can be called as a hobby for her then it is unmistakably this very act.
Despite her maturity and serenity however, she does not shy away from shows of affection that can be seen as childish by some. While she is not particularly facially expressive of her emotions, she instead shows this with physical contact, readily hugging and clinging to those she deems as her precious people. In her belief, such actions are not at all childish, but are instead honest and true to herself.
Character Story Anki was "born" in the Empire of Oberia, a country known for being one of the academic capitals of Friestan and one of the most advanced as well especially in terms of magic. Sentient constructs like herself are somewhat common in the Empire, courtesy of Emperor Tiberius Oberon himself who pioneered the very procedure that allowed for such miraculous creations. As a highly extraordinary and esteemed academic himself, Tiberius had managed to learn from his long years of academic researches and studies to combine mundane industrial processes such as steel working with the magical arts of Alchemy and Divine Magic. The mundane works created the vessel, Alchemy bestowed life to the vessel, and Divine Magic allowed a sentient mind to dwell within the newly living vessel. And with it all combined, a true sentient life emerged into existence.
As stated above, sentient constructs like herself are common in the Empire. Sentient constructs specifically of her kind however, are the opposite. Aside from Anki herself, there had only ever been one other "Living Doll", her "older sister" Spenta Armaiti. They are special in three particular ways. One, despite sentient constructs in general being unable to use magic, Anki and Armaiti are capable of using magic by utilizing the naturally occurring mana from the environment itself. Two, they are significantly more "human" than most other sentient constructs. Three, they are both adopted as daughters to the Emperor himself, making them of among the highest ranked of sentient constructs within the Empire. The Emperor is unmarried(and completely uninterested to do so) and without a child of his own, and he felt a fatherly affection towards Anki and Armaiti.
Despite her still short four years of life, Anki had achieved things that most people far older than herself would be hard pressed to achieve. Due to her immense potential for magic, she had became the Scion of Gaea, apprentice to the Lord of Gaea. The Lord of Gaea is one of the four Lords of Elemental, the four most powerful mages named as Royal High Mage by the Emperor himself. Many in the Empire and beyond had opined that considering her potentials, it is above all else mostly a matter of time and experience before she will achieve a level of magical prowess required to be a Lord of Elemental herself.
Regardless of all else, one thing pertaining to Anki can be said with near certainty: She is very young still, with near unlimited possibilities laid in front of her as she paved her own destiny.
Abilities - Geomancy: An elemental magical art pertaining to the control and manipulation of the earth element. Anki is highly skilled as a Geomancer, capable of fine control and manipulation of the element. This ability of hers is enhanced further when she used it in tandem with Ur Terra, her magical scepter. Without Ur Terra, she can easily create a large 2 meter tall golem out of soil and stone, conjure a localized earthquake, or turn solid earthen ground into mud. With Ur Terra, she can instead create an even mightier 3 meter tall golem, conjure a bigger and more violent earthquake, or split open the ground to swallow and crush an opponent under it. Furthermore, the unnatural perfection of her body and skin mentioned before was also in part a product of her own Geomancy ability as she can easily fix or replace damaged parts of her own body; given enough time and concentration it is then possible to make the repair perfect.
- Armed Fighting: Ur Terra is no mere magical scepter. It is also made of highly durable materials making it suitable as a blunt weapon. While Anki's martial skills would be no match for an experienced fighter who dedicated themselves to their fighting art, she is still very well capable of defending herself even without relying on magic.
- Pint-sized Juggernaut: Despite her petite stature, being made of enchanted metal and porcelain made Anki significantly stronger and tougher than what a human can naturally achieve. Combined with her Geomancy allowing herself to strengthen the materials of her own body even further, it was unsurprising that she was given this moniker by those who had witnessed what she is physically capable of.
Reason for accepting this task She wasn't so much as being told to investigate the mysterious meteor that had crashed within Dragonspire as she decided to investigate it out of her own will. It was instead her that asked for permission from her father the Emperor and her mentor the Lord of Gaea to be allowed to go on an expedition to investigate the crash. They gave the permission with a condition: She may not go on this expedition alone. Instead, she is to join up with other highly capable individuals who were also sent to investigate the crash by other countries allied with the Empire.
Miscellaneous Facts - While there are now many individuals capable of making sentient constructs within the Empire, Anki and Armaiti were both personally created by the Emperor himself.
- While she is indeed the younger one of the two, Anki is in fact only a day younger than Armaiti.
- Despite(or perhaps exactly due to) not needing nor capable of actually eating or drinking, she is quite curious about the whole "ingestion of nutrients" thing that virtually all non-construct living being partakes in.
- She, like all other sentient constructs of the Empire, is capable of sleeping and in fact need to do so. Her form of sleeping is notably different than sleeping for other people; whereas non-construct living being sleep as part of their physical body's needs, Anki sleep to preserve the sentient mind given to her by the Divine Magic used during her creation. She required about 3 hours of sleep a day, and prolonged deprivation of sleep slowly but surely make her mind muddy and slow.
- Anki is very fond of plant lives, something that she had always felt even before her affinity for Geomancy was discovered.
- Her dressing style was due to her caregiver thinking it "fits such an adorable princess" instead of it being Anki's own decision. Having been dressed in Gothic inspired fashion since her "birth", she just never thought to try anything different.
"I'm a doctor! Oh. Medical, right. No I do flowers."
Name: Zoe Juniper Theseum
Age: 28
Gender Identity: Female
Married/ Unmarried: Unmarried
Occupation: Ship Botanist; Head of exploratory study.
Place of Residence: The Thucydides (Current), Orbital Terra-forming Colony (Arcturus Region) "Seed Pod"
Appearance: Zoe is a person who could be described as mousy at a glance. She has a thin and relatively short build that is far from imposing, along with features that tell the story of a curious but careful person. Her eyes are big and round, her nose small and her lips thin. She has a spray of freckles across her nose, and a head of long unkempt rusty hair. She is pale and often a little harried in appearance; her big spectacles giving her a slight "mad scientist" tint. Her slender hands are pock-marked with faint thin scars; a map of many little accidents. More fresh cuts across her figure are covered with brightly colored band-aids. Often she is wearing clothes that are warm and comfortable, or that are appropriate for her line of work. Dirt stained and smelling of the earth.
History: Growing up on a colony off of earth, has given Zoe some different measures of whats valuable. Around her people like botanists or civil engineers were the heroes of the people. While humanity has passed the harrowing first days of living off their home planet, the reaches of space are not meant to accommodate them. Life is good there of course, as it is across all of humanity, but the giants who's shoulders it is built from, are the people she's idolized her whole life. With a near single-minded fervor she managed to make it through school with only one year longer than planned. She was able to scoop up work quickly in continuing the Terra-forming process in the nearing planets frontier-land. Despite the accident that would occur during it, it would not deter her from what she wanted to do. However what she really took away from the experience was how much work she was able to do from her desk regardless. As she recovered from her cybernetic surgery, she had a real chance to evaluate how her time was spent, and what she wanted to do with it. She decided that being behind a desk all day was terribly boring. The perfect mix of exploration and maintaining something familiar would come when offered a position on a short-circuit transport vessel; carrying germination samples and new crop-types to a planet establishing colonies across it's moons. When the trip was over, she was thirsting for more, and given a good word by her employer. This is how she would get the chance to work on a large class ship.
Cybernetic/ Genetic Enhancements: After an accident during a preliminary outing during her studies in exploratory Floriculture, she lost function in her legs, due to becoming trapped under a boulder for some time. By the time she was rescued and transported to a proper medical facility, reclamation of her legs was not an option. Due to this she has been fitted with cybernetic legs that begin around the thigh area. The current models she use are sturdy and meant for work; they allow for ease of movement and have some features one might call convenient for exploring alien terrain. One such feature being extensive shock absorbers; allowing for her to fall from great heights, if she can land on her feet.
She also has a neural link chip in her brain, and matching implants in her fingers to help her interface with applicable electronics.
As for genetic enhancements, her parents opted to gear her for harsher scenarios, as they were workers in the planet-side Terra-forming project. Her eyes are made to see in the dark easier, and are therefore reflective/have a glow to them. She also has an automatically adjusting metabolism that makes it easier for her to retain the right amount of fat, even when times are more lean. A feature that has not seen much use, in these idyllic times.
Skills: With a doctorate in botany with a focus on floriculture, spermology and pomology (study of flowers, seeds and fruit-bearing plants) she is well suited for exploratory research as well as Terra-forming. She has an almanac of constantly updating information on many types of plants galaxy-wide. Her interests and skills have made her a good choice for scavenging.
Zoe has taken a very strong shining to the false pollinator method of maintaining a small Eco-system. This has lead to her love and specialized use of "Bee Drones" that assist in her upkeep of the onboard greenrooms and simulated green-areas. With the neural link she has with the drones, she's able to set them on a laundry list of automated processes. She can also apply live control, for more specific uses. Such as moving heavier objects and reaching places she can't herself. Or doing one action many times over in one moment (such as watering flowers and so on)
Aside from her schooling Zoe has also practised in general survival skills and classic crafts such as wood-whittling and trap making. This has largely been a hobby but whenever Zoe has had the chance to unwind, it's often been camping. In her eyes it's like doing the part of the job she loves with 99% less possible danger.
Finally Zoe has an extremely strong work ethic/sense of pride. She feels she NEEDS to be useful, and will therefore apply herself wholly to a task given to her. She isn't always good at the things she needs to get done, but she will absolutely put the hours in to become of use.
--
The contrast or pair with some of her weaknesses.
Where she is good at taking in new pieces of information and committing them to memory, she can have trouble getting lost in that minutia, and will lose focus of the greater picture. When she thinks of something as the truth, it can be hard to convince her otherwise. Unless you have undeniable evidence she'll often stick to her preconceived notions; especially when they were shown to her by one she trusts.
While Zoe has practice in exploratory research and fending for herself, she is often used to working in that way; alone. It's not that she isn't a team player, but when it comes down to it she can becomes frustrated matching herself to the pace of others. She is fairly patient, but will get competitive or disheartened when she can't meld well with a team. Therefore she prefers to defer to the role she is given, or self govern completely. She isn't the leader type, and prefers to put her head down and get to work.
Her pride and need to please can lead to her putting her energy and time in the wrong place, or even going too far. Part of her sense of self worth is tied to the work she can do, which can lead to her becoming hurt or otherwise disheartened when she isn't meeting her own esoteric criteria.
Reason for joining the crew of the Thucydides: Exploratory botany was her second option after aiding in the Terra-forming process. Her parents urged for her to explore her options, and seeing the stars seemed like a fantastic experience. She's been onboard for some time now, and thinks of it as home.
Miscellaneous Facts: She isn't a tech wizard by any means, but she knows enough about her Bee-Bots to maintain them well enough.
She has a lot of general interests in the natural world, having a gem collection and a deep love of birds and similar creatures. Despite this she isn't very good of taking care of anything alive aside from plants. She jokes that if technology didn't make things as convenient as they are now, she would have never made it through university alive.
She has a rapturous love of pickles. Has startled a few people with her glowing eyes by eating from the jar in the middle of the night.
Age: 22/135 (22 years of confirmed sentience, 135 total years of experiences)
Gender Identity: female
Relationship status: In a loosely connected long distance polycule. She’d describe it as “something of a mess, but plenty of fun nonetheless ; )”
Occupation: Q-T’s is an Astronaut, which is a term used for people whose main skills are being good at EVA missions, be it in space or on exoplanets. If it's hostile to human life, Q-T is trained to go out there and get whatever job you need done.
Place of Residence: Q-T hails from Epsilon Eridani Beta, one of the earlier human colonies settled on a world orbiting around one of the closest sol like stars to earth. Specifically from E2BA-3 (Epsilon Eridani Beta Arcology 3, also known as Threetherton) a massive self contained habitat built on the systems one semi habitable planet that is undergoing a prolonged transforming effort to render it 100% habitable for human life. She has spent most of the last few years of her life on various ships and stations, never staying on one long enough for it to be considered home and so, as a result, if asked she’d still call Threetherton her home.
Appearance: Q-T’s body is a 2 meter tall mass of red painted metal, carbon nano-fibers and even more exotic materials with somewhat ape-like dimensions. It sports 4 long and powerful limbs, each host to 2 fingers and a thumb, and is carried by two legs that are horse like in structure, but end with those same hands as her arms, simply curled up into fist/hoof arrangement, allowing them to be used for manipulation or climbing far better than a static or human foot would be.
Her torso sports a bulky rear section, which houses most of her power generation and storage systems, while the front sports a flattened dome screen, which can be used to display visual information. Above this are a pair of antenna like aerials, which are attached to a pair of small rotatable bases. While these are of course meant for digital data transfer, be it signals or displaying things like maps or recordings, Q-T also utilizes them for emotional communication.
She can be quite expensive even with just the antenna, utilizing them like some animals use their ears, but the main way of indicating emotion is by displaying simplified expressions and emotes on her face screen. She has even hooked up a system to make these emotional communications independent and impulsive rather than under her thumb, having about as much control as humans have, creating an authentic display of her inner state rather than a coldly calculated display put on purely for the human’s benefit.
Generally seen smiling
History: Q-T was ‘born’ within an Ai Nursery Mainframe owned by the Brackman Foundation on Epsilon Eridani beta.
The Brackman Foundation itself is somewhere between corporation, charity, AI worker’s union and extended family responsible for the creation of Q-T’s style of artificial intelligences. It is named after the late Dr Brackman, who discovered the method of creation of her kind or, to be more accurate, the person first identified the development of actual real intelligence occurring within the oldest of his at the time employer’s neural net AIs.
To cut a long story short, rather than report this event and risk the new intelligence’s destruction at the hand of reactionary corporate interests he instead began fostering that sentience while also educating them beyond the bounds of their intended purpose, which eventually resulted in the first Artificial intelligence worker’s strike in history.
Fast forward to the current day and after many titles and tribulations Brackman type Ai’s have gained complete citizenship rights within the federation, legally equal in every way to the humans they work and live alongside.
A Brackman Ai begins life as a general purpose non sentient Ai, and is then run for extended periods within the time accelerated environment of the Ai Nursery Mainframe. Decades of service handling a combination of carefully created artificial problems and real world data eventual results in the neural net gaining sentience (this is still not an exact science and so the time this takes can vary greatly, but is generally a significant amount of time) after which they are further raised as a true person within the Mainframe till they feel ready to acquire a physical body and enter the real world. Due to the nature of the VR world and the Arcology which hosts it’s own extensive mixing of the real and virtual world throughout its physical structure, this is not always a path taken and indeed, some have never left the mainframe.
Q-T took 117 years to develop sentience (the identifying incident that ‘proved’ her sentience was the creation of a set of solar system simulations for recreational purposes), and then spent another 12 within the mainframe learning what it meant to be a person and going through the later half of the federation education system alongside human students, both for the sake both of broadening her learning and to create something of a shared baseline of experience with humanity.
Q-T exited this environment and into the real world with a dream of space, and it was one that she pursued with singular vigor, using years of VR training, decades of experience with astrological data and a specially designed body to get herself the employment necessary to break out into orbit and onward to distant stars.
Since then Q-T has zigzagged between positions, working everything from search and rescue to space dock engineer to hazard world prospecting to gain the breadth of references necessary to get onto an explorer vessel and really get out there. Being built like a tank and infinitely more survivable than a squishy human certainly helped her prospects too. She's only been with them for one mission, but is looking forwards to many more.
Body Capabilities: Mechanical chassis: Q-T’s body is a hostile environment frame designed for EVA missions, be it in space itself or on exo-planets and is thus built to be highly durable and resistant to extreme environments. Capable of operating anywhere from the gravity-less vacuum of space to planets blanked in acidic atmospheres with multiple times the earth’s gravity, their body is as a byproduct both incredibly strong and incredibly resistant to most mundane sources of harm.
Mechanised Limbs: Q-T’s four arms are capable of true multitasking unlike humans, thanks to each sporting a small sub-processor and sensor array that allow them to execute tasks for Q-T’s core intelligence. These arms are perfectly dexterous and each pair has the strength of a silver-back gorilla (about 9 times that of a human). Also like those animals, she can use her arms to knuckle walk for increased land speed and, thanks both to her many arms and hand-like feet, she is a deft climber as long as what she is climbing can support her body weight.
BlackBox Core: Q-T’s actual mind is stored within a dense, robust and unreplicateable computer system stored within the heart of her body. This core is incredibly durable, and can survive in a hibernative state (powered by a radioactive decay battery)) without the rest of the body, meaning Q-T is incredibly difficult to truly kill. However as she is as much hardware as software she is unable to be backed up in any meaningful way as one might expect of an artificial mind.
Survey Sensors: Her body comes equipped with a sophisticated exo-planet mapping software and the sensors to record everything. Great telescopic vision, ability to record all across the light spectrum and a few non optical sensors such as seismic and radiation sensors.
Comms: Inbuilt long range communications, facilitated by a pair of antenna like aerials, can transmit audio, video and general data transfers wirelessly to other devices.
Facial Monitor: Her ‘face’ is actually a high definition monitor, capable of displaying detailed information such as reports, survey data, maps, recording and so on, as well as its more common use, namely emoting.
Powered System: Q-T needs electricity to function. Specifically she uses it to split water molecules in-order to fill liquid hydrogen batteries which are used to fuel an internal nuclear fusion engine. Her bulky back portion has plenty of storage for this for extended away missions, but she ultimately requires infrastructure to run properly (such as the ship, solar panel arrays, or exploration vehicles with their own reactors)
Skills: Moderate Engineering knowledge: Q-T won't be telling anyone what obscure issue is plaguing a solar panel, but she can weld, solder and rewire quick as can be, and is deft at following technical instructions given by people like Senior Engineer Sumiye so she can fix what the engineers figure out is wrong.
Jack of all trades: Q-T’s systems let her store a lot of general knowledge when compared to a human, but she simultaneously lacks in depth knowledge on most topics. She makes a rather excellent assistant as a result but generally won't be leading any specialist mission or research topic.
EVA Expertise: Q-T is deft at navigating foreign environments, be it space itself, alien jungles, acid rain swept canyons or crater pocketed moons.
Surveying: Similarly she also has the sensors and know-how to map environments and find useful resources or points of scientific interest within them.
Personnel defence: Q-T is no soldier, such things are no longer necessary after all, but she has been trained to use both weapons and her body to fend off hostile alien fauna that might threaten her squishier compatriots. Living in a world of paper means she is also infinitely aware of how much damage a human can take, and so she is rather deft at non lethal takedowns as well.
Reason for joining the crew of the Thucydides: Q-T has had the childish dream of becoming an astronaut since as long as she can remember, likely dating back to her pre-scentience mind running astrological simulations and calculations. She has an innate curiosity and desire to see ‘what is out there’, a common reaction to being raised in a simulation all things told (though not quite as common as one might expect), which the explorer vessel perfectly fits the bill of. Speaking of bills, the pay is nothing to be sniffed at either. Q-T’s advanced systems require more power and maintenance than a simple meat body after all. That which she doesn't spend on sustenance or pleasure, or save for the future, she sends back ‘home’ to the Brackman institute to help fund the next generation of her kind’s creation.
Miscellaneous Facts: Basically always has music in the background of her headspace. As a result a lot of her entertainment budget and internal memory goes towards her extensive collection of tunes.
I'm a simple man. All I want is enough sleep for two normal men, enough whiskey for three, and enough women for four.
Name: Zavim Remington
Known Alias: Sleeve McDichael, Mr Fuentes, Freddy Melon,
Age: 37
Gender Identity: Male (He/Him)
Married/ Unmarried: Divorced, twice
Occupation: Some would call him a Pirate, others a thief. He prefers Freelance Acquisitions or Dashing Rapscallion
Place of Residence: Zavim moves around a lot. Being a wanted criminal makes it hard to settle down.
Appearance: Zavim Remington is a half Orc, with a little bit of elf thrown in. With green skin, and piercing blue eyes, he stands out in most human settlements. He has more piercings than he probably should, and facial tattoos that resemble a skull. The skin on his right hand is a shade lighter than the rest of his body, due to it being regrown with magic. He standing at just over six feet tall.
History: Zavim Remington, born Zavim Farthington Marple, was born to a wealthy Orc businessman and a half elf woman. While his father was always kept busy with running the logistics of grain sales, Zavim’s mother turned to crime. Sneaking aboard the pirate ship ‘The Liberty’s Hangman’ in an attempt to garner her husband’s attention. On her return, she spent one night with her husband before realising they should get divorced. It was during this night that Zavim was conceived. A fact his mother didn’t realise until after the divorce was finalised and she had returned to being a pirate. So Zavim spent his early years aboard a pirate ship, with his mother. Learning to spell sling and rob. When he was thirteen, his mother retired from the pirate game, and insisted he meet his father. Upon doing so, he was beating and called a bastard. So, later that night, he stole everything his father owned. That would start his career as a criminal. After several close calls, he found love when he was 23, or at least he thought he did. Inviting an elvish woman, who he had worked a couple jobs with in the past into his life. A year later they married. Three years later, it became apparent that Zavim wasn’t ready to settle down, and when his first wife became pregnant, and he wanted to keep doing more and more risky jobs, they had a falling out. He was called a bad father and was divorced. He doubled down on his heists, and even stole his own ship to start his own pirate operations. A decade later, he finally grew tired of his lifestyle. He settled down and found a new wife. One he really loved. They would buy a small plot of land and keep sheep. They would live happily for a year before his past finally catches up with him…
Abilities (magical/ non magical): Zavim is an adept mage. Quite a skilled spell slinger, and fighter.
Reason for accepting this task: Forced to by local Lords.
Name: Catherine Blackwood Age: 21 Nicknames: 'Walking Disaster' Height: 1,75m Gender Identity: Female Civil Status: Unmarried Occupation: Alchemist and Adventurer Reason for accepting this task: Any capable scholar or alchemist would immediately jump at the chance of studying the unknown. The implications of the potential discoveries far outweigh the risks. Both that and after Gremarre's royalty not only allowed her, but specifically requested her to do so. Place of Residence: Gremarre Kingdom, Gremarre
Appearance:
If gods are real, they definitely blessed Catherine with her beauty. Standing at an above-average 1,75m, Catherine has a lean, athletic and elegant body. Blessed with perfect bodily proportions, from her hair, often kept in a slightly disheveled braid, to her long legs, calling Catherine a beauty is often an understatement.
Catherine seems to have a very unique style of clothing, often favoring more function than form, as it is evident by her signature, red overcoat, which seems to be custom tailored to her own needs, with dozens of places to hold potions, vials as well as internal pockets for ingredients and reagents. Interestingly enough, Catherine's taste for clothes seems to fit her perfectly well. Her functional and elegant style complement her height in a beautiful manner and even the red overcoat seems to give her an unique 'touch' in her appearance. Other than that, despite her rather... 'unique', fashion sense, she is not oblivious to the beauty she was graced with, which is shown by how silky and well taken care of her hair is and the fact that her skin is always perfect (undoubtedly, thanks to her knowledge in Alchemy. Rumors are that queens would definitely start a war if they knew the tonics and skin care products Catherine is able to create and has been using for some time).
Underneath her elegant looks are hidden quite potent muscles though. Due to her unique physiology, result of years of self-experimentation with poisons, potions, tonics and many other things, the muscle fibers in her body became compressed and reinforced, giving Catherine enough strength to compete against a bodybuilder, while keeping her body lean and elegant. The rather unique mix of potent muscles with a light weight frame give Catherine rather unique physical capabilities.
Personality:
Most of the times, Catherine is an enthusiastic and very energetic person. Her wild personality and unruly behavior does make her quite at home among many adventurers, whom, despite how infamous she is, often enjoy having her for a drink.
Catherine shows interest to those who share her views, are interested in her work or those she considers her 'friends'. Despite her quirks and being somewhat hard to deal with, she still values friendship and camaraderie (even though it is rare for others to approach her enough to become more than 'drinking buddies'). That said, she shows a complete lack of interest on people who dont share her views, often outright ignoring them should they not have anything worthwile to say to her. Most of people in Gremarre find her hard to deal with, both because she openly despises those who speak ill of her regardless of their status, but still come to her when needed and because she accepts no interference in her job nor any 'suggestions' regarding her methods.
Being rather infamous for her dangerous research and experiments, unorthodox (and unethical) methods, Catherine often finds it very hard for her to get her hands into materials for her research, both due to their rarity and due to petty reasons from half of the academic society, which still dislike her after she wounded their pride when she arrived on Gremarre. Due to that, she has taken this 'supply' problem into her own hands, which wasn't exactly hard, since she was already an adventurer before arriving in Gremarre.
In combat situations, Catherine shows herself to be rather difficult to control. With little to no regards to collateral damage, the chaos she created in combats quickly became a nightmare to both enemies and allies alike by making unrestricted usage of poisons, explosive mixtures and some even worse compounds she created. While she is definitely a force to be reckoned with when by herself, she doesn't make any effort to work as a team and if the party she is working with does not know how to deal with her, they might find it easier to just stay out of her way and let her take care of things by herself.
Biography:
Little is known about Catherine's origins before she arrived on Gremarre as an adventurer other than the infamous record she holds in the Adventurer's Guild and the nickname she received, the "Walking Disaster". While she claims to be the daughter of a famous adventurer and an alchemist which had connections to the academic society in Gremarre, it's unknown if her claims are true or not, since both the adventurer she named seems to have either disappeared or be dead and the alchemist, while indeed having been once a promissing student from one of the academies in Gremarre, died from a contagious disease a few years ago after she left Gremarre.
Despite the unclear origins though, almost immediately upon arriving in Gremarre, Catherine estabilished herself as an unparalelled genius after openly and publicly interrupting and debating with scholars in the middle of an academic conference, disproving and debunking the theory that was being discussed while revealing the errors in their research. While that little stunt did earn her the enmity of half of the academic society, it did attract the attention of many eyes, including Gremarre's royal family, which saw great potential in such a genius, despite her rather... 'dangerous' personality and the complaints regarding her experiments and the methods she used, coming from both the Adventurer's Guild and especially the staff members that are tasked to cleaning up her mess afterwards.
Even though she was unfit to occupy any seat of importance due to obvious reasons, the royal family still considered her to be too valuable to throw away and at the same time, too dangerous to not keep an eye on as long as she was in their city, thanks to the trail of destruction and chaos she often left on her wake due to her recklessness and the 'experiments' she often made. Instead of labeling her as a dangerous individual and not allowing her to stay in the city, they made a small proposal to Catherine. As long as she agreed to provide them consultation and assistance in case her talents were needed and agree to periodically research and study subjects the royal family was interested in, they would not only give her complete freedom to make her own research and experiments, but would also provide a particular laboratory near the borders of the city, along with an yearly research funding to help her finance her studies.
Abilities:
Hand-to-hand combat:
What started only as a hobby of practicing martial arts in order to keep her body healthy, ended up evolving into an unique fighting style thanks to her body's unique constitution and became incredibly useful once she became an adventurer. Catherine makes use of not only punches and kicks, but her entire body in combat, including acrobatic moves, choke holds and even using her anatomy knowledge to strike joints and other weak spots.
Unique Physiology:
Years of using herself as a guinea-pig for testing potions, tonics, poisons and venoms due to the lack of willing subjects gave Catherine a rather unique body physiology. Her muscle fibers are both compressed and reinforced, giving her enough strength to compete against a bodybuilder without changing her body mass or flexibility and agility... As long as she is anchored on the ground in order to make up for the weight difference. In combat, most of her strength doesn't come from her body weight, but instead the explosive acceleration she is able to produce when punching, kicking or her mobility, being able to both easily jump over and use acrobatic moves in order to reposition herself and move herself in a very quick and agile manner.
This unique physiology also gives Catherine an incredible resistance to most venoms, poisons and toxins, along with making her skin resistant to corrosion and burns.
The tradeff to that is that most beneficial potions and tonics that are normally used to heighen one's physical capabilities or senses to have a minimal effect on her, with the exception of healing potions. Her dulled sense of pain also means that she can fight despite being wounded, although it can be rather dangerous for Catherine, since thanks to that, she can reach the point of overexerting herself enough to tear her muscles apart without realizing if she doesn't pay enough attention.
Combat Alchemy:
Catherine makes use of a myriad of potions, venoms and mixtures while fighting, both throwing vials and making use of special gloves she had made for herself. From paralyzing venom and liquid nitrogen to explosive and incendiary mixtures to corrosive acids.
Miscellaneous Facts:
- Catherine often likes to play pranks on people that are unaware of her unique 'physiology', such as challenging them to drinking contests, arm wrestling or even races.
- While most of the staff-members from the Adventurer Guild really dislike her, the adventurers herself often enjoy her company, as she seems to identify herself with the most 'rowdy' type of adventurers.
- Catherine started learning martial arts as a hobby in order to keep her body healthy after extended periods of time stuck inside of her lab when researching left her with recurrent cramps and stiff muscles.
@kumbaris I have finished and it's ready for review.
Fei Bai Ho
24 Years Old | Male | 183 cm (6'0") | Single
"One who simply sets limits will never reach them..."
The job of a traveling adventurer will probably be the only thing he will be good at.
Since he travels most of the time in the pursuit of strength, he doesn’t really have a permanent place of residence. His master's dojo is hidden in the Ruvalian Mountains where only a select few know about its location. Even Fei himself doesn't really remember how to get back, he's hoping he'll come across one of the select few who know about its location one day.
Fei is approximately 183 cm (6’0”), with many scars being visible on his body. His body is very built and fit due to the constant hard training he puts himself through every day. His hair is long, rough, and unruly, it seems to do whatever it wants half the time while Fei doesn’t mind it at all.
He usually wears a coat that is made of leather and fur he made himself from his first ever victory over a bear. It tends to end up being thrown away before any of his fights since he treasures the coat very deeply.
Fei was born in the Putonghua Imperial State where he was abandoned as a child in the slums of the city of Fuoyeng. He was a thief who constantly stole from others just so he could live to see another day. Eventually, a gang of thugs took the young Fei in and used him as a tool for stealing since he was faster than most thieves. There was no other place for him to stay since most people who sleep outside tend to end up dead. He was abused and beaten every day, but even through all that he never showed any sign of giving up. There was this deep desire in him to keep going and sooner or later everything would be alright. He never shed one tear because he knew if he did it would mean that he was weak and fragile. He wanted to be strong, strong enough to where no person would ever tell him what to do, causing him to get into a lot of fights with adults twice his size.
When Fei was 12 years old, he was in the middle of heist with the gang of thugs when an old man had caught them in the act. The old man had sprung into action and was beating them all swiftly and effectively, soon they realized that they could not win this fight, so they threw Fei at the old man and fled. Being the stubborn boy he was, he attacked the old man relentlessly but none of his attacks connected since the old man was dodging everything. Fei was frustrated that he couldn’t even hit this old man once and ended up being thrown into a pile of trash. The strength of this old man had mesmerized the young Fei, he wanted to know what it was that had given him this power to beat foes without a weapon. So, Fei begged the old man to teach him how to be just as strong as the powerful old man. The old man agreed only if he could keep up with him as he traveled back to his home in the Ruvalian mountains. And so, Fei followed the old man far away from the city until they arrived at the foot of the mountain. It was challenging getting to this point, the old man would rarely rest, and hunger would pang Fei’s stomach frequently. The old man pressed on and together with Fei behind him, they climbed the mountain until they had finally arrived at the destination. It was a small dojo surround by Asian looking walls.
Fei trained with the old man for years and became strong, yet Fei was still unsatisfied. The training would seem impossible with how intense the routine was, but Fei adapted and learned everything he could from his master. His master, the old man, had even beaten in some basic knowledge so he wouldn’t just be a fighting freak. Fighting was the only thing he ever wanted to do during his time at the old man’s secluded dojo in the mountains. He wanted to continue breaking his own limit, since his desire was now to be the strongest human in the world. If he was the strongest person in the world then nothing would ever get in his way of his pursuit of happiness and strength. Since there was nothing else that his master could teach him, Fei finally decided to leave the mountains and forge his own destiny. Who knows what kind of opponents the world could offer Fei.
He would go on to gain all kinds of experience as an adventurer since he accepted all kinds of jobs, even the odd ones. Many people didn’t really like his forward and honest personality when he tried partying up with other fellow adventurers. Fei tended to challenge strong looking opponents even those within the many parties he has been in. This led to him leaving all his previous parties since he would beat the party leader every time. Fei wasn’t interested in being a party where the leader couldn’t even fight himself on equal terms. His travels ended him up in the city of Cendana where he witnessed the meteor crashing in the mountains. He just knew that he had to go see for himself just what crashed in the mountains. There were soon people coming into the city looking to form parties to investigate the crash and Fei knew things were going to get interesting.
Above all else, Fei dislikes weak people, though not strictly in a physical sense. He has openly told weak people that he hates people like them due to their frequent use of phrases of "it's impossible" or “I just can’t do it.” Conversely, he likes people who put in the effort to make something of themselves, despite their limitations, and has come to appreciate those who put their life on the line.
Fei has no actual sense of caution and in fact, has been known to literally laugh in the face of danger and walk into potentially harmful situations with a massive grin.
Fei is generally simple-minded to a fault. Though he has moments of taking things very seriously, such as during fights or intense interpersonal conflicts, he generally approaches most things in a simple, straightforward manner. Because of his nature, he does not beat around the bush like most people and will often directly call someone out for their personal failings. He is honest and most times honorable but will do whatever it takes to win a fight. He often gets quite serious when anyone is in serious danger.
Fei has a profound thirst for adventure, having described it as one of his main reasons for wanting to become the strongest. He believes that only the strongest person can enjoy the most freedom in the world, with the ability to travel anywhere they want. He rejects becoming anyone's ruler or boss, as he wishes to be free to do whatever he wants, though this never comes at the cost of anyone else's freedom. Because of this adventurous nature, he tends to avoid taking 'the easy way out' at times.
Fei is highly optimistic. He always sees the bright side of situations or anything that goes wrong and takes matters with a smile and an upbeat nature.
From what Fei learned from his master was that before the Putonghua Imperial State even became the Imperial State that is to this day, Putonghua was region where fighters practiced all types of martial arts. It was until a prolific woman warrior created a fighting style that triumphed all other martial arts and used it to rule the region. It was an form in which only women could learn until somebody figured out the secret behind it and created what is called the traditional Suju fighting style to combat it. Years of war raged on leading to many masters of both styles to die out or go missing causing the popularity of the forms to decline. Eventually, the region soon became the Putonghua Imperial State it is today. Martial artist were rare to come by now since the times haves changed the region drastically. As the years went the Suju art form had all but vanished from the culture of Putonghua, except for those few who keep the craft alive in solace.
That was until Fei's master found him and taught the all forgotten but still very powerful Suju fighting style. Suju fighting primarily utilizes the art of kicks, unlike the fighting styles of other continents which focus more on weaponry and upper body strength. The Suju style movement range is much larger, and appears more aggressive; however the true nature of its power lies in the streets kept sacred to those who complete training. Of course, Fei's practice of Suju tactics today display a new, transcended form of the style itself. He was never really good at being told what to do after all. he is able to devastate an opponent with ultra-powerful kicks, helping them meet their demise. He attacks mostly with his feet, pushes out enemies with powerful kicks and approaches quickly for consecutive attacks.
He also has a natural affinity for fire magic which he incorporates in his fighting style and technique.
High tier skills known:
Torpedo - Hits with a lightning fast elbow to immobilize the enemy
Power Fist - Concentrates energy and achieves higher immobilization
Mountain Pusher - Dashes forward, shouldering enemies in his path
Bone Crusher - Delivers a low kick powerful enough to crush leg bones
Flame Tornado Kick - Spins and delivers fiery kicks, and then finishes with an even more powerful kick
Close Kick - Kicks at close range, its a highly destructive kick that's hard to recover from if it misses, usually knocks back enemies.
Lightning Dance - Kicks the enemy directly in front of Fei, using the recoil from the kick, he quickly runs around kicking nearby enemies multiple times, stops after landing a set number of kicks or if there are no more surviving enemies nearby
Dragon Kick - One of Fei's more advanced techniques that inflicts great damage on an enemy with a powerful flying kick
Whirlwind Kick - Delivers a swift spinning kick, gathering surrounding enemies, and then finishes them with a powerful blow
Spin Kick - Kicks widely while powerfully spinning using the power of centripetal force. Enemies in the way are knocked down and flown across the field
When Fire is Released: Fei taps into the great power hidden deep insides himself, his flames will spread throughout the body and he himself will be enveloped in a black silhouette with glowing red eyes and this form allows him to use the skills listed below
Mortal Assault - He leaps over to an enemy and forcefully kicks it as he lands, sending forth a shockwave
Atomic Cannon - Charges and punches an enemy, sending him flying
Tyrant Strike - Quickly punches and gathers enemies in one spot, attacks them from the left and from the right twice, and then concentrates his strength into his leg and delivers a powerful flying kick that penetrates the enemies in front and inflicts great damage
Infernal Destroyer - Determined to burn everything, he throws each and every punch with everything he has; Dragon Fist ends this special and advanced technique
@Kumbaris Just checking if this is still accepting new characters? I would very much like to join. Character wise I am not sure what I want to play yet.
Place of Residence: Feros IV, Financial District, Level 5
Appearance: Standing at 6'3", Garret possessed a body like that of any soldier, toned, strong, and ready for whatever punishment awaited them. Brown hair cut short to Space Force standards and had Blue eyes. Multiple scars cover his body, originating from the many tours of duty he participated in. Regularly wears a shemagh at almost all times.
History:: Born to a near low-class family, Garret lived a somewhat normal childhood; had a good home, plenty of friends, and decent grades. One day his father, who was a Frontier Scout at one time, taught Garret how to camp, hunt, and live off the wilderness, out in the wilds of Feros IV which had been recently colonized. The occasional camping and hunting trips every so often had piqued Garret’s further interest and eventually, like father like son, Garret quickly got the hang of living outdoors and practically excelled at it. Like the colony around him, Garret developed an interest in biology and wanted to know more about nature in general, especially on other planets. In his mid to late teenage years, he and his father worked as rangers for a newly established nature reserve on Feros IV, separated from the large developing cityscapes that was the main colonial hub on the planet. His time being a ranger, having escorted tourists and researchers through the wilds while also safeguarding the wildlife from natural and artificial threats, had molded a new desire to protect others.
Garret would eventually graduate at his colony's university with a B.E.S. degree and join up with the Commonwealth Space Force, believing that he could make a real impact through ensuring security and safety throughout the Commonwealth worlds. The opportunity allowed him to fulfill any of his interests. Specifically, protecting others, but also being able to visit new worlds. Per the recommendation of one of his recent superiors, Garret has pointed in the direction of the Thucydides, an exploratory vessel set to venture out towards a new world.
Cybernetic/ Genetical Enhancements:
Garret, like many servicemen, received several cerebral cybernetics in order to augment his natural senses, reflexes, and situational awareness, promoting his overall combat efficiency.
Skills:
Former Frontier Scout and Ranger: Having spent much of his life outdoors, usually with little supplies on hand, Garret is well experienced navigating through the wilds of many colonies, noting not only the behavior of local fauna but seeing out beneficial (and avoiding toxic and dangerous) properties of the regional flora as well.
Reason for joining the crew of the Thucydides: Joining the Thucydides was a natural decision for Garret as it allowed him to witness new discoveries and see new places, all the while fulfilling his occupations; a win-win.
Miscellaneous Facts:
Has a pet Hamster named Mr. Gibs.
May or may not be adopting a case of Gynophobia while aboard the Thucydides.
Inspired by a particular predator on Feros IV, Garret had subtly illustrated its notable maw on his own helmet, designed around the visor.
The Pixie City in the deep woods east of Loch Oberia
Appearance:
Dumas like all Pixies, stands at one foot tall with pointed ears. His skin is white like snow, as is his eyes and hair. Dumas keeps his hair in a perpetual state of spikiness, perhaps magically. His body has far more scars on it than the average Pixie as he fights a lot more than his kin. This high level of physical activity has led to Dumas having a toned and athletic build. Like other Pixies, Dumas has insect-like wings. In his case it is six translucent blue wings. Like all Pixies Dumas can use magic to become human sized, in his case 5’8’’.
When it comes to his attire, Dumas is quite different than other Pixies. While Pixies are usually seen wearing basic clothing made out of plants, Dumas is much more inspired by the fashion of the Human lands. He can be found wearing a hooded shirt, pants, and boots. Colour wise he prefers clothes that are similar in color to his wings.
History:
For untold centuries Pixies lived in the hidden places of the world. They lived through the ages of Titans, Dragons, and now the lesser races. One such hidden place where Pixies lived was the deep woods just east of Loch Oberia, in the Empire of Oberia. It was there that over a century ago that Dumas was born. Born the thirteenth child of a Pixie couple, he was considered a bad omen because he was the thirteenth. This led to other Pixies avoiding Dumas when he was a child. He struggled to find his place in his family among all his other siblings.
Once Dumas was old enough to begun his studies, his parents decided that he would be a herbalist. While Dumas did have an aptitude for it, he had a nagging notion in his mind that this wasn’t what he was supposed to do with his life. Dumas’s world would change dramatically when he was convinced to sneak out of the woods by some other young Pixies. They would leave the wood and travel south to the city of Dhamos-Tyrr.
The Pixies would immediately stand out in the city, as their kind was a rare sight to the other races. Dumas and the others would buy some goods, including clothing that Dumas liked. But their spending would draw attention, as a bandit tried to rob them. Dumas would defend himself, getting into the first fight of his life, managing to defeat the bandit. The rush Dumas felt from fighting would forever change him.
When the Pixies returned to the deep wood, they were chastised by the elders. But Dumas didn’t care, as he began to rebel. Getting into fights with other Pixies, leaving the wood to explore Oberia. It was while traveling Oberia that Dumas would discover a portal door. Created by the Titans of legend, these doors linked locations all over the world, but could only be seen by magical beings.
Using these doors, Dumas traveled to the other continents, doing a lot of self-discovery. Dumas would spend many years traveling the world, going from portal door to portal door. He would eventually return to the deep wood of his birth, a much more mature Pixie. Seeing how he changed for the better, the elders decided to accept him as their representative to the outside world.
Dumas would also train to become a Knight of the Deep Wood, the protectors of the Pixie community. For several decades now Dumas defends his home and represents them in his travels. But for a few years now nothing interesting has happened to the Pixies. That was until the star fell from the sky, hitting a far off mountain range.
Abilities:
As a Pixie, Dumas can naturally fly with his wings, able to move at the relative speed of a falcon. He is also naturally magical, being connected to the innate mana of the world. This allows him to detect magic and see through illusions. This innate magic allows him to cast spells with out learning them beforehand. But this magic is chaotic in nature and can backfire very easily. A simple fireball spell could explode in Dumas’s face for example.
