CHAOS CHAOS CHAOS
Chaos, Chaos, how can one go about to define chaos? Chaos is everything yet chaos is nothing, chaos is the antithesis of order yet in its own way it is an order in of itself. When fish fly through the ocean and birds swim through the clouds, that is Chaos. When the rain is glass and the stone it cuts bleeds sap, that is Chaos. When the impossible becomes the possible and the possible becomes not,
that is Chaos.
Chaos is the nonsensical, it is the breaking of order and law whether it be the laws of mortals or the laws of the universe, it is the warping of reality to suit nothing more than the singular desire to see it broken. There is no greater meaning to Chaos, it is not some primordial origin that all life strives towards or some ideological opposition to order. Chaos is simply Chaos.
When wielded by its mad god, Chaos twists and transforms whatever it desires, changing the laws of reality into unpredictable facsimiles of itself. Yet it can not be so easily controlled, not even Yumash can bring reason to Chaos, its results will always be strange, unpredictable, nonsensical, and even counterproductive to whoever is using it. When Chaos is summoned, nothing will make sense, for if it did, it would no longer be Chaos.
Appearance
The Face of Chaos
Yumash rarely if ever stays in a singular form, the very act of constraining themselves into an identifiable shape brings a great amount of discomfort and pain to the god, ensuring that when alone, they will merely break apart into a myriad of shapes and colours with no rhyme or reason to it. To witness this form would be confusing even for their fellow gods, and they would be hard pressed to meaningfully communicate or understand it at all, with mortals likely being driven to madness by the mere sight.
When forced to contain themselves, Yumash prefers to change based on whoever they’re dealing with, with mortals they will choose disguises and forms that make them look more unsuspecting or allow them to blend in easily. Meanwhile with gods Yumash will take a more looser approach, transforming into a humanoid shape made up of a multitude of colours and energies. Sometimes though Yumash will copy the god they’re talking to, taking the god’s form as their own for a time with exaggerated changes or strange additions, often to the annoyance of the other gods.
There is one final form, one that Yumash will take when forced to pick something, usually only when dealing with the Outers, heralding great bouts of Chaos, or when the other gods get tired of their antics. This form is an armored humanoid, but instead of a head, there sits instead a great font of chaotic energy, shifting and changing constantly as it lashes out to whatever draws near. This form annoys Yumash though, and they will seek to exit it as quickly as possible. This form is the one depicted below.
Description
The Maddening Chattering
One might expect Yumash’s personality to change upon a whim, ebbing and flowing with the tides of chaos. But that is not the case, in fact their personality is the most ordered part of their existence, leading to the occasional bout of confusion by those not used to the god. Though this order is still relatively strange, with Yumash constantly engaging in nonsensical topics of conversation or lines of thinking, bringing up and dropping ideas or points suddenly and without any coherent reasoning.
But behind this nonsensicality there is something to Yumash, while it comes in a more silent form, they are quite intelligent and able to work out matters in their own strange way. Even being able to use their Chaos to the benefit of their worshipers or allies, even if the course of action seemingly makes no sense to more rational beings.
They believe Chaos is just another part of the world, it is not a good or bad thing, it merely exists to break and change, no matter what the end result might be. To some this will cause Yumash to come off as careless of the consequences of their actions, if not make it seem like they are antagonistic to those who might try to bring about reason or order. But Yumash is not actively evil or destructive, and will grow confused when deemed so.
In regards to their fellow gods, Yumash holds no moral qualms with any of them, even gods of order are not seen as enemies by the mad god, instead just as Yumash champions Chaos, the other gods too champion their domains. This makes Yumash relatively easy to deal with if one can find common ground with them, if not a bit too willing to go along with the schemes and works of whoever they are working with. So long as Chaos can, in some way, be achieved, Yumash will aid in it.
