A child prodigy in the making, Vitesse had grown up in the Kalos region racing Rhyhorns from an early age. She wiped the floor with the competition, and held a number of records throughout the years. Eventually, victory after victory would draw the world's eyes onto Tess, and upon acquiring a professional agent of her own, she'd find herself laden with sponsorships from well-known companies such as DENSOKU or Mach Motors. In turn, these sponsorships allowed Tess to explore the world and expand to other competitions such as the PokΓ©thlon at the cost of her and her PokΓ©mon wearing company-themed attire to promote the various product(s) their businesses made.
As such, it was only natural that she found herself invited aboard the S.S. Lugia as a celebrity, but also to discuss any business details with a few wealthy individuals and their partners that had joined the ship's maiden voyage.

Despite her success in life, Tess has never been an expressive individual.
