Branch-092 Contained Anomalies:
  • A-188: Teratoma
  • Grade: Esh
  • Description: Subject is an amorphous pseudo-organic entity best visually described as a pulsating mass of red eldritch flesh, capable of extensive shapeshifting and anatomical mimicry. When told to be more 'presentable' without any specific guidance, Subject will mimic A-187's overall build and appearance with some key differences, chiefly being hair color and apparel, they're dark green and a white sundress respectively.
  • Containment Protocol: Due to imprinting after A-187's personality and demeanor, Subject is quite docile and cooperative to instructions. Indoctrination is the best method to 'contain' it, but should physical containment become necessary, Subject must be contained within a secured bunker, hermetically-sealed without even an inch of opening as Subject is capable of squeezing even through the narrowest of gaps. Meat - preferably raw and fresh - has been shown to effectively pacify the Subject should it's agitated.
  • Anomalous Qualities: Subject appears to have originated from another plane of existence that can be colloquially described as 'Lovecraftian'. It is a biologically immortal creature capable of consuming any organic material and gaining information to mimic those it has consumed. It has no identifiable internal organs (excluding those it has mimicked) except for a tennis ball-sized 'core' that appears to function as its brain. Any physical damage done to its body is ultimately reversible as long as the core remains functional. Though a living creature of flesh and blood, it doesn't think, feel, or function as we do, but it can adapt. In relation, facility and field observations suggest that psychological phenomenon from Anomalies or otherwise unpredictably affect Subject; it's apparently immune to A-187's gifts and when subjected to Ms. Yamamizu's 'Drowning the Sins' curse, Subject enters a blissful dream where it's having an endless feast of marine animals instead of a drowning waking nightmare.

Here it is. Feel free to edit/do as you want. I figured since its still a relatively recent acquirement and the fact it'd be difficult to study as long as its possessing Numako, they're still in the middle of researching it.

  • A-413: The Weeping God
  • Grade: Esh
  • Description: Subject appears to be a entity that resembles a large, monstrous eel of indeterminate length from what has been gathered with the brief appearances of it. Numerous skeletal hands and arms covered in mystical talismans have grown out of its sides which seem to be its main form of locomotion. Where its head normally would have been, is instead a gaping hole that weeps tainted, black water.
  • Containment Protocol: Subject is currently contained within its host, Numako Yamamizu. This was done by integrating a specialized device to suppress supernatural entities into Miss Yamamizu's body directly. Research into containment should it not have a host has been minimal, as separating Yamamizu and the Weeping God has been determined to very likely cause her undue harm if not outright terminate the host at the current time.
  • Anomalous Qualities:
    Subject appears to have once been a local spirit or god that lived in a mountain lake. However, after the lake was polluted by dumping several bodies of dead murder victims, primarily which were once priests that looked after the shrine it was found in, it negatively seems to have affected the spirit. It constantly weeps black water like liquid from its body. Anything living being this liquid touches will result in its body and mind rotting and becoming weaker until the point of death. This liquid, in large quantities, can pollute entire water supplies.
  • Note: There are many questions regarding the Weeping Gods properties and qualities as studying it directly would prove dangerous and harmful to Miss Yamamizu. What has been determined in the time that it took to contain Miss Yamamizu herself, however, is that the Weeping God primarily functions in two states. A 'Passive' and 'Active' state. In its passive state, it seems to be dormant, using its black liquid to passively pollute any body of water it finds itself sleeping in. It will stay in this state until it senses a suitable host nearby where it will switch to an active state where it haunts the host and proceeds to forcibly possess its body. Its goal, beyond being extremely aggressive to humans, is unknown.

    Further research, so long as it does not harm Miss Yamamizu has been authorized and agreed upon at regular intervals. Miss Yamamizu has agreed to live on-site for this reason and further monitoring.

  • Description: Subject appears to be a young woman, although her appearance is known to change to conform to the desires of her current 'master', including slight variation from human norms. Subject's most recent appearance has feline characteristics and unusually pale hair.
  • Containment-Thwarting Measures: Upon separation from her designated 'master' of a period between six hours and twelve minutes and twelve hours fifteen minutes, Subject will spontaneously emerge from either a nearby doorway or, if no doorway is available, from behind an obstacle capable of hiding her person. If the 'master' is kept in a featureless area, Subject will either appear behind them or, ultimately, as soon as they blink. Observation of onlookers does not appear to make a difference.
    Attempts to sedate or otherwise incapacitate Subject will become progressively less effective over the same timespan, until she inevitably regains full functioning and consciousness. Both dismemberment and death have proved completely ineffective except at hastening this process, with no containment being effective other than containing whatever human has been designated as her 'master' until she decides to free them instead.
  • Mitigation Protocols: Subject is happy to enter negotiations and consider suggestions when searching for a new 'master'. Suitable candidates that will not grow to resent Subject's presence are to be screened and kept on file in case her current 'master' dies. While partnered with someone suitable, Subject is to be considered mostly harmless.
  • Anomalous Qualities: Aside from the Subject's apparent transformative and regenerative properties, subject displays mild magical abilities related to the rapid cleaning and maintenance of domestic environments using basic tools. Upon deciding that a human is her 'master', with or without agreement, subject will take measures to maintain both their place of residence and work at all times, using nothing more apparently magical than teleporting when not observed by her 'master'. Subject will also perform bodyguard duties if her 'master' is known to enter dangerous situations, but will not consider action beyond immediate protection of her 'master' and extraction.
    Upon the death of her old 'master', Subject will take up to a week to select a new one.
  • Notes: Subject does not appear to require sustenance or rest, yet will act human as long as her 'master' desires it and even accept a wage.
    Despite repeated efforts, Subject cannot be persuaded to use tools more complicated than an electric stove for her duties.

Name: Marco Saldaña
Age: Born sometime between the 15th and 16th century. Appears to be early to mid thirties.
Gender: Male
Appearance: Marco Saldaña appears to be a pale man in his mid thirties. Often dressed in fine clothes. Now that he no longer has to blend in with humans, he prefers to wear older styles of clothes.
Known for his sharp features and piercing blue eyes, he was considered conventionally attractive when he was alive.
Psychological Profile: To put it simply, Marco Saldaña has a lot of self loathing. Though he hides it behind a charming exterior. While he may seem confident and quick witted, it is really the result of him applying over four hundred years of experience. The truth is he hates being what he is. A Vampire. Marco despises having to drink blood, and is much happier with his arrangement with Sefirot. Being given a synthetic blood replacement and blood bags from a hospital (when things get serious) means he can keep his hunger sated without the need to kill.
Skills: First and foremost, Marco is an expert fencer. Centuries spent honing the skill has made him a force to be reckoned with. Aside from his remarkable fencing skill, Marco is a professional monster hunter and an amateur occultist. Marco has traveled the world hunting monsters, even before they became public knowledge. As a result, he is multi-lingual. Fluent in Spanish, English, French, Japanese and Russian. Due to his studies he can also read and write in Latin and Sumerian.
Abilities: Marco Saldaña is a creature of the night. Colloquially called a Vampire. Scientifically a Homo sapiens homovorus. Though some circles classify it as a post human species designated Homo Sanguinus. Whatever you choose to call it, Marco has a number of abilities he has inherited from his post human physiology. Namely, Marco is strong enough to lift construction vehicles and destroy thick steel, fast enough to easily move at supersonic speeds, and durable enough to withstand most explosions. He also has a few more esoteric abilities, which include being able to sense blood around him, turn into mist and most notably Haemopotent Replication.
Now these abilities come with a draw back. Sunlight burns Marcos, due to being a creature of the night. Additionally a wooden stake to the heart will paralyse him. Holy water burns like fire. He can’t enter private houses without an invitation. Decapitation with a silver instrument also prevents any vampiric healing, killing him.
Equipment: Marco uses a silver Rapier as his signature weapon. He has recently started using a high caliber pistol as a side arm, but often finds he can get more force behind his rapier. He has a full suit with hood and mask for daytime operations. He also carries a number of synthetic blood capsules, laced with esoteric herbs and alchemical rites preformed on them, to make blood pills that he can keep on himself fairly easy in case of emergency. One of the six pills he keeps on himself during missions is special. It is black instead of red like the rest, and will throw Marco into a bloodlust induced rage. Boosting physical abilities but at the cost reasoning. It is often a last resort as Marco doesn’t like losing control and letting the beast take over. The long term effects of this special pill are unclear at the moment, but they aren’t good.
Background: Marco Saldaña was born sometime during the 15th and 16th century. A Spanish conquistador. He sailed into the unknown, helping Spain conquer America, Mexico and Peru in the early 16th century. While invading South America, Marco came across a strange cult worshiping a blood god of sorts. Upon investigation, Marco’s entire squad was taken out by a strange creature that night. Marco swore he was going to die that night. However, he had shown a local child kindness the day before, where his companions had shown only hatred. As such, he was spared in a way. He awoke a week later in the middle of the forest in a shallow grave. Stumbling through the dark, he made his way to a burning camp on the coast. His sire had slaughtered the rest of the crew members of Marco’s ship. It was explained to Marco that he was now a Vampire, and if he wanted to keep the gift of unlife, he would take his Sire to Europe on the ship that brought the Conquistadors to South America.
The trip back was spent learning what it meant to be a Vampire. He learned what he could. Just before arriving in Europe, Marco released just how much devastation his sire would reap across the continent, so a fight ensued The ship was destroyed but Marco managed to wrap himself in a scrap of the sail before sinking below the waves.
A month later, a body washed up on the coast of England. That night, the body that was wrapped up in canvas, unfurled itself and ventured out into the night. A starving, waterlogged Marco came across a small rural town, where in his feral, blood hunger state, he feasted on the small village. After sating his hunger, he came to his senses. Disgusted at what he had done, he swore to himself he would do better. He would be better.

Over the next few centuries, he made a vow to hunt other Vampires. Feeding only on animal blood, he waged a one man war to make the night a safer place.
In the 1990s he started a private investigator firm in LA, which drew the attention of several Esoteric Organisations. He was forced to flee because they labeled him a monster despite everything he was doing to try and be better.
In 2012, he came across the radar of Sefirot. For the first couple of years, he was hunted. Labeled as a massive threat because he kept showing up at sites where there were active anomalies. However, in 2015 it was discovered that the reason he was always at the site of Anomalies was because he was trying to stop them. From then on, he was been working as a professional agent of Sefirot.

Okay, that one kind of misses the tone mark on the RP by a wide margin, sorry. The idea is that while there are all these old magical lineages and random mystical things dating back centuries, they're generally presented--especially with regards to characters--in a much more modern context, alongside urban legends and general internet horror stories. "Here's a vampire straight out of the dawn of colonial empires" is just too far to really fit in. Particularly when the entire bio treats everything that's happened since the turn of the millennium as bsaically a footnote. We really don't want someone with 400+ years of combat experience and supernatural abilities in a cast mostly in their 20's or early 30's.

Plus, on entirely practical levels, "I am preferably nocturnal and will burn to death if my clothes are damaged" is a terrible idea when every other character does this as their day job.

Psychological Profile: Rudemouthed and of dirty mind, yet carries herself in a sort of fierce elegance. Has a high standard for food and living conditions making her existence after her capture difficult for her. In addition she also has psychological issues likely stemming from being as intimately aware of her father’s job at as young an age as was casually introduced to her. Her temper is both intense and often violent, though it should be noted that she is not a drinker or a user of any kind. It’s hard to tell how much of her eventual full turn to becoming a crime boss was out of circumstance rather than spite to her father but either way she aimed for blood on the streets during her time acting as a Yakuza chief, and this violent side of her was only worsened by her manifestation. She has a softness for children though she rarely ever shows it.

Skills: Untrained in combat but fights like an injured tiger - albeit a clumsy one. This is to say she fights without fear (or perhaps precisely with fear) and in addition fights dirty, but lacks any skill past that. On the other hand, her firearms skills are long-trained with firearm practice with Daddy, and recently honed in her gangland campaign against him - which alone would make her a person you’d hesitate to mess with even before the discovery of her Abyssal blood. She is also bilingual - speaking both English and Japanese fluently.

Abilities: Demonic powers shared by her bloodline triggered by near-death experience. Can be activated to give her fire magic, though still raw and unrefined, usually manifested in crimson and scarlet flames. This magic generally shows itself in short bursts though it is clear that there’s hidden potential below this threshold that Akira has yet to tap into.

Equipment: A Glock 440 (.50 GI handgun) and MPX-45 (5th generation .45 caliber SMG) with no stock are her general carry-around weapons, she has a general preference for firearms and uses them regularly in combat in tandem with her powers. She also possessed an ancient family heirloom that, previously unbeknownst to her, serves a Demonic Catalyst, now contained (see A-525)

Background: Born to an wealthy father and an estranged mother, Akira Sekai was brought up rich but was often introduced to the harsh realities of life growing up, and particularly to the presence of crime which only grew as she got older and understood her father’s true occupation. She half wondered if he’d ever really even tried to hide it. This is to say, Akai Sekai was the head of an extremely powerful clan of Yakuza, one that was heavily involved with the growing gambling syndicates in Japan. Her life was largely uninvolved with this, but her money that was used to fund her more lavish lifestyle, her parties, clothes, cars and bailouts all grew from this rotten source that Akai had burrowed into. She’d not see him very often as a result of his occupation and as she grew older he started to drift away even more - giving her money and letting her do whatever she wanted without any care whatsoever, but she would accompany him to certain public events, particularly the sports events that he’d “sponsored”. Akai’s favourite was combat sports, and made the most money from kickboxing.

Something that had been long rumoured about the Sekai family was their tie to ancient demonic bloodlines of terrible power - Akai had told Akira, when she’d heard it, this was a ridiculous rumour that was only created because of their dominance and wealth.

One day, she fell out with her father for reasons she won’t speak about - the only thing she’d let loose was that she’d found something out about him and was so upset and shocked that she packed up and stormed away to a hotel.

In a fit of anger and grief she decided she’d had enough of him and vowed to destroy everything he’d built out of sheer spite.

Offering an unlucky prospect that had been scheduled to be sponsored by Akai’s kickboxing organization the opportunity for steady pay in exchange for protecting her life, and warning him that his organization was soon to be destroyed - Kiyoshi Hanaoka became her first ally in her war against her father. Working off the few savings she had from her father’s tremendous allowance he granted her she assembled a somewhat poxy crew of gangsters that she’d lead in her own operations against him. The first time she ever used a gun outside of target practice was during a heist on a rival mob bank, where she shot two gunmen and killed one. Having lost several men of her own during the heist and being forced into several firefights afterward she’d decided to take matters to its source and force her father at gunpoint to step down from his clan. After failing to muster the courage to shoot him after he'd refused to step down in their confrontation she fled, in a fit of anger and an act of disrespect stealing the ceremonial blade mounted in their family mansion. She'd yet underestimated how cold her father was, and in an attempt to stop her permanently, Akai phoned an anonymous tip to the police on her license plate and during a police chase she crashed her car into a wall. Her body almost being broken in half triggered something within her, and the blade that she’d stolen out of spite exploded into a crimson and scarlet fireball as the car hit the wall - destroying an entire block of the city in an instant. It seemed that the rumours her father had dismissed were certainly true - and what's more the sword was more than an heirloom.

When she awoke she’d been apprehended by Sefirot’s Agents whilst she’d been knocked unconscious, and her new life began as a contained Anomaly - and eventually an Agent.

A-525: Kogarasu Maru

Grade: Esh

Description: A black steel Japanese tachi blade built in an unusual style that combined the ancient Japanese Ken blade and the modern Katana blades most are familiar with - with a particular unique double edged design. Its Tsukamaki on the handle is wrapped in crimson red in a classic Hira Maki tachi style. By all accounts outside of its somewhat anachronistic nature it doesn't seem to be particular abnormal in appearance.

Containment Protocol: Keep locked and sealed in a weapon's vault with a clear window for observation.

Anomalous Qualities: It is yet unknown the full scale of the object's abilities and who can and can't manifest them but its incredible destructive activation during Akira's capture immediately made it a significant threat. Further testing should be conducted once safe measures to do so are devised.

Since the OP of OOC mentions both technology being used in conjunction with magic, and things finding their way in from other planes of existence, I'm gonna' take a shot in the dark and see if this character fits. Depending on how well she fits the themes, I can either tweak her or swap her out for someone else.

  • Name: Elvira Sanada / The Technol-Angel
  • Age: 24
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: Off-Duty:
    • Pale skin, caucasian
    • Brown hair, reaching middle of back, with feathered bangs reaching to just above the brow
    • Black eyes, large and round, behind a pair of big, thick glasses with black rectangular frames
    • 6'0", with long, thin limbs and a nearly curveless figure; lanky
    • Generally wears sweaters or knit tops, and long skirts that reach past the knee, capped of with Ugg boots
    On-Duty:
    • Pink hair, reaching the middle of back, which flows from inside of a grey helmet, which is connected to chin and jaw armor by black material that passes in front of her ears
    • Only the shadow of her eyes is visible past the pale blue visor, which covers down to the bridge of her nose and leaves the bottom half of her face exposed
    • Body is covered by a skintight black suit overrun with glowing pale blue lines imitating the look of electrical circuits, over which sits asymmetrical pieces of grey armor that protect her torso, arms, legs, and feet
    • Floats off the ground, held aloft by glowing pale blue disc-like rings called H.A.L.O.s that sit around wrists and ankles
  • Psychological Profile:
    • Timid, quiet, bookish. Tends to avoid social conflict, though will not hesitate to correct someone who is clearly misinformed.
    • Greatly interested in the subject of history, and how it shapes cultures present in this world today. Tends to fawn over historical figures, especially those of the Sengoku era of Japan and the Three Kingdoms era of China
    • Puts on a heroic persona while donning her magitech armor, even speaking with a deeper tone of voice.
    • Places value on the preservation of both life and way of living, and sees protection of homes, workplaces, etc. as just as noble as protection of living people

    • Good with software programming. Has proficiency in the programming language used internally by Sefirot, as well as the language used by her own magitech equipment.

    • A set of four wide, flat, discus-esque rings which glow a pale blue, floating while spinning around The Technol-Angel's wrists and ankles. The Hologram-Augmented Lightbringing Obras carry The Technol-Angel's body while in their neutral positions, allowing her to float off the ground and avoid falling damage, but not fly in the air. They can be swung like chakram and thrown like discus up to a distance of 15 feet, returning to The Technol-Angel after reaching that distance or striking a target or obstruction. The disc-like rings can be positioned in different configurations on The Technol-Angel's body to activate different Modes, which create holograms of magic light capable of bestowing a variety of abilities:
    • Sword Mode: When positioned in front of one of The Technol-Angel's closed fists, a H.A.L.O. will produce a 24 inch (60 cm) long beam sword of pale blue hardlight from the space inside the ring. Multiple rings arranged in a line in front of a fist will produce longer beam swords; 48 inches (121 cm) using two, 72 inches (183 cm) using three, and 106 inches (269 cm) using all four. The longer the blade, the fewer H.A.L.O.s available for defense and maneuvering.
    • Shoot Mode: A H.A.L.O. positioned in front of one of The Technol-Angel's open palms will be able to fire fist-sized projectiles of blue light.
    • Cannon Mode: If all four halos are arranged in a square in front of both The Technol-Angel's open palms, they will be able to combine their power into a beam cannon.
      • The magical constructs of the previous three modes all follow a specific programming that determine how they act upon different materials:
      • If striking organic material connected to a nervous system, the light will force pain signals through all nerves it passes through - normally lethal attacks will instead overload the brain the nerves connect to and simply render the target unconscious instead.
      • If striking non organic/synthetic material, the light will simply pass through harmlessly.
      • if striking organic material that does not connect to a nervous system, the light will burn it, enabling it to sear through.
      • If striking a target designated as "Unholy" (vampires, the undead; basically any creature existing outside the cycle of life and death), the light will both burn through it, as well as hinder any regenerative abilities that attempt to repair the inflicted wound.
    • Shield Mode: Three H.A.L.O.s arranged in a triangle in front of The Technol-Angel's forearm will create a shield of pale blue magic light.
    • Arm Mode: Two H.A.L.O.s, one positioned around the wrist and one positioned around the bicep, will create a glowing blue hardlight arm around The Technol-Angel's regular arm. This increases the striking power and lifting power of her arm, giving her enough strength to push or even overturn a sedan all by herself.
    • Wheel Mode: Four H.A.L.O.s, two positioned around her ankles and two positioned vertically under the soles of her feet, will allow her to move at speeds rivaling the world's fastest cyclists. It also allows her to move on vertical or upside-down surfaces. Kicks performed in this mode are also enhanced.
    • Wing Mode: All four H.A.L.O.s, positioned in a horizontal line behind The Technol-Angel's back, will create wings of glowing blue light. These give her complete aerial freedom of movement, and also act as shields that cover herself and half a body length to her left and right. However, she cannot defend frontal attacks, nor engage offensively while this Mode is active. It also can't be used in tight spaces.

    HalOS
    • The magitech armor's onboard computer that manages the H.A.L.O. System while providing a variety of other useful functions, the Haos-Aligned Liturgical Operating System is vital to The Technol-Angel's capabilities as a Sefirot agent.
    • The visor covering the top half of The Technol-Angel's face acts as the primary display for HalOS's functions. It can display text translations, sources of heat and vibrations, and zoom on distant objects.

    • Raised in Tokyo by a Canadian mother and Japanese father
    • Gained an early interest in both software programming and history via video games such as the Musou series and the Sengoku Basara series
    • Performed exceptionally in schools, paving the way for her journey through university and eventual recruitment by Sefirot
