Physical Description: Phazmun stands well over 6 feet tall, maw to tail. His sturdy build is accustomed to life on the sea, and is beset by scales that the centuries may have dulled, but swirling throughout one can still see the deep blue patterns of his people. His white slitted eyes may seem intimidating considering his tendency to barely blink, but usually he is just thinking about food, the stars, or the latest tune - it takes a lot to get under someone's skin when they've looked an angry seagod in the eye, after all.

General Backstory: Phazmun is a skilled but gruff navigator. His most valued possessions ever since he was a little hatchling were maps and journals and compasses, a result of a lifetime of travel. First with his merchant parents, then in various sailing crews, and now, captured by pirates. Throughout it all, his heart aimed stoicly at the greatest prize of his people: the Azure Heart. The Azure Dragonborn are a people from the sunken island of Drakkaris. Once a prosperous volcanic island that freely travelled the seven seas, Drakkaris was powered by a collossal magical flame known as the Azure Heart. It gifted its people long and healthy lives, and the power to forge magical artifacts that were renowned the world over. But it was also a beacon, attracting terrible forces from the abyss. One fateful night a massive leviathan creature attacked, a vengeful seagod that banished Drakkaris to the deep dark locker, and the Azure Heart was extinguished. What few Dragonborn survived have built up a new life in the centuries since, roaming the oceans and isles and harbors as artisans, guards, merchants, labor hands, and, occasionally, as pirates. A scattered and wistful people, but never aimless. For the whispers of their Azure Heart can yet be heard...

Special Abilities: Strength, amphibious, navigation, historical knowledge, mist breath attack.

Personal Goal: Phazmun wants to uncover the truth behind the Sinking of Drakkaris and the Azure Heart. He eagerly awaits the coming Remembrance Festival, held each century at the last remembered location of Drakkaris at sea.

Character's Name: Beorgric Heldenhammer, known as Blackbeard

Race: Dwarf

Physical Description: Short and stocky, muscular rather than fat. Big braided black beard. Grizzled appearance. Wears rough wool and leather clothes. Wields a big falchion.

General Backstory: Was born as the oldest son and heir to the chieftan of the Red Mountain clan. When his father passed, his uncle usurped the throne by concocting a plot in which Beorgric was falsely accused of losing a sacred dwarven relic, the Fist of Durin Heldenhammer. Beorgric was exiled for the transgression, branded as a traitor and sentenced not to tread on dwarven soil until he repays his debt, on pain of death. He travelled far away from the lands of his kin, to the one place they wouldn't go - the sea. There, he joined a crew in search of treasure and has spent the past decade adventuring, trying to amass a fortune large enough to regain his honor among his people. He has risen to the position of quartermaster - a job that suits him well, given his dwarven affinity for gold and riches.

Special Abilities: Sturdy and strong, brave and headstrong, good with gold, can see perfectly in the dark, can't swim.

Personal Goal: Buy his way back into his clan and exact revenge on his uncle.

Race: Water Genasi

General Description: Davvie has water blue skin, dark blue eyes with heavy lashes. She has white, shoulder length hair that has the appearance of and behaves similarly to rolling sea foam.
Davvie wears a long, dark blue coat. She wears a cutlass in its scabbard on her left hip, a flintlock pistol on her right hip, and her prized, water damaged violin on her back. Captain Jones's violin is heavily decorated with golden in-lays depicting a school of fish on the front and a sprawling kraken on the back.
Davvie is bubbly, and easygoing the vast majority of the time. She loves her ship, music, and the sea. While she would never express disdain for treasure, Davvie is more enthralled by the adventure of acquiring treasure than amassing the gold itself.

Background: Davvie grew up, raised by her adoptive human mothers, in a coastal village called Coral Cove, a common pirate port that is protected by high coral walls which frequently sinks uncautious sailors. It is here that she fell in love with the mystical realm of pirating. It is also here that she fell in love with music, especially the sea shanties coming from pirate vessels, and found her treasured violin when it washed ashore. Davvie taught herself to play the violin with music sheets she was given, she found, or she stole. Now 40 years old, Davvie climbed aboard her first ship at 16 years, fueled by wanderlust, and became Captain Davvie Jones at 32 years old.

Personal Goal: Captain Davvie Jones's pet project is her search for the legendary Devil's Golden Fiddle, a golden fiddle once upon a time owned by a renowned teifling bard, long since disappeared. It's location and even whether it exists are unknown.

Location: Turtle Island is a small island and a distant speck on the horizon of its neighbors of the Golden Archipelago, named for their golden sands and the golden halos the islands appear to wear in the midday sun. Turtle Island is supposed to be inhabited only by birds and turtles, however, inhabitants of its nearest neighbor, Wallawah Island, claim to hear odd music coming from the uninhabited island most nights between 12 and 3 am. Once, it wasn't uncommon for the people of neighboring islands to go to Turtle Island to snare birds and the island's large turtles. Now, no one goes near it.
On Turtle Island, having conjured a magnificent mansion (Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion), a teifling bard known as Caspia Dagonhook now lives in not so quiet luxury, away from the public eye and out if much of its memory.
Why are they, who once reveled in the spotlight, now hiding between dimensions on a far flung island? Does the crew care?
More importantly; how will they react once they discover what the crew is here for?
