How they feel about their gender is fluid day by day, and how they present themselves is reflected in that. Normally androgyny is the name of the game. Their soft curves are easily covered with a bit of binding or baggier tops, and the slight muscles they’ve developed add to the look. Vin doesn’t seem particularly muscular - and they don’t need to thanks to their Green Lux. But they’re fit and in shape. Their lips often pull up into a smile that doesn’t quite reach their eyes, closer to a smirk in most instances. Their thick, dark brown hair falls just below their chin - cut into shaggy layers. They normally leave it loose unless their niece has decided its dress up Uncle Vin day. Their bangs fall messily above their eyes. Their warm brown skin is hiding scars only seen up close - wounds from knives, or bullets, and stretch marks from constant shapeshifting. Their hands are rough, nails often chipped from hard work. They have two lobe piercings, often adorned with hanging chain earrings, and their right nostril pierced. They have a tattoo of a lark on their upper left thigh with radiant light around it. Vin’s clothing varies depending on how they’re feeling, but it all follows a similar vibe - Hot Topic punk or streetwear style. On more masculine days they like their baggy cargo pants in greens, blacks and camo print along with sleeveless crop tops or hoodies. That being said, in a neutral and unaffected state, Moriah's facial features are generally soft and rounded, sporting green eyes and a relatively small but similarly rounded nose. Her skin is often intentionally pallid and pale as an aesthetic choice, though because of this, her skin is often cold to the touch. Otherwise, her figure itself is generally toned without reaching the point of overtly masculine: As Matriarchs of the Whispering Flesh typically do, Moriah closely relates to and identifies with her femininity. Thus, striving for perfection in the same way a sculptor may, Moriah has spent many years perfecting her "neutral" figure. Now, no matter how many changes she may make in a day or a week, her form will naturally return to solid and densely packed muscle fiber hidden under a thin but softening layer of subcutaneous fat. As for her fashion sense and general aesthetic, Moriah continues the trend of her family by following boot-covered footprints toward the nearest Hot Topic (The old one, not... Whatever it is now.). Call it punk-chique, vampire goth, whatever label one assigns to the combination of military wear and otherwise scandalously chopped and screwed band tees and denim is what she loves. Crosses, rings with skulls, deep black hair and thick makeup, tattoos: Anything she can do to look like a member of a clan of bloodsuckers, including false fangs, she's happy to be caught in. Another quirk of her powers is the ability to form and shape stains on her skin, giving off the impression of makeup and tattoos that are said to dance across her body like moving pictures. |

23 | Robin Connor Woods | He/Him "What’s most important is that we’re there for each other." | Description: Bryn’s only brother, and the second Woods child - Robin is a well put together and calm young man. While he didn’t have to take on the same responsibilities his sister did when their father died, he did help fill the gap at home left by their mom’s near catatonic state for years while Bryn worked. Thanks to this Robin has a good head on his shoulders, and is more mature than his age would suggest. He’s kind and caring, often looking over other people first. Robin was inducted into the Grove at a young age, younger than his sister was. He was never trained to be a leader like her, even with him actually kindling. This wasn’t something that bothered him - he saw his skills as lying elsewhere. He’s a supporter, not a leader, and has found his place as one of the few remaining healers outside of the Grove itself. Essential to avoid frequent use of the Grove itself. Outside of being a Grove member he works as a carpenter - often finding work in the city itself. Robin is a taller man, at six-one, with shoulder length dreadlocks and his fair share of tattoos. He’s often found smiling, and his gentle temperament is obvious after only a few moments spent with him. Thanks to his job he’s muscular, and is often found in band t-shirts and jeans. Abstraction: Adept - Red & Green Lux. Channeler: a worn leather watch Robin specialises in the manipulation of wood, with some skill in floramancy as a whole. He is also a talented healer - one of the best in the current Grove. He can heal people through plants and trees he can control, allowing him to easily heal anyone within his sight as long as they’re in contact with the ground. |

19 | Marigold Eirin Woods | She/Her "Ain’t it nice that the world’s so fucked up, and we’re supposed to just keep living in it?" | Description: The youngest of the Woods children, Marigold is someone with plenty of love to give - but also often harsh and unyielding. She loves her family, friends and community with all her heart but she also has a deep anger towards all the shit she views as unfair. She’s confident in herself but stubborn and prideful, traits that often lead to her clashing with her older sister, Bryn. In many ways the two are similar, Mari just wasn’t forced to mature like Bryn was. She was spoiled the most by all of her older siblings, so she’s very much the baby of the family. While Mari was only eleven when she kindled, she spent a few years learning with her mom (who was a bit better by then) and getting to actually be a child. She didn’t join the Grove until she was sixteen. On the side of her job in a local shop, Mari is a bassist. She has a band with three other teens from Raven’s Rest - they mostly just play in the local pub, but they’re hoping to make it big one day. She’s the least enthusiastic about her Grove involvement - less so even than her sister who moved to the city- and her mother’s death hit her hard. Even though she’s not so much into the Grove, she’s very in tune with her magic. Mari is five-six, with coily natural hair and multiple piercings. She has to wear glasses, and is almost always found in some kind of goth look with darker makeup to match. Abstraction: Adept - Red & Green Lux. Channeler: a silver ring Mari specialises in primarily the manipulation of plants, earth and rocks. This is often combined with transformation of her own body. She has a high control over both, though her application can often be rough when it comes to the earth and rock manipulation. |

Hobbies, frowned on as they were, were scarce and he garnered one of the few that appealed to a meticulous nature. These days, the Aberration makes scarfs, socks, and little mittens for his own bemusement. Unnatural Arrogance ⫻ Confidence unbounding towards his superiority to Blinds and even to a degree Adepts, he can be considered supremely lacking in most forms of fear against them. A failure to prepare is the only fault in Idles-In-Shade’s mind which could undo him. | Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "It’s not a perfect fit, I admit, but not much is." Once a common enough American Red Squirrel, he has entirely kept the veneer of being a common enough American Red Squirrel. Measuring in total just 12 in, to include the tail, and having a normative weight of around 2.2 lbs, Idles-In-Shade is of the complete opinion that altering this arrangement would generally also defeat the purpose of the arrangement. Only a few markers might differentiate him from another, that being a number of small enough scars about the back as well as, at times, a small enough scarf about his neck. A minor concession to pride as it is, the Aberration remains quick enough to put such an item away before a Blind might take any measure of notice. |
Berny.Park | |

"Normal people just don’t go to Berny Park." | Seated in the lower district of Cloverfield and encompassing just a little over a square mile of the dilapidated area, Berny Park is a fixture from decades past that’s maintained its existence through the fact that it wasn’t maintained at all. These days, the lights never work, the singular pair of bathrooms are always locked, and the foliage is eternally overgrown. It was, after all, one of the first things to be cut in funding by the city commission in the lower district. The park kept its survival, politically speaking, by both the advocacy of certain unofficial police opinions who feel it to be a good trap for the criminal element in the region and the advocacy of certain less-than-official groups who feel it to be a good place for their people to disappear into the night. A small population of homeless have camped there several times, though the most experienced find it to be a poor place to stay long. Camps within the park are abandoned in less than a week, more often than not, and those who leave behind their belongings or trash often find their way back to the site to clean up the mess. Berny Park, for its part, has gained a reputation in recent years for a place one can easily get lost in, though for the most part people attribute this to drunkenness or the fact that not a singular lightpost works. Those who get lost there are often blamed for their own lack of direction. |

He's the CEO and controlling shareholder of Metizo Felix and Foster Industries (MFF Industries). Ioan Foster is a prominent industrialist, philanthropist and leading citizen in Cloverfield, with interests in many of Cloverfield's businesses. MFF Industries specializes in energy and manufacturing. In short, the man commands wealth and resources. Mad Scientist ⫻ Foster is an engineer by training, and a self-declared scientist/inventor by disposition. Despite never actually completing a degree, it's well known that some of MFF Industries key innovations have come from his work alongside the employees of MFF Industries' secretive, and allegedly ethically challenged R&D Division. He is an extremely capable artificer things and processes. The Devil's Bargain ⫻ If you ask most people about his business they'd say he's an inventor, or perhaps a business magnate with diversified investments around Cloverfield. If you ask Foster himself, he'll say he's in the business of people. More specifically: making deals, trading favours. Foster's been around awhile - engineering things for people and he's owed a lot of 'favours' from people in both high and low places around the city. | Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "Here boy, hang onto that. I used to shine shoes this same corner when I was your age. Now look at me? Not bad for a south side street rat eh?" Ioan isn't a physically imposing man. He's shorter and smaller than average. His physician tells him it's a result of nutrient deficiencies growing up and breathing air from the coal districts most of his life. He does, however, have presence. Sharp, angular features, a hawkish nose and possessed of an air of confidence. He's invariably seen in only in tailored suits, waistcoats, with polished shoes. Despite the deficiencies of his age, and well-known years of hard living at 47 he looks remarkably young, passing for a man in his early thirties. He's a ruddy complexion of mixed ethnicity, notable mostly for the old scars that mark his face, and a thick head of dark hair punctuated by a pair of shrewdly piercing blue eyes. |

"The blazing heart of Cloverfield." | The original MFF powerstation at the same location was originally destroyed during the cataclysm, but was restored to limited operations soon afterward, running on a single of the station's reactors. Plans are underway to add additional capacity and reconnect to the statewide grid, in the meantime despite being located in south side, most of the power generated is sold north side. This also functions as the headquarters for MFF Industries, with its R&D Division maintaining extensive, secure underground facilities beneath the outbuildings. |

Allowing MFF to quickly restore power. More than a year later, debris clearance and reconstruction of the previous sections of the plant are still ongoing. Despite being located Southside, much of the plant's available power is actually sold to the north-side by the city's distribution grid. MFF Industries have promised to restore reliable power Southside as new natural gas facilities are installed. When asked why another reactor like #5 is not constructed, Ioan Foster cites cost issues. In truth, the cost he's citing has nothing to do with with dollars and the design details and process of reactor #5's construction are closely guarded secrets. In the meantime, Cloverfield this one reactor is responsible for powering virtually the entire city. What fuels it? Don't ask questions you don't want the answers to. |
THE TWIN-HILL.COVEN | |

"Mother Deer, bless our home and keep our wayward children safe." | Founded almost seventy years ago, the Twin-Hill Coven is a third-stage branch of the powerful Italian cult known as The Sisterhood of Whispering Flesh. Having completed their obligatory service to the Grand Trunk, founders Bella and Allegra Motta chose to utilize their influence to break away from their Mother Branch- The Coven of Untouched Glory. The two sisters, having spent their formative years as officers in the Whispering Flesh's own mercenary company per the traditions of the Matriarchal Lines, were well-traveled and cultured individuals; their globe-trotting deployments took them to places where the modern world was rushing in, and places where it hadn't even taken a breath. Their perceptions and opinions were shaped by a seemingly natural desire for fun and pleasure that came with the coming of the Gilded Age, and the Twin-Hill Coven is the absolute manifestation of their will to keep that feeling alive. As a Coven, the Twin-Hill is still fairly young in comparison to something like its Mother Branch, whose three-hundred year history in the United States can be traced back to the first European settlements in Appalachia. However, the relative youth and low number of adherants hasn't taken away from the fact that it's one of the most wealthy branches of The Sisterhood of Whispering Flesh. Through a tradition called the Biological Tithe, the various branches of The Sisterhood of Whispering Flesh are graded and credited by the ultimate leaders living in the hidden city-state of Culla in the Italian Alps. These benefactors, typically leaders of the founding clans, are responsible for the collection of biological materials gathered by the branch cults which are used in countless rituals and profit-making endeavors which keep Culla afloat in independence of the Italian Government as a whole. Magical pharmaceuticals, prosthesis implants, every single bit of raw material is sourced from thousands of smaller contributors around the world. In turn, those contributors are attached to their benefactors through business-style ties that are kept healthy by a consistent exchange of staff and valuable artifacts important to the branch. |
BOSCHETTO.D'SYLVIA | |
............................................................ "As it turns out, it was more like a clearing." | Boschetto - Italian for Grove. That's what the Whispering Flesh scouts called the area when they first came across it almost three-hundred years ago. There's a great deal of contextual evidence to suggest that they were talking about The Grove, as treaties with the Keepers of that time can be dated to within a few years of the initial contact. The Boschetto itself is located on a beautiful twin-hilled rise in the far North of town, and is named after Sylvia Motta who settled the pristine hills before ultimately moving south of Roanoke. This is the home of the Twin-Hill Coven, whose members are involved with various local businesses including a law firm, a detective agency, a clinic and- most importantly -the famed Sin Sisters' Strip Club. Its grounds span a dozen acres, and the compound itself is comprised of eight buildings and plots of tilled farmland which are painstakingly tended to. The majority of "dormitory" houses remain uninhabited, and are mostly meant for visiting delegations from the Mother Branch, or less frequently the Grand Trunk. In total, forty people live there on a permanent basis; most notably Momo Motta who inhabits the main household where her Grandmothers once lived. |
SIN SISTERS'.STRIP CLUB | |

"We bump in the night." | Built on the same ground as the original building, the Sin Sisters' strip club is the crown jewel of the Twin-Hill's Tithe. As one third of the New Leopold Building, Sin Sisters' occupies the eastern part of the twenty-story hotel's ground floor. The club itself is a sprawling facility with a multi-tiered entry scheme to separate Blinds from their money, as well as the majority of the paranormal happenings. Like its predecessor, there's a long and winding entry hall separating the entry doors from the rest of the building, insuring privacy and sound dampening for the more respectable portions of the facility. In the deepest bend, there's an elevator leading to the upper floors of the hotel, allowing those staying in the upper floors to migrate freely and privately between the hotel and the club... A fairly important feature considering some of the shadier practices allowed by the Proprietress. On entry, attending members are given an identification band dependent on their Paranormal status, with the more "specialized" areas of the facility locked except to those who meet the requirements for attendance. Given that the facility is on the ground, one would not expect the level of verticality unveiled on entry. Styled in an industrial-gothic aesthetic and utilizing a massive hole left in the ground from the destruction of the old Leopold Building, the new Sin Sisters' boasts four floors of debauchery and pleasure. Starting from the top, one can find private rooms separating blind VIPs from the rest of the world, where groups of up to twenty can book private shows and events. Outside of these rooms, you can look over the balcony and down to the absolute ground floor. It's there that the general mass of regulars and Blind guests are corralled, as well as anyone who wants to utilize the space for the "Club" aspect as opposed to the "Strip" aspect. |
