New system information! I'd been thinking of how to work with Reiatsu, and here it is.
This is all in the first post of course, but I'm posting it here for everyone to see.
REIATSU & REIRYOKU
Reiryoku or spiritual power is the total amount of spiritual energy your character possesses. There are two ways to become incapacitated in this RP, one is being defeated and succumbing to wounds, and the other is running out of Reiryoku. Reiryoku can be expended to boost Strength for singular actions, and is used for particularly powerful techniques and Kido (not all techniques and Kido spells require reiryoku usage).
Reiatsu is your general aura, and spiritual pressure, the amount of pressure your reiryoku puts out. The more reiryoku you possess, the more of it spills out of you constantly as reiatsu. It can also be actively boosted by focusing entirely on its output (this does not spend reiryoku).
One big benefit of Reiatsu is that the value of your Reiatsu is how much you can spend on Reiryoku actions for free. For example, if your Reiatsu is 50, then you can use 50 Reiryoku for free granted the action does not exceed it. If it does exceed your Reiatsu, you will pay the cost minus your Reiatsu.
Scenario (Strength boost, free)
Reiryoku: 1000
Reiatsu: 200
Desired Action: Spend 200 Reiryoku to boost Strength
Result: Reiatsu is 200, this action is free
Scenario (Kido with higher cost)
Reiryoku: 2000
Reiatsu: 400
Desired Action: Cast Soukatsui for 600 Reiryoku
Result: Reiatsu is 400. 600-400=200. Only 200 Reiryoku spent.
Ohhhh I like that system. Though it means we'll need to assign a Reiryoku value to all of our abilities and kido- will you be giving us a formula to do that ourselves, or will you be looking through them all and assigning them values on your judgement?
There'll be a general guideline eventually, but I'll assign them myself for now.
At the moment, not many actually use it as it's quite early. The system kicks in for more powerful stuff that may only see a couple or a few uses at a time.
I may begin the RP this weekend just to get everyone's characters introduced into the setting. If there's a certain way you want to be introduced, let me know.
For anyone still finishing their characters, fret not. The RP's doors do not close when it begins. You may still complete them as the RP is going.
@Sho Minazuki Srry to ask this but i've remade the story of my character to make more sense, care if change it. it doesn't change any of the main information just the backstory to make sense with the npcs
Personality: Tony is usually laidback and a close-mouthed, yet that depends, for things of his interest, as it could be cooking or playing video games, he loves it and can talk all day about his knowledge or facts about those themes, he particularly acts really chill when he is around a lot of people, to – in his words – even things out, he also kinda gets lost pretty easily… don’t blame the guy.
His fashion is mostly composed of red clothes as he really likes that color, he usually dyes his hair white, he is in fact light blonde, but he really likes the looks that the white locks give him.
He likes spicy food or strong food in general, even going out to experiment sometimes with spicy sauces or peppers.
Backstory:
Anthony was a simple boy growing up, born from a stern yet sweet woman and a soft yet serious man, his childhood and teenage days were mostly unnoticeable compared to any other boy in his hometown, he was raised up as a calm and “neutral” boy as he puts it to word.
Yet, he remembers a friend he had while growing up, Kyle was his name or at least he remembers, he was weirdly macabre, always talking about death and stuff like that, he liked him as a friend though.
But, as time went on, he didn’t seem to age a bit, for example; Kyle appeared to be 15 when Tony was 12, so when Tony was 16, and so when Tony was 18, Also add the fact that Kyle never invited him to his house, if he did ever have one.
For Tony’s parents, Kyle was just an imaginary friend, given the fact that Tony’s father had been found out to be incapable of having anymore children, so the logic pointed out that he was an imaginary friend, as Tony’s interactions appeared more, he was pointlessly sent to therapy, yet he was given no real reason, after some more fails at trying to understand why did Tony saw Kyle, they finally gave up
Kyle never disappeared, he kept appearing to Tony even during his birthday, when his mother decided to move to Japan because of a job possibility that was presented to her, Tony had to say goodbye to Kyle. Tony waved his hand to Kyle from the window of their car. Kyle gave a smile, a smile that Tony likes to believe was sincere, even when it probably wasn’t
The town’s name was Sagamiyama. life there was boring, nothing really happened to him and his parents, his mother did start working at the job and his father’s routine didn’t really change so much as he was a programmer so most of his job was done at their house. Tony had begun to work at a fast food restaurant.
After one particular busy night, while walking down the street to his house, it was mostly silent, he remembers hearing some distant thud behind him, he ignored it, it could have been anything, then another thud, this one he did turned to see, it was mostly dark aside from the street lights, so nothing particular weird was seen. Tony silently chuckled before he turned his head, Just then, he was hit.
Why did you become a Substitute Shinigami:
He was woken up by a blinding shine of light, he had survived the blow, albeit barely, there he saw it, a woman, dressed in black robes which seemed more fit to ceremony than duel, fighting the thing that had attacked him. Once the beast was reduced to a mist, he saw her eyes, they were serious and cold, it reminded him of something, they were almost a carbon copy to… his mother’s gaze.
Her words were blurry, something about a Soul Society and that he was selected to be a Substitute Something, maybe it was the boringness he faced in his current life or the blood loss he was suffering, but his response was a clear and resounding yes.
Some weeks of training passed by courtesy of another of these Soul Reaper people, this one had a comical pompadour and looked like a mechanic, it turned out to be the same mechanic that was some streets from his house.
After the training Tony began his hunts for hollows, he thinks it’s just a game, a game of playing “knight” as he calls it. How wrong will he be in the future?

Tripl- I Mean, Double Spicy Slash Tsubame Gaeshi - A skill-minded technique where the user strikes three times in quick succession to appear as two strikes. A missing or unread third strike intended to be the true attack. A terribly difficult technique to avoid, unless if its from someone like Tony, he sometimes confuses double with triple...
