Very true. You can also consider saving up to upgrade your districts as well.

@The Savant Would Asterion have been telegraphing any of his interest in 93rd Street? Shifting resources in that direction, etc? The operative question being how much observable intel would Glyde have to work on off the bat? Don't want to go hinting to knowledge on his part that he shouldn't be aware of.

@ERode I daresay conflict in Pauper Town is nigh. Though Glyde probably wouldn't be interested in taking it unless Matthias decided to shift his attentions in the other direction.

Starting to realize I put myself into the powderkeg of the city. haha. Del Guarde is 100% going to benefit from not starting shit with anyone and playing Diplomacy rather than Risk, as it were. Also might need to move on Newpoint if I want to work into H. Crossguard, since the Poor Districts aren't gonna generate wealth or personnel quickly enough.

No one probably realizes that he wants 93rd except for Krish. I feel like Asterion is probably not putting eyes on anything or really active lately but he's getting to a point where he wants it but he's probably not stepping at all that way because he plans to run at it. If that makes sense?

Krish probably thinks it's a stupid idea but probably doesn't repeat much of what Asterion tells him to others out of friendship and loyalty for the most part.

Got it. My own plans for 93rd can stand with or without knowledge of Asterion's intent. Assuming I manage to pull off what I'm looking to do. It'll either complicate Asterion's plans, or send a message that he doesn't need to throw bodies at it to get what he wants. Depending when he makes his run, Glyde may just step aside and let him have that District just to consolidate and relieve a pressure point. Otherwise he'd be willing to cut a deal. 93rd street isn't entirely necessary to Del Guarde in the long run.

One post round later:

But yeah, is Asterion gonna go in on 93rd this round?

Asterion could, could do a quick collab if that's the case........

I'm just organizing the chessboard, so if there are any more moves that anyone wants to do for this round, let me know as soon as possible~

I'd imagine Asterion need to resolve the fact a furry is throwing bombs around his district first? Not being able to expand while being attacked feels like a valid balancing mechanic.

I always figured one could accomplish more than one thing utilizing NPCs, like how evierose handled a reaction to a kidnapping and a meeting at the same time. 🤔

I'm figuring more in terms of if resources are needed to defend a district the same as occupying one. The game mechanics could use a bit of fine tuning, IMO. If only to keep poor districts from getting steamrolled through. IMO.

@Little Bird Hmmm... then yes, we could say if you are being attacked, your resources are tied up and you must be in a state of peace in order to use your resources. 🤔 I think that sounds more fair. What do you say?

Accidentally posted in the IC when I meant to send it to you via PM. Please let me know if the post needs a rewrite. Not really sure if attacking grey square is handled the way you want it to be.

'off the books interrogation'

Exactly! Exactly that! owo

@Herald Naahhhhhh, that was perfect. These are easy scores meant to be done quick. I'll write up a little something saying the rest of the gangs in Grey Square have fled. Very, very satisfying post to read. totally not sweating that this guy is gonna be going after Vincent...

For more expensive districts, I'll probably make them a little more sweaty to take over. So in that case, just PM me you want to take over a Comfortable/Rich/Industrial, and I'll collab out the resistance for ya. :>

@Estylwen On the other hand, it seems like you can throw a district into chaos with just a single NPC...which kinda indicates that you could prevent any faction from moving if you just have a handful of annoying people. Cause like, no way that kiddo is actually capable of taking over a district by herself, ye?

@ERode Oh yes that's true. She's not an official attack, she's a distraction....

Ahhhhhhh, now I'm kinda going back and forth here. I don't want to tie anyone up in a scene when they can easily move ahead in another scene. So, if it's alright, @Little Bird, I'm going to say that people can still move and use their resources even if they're being attacked or if there is some conflict in their districts.

A way to make it fair is to have enough NPCs to handle anything that comes your way, and to attack as much as you want with the resources you have during the round.

If Asterion attacks 93rd Street, Glyde can defend as well as do any number of other actions alongside. Glyde could even send NPCs to sabotage Nickel. (Not attack, cause thats expensive, but definitly sabotage). :p

There, I think freedom is the way to go.

Right, I did want to confirm, Est. When you attack a player-owned District, how much does that cost? And does the defending player need to pay a similar price?

Good question. There is no price difference between attacking a player-owned district and an empty district. The price would be tied to what tier the district is, Poor, Comfortable, Industrial, Rich, or Aristocrat.

x To attempt to claim a Poor district = 2 Wealth, 4 Personnel
x To attempt to claim a Comfortable district = 5 Wealth, 10 Personnel
x To attempt to claim an Industrial district = 7 Wealth, 14 Personnel
x To attempt to claim a Rich district = 10 Wealth, 20 Personnel
x To attempt to claim an Aristocrat district = 20 Wealth, 40 Personnel

The one defending from the attack does not pay a fee. The only fee is the 'attempt' that the attacker has to pay. Of course, you're paying for the attempt, and it doesn't guarantee that you'll win.

Does that answer it alright?

Mmm, so in that case, it'd be possible for you to defend your own territory while also attacking to expand elsewhere, ye? Or you could be in situations where you're both attacking/defending each other's districts?

Exactly, exactly. Vincent could pay the fee to attack Jeweled Bank, for example. Antonia could simply defend Jeweled Bank for free, or pay the fee to attack Laterdale in response. That would make the war be fought on two fronts, if that makes sense.
