I'm working on my application now. Can I ask what the image section with "IMAGE/BANNER" in it is for? Is it for a custom banner of the characters name/logo?
First time I ever joined one of these games many many moons ago, I applied as Iron Man and ran straight into someone elses events.
I was a Rookie then.
I mean while maybe a bit of a clumsy way to do this I feel like this is far from the worst crime in a group rp. One of my bigger issues with the Ultimate Comics etc style games is people not wanting to interact/compromise on storylines. Hopefully this format will encourage more interaction!
Don't let the chocolate bits fool you. Those are raisins.
Raisins!?
Not sure that I have time for this, but I have my eye on it and lazily working on a sheet. I won't say who because I don't want to influence anyone away from a concept that I may never apply for, because I'm not sure that I have time for this.
Unless you guys would perform the former, I was thinking about mainly the community living in the neighborhood because I don't know what would be acceptable members for the X-Men cast to use (so the latter is kinda like Danny the Street but without the sentient street, if that makes any sense or requires further explaining).

I really don't see how that would fit into the "low-level vigilantes taking on the mob" concept. I don't think we have any opposition to District X existing in the city, or to playing a character that is known for living there- one of the characters from X-Factor Investigations would fit the bill pretty well.
I sort of have three ideas. All ideas I've done before or tried to do. The first and last kind of have good reasons for why they might be off limits so I figured I'd just list all three.
Street Level Wolverine:
I always like RPing as Wolverine, particularly street level versions of him if that's acceptable. My favorite version of him has pretty much always been the versions where he is not with a team. Wandering, sort of like Jack Reacher, maybe doing little team ups. Doesn't really seem the Team type despite how popular he is in teams. I like him as sort of the "ya coulda been a contender kid" type that just doesn't work well with groups.
If needed I could come up with some reason he's fallen out of favor with the X-Men, seems like there's always a reason for homie to hop on his motorcycle and take off.
History: Spent a lot of time staring into that abyss. Sometimes wasn't the only one looking through my eyes. France, Germany, Africa, Japan, Viet-fuckin-nam, Madripoor, Mexico, good old US of A, Canada of course. Shed blood all over the world, bled a lot of it too. Seen all manner of cruelty and evil, come to the conclusion it, Evil, ain't some alien thing from Hell that reaches out to us every few decades. It's a thing that lives in all of us, some more than others. God knows I've got enough of it in me. Ol' Kurt Wagner taught me plenty 'bout that.
Stare into that abyss and it stares back at you. Me and it we old friends. Very old. Ain't no spring chicken anymore. Body still is, but the shit takes its toll. Wonder sometimes how we do it. How we keep on pushing year after year, decade after decade. More than a few of us been doing this for generations now. Run into folk I've been friends with or enemies ta or both for longer than most folk get to live. Plenty of folk tried to help or tried to stand in my way. I took plenty of their lives, those that tried to stop me, and just me being me ended up getting plenty of them that tried to help me dead. Plenty more of them just wilted, like people do eventually. It's like them Kansas fellas said, Dust in the Wind.
I can't see myself just sitting by while bad things happen. Not in me. But maybe I can stop being such a damn ass about things. Stop running out on friends first sign of them caring a little too much. Got kids to think about, them that don't hate me and ain't tried to kill me at least. I can hope for redemption for them that do want to kill me too can't I? Nothing says I can't. Maybe this old dog can learn a new trick. Maybe this short hairy mangy old mutt can even make up for the dark old days.
US Agent:
I was doing a Captain America for the 1968 version of Marvel that I really enjoyed. Got me exploring sort of his mythos and what he means and that got me in to the Less Than Steve versions of him and characters he impacted. Weapon X, Nuke, and John Walker. I'd like to do it as Nuke and have him be sort of a broken, volatile, tool of US groups. Something like a Homelander vibe in that people are just waiting for him to break and go too far, but he's useful. Not as useful as Captain America of course, that's why Steve is hopping around the world and either Nuke (or if that's too much John Walker) is stuck in NYC.
"I got one more thing for you. Technically it's still in deep storage somewhere. Officially it's still in deep storage somewhere."
My shield. My old original shield, triangular. Three stars horizontal across the top and nine stripes vertical down it's length. Had barely seen this thing since T'Chaka gave me the circular one I always carried.
"It's almost New Years Steve, I want you to enjoy it. I've got one more thing I want to say to you and then I want you to mix in. We've all seen a lot, we've all got stories."
It was a lot to take in, but I was going to try.
"You're more than just a fighter Rogers. I've led men who wanted nothing but a battle, I've known men who were nothing more than fighters, that isn't you. You're a defender, you're a leader. The world didn't love you just because you killed Nazis. Killing something repugnant, even the Nazis, that alone isn't enough to generate love, not real love. They loved you because you defended their brothers, their husbands and their sons. You're a defender, a beacon, a leader, like it or not. You're a symbol of America Steven, it's up to you what that symbol means."
We shared a drink after that. It was kind of hard to pick up a conversation after something like that and he really did want me to talk with the others. Dum Dum had given me a lot to think about and he gave me a little more to get me moving. He gave me a smile and a nod and a light push on the shoulder to spin my stool around, urging me to get out there and talk to the others. I guess that was it, that was my christening. World War Two was over and had been for decades. New wars had been fought, newer wars were being fought. Dugan was right, I was a Leftover now, we all were. Couldn't ask for better company.
Bushwacker:
Much more of an anti-hero of a character. I wrote him as like right on the borderline of a psychopath once some time ago. Similar to US Agent sort of but more of an agent of chaos. More mercenary. Would essentially be playing a villain. In short from the Wiki: Carl Burbank was a priest who abandoned his vows following the drug-related deaths of young parishioners. He joined the C.I.A., which outfitted him with a cybernetic arm and made him an assassin under the codename "Bushwacker", but ultimately he became a freelancer. The character is usually depicted as an adversary to the superhero, Daredevil, and less frequently to the Punisher and Wolverine.
I was having him as a basically agent provocateur/assassin/damn near terrorist working for the shady as F government agency I came up with, Janus.
I get up. Still smoking. Mostly naked now. Most of my skin back, translucent yeah but it's something. Big shit eating grin.
His friends are looking at him. One is indeed putting pressure on one of his wounds, as best he can. It's too late now. Even if I weren't back up and about ready to turn this up he'd still be done for. Internal bleeding. External bleeding. A good quantity of bleeding all around. His other buddy is stuck in a loop. Checking his blood pressure for some reason and telling him to hold on.
Pyro Mutie, he's just staring at me. That different look I mentioned.
Pyro Mutie, he ain't seen nothing like me before. I bring my hand up again. Good and slow. He's in too much shock to stop me and his buddies are too distracted to notice. Not that they could do shit if they did. This time instead of shooting through my palm I take the time to form my fingers into a barrel, slowly aim down it, and give him a little wave before I splatter his friends with his thinking bits and end his night.
I'm just poking my head in to declare tentative interest.
I LOVE Marvel games, but I haven't RP'd in several years. So I'm a bit rusty. However, the idea caught my attention and I wanted to keep up to date with the thread. <3
