Just as an update, I'll have my next post up, hopefully, on the weekend. I won't have time to start writing until Saturday afternoon, but I don't expect any distractions so I should have the time to finish.

How is everyone involved in the events feeling? I know it's extended longer than anticipated, but I'm hoping everyone participating will be able to work together to resolve them soon. If people are feeling stuck, though, please say so.

There isn't a limit per se, no. It's mostly just best judgment. Double posting is a faux pas, unless other circumstances require it. If you're involved in an event, generally you want to make sure others who are also involved have time to respond. But that's where communicating with them ahead of time comes in handy. But if inspiration strikes you, and you want to post every other day, by all means. Though, in that case, if you're not having a back-and-forth with someone else, you'd probably be better off writing one larger post as opposed to a dozen smaller ones posted rapid fire. But, again, it's all best judgment.

I'm feeling good about everything! Honestly, the pace things are moving is fine with me, I usually have time to write posts on a Tuesday so this rate keeps me on top of things without moving too quickly.

I must say the new rivals reveal is making me wish I'd floated the idea of playing a still-under-the-thumb-of-kingpin Emma Frost I had as a concept before thinking it might not be street level enough.

Not that I'm not set on Gwen but such is the curse of the ADHD writer.

I feel like Emma would be way out-of-scope for this game, being an Omega-level telepath and all, but I would be down to jump into a game styled after Rivals if that becomes a parallel game to this.

Also, if this more old-school, fast-paced, short-form style of RP sticks around, I wouldn't be against revisiting the core concept later on to expand beyond street-level stuff, as long as we can still manage to keep people interacting.

Oh certainly that's why I didn't fire off the idea originally, even if she was involved in a lot of street level shenanigans for years under Fisk it would be hard to keel her as such in the rp for long.

Indeed: before we settled on doing street-level NY, one of the other concepts we pitched and discussed was a dedicated X-Men game. Like this one, it would be a more focused game with emphasis on interaction and collaboration. Ultimately we went with this one because it was easier to keep a consistent scale- the Mutants are all over the place when it comes to power levels. That said, if we do start branching out into side games, I think this would be the easiest one to implement.

I do think there's something to the core Rivals conceit of: Villain X achieves a power that threatens the multiverse. Now, alternate reality versions of heroes across the Marvel catalog must team up to take them down. From an RPG standpoint, it provides (1) a clear central threat, (2) reason for heroes to work in teams, and (3) an excuse to play around with Elseworld/non-canon interpretations of characters we've all written a bunch already.

How's everyone feeling about things so far? I'm personally glad I was able to work in a collab so soon. I wanted to make sure I wasn't just writing in my own little corner in this game.

I know the pace of things is a little slower than we all probably envisioned, but, honestly, I'll take that over a massive influx of posts that lead to immediate burnouts from everyone. I do want to make sure the events wrap up entirely, though, so that people can work on advancing their character arcs a little more. The original plan was to get out events much more frequently, but I think having a healthy breather in-between these two and the next set is good. Less frequent, but still consistent. That way it is more in-line with the current pace of the game, and then, if posts are quicker again, we'll adjust to that, too.
