Leith stood in place as he looked at the scene they had stumbled upon. Mar, Althalus, and the rather brusque half-elf that Leith had bumped into a few times over the months were there. From the looks of it, Mar had just had the child. It was quite messy, and it made him feel nauseated. He watched as Annabeth hurried towards Mar and Althalus, and he raised an eyebrow when the Naga's tail coiled around her, Althalus and the baby. Apparently, Mar wasn't comfortable with the gathering of people. Althalus asking everyone to back off seemed to prove the point.

When the medical staff took Mar to the medical wing, Leith remembered something that he needed to do. "Well, this has definitely been an interesting morning, but I have to go find Val," he said as he started walking backwards. "I've commissioned something from her, and I want to go see if it might be ready." And with that, he spun on his heel and started walking the way they had came.

A few minutes later, Leith noticed a familiar person coming his way. When they got closer, he smiled. "Good morning, Xyden. What's with the armour and trident? Are you expecting something big to happen today?"

Annabeth Gulch

By the time the trio arrived to the scene, it seemed like Mar was in great pain. Golems arrived to take Mar away, while Althalus asked them to leave. She had seen him before, and his entire demeanor screamed "Assassin" to her (Dark armor, lots of knives, really good at hiding). Admittedly he scared her. But that fear wasn't going to stop what she came here to do. "Y-y-yeah, of course, but... I come with gifts! And Ssarak too!" Annabeth turned to Ssarak, but something happened. She didn't realize it at first, but she managed to tap into his mind. She saw visions, short and scattered, yet she understood them. They were his children, and suddenly this whole idea began to look like a bad idea. Annabeth realized that she was too headstrong. It was one thing to bring Ssarak along, but her insistence in her gesture of good will did more than annoy the two parents. She realized that she had inadvertently made Ssarak remember his own lost children. What was suppose to be a good day became a reminder of one of the worse moments in his life. Seconds passed and Annabeth was able to rein in her own magic and keep it to her own thoughts, but she was at a lost. It was obvious that Althalus and Mar would like some time alone right now. Perhaps Ssarak needed some time to be with himself too. Annabeth didn't consider any of this, assuming that they all would comply with her whims. The situation became awkward, and all Annabeth felt she could do was at least try to clear out as soon as possible.

"Um... Right. Sorry. H-here's the gifts though... A baby blanket, a little toy, and Ssarak has a pillow. Um... Congratulations. I... I guess we'll just get out of your way than..." Annabeth became quiet as she handed their gifts to Althalus. She whispered for Ssarak and Leith that they should go, though Annabeth simply wandered off on her own. She didn't really think much about what happened aside from having a bit of guilt in her. Annabeth continued to wander aimlessly, soon finding that she had gotten herself lost. She went to a near by window but only saw a wide, untouched field of snow in the distance. Not even soldiers or wildlife. "That could have gone better..."

Lucilia Riovas

Lucilia, Grey, and Meirin soon got to Lucilia's office. She cleared out the room once again for the operation, the third time she had to make it into an impromptu medical ward. Thus, she had one of her closets well stocked with equipment needed for most injuries she suspected she'd run into. "If you'll lay down on the table, I'll begin doing a proper checkup on your injury. Meirin, if you could assist me and hand me materials during the operation, that would be greatly appreciated." Lucilia prepped for the operation by donning a clear white apron, a mask, and tying up her hair. She also put on some gloves made of an elastic material as she set out some surgical tools. Some might think that Lucilia is going a bit too far for what seems to merely be a fractured bone, but Lucilia had her own interest beyond Grey's well being. Though the guard report never mentioned him going on any serious missions, she has noticed that he was able to shrug off many injuries that would put even their strongest guardsmen in a crying wreck. Some were able to tough it through thanks to a surge of adrenaline, but Grey didn't even seem winded when she saw him, and yet thought nothing of his broken arm. Either he was very good at hiding his anguish, and there was more to him than meets the eye. Either way, Lucilia was excited to finally be able to get back to what she loved doing: Experiments!

"Now, this may hurt a little, but I assure you that the pain will subside. Shouldn't hurt anymore than breaking your arm, no?" Lucilia chuckled lightly as she began to heat up her scalpels. "Do you need anything to bare your teeth down onto? A cloth? A wooden spoon? Perhaps Meirin should hold your hand?"

Tyrael Marchosias

Though it hasn't even hit noon back in the Physical Realm, Tyrael had spent about a week in the Inferno. It had been nonstop campaigns, slaying opposing demon armies and assimilating their ranks into his own. And no mere demons either; once his army grew to 30000 strong, he had them take on giant demons the size of towers in order to tame them. For this task he created a group of soldiers who utilized spiked chains and razor sharp swords, who would latch onto the giants and slash at their softer parts until their yielded. When he managed to get his own giants, he used them to fight other giants, and so forth. But he had to be careful. His actions in this plane had alerted the attention of one of the local Archdemons. Tyrael himself cared little about the Archdemon, or the entire campaign. Though death here would mean that he would become a demon, his thoughts were back of home. Or what he was suppose to call home.

The College was merely were he worked. There Tyrael was given purpose, something to do with his immortal life. But his daughter gave him something to live for. In fact the day he went into the Inferno would have instead been the day he would leave the college to visit her. He would have wanted to know what she had been doing, how his servants have been treating her, her thoughts on the world and her wishes. Tyrael wanted to slowly introduce her to the world, when he thought she would be ready to face all the horrors it provided. The horrors he creates. But now she was gone. "NO!" He shouted, much to the shock of some of his nearby guards. They simply looked to him, and he ignored their stares. He reclined back into his seat and stared at the plate of food next to him. He poked and prodded a piece of meat he had been chewing on as he continued to wonder what became of his child and what he had to do to find her, and who to kill for taking her away from him.

When what felt like hours passed, a messenger arrived to Tyrael. "--.. -. . -.. / ..- -- / ..- -.. --..-- / --.. -. .. -.-. -... ..--.." The demon took out a scroll; the paper was made of demon flesh, written in ash. A fairly common way to write things in the Inferno, better than carving everything into tablets or by word-of-mouth. "-.. -. .. / . .... ... -. - .. .-.. -.-- .-. --..-- / .-.. . -- -.. .. .... / -.-- .-- / -.. -. .. / -... -.-. . .-. .. / -.-- .-- / -.. -. .. / .--. -.-. -.-- -.-- - / -.. -. .... -.-- .-. .. --..-- / -. . -- / -- .. .-. -.. / -. ..- -- / .-.. ..- -- -- ..- ..-. .. / .-- -.-- .... / . .-. / . -.-. -.-. ..- . .-. ... .. .-.-.-" Tyrael waved the messenger off, and he hasn't even touched the scroll. "..- / . ... ... .. -... -.. .-.-.- / .-. -.-- --.. / -.- .. -.. / -.-- --- -.. / -.-- .-- / .-.. .- / -- ..- -.- -. -.. .-.-.-" The messenger nodded his head, but than one of Tyrael's Familiar's appeared. She served as his intelligence provider, thanks to her extensive Psychomancy ability and the power to take on other mortal forms. "My lord, I would ask you to reconsider. You have not even read the contents of the scroll, we do not even know what their terms are..." Tyrael was quick to silence his Familiar by merely waving his hand at her. "Does not matter to me. The quicker I gather the troops the sooner we can leave. Once we are finished, we can dispose of the Archdemon." Though her form was that of a giant mass of meat and organs, the Familiar still stood her ground. "My lord, I do not doubt your power or the strength of your army, but one does not merely dispose of an Archdemon-" Tyrael snapped towards his Familiar. He stood up, almost tiny in size compared to his Familiar, but still had an air of intimidation compared to her. "These are my orders. They will be followed. Do you understand?" The Familiar still looked ready to fight, but she conceded nonetheless. "If you are so concerned about the loyalty of our new allies, than you may look over the scroll. I have other business to attend to."

Xyden had almost given up on finding Leith when fate itself seemed to intervene, depositing the Land Strider before him such that he almost slithered right into him and bowled him over. He stopped moments before that happened, but it seemed to him to be proof of the justness of his cause, however grim it may be. The Leith Land Strider questioned his armour, as he had expected. He rarely wore the imposing and vicious shaped armour as it held no purpose in the safe confines of the college, and even more rarely carried his large bladed trident as he had observed that his strength, fangs and constricting coils outmatched the meagre natural defenses of the majority of Surface Dwellers.

He had prepared for this line of questioning, and he delivered his prepared story on cue, relying on the fact that many still considered him something of an enigma to lend it credence. “There are many Surface Dwellers… gathering before the bastions of this place… as though to invade…” He still spoke haltingly as his unusually shaped mouth would never allow for perfect use of the common tongue, but he was at least more familiar with the language than when he had arrived. “The air is permeated… with the stench of fear… and mistrust… I am prepared… should relations… break down.” He knew that the armies were not here to fight, but how could Surface Dwellers be trusted not to give into their hatred of one another? They were rash and emotional beings that often acted without thinking.

“Leith… I require your… favor…” He began. It had been difficult to make this fit with his story, and he was hoping the Land Strider didn’t question it much. “I need you… to find the staff that are not... tending to the armies… Tell them… I have found Land Striders… that smell... of the armies… on the other side of the college.” He did not know the word for it, but he was implying heavily with his tone that they were not supposed to be there. This was, of course, a lie, as was what came next. “I am tracking the scent… of more… of these outsider Land Striders… to where they should not be… and cannot divert or I will… lose the trail…” Xyden only hoped that this would be sufficient for Leith to rouse the suspicions and draw away the remaining teachers. Then his path to Marya would be clear, Xanaphya willing.

Grey Onyx

Grey was always amazed by the versatility of this office. It seemed that every time he came in here the room was re-purposed into something else. Office, med-bay, kitchen, laundry room, botanical garden (Actually, it was always a garden at the same time), Sauna, bakery, and even a dungeon one time. There was an operating table in the center of the room, and Lucilia had asked him to lie on it. And he did. He was always good at following orders. "Y'know, I've been thinking." He said as he waited for Lucilia to be done preparing. "I think chasing Zaad is pointless. I mean, if he was really dangerous Khan wouldn't let him wander around, right? No, about the worst I ever see hiim do is the odd prank. Even my arm here was just an accident and was more my fault than anything..." He said. He didn't really need an answer, he was just voicing his thoughts. As he finished, Lucilia had asked him if he needed anything for the pain "Heh, do your worst..." He said confidently. He was no stranger to pain. Unbeknownst to him, this was a result of his uniue physiology. It wasn't that he didn't feel pain, that would be a disadvantage. No, he was merely aware of all but the worst pain, allowing him to know when he's in physical danger while also being almost immune to physical torture.

Leith nodded at Xyden's explanation for his armour and weapon. It was always good to be prepared. "Fair enough. Just be sure that you don't cause any trouble that could put the college in a precarious spot. Relations aren't really that great between the armies, and something like a student or teacher attacking a soldier, or vice versa, might cause the relations to break. Who know's what might happen then?"

When Xyden asked for the favour that he had won at the Opening Ceremony, Leith smiled. He had been wondering when the Naga would ask him for his favour. His smile dropped when Xyden said that there were people from the army that were somewhere that they shouldn't be, and that the favour was that he should go grab the staff that weren't busy and tell them of the group while Xyden followed another group. Leith nodded. That wasn't a hard favour at all.

"Okay, I'll go do that. Remember what I said earlier. Oh! And by the way, I don't think that there is anyone from the way I came. Me, Ssarak, and Annabeth happened upon Mar, Althalus and, what was her name? I think it was Alaira. Anyway, Mar just had her kid and was taken to the medical wing." Leith said as hurried past Xyden and in search of either a gargoyle, a teacher, or a staff member, whichever he found first.

Lucilia Riovas

As Grey chatted, Lucilia began to cut open his arm with surgical precision. She had to be careful not to cause him to bleed out, so she did take some precautions and went about her business slowly. For the most part, there wasn't much complications in the operation. She managed to reach the location of the break and identify what she needed to do. But while she was operating, she did notice something odd. "Runes?" Strange. She had heard of some who had runes etched into their bodies, some even into their bones, but they were far and few. Not to mention pricy. Grey was either secretly rich or well connected to have them carved into his own bones. But what did they do, she wondered? Lucilia continued to cut open his flesh to investigate and chatted with Grey to keep his distracted. "Oh, I wouldn't say that. Zaad brings his own brand of trouble, mostly with others. He tends to test peoples patience. Unfortunately, some people lose their patience and, well, cause trouble. But since you've come along and kept an eye on him, he's been busy trying to avoid you. Which means no one else has to deal with him..." Lucilia than shot a look at Meirin, who was just standing there. "...Usually. But things could be worse if it weren't for you. But please, promise us that you won't over do it? I know Zaad, like all demons, can be a pain in the ass, but don't get yourself hurt on his behalf. If possible, hurt Zaad instead." Lucilia didn't even bother to hide her own distaste for demonkind as she used unique tools to alter some of Grey's Runes. She may have been the teacher of Herbmancy and was a master Alchemist, but she didn't spend all her time at the college on just those two subjects. She was no Runecrafter, but she knew her way around them nonetheless. And now she could test her skills...

After some close calls, Lucilia set Grey's broken bones and began close up his arm. But when she got to the point she needed to suture it close, she cursed quietly when she realized she had no needles. She could still bandage up Grey's arm, but it would leave an awful scarring if she didn't close it up properly. "Meirin, would you be a dear and head to the infirmary and pick up some suturing needles for me?" Lucilia began measuring Grey's arm to determine what sort of cast she should fit him with. She was a bit excited for what she discovered in Grey's Anatomy, more so if what she did turns out well. Or not. Hey, she was trying to help Grey.

Xyden merely nodded in response to Leith, but the moment the small Land-Strider had left, a shiver ran through his fins at the news of the abominations birth. This would make things harder, but it would also mean Marya would be far less able to resist. That was good. He slithered away at the quickest pace he could, rushing to follow the strong smell of Marya and those with her.
When he arrived at the infirmary, he half expected it to be barricaded. All there was was a single, albiet rather large, Land-Strider female dressed in armour and carrying a long pointed weapon of wood and burnt iron. Xyden approached the Land-Strider slowly, so as not to spook the primitive beast, and looked straight into its uncovered eyes. "Why do you block the door... to this place... Land Strider..." He asked as clearly as he could.
Alaira had followed along, and had noticed that some of the medics were unnerved by her presence. Naturally, who wouldn't be intimidated by a nearly eight foot tall woman in full plate? Still, they allowed her to tag along. Likely because they didn't want to argue and she didn't actually seem like she was going to hurt them. In any event, she decided to stand guard ouside. When she told a few of the medics this, they seemed confused. Why would a baby need an armed guard? Anyhow, she hadn't been standing outside for long when an odd sight made itself known. Everytime I think I've seen it all something weirder comes along... She thought. Some kind of fish... snake... man had approached.
Now, the thing that set off alarm bells was this guy was armed and armored, and definitely seemed healthy. Now, seeing as she was in full blown paranoia mode, she naturally assumed this guy was here to murder the baby (Irony). But a warning was in order. "I'm here to keep Lyn safe." She said. With that, she flipped her Lance around and made a quick circular slice at the ground by her feet, the blade sparking against the stone. "Now why does a perfectly healthy-looking snake dude want with the infirmary?" She asked.
Xyden looked the Land-Strider up and down as she flourished her weapon. She was not obeying his commands as she should. He hoped he would not have to do anything more drastic than he already was, but no mere Surface Dweller would stop his righteous task. "My reasons... are my own... Surface Dweller" He almost spat the final two words, as though they were dirty to even say. "Stand aside." He said, drawing himself up to his formidible battle height oh 8'2. He did not brandish his Trident, but he was ready to use it to move the Surface Dweller aside by force if necessary. It wasn't his intention to injure the witless beast, but if he had to incapcitate her, then that was what he would do. His spiked fins were not yet extended to increase his profile, but would be the moment a hostile movement was made.
Alaira merely smirked. This guy thought he could bully her out of the way, cow her into compliance. Wrong! If one thing was for sure, her stubbornness was legendary. "I'll stand aside when I'm dead, fish." She said. However, she knew this guy was no pushover. Furthermore, she was indoors and she had to guard the doorway. This sonuva bitch sure had a laundry list of advantages, that's for sure. However, what was important was getting the first blow. She decided that something to stun the bastard was in order. Or at least wind him. She very quickly flipped her lance around and rushed forward as fast as she could, aiming to jam the blunt end of her lance right into his stomach. There was no going back now.
Xyden hadn't been expecting quite such an overt show of aggression from the Land-Strider, and he was not fast enough to block the strike before it struck his armoured stomach. The impact was quite significant for such a lithe creature, largely because of the weapon she was wielding, and he doubled over somewhat, however his trident was already in motion. rather than strike directly at the woman, his weapon was aimed at her own. His tridents three blades, though primarily designed to inflict large, bleeding wounds, could also easily be used to catch another weapon, and this is what they were aimed to do. at the same time, his free hand rushed to grab the end of the lance that had just struck him.
Well, this'd be a good one, that's for sure! Alaira was beginning to feel the familiar red haze of battle overtake her again, and she welcomed it. It had been quite a long time since the last time she had fought to the death, and she planned to enjoy it. As the blow connected, she was aware that the fish... man... whatever had his trident in motion but she didn't really wanna find out what his target was. She also saw his hand moving and in the split second she had she decided that she probably wouldn't have time to dodge, so she did the next best thing. She was about to do one of her Aeromancy jumps, but not to ascend, oh no. To deliver the nastiest uppercut she could. So that's what she tried to do.
Xyden felt the familiar feeling of a weapon being caught solidly between the prongs of his trident and as he began to twist his trident to ensure his control, he took the time to grab the end of the weapon solidly with his open hand. The grip was jarred when the land-strider executed a fairly unorthodox attack, rather than dodging away or trying to struggle for her weapon, she rushed in to make an unarmed strike against him, apparently also employing magic. The unarmed strike struck him on the point of his chin, craning his neck upwards as he rolled with the blow as best he could. He did have complete control of the Lance, however, and he pulled it close and began extending his tail towards it. It would likely be damaged beyond use if he could get his coils around it.
Alaira was propelled into the air without incident, but she had lost her grip on her weapon, the bastard had caught it! Well, it was time to give him a choice. She quickly grabbed onto his head, and was preparing to snap it. Though he would likely very easily get her off of him, it might mean she could shift his focus enough to save her weapon. Though she likely wouldn't take this measure if she was thinking more rationally, she wasn't thinking rationally, and decided to pump a bit of electricity through her hands, into his head. Now, what would the fish do, she wondered?
The Surface Dweller probably thought that by going above him, she would gain some kind of advantage. Against another of her kind, that might be true, but Xyden was used to fighting in htree dimensions, and it was infact easier for him to think of his opponents threat range in such an area. Nonetheless, he had let her too close for comfort, and he prepared to execute a vertical strike to force her to move. His tail slithered towards the weapon even as his hands let go of it, and it was caught in the begining of his coils. He would proceed to slide it up his tail until it had several coils around it and then constrict, but for now there was a more pressing issue.
The trident began its ascent, but rather than the elegant, aimed vertical strike it would have been, it turned to a wild jab as electricity coursed through his skull, causing a kind of pain he'd not felt since fighting the worst of the inferno-fish in the depths. It hurt severely, but the largest effect was surprise - he'd not expected such an attack from a Land Strider. He'd have to treat her more like the denizens of the deep now, lest he be struck down by understimating his foe.
Alaira felt his arm move, so that likely meant she was goingto get stabbed if she lingered. She let go, but as she fell the trident caught a glancing blow through the plates on her armor, giving hera nasty gash. If that attack was just a little more precise it would have speared through bone and ruined her arm. Quickly, she rolled and yanked her weapon away from his tail as she jumped back. What was with this guy? Such might blows delivered but it barely seemed to have an effect. At least, no lasting effects. "You will not harm a hair on her head, you hear me! I'm gonna tear out your heart and use its juices to season the steak I make outta your corpse!" She roared, as she rushed back in. This time, she was planning to slide by him and maybe tear out some of the webbing between the spines on his back.
Xyden caught the smell of land-strider blood the moment his trident cut into her flesh. "You... are beaten." He said. He didn't want to injure her more than he had too, there was no good reason to kill her, it would be unjust. "Stand Aside." Was all he said in reply to her screaming. She didn't do it though, instead rushing close and towards his back with her weapon pointed. He wasn't swift enough to dodge entirely, and the bladed lance cut into his webbing between the spines on the fins, tearing it until it deflected off one of the metal spines. He let out a wet hiss in pain from the strike, but his tail was already in motion, rising from the ground and rapidly moving towards her legs even as he twisted his body to face her. For such an attack, some measure of vengeance had to be taken.
Alaira didn't have time to celebrate her scarring of the Naga, as she felt her leg get caught by his coils. She quickly tossed her weapon down the hall, far enough so that he couldn't reach it, but she'd be able to reach it faster if she got free. She knew she as only otherwised armed with a dagger, but she wasn't close enough fr a good surpise attack with it. Although, there were some short spikes on the knuckles of her left gauntlet. They couldn't do much in he way of actual wounding, but pain, scarring, disfigurement, sure. Her goal with her next strike (She assumed he would dodge to the side) was to hit the side of his face and dig into it's flesh, in the hopes that the surprise would get him to loosen his grip.
Xyden did not dodge the females punch, rather he moved straight towards her, pulling her closer with his tail as it slithered rapidly up her body, constricting slightly as it went. Nothing she could do would stop him now that she was in his coils. He brought his trident up around behind her head and reached for it with his free hand. He weathered the strike to his face, though he could smell his own blood having been drawn. he began to prepare the venom in his fangs for a bite that would end the fight, but he wouldn't try such a risky strike until he had more of an advantage.
It was at this point a crazy idea formed in Alaira's head. This guy was so ridiculously goddmn durable on the outside, wouldn't he be a lot weaker on the inside? Even though she managed to strike him right square in th face, it didn't seem to affect him much. Sure, there was that fishy smell, likely his blood, but it did little to assure her that he was wounded all that much. She didn't have any way to cut him open though, the coils were to high for her to draw her knife. However, she noticed he had opened his mouth a little, and without thinking her arm shot out and she shoved her hand in his mouth "Nighty-night!" She shouted as she pumped every last damn bit of electricity she had left into him.
Xyden was shocked at the audacity the woman had, to shove her hand into his mouth. He remembered too late that she was like a devilfish with her attack and before he could relieve her of her arm with an aimed bite he felt electricity surge through his body. It was incredibly unpleasant for him, and had his muscles not all been constricting at once, he might've screamed. As it was, his jaw snapped shut because of the effect the electricity had, his envenomed teeth finding a soft spot in the armour and sinking slightly into the flesh. Unfortunately for alaira, the rest of his body constricted too, and while it disabled his arms, his coils, now wrapped around the woman, squeezed as tight as they could around her.
Alaira might've regret her most recent course of action had it not been for the immense pain clouding everything. Not only did some kind of poison make its way into her arm, but his coils had apparently unanimously decided to crush her lower body to powder. She screamed, not the usual kind of scream, a pitiful scream. This wasn't mere pain, this was agony. It was over shortly, but it felt like centuries. She couldn't move her legs, she was exhausted beyond measure, and that venom was coursing through her veins. She was released, and fell against a wall. Before he left, she managed to ask one question, in between coughing up blood. "W-w... Why-y?..." she barely managed to rasp out.
Xyden looked down at his fallen foe through a vision clouded by pain and the aftershock of the electric attack. Despite it all, he regretted that she had been so injured in this fight, as he could tell her legs were in unnatural positions. Before she lost consciousness, she managed to ask him one question. Why? She deserved to know after what he had done to her. Even though his tongue felt like sand, he couldn't smell a thing and his mind was clouded, he did his best to answer. "The abomination... must... be destroyed. It is... the law." With that, he left her to her agony and shook himself waiting a moment to regain his senses before entering the infirmary to complete his task. He turned back to her then, for just a moment, unsure if she would hear him at all, and spoke. "You should have... stood aside... This could have been... avoided."
So Alaira's fears were true. She wondered through the pain for a moment, if something similar had happened when she hersef was born? Yet, she wouldn't be able to stop him. She had failed. Lyn would die because she wasn't strong enough. She felt a tear or two stream cross her face. And then, he spoke to her again. She felt angry, she wasn't sure she had ever felt this angry. "A-and -Cough- l-let you... M-murd-der an inf-fant?..." She managed to say. She felt that she wasn't much longer for the conscious world. [b]"I-i'd rather... D-die..." She said, before turning her head and coughing more blood onto the stonework. "L-lyn... I'm so... Sor..." She tried to say, but that was all the strength she had left, and she fell unconscious.
Xyden didn't turn back to her as she uttered a few more words with her last few agonised breaths of consciousness. Instead, he waited for her to stop. Once she had, he said softly, largely to himself "It is what... must be done." He didn't know if he was trying to convince her unconscious form or himself.

Meirin was content to watch Lucilia fix Grey's broken arm. This was not the first time she ever saw someone being cut open to heal them, hence an saying she was taught; Give a knife to a doctor or a murderer, and both would use it differently. It was still a bit disturbing how casual the two were about it though. Soon Lucilia asked Meirin to fetch her some suturing needles at the infirmary. "Yes ma'am." She quietly left Lucilia's office and headed off towards the Infirmary. Along the way however, she nearly ran into Leith. He seemed to be in some sort of hurry. "Leith! You seem busy. What's wrong?"

Divine and Rude Awakening…

Xanaphya, Desya, and Kyiir

This wasn’t good, thought Xanaphya as she cursed her grandson’s foolishness. He might’ve suffered a bit for it but it did nothing to stop his determination, a trait fixed firmly within the Naga race, as he moved into the Medical wing. A grim fixed look upon his maw and easily he moved inwardly, his path unhindered now. She knew what he was going to do now. A sad, deep regret which spat at her in rage for not seeing it before now had caused her to act fast. Or Kyiir’s wrath would rain upon her son without mercy, turning him into another Helkyso.

Her hand touches the woven cloth, its thin substance fell apart as one by one, her sisters fell onto the floor. First Dyesa fell as she stretched her many beautiful white wings. Her long white tan hair fell to her back middle and pooled upon the floor, her body shifted upright slowly. Her white eyes shifted to look on to the final sister who had fallen to the ground. Her dark hair covered her face and her bright, chocolate eyes stared upon Xanaphya. She looked like any land Naga with the dark colored scales and diamond pattern, her slightly tinted green skin faded into flesh color near her head.

She spoke, slightly irritated, to her elder sister. “What is the meaning of this Xanaphya? Why did you wake us both up?”
Xanaphya’s fins flexed instinctively defensively at her sister’s rough tone and her words fought not to hiss before she answered. “I need your help to save your offspring.”

Kyiir’s eyes flicked with concern then faded into anger. “Why is that?”

“One of my many grandsons has a foolish notion in his head and is determined to end the Naga Marya’s and her newborn daughter’s life.” The goddess answered grimly.

Kyiir’s fingers fisted, her arms trembled with angry in her reply. Her body started to rise, quicker than she was ready as her tone became snappish towards the discovery about her blood. “What do you mean end? He aims to kill her and the newborn?”

“Yes…” Xanaphya answer, she was filled so much shame that she couldn’t look at her sister.

“I won’t let him.” Kyiir’s voice threatened, her mind turned inwards and upon the College. Already she was pouring her power into a stone Gargoyle, the figure shifted into her war likeness and appearance slowly. To those who were unfamiliar about the Land Goddess, her face and figure would’ve looked just like the only other female Naga within the College itself.

Xanaphya looked horrified when she spotted what Kyiir was doing within the basin. She knew her sister wouldn’t have an ounce of mercy for her son and the thought filled her with dread, her head turned to Desya. The eldest couldn’t allow her sister to murder her own grandson. Dyesa nodded and rose, following her sister towards the basin where they located two Golems nearby. It would take time unfortunately as their sister was ahead of them. Their minds sank into the Golems' and erased Uicle’s control, their forms started to take shape quickly.

Cynn Ellime
Cynn awoke.

It felt like it had been months since she'd last done so, and as she blinked the sleep out of her eyes, she smiled. If she had to guess, she'd say about four. Still, she was awake now, and it felt so good to finally be back at what she loved to do. She coudln't help feeling like it would be all uphill from here.

She rolled over and stared at the empty wall behind the bed across the room. The girl who slept there was never there when Cynn woke in the morning. Still, she was always there when Cynn returned to the room at night, so at least the elf's awkward demeanor hadn't put her off.

Anna...well, whatever her name was, was the closest thing to a friend in the student body that Cynn had. Sitting up and shaking out her short, white hair, she reconsidered. The Ssarak fellow was nice enough, judging by the few times she'd bumped into him. He was very...stiff, but it was kind of cute. She had a feeling that he'd make a good friend.

Standing up and donning...well, quite frankly, whatever was on the top of the piles in her drawers, she checked how it had turned out in the mirror in the washroom. White. It was all white. Cynn chuckled at this ironic clothing situation. They'll think I'm some sort of priest, she thought. Still, it didn't look too bad, so she decided to move on out the door and start her day right.

Cynn had a habit. Whenever she could, the wood elf would wander down the paths in the woods. She'd grown accustomed to the twists and turns, and she could find her way around with ease. However, she had one spot in particular that she prefered the most. There was a small clearing with an assortment of stones on which she could practice her Geomancy.

And so, it was in this clearing that Cynn found herself deep in thought, lifting one of the medium sized stones. She was thinking about just what she would do here at the College. Staying forever and being a teacher was not a thought she reveled in. But without any other plan for the future, it was difficult for the elf to decide what she wanted to learn here.

Unfortunately, Cynn was so deep in thought that she didn't hear the person approaching, nor the breathing of something less human, her from behind. It was the cold touch of steel on her neck that snapped her out of her trance.

She gasped, an action which was greeted with a shush and a low snarl.

"Listen here, girly," a tenor voice whispered, breath hot against her ear. "You're going to tell us how to get into the college unseen, and you're going to help us with a little something. Any questions?"

Cynn tried to look up at the man who held her life in his hands at this point in time, but she couldn't make out more than the fact that his eyes were blue. Well, I suppose I should answer him, then, Cynn thought, and summoned all her courage to deliver her line in the most badass fashion she could come up with.

"Just one," said the seemingly terrified Cynn Ellime. She allowed time for the man to become properly curious.

"How badly does this hurt?"

It was at that point that the fifty pound rock that had slowly been rising since the wood elf first felt steel at her neck came crashing down onto the left foot of her captor, staining the back of her pants leg a deep red. Cynn took off running, amidst the scream, navigating the maze of forest with expert speed, feeling that...that thing close on her heels.

She was coming up onto the exit into the courtyard now, It was sure bright out...

Locas Jule

Locas heard a scream. He'd merely been walking the perimeter of the courtyard when it came. He knew that screams weren't given often, and never were they given lightly. The tall, dark-haired human froze, scanning the trees in the direction where the scream had come from.

White.

It had only been a flash of the color, but it had definitely been there. Locas scanned in the direction it had been going, and caught enough glimpses to know whatever it was would soon emerge. He picked up a branch and prepared to confront whoever - or whatever - came out of that path.

Moments later, an elf with white hair and dressed all in garments of the same color, save for the back of her left leg and her neck, came flying out of the woods. Locas and the girl made eye contact, and he managed to see her mouth, "Help," before a larger, darker thing followed her.

In all his time in the worst parts of the realm, Locas Jule had never seen anything so primal and terrible before. The closest known thing to what lay before him, apparently attacking this girl, was a bear, only if that bear had been mangled in some accident and then grown to eight times its normal size.

It was enough to make Locas hesitate, but he wasn't one to ignore a call for help. "RUN," he shouted to the girl, who promptly complied. Locas then jumped, aided by his aeromancy, and brought the branch down on the bear-thing's spine.

The branch snapped and splintered, and didn't quite manage to inflict the same damage to the creature's spine. In fact, it was so far from doing so that Locas thought it might spontaneously reassemble out of pity. However, no such thing happened, and the human was left defenseless in the face of a monster.

He managed to jump around for a while. His added speed kept him out of reach, and for a moment he thought he might even best the...whatever it was. But it was smart, far too smart for a bear. The second Locas went in to get what remained of his weapon, he was met with claws in his stomach and teeth in his right leg. He was thrown onto the ground, and as the bear-thing loomed above him, he could have sworn he heard someone shouting.

Locas Jule then proceeded to black out.

Cynn Ellime

Cynn ran and ran and ran some more, but it was getting harder to breath. She rounded a corner of the college and stumbled. She tried to get back up, but it took way more effort than she'd thought it would. And for some reason she was sweating a lot around the neck. She lifted two fingers to her neck instictively, and was greeted not with sweat, but with something much more sticky.

Looking down, the first thing the elf saw was the bib of red that had seeped onto her shirt. She then turned her attention to the fingers she'd reached up to her neck.

The knife must have scraped her during her escape. Cynn tried to shout, but all she managed was a croaked, "Help...please." She saw a familiar feminine figure round the corner in front of her, and immediately pick up pace.

Cynn Ellime then proceeded to black out.

Leith was having a bit of trouble finding someone to alert about the situation that Xyden told him about. He had been searching for a while for a gargoyle to help him find the closest teacher, but when he found a place for where a gargoyle was, the pedestal was empty. "Come on, Leith. There are people poking around where they shouldn't be, and you're having trouble finding someone," he muttered to himself as he picked up his speed. As he was rounding a corner, he almost ran into Meirin. I really need to be careful around corners, he thought to himself as he chuckled.

He stopped chuckling when she asked why he looked busy. "I am busy. You know Xyden, right? Anyway, he told me that he found some people from the army somewhere they shouldn't be, and he asked me to go tell a staff member about that while he followed another group of people." Leith frowned. "Damn, I should have asked where exactly he saw those people. It would have made it a bit easier. Hey, if you're not busy, do you want to give me a hand finding someone to tell about this?"

"Um, I know him a little..." She simply knew Xyden as the male naga. But that wasn't important, as now it seemed spies were afoot. She could imagine who; there was two armies just camping outside of the college. No doubt they sent their agents to steal college secrets. But Lucilia asked Meirin to get those needles... Surely she would understand, however, that this was much more important. Though she prayed that Grey would recover even if she's a bit late on the delivery. "Alright, let's go! If we're lucky, we might run into the spies ourselves and stop them." Meirin turned and began running, despite not knowing where the spies were. So instead she ran towards the courtyard, to reach the teacher's building and try to find anyone to help. But she found something else along the way.

When she arrived to the courtyard, she couldn't believe what she was seeing. A bear, attacking a student! Meirin didn't bother to try to analyze the situation, she just jumped in and attacked. The bear loomed over the fallen student, no doubt planning on eating him, but instead was met with Meirin's foot right onto the side of it's face. It was a large beast, but Meirin was no small human. This same kick was strong enough to fell the trees back at her home in the mountains, and she did not imagine that the bear's face would fair any better.

The Sacking of Mesa Gaan

The hot sun beat down upon the backs of the humans, and glinted off of armor and weapons. Men sweated and boiled in the heat, even in their light armor. Standing there was a chore. Moving and fighting would be an ordeal. Of course, they wouldn't be doing any fighting if everything went to plan. Their job was to protect the mages from being slain by the Naga monstrosities they were sent, no compelled, to destroy. The Golems, the undead and even the sand itself would be doing their work form them.

More and more time passed, and the sun climbed ever higher. They waited for the signal to begin, the order to attack, fidgeting. Surely the monsters would have noticed them by now? Despite their master's assurances that his magic would prevent them from noticing, old habits die hard. Especially in soldiers. They could all practically feel the arrows being aimed at them, ready to pierce their armor and the soft flesh beneath. Finally, it came. A whisper in the back of their minds.

Now....

The soldier's straightened, preparing themselves to defend, while the mages enacted their magic. All around Mesa Gaan, corpses and stone and Sand golems began to rise. Soon a verifiable horde had arisen, the desert preserving corpses nicely. Without a warning, they all shambled, walked, or slithered forward, towards the town of the Naga. They had only one order; Kill the snakepeople.

However, a pair of Naga's, alone on Sentry duty, went unmolested. Indeed, they didn't even see a sign of the army attacking their home. Of course, one of them had bigger problems. The female Naga's companion suddenly seized up, going stiff as a stature, his spear falling from nerveless fingers. For a moment, he remained unmoving and silent, then a stream of gibberish exploded out of his mouth, unbroken and largely insensible, his eyes flashing between their regular color and a multitude of colors. A minute or so later, he stopped, and looked at his companion, his eyes changing solid colors periodically, and sometimes having a rainbown in them. "Ellys, I take it?" He inquired, ignoring his fallen spear.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naga hissed adn some instantly spat their vemon. The dark liquid did little to the corpses or creatures made of stone, their forms uneffected even when some coiled about and started to sink the fangs in. However, one thing was effective. Namely on the Golems as several Naga sprang forward to wrap about the brutes with their coils then started to crush them. The insides were hollow making it easier. The shape gave away easily with the stone and sand, but with the later, it shifted and tried to soffocate them. Sand moved with a life of its own then ended the insides of a few Naga, lungs unable to gather air...

The moment they died, Malice kicked in. Their eyes took a dull look, lifeless, then launched themselves at the nearest thing. Both ally and foe felt the violent spread into their ranks. Utter chaos broke out among the desert sands bathing it blood and bone alike.

Unaware of the hellish scene carried out in the far distance, Ellys let out a soft warning hiss when her companion started to act oddly. Her body reared and hissed. Her hands tighten on the spear, readied to defend herself should the male attack. When his weapon dropped, he turned to speak to her, saying her name which caused her brow to raise in question. Not because of him speaking her name but in the fashion he spoke it.

"Yes, you know that Israyis." Ellys said with distaste in her voice, her posture hadn't changed from its offensive approach.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Those few Golems left standing and the corpses continued their inexhaustible attack on the Naga settlement. Any Naga within reach was attacked. Sand tried to suffocate them, Stone tried to crush whatever they can grab and those corpses with weapons used them. Failing in that, they used their teeth and claws and jagged stumps of bone. Whatever came to hand. Those Golems and corpses whose legs or tails were crushed beyond repair attempted to crawl in the sand towards the nearest Naga, providing a dangerous underfooting for the unwary. Of course, bigger problems occupied the Naga. Such as not being killed by the walking corpses and golems.

The soldier's protecting the mages eyed the chaos warily, hoping the battle of monsters wouldn't reach them. That mess would make the job of protecting the necromancers hard indeed.

The male Naga, Israyis as Ellys apparently knew him, appeared genuinely confused for a moment. Then, he glanced down at himself and let out a small chuckle, his eyes changing color in time with his laughter. "Come now, I think it is clear that your...companion isn't speaking to you anymore. Unless his eyes were always like this?" He gestured towards his eyes, which stayed a bright purple for a few moments longer than usual. "Regardless, who I am and if your companion will be okay is irrelevant. I'm here to help you. To help you save your race from the foul act of one unnatural Naga. Tell me, do you know a Mar?"

As some fell to Malice, the other Naga knew instantly and started to edge their way backwards. Their bodies moved in ideal motions and in a rythm acquired through years of working along side each other as the less experienced Naga quickly fell, some only spared by the aid of their elders. Those who remained above ground lashed out in a bloody war while others father back, closer to the dens, had already darted below ground. Their forms vanished easily into the softer sand and through the premade tunnels deep into the Ravine.

Those above needed to buy time. They lashed out their tails, creating wide arc and anything catch in their path was broke, scattered or sent flying. Several Malice Naga, their bodies filled with broken spears, sand and more moved through the remains of the inanimated army. Most fell shortly after with their skulls crashed in or their hearts smashed within their chests. Their bodies fell limp. The few which had managed to make it to the soldiers, by some miracle of another, wrecked hellish carnage. Fangs dug into throats then ripped them, dying the sands with red. Coils broke bone and sized flesh to cave within itself, the victim's eyes deadened stared sightlessly back.

Only three had made it there, but that was enough to cut down several soldiers until they were finally brought down with a weapon though their heads. Those hit in the heart took long before they collapsed into a heap.

Still unaware of the fight occuring, Ellys's lips frowned at the bewilderment on her companion's face which was very unlike him or any Naga. Then drew a darken look from her when he began to laugh and spoke strange things, namely that he wasn't Israyis and pointed to the proof within his eyes. Ellys felt the heat return to her skin at sighting magic again, her mind almost spat at the name, Mar, being spoken. That foul, unworthy biped bitch wasn't fit to slither among the Naga let alone to live. Many had agreed that the Arch Matriarch's punish was far too light and pure wrong. Yet, at the spiky biped's plead, Armayllis had allowed the disgrace to leave in banishment. However, she was now curious at what the thing which pocessed the male before had to say.

"Yes...the banished digrace and bane of our race, yes I know Marya. Though what a creature like you, who uses other bodies and doesn't show his true form, would want to know that is pointless." Ellys practically spat the words, her expression quite the opposite. It was ice cold and unfazed. "Her living is a foul act in itself. Once she dies all will be righted and until then, there's little she can do in banishment."

Only three Nagas had made it to the protective ring of soldier's but they were enough. These men had never fought Naga before, and they made the mistake of killing the Naga they way they were trained. Ignoring the head and going for the center of mass. For the first two, they were lucky. The two wrought terrible damage amongst the protectors, crushing bones and lashing out with blinding speed to strike in the gaps in their armor. But they never reached the mages. They died before they could. The third one, however, the third one wasn't stabbed through the heart or the head. The third one was stabbed through the chest and then went into Malice stage. The Naga cut it's way through the protective ring and maaged to strike down three mages before a spear erupted out of it's skull.

Swaths of Golems and corpses suddenly fell down, fell apart, and in general stopped moving. THe corpses were truly dead and the Golems were no more. Those that were still powered by mages, however, continued attacking.

"True. She is an abomination." The thing possessing Israyis agreed. "And she does deserve to die. And she will. But, her bloodline will continue on." He smiled at Ellys. "That's what I've come to tell you. She's had a child. A girl, half human and half Naga. Of course, killing the child will be nearly impossible, given that it's protected by a mage college and whatever the mages can bring to bear. Unless, of course, someone can get close to her and the child. Someone protected by a power greater than the Mage college. Whomever killed her and her monstrosity would be hailed a hero, I imagine. Guaranteed power and authority." He glanced at Ellys. "You wouldn't happen to know anyone willing to do such a thing, would you? I have an offer to make them.

The Naga pull back slowly, their hope increased by the crumbling sand, corpses, and stone. Yet some still remained. As many Naga hastily pulled back, those who hadn't entered their dens were busy, their arms strung thin ropes upon them and waited while their heads moved with each Naga edged closer. Finally the last one had seemed to cross an invisible line before the first Naga, followed by others, jerked on the ropes with all their might.

The sand under the last of the army's feet gave way. Sand hissed and fell into a deeply dug trench several miles deep. Their bodies, strong and frail, crashed against sharpened spikes to the earth below. Any not killed were broken by the fall and trapped within the desert's depths.

Ellys listened to the stranger, her eyes widened with a mix and horror at what this being was suggesting. That Mar dared to farther her crime by bearing offspring? To farther insult, it was a girl which meant it took after its foul mother. The hairs on her neck back became erect at the notion followed by a loud hiss, the sound crackled within the air. Her knuckles were whitened against her spear now propped upright and rested beside her. It wasn't the glory she would've sought, but the assurance the digusting creature won't live long, its corpse piled over its dead mother shortly.

"How dare she farther pollute our blood, even after she was banished. That...abomination has no right to live any long then it has to. Nor does the flith that bore it." Ellys snarled as she pushed away the shiver sent up her spine when the creature used Israyis's lips to smile. "Where is this Twilight College at?"

Those Necromancer Mages who still had blood left in them picked up the fallen weapons of those who had died wielding them and gave them life. Afterall, how would one go about stopping a weapon with no wielder? Those that could not give life to weapons drew their own. They were inexperienced compared to the soldiers, but luck could kill an enemy just as easily as skill.

The useage of the Golems and corpses failed. New orders were given. Now..Use the desert against them.

Geomancers, by far the most prevalent in this small army, stepped forward and gestured. The desert rose amongst the Naga on the surface and began burrowing down towards those in the rock shelters, trying to smother them, and turn their Malice stage against each other. Mesa Gaan would fall. There is no other choice.

The thing possessing Ellys' companion drew his dagger. It flashed a bright red, before returning to it's normal white. "Follow wherever the dagger points. When you get to the College, I'll protect you from hostile eyes. Then all you have to do is stab Mar with this dagger and then take the child and kill it. I'll do the rest." He extended the hilt towards her.

The hellish scene turned into a blood bath quickly. The Naga were dealing with not just dealing with combat but also magic, the later they were seriously out matched in. Weapons sprang to life then hacked and slashed at them. Their swings sloppy and weak, yet there wasn't anyone behind them to counter with. Just air, a few already worn Naga had fallen into Malice stage while their numbers dwindled bit by bit.

Soon those who bodies didn't liter the scene retreated into the tunnels just when the earth hurtle after them.
Underground, those few that had reached the depths before the eath turned on them were busy. Each time, they were slowly joined by others. Three were alone and a few feet in, two males and one female stood there as if waiting something. One of the males had sliced his up the length of his arm and stood the deepest within the Ravine entrance. They knew how dangerous this was and nothing about what attention their actions would've gained. A low rumbling had started towards them. The other two fell back, their eyes watched the other one bravely stand there when a monster emerged from the darkness. It's head swayed then stopped onto the bleeding Naga, it's heat sensors pulsed and picked up the warmer then rock blood. It let out a deafening scream which echoed off the ceiling and throughout the Ravine.

Suddenly many yellowed eyed devils were staring upon the unsettled Naga. In his posture and his eyes, he knew his actions were meant to be a death wish. One that was meant to ensure their survival as hundreds of the beast set their fangs upon the helpless victim. Rendering him to pieces. This time the female nodded then motioned for several others, ten to be exact, for stage two. Their blades sliced their hands instantly catching the beasts attention then raced through the deadly maze of earth and sand, desperate to reach the surface.

Meanwhile, the Matriarch, the only one not killed within the sleeping chambers had been led to the Ravine entrance by a young male. His features were strong and familiar to most because he was Mar's older brother, Lyamis. "Quickly, before the Ridge Hounds turn back and find us here."

They had been lucky. Only a small pack dared to dwell near their nests and now would flood the surface while they traveled through the Ravine. They only hoped enough of them would survive extinction.

Ellys's hand reached for once again normal looking dagger. Her fingers held it as if she was going to be bitten, her eyes flickered back to the stranger looking through her companion's eyes. She didn't like the way they shimmered or shifted, the essence seemed so chaotic that she fought back a warning hiss. Something, instinct or his demo of power, had told her it wasn't wise to upset him unneeded. To test out his words she held the dagger against the flat of her palm then let it spin around and around. It stopped then pointed into one direction as if drawn to it.

"How do I know I can trust you..." Ellys began. "I would have better luck killing the mother and it right there instead of wasting time retreating."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The earth followed, suffocating and killing any Naga's it could catch. Some of the Geomancers collapsed as they used up all of their blood, but still those surviving pushed on. The voice encouraged them. Kill them. Kill them! Drive them into the Ravine, paint their safe haven red with their own blood, make them kill each other. None must escape, Narok has commanded it! I will not be denied. Any who fail will know pain and death beyond mortal comprehension. And so on, so forth. The soldier's themselves didn't move, the only way they knew they were actually attacking and winning was through the voice.

The thing possessing Israyis nodded. "You could have luck. You could get past the guards, the Golems, the mages, the defenses, the traps, and whatever else the mage college could come up with. You could reach her and her child, getting past the father. And then you could kill them both. All of this could happen. But how would you escape? The deaths of a student and her child would enrage the entire College. All of them mages. There are several teachers who could do things to do you that would make death look appealing." His eyes flashed a black and then a grey, alternating for a few moments before the chaos returned.

"And even if you manage to escape, they could save her. Magic is a powerful thing. It can save those once thought dead, especially that of healing. I, however, am stronger than whatever magic they can produce. I can ensure the both of them are dead. Mar first, as the dagger must be left in her to ensure her death. The child will be dealt with outside of the College's level of influence, which I will guide you to. Of course...if you doubt my abilities, a demonstration is in order."

Israyis suddenly faded away, leaving nothing but a fallen spear. Moments passed in silence, and then his voice whispered near Ellys. "Heads up." There was a sudden stinging pain in her right arm, as if she had been whipped by a tail. A few more moments passed. "Over here." Another stinging blow, this time on her back. It continued like this for a few moments before Israyis spoke again "I thought Naga's were renowned for their senses. Why can't you stop me then? Could it be that I'm not lying?" He reappeared in front of her, prudently out of spear reach. "Why can you trust me? Because I desire their deaths as much as you do. They are abominations and must be destroyed. I, however, cannot do it myself. You can."

Same Naga, only about 3, made it topside but that was all the Ridge Hounds needed. As soon as the three popped from the sands there was about twenty hounds on their tail after navigating through the boody trapped tunnels in hot pursuit of the blood scent. Their screaming howls echoed with their arrival as more flooded the surface like a blacken sea. They set upon their orignal targets, the creatures closest, and swarmed like locus over their bodies. Arms were severed, their screams died while the Malice kicked in from they teeth buried deeply into the flesh.

Then they rose and flooded the soldiers. They might've been easy to kill, but what they psyhically lacked was made up for by sheer numbers. More and more rushed through the opennings and even made new ones while the mages tried to seal them in, easily crushing fifty or more with each attempt. It only slightly stopped the assault to a bare notice.

Meanwhile the Naga vanished deeper into the Ravine to the far stretches, scattering their numbers. Some managed to head in the College's direction and out those many, only nine would venture to an Ravine entrance at some point.

Ellys listened but didn't believe, until the demostration. That's when she suffered for her mistake. She screamed with each hit as the creature proved its strength by lashing out over and over, her eyes glowed with red. However to attack or kill it, she would risk Israyis's life and to kill a Naga was forbidden. When it finished, she was hunched over with slight wounds oozing red from many scores. They stung and twinged while she looked up at the creature with distaste.

"You've made your point." Her tone filled with bane. "All I care is that Mar and her filth dies, if you can make that happen so be it."

With that thought and dagger in hand, Ellys left.

The soldiers never stood a chance. They were too few in number to do anything more than kill one before being swamped in a screaming mass of blood, metal and tearing claws. Soon, they were all swept away under the sea of Ridge Hounds. In a way, the mage's were the lucky ones. They could overuse their blood and make themselves comatose before being torn apart by the monstrosities. The soldiers weren't so lucky. They were torn apart, feeling their master leave them to their fates, knowing despair before pain became all that they knew. None survived.

In the throne room, still bloody from his coup, Fredrick smiled. Everything was going according to plan.

The thing possessing Israyis nodded. "I believe that is all you care about." He said, before picking up his spear and shoving it through the Naga's skull. The strange lights left, and the body collapsed.

The entity known as Chessmaster steepled their fingers in satisfaction, watching their newest pawn head towards the College. "And you will do much for us, little pawn. Much more than you can ever imagine. Of course, you'll never really get to see how useful you'll be. Such a shame, really. Self-righteous and hateful pawns are so much easier to control." They shrugged. "Still. You'll serve your purpose. Events have been set in motion that not even the Gods can stop now..."

Unexpected Visit in the Medical Wing

It had taken some coaxing but in the end, Sam and Althalus’s efforts were a success. They had finally gotten Mar to settle into the recently cleared herb storages and isolated from the rest of the ward. It was just right to the entrance as the open space had a white cloth to prevent a visual to spy, the staff slightly mixed in emotions of awe and edginess. Once they had completely moved Mar, Sam dismissed the large Golems to notify Uicle that the small family had arrived with little trouble. Wordless they left instantly and seemed relieved to be rid of their tasked burden. The elderly man simply chuckled at the thought while he turned his crowfeet eyes upon the human father to impart a little advice.

“Might want to get little Lyn cleaned up young father. Namely since you’ll likely have some visitors- he was interrupted and abruptly stopped when he eyed Mar’s form tense then added. “One at a time naturally and widely spaced visit, I assure you. I won’t allow the mother or baby to be overcrowded, so be calm.”

When Mar eased back into the sheets, Sam continued. “I’ll have some volunteers and a few Golems bring in a bath for you when you’re ready.”

He smiled, then turned and returned to his own need to wash.

Althalus blinked in surprise at Sam, looking up from Lyn and Mar. He had honestly forgotten that the old healer was there. He shook his head, almost wonderingly. "Yeah. We'll call when ready." It was still a bit of a shock that he was a father, even if he had had six months of continuous arguing to prepare himself. As soon as Sam left, Althalus simply returned to staring at Lyn.

After some time, there was a racket outside. It didn’t take long for the sound to catch a healer’s attention. A young woman and one of Lucilia’s last year graduates, Violet Myers, cautiously moved towards the doorway. Her small, petite figure reached for the handle just when it clicked open itself. The hand leapt backwards when the large Naga was now standing there. She moved to the side when he slithered through, her face filled with confusion and surprised at his condition. Slowly her form shrank backwards while she allowed him through. When Sam noticed Xyden arrival within the infirmary, his eyes flickered upright and was instantly concern. There were signs of battle upon the Naga’s hide and armor, even one of his fins had been torn, as the elderly man raised his hands from the water. The water dripped from them, no longer red and covered in fluids, and Sam immediately pushed forward. His boot clipped the floor, unaware of the few other healers who also peeked up from their charges to glimpse Xyden.

He closed the distance quickly. “What has happened?”

Violet’s narrowed her eyes upon the Naga’s head, suspicion raced through her body as she moved out the door. It was there, only a short distance she found the passed out body of Alaira. She took a knee and started to examine the half elf, her voice tossed back to Sam. “Sam! It’s Alaira, she’s injured and needs medical attention quickly!”

Several of the healers, not tending to seriously wounded patients, hauled their bodies to mass towards the Half Elf. Sam however remained where he was. His eyes had started to note the wounds carefully and his face started to pale, realization flickered upon his face. His frail body stepped to block Xyden in his path towards Mar and Lyn, the man’s voice once more repeated his question in accusation. “What has happened, Xyden?”
Xyden looked down at the elderly Land-Strider standing before him. For a moment it amused him that this man was probably only half his own age and yet already clearly crippled by it, but the moment passed quickly as the urgency of his task pushed back into his mind. Xyden knew that this man was the leader of the healers, and if any were in a position to restore his previous foe to some semblance of an ability to walk, it would be him. So why was he standing in front of him instead of helping Alaira? "Alaira... requires your attention... Land-Strider..." He said with a hint of genuine care in his voice.
"I know that, but what has happened?" Sam persisted, his expression softened. He could sense the slight worry and concern in the voice, yet she wasn't his only charge. Again, Violet shouted for aid. Sam fought with his screaming instincts his eyes deepened inner struggle. In a softer voice, he then asked. "What have you done?"
Althalus was ripped from his reverie by the familiar sound of muted violence. One didn't grow up in Port Slaughter, if you weren't a noble, that is, without hearing it nightly. The walls of his room as a child had been thick, but not thick enough to shield him from the truth of what was going outside of his home. Why would there be fighting outside a medical ward? He wondered, his hands slipping to the two knives he had brought with him. Perhaps he was just being overly paranoid, and it was an unruly patient. But old habits died hard, and he preferred that Mar and Lyn were safe and he looked insane, rather than he assume the best and have the worst happen. He was just walking towards the makeshift door when he heard a female voice calling for help for Alaira. A few more steps and Sam's voice could be heard, demanding an answer of someone named Xyden. Althalus' mind searched back for a face to put to the name.

It soon clicked. The other Naga. The one Mar had nearly gotten into a fight with, his first day of being here. "Now, what do you want?" He muttered. Carefully, he edged aside the white cloth just enough to see what was going on. And then immediately dropped it. Xyden was in what appeared to be full battle gear, showing signs of a recent scuffle, and was being blocked entrance to the storage area by Sam. None of those were good signs. None of them at all. With the quiet rasp of leather sliding on steel, Althalus drew his two knives. Softly, he called to Mar. "If you can find somewhere to put Lyn where a Naga wouldn't be able to find her, I'd suggest you do it now. Things look like they might get nasty." The only benefit, he supposed, was the fact that the trident would be largely useless in the confined area. Or at least, not as effective. Not that Xyden needed it to be effective when all Althalus had was two knives against his armor. Althalus stepped to the side of the entrance, waiting.

"I hate fair fights."
Xyden stared down at the defiant human. It was folly to oppose a myrmidon, but he kept doing it. Xyden couldn't tell if it was stupidity or bravery, maybe both. "I did... what was necessary..." He said before gently but forcefully pushing him aside and slithering past. He only hoped that, by the favour of Xanaphya, no more innocents would be hurt today.
"What are you doing?" Sam asked as he was easily pushed aside, the student moved past. His eyes noticed where it lead to and a slight fear pushed into his mind. Something wasn't right. He could feel it within his bones, more and more things didn't add up with the situation. His feet started to move again and tried to once more push ahead to bar Xyden's way. "Stop, Mar's in there."
Xyden ignored the Land-Striders futile attempts to slow him and begun to pronounce the sentence against Marya as he moved closer to the room from which her smell emanated, only a thin sheet of material stopping a direct line of sight. His voice was raised that all might hear of her crimes and the justness of his actions as he spoke.

"Marya of Mesa Gaan... Tyros of Yarosmere... I, Xyden of the Depths... Centurion of the Myrmidon Order... pronounce you and your... offspring, for the crime... of interbreeding with Surface Dwellers... abominations.

In accordance with the Law... of the Depths... the punishment... for this sin against the purity.... of the Naga race... is the stripping of all rank... and position... within Naga society... followed by your immediate execution. Your death... will not be recorded... and the record of your life... will be struck from history...

Submit peacefully... to your sentence... that innocents may be spared... from your Malice."

As he finished pronouncing Marya's sentence, he drew back the cloth that covered her small room, already having drawn himself to full height and extended his fins, ready for her to resist. He hoped she wouldn't, that she would see her crime and realise what had to be done, but he didn't think it was so likely that he wouldn't prepare for her to resist. Unfortunately the proper means of execution risked Malice more than he would've liked, and so he would need to be quick.
Althalus cursed, softly, as he heard the Naga making his rather lenghty proclamation. The only thing he really understood, and cared about for that matter, was the 'immediate execution' part. That was just great. The damn fool not only was trying to kill Mar and Lyn, he believed that he was on a mission from whomever or whatever created that law. Fanatic. He hated dealing with fanatics. No sense of self preservation that would make normal, reasonable, killers have second thoughts about doing things. Like trying to kill the mother and child of an assassin who isn't within sight. As it was, he only glanced at Mar and mouthed 'keep her safe' before darting out from the side of the door way. It took him a split second to see the gap in the armor, where the Ocean Naga's armpit was, and to thrust a knife as hard as he could towards that leather protected area. The knife struck the leather, and Althalus experienced a moment of resistence, before the blade pierced it and sank up to the hilt in Xyden's arm. Althalus leapt back, leaving the knife he had used to attack with in Xyden's armpit, and kept himself and his one knife between Xyden and Mar and Lyn. His family. He wouldn't fail. Not again. A gust of wind blew by him, strange in the stillness of the storage room, but he paid it no mind.

"I'm afraid you need to check where you are. This is the surface, not the Depths. Your laws don't apply here." Fine words coming from an assasin who breaks and twists laws daily. Althalus thought, lips twisting into a brief smirk before he returned to concentrating on the situation at hand. Which involved fighting an armored, armed, and likely very angry Naga warrior. And now I remember why I never fight fair.
Xyden hissed in pain once again as his free arm suddenly had a sharp length of metal shoved up in under it. It felt like a Hellshark fang piercing his flesh, but it wouldn't stop him. He was more displeased that another Land Strider would be hurt for Marya's crimes. He reacted quickly, jabbing his trident straight towards his attacker while he swept his tail around from the other side. He was unable to use his free hand though, the pain too great and the damage crippling for the limb, at least while the blade remained lodged where it was. Through gritted fangs, he said with urgency "Stand... Aside... Land Strider."
Althalus darted backwards when the trident tried to impale him. The prongs stopped only an inch or so from his chest. Far to close for his comfort. On the one hand, that little act also helped him avoid the tail sweep Naga seemed so fond of to open their attacks with. On the other, it also caused him to retreat farther into the room. Not ideal, when all he had was a knife to go against Xyden. The one day I chose not to wear my armor.. Althalus snorted at Xyden's request. "Sure. I'll stand aside. Right after you turn around, give up your plans to murder my child and her mother, and then leave the College for good. Do that for me and I'll do as you ask." Althalus wished he had a crossbow. A crossbow could have ended this fight before it even began, with a bolt through the skull. Still, wishing, and praying for that matter, never got anyone what they wanted. He waited for the Naga's next move.
Xyden had expected the man to dodge, and was not at all phased when his attacks missed. In fact it gave him the advantage. This small room provided an easy method to force his opponent into a corner, and from there he could use his superior reach to do whatever he liked to this foe. He jabbed with his trident again, keeping half an eye on the other Naga to make sure she didn't take him by suprise while he forced the father into a corner. Without his free arm, he couldn't effectively use his chain without abandoning his trident, and so it was likely he'd have to inflict more damage on this man than he'd planned. Throwing the trident to end this quickly briefly crossed his mind, but that was too risky. What he would give for a Harpoon Canon this day...
Althalus dodged to the side this time, not wanting to back further into the room and risk brining Mar and Lyn into trident range. So now, he had to play a lovely game where he tried to not back up any further, while also trying to not get impaled upon a pointy object that the damn annoying Naga kept poking at him. "Why did we have to get a room with only one entrance and exit?" He asked, to no one in particular, wishing he had at least his throwing knives. Then it would have made things at least a little bit more fair. Though, Althalus would prefer an unfair fight where a Golem came up behind Xyden and crashed a metal fist against his skull. Not likely.
Xyden was beginning to get frustrated with this mans jumpyness. Why couldn't he just stand still and submit to judgement? He pushed forward to close the range with the biped and slashed sideways with the trident, blocking escape from that angle, while bringing his tail in to block the other side. The man wasn't armoured, and if he had to bear hug him and coil him to stop him, he would.
Althalus was trapped. He couldn't go to either side, because there was a tail and a trident in his way. Backwards was out of the option, because that would be leading Xyden to Lyn and Mar. Great. Just, great. Althalus saw that there was a gap around Xyden's neck where he could shove a knife, but not only was it out of his reach(the Naga still being much taller than Althalus), the Ocean Naga would likely be prepared for such an attempt. An attempt on any gap in his armor directly in front of him at this point. "Son of a bitch." Althalus muttered, tightening his grip on the knife. A shame it wasn't a throwing knife. He could have safely thrown it and actually had a chance to do what he was going to try without getting close to the bone crushing coils. Althalus took one step towards Xyden, hands held up as if in surrender. "Okay. I see your point." He took another, slow step forward. "You're right. The Laws of the Depths must be obeyed, no matter where they are." Another step. "So I'm just going to step aside, but I won't be in the room to watch it." Another step. He was close to Xyden now, hands still held in that same surrendering position. "How abou you-" Althalus suddenly stabbed forward and upwards with his remaining knife, trying to cripple the other arm.

Meanwhile, in another, farther away piece of the College, Uicle was yelling at the Wind Golem that had been watching Mar. "And you didn't just tell me telepathically, why!? No! Don't answer! Just...get out of here.." The Golem quickly left, and Uicle spat a curse out, before setting out at a quick run towards the medical wing, calling what Golems that weren't busily keeping the Djarkel and Eania people from killing each other to help him. His quick run was more of a slow crawl, given that the curse decided to make him fall, stumble, trip, or be similarily delayed every five seconds.
Xyden was happy that the Land Strider had finally seen reason. He'd begun to believe it was impossible for their kind to think logically and obey the law. Nonetheless, he could not risk the man interveneing. He would grant the mans wish of not witnessing the event, but not how the land strider expected it. Xydens Trident was already in motion when the primitive creatures word proved false, the blunt haft of the weapon swinging in a long arc even as another dagger was driving towards him. He rolled his body at the last second and the dagger deflected off one of the plates of his armour, leaving a slight gash and a trail of sparks. Moments later the tridents haft struck the mans skull hard, knocking him down. Xyden quickly moved the bladed edge to the mans neck, but when he didn't stir, Xyden pulled weapon away, awkwardly reaching around to wrench the dagger from the flesh under his arm. He was still out of reach for the other Naga, but he worked quickly, transfering his trident to his injured arm, pulling the chain from its place and hooking the flesh hook behind Althalus' arm. He then wrapped it around the mans limbs crudely, not having nearly enough time to properly chain him, but doing enough to avoid a quick escape.

From there, Xyden took his weapon in both hands and looked directly at Marya. He slithered closer, aiming his Trident at her stomach, aware of his injury and the blood he was losing, it filled the air with its stench, but he had suffered like this before and survived. He just had to remain conscious long enough to complete his task.
Mar wasn't use to the conflict which raged within her. To protect her daughter or her mate, her mind barely registered her name for Athalus while he fought off the larger mutant Naga. Her neck hairs rose with the instinct to attack and her fingers dug into the sheets, her body tethered to Lyn's side. Her mind was torn even as the baby screamed when Althalus went down. A numbness etched into her head, her emotions seemed to smother her and she froze in place. No weapon or way to defend her daughter, mate or even herself had Mar hissing under her breath uncontrollably.

"Naga don't kill each other." Mar spat her words, venom gathered in her fangs that sprouted out. The Naga came close then she reacted.

Her venom shot from her mouth into twin, thin streams right for Xyden's eyes. They would blind him and sting, hopefully distrub his aim for her rush him. Her hand reached to take hold of his weapon and push it to her side where her tail would've wrapped about the handle. Meanwhile her free one reached for his throat. She aimed to collapse it with her magic and hopefully end this battle quickly.

If not...die trying and take him with her...
Before Xyden knew what was happening, Marya was upon him.he was blinded and his breath was short from her attacks, but doing so much at once meant her grip on his weapon was weak, and his remained firm. The weapon was punched to the side a little, but not enough. Before feeling any fangs in his throat, he heard the wet sound of an unarmoured body sliding onto the blades of his trident. The central and right blades by the feel of it, and the sudden weight brought them both crashing to the floor. He struggled to wrench the blade free even as he fell, but was unable to before he hit the ground hard, his injuries sending a new searing spike of pain through his body. Through rapidly blinking and blurry eyes, he saw a rapidly expanding pool of blood under both of them, and that his weapon was embedded to the cross that held the blades within his target. Finally, his task was nearly done.

He pushed himself slowly up again, avoiding the writhing form of Marya, and with the help of his tail, wrenched the weapon from her body, setting his eyes, finally, on the screaming child. He could only tell her location through sound, the blood overpowering his smell and his sight still far too blurry. Once he had oriented his head towards her though, he could see, only barely, the proof of his righteousness.

The child had no tail, but legs.
A low threatening hiss erupted from behind Xyden before his whole body was set in pain. A figure, a similar form to Mar had pulled back the makeshift cover. Her eyes were redden and seemed to set in fury. Her fangs were out as her fingers dug into the stone frame. Each word dripped with loathing at the sight which greeted the new Naga that arrived: Kyiir. "You will never touch my great grand child!"

Her body trembled with a rage as she stood there, part of her seemed ready to slaughter the stupid male on sight. She applied more pressure to his already racked body. Bones started to crack innerly and press towards his heart, intent on killing him there.

"Kyiir! Stop it, you're kiling him!" A female voice, stern and fearful. A brightly colored Naga, one with outright fins and armor had slithered behind her sister's fury. Her hand gently rested upon Kyiir's shoulder who abruptly jerked it away. Again, Xanaphya's hand tried to reach her sibling.

"Please...Tend to your daughters and their allies. I will deal with my great grand son." Xanaphya said as she caught Kyiir's eye. The land Naga's expression fade and her fingers snapped, releasing the male Naga from his pain. Kyiir then swiveled on her tail towards the biped outside in the hall now empty because the healers had long fled for aid.

Xanaphya's head jerked for Dyesa to get the infant, the winged Naga tucked in her several plain white appendages as she brought herself to Lyn. The babe still wailed in fear and demand for her mother, slightly softened the Naga's heart at the sight. Slowly she picked up Lyn and examined her. That's when her eyes noticed the mother bleeding out on the floor not far, Mar's figured stilled tried to push herself upright only to slip on her own blood with each new gush.

"Xanaphya... the mother. She's dying." Dyesa spoke, her eyes turned back to Lyn then realize how terrible the situation was.

"Stop her bleeding then get Kyiir's attention." The middle sister nodded her head and did as she was told.

Xanaphya's form leaned over the likely crumbled Xyden and spoke. "Why have you done this?"
Xyden lay on the bloddied ground, in far too much agony to stand again. Some distant part of him knew what was going on, that above him stood the ancient goddesses of legend. They had stopped him. But why? Was it not their Law that he was following? Xyden was confused, but then he heard the voice of Xanaphya, asking him why he acted as he did. He was in too much pain to try and form the difficult words of the bipeds tongue in his mouth, but he would not insult the Godess by speaking it to her anyway. He switched to the subtle sign language that many of his kind used for quick communication while underwater.

"It had to be done. Marya is a pervesion of the Naga races purity. Her offspring has legs! How can she not be?" He signed, before adding a few more quick movements Is it not the Law of the depths?"
Xanaphya's heart ached at seeing Xyden suffer, her eyes shed a little tear and shook her head. Her fins flexed while her tail shifted and her hands moved to form perfect words. Though with each gesture, her sorrow was made very clear.

"It shouldn't be. Lyn, the offspring, has to earn her tail. She's not lucky to have it because hers has to be earn through pain and suffering, only then can she become a Naga who will make Land Striders understand our ways. And bring all our kindred together. That is why we didn't allow her to be born with one."

Her hand reached out for his cheek, her eyes seemed to be filled with pain and hurt at what he had tried to do. Again her hands moved. "Marya is among the most powerful of Kyiir's lineage yet she was banished for having a gift we bestowed upon her by her own people. Something we never wanted. Her people have forgotten us because they don't want to remember the pain of their past. Mar has a harsh destiny ahead as well, but you tried to stop that. By doing so, you now must face the results from the Land Strider's rules you willing broke my precious son."
Xyden looked up at the magnificent form of his Goddess, his sight still blurred from Marya's venom, but nonetheless able to see her brilliance. He understood what she said. Just as it was his duty to obey the Matriarchs, it was his obligation to obey his Goddess. Whatever she asked for. Even if it meant submitting to the judgement of the Land Striders. He signed back shortly and simply "I understand."
Xanaphya nodded at his submit to her authority. Her hands gently pressed his against hers, her tears streamed down and soothed his eyes. Cleared them away while Kyiir had finished healing the Land Strider outside, her eyes glared and quickly moved to Mar. The Naga had stilled during the pair's coversation and now seemed to head closer to Malice state. It wasn't pretty. Her body twitched and seemed to sieze, her mind and soul fought off the need to leave with her will. Her skin had paled to a very dangerous point.

Kyiir's hand pressed to Mar's head and focused. Her magic spread through out the wounded Naga's body, the flesh mended and sealed itself until only another scar remained. She turned ot the shaken Mar then whispered thoughtfully. "Best you never remember this, my child."

With that, Kyiir kissed Mar upon the forehead causing her to pass out. Her body went slack within Kyiir's grip and was set down softly onto the mattresses. The Goddess turned to the man in the corner. His body shackled crudely by Xyden's net and sighed. She then moved to unbind him, careful not to rip the flesh from his shoulder or damage him anymore then he was. Looking over, instead of healing him completely she only focus upon the serious ones which were few.

Her eyes then glared at the very cause of this mess. "I suppose you would like I heal him as well?"

Xanaphya could sense the huff in which Kyiir rightly spoke, but still pressed her advantage as the eldest. "Yes, please."

"Fine. He better never harm them again."

Kyiir reached over, her hand touched Xyden's head then pour the bare minial within his form. The damage caused slowly mended itself until he was no longer in danger of dying. Her hand instantly recoiled back and her body turned to the small infant Desya had been holding the whole time. Now Lyn was once more cooing as her little legs wiggled and kicked much to the Goddesses' delight. Easily, Kyiir slipped Lyn from her sister's grasp and laid her in the rightful place beside her mother.

"Sister...we need to leave. The bipeds are fast approaching." Kyiir spoke as she started to withdraw from her gargoyle.

Desya also followed suit, the pair watched her eldest give Xyden one last look at Xyden before she too faded. Her last words would be imprinted upon his memory for a long time. "I hope one day...you will be able to earn my forgiveness."
Xyden felt himself being healed by one of the Goddesses, and wondered if he was worthy of such a thing. But it was not his place to question the wisdom or actions of the Goddesses. He pushed himself up from the bloody mess of the floor and retrieved his weapon, still slick with Marya's lifeblood. He left Althalus in the chains. The Goddesses were leaving, and taking the memory of the occasion with them. That meant the others might still be aggressive, especially seeing all the blood. He did not try to escape the scene. Xanaphya herself had commanded him to submit to the judgement of the Land Striders, and that was precisely what he would do. He leant on his trident, a great weariness overcoming him as he waited for the authorities to arrive.
Uicle arrived on the scene soon after, the curse growing weaker and weaker as he approached where the Wind Golem had left Mar, Althalus, their child, and Xyden. Sam was with him, somehow Gregor had found his way from gnawing on bits of scrap metal to join them, and after he dispatched one Golem to carry the unconcsious Alaira into the infirmary, the two of them(and Uicle's remaining Steel Golem), entered the room where the Ocean Naga waited. Or at least, Uicle, Gregor, and Sam did. The steel Golem waited outside the door, being too large to fit inside of the room. Uicle looked like he had gone through a battlefield. His armor was dented, scratched, rent open, pierced, and covered in all manner of unknowable filth. He wasn't sure he wanted to know either. Regardless, as he surveyed the unconcsious forms of two students, the blood everywhere(especially on the trident Xyden wielded), and the child in the center of all of it, he felt a cold rage grow. Some small part of him had hoped that the Wind Golem had been wrong. An overreaction. Obviously, that hope was an exercise in futility.

Uicle has never claimed to be a good person, and never will. If it wasn't for Aarem's constant intervention, he would have killed himself long before now. He hated everything that was evil and caused suffering, himself most of all. But, he held a special hate for child murderers. Perhaps it had to do with the countless children whose lives he ruined, or the fact that Aarem killed Uicle's younger siblings as part of his 'trials'. Regardless, the hate was there, and Xyden just got it's attention. Xyden would find his eniter body immobilized

"I would ask why and demand that you come peacefully, but I think I'll skip that whole part and go right into the, quick punishment part of things." Uicle's voice was soft, and laced with menace. And something else...anticipation. Slowly, he forced Xyden's arm upwards. "You know...most people don't realize what Hydromancy can do. They assume it involves only external liquids. What I've discovered, is that it also manipulates internal liquids as well. Saliva, for example. Or, as in this case, blood. And I can move that blood, and thus your body parts, any...way...I want." In time with the last few words, Uicle bent a finger of Xyden's farther and farther backwards. It was remarkably easy for him to slip back into the old persona. The servant of Aarem who enjoyed causing pain. It just took the right button being pressed. The right anger being released.
"Uicle...you're crossing a line and Khan wouldn't approve of this." Sam warned him, his hand reached for his pocket.
The Necromancer ignored Sam. "Lets see...assualting a student. Admittedly Alaira probably instigated it, but I think she was right in this specific set of circumstances. That will be a finger broken, I believe." There was a perverse joy growing in Uicle's tone. And then, without warning, he bent the finger he held with his Hydromancy backwards until it snapped. "Now...what else...oh yes. Attempted murder of two students. That's both arms..." Uicle began to lift Xyden's arms backwards. Suddenly, Xyden's arms fell to his sides. Uicle's magic had failed. "What?"
"I told you, Khan will not approve." Sam sounded, his once jolly tone gone. In it's place was disappointment and sorrow, his hand pulled from his pocket to show what had stopped Uicle's punishment. A old stone rune with a symbol carved in it. It negated all magic from the master level to the novice for emergency cases like this. Val had made it on the Archmage's request as if the man knew this would one day happened. How could he was a mystery even to Sam but not one he would ponder for long. "You and I will be escorting him now. Then he'll be locked up until Khan can properly deal with his crime. He'll be banished from the school and that's it...No more."
Uicle whirled on Sam, gripping his staff tightly. That was the only exterior display of his irritation at his game being stopped. "I don't think you quite realize your situation here." He replied, in that soft voice. "I believe another le-" Before he could continue with what he was going to say, Uicle was interruppted by a metallic 'woof' and a hefty metal shoulder banging into his upper thigh, and knocking him off balance. "What the..Gregor?" The dog Golem barked again, more insistently this time. "What do you want? Can't you see that I'm bu-" Befor he could continue the dog opened it's mouth once more, and a distinctly feminine voice echoed from it, as if recorded. "You promised Uicle. You said you wouldn't. Not again." Uicle took a small step back, and then shivered. "I...I think I need to sit down somewhere quiet for a while. Sam, you'll have to escort Xyden by yourself, with the Golems. I..obviously can't be trusted around him." With that, Uicle walked out of the medical wing with Gregor on his heels, heading away from the crowds and Xyden. Almost as soon as he left the medical wing, a loose bit of stone fell on him. "Can't you get a new favorite? I refuse to believe the college has that much loose stones." Uicle muttered.

Following soon after, Sam escorted Xyden out of the medical wing with a trio of steel golems. Two more would join them along the way.

Jim the Manbear

Jim had been playing with his new best friend. They were playing Knights, and it sure was fun. His friend wasn't very good, and had fallen asleep, so Jim was letting him catch his breath.

Oh, what good times they'd have together. Oh, what splend-OW. Something very hard had just hit him in the face. In fact, it hit the formidable manbear so hard that it sent him rolling. He returned to his four-legged stance after three rolls, looking about for what exactly it was that had hit him.

Well, there was his friend, still asleep. There was some grass; well, actually, there was quite a bit of grass. And...oh! There was a girl standing in front of him. She looked slightly worried and very angry. Jim decided the best thing to do would be to kindly welcome her.

"HELLO, GIRL," called the manbear.

Unbeknownst to Jim, however, all the girl heard was a very intimidating growl. Thus, it was much to his surprise when she shouted at him angrily. Sensing that this wasn't play any longer, Jim suddenly remembered that his dad would be really mad if he didn't get back in time. He turned tail and ran into the woods, glad to leave behind whatever was about to happen there.

His only regret was not being able to finish playing with his friend.

To her surprise, her sneak attack did little to harm the bear. He didn't seen seem all that hurt, though she did at least sent him back a few feet. Regardless of the damage, the bear turn and ran back to the forest. Meirin went over to the fallen body, but she didn't recognize him. Didn't matter though, he was bleeding heavily and needed immediate attention. She did a rudimentary patch job by tearing off some cloth from her clothes and bandaged up some of the stranger's wounds, before picking him up effortlessly and running towards the infirmary. Along the way, Meirin was met with yet another surprise; another wounded student. She saw one fairly muscular girl looking at the body in shock. If Meirin had to guess, the other girl was also injured in some way. "Gods, everyone is getting hurt... You there! Let me help you carry her back to the infirmary!"

Alaira Taenn

Alaira hadn't dreamed, her pained slumber was essentially a long, dark prolonged suffering. However, she was dimly aware that the pain had stopped. Of course, being unconscious she wouldn't remember that. Still, Her rest was easier.

Some time later, her eyes shot open and she awoke with a start. wait, Lyn was in danger! "Mar! Someone's come to kill..." She began to shout, but her voice trailed off when she saw Lyn, safe as ever, lying next to her mother. "Lyn..." At that point, Alaira inspected her surroundings. She was in one of the infirmary's cots, unarmored. But she didn't seem to be wounded at all. "W-was it a dream?" she almost whispered to herself. She then saw her armor lying in the corner, covered in blood. Most of it her own. "But then... what happened?" She said. Had they managed to stop him? But she was fine... oh gods, how long had it been?! She had finally seen Athalus in the corner, and decided that if anyone knew what the hell was going on, he might. "Hey, Daisy!" She called. when she had seemed to have gotten his attention, she asked "What the flying fuck happened?!"

Annabeth Gulch

Annabeth was walking back towards her dormitory when she saw Cynn. Though the two didn't talk to each other much, it wasn't out of any disinterest or malice. Annabeth and Cynn simply never had very compatible schedules, and met each other rarely. At first Annabeth was going to greet her, but that greeting was cut short when Cynn fell to the ground. Annabeth rushed over and saw the cut on her neck. It was deep enough to draw blood, but the fact that she managed to get this far without dying meant that Cynn could be saved. The Infirmary wasn't too far away either, so Annabeth bandaged Cynn's injury with a cloth before someone else arrived. Two strangers as far as Annabeth knew, but one of them was carrying another injured student. "What is going on today?!" The red-haired stranger asked if she needed help carrying Cynn, though Annabeth shook her head. She managed to pick up Cynn very carefully as to not worsen her cut and jerked her head towards the Infirmary. "We have to hurry, follow me!"

The group ran towards the Infirmary as fast as they could, running past a group of metal golems that nearly took up the entire hallway. Annabeth didn't get a chance to figure out what they were there for before she burst into the Infirmary. "Samuel, Lidda, anyone! We need help! Two students are injured, Cynn has her neck cut open, and the other one is bleeding profusely." But when she arrived, she didn't see anyone. Annabeth was worried that they wold lose these two, but than someone stepped out of the corner of the room.

Lucilia Riovas

"My my my..." Lucilia had wondered what was taking Meirin so long. After stabilizing Grey, she decided to head towards the infirmary herself. What she chanced upon, however, was Xyden being escorted by a group of golems and Sam after attempting to kill Mar and her child. She only arrived after Uicle left, but she was able to get most of the information of what happened through one of the ficus plants. There were many more questions than there was answers, which she was going to need form both Mar and Xyden. Lucilia was beginning to regret allowing Mar to stay all those months ago, but now was not her place to call judgement on it. It was a very stressful day, and it was only going to get worse.

Shortly after getting her needles, a group of students barged in with more injured students. Lucilia wondered if this was the handy work of Xyden as well, but she would have to push those questions aside. Walking around the corner Lucilia quickly took charge. "Put them on the beds, I'll get to work with them. You two, wash up, you're going to help me with these operations." Than Alaria came in and started yelling, demanding to know what had happened. This was getting tiresome. Trying not to yell but making it very clear that she was getting angry, Lucilia turned towards Alaria and Athalus. "Keep it down. Either assist me in treating these two or leave and allow time to rest. We do not need any more disturbances right now." Once the two bodies were placed on the beds, Lucilia blocked out anything else and began operating.

Locas Jule
Locas was the first to awake. Of course, he couldn't have known this, as there was a curtain separating him from the rest of the infirmary. However, that didn't make it less true that he had, indeed, woken up before Cynn.

He was on the side of the room that had the exit, and Locas assumed that this denoted a marked increase in moving space. This assumption was partially confirmed when a glimpse of movement revealed the presence of an elf woman a several feet across the room. She was tall and muscular, with three scars on her cheek and hair that flowed quite a ways down her back. For someone such as Jule, who'd just awoken from a blackout that he was sure would have ended in death, she was more than a welcome sight.

For some unknown reason, he felt the need to express this observation to the girl herself.

"Did I die," asked the human student. The girl looked at him and Locas smiled. "I must have, because I'm looking at the closest thing to an angel that I've ever seen."

He knew what would happen next. He saw the anger show in her face, and saw the consequential attempt to hide just how much anger was actually there. The girl stood up and began walking toward him, and Locas propped himself up in the infirmary bed. As he turned back to her, he was greeted with a fist rapidly approaching his face, which he immediately deflected with the aid of his Blood. This action was accompanied by a sharp pain, which reminded him of his injuries. Still, he refused to wince, as doing so would simply result in this girl looking at him as a waste of time and knocking him right back out.

The punch landed in the pillow next to Locas's head, and the elf was pulled off her feet by the force of her own fist. She fell onto Locas, who caught her gently. As they locked eyes, he couldn't help but noticed that the eyes looked incredibly familiar. He had a sudden image of a girl in armor, sparring with him on a hill, followed by an image of the same girl, dead in a tent.

"You have beautiful eyes," he said, softly. The elf blushed for a moment before slapping him, inadvertently snapping him back to reality. He smiled kindly and prepared himself for whatever would come next as the elf stood up.

Cynn Ellime

The infirmary was almost empty by the time Cynn awoke. She opened her eyes slowly, finding it strenuous to do so. In front of her sat a tall, elegant looking girl with dark hair and worried eyes. It took her a moment to realize that this was her roommate, Annabeth. A smile spread across Cynn's face.

"Hey," she whispered, not out of grogginess but out of a physical inability to speak any louder. "What happened?"

The human girl explained that she'd been cut in the throat, and the memories came rushing back to her. She reached up and touched her neck instinctively, finding a cloth bandage and a small amount of pain. She winced, but quickly regained her smile, noticing that the expression on Annabeth's face changed to match that which was on hers. This girl who barely knew her went so far out of her way to make sure she was alright? It was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for the wood elf, and she couldn't stop smiling.

Of course, it was also a good thing that the girl was very physically attractive.

Feeling that she should say something more, Cynn reached out and placed a hand on Annabeth's. The human blushed slightly, and Cynn let out a small chuckle.

"You're..." she began, thinking hard about what she should say. "You're like...my knight. Thanks...for saving me and all...a-and for staying to make sure I was alright." She gave the human the warmest smile she had. "It means a lot to me." She squeezed Annabeth's hand before moving her own hand back to her side.

Zaad and Aramir

Aramir was wandering the school halls, having nothing better to do and wanting to stay away from Auriel. even if there was the risk that the silence might get to her, it was better than trying to keep her traitorous, corrupted, evil emotions in check. She shouldn't have feelings for another female. It was wrong. Wrong on so many more levels than just the practical. The fact that the Naga, Mar, and the Human, Althalus, were having a child only reinforced her belief that what she was doing and thinking was wrong. Which only made her feel more conflicted and confused shen her emotions disagreed and turned her thoughts against her. Confiding in Khan hadn't helped, and neither had attempting to rigidly control her emotions. Her only blessing was the fact that Auriel seemed oblivious to what was going on. Something Aramir was grateful for.

Still, she walked away from the crowds and the loud noises, sure that was where Auriel would be. She was currently alone, the crowds in the College a dull rumble in the background. As she walked, she hummed softly to herself, filling that void that the crowds didn't. It had been six months, and her fear of silence had gotten better, but it was no where near managble.

Years of hunting in the howling Plains made listening in this quiet environment almost unnaturally easy. Thus, she picked up a sound, like the slithering of sand upon sand. Aramir stopped humming, and looked around. Seeing nothing, she called out, "Who is there?" Mentally, she cursed herself for not even bringing her knives. This environment had made her placated. An easy target.

Zaad had heard a humming as he edged just a bit from the shadows, his body once more dried while he spotted the small form of a Snow Elf. The small humanoid with pointed ears was humming to herself, her body turned from the crowd and seemed obivious the world around her. He couldn't help but snicker at his luck. Immediately he slipped back into the darkness before she could see him, his form blened into the shadows as she passed by. He waited until she came into view and realized who she was on sight, mainly due to her association with Khan. Aram..Aramir something. He wasn't able to recall the last name at all, despite her countless time spent within the boss's company.

His teeth gritted a bit at the thought while he dwelled on it. The boss and her would often be seen either wandering the halls late night or spent time within his office, sipping Winter tea during their conversations. In the end, Khan was always the one who stood up late the longest when the Snow Elf left, believing he would soon retire. Those past regrets were hellish things.

His mind focused on that fact and couldn't help but wonder why the student stayed up late at night with the Headmaster. It couldn't be because she liked his company, at some point her body would've wounded down and her normal sleep cycle would've kicked in after at least a month at the College. So it wasn't the newness of the place which kept her. The more he thought about it, the stronger the desire to learn the true cause why Aramir couldn't sleep at night.

His head watched her head down the hallway, her pace steady and easy. That's when she heard his sand shift. Her humming stopped and her body edged to a halt, head darted about for its origins. Finding nothing she called out.

Zaad chuckled, softly. Then his hand reached into the shadow and knocked over a chair just outside a class room, it slammed heavily and echoed through out the hallways.

Aramir tensed when she heard the chuckling. Lovely. A prank. She thought, beginning to turn around. That plan was ruined as the chair came banging down, causing her to jump about a foot into the air. She whirled around, trying to see who had done that. But of course, she saw nothing but an fallen chair and shadows. Still, she didn't move from where she was, and instead slowly circled around, eyes scanning for any hint of her mystery antagonizer. She couldn't shake the sinking feeling that she was being hunted, or at least something similar to it. This wasn't a situation she was unfamiliar with, most creatures at anything they could in the Plains, including those that were supposed to be hunting them. Thus, she treated it like she was being hunted, her mind racing.

It could be a distraction, to get her to focus her attention on that sound. Alternatively, it could also be a scare tactic to get her to run where they wanted her to run. The best option was to stay still until she knew what was bothering her. It was a creature like her, to be certain. After all, animals didn't chuckle.

"Very funny. Now, why don't you quit the childish attempts at scaring me and actually come out?" Well, this little trip had suceeded in her goals. Auriel was the last thing on her mind right now. That was a blessing, right?

Zaad merely ignored her as his shape shifted and gathered towards the rafters. His four red eyes watched her move away from the noise made by the chair and her head shifted side to side, panic and cautious. He could've easily pounced from above and she wouldn't have known. However, scaring her was much, much more fun. His hand reached into the shadow again to the same place.

His hand reached for the chair and using his wrist, snapped it across the floor. It headed just to the left of Aramir. It slammed into the wall. The wood creaked and clattered, a single leg broken off in the rough toss. Again...Zaad chuckled. His form moved when Aramir moved at the sound's source. His body shifted behind her where he shrank a bit, enough not be seen when she looked upwards.

Aramir's head snapped over to the chair as it began skittering it's way over towards her, and she stepped to the side. Unneccessarily, perhaps, but she would rather be safe than sorry with whomever, or whatever, was tormenting her. The chair slid past, so close she could feel the air of it's passing. Yet again, she cursed the fact she didn't have her bow or at least her daggers. Anything to make whomever was doing this have second thoughts about continuing to do this. Assuming that they were able to be injured by things as simple as arrows and steel daggers.

Some creatures couldn't be damaged by arrows, even if she had runes inscribed into both her bow and her arrows to give them more power. The first time she had gone hunting with Mar, the arrows had simply bounced off of the tough armor of inhabitants of the Ravine. She had managed to find the joints where the armor didn't protect them, but to many close calls, to many times she had felt hot breath on her cheek and the swipe of claws barely missing her.

So she had gone back to Val, and gotten the Runes she needed. There were no more close calls now. Well, aside from the one she was currently experiencing.

Once again she heard that chuckle, right above her, and she looked up to see only nothing.

"Okay. So you're obviously not a student, going from the ground floor to the roof quite quickly..." She heard the sand sliding on sand sound again. Directly behind her. Turning around, Aramir jumped backwards at seeing a creature made of what appeared to be pure shadows directly behind her. She didn't like being suddenly surprised by whatever it was. She didn't like it at all."By all of the Gods," She said, practically spitting the words out. "Who are you, what are you, and why are you throwing chairs?" She eyed Zaad warily, not trusting him.

"Well, how else am I suppose to get my kicks? You're rather cute for a frightened mouse, aren't you?" Zaad chuckled, his body glided to the side as his dark sand floated by her.

His hand reached for the chair then slide it back to its rightful place, his mind still savored the scene of her fright. It wonderful how that feeling coming back when someone was frightened of him again whch made him realize how much he missed that. She might've been small and rather timid, but it still felt damn good. His body turned to face her, his four red eyes narrowed on her. "Why you keep visiting the Headmaster is beyond me."

Aramir took a wary step back from him, as he glided by her. Every instinct she possessed, honed from hunting and being hunted in the Frozen Plains, was screaming at her to not trust this demon. At least she thought he was a demon. Her knowledge on the subject was limited, admittedly. Still, she kept her distance. He looked like he was made out of pure shadows. Shadows that could surround her, and cut off any light. Shadows that could bring back the darkness and the terror.

She ignored his first questions, and instead chose to concentrate on his final comment. If he wasn't going to answer her questions, maybe he would let some information slip in idle conversation. "Who else is there to talk to when I'm up all night? The Golems?" She gave a quick little smile. While it was true some of the Golems had sentience and the ability to talk, most were Gargoyles and rather...surly.

Though, she would prefer surly to Zaad at this point.

Zaad grinned at her cheek, something he believed might easily ripped from her soon enough. He chuckled at the thought in his head as he absorbed her words easily. It wasn't hard to note she was fearful of him as she back stepped to avoid him, her small form not able to move fast enoguh by the look of it. He snickered at the memory just a tidbit. Cute how she sought to hideit by making idle conversation and he replied to her questions in his own fashion. "You could try, but it makes me wonder why you would bother? Khan's not exactly the best company for you after all. It might look odd for a student to spend all her free time with him and most people need only a hint of something foul going on to jump to conclusions."

He said in a passing and mild way, his form moved again. This time a bit of sand brushed by to stroke her cheek, his form seemed to pace about like a predator who found a easy meal and intended to savor it. His hand rised close to his face had scratch his chin in slight boredom. From the corner of his eyes, he noted her reactions and movements for future referance.

Aramir shrugged her shoulders. The fact that people might assume she was sleeping with the Headmaster meant little to her. Unless they were going to leap to the conclusion that she should be killed for it, she couldn't care less. "Let them jump to conclusions. Can't be worse than what has already happened. And besides, few are up long enough to know about my nightly wanderings, much less that I talk to the Headmaster every night." She took another step back as he began to move by her, and that's when he brushed her face with his sand.

Aramir had never felt sand before. Much less felt it on her face. That, combined with the fact that Zaad seemed to be made of pure shadows and darkness and her fear of darkness, resulted in an, interesting reaction. She recoiled violently from the touch, eyes wide with fear and slight panic. Instinctively her hands curled in a cupping motion, and a small blue flame appeared in her palm. Aramir was breathing heavily through her nose, wrestling with the fight or flight instinct in her that screamed now was the time for flight. She didn't know what she could exactly do with the flame, but it was a reassurance. Flames beat back the darkness.

"Don't...don't do that. Please." She said in a shaky voice. It was clear she was just barely repressing fear and panic.

Zaad's lips twisted in to a wicked grin. His head turned back to her, a vision of mock confusion and concern, as he leaned towards her. He didn't care for her flame and even doubted she would use. Pyromanacers were such a pain at times but he was rather confident he would be able to handle one small snow elf. Again, she reminded him of a little blue mouse as she had recoiled from his touch, his words dripped with warning.

"And what do you think you're going to do with that little flame, um?"

If she was trying to scare him off, that wasn't the way to do it. She was, after all, just a novice which meant she wouldn't be able to do much other then glass the surface of his face. His mind flickered to Dollface at the moment, his tongue pressed to his cheek in memory at how painful that was. His lower half extended until it touched the ground where it unnotably reached for the nearest shadow, one right under the Snow Elf's feet. Slowly a shadowy hand rose up then aimed to latch upon her ankle. The moment they did, his fingers tightened and jerked backwards. His body on the other hand shifted to side step as he fully meant to watch her crash into the floor face first. A minor lesson not to threaten a demon.

He felt he was being more merciful then others, if they were in his position, would've been. Had she done that to a larger demon within the Ravine, the beast would've ripped her to pieces. Eating her limbs, insides and much more while she watched. This little...lesson was for her own good after all even if she didn't see it that way.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aramir drew a shaky breath. She wouldn't lose it. Not here. Not to this..demon. In response to his question, she said, "Nothing. I don't intend to attack with it. Even if I did, it wouldn't be much use against you, now would it?" After all, fire couldn't burn shadows. He would just reform, and then come to attack her..surround her, extinguish all light and leave her in nothing but darkness...Aramir shook her head in an attempt to clear it. She was tense from fear, every sense straining. That's how she picked up on that familiar sound right beneath her.

Looking down, Aramir was alarmed, to put it mildly, to see a shadow hand grasping at her ankle from her own shadow. While she avoided screaming, she did attempt to leap backwards and away from it. That failed, of course, and the hand grasped her ankle and tugged, making her fall hard to the ground. Her entire body shivered with uncontrollable fear. It's going to happen. He's going to swarm me with shadows. The light will go out. Darkness will be all I see and feel and know..

"Stop. Please. Stop." She begged. If she hadn't known that it'd be a useless gesture, she would have already been running.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zaad looked over the female Snow Elf, his body towered over her curled up form and seemed to frown at her reaction. Why is she reacting this badly to a little joke? He wondered with a slight disappointment of how quickly his joke became sour. His thoughts were distracted when a familiar voice broke in. Zaad's head jerked upwards, his eyes narrowed as Rathel started to rip into him.

What are you doing, Zaad?

"Nothing, I haven't touched her...yet." He answered honestly, his words replied out loud and clearly seemed to be address to someone unseen.

It seems you were thinking, weren't you? Back off Zaad, now. Rathel's tone took on an authority that rubbed Zaad wrong, his teeth gritted at being told what to do.

"You can't tell me what to do..." To prove his point, Zaad's hand extended a finger to brush the Snow Elf's cheek again.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aramir's eyes, wide with fear, flashed in brief confusion as Zaad seemed to be talking to himself. However, her confusion was stored away for later use as she saw her opportunity. If the shadow demon was distracted, that meant he couldn't use his shadows. Which meant she might escape this without remembering the dark. Slowly, carefully, Aramir began to drag herself away from Zaad. If she could just get far enough away to start running...

Then, of course, he had to reach out and touch her. Aramir was scared. Absolutely terrified. And she had no where to run, as far as she was concerned, since Zaad could just keep pace through the shadows that were everywhere. So she reacted on basic, cornered animal, instinct.

"Leave me alone!" Blue flames erupted around her, swirling into a brief protective dome, stopping any attempt to touch her. Of course, this only lasted for a couple seconds, before Aramir's emotional boost ran out and she collapsed to the floor, only barely keeping herself up.

Crackle...

Pain and glass filled Zaad's arm as the sand heated when it touched the blue flames. He naturally bit back the scream which had edged to his throat and died there. This fucking shit hurt. His eyes brigthen with a red fury as his hand turned into a familiar shape, one he had used to put down many others before this bitch. He held up, pointed at the Snow Elf's head. Khan would never know if there wasn't a body found, now would he? The thought seemed like a very good idea within his head.

His finger squeezed the trigger and light bursted from the gun muzzle. The bullet darted from the barrel, it's path was right at the out cold figure and he knew it would hit. He wanted it to so badly.

Hhhhiiissssshhhhh.

The moment the bullet touch her head, it fell apart. It crumbled and once more became black sand what shifted direction back into him. His breathing was hard and very angry as he looked at the fallen student. He couldn't leave her there, now that his temper was eased, while he inhaled with a sigh. His hand scratched the back of his head in thought.

"Any other demon would've torn you to pieces by now..." He mumbled to himself, knowing fully well how that felt. "Fuck it."

He turned to the other demon, Rathel, who emerged from the shadows. It seemed he wasn't happy as his eyes narrowed upon the student then jerked to him, accusing as usual. His nails clicked to approach her allowing his sweet adn calming scent to premate through the air in a faint hope to sooth her fright. She would likely had remember him from an occasional meeting time to time.

"What have you done now?!?" He seemed to growl defensively, a tone rarely used unless in Zaad's presence.

"I let off some steam. What does it look like I did? She's not dead so get off my case." Zaad's figure jerked down the hallway and vanished, his attitude clear uncaring. His voice echoed back in his departure. "Take care of her..."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aramir was only barely aware of what was going on. She knew Zaad had done something to her, because she felt something on her head. But she didn't know what because her vision was rapidly darkening. She had used too much blood, to explosively. Darkness was closing and dragging her in, no matter how hard she tried to fight it. That's when a slightly familiar scent reached her nostrils. Her mind struggled, and failed, to make a bigger connection with the scent than 'Safe'. Still, she felt a calmness go into her, a fight go out of her. The darkness closed in faster.

"No..no.." She mumbled before passing out. It was a blessing, in a way. Maybe she'd forget her entire experience. At the very least, she wasn't afraid anymore.

As Zaad left, Rathel once more was the one to clean up the demon's mess. His hollowed out quills rattled a bit in frustration but quickly settled down when he glimpsed the student's condition. It seemed she had used too much blood and was paying for it. Mentally cursed Zaad's stupidity, Rathel's arms lowered to scoop the small Snow Elf into his grip. Holding her like an ape did an infant, he started to make his way towards the infirmary as the plant had notified him of her location recently.

After a bit of navigating around the hallways and time getting there, he finally had made it. His large frame waddled in before he gently set the Snow Elf upon the nearest empty bed. "Lucilia, we've got a student who used too much of her blood."

When he was sure the small Snow Elf was being tended to, his eyes shifted about."What happened here and everyone alright?"
