The only response Zexel gave was a twitch of her wolfish ears as she continued reading upon the chapter of vampires and sucubus. Still as shee read, she pondered over the pure werewolf's words. Both of them were completely different, and most likely lacked understanding of one another. Zexel never really expected anyone to understand her though. Most probably thought she was just shy. It was true, but there was more to it. Even if she could explain it, Erika or anyone else probably wouldn't care or understand.

At the announcement of killing everyone before she dies, Zexel glanced at her briefly again before looking at the book. Words clenching in her throat until she felt she was choking. She wanted to ask why Erika would even bother with such a thing. Then she pondered if it was just another thing she lacked understanding.

How would one wish to spend her last hours? Revenge? Regrets? Passion? Many individuals seemed to have a different response to it. She didn't feel there was anything she could do. Her last wish was impossible and Erika's seemed more probable.

After a few moments of silence, her silky, quiet, yet clear voice spoke. "...Your last wish would be blood?" she asked as she glanced to the red head once more.

"Yes, we can take them. But we can't take them." She gestured towards the warden as she said that. "It hasn't even been a week since I came out of solitary." Aelotte seemed to get smaller as she talked about the wardens. She took another sip of water, but as she did, the glass shattered in her talons and she whimpered, before taking deep breaths.

When the centaur slammed her hands on the table, she jumped in her seat, and had a look in her eye that preceded every fight she'd ever gotten into. It softened when she saw it wasn't the werewolf or the succubus. In fact, it was a centaur. They had been told they were getting a centaur as a roommate, and this was confirmed by what she said. Aelotte extended a shaky talon, and mumbled her name. "Aelotte."

She caught the eye of one of the servers, and realized they were signalling for her. Now may be the time to really gross out the human, because Rose finally got to eat.

Rose got up from her seat at the table with the human toy and the Succubus. She was impressed - there was more than meets the eye with most of her fellow inmates. It would be interesting to see how they might be made to tick. Manipulating other's to create drama was always an entertaining pursuit, but Rose would rather see some serious divide go on in the prison. Watching her little playthings squirm would bring her much pleasure.

She sauntered to the lady, and bared her teeth at her just to watch her squirm. She took the large dark glass the lady was holding out for her, at arms length, as if it could somehow infect her. It entertained her to see they would try to hide exactly what it was she was drinking from the other inmates with the dark glass, and that they were already intimidated by her. No matter, she'd make a show of enjoying it for her audience.

She wanted to drink it at her table, but the guards gave her a curious look and she decided not to stir the pot too much on the first day. She drank it down slowly, enjoying the rich taste. It was never enough, but the less blood they gave her, they less powerful she was. She made a show of sighing after and licking her lips, then handed the glass back and walked back to her table. She sat down, this time less predatory and more observant. She looked to her cellmate Selwyn, and to the human. Today could only get more interesting.

The girl at the table wasn't much for talking. Typical. So many inmates thought it better to simply clam up and stay solo. By only getting involved with yourself, you got to avoid getting entangled with others. It was almost admirable, but it was also naive and foolish. No one gets anywhere on the inside by being an introvert. Sooner or later, lines get drawn. Sooner or later a decision happens. Selwyn had been an inmate long enough to know the reality of things. But let the girl have her illusions. Her delusions, as they were. She would learn soon enough. They all do.

Selwyn was in mid bite when Rose came over and announced her presence. Ah, Rose, the other cellmate. Though Selwyn liked to think she was on good terms with both Rose and Tiela, if she had to pick a preferred cellmate, it would be Rose. And only because of their similarities in terms of basic needs and wants. Cut from the same cloth, and if she was being totally honest, it was nice to see a fellow inmate who also appreciated the use of a mirror. '

"Ah, Rose, dear, you are awake. Always a joy. As far as food goes, this one is far too quiet and reserved for my tastes. I much prefer them to be active. Lively. Full of...stamina. But by all means, she is all yours." Selwyn allowed herself a chuckle, baring her fangless teeth towards Rose and the other woman. Selwyn wasn't joking, and she wasn't quite about Rose, though she erred on the side of Rose being as serious as she was.

The smile turned southward in a flash as the cat thing decided the best course of action in procuring freely acquired goods was by trampling over food and making a comment meant to be insulting. Selwyn merely sighed out of more annoyance than anything else. Typical inmate mentality. Make yourself seem like you don't take any shit right up until the end. Prison was like a schoolyard, and the cat was like a fifth grade bully trying to impress the eighth graders.

She was failing.

"Why is it, Rose, that others seem to think remarks against my appearance will irk me? Do they think I lack for confidence, or do they honestly think I care so much about my physical features that any knock against it will get my blood boiling? Honestly, it is like all they know is what I am and figure that that is good enough ammunition. It would be rather hilarious if it had not been happening for centuries." Selwyn spoke and as she did so, offered only a little chuckle and handwave towards the leaving woman.

A pot calling the kettle, that one. Who wasn't a freak in this place, in their own way?

"By the by, have you seen Tiela about? I wish to ask her about her rodent hunting." As Selwyn spoke to Rose she turned around and tapped a newly seated goblin on the shoulder. The goblin turned around and Selwyn whispered something in her ear. The goblin's eyes perked up and she began nodding profusely. Selwyn returned the smile with a sly grin as she handed over the tray of cat-trampled meat in exchange for the newly acquired tray of meat that had been the goblin's.

"Much better." Selwyn grinned and began to cut up her new meal.

Typical....

Even to that, not a single response had followed from the half-breed sitting to her left, her eyes only affixed to what else but the very thing she clutched eagerly in her hands and poured all her attention into other than just carrying conversation with her pure-blooded cellmate. Even at the threat of her own life being accounted among the mass of bodies and rivers of blood Ericka desired to conjure forth, Zexel rarely flinched or fidgeted in her seat, merely just ignoring the words of the woman and dismissing them as folly, outright ignoring Ericka as the mutt ignored everyone else...except her damn books. Sure there were a few brief glances here and there towards the woman sitting next to her, but that was pretty much the only contact Zexel wished to make.

However, wasn't long though that.....well praise the Goddess and rape a virgin...the woman finally spoke, and her words...more or less biting towards Ericka, despite the soft whisper Zexel's words were carried upon to the tinging ears of the werewolf. "Not just blood, mate." Ericka replied, another long, slow drag of her cigarette, till nothing was left but the filter, carelessly discarding of it with a huff of smoke exhaled. "Blood and fire. It's been two hundred and fifty years since they locked me up in this Goddess damned place, and if they want me to go out, then I guess I'm going out with a bang, so to speak. Like I said though, if you're smart, you'll be spared, and...." At this, her teeth were bared in quite the grin, malicious and vile in nature as the werewolf continued, her voice low and threatening...but with a smarm, "If you wanna score extra points with me, I wouldn't mind you doing any favors." Ericka snickered, patting Zexel's shoulder with her broad, calloused hand, a dangerous glint in those fierce yellow eyes, only growing fiercer when she caught sight of that damn Hell Fairy, working her charms to get a little extra meat on the side, the pretentious, cowardly slag.

"You know what, Zexel? I think I'm still hungry." Didn't take long for the gargantuan beast to rise, storming across the cafeteria floor, the telltale clopping of her combat boots resonating amidst the chatter of women and clattering of plates and trays, before she was finally before the succubus, towering over Selwyn and her canines glitting at the sight of fresh meat...both the food and the scrawny bitch. "Well well, Li'l Hell Fairy, look who's the pup now?" She snarled down upon Selwyn, a pretentious and sinister grin crossing her lips, exposing the rest of her gleaming ivory blades. "Begging and whining for your table scraps, eh? You know what whining got a pup in my clan?" The answer to that followed with the seizing of the meat tray and more verbal assaults from Ericka, "Not a fucking thing. Thanks for the plate, slag." Ericka laughed, her voice dripping with insulting venom. Taking the succubus' food, she sat down again by Zexel, feasting ravenously on the luke warm meat. Tasted like shit....but Ericka was too damn hungry to even consider the flavor, immodestly shoving chunks of steak down her gullet and licking at her chomps, mostly with relish towards slighting the woman who thought she ran everything here.

Sloan glanced towards the wardens monitoring the place, also known as the guards, as she pushed her empty can of tuna off to the side. She didn't really have any bad experiences with them to speak of, but that obviously wasn't the case for Aelotte. The little harpy spent some weeks in Solitary and had only gotten out a few days ago; it must have scarred her pretty badly. Sloan sympathized with Aelotte a bit. If the stories she had heard about solitary were true, she would be paranoid about getting into trouble too. But the little kitty always had a way out of more serious matters, so she rarely worried about her visits to Ashe's office. The only thing Sloan needed to worry about was people like Selwyn and Ericka. Both used different tactics to get the things they wanted, but were equally annoying if one chose to get involved...Not that Sloan was particularly scared of them.

A lot seemed to have happen at once. Aelotte crushed her glass in her hand and an overwhelming barn smell hit Sloan's sensitive nose out of nowhere, causing her tail and ears to stiffen. There was a shadow looming over the table now, and had it not been for the distinct smell, Sloan would have assumed Ericka had come to play again. The slamming on the table and standing creepily had Ericka written all over it, but it was just a centaur. Happily surprised to see this strange breed of horse standing before them, Sloan looked the woman up and down as she introduced herself as their new room mate.

"Sloan. Though I have to admit-"Her ears twitched several times as she began, looking to Aelotte suspiciously and then back to the centaur. "I heard no such thing. One does have to wonder where you will be sleeping though? A stack of hay, or does your kind sleep on the bed? Or do you generally do half and half?" Sloan smirked at Ell, revealing one of her sharp fangs. They were quite similar to vampire fangs in appearance, except they weren't as long and did not retract.

Zexel turned another page to read about Centaur's as Erika spoke. Even when Zexel understood the possible meaning for favors, the hybrid didn't react to it and merely briefly glanced to Erika before back at the book. It took a few more moments of silence before she was able to choke out words.

"...Unlikely. You seem to enjoy hunting more." Zexel responded as calmly and bluntly as ever, her eyes glancing toward the feline as if to say 'like her, for a good struggle and fight to get the favor' before looking back at the book.

Unsure how she would respond to such a act, she merely ignored it. It was a natural thing to wish for when trapped in prison with no release. Many seemed to get riled up without it from time to time. Zexel never understood why, aince she has not experienced the urge or the act of it.

Erika soon left to get some more food, seeming happy to take from others. It was unlikely, werewolves had healthy appetites and required large portions to be actually full. They just get cran. ky if they don't eat enough.

Soon though Erika returned, wolfing down the food she had stolen. In a way, Zexel wanted to warn Erika that eventually the werewolf will probably get herself in a situation where she bit off more she can chew. Still, the hybrid only continued her reading silently.

Eva blinked at the room around her, dazed by the noise and the images. It had been so long..... she did not know how long she had spent in some isolated little cupboard of a cell. Long enough that she had gone into hibernation. She was so confused. Why had she ever been locked away like that? She didn't even remember what she had done. All she knew was that she was back, in a room filled with no one she recognized. The guards had given her four badgers to eat, but she was still hungry. Stupid pests were never able to provide enough depth of love to satisfy her, but it was especially bad when they were killed shortly after she ate them. Like she could manipulate badgers into freeing her!

She was in the cafeteria, she knew. She sat alone at a table in the corner, watching others eat their drivel, her hands folded on her lap and her knees pressed together. She was gagged, of course; the piece of white cloth that covered her month looked ordinary, and her muffled speech could even be heard through it, but some sort of spell had been placed on it. If anything other than her face got too close to the gag it would lock tightly in place and the little box chained to her waist would launch thin little chains out to the metal bands around her wrists and ankles and reel them in. The process was very humiliating, and Eva wouldn't trigger it on purpose. Except....

She was so, so hungry! She had to do something. Fortunately, dazed though she was, she was not oblivious to her surroundings. At a table not far from hers, an apparently notorious werewolf was talking about killing everyone. She wondered.... maybe that werewolf was strong enough to break her gag. No matter who that werewolf was, she could never actually hurt Eva. it was worth a shot. So, wavering, Eva rose and walked, teetering and holding onto tables for support as her bare feet made their way across the cool floor. After making a show of hesitating, she took a seat next to the girl who was reading. She let her eyes flicker back and forth between her lap and the women around her and said, "Um, hello... I just got out of solitary, I was in there for quite a while, and, well...." She flashed a weak smile at the pair of werewolves (unaware that they'd never see it through her gag) and continued, "Um, nice to meet you!"

By the great mother the cafeteria was an exciting place to be this morning! Not that it was ever an overtly boring place, given the conflicting mess of personalities that gathered there for each meal, but today, well, Tiela was just finding the interactions between all of the big people very amusing.

From her perch high up on the wall, Tiela scoffed her oversized chunk of meat as she merrily surveyed the comings and goings down below.
She spied a centaur eating green food, if you could call it that.
'Blech!' Tiela thought, shaking her head profusely at the concept of munching on anything that didn't once have a pulse, eyeing the centaur with derision until her attention was drawn by the acrobatic antics of the catlike creature known as Sloan.

Tiela seemed to take great delight in the viseage of what was, to her, an absolute mammoth flying through the air with the grace and agility of a true feline and cackled wildly from atop her highrise seat, holding her hands to her belly and rocking back, kicking her feet in the air in delight before clapping her hands together in barely audible applause.

For several more minutes, she watched the interactions of all sorts, bird people, werewolves, centaurs and eventually took note of the fact that two of the people recognised as her cellmates were present in the cafeteria. To Tiela, cellmates was still a rather broad designation for someone to hold and had little importance to her, Axxx Drk was so incredibly massive to her that a cell was still the size of a football field and she felt no more kinship with the giants that shared the space than she did any other of the massive creatures that lumbered about the dark halls of the correctional facility.

Still, they had not crushed her in her sleep, so that did count for something.

As she sat there, chin resting on her knee as she mulled over the temperaments of her cellmates, her attention was suddenly drawn to the call of one of the food servers, hailing Rose the vampire over for her regular feed of blood.

Tiela perked right up at the sight of the dark glass, knowing full well what it contained and, despite having just consumed about a third of her bodyweight in raw meat, suddenly became ravenously hungry again.

Having a full belly, her urge to consume the blood was one of pure gluttony and did not trigger her predatory transformation. Indeed, with little need to hunt, it rarely was triggered in the prison and was more often reserved as a defense.

Still, the extra nutrients of the blood would be of benefit and Tiela crouched upon the brick platform high above the tables of the cafeteria, eyes trained on Rose as she swallowed the red liquid contained in her glass. Slowly, silently Tiela crept over the precipice of the ledge and crawled like a spider down the worn stone wall.

As soon as Rose was done, letting out her contented sigh and returning the glass to the server, Tiela pounced, fluttering like a butterfly on a mission she darted across the cafeteria, bobbing and weaving through the crowd before disappearing straight into the glass that Rose had just discarded.
Within, Tiela gripped the sides of the glass with her arms and legs and lapped at the tiny droplets left within, taking in as much of the sweet nectar as she could. It tasted heavenly, the raw meat this morning had been bloody, but the thick droplets of liquid joy were rich, nutritious and delicious.

"Oi! Get outta thar!" came the frustrated cry of a goblin server, likely the same one upon whose food Tiela had earlier danced.
With a wicked smirk, Tiela flittered out of the glass, narrowly avoiding the teatowel that the goblin plunged into it before fluttering off to safety.

As if on cue as Selwyn questioned Rose on her whereabouts, Tiela fluttered past, merrily licking the leftover blood from her forearms and paying little mind to much else. It may have been an inconsequential droplet to the big people, but to Tiela it was a full blown meal, her second of the morning.

“I stand,” Ell replied rather curtly. “I mean it's hard to get up from laying on the floor, you know? Well I guess you probably wouldn't really know. It must be nice to be able to use a bed.”

Turning her attention to Aelotte, she hesitated slightly. The girl's hand was an absolute mess, full of glass like some sort of morbid pincushion and getting bloodier by the second.

“Arts and crafts are great and all, but I'm pretty sure that's not to best way to make red stained glass.” She gingerly reached over and took a particularly large hunk of glass out of the harpy's hand in lieu of a handshake. She dropped the shard on the floor and smashed it with a hoof before wiping the blood off her fingers on her leg. It wouldn't be a great idea to be seen with a bloody piece of glass next to somebody with a jacked up hand.

Not really knowing what to say next, she carefully sat down on the floor. Even if she couldn't add anything more to the conversation at the moment, she figured it was probably better to stick with Sloan and Aelotte than to go it alone. Besides, the horse instinct in her always gave her the nagging feeling to 'herd' up with others. Being alone for very long made her panicky.

Before Erika could react, another girl decided to invade Zexel's space. Erika was one thing, they were cellmates and Zexel was pretty much the only one who listened and put up with the bad temperment. But having another person sit next to her and talk to her was just plain odd. The tall werewolf dragon hybrid had to look around in case some creature with psychic abilities was messing with her. Apparently not since they seemed busy talking amongst themself. Slowly, she glanced at the stranger to get at least a image description before staring down at her book.

This girl had a strange smell, a hint of lily and death. The gag must be important for something. Could be a vampire, but they smelled more of blood. It sort of made Zexel curious in what exactly this prisoner was. Most of them were sort of obvious thanks to the book she was studying and her getting used to the different scents.

After a few moments of awkward silence, Zexel realized she should probably do something in response to the greeting. How does one greet people properly again? No, sniffing wasn't correct... that was a wolf thing. Handshake? No hands trembling ever so slightly, too weird. Neck nipping? No that was vampires way. Dancing? No nymphs....

Overthinking proper responses, her control over her form was slightly shifting. Horns slightly sticking out behind her slightly larger wolf ears and her fangs stabbing her lips. The hybrid didn't understand why she shifted, she guessed out of nerves, but she was unsure if she was nervous or not. Maybe. Either way she might as well at least do something before she transformed and broke the table.

So slowly she glanced at the white, gagged woman once more before glancing away. Raising a hand in a slight slow wave in her direction before it went and turned a page in the book.

"Back to breakfast inmate. You know the rules."

"What the heck do you suppose I do here? I'm done eating!"
Clare tried reasoning with the guard but was met with no verbal response. Instead the guard just became less lax, tensing herself as if she was expecting trouble.
Clare sighed before returning to her table. She propped up her elbows on the table and rested her head on her hands. She looked around her , waiting for everyone to be over with their breakfast.
The vampire was brought a glass and Clare noticed the show she made as she drank the blood. Clare gave her an unfazed look before she returned to people-watching. If the vampire thought she could intimidate Clare, she had another thing coming. Clare knew a vampire or two, and had even fought beside them. However, now was different from then and this vampire was no comrade of hers.
Clare noticed a hybrid reading and decided she would get herself a book too. Probably a good, thick one; one that would last long enough to keep her entertained during the slow moments of prison life, such as the one she was currently trapped in.

Aelotte looked down at her talon. There were shards of glass in it. She merely looked embarrassed, annoyed and shocked that she didn't notice before, and had offered that hand. She reached over with her other, glass-free talon, blushing, avoiding eye contact and shrinking into herself. She then stood up, collected all the broken glass, and gave it to a warden to dispose of carefully, picking the glass out of it right in front of him and muttering 'sorry'. She returned to her seat. Not once did she cry out in pain, it showed in her face when she pulled the glass out but only the warden saw that.

"Well, that was a bad first impression. At least you didn't see me get in a fight..."

Rose leaned back in her seat and grinned at the human’s body language; she liked a little bit of fight in her potential meals. Thinking back to her previous meeting with the Warden, she tried to gauge how long it she’d be in solitary for if she snacked on her. Probably a while, but she was going to be in here for a good chunk of her future, so she didn’t really have much to lose.

She would miss the interactions of her fellow prisoners, though. She fed on all the intense emotions surrounding her, not as strongly as an empath would, but it excited her none the less. Sometimes when she was still on the outside, she’d touch one of her meals and portray their worst nightmare, just to get a rise out of them as she was feeding. Some of her more humane friends found this disturbing, but enjoying the suffering of others was the least of her character flaws.

“I was thinking of mentioning it to her as well. As charming as it is that she’s leaving us presents like a domestic animal, they’re a little unsightly, and if there is a smell of death in the room, I’d prefer it be coming from my meal.” Today, Rose was clearly going for the obnoxious predator feel.

In reality, she just really liked to stir up trouble.

“Let me know how it goes, ta ta.” Rose exaggerated a Parisian accent and fluttered her hand at Selwyn. She rose to go meet some of her fellow inmates. Spotting a distraught looking harpy, the Warden’s favourite and the Centaur, she wandered over.

“Hello,” Rose spoke to the group, and noticed the Harpy’s bloody talons. For some reason, Rose felt a pang of sympathy for the Harpy, something she hadn’t felt in years. She glanced around the group, and waited to see if they would acknowledge her. With this group, especially with Sloan, she felt like it would be prudent to test the waters a bit before being full on bitchy. Maybe she might even make a friend in this place, a novel idea.
