[OOC] Magical Corruption (A Magical Girl RP)

For years Magical Children have been protecting the world from evil. Often this evil takes the form of Demons who break through the barrier between our world and the Demon World. For the most part these demons haven't ever been that smart, nothing more than mindless creatures. Lately however these demons have been becoming smarter. They have been able to damage the physical world, even harming humans.

In the human world most consider these damages as natural phenomenon or rather just full vandalism. There have been a few attempts by the magical children to get to the bottom of this recent activity by the demons. However those that ever try to enter the demon world always seem to come back as demons themselves. Due to this the most that the magical girls can do is just keep defeating more demons.

Thankfully with each demon they defeat they seem to be learning more about what is going on. So far what they have learned is that a new demon lord has been crowned within the demon world. This new demon lord brought with him a power of corruption, one that he can share with his fellow demons and even corrupted magical girls.

Now a new group is being set up to try and enter the demon world once again, however corruption is something that will happen to them no matter what happens, can this new plague be stopped?

Corruption Mechanic

So Corruption works through exploiting the psychological weakness of the magical girl. Demons have the ability to create illusions, it's how they stay hidden from the public in the first place. With the corrupt power given by the demon lord they can learn about what that weakness is by touching the person. From there words are spouted to make the person go into a state of weakness. Then once weakened they become corrupted.

Rules/ Things to know

1. This is a globe trotting RP, there will be a portal system in place that only magical children can use so we can go from place to place with great ease.
2. Feel free to get super creative
3. No Meta gaming
4. When a battle between two players starts be sure to discuss who the victor should be before the battle.
5. CS must be posted in OOC before it goes to the character section.
6. If I decide to have your character to be corrupted for some reason your character is corrupted, though the corruption is temporary until they are defeated.
7. I will add more when I think of them.

The magical girls have met. However the magical girl known as Nya was taken when the demon lord herself showed up. The Demon Lord plans to turn Nya into a demon after learning about the girls psyche.

I'll get working on a character. Small question: does the magical child name have to be some code name which describes their powers, or could it also be a normal name (which describes their powers)? For example, could a magical girl who has fire powers have the magical child name 'Amber'? (Amber sounds the same as ember)

Personality: Nelly suffers from dissociative identity disorder (DID) where she seems to bounce between one personality which is believed to be the original Nelly and one other identity that shows itself after certain criteria are met named Syrn. Nelly can be best described as the warmth people want to feel when they're down, in the form of a hug or just general acts of kindness, if someone needs something and Nelly has it she’s more than willing to share even if she doesn’t have it she’ll attempt to go out and get it. Always a cheerful optimist working through depression, loneliness and all of life's problems in a ‘glass half full’ kind of fashion in a way that almost feels outright obnoxious.

Saryn is a different story from the regular Nelly but unless a person has spent a good amount of time with both one wouldn’t notice the change. Sayrn mimics Nelly’s personality almost flawlessly the only real change is the thing that motivates her, while the real Nelly will help out of kindness Sayrn on the other hand seeks reward. While on the outside Saryn copies Nelly on the inside she is cold, sadistic, and very loathing of those around her; Sayrn is most likely to back stab Nelly’s best friend for literally anything she deems a worthy reward, but she’d do it in such a way that Nelly’s reputation isn’t ruined; this isn’t out of a liking for her other half its simply if people don’t trust their face it’ll be harder to take advantage of them later.

Nelly and Saryn will swap places with one another at random intervals, usually if one or the other falls asleep, Saryn is most likely to step in if Nelly isn’t emotionally capable of handling the situation if the glass is completely empty for whatever reason. Sayrn will sometimes release her dominance over the body out of convenience.

Gimmick/Theme behind Powers: Sun Tarot card (Both right side up and upside down)

Psychological weakness: Dissociative Identity Disorder

Powers:

Card: XVII – The Sun (Right-side up is Nelly, Upside-down is Saryn) the constant flipping and rotation of the card changes depending on the personality that is dominant at the time and because of this her skill take on different yet similar effects. Being both the savior and the taker they can be a truly helpful asset when used properly.

Aura of Preservation / Vampire Link: When Nelly is in control she passively has a warm presence that protects and rejuvenates her friends and allies, healing minor wounds, restoring stamina and giving an overall sense of comfort. The shield will absorb a good amount of incoming damage and transfer that energy to become a slightly stronger shield, however if those shields were to break all damage received is reflected upon Nelly while her allies remain untouched.
Sayrn isn’t as giving and it is reflected in this ability that allows her to sap energy, and overall health from anyone she comes into contact with, if she touches someone she choose to connect their very life essence to her draining the target until she cuts the line or the victim dies, this stolen energy gives Sayrn a much stronger shield and healing affect while transferring all received damage to whomever she is linked with dividing it up equally ensuring that she goes unharmed. The amount of energy she steals is completely up to her. The immediate immune system of the poor unfortunate soul to be linked starts to shut down allowing Saryn to enjoy the warmth of another while their shivering in the cold and sickness.

Illumination / Blight: Nelly’s illumination shines brilliantly through even the deepest darkness, lighting the way and even canceling out most minor illusions granting ‘true sight’ to allies around her, the initial wave can even exorcise lesser demons. The true sight only lasts for five minutes while the light can last as long as Nelly needs it.
Sayrn possesses the blight a sickly flame the devours anything, it touches friend or foe consuming both the body and soul, she can channel this flame through her vampire line to cause the target more pain to heal her even faster or mealy incinerate the enemy

History: It’s completely unclear who exactly was the original personality, because Nelly’s name is similar to the name given to the body born it’s usually just easier to assume Nelly came first. The name Naphaline wasn’t given to her by her birthmother as she abandoned the baby in a basket somewhere in the middle of the street, a rather unlucky beginning for a child who was unwillingly brought into this world. Fortune would smile on the infant when she was picked up by a young woman who adopted the child, gave her a house and food even a name albeit a very unorthodox name.

Growing up was decent enough her mom wasn’t the richest person in the world, but she was a hard worker and very loving, Naphaline who didn’t know this woman wasn’t actually her mom looked up to her like a child would its parent and learned from her. Her mom always strived to be more than she was the day before, getting up early every morning and attempted to better herself and become a good role model for her adoptive daughter this kind and caring approach to child raising laid the foundation for the personality known now as Nelly, but her mostly self-motivated reward driven approach to life also helped bring Sayrn into the world however both were still apart of one whole.

The split between Nelly and Sayrn didn’t actually happen until their mom took deathly ill and Nellphaline was taken away as she wasn’t seen fit to take care of a child anymore. Now that she was away from her parent and living in an orphanage was very lonely, her kind personality was often times taken advantage of by the other kids so she would feel used or abandoned when lying in bed at night hoping her mother would get better; it was on such a night that Nellphaline’s psyche split in two giving birth to Nelly and Sayrn on one way she would never be lonely again and Sayrn could take care of the harder things while Nelly continued to strive for a brighter future in peace while maintaining her innocence. The dividing force between the two was strong enough to trigger the Tarot card “The Sun” allowing the two personalities some form of synchronous harmony.

I've made a demon~

I'm aware that I've made several liberties with the nature of demons in this RP and if there's anything that needs fixing or if I got anything wrong just say so.

An Affable Demon

Name: "Alex Stahl" (Real name: Alastor Cygnus), Owner of the Starlight Millennium Casino
Age: Unknown (As a demon, he never bothered to keep track of his age). He has, however, been spotted since the 1800s. Falsified ID claims he is 19

Alastor Cygnus

Personality: Alastor Cygnus is quite affable for a demon. He will never willingly engage in violence, finding doing so somewhat barbaric and that "there is no point in throwing off non-sentience if all we're going to do with our new-found sentience is fight again". Despite - or perhaps because he is - a demon the idea of loyalty is one that he admires. He considers himself loyal to those he makes promises to and will never break any sort of vow or oath. He considers this his way of proving his sentience over other, mindless demons. This does not mean that he does not derive enjoyment out of the suffering of humans - to him, the sight of humans despairing over losing entire fortunes and spiralling into massive losses within his casino are all delightful to him.

When it comes to magical children he does not view them as enemies but instead would view them as a bear would be around her cubs near a hunter. He considers humans and demons as species that would be forever at odds with each other not out of any sort of morality but simply because they are as incompatible as a snake and a mongoose. Due to his vows he will not antagonize magical children but should they see him as a demon to exorcise then he will gladly defend himself.

Alastor despises humans who corrupt and become demons. While those who fall due to the actions of his peers are understandable, those who fall out of personal sin or vice are traitors to their own people and race. If they are willing to betray their own humanity then they are untrustworthy, and it is because of that he never trusts them as demons either.

Powers:

Corruption: The base ability of any modern demon, Alastor has the power to corrupt humans.

Physical Alteration: In order to blend into modern human society Alastor learned the secrets of self modification and the ability of changing one's appearance. He does this to look as human as possible and so that people don't shout or scream when they see him.

Property Alteration: As the next level of his own physical alteration Alastor is capable of giving mundane objects magical properties such as enchantments, changing their shape altogether or even transmuting them into different elements. He is, however, subject to the law of conservation of mass.

He can even grant exorcist attributes onto weapons and objects he is altering although the process is quite dangerous on him simply due to the fact mishandling the object could be inconveniently painful. In order to do alter objects he requires direct physical contact with the object he is altering.

History: Alastor Cygnus was one of the first demons to gain some form of sentience and rise above the status of mindless monster, rising and visiting the human world during the age of exploration and empire. Having stayed out of the underworld due to the mistaken belief that he was an anomaly he travelled the human world, spreading some form of misery or disaster - although he insists that most were quite unintentional. Learning to stay in the human world longer bit by bit he began thinking as his sentience and mind grew. Thinking on the existence of demons and humans, thinking on their relationship, thinking on the nature of their conflict.

During this time, Alastor met the local priest of the community he had made his home. Although the priest instantly realized what he was - or at the very least had an idea - the two still became odd friends, finding mutual companionship in discussions of theology and philosophy. The two of them also played a lifelong game in which Alastor would consistently tempt the priest in an attempt to corrupt him while the Priest would do his best to try and redeem him - both things which the other thought were impossible. Time, however, soon took its toll and the priest succumbed to age. On his deathbed Alastor, who looked no different from the day they had met decades ago, finally made a vow that he would never harm innocent humans, something which he knew would severely weaken him, out of respect of their friendship and that it would be what the preist wanted. As such, Alastor soon began rapidly losing strength.

When the new Demon lord was crowned, Alastor returned to the underworld for one purpose and one purpose only: to challenge her position and aim to dethrone the demon lord. Entering the underworld with seven exorcist weapons of his own creation under the belief that seven was a powerful number, he challenged the demon lord and contested her crowning.

He will fully admit afterwards that he had been "quite soundly defeated".

As one of the first demons to have been granted sentience he should have been one of the most ancient - and thus, one of the most powerful. However, years of fulfilling his vow to his late friend had severely weakened him. Had he never met the priest it was entirely possible that he would never have lost his power and he could very much have won. Instead, he valued his loyalty over his power despite the weakness he knew it would bring up on him and lost as he did.

Defeated, wounded and on the run, Alastor hid himself in the human world. Watching the eras fly by, he finally made an appearance in the human world under the stolen identity of "Alex Stahl". Using a large sum of transmuted gold as his start-up finance he opened the now famous Starlight Millennium Casino in London England. A very legitimate businessman, he nevertheless is still a demon.

Naomi is cheerful and friendly, and very protective of those she cares for. She would easilly lay her life on the line for the sake of her friends, and has a high degree of empathy. She hides a darkness inside her however, a hatred toward all demons that burns away at her mind and heart.

Guardian - Naomi has superhuman strength and toughness, mostly focusing on toughness.

Shield - Naomi can generate energy shields around her.

History:
Naomi has always been the oldest child in her familly, daughter of a japanese woman and an american man. She was five when her twin brother and sister were born, and from then on her parents told her it was her responsibility to protect them. She took that to heart, helping take care of them, watching them when their parents couldn't, and when they were old enough walking them to and from school. For ten years, she loved and protected her siblings, but on a midsummer day visiting her mother's home, a demon attacked a shrine she was visiting, possessing a man already on the verge of madness. The man had a gun, and before anybody even knew what was happening, he shot Naomi's brother, killing him instantly. Naomi imediately ran to him and her sister, driven by instinct rather than her already crumbling psyche, but the man fired again before she could get there. As he turned the weapon on Naomi as she collapsed over her siblings, the spirit residing in the shrine took action, bonding with Naomi to protect her and give her the power to defend herself. The demon possessing the man was relatively weak, and in fear of the spirit fled back to it's own world, but the spirit couldn't undo the damage that had been done.

I want to make a baker girl whose magical powers revolve around chocolates, so would her corrupted self have a corrupted set of magical clothing different from her normal set? Also, would her powers change from her purified self? (Ex: Normal = ability heals allies. Corrupted = ability hurts enemies)
