Name: Roa En' Pheles
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance: Pheles stands a tall height of 7'2", wears black armor which shines violet under sunlight, and a torn velvet-red cowl over his right shoulder. His hair is white, and he hides his face behind a black helmet. His left gauntlet, the weapon named
Charon's Claw, gleams red and black, with bright-red seams glowing from within the claw. The torn drapes that hang around his waist are black, bearing no emblem, and his skin is pale white.
Personality: Depending on the situation, Pheles will act and feel differently with no two situations ever being exactly the same. He doesn't constantly default to one state of emotion, he can be reserved one day, and then the next day he can be social. His most common attributes outside of combat include being secretive, as normally he keeps his goals and thoughts to himself, often or not coming off as too quiet. Pheles can also commonly be very determined, normally only asking and answering the bare minimum of questions that have to do with his goal, while becoming very energetic. On the other hand, Pheles can also enjoy word games, often becoming very social in order to either achieve relations towards a goal or otherwise taunting someone in order to provoke a reaction out of another person. It is hard to predict exactly what Pheles will do, though more often than not his personality are a means towards his own selfish goals.
While in combat, however, Pheles has two states of mind: Fight, or enjoy fighting. If Pheles feels like he has the upper hand, he will normally toy with his opponents, provoking them into making them easier to predict. This is essential, as Pheles best means of attacking are waiting for the opponent to try and strike first. However, outside of this, Pheles is silent and relentless, only thinking of striking until the opponent has lost or been killed, whichever comes first.
Brief Backstory:Roa En' Pheles was bought as a slave to an old Warlock when he was a child. As a young boy, Pheles fought in a gambling arena held in the kingdom of Ithillin, until the knights of Calthir caught onto the gambling, and after they had slain the bandits who held the arena, as well as the Warlock who owned Pheles, they took him back to the capital where he was raised from within the barracks. After many troubling years of trying to teach Pheles and put him to work, the young man began to hate living in the barracks, feeling it was no better than living as a slave. So one night, he stole an heirloom from one of the visiting Castle Lords, all while managing to frame the knights who had helped to raise him. For catching them in the act, the Lord took young Pheles in as his son in law, while also grooming him to become a successor as well as teaching him the ways of the aristocrats. In his teenage years, Pheles grew tiresome of the old Lords. From his point of view, all their actions were devoted out of fear of losing their wealth and power, and so at the age of 19, Pheles fled Calthir.
Many months later, stranded and starving, he met an old knight travelling through the heart of Ithillin. Together they travelled, and in return for helping the old knight with his supplies as they walked, Pheles was taught basic combat as well as how to better wield a sword. However, Pheles' time in the arena as a boy made him feel he was a more capable of fighting with his bare hands. The two travelled together for many years, and Pheles learned that the old knight used to be a commanding soldier for the Iron Rose knights, however left the Kingdom of Thaln after serving many years. During their travels, they had accidentally stumbled upon the lair of the long dead Warlock Pheles used to serve. Upon their entry, they were attacked by a horde of undead. Working together, the knight and Pheles managed to defeat them all, however the Demon the warlock once served, known as Charon, was watching the two men fight. Impressed, the demon whispered from the shadows a deal: He told Pheles that he would reward him with power, as long as he betrayed the old knight and killed him. Feeling no remorse in killing his teacher, Pheles cut the old knight down, and in return Charon bound Pheles' left arm with a powerful magical gauntlet, and as a token of favor towards this heartless act, the demon also decorated him in a gleaming black armor. Satisfied, Pheles decided to head towards the Kingdom of Thaln. When he got there, he told the King that he had trained under the old knight, whose dying wish was that his apprentice would join the Iron Rose Knights as he once did. After asking many questions, the King was satisfied with the truth that Pheles had infact travelled with the old knight, and was sad to hear that he had passed away, however Pheles kept it secret that it was he who murdered the old knight. And so, with permission of the King, Sir Pheles was knighted, and was now a fresh new member of the Iron Rose Knights.
Equipment:- Charon's Claw: A powerful magical claw gifted to Roa En' Pheles, and also acts as Pheles' primary weapon. Used as both a shield as well as a claw, the enchantment keeps the gauntlet durable by restoring any damage it takes with every drop of blood it draws. It is forever bound to Pheles' arm.
- Pheles Black Armor: Gifted to Roa En' Pheles, the intricate black steel gleams violet, especially so in moonlight.
- Stolen Heirloom: A ring belonging to a Lord of Calthir, Pheles stole this when he was young to escape the commoner life, and once again after he had left Calthir.
- Iron Shortsword: Used in training with the old knight who taught him, Pheles has learned to use this in his off-hand, though an equally-skilled knight would prove this weapon folly.
Skills:- Heightened Instinct: Pheles hearing and keen sight are that of a wild beast, an effect from dark magical experimentation during his youth.
- Sword and Shield: Pheles has been taught how to fight as a knight, and can fight using his gauntlet as a makeshift shield.
- Witch Bolt: Charon's Claw has the ability to cast a spell that, in orer to cast, drains all the mana from the user. Needing no incantation, the spell takes a full minute to charge, and Pheles only has the stamina to cast it once per day. When ready to cast, the Claw becomes cloaked and engulfed in glowing red flames. When cast, the palm of the claw absorbs these flames and unleashes a red bolt of dark-elemental energy, its properties being very similar to lighting. The bolt can travel anything that can conduct electricity, and targets that are hit are struck as though they were hit by a great bolt of fire and lightning, becoming both greatly shocked and burned by the spell.
