@Rune_Alchemist

As of now there is nothing set in stone for how we're going to handle the end of this first battle. So for the time being, the fight is still on given that the 3 post limit received so much negative feedback. In any case, it's good to have you aboard the RP once more. Also fear not. Lone has like two slime girls in their arsenal.

To any one else, I'll repeat my point in that I would like to hear other people's opinions on the 3 post limit or any alternative ways we could feasibly end battles in the RP.

@TheWindel

I try my best to avoid this conflict, though I don't like the three post thing either. I know some of us don't post often, but I feel this is kinda limiting what we can do without collabs. But that's all I have to say on that.

As for ways to end battles, how about a more definitive win condition? Like either scoring an objective or a TPK against the enemy groups. If Bastion is the goal, than whoever has her and escapes would "Win" the battle. Alternatively, whoever can eliminate the others first. So if the Angels killed or captured all the PC's on both the Machina and Demon's side at once, they would automatically win the battle. Which I know sounds nearly impossible, but this way we can have our characters focus on fighting and we won't run into logical problems like how we manage to get through the Elicitor so easily.

@Lonewolf685

Only two? Pfft. I have like, five. I may or may not have a thing for our slimy friends. (As if my avatar wasn't any indication)

Also, having a more clear objective as to how to end battles would be nice.

A slimy, pink Alchemist that uses Runes. Quite a unique person right there. I can make a lazy demon.

Capturing Bastion first or killing each other off first were always options to winning the battle. The 3 post limit was more of a technical aspect than a story one. But certainly, whoever gets Bastion away from the Elicitor or kills the other side completely wins. The 3 post limit just ensured that process didn't take forever.

....

More characters? Am I reading that right?

....if so. I know what I'm making. You know what this RP needs? Slime girls.

We haven't set the idea in stone yet, but the current idea is that you can only deploy two characters into any Battle, but you can have an expanded roster of characters already made, This way capturing people does more than unlock the canon ero scenes, but also keeps them out of the following conflict and may require you to use someone from the roster, assuming no prison break happens.

And yes, Slime Girls are glorious :3

Honestly, I think a major factor that this can seemingly take forever is the four post resurrection thing. Its the only thing really making it possible for things to drag on forever.

Now, I get that you guys want to let everyone stay active and participate in the RP.

However, if everyone simply can resurrect after four posts, then it simply takes forever. Maybe instead of four posts, they simply resurrect after the battle? As such, being able to kill all the faction player characters means there is little to no more resistance from the side. Aside from some grunts, but most PCs can probably fend those off quite easily unless they're really super weak.

I mean, as far as taking forever goes, if the PCs are endlessly resurrecting the only way to 'kill' everyone is in a short time frame of four posts, which would kind of take forever, unless we made heavy use of collabs and managed to kill everyone in more or less the same exact moment.

But yeah, my thoughts on the matter. Off to find food!

Hmm...that's not a bad idea, actually. Would also mean that the players didn't know which characters the others were deploying in the battle either, which means a bit of a surprise for everyone.

So yeah, cool. I'ma go make a slime girl CS now. Because I can, and they are squishy and soft and adorable and huggable.

It was really more in following with the nature of the Nexus since no one actually dies inside the Nexus. The resurrection after every battle aspect seems more feasible.

I was wondering if it's okay if I make some details about the Eliticor's brig. I figured they would have a facility where they could keep angels and demons prisoners and limit their powers. This way Hibiki would have a place she can put Diana and talk to her. I'd also imagine that the brig is heavily fortified with a lot of defenders. Hibiki and Shizuka should be able to get there quickly since they know the lay out of the fortress, but if you want to intercept the two in transit I'm okay with that too.

We'll have everyone PM their character selections so no one can get an edge by being the last and submitting characters tailored to beat the rest.

I'm kinda on the fence about making a new character, and introducing new characters. At this point, in this battle, I think adding more would extend it. Any new characters should be introduced in the next battle. That way, this battle can actually end in a timely manner, without the sudden appearance of a new challenger. I cant choose between man...or demon. I have good ideas for both actually.

Though if you do take Diana and Co. into the Brig, they won't be able to fight the demons when they arrive, the Machina will be outnumbered, and things go pear shaped real quick. Still your call, though it leaves the Mexican standoff to Gwynn and Regia versus four Demons.

You wouldn't be creating new characters for this one battle. This is for the RP as a whole. Your new characters would not be allowed to participate in this current battle, but the next one.

No more characters are being added into this battle, and the system isn't decided yet, but we may 'Patch' it in after this battle to make the next one run smoother.

By allowing an expanded and changeable roster, we are saying you can make characters for every faction and not be limited to just two. And we may reserve the right to reject some characters in certain battles for faction balancing, IE we don't 11 demons fighting 3 Machin and 1 Angel. This will likely be considered on a case by case basis, and consider the factors behind the individual scenario (Like if Azazel were to do as discussed in the PM, hint hint)

Hmm... Mexican standoff does sound fun, but Hibiki and Shizuka have been ordered to take the two away somewhere safe... How about this: Hibki learns from the drones that the demons are near by, and after gearing up they return to the cargo hold? Since it's too far to get to the brig and frankly, the safest place would probably be with Regia. At least this way they could fight together.

Diana wouldn't betray the Machina. Considering her mission and how easy it is to break her, she won't be leaving them for a long time.

I'm gonna be perfectly honest, Windel, KoL.

I'm not liking that Diana is basically a Benedict Arnold. Its seems like she's actively trying to sabotage the angels victory here, which begs the question as to why the angels are using her anyways. As in, she sort of wants the machina to win from what you've been saying. Which is...kinda really gonna make Gwynn probably actually cut off her head next time they meet if she does.

...eh, whatevs. Ignore me.

Hey, gwynns surrendered...for the moment. Now, if the situation changes she'll probably make an attempt to escape with Bastion, if possible.

Well she's going to have a perfect opportunity to do so once Fran and her Lolita's show up.
