@Sep That's perfectly alright, it gives us time to mingle in this high-tension scenario, that is if anyone wanted to co-lab sharing their thoughts or getting to know each other before we're hurled into the black abyss awaiting us. I wouldn't mind Xaith needing a checkup from the ships doctor, or a visit from anyone who wants some system test done on their equipment, or anything else people want to do.

For what it's worth, a method I may use in order to stay within a certain time frame (or without time having to move much at all) is the use of dialogue and/or flashbacks (i.e. something the PC overhears triggers a memory from long ago, etc).

I like flashbacks as a way of character building, and allowing the reader to understand a bit more about the character, whether it's trivial info or not, showing their personality traits in action, or perhaps their upbringing, etc. For instance, stuff that you may have touched on in your bio could be explained in more detail, to a degree.

Both are valid options, and I think i'd prefer the flashback approach as I never stated anything between waking up that morning and going to work and so my initial post wouldn't need any more modification.
