@vietmyke Where do you get these ships? Cause there hella sexy. The fighters look cool. And reminds me off star citizen. The gunship looks like one used in the air rather than space.

@Sep but the fighter looks sexy af, and I can't in good judgement start yet another Space Opera RP on my own to fly it myself because I already have one.

Maybe a few specialty scout craft for the Nyx?

@vietmyke I'm not arguing that, but I'm trying to have a sense of uniformity, and the fighter design you linked doesn't look like anything else. I'll need to think about it, it's one of the few areas where I spent a lot of time searching and then came to a conclusion I liked .

Gunships staying the same though.

@Sep Fair enough. How about this for a scout ship? Similar design scheme, same artist.

@vietmyke What do you mean 'for a scout ship' out of curiosity? The Vitae has advanced sensors, and the Nyx can be used for scouting out systems. The only reason I see for needing a smaller ship with no FTL capability would be if it deployed from the Nyx.

@Sep mabey call them stealth ships instead?

Mostly because I want my character to be more a pilot than a controller for the Nyx. But I can just remake my character into a plain fighter jockey that flies patrols or whatnot. The Stealth craft idea would be nice too.

@boomlover Stealth Tech was something someone tried to wring out of me in the last rendition and I shot that down, as cloaking (as of the start of this roleplay, if people wanna work on it go for it) is currently not a viable thing.

I am fine with adding it in, @Vietmyke knows I'm not just being difficult I just want there to be a real reason for having it.

As far as stealth goes, I'm also not a fan of cloaking technology- by stealth ship, I mean the ability to hide emissions readings -via dumping excess heat into shielded heatsinks mass effect style, or something like that. Perhaps these scout ships are used to extend the sensor range of the Vitae and Nyx.

@Sep Cloaking wouldn't work anyway as the ship's sensors would read the energy readings anyway. I more meant of like a small ship that's barely seeable on the scanners. As in the entire ship would be able to shut down except for life support. Meaning that most aliens would think that this ship could be a peace of debris for all they know.

@vietmyke basically what he says.

@vietmyke, write up some specs and throw them to me in a similar style so I can tack it onto the OP. The Nyx will carry two as it's fighter/scout supplement. Obviously they can still assist the Vitae if needed.

The T-47 is a small craft, clocking in at approximately 14m long. It is a single seat fighter that relies primarily on its advanced systems. Like its predecessor, the T-22, the T-47's primary armament are two kinetic cannons, as well as missile pods, though these pods are generally swapped out for extended fuel tanks. The T-47 easily keeps up with the T-22, and is only slightly slower, due to its heavier equipment and electronics suite. As a result T-47 is also not as nimble, and takes a full .8 seconds to turn 180 degrees.

While unable to mount shielding systems, the T-47 sports a stealth function, allowing it to shut off vital systems and manevure without tripping sensors. Heat generated during this time is contained in shielded heatsinks, which can be ejected after use. The T-47's electronics suite act as an extension to the sensors of its mother-ship, vastly extending the effective sensor range of its command ship with only a .25 second delay.

Overall, while extremely similar in performance to the T-22, the T-22 still remains the primary combat fighter due to its considerably lower developmental and maintenance costs.

Basically its a more expensive T-22 with bigger sensor suite

@vietmyke Low power use, radar/heat jamming? Sure that's fine with me.

T-47 will be added to the OP and credited.

seems where not getting the same giant wave of players like last time. Then again the RP isn't that old yet. So there is still hope.

@Sep for your perusing.

1st Lieutenant Sara "Twitch" Hawkins

Female - 25

Profession: Pilot
Nationality: Armani
Strengths:
  • Piloting: Sara is one of the sharpest pilots on board the Vitae- and isn't afraid to let anyone know it. She's clocked in countless hours of simulation and firsthand experience, and has qualified with the T-22, T-47, and AG-64 spacecrafts. She's memorized countless maneuvers, and can hum for you the exact tone a Serpent missile makes when it confirms radar lock.
  • Scrappy: Dexterous yet tough, Sara can handle her way around a fight, in and out of the cockpit.
  • Perceptive: Keen-eyed and sharp witted, Sara is excellent at noticing small details.

Weaknesses:
  • Impatient: Twitchy and jumpy, Sara is sometimes too eager to jump into a fight, and hates sitting still for too long.
  • Hot-Headed: Easily goaded and provoked, Sara is very adamant about her ideals and can be rather hard-headed.
  • Overconfident: While definitely talented, Sara sometimes exaggerates her capabilities and can get in over her head.

Personal Effects: A suitcase with her clothes, her father's old bomber jacket, a picture of herself and her brother, and a scale model of the Citadel on her desk.
Bio:
Born the youngest of two to a family of engineers on the Citadel, Sara had a tumultuous childhood. Forced to leave her home at a young age, Sara and her family fled to Earth as refugees from the Citadel. She had a tough time adapting to life on Earth, she lacked the innate brilliance of her brother, as well as his tendency to be in the background, Sara's feisty and aggressive personality often found her in fights in the school yards with other kid and bullies, who enjoyed to taunt her Armani heritage at her expense. Despite this, Sara graduated high school with relatively high marks, and followed her brother into The Mars Military Institute.

Military Academies, thankfully, were tuition free- exchanging education for much needed military service, which the decimated human forces were in sore need of, and Sara and her brother Samuel were quickly encouraged by their family to enroll and enlist. As usual, Sara's brother Samuel was quickly placed into the engineering track- a highly regarded position in the academy. Sara on the other hand, found her self on track for a pilot MOS. Finally falling into her own, Sara found that she excelled as a pilot, quickly sending herself to the top of her class. While she still received plenty of disciplinary action on the account of her attitude and hot-headedness, her simulator scores hushed any critics she had- with scores and simulations rivaling some of the most talented pilots of the Three Days War.

Upon graduating from the academy, her and her brother were introduced to the Genesis Project. While already in the later stages of construction and development, Samuel was signed on to help out with creation of the remaining Arks, while Sara was assigned to its security detail, where she flew patrols in space, fending off pirates from the valuable resource convoys, and scaring off merchant and commercial liners that strayed too close to the build site. Sara also participated in several scouting missions, and one military campaign into rogue space during which she earned her Ace.

Distinguishing herself from her peers, and having already been working with the Genesis Project, when news of the project went live, Sara was one of the members of the military assigned to a protection detail rather than fighting the Devastators in a last stand. Sara was assigned to the Vitae, while her brother was assigned to another Ark. Reluctantly leaving her comrades in arms behind, Sara boarded the Vitae and prepared to leave the Sol system.

@boomlover deviantart? google? Sometimes when one of my players posts a nice looking picture, I'll look up the picture's artist on deviantart and look at other pictures. That's how I found the scout ship too.
