Juana Perez

-Central City-

"Now, remember to stay safe, and look both ways before you cross the street," Mrs. Perez said, helping Juana fit her tool belt onto her waist. "And please try to get at least three meals a day, and..."

"Mama, I'll be fine!" Juana said, giving her mother a confident grin. "It won't be long 'til I have my first Pokémon at my side. I won't be out there alone for long, I promise."

Mrs. Perez fitted the buckle and stood up, before smiling back at her daughter. "I'm so proud of you; I'm sure you'll be able to handle yourself, míjita," she said, kissing both of Juana's cheeks.

Mr. Perez, Raticate, and Slurpuff looked on, an expression of prideful approval on Mr. Perez's countenance. Slurpuff couldn't help itself and scampered up to Juana, jumping on her and licking her with its sweet tongue.

"Augh! Slurpuff, I'm gonna go out smelling like meringue!" Juana laughed, attempting (and failing) to shield her face from the Fairy-type Pokémon's love. Slurpuff sat on Juana's chest and barked twice, before hopping off and giving her a friendly glance. Slurpuff then raced back towards Raticate. The black-furred rat chittered, though comically enough, tears were in its shimmering red eyes.

"Raticate, are you crying because I'm going or because there'll be nobody to feed you scraps when I'm gone?" Juana teased. Raticate gave Juana a very tsundere look of half-annoyance before letting the waterworks flow. "I'm kidding!" Juana said. "Mama, Papa, was Raticate always this emotional?"

"Raticate was crying at your cousin's wedding as well," Mr. Perez remarked. "Though we're not sure if it was because of the wedding itself, or the fact that the cake was so terrible. Who catered for Sophia's wedding again?"

"Some high-profile company from Castelia City. I swear, the signature ice cream is better than the pastry shops in that place..." Mrs. Perez remarked.

Raticate shuddered at the mention of that terrible cake. Who caters a wedding with fruitcake?

Mrs. Perez gave a glance of concern to Juana. "Are you sure you don't want to take either Slurpuff or Raticate with you? I'm sure they will help a lot..."

Juana shook her head. "Mama, if I'm going to do this, I'll have to learn on my own! As much as I love our Pokémon, there's always room for more in the family when it comes to them, isn't there?" she asked. "Besides, Slurpuff and Raticate listen to you much better than they do to me. Unless I bribe Raticate with candy."

Raticate turned beet red.

"You didn't forget anything, did you?" Mr. Perez asked. "Your Pokédex and Poké Ball?"

"Right here in the tool belt, Papa," Juana replied, patting the pouches on her hips.

"And you know you can stop by the Pokémarts or Pokémon Centers if you need help, right?" Mrs. Perez said.

"Mama, Papa, I'll be fine!" Juana said, before softening a bit. "Hugs?"

The family embraced.

"I love you, míjita," Mrs. Perez said. "Please contact us often!"

"If you ever need anything, just call," Mr. Perez agreed.

"Okay! I love you too!" Juana said, kissing both her parents before turning to head out the door. She put on her sneakers and walked out.

"Will she be alright?" Mrs. Perez asked.

"She's a strong young woman; she'll be fine," Mr. Perez replied.

Juana walked down the streets, ready to head out. She heard a faint rustling in the bushes. She walked over, flipping open her pouch in case that was a Pokémon and not some kid's stuck remote-controlled car.

A familiar magenta-colored fruit Pokémon with a white collar and a dented pale-green calyx emerged from the bushes, looking expectantly up at Juana.

"Oh, hey!" Juana said. "It's you!"

The Pokémon's yellow eyes smiled at Juana.

"I'm going out to journey across the region and learn about the world, or something," Juana explained, talking to the Pokémon. "I thought I'd run into you eventually."

The Pokémon looked up at Juana and settled in the bush as Juana talked. "Truth is I'm a little bit nervous," Juana said, her eyes darting around. "I'm going to be going pretty far away from home, aren't I? I hope you won't miss me too badly."

The Pokémon frowned, and its calyx drooped.

Juana brightened up. "Hmm... I haven't used my Poké Ball yet..." she remarked, pulling out the red-and-white capsule. "What do you say you tag along with me? I'm sure it'll be fun!"

The Pokémon bounced up and down, giving Juana a wide-mouthed smile.

However, before Juana could throw the ball, three gray-and-white starlings came down upon the berry Pokémon and started pecking furiously. The aroma of the Pokémon must have attracted predators.

"Hey! Get off!" Juana shouted, waving her hands furiously at the starlings. The birds squawked angrily at her; they flew at her face and pecked at her arms. Juana squealed in shock.

The berry Pokémon, seeing this long-time friend being pecked at by birds, shot out leaves that cut into the flock and drove them off.

Thankfully the birds didn't hurt Juana too badly; there were no puncture wounds, and the worst she got out of that was a bit disheveled.

But she was grinning at the berry Pokémon. "I take it that's a yes?"

She tossed the Poké Ball at the berry Pokémon, and the capsule opened up. In a flash of white light, the Pokémon disappeared inside, and without so much as a quiver, the ball clicked, and Juana picked up the capsule and peered inside. She could faintly make out the Pokémon she had befriended for so long, and her Pokédex buzzed in her pouch. She checked the Dex...

"Bounsweet, the Fruit Pokémon.

This Pokémon is always bouncing around energetically. Other Pokémon are attracted by its lively appearance and pleasant aroma."

"Bounsweet, huh?" Juana said. "Let's check you out..."

"Bounsweet. Ability: Oblivious. Moves recorded: Magical Leaf. Hasty nature," the display on the Dex said. "Female. Somewhat of a clown."

"So you're a goof too, huh?" Juana asked, winking at Bounsweet. "Is this some sorta symbolic hokey where we're kindred spirits and all that? I'd prefer we travel as friends; what do you think?"

Bounsweet winked back, its little tongue hanging out.

"Haha! Que linda," Juana remarked. She pressed the button on the capsule again, and Bounsweet popped out, before settling in Juana's arms. "Whoa, hey, pequeña, I've got to carry things in these arms," Juana said. Bounsweet nodded and hopped up on Juana's shoulder, balancing carefully on its tiny legs.

"I'd better go grab some more Poké Balls if I'm going to add 'mons to the team," Juana said to herself, hiking up her tool belt and striding towards the market.

Leisy Takigawa

— Feyhollow Town —

Surprised but too tired to protest when the blonde-haired boy walked away without another word, Leisy attempted a tired “”Bye,” before heading back to the main counter at the Pokemon Center.

“Can I get a blanket for my friend there?” Leisy asked, indicating the sleeping girl on the Center’s waiting chairs. “And a room for myself.”

“Sure thing, dearie,” the nurse at the counter said, reaching under a side counter and producing a fluffy white towel. Handing the large towel to the girl, the nurse then turned her attention to her computer. “Can I get your Pokedex please?”

“Of course. And thanks,” Leisy said, handing the device to the nurse before walking over to Vivian and draping the towel over her. “‘Cuz it gets cold at night,” she muttered to herself, returning to the counter to pick up her Pokedex and her new key card.

“Get a good rest, dear,” the nurse said, waving to the girl as she left. Leisy gave her a tired smile, unable to muster another response as she slunk to her room and promptly collapsed in her bed, asleep.

Shanae Eller

— Atana Mountain Range —

Shanae pulled a face at the man’s words, mind running through the pros and cons of such a purchase. “I don't know,” she said, trailing off uncertainly. A quick check of her trainer point count told her that she now had enough points to pick up another evolution stone, which would have been preferable compared to a new Pokemon, however strong.

New Pokemon were a struggle. Yes Shanae had a few years under her belt and yes she’d battled enough battles to get the hang of training her Pokemon, but she’d always hated swapping up her team. This dislike was the real reason Shanae had never wanted to exceed the six-pokemon carry limit that most businesses recommended. Catching a Pokemon with a Great Ball, however, basically guaranteed that she would mix up her team; no reason not to bond with the new Pokemon that was quite a bit stronger than the rest.

Sighing, Shanae handed over her Pokedex. “One Great Ball, please. ”

Juana Perez

-Central City-Riverbank-

Welp, that was embarrassing.

Juana learned two things that afternoon. One, what Trainer Points were, and two, that she didn't have enough for one measly capsule.

"Looks like we're going to have to wait on growing our little family, huh, Bounsweet?" Juana asked, playfully tapping the Pokémon's calyx. Bounsweet made a small, high-pitched undulating noise in response.

Juana figured she might as well do a little bit of exploring and see what other Pokémon were out there. She passed by the river; there was a Krabby and a Corphish duking it out, making bubbling sounds as their red claws clanged against each other, Vice Grip against Vice Grip. There were some Psyducks lying on their backs in the river, and a couple of Surskits chasing each other around those Psyducks.

"Real pretty, isn't it?" Juana remarked, sitting down on a grassy hill and watching the Psyduck float by. Just for fun, she decided to see if her Pokédex would register them.

"Hmm..." Juana hummed, taking a photograph of the Psyduck.

"Psyduck. ??? Pokémon. ??? Type," the Pokédex display reported.

"This is pretty fun," Juana said, attempting to catch a Surskit on camera.

"Surskit. ??? Pokémon. ??? Type."

The picture was kind of smudged due to how fast the photographed Surskit was moving, but it was legible enough for the Pokédex to register.

Juana turned around and spotted a Bunnelby warren. She peered into the rabbit hole, and a Bunnelby popped out, staring expectantly at her.

"Oh, hey there," she said, waving.

The Bunnelby quickly retreated into the hole.

Juana sat down again and flipped open her tool belt, pulling out her miniature notebook and a pencil. She spotted two sleeping Yungooses and a surveying Gumshoos in the grass. She found funny that a Ledyba had alighted upon the Gumshoos's head, and yet the Gumshoos did not move from its spot. That annoyed expression on Gumshoos's face did not budge an inch. Even as the Ledyba crawled on its face.

Juana had to really quickly snap a photograph.

"Gumshoos. ??? Pokémon. ??? type," the Pokédex displayed.

The Gumshoos was certainly much too strong for Juana to even consider taking on at this point, but it was fun to watch the way the Ledyba crawled all over the Stakeout Pokémon; the ladybug even crawled up to Gumshoos's nose and honked it a couple of times. And yet Gumshoos remained stoic.

Juana laughed and started to do a really quick drawing of the Ledyba and the Gumshoos. "Alright, don't move, ladybug..." Juana said, sketching quickly the gesture of the bug and its position on the Gumshoos's face.

She was interrupted, however, by an aggressive-sounding chirp coming from Bounsweet. Juana put her sketchpad down and saw that the Corphish that was fighting the Krabby earlier had bested its adversary and was now challenging Bounsweet to a fight. The Corphish and Bounsweet stared each other down.

Juana smirked and jumped up, startling a couple of smaller Pokémon as she did (including a Bunnelby). "You wanna go, craw-daddy?" she said, pointing a finger at Corphish.

She quickly retracted it when the Corphish snapped its pincer at her. "Oops, not at me!" she clarified.

Bounsweet rattled its calyx, turning it like a crank and giving the Corphish a taunting raspberry. Corphish raised its pincers into the air and frothed once more.

"Bounsweet, look out, it's attacking!" Juana warned, as Corphish came at Bounsweet with a Vice Grip.

Corphish grabbed Bounsweet by the calyx, but Bounsweet twisted its calyx around and around in an attempt to shake Corphish off. Corphish maintained its death grip upon Bounsweet's stem, but Bounsweet was having none of that and threw out a host of leaves surrounded by magic. The Magical Leaf attack shot towards Corphish, knocking it off Bounsweet's stem and sending it reeling back.

Bounsweet then bounced up and launched another set of Magical Leaves at Corphish. Corphish blocked with its claw, and countered with a Water Gun to Bounsweet's face. Bounsweet, however, resisted water, and took the Water Gun like it was nobody's business. Bounsweet tackled into Corphish, and sent the crawfish Pokémon scuttling backwards. The Corphish lost its balance and tripped on a rock, which in turn led it to fall backwards into the water.

Bounsweet puffed its cheeks up and huffed, before turning to Juana with a silly smile.

"Well," Juana remarked, "I trust you can handle things on your own?"

Bounsweet frowned and gestured towards itself with its calyx, before pointing to Juana.

The Corphish scuttled back out of the water, sopping wet and quite annoyed.

"Uh, Bounsweet, use Magical Leaf again!" Juana tried.

Bounsweet turned around and shot a leaf at Corphish, catching it in between the eyes. Corphish stared up at the leaf, and its eyes lolled into the back of its head and it fell over.

Bounsweet stood over Corphish in pride and bounded back over to Juana.

"I think that might be enough Pokémon watching for now, Bounsweet," Juana remarked, picking up her Pokémon. "Why don't we get you to a Center? I'm pretty sure there'll be other Trainers there."

Raven Heartwood - Feyhollow Town

@Dark Light@Lugubrious@Zarkun

Raven looked around once more. Well, on indication of his friends showing up anytime soon. Well that was a shame. "Well I can't wait around forever you know, I'd got more friends to meet and battles to win. Though I actually haven't won any yet. Something that must be resolved!" Raven said energetically, talking to his Pokemon who quickly took places on his body. This time Weedle seemed to find his shoulder the perfect place to be while Oliver took his customary spot underneath Raven's hat. "To adventure!" Raven proclaimed loudly and went to do just that. A little walk about town first to see if anything interesting was going on and then perhaps a foray into the woods or a trip to another town. It didn't take long at all for him to be drawn by some sort of music. A few turns here and there and he found himself part of what seemed to be a growing audience. A rather mature looking girl and a scruffy looking guy were already here, listening to the musician who seemed unaware of their presence. Rather than interupting the moment Raven decided to wait and watch, after all his Weedle and Oliver both seemed to be enjoying the music as well.

Too enthralled in his play to notice to Olivie's presence for the time being, the sincerely musical dude didn't skip a beat. Admittedly, the girl couldn't boast of a particularly developed musical sense, but this particular melody stirred whatever poetic inclinations she had. Its remarkable flow and mellow resonance, at first take comfortable and pleasant, carried a slight undercurrent of melancholy. Just from listening, Olivie could tell that this distinct brand of music must have a rich history. Of course, as she thought about the song more and more, she came to realize that Gespenst had the right idea. No matter how nice Tommy's trumpeteering sounded, niceness lay outside her calling; it was her imperative to be tough, grow strong, and win. Lazing around in the precious hours of morning, motionlessly soaking in a guy's tunes, completely stymied this mission. Still prickled by a touch of the jazz's wistfulness, Olivie gave a sigh and turned to her right to retrace her steps.

Of course, her Cacnea and Karrablast blocked the way, but beyond them stood an individual that she, seemingly as oblivious as the trumpet-player, had failed to take account of. A look of surprise flitted across her features; she'd thought her little listen-in had been a clandestine affair. To find out that she'd been not the observer, but merely a link in the chain of observees, kept her startled for a second or two before her feelings turned to anger. She cast an irate glare at the spiky-haired blond, noting that his eyes, following in the footsteps of so many before him, were not where they should be. In an instant, Olivie became informed of the entire scenario; she'd seen it played out before, the same old record spinning on the player. Not that the gaze of some rando bothered her—she didn't care so much about that at all. Only sissy girls act demure, went her philosophy. It takes guts to be confident but not shameless or bitchy. The problem at hand was that, like pretty much anyone, Olivie didn't care so much for being sneaked up on.

Still wearing a mask of anger, she held up a hand with the index finger extended in the manner of someone chiding a ne'er-do-well or confronting a bully. She opened her mouth to speak before realizing that she might disturb Tommy, so she made a point to take about a dozen steps forward to both put distance between herself and the trumpeter and to close it between herself and her admirer. In only a few seconds she, without altering her pose at all, stood a couple feet away from the not-so-subtle onlooker. ”Hey!” she belted out at last. ”You with the mop on your head! You cruisin' for a bruisin' or something? Only idiots try and snoop around while someone's back's turned. 'Specially someone like me!”

She pounded her fists together and cracked her knuckles. As it was the first time she'd done so this morning, a good round of crackles sounded out, and her party took them as signals. Around her, her Pokemon adopted poses of varying degrees of ferocity. Verrine's slitted orange pupils regarded Azerus calmly but dangerously, harboring an air of tranquil fury. Gespenst, having already extended threatening spines from his clublike arms, swung them from side to side in an idly threatening manner. Buck, meanwhile, attempted to screw his pudgy face into a grimace, but one could hardly tell by looking at the goofy-looking gopher that he had anything remotely close to malicious in mind. After affirming that her companions were giving Azerus the full treatment, Olivie took note of the intruder's pokeball. An idea took hold in the brunette's mind. Knowing her new acquaintance's weakness, she crossed her arms tight beneath her chest to squish her bosom together before saying, ”Alright, buddy! If ya wanna watch so bad, how's about the two of us have our Pokemon throw down? We need a little practice and you look like perfect fodder! ...You're not gonna chicken out, are ya?” She narrowed her eyes at Azerus. All the while, Raven's presence completely escaped her notice.

Vivian

Feyhollow Poke'center

Vivian let out a big yawn as she finally awoke, feeling much more rested. Her phone buzzed away repeatedly on the floor beside her, muffled by her bag.
Falling asleep unexpectedly had caused Vivian to awaken with a slight moment of startlement and confusion, she clung to her unfamiliar blanket as she looked around regaining her bearings and recalling last nights events. She had never woken up in a Pokemon center before.
A small frown caught her face as her friends were nowhere to be seen. She reaches down for her phone. 20 missed calls and messages.
Vivian quickly answered the buzzing device. "Hello." she calls over the phone, curious yet polite. Vivian's face proceeded to pale as she listens to the voice on the other side. "Alright mother I will be right there!" Vivian replies with a worried urgency.

"ELLY, LEISY!."
Viv calls out as she begins searching for her friends. They were supposed to be here."Where are you?"

( Vivian got an urgent phone call and now needs her friends to begin a mission.)

Juana Perez

-Central City, Pokémon Center-

Juana entered the Pokémon Center and pulled out Bounsweet's Poké Ball. "I think you're gonna have to go back in there, just for the treatment," Juana remarked.

Bounsweet looked as if it was shrugging. Juana couldn't tell; fruits don't have shoulders.

Returning Bounsweet to its ball, Juana handed the capsule to the nurse, and sat on one of the couches, twiddling her thumbs. She decided to check out the Pokédex again. There were a few options: check Pokémon statistics, check the index itself... And there was a menu option for the organization index.

Juana considered. She liked the rush of Pokémon battling, and League Prime appealed to that. That being said, taking this journey on with friends, as per the Helping Hand guild's mission statement, would be much more expansive on her worldview. And besides. Isn't everything better with pals?

"I'll think about it later," Juana said with a shrug. She looked out the window and jumped. The Corphish Bounsweet just fought was peering into the windowsill. Juana noticed that the Magical Leaf was still stuck in its carapace, in between its eyes. Corphish was giving Bounsweet the stink eye. Or was it another challenge?

Juana walked up to the window and banged on it once, lightly so that she wouldn't disrupt the Center's other patrons. She gave Corphish a mischievous grin.

Corphish retaliated by thumping the window with one of its pincers.

Juana bopped the window again, prompting Corphish to retaliate once more. This went on, for about twenty three seconds, until an older gentleman barked, "Would you stop that?"

Juana and Corphish stared at the man.

"Oh. Um. Sorry," Juana said, quickly sitting back down and burying her hands in between her legs. She lowered the brim of her cap.

As she waited for Bounsweet, Juana tapped her foot impatiently, looking up and around at the amenities of the Center. She had a passing thought about needing to use the restroom. She leaned back in her seat and peeked at Corphish's window. Corphish had gone, but likely not very far.

Azerus Jr

Feyhollow Pokecenter

Azerus's pursuit ended shortly after it begun, only reaching the other side of the building. Suddenly stopping he was forced to quickly consider how he was going to approach this woman. She seemed to be drawn to the music, he was no stranger to that, however be it the players skill or simple fact it was not a style he played, he made the subconscious decision to dislike it.

With thoughts teetering about his head he had began daydreaming, then... BUSTED!

...

Azerus responded to the bravado threats with a nonchalant silence. He simply bowed his head slightly as a guilty smirk slowly crawled across his lips. Still, his eyes never found hers, instead his gaze rolled across the floor and the eager Pokemon.

Judging by his composure and posture he seemed to find humor and joy in instilling such a reaction. His cool calm quiet demeanour sat at opposite to her boisterous aggression. In a round-about way things fell accordingly and the difficulty of conversation was taken from him.
He lets out a soft short chuckle as he raises an arm and points a finger at the Cacnea.

That one, let's go! He flicks his hair back and then draws a pokeball from his belt. A small flash of light later a Roggenrola stood before him. "Ladies first" he says feigning a gentlemanly bow. Meanwhile behind the calm facade his mind raced with calculative worry and uncertainty, as he found no confidence in his thoughts or attempts at strategy.

Contrary to what it seemed, Tommy was fully aware of the fact that he'd drawn people in with his music, including one Brunette who seemed determined to come across as only a hard ass with a pair of fighting gloves. To see someone who had been so kind flip a full 180, well, it was sad. However, as the song finished up, she had walked away and so Tommy played a few random jazz notes, making sure the tuning slide hadn't moved during the song, as it sometimes did, before setting the instrument down and leaning to see where'd she'd gone. And it was a short look, as it seemed she was simply taking care of someone she didn't appreciate following her unnoticed. Poor bastard doesn't know what he just signed on for. Stepping away, he waves at the third of the three on lookers, acknowledging the young man's presence before sliding a jacket on, putting his trumpet in it's case and closing the window up and heading out of his room with Amica on his shoulder, going to see if he could find his traveling companion.

Tora Azure

- Central City || Outskirts -

The air was clean and easy to breathe as a tall woman sat comfortably in her seat beside the window in the back right of the white shiny limousine. Sparkling brilliantly with the sunlight as they traveled through the farmland portion of Central City. The bustling of the city fading a bit to be replaced by the gentle breeze and chirps of the bird Pokemon. She could see a few Rattata and Bidoof's running about and playing in the fields. Some Oddish and Bellsprout happily in the sunshine. Today was another trip to her grandparent's farm since her parents are once again too busy to deal much with her. Since they found a proper suitor, they wished her to be in the best condition, so she was visiting a little early. In order to relax and be properly healthy during the meeting arrangement.

The woman with her long black hair gingerly shifting at the wind fluttering in from the window, ocean blue eyes slightly glazed over in thought as she absently stared outside at the green fields, pale skin slightly illuminating from the sunshine that managed to touch it, and her lips curved in a slight frown, gave a soft sigh. Although she was happy to return to this beloved place, the reason behind it didn't particularly bring joy into her heart. It was tiring, going day by day at the whim of her parents will. Greeting people she didn't know with such politeness that kept one thinking of sheer poise, but kept them at a arms length. Spending a lifetime as a pretty delicate doll. The obedient daughter. Although she had never had to lift a finger for much of anything, she still felt tired.

Eyes flickering to a young boy walking about with a Pokemon, Lillipup, perhaps about to start on his journey. Another sigh escaped the young woman's lips. The high-class raised woman named Tora couldn't help but wonder what it would have been like if she was born normally. Regular parents, normal lifestyle, start off on a Pokemon Journey at a young age like many youth do... She was envious of such freedom. Of course, she loved her parents dearly, they just wanted what was best for her. Perhaps they are right in saying that her body couldn't handle a journey.... but wasn't what she wanted mattered?

Snapping out of her thoughts as the limousine slowed to a stop in front of small little farm, beautiful and relaxing. Tora took a deep breath as the driver stepped out, walking around and opening the door for the young woman. The man wore the standard wear for a butler, he was a older gentleman with sleek grey hair and a neatly groomed gray mustache. Bowing respectfully, the man gave a slight kind smile, as he glanced at her before closing his eyes to avoid looking directly at her.

"We have arrived Mademoiselle Azure." The old butler said in a soft if slightly gruff voice, holding out a hand to help her exit the vehicle. While his other hand held a light blue umbrella to help shield her from the sun.

"You have my deepest gratitude, Ser Jarvis. I look foreword in our next interaction." Tora responded with a kind smile as she accepted his hand and slipped out of the vehicle. Wearing a pretty Spinarak spun silk white sundress. White gloves cover her hands up all the way to her elbows. A light brown sunhat on top of her head with a blue ribbon. Wearing light blue heels that she had to take a moment to regain her balance, soon though she was waving farewell to her butler before jerking up as she saw a elderly couple walk toward her. With a bright smile, Tora quickly moved toward them with her arms outstretched.

"Mama! Papa! It is such a delight to see you once more! I have missed you so!" Tora exclaimed cheerily as she embraced them both. They chuckled and returned the embrace to their granddaughter.

Papa laughed and patted her back, a sly grin upon his older face. "Awe yes, and we've missed you too. But, I'm sure you won't stick around these ol' folks for too long. We've got a present for you." he hummed, chuckling as Mama lightly elbowed him playfully as he seemed to be a bit too gleeful at Tora's confused expression.

"What do you mean Papa?" Tora asked curiously.

With a smile to one another, the elderly couple revealed some items behind their sleeves. Her grandmother pulled out a set of clothes, much less classy and pretty compared to her sundress. Consisting of a backpack tank top, a pair of jeans, boots, a hoodie and a pair of black gloves. While her grandfather had a bluish pokedex and a pokeball held out to her. It took a moment for Tora to recognize this, her eyes blinking curiously before slowly widening in pure shock turning into joy.

".....You're giving me this? For my Pokemon Journey?" Tora whispered in shock, but couldn't help a smile of sheer happiness at the mere glimmer of hope of this possibility.

Papa nodded and gave a soft kind smile. "Yes... We know for such a long time, you dreamed on traveling on your own journey. You're plenty old enough now and you should be able to make your own decisions. We don't wish to stop you from that. Of course, you do not have to do this, we are just letting you have the option. We only wish you to be happy with whatever choice you make. Of course... we'll keep this a secret from your parents. For as long as we can at least." he chuckled.

"Just be safe." Mama added with a smile.

Tora blinked a little more before smiling brightly, sudden life filling her blue eyes as her hands reached and took the items. "You have my deepest thanks! Mama, Papa... My apologies... But I'd like to start as soon as possible!" she said excitedly but her grandparents just laughed.

"No worries dearie!" Mama said with a smile.

"Which Pokemon are you going to catch? Perhaps you should start with a Ponyta or a Stantler?" Papa asked.

With a smile, Tora shook her head. "Thank you, but I already have the perfect Pokemon in mind." she answered.

After getting changed into her clothes, packing her backpack, getting some pokefood recipes from her grandmother and getting the supplies she needed together, she bid her grandparents farewell before heading out into the fields. Raising a hand, she called out to the one and only friend she always enjoyed visiting here.

"Archie!" Tora called, and almost instantly, a ball of reddish orange and gold fluff barreled out of the tunnel and charged right toward the tall woman. A Growlithe cheerfully nuzzled against Tora's legs and barked happily at her.

Chuckling Tora knelt down and stroked Archie's head, running her slender fingers through the light colored fluff that rested on top of the Growlithe's head. "Hello my friend. I am glad to see you are doing well.. I have something to ask you.... Today... I'm finally going on my Pokemon Journey. My Mama and Papa decided to surprise me with a pokedex and pokeball. It's exciting... it won't be easy I know... But I'm eager to start. Do something for me. I wanted to ask, if you wanted to come with me? You don't have to of course Archie, but... if I was going to start my journey with anyone, it would be with you." she said softly, slight worry bubbling in her chest as she pulled out her one single pokeball from her pocket.

Archie however was quick to make a decision as she lept up to press her paws against the new trainer's shoulders and pressed her nose against the red and white orb. Soon, turning into light and getting sucked into the tiny ball. It barely moved before dinging to signify a successful capture. Taking out her Pokedex as it buzzed, the tall woman flipped it open to listen to it chatter on her capture.

"Growlithe, the Puppy Pokemon. It has a brave and trustworthy nature, loyal to its trainer. It fearlessly stands up to bigger and stronger foes by biting or barking. Nature: Adamant. Ability: Intimidate." Tora couldn't help but chuckle as she stood up and let Archie back out.

"You always make quick decisions... alright, thank you Archie. Come on. I don't want to stay in Central City too long. It won't take Mother and Father too long to discover me missing. But I want to join up with the Helping Hand Guild before starting our travels. Let's go!" she cheered, earning a eager bark from Archie as the Pokemon ran around her legs as they headed back to the heart of Central City.

Juana Perez

-Central City-Pokémon Center (Exterior)-

"Your Pokémon have been restored to full health. Hope to see you again!"

Juana pressed the button on her Poké Ball, and Bounsweet popped out, rustling its leaves and smiling at her.

"Thanks, Nurse," Juana said, striding out the Pokémon Center. Bounsweet shot a silly look at the grumpy Corphish as Juana passed by it. Corphish fumed and scuttled off towards the river.

"Why don't we take a little walk around town? It'll do us a bit of good, I bet," Juana remarked. Bounsweet concurred with a happy cry.

Bounsweet jumped down and hopped alongside Juana as she made her way through the dusty streets. She greeted people politely, with varying degrees of success. Some kids really liked Bounsweet, thinking it was cute and that it smelled good.

"We really need to run along now, actually," Juana said, jabbing a thumb down the road as a couple of younger girls patted Bounsweet's stem. "As much as I'm sure Bounsweet appreciates the attention."

Bounsweet gave Juana a look that said, No, no, this is fine, I quite enjoy this. We can stay a little longer.

Juana shrugged and folded her arms. "Okay, you can keep stroking Bounsweet for a bit longer. I'll just wait on the curb, 'kay?"

Juana pulled out her cell phone and took a selfie with the happy fruit Pokémon in the background. She texted her parents the photograph and said that her journey was off to a pretty good start.

As it turned out, Slurpuff had gotten a hold of her father's cell phone, which explained why the ensuing response photograph was A. incredibly blurry and B. covered in what appeared to be pink, stringy fluff and meringue.

"Glad to see everything's holding up back home," Juana remarked. She snapped her fingers towards Bounsweet, and the Pokémon bounded back towards her. "Hey, you kids have a good day, 'kay?" Juana said to the girls, before turning back towards the street and continuing her little constitutional.

As Juana walked, she spotted another passing Trainer, a tall, long-haired woman in a black tank with a Growlithe by her side. This was Tora. If we're being completely honest here, Growlithe made Bounsweet a little uncomfortable, it being a Fire-type and Bounsweet being a Grass-type and all, but Juana held an opposite sentiment.

"Bounsweet, look, another Trainer! We're probably not fixing for a battle right out of the gate, but maybe it'd be nice to get to know somebody else walking the Pokémon walk, eh?" Juana remarked, putting her hands on her hips. Luckily, Juana's confidence assuaged Bounsweet's nervousness. Dogs don't eat giant pink mangosteens with faces, do they?

Juana approached Tora and waved. "Hey, that's a pretty cool Pokémon you've got there. Or, well, should I say 'hot,' since it's a Fire-type?" she said with a smirk, knowing full well how absolutely terrible that pun was. "You're a Trainer, right? So am I, though I just started out today. You live around here?"

Leisy Takigawa

— Feyhollow Town —

A loud knocking sound at the door roused Leisy from her sleep. Sitting up, the girl slid off her bed and walked over to the door, stretching out her stiff joints. Must have slept funny on the bed, she thought, frowning as she realized that she’d been too tired to change or even crawl into bed. Instead, she’d simply collapsed on top in an inelegant heap.

Opening the door, Leisu found herself face-to-face with a Pokemon Center nurse. “Good morning! Leisy Takigawa, correct?” The nurse asked, checking the touchpad in her hands for confirmation again. “Your friend, Vivian, is looking for you in the lobby. She appears to be quite distressed. I can put the charges on your tab for you—you already signed in with your Pokedex, so that’s all taken care of.”

“Would you be able to?” Leisu asked, eyes wide as she stopped rummaging her bags for her Pokedex that she’d just carelessly stuffed in the night before. “Thanks so much!” she called to the nurse as she took off for the lobby. Skidding to a stop, Leisy looked around for her friend.

Shanae Eller

— Atana Mountain Range —

A small frown sat on Shanae’s face as she walked away from the small shack that was known as a pit stop, her eyes trained intensely on the item in her hands—the Great Ball she’d just expended all her Trainer Points to purchase. An investment that she hadn't ever planned on making, the Pokeball seemed slightly different now that it was solid her hands rather than plastered as an image on some wall advertising Poke Corp services.

It’s quite small, Shanae thought, lips curving up slightly at the edges. Wonder if the Ultra Ball will be even smaller?

Looking to her side, Shanae found the bored blue eyes of her Aaron staring up at her. “Oh don’t give me that, Turris,” the woman laughed, hooking the new navy-red ball on her belt. “I’m allowed to act like a kid sometimes!”

The Aaron kept his silence, settling instead for an eye-roll.

“Hey! I saw that!”

Tora Azure

- Central City -

Tora smiled cheerfully as she walked beside Archie, who was flicking her eyes all about, watching for any possible signs of something interesting or dangerous. Gingerly adjusting so she could slip on the black sweatshirt hoodie, she allowed the hood to slide off for now. The sun wasn't too hot and she shouldn't have to worry about being looked for just yet. It was just so exciting! She befriended her first Pokemon for her journey, granted it was one she already knew but still. They were in it together through thick or thin. First, she'd join the Helping Hand Organization then move on to the next town. Good thing she has a map with her. With Archie's help, they shouldn't get lost at least.

Hearing Archie give a soft growl, Tora paused her step as she saw a girl approach her, giving a friendly wave in greeting. The fire type bounced in front of her trainer to stand in between the two trainers. Fur puffing and bristling and giving a deep growl. Barking and looking at the stranger and the Grass Type Pokemon.

"Archie it is quite alright. Calm down." Tora said sweetly with a smile. Her dog like Pokemon glanced back at her before looking at the two, nose twitching as she sniffed in examination before obiediently moving to sit beside Tora's feet.

Turning to look at the girl, Tora gave a friendly smile, blinking a little as she took a moment to process the 'joke' before giving a soft chuckle. Why, thank you. You're Bounsweet looks quite 'sweet' as well." the tall woman spoke with a amused smile before giving a slight curtsy motion.

"Salutations fair Mademoiselle. It is a pleasure to meet with another trainer. My name is... Tora. I am also just starting, was just going to make a quick stop to a Organization before moving on." Tora spoke as she introduced herself before pausing as she took a moment on how to answer if she lived here.

"Mhmm not really, I just came to visit my Grandparents who live in the farm part of Central City. They surprised me with a Pokedex and a Pokeball. What about you? Do your heir from this lovely city?" Tora asked curiously.

Juana Perez

-Central City-

"Nice to meet you, Tora; I'm Juana. Juana Perez," Juana said, beaming at Tora. Tora would notice that Juana, while speaking, shifted around a lot and yet managed to articulate her dialogue clearly. "I actually do live in Central City, though we moved here from the Unova region a few years ago. "See, my parents run a candy shop in town, and we live in the attic of that building; it's a pretty good business, I mean, I see lots of kids coming in and all that..." Juana noted that she was starting to run off at the mouth.

"Anyway, that's partially the reason why I'm carrying a tool belt. I help my parents out in the shop and I gotta keep my skills up, huh?" Juana gestured towards her belt. "I've actually known Bounsweet here for a while, she's just now decided to accompany me."

Juana folded her arms. "You're joining an organization too, huh? I was kinda torn between the two organizations, but I'm leaning towards Helping Hand. What about you?"

Juana knelt to Growlithe. "Also, um, does Growlithe mind being pet?"

The Benevolent Beauty Turned Boisterous Bruiser
versus
Rebellion's Turbulent, Reserved Tempest

With growing irritation, Olivie noted that the towheaded mischief-maker wasn’t meeting her eyes still. Fortunately for the condition of his face, he seemed to be examining her Pokemon, but the fact remained that he wasn’t giving the girl much respect. Be it because of an overabundance of ego or a scarcity of seriousness, the dude just wouldn’t take her seriously, and figuring this out riled the brown-haired brawler up. So what if he met her rambunctiousness with flippant disregard? If he accepted her challenge –which he most certainly would- her Pokemon would be knocking some sense into him. Or at least, they’d be schooling his Pokemon on what kind of trainer attitude made for great fighters.

In a sudden turn of events, Azerus produced a quiet sniggle before extending an indicatory index finger at Gespenst. The Cacnea only narrowed his eyes slightly, still swinging around his arms, whilst the young man laid out his challenge. His trainer, meanwhile, grinned darkly. [color=954535]”You’re on, flyboy.[/ color] The two watched as Azerus released his challenger: a puny little pebble with a ponytail. Just seeing it made Olivie laugh aloud. ”Pff! Look at it!” she implored her grass-type, crossing her arms behind her head in a relaxed manner. ”Better to throw that thing than try and attack us with it.” After taking a quick look around, she confirmed that the empty lot next to the Pokemon Center offered enough space for an impromptu beatdown. For a moment her thoughts drifted to breakfast; she’d awoken with her companions before dawn, after all, and her rush for a battle royale at sunup stood in the way of any meal. She made a mental note to get a bite to eat after handing this guy a humiliating defeat, guessing that the fight would work as an appetizer. Her attention returned to the moment when Azerus bowed mockingly and offered her the first attack. With zero hesitation Olivie would seize it. ”Thanks! You’ll regret it when we kick your ass into next week!”

Bruiser Olivie would like to battle!

Full of gleeful, almost malicious eagerness to wreak havoc against his opponent, Gespenst uttered a guttural gurgling noise as he hopped forward. His trainer, feeling much the same, uncrossed her arms to throw a hand toward Azerus’ stony partner, and shouted, ”Energy Ball!” Instantly, Gespenst raised his arms above his head, and from the bottom of each end extended several long, sharp spines. In this position, Gespenset fell forward, planting himself face-first in the ground and burying his arm needles in the ground to use as support. Upon the flower crown atop his head, which thanks to the comfortable environment in which he lived was shriveled and orange, a green energy began to gather. Streaks of emerald light flowed into the orb through his body, swelling it until it was almost as large as his own body. Then, with no further ado, the Energy Ball blasted forth to cannon into the Roggenrola (3/6 EP).

Shanae Eller

— Atana Mountain Range —

While she may have been slightly annoyed at how stuffy her jacket had been as she climbed the first few meters and how puffy the jacket itself was, all those negative thoughts about the article of clothing went out of Shanae’s head as her feet started hitting snow instead of rock and dirt. A glance toward her side told her that Turris really was a steel-type Pokemon as the Aron was happily trudging along, completely oblivious as to how cold his surroundings were.

“Quiet morning, huh Turris?” Shanae asked, sinking another foot into icy snow and applauding herself mentally for buying the thick pair of snow boots that were now fitted snugly on her feet. She didn't even want to think about her cold her toes would have been without the thick layers that were industrial snowshoes and fluffy socks over fluffy socks. “Feel cold at all?”

Turris gave his trainer a blue-eyed stare as if to say, (“Not particularly. Have you noticed the steel plates, or have those slipped from your mind as well?”)

“Oh, I’m hurt!” Shanae joked, feigning a stab wound. “And here I thought I meant something to you!”

The Aron rolled his eyes at his trainer, picking up the pace a little. Despite his short limbs, the Pokemon’s speed over mountainous terrain was not to be looked down on.

Tora Azure

Listen to the younger girl chatter, Tora watched her with interest. It was a bit to get used to someone referring her a little informally compared back at home, but that was good. Meant she could blend in a little. Plus... The tall woman couldn't think of a time she ever spoken with someone who wasn't connected to the family or some rich business family that her parents wanted her to formally socialize with. Yes, this may be the first time speaking to a regular happy person. It was a little exciting. "Yeah, my Grandparents run a farm. I've learned a bit about taking care of Pokemon from them. So I also will attempt to continue the skills they taught me." she spoke with a smile before nodding a little at the mention of the Helping Hand Organization.

"Coincidentally, I was also thinking of the Helping Hand Organization. I'm not really one for battling. I rather be a Pokemon Breeder then the regular Trainer. Helping instead of fighting." Tora spoke before watching Juana kneel down in front of Archie, who's nose slightly twitched as the orange furred pokemon sniffed the unfamiliar trainer.

"Yeah she likes pets. Archie just likes acting tough at first towards strangers. She's a sweetheart otherwise. It's funny, another coincidence, I've also known Archie here for a long time. I just asked her if she wanted to come on this journey with me, and she seemed happy to." The black haired woman chuckled, her Growlithe snorting in response in a 'oh whatever' matter before gingerly wagging her fluffy tail at Juana and giving a bark. The fire pokemon pressed her head against a hand, demanding said promised pets.

Tora smiled before looking at Juana thoughtfully. It probably wouldn't hurt to ask this fine young lady to walk to the Organizations together. Since they were apparently going to the same way. "Say, Mademoiselle Perez, would you like to accompany us to Organization HQ's? Since we will be traveling the same direction?" Tora asked, softly. Her voice crystal and elegant. Poised and trained to be clear yet ever so polite. Though, she found it quite cute when Juana seemed to shuffle when she spoke. Perhaps trying to have a clear voice and avoid giving away a distinct dialect. Though Tora wouldn't mind it. It would be a breath of fresh air really.

Juana Perez

Juana itched under the fire Pokémon's chin. "Breeding, huh?" she asked. "Sounds pretty cool! Your grandparents must run a pretty tight establishment," she remarked. "I like battling myself, but I really only want to do it if the Pokémon themselves want to. I dunno, I've heard quite a few misconceptions. Especially growing up in the Unova region." Juana thought back to the urges of the radical Team Plasma. She heard that their good intentions were a thin veneer for world domination, and that there was a splinter in the group between those who were activists that genuinely believed in their ideals and those who were literally just criminals. "But hey, to each their own, right?" Juana scratched behind Growlithe's ears.

"Huh. So Archie here joined you of her own volition? Nice! Funny that our first-Pokémon experiences are so similar." Bounsweet nodded as if in agreement.

Juana got up. "Hey, yeah, we should totally head over together! Maybe we could hit a Poké Mart afterwards; I'm meaning to pocket another Poké Ball and fill this thing out." Juana gestured to her Pokédex. "And I think I might have enough... 'Trainer Points...' to do so." Juana paused. "Oh yeah, you can just call me Juana if you'd like."

Juana comically stuck one leg out towards the road and beamed at Tora. She started walking. "So what's it like on your folks' farm?" she asked. "Do they, like, herd Mareep or Skiddo or what?"

Shanae Eller

— Atana Mountain Range —

Soon enough the cool breeze that billowed down from the mountaintops and through Shanae’s hair had developed bitterly cold bites that nipped at the woman as she progressed upwards, feet now sinking the first footprints into fresh snow. Turris kept pace slightly ahead of his trainer, a blue eye darting back every so often in concern for the human. Flesh and bone proved less useful in his native terrain—he knew that. However, it wouldn’t take long before they reached the safety of the cave cavern that Turris had last seen years ago.

Shanae’s legs moved as quickly as she could manage up the mountain. The thinning air was less of an issue at the moment than the bitter cold that would soon materialize in the form of gentle but unrelenting snowfall toward the top of the mountain. Luckily, Shanae knew for a fact that she hadn’t made it that the far last time she was here, nor did she hope to today. Today, all she wanted to test herself as a trainer, warm back up to the concept of braving harsh terrains that challenged the mind and body.

“Thank god,” Shanae said with relief as Turris stopped in his tracks, diverging from his path straight up and leading the way down a side road that, Shanae knew, would in time reveal the hidden opening of a cavern—the cavern that Shanae had stumbled upon by chance over five years ago. “Oh what would I do without you, Turris?” the trainer joked, following her Pokemon with rapid steps.

Cillian Weiss

— Feyhollow Town —

Exiting the diner, Cillian smothered a large burp with a hand before looking towards Damian. “Those were some mean waffles. Gonna note this place down in my head for reference,” he said, looking towards the Pokemon at his side. “You both full now?”

Hazmat agreed quickly with a happy “Char,” which Cillain pretty much knew to expect at this point. The Charmander almost seemed to have a catchphrase there—one that would work throughout all his later evolutions as well, not that Charizards bellowed their name so much as simply bellowed. On the other hand, Kelby attempted to keep his usual silence but was this time interrupted by a loud “hic.”

“Hiccups, Kelb?” Cillian asked, eyes dancing with mirth. The Mudkip shot his trainer a dirty glare that lost its impact when another light “hic” followed, this time clearer than the last.

Laughing, Cillian searched his bag for his bottle of water. “Here you are,” he said, opening and handing it to the Mudkip who received it with a nasty glare before upending half its contents into his open mouth. “Whoa—thirsty much?” Cillian joked, taking the offered cup back.

The Mudkip responded with another glare that was, of course, interrupted by a loud “hic.”

Tora Azure

- Central City || In front of Organizations League Prime and The Helping Hand Guild-

Smiling a little bit more brightly, nodding in agreement to this girl's words. It was nice to meet a considerate trainer who thought of her Pokemon. Although Tora herself probably wouldn't battle so much, well beside if Archie wanted to and the fire Pokemon... well, had a fiery personality so that was possible. Probably would end up accepting challenges other trainers made. "Mhmm yes, there seems to be a few moral theories people have been talking about. But I don't mind as long as the Pokemon are okay with it." she said, watching as Archie's fluffy tail wagged faster as she happily took in the attention. Leaning into the touch as the eager puppy Pokemon demanded more loving attention.

"Splendid! I might get a Pokeball as well, if I have enough Trainer Points. Never know what Pokemon we'll run to on our journey." Tora said, smiling in amusement at Juana's amusing display before starting to walk beside the younger girl. Archie soon bounding along beside Tora before looking at the Bounsweet curiously. Bounding closer to the Grass Pokemon and following the sweet smelling fruit, lightly pawing at the leaves curiously.

At the questioning of her grandparents farm, Tora took but only a moment to think about it. "Awe yes. They have quite a few Pokemon. Mareep for wool, Milktank for milk, Ponyta, Skiddo, Stantler for rides for those who need to rent one for travel. My grandfather usually handles all the farm Pokemon, while my grandmother usually cooks up Pokemon food to suit each type of Pokemon's tastes. Also giving traveling trainer's Pokemon a refreshing massage to rejuvenate them for their travels. And the trainers if need be of course. I always loved visiting their farm and learning from them, and I hope to continue the skills I've learned from them on my journey." Tora explained, a bit more passionately as she went on, ocean blue eyes sparkling as the still thrilled joy she experienced when she discovered that she was really starting her Pokemon Journey.

Soon enough, Tora could see the two Organization HQ's buildings on either side of the street. League Prime, the Organization for those who love to battle, and The Helping Hand Guild who more wished to help each other out. Turning to smile at Juana, Tora tilted her head curiously to the side. "Seems we are here, have you made your decision, Madem..... Lady Juana?" Tora asked, managing to correct herself in dropping the quite formal 'Mademoiselle Perez' but still held some sort of formality speech. It was difficult. She was unused to referring anyone a bit informal besides her grandparents. Though perhaps she may need to drop it, as it was perhaps considered odd? Maybe not? She didn't know.
