"Alright!" Tora smiled as she followed after the younger girl. Archie giving a yip as the fire Pokemon bounded after them. Pausing as she saw the Corphish with a bunch of Krabby. Juana instructed the tall woman to stay as she went to assist the water Pokemon, though Tora took a step after the young woman and her Pokemon.
"Be careful Lady Juana, Bounsweet!" Tora called after them. Archie growling and glaring, ready to leap into battle. The young woman stroked the Growlithe's head soothingly. Bounsweet had a type advantage and be safer with the river. Archie however could get seriously hurt. That of course didn't particularly stop the puppy Pokemon, who seemed just as ready to take on all those Krabby.
Thankfully, Juana and Bounsweet were able to handle it, saving the Corphish from a further nasty scuffle. Tora breathed a sigh of relief, smiling as it looked like Juana caught the water Pokemon before letting it out to examine it. The Corphish seemed to have quite a personality. When Juana walked back over and spoke, Tora tipped her head before nodding a little.
"That's quite alright. To answer you, yes I do. It be better if I had potions for more serious injuries or head to a Pokemon center, but I'll take a look." Tora said, stepping closer and bending her knees a bit to be more at eye level with the Corphish. Giving the water Pokemon a friendly calm smile.
"Salutaions dear Corphish, my name is Tora. It is very pleasant to meet you. I hope you don't mind if I take a look at you after that scuffle." Tora said kindly, before raising her slender fingers to elegantly glide over the shell of the water type. They gingerly moved in massaging circles, pressing a bit more firmly to where it felt a bit tight beneath the shell. Before examining the cracks covered in bandages.
Eyes focused in her task, she gave a soft sigh in relief. "Seems to be alright overall. Probably a little sore but the Krabby didn't seem to get through the shell all the way through. Corphish will molt its shell in time and will have a nice healthy shell again. Corphish tend to be quite resilient. Just needs a good rest and perhaps something to eat after spending up all that energy. How about we take a little break and I'll prepare some Pokemon food for us?" Tora assessed, withdrawing her massaging fingers when her analysis was finished.

Running after Vivian and Leisy, Ella came to an abrupt halt and gasped at the sight of the garden. She knew this place well. Growing up, she'd often stay here when things became particularly difficult at home. Now, the plants that had always been so well tended to littered the lawn, uprooted and crushed.
"How could anyone do this?" Her voice trembled as she stared at the mess. She spun round to face Vivian's parents. They were both in a terrible state, Viv's mother in tears, and her father badly injured. "Are you going to be alright?" she asked Viv's father, wincing at the sight of the gashes. "Who did this?"
She put her hand on Viv's shoulder. "Hey. It'll be ok," she tried to reassure her friend. "We'll find them."
Leisy visibly winced at the gashes on Ella’s father’s arm before internally smacking herself. This is not the time to be a clueless idiot who doesn’t have experience with injuries, Leisy, she told herself sternly, even if you are.
Taking a calming breath in, Leisy swung her bag around and rummaged through it, searching for the rudimentary first aid kit that she’d bought as part of her camping supplies. “Here you go, Mr. Vaude,” she said, opening the kit and handing it to the man. “Best to clean it and bandage it up quickly.”
Leisy gave the family a little space as the wounds were dressed, turning instead to inspect the desiccated garden. Clearly at one point well-loved and tended, the colorful petals were now scattered about the dirt in a haphazard manner as if a horde of Taurus had trampled through. The culprits—it would be impossible for just one individual to kidnap more than one Pokemon, at least in Leisy’s mind—clearly had no interest in not leaving behind evidence as there appeared to be shoe-prints all over the dark, nutrient-filled dirt. They’d clearly valued speediness over cleanliness in this case.
A shifting in the scattered rocks ahead of her caused Shanae’s hands to clench onto Amatorius’ Pokeball. Prepared for anything, Shanae’s mind was already skipping over her next moves: she’d release her Jigglypuff and send it after whatever Pokemon came charging her way. A non-physical move would be preferable—something that ended the battle immediately even more so. Yes, she’d order a ‘Sing’ to knock the enemy Pokemon out, thus ending the battle right then and there. This way, she wouldn’t have to hurt the enemy, and they wouldn’t be able to hurt her Pokemon either.
The rocks continued to shift as if there were some huge monster rousing from its slumber. The hairs on the back of Shanae’s neck stood up as she realized that it wasn’t that the rocks were shifting to allow some Pokemon to surface—it was that they themselves were the Pokemon.
Oh god, an Onix? A Rhyhorn? Shanae thought, muscles tensing as her hand lifted from Amatorius’ Pokeball and instead drew towards Turris’. Either way, if it’s going to be some hulking giant, there’s no way any of my Pokemon would stand a chance in this corridor, especially if it came charging towards us.
Vivian was so grateful to have the friends she did. While her father got bandaged up and her mother told of what happened Vivian prepared every one a warm drink and began packing a bag of supplies. Vivians mother responds to the girls. "Oh thank you so much dear, shame on me asking you young ones to get involved, but I just want my Petals back so dearly. It was terrible, we were startled awake by a tremendous crashing. By the time we raced out it was too late. This large four legged vehicle was..." -she pauses for a moment tearing up as she looked around her garden- "...driving around attacking and ensnaring pokemon."
Viv's father who examined his bandages added to the conversation. "There were also at least two men on foot, running around causing trouble. Spotting, attacking and hooking up the Pokemon to the machine. I tried to stop one of them but I'm only an old man, something darted around a cut me up before I could even get close. I couldn't do anything]" those last words seem to hurt the most. The old mans eyes fall to the floor.
In unison the elderly couple both thanked them for coming, their gratitude was beyond words.
The footprints both start and end in the garden. There are however tire tracks that lead out into the forest. Amongst the chaos and debris of the flower patches, evidence lingers of little battles. There is a swath of leaves, puddles of water, little craters in the dirt and splotches of web.
Chapter One: Broken flowers
Poachers have attacked the Vaud's botanical flower garden, damaging their lively hood and stealing their Pokemon. The trio have now arrived at the desecrated garden and aided the injured and explored.
Corphish initially met Tora's expression with a hardy, defiant stare, but conceded when Tora began to soothe its bruises and scratches.
"Phew, glad to know the li'l guy's gonna be okay," Juana remarked, watching intently as Tora treated Corphish to the best of her ability. "You know, a break sounds pretty good after having to deal with pincers all afternoon," Juana added, smiling warmly at Tora.
Corphish scuttled back over to Juana, and Juana picked up the crawdad. "Thanks, Tora," she said, before patting Corphish a couple of times on the head.
Corphish lightly pinched her nose again.
"¡Ay!"
Juana poked Corphish. "Don't do that," she chided playfully.
Soon, Juana had found a nice shady spot (actually, the one where the Gumshoos from earlier had been) and she, Bounsweet, and Corphish settled down. Bounsweet and Corphish eyed each other. Bounsweet closed one eye; Corphish closed one of its own. They tilted in the same direction, turned away, and at the same time whipped back to face each other, both with their tongues hanging out.
Bounsweet lifted its body up, its calyx hiking slightly. Corphish stood up straighter, tilting its pincers upward. Corphish then snapped its pincers and opened its mouth. Bounsweet cranked its stem in response and opened its own mouth.
Bounsweet leaned in and looked at the spot where its Magical Leaf had stuck Corphish's carapace. Corphish leaned back a bit. Corphish examined the dent in Bounsweet's calyx. It wasn't such a big dent; a small divot an inch above where the stem bends. The two Pokémon examined each other, before hopping and scuttling over to Archie.
Corphish paced round and round Archie, before poking the fire Pokémon's fluffy tail.
Juana pulled out her little notebook and a pencil, and looked up.
"Huh. That same Gumshoos was here earlier," Juana remarked, pointing towards the unwavering mongoose standing next to the tree. "Apparently Gumshoos can stand in one place for hours on end waiting for its prey."
She flipped her tiny book open and fingered through the pages, stopping a bit on the sketch of the Ledyba on the Gumshoos's face.
Corphish, in the meantime, was quite curious about the Growlithe's tail. Corphish poked the tail again, giddiliy scuttling left and right.
"I'd say Corphish is feeling at least a little better," Juana said. "The Pokémon seem pretty curious about one another. At the very least, Corphish and Bounsweet aren't at each others' throats like what happened back in the wild!"
There were a couple of Dewpiders hanging above Juana, their protective water bubbles swaying delicately, gently, in the breeze. "Huh. Funny how Dewpider looks kind of like an astronaut," Juana continued, flipping to a new page and sketching one of the Dewpiders. "Should've bought another Poké Ball. I like these guys. Ah well, as long as I'm getting Trainer Points... you know what they say. 'Gotta catch 'em all,' right?" Juana looked up momentarily from her drawing.

"You are very welcome. Though it's mostly thanks to Corphish being so resilient." Tora said as she sat down beside Juana, removing her backpack and set it down beside her. Unzipping it and shuffling through it to look for the required supplies. Soon removing some bowls and cylinder containers with some labels on them. Most of what looked like symbols representing the type of Pokemon Type this food is preferred for. Then she took out a lunch box and opened it up to reveal some triangular riceballs with some light colorful flakes matching the center berry nestled in the center.
"Would you care for a riceball Lady Juana? I've made a few with different kinds of berries." Tora offered as she held out the box of food out to the younger girl.
Archie had happily followed her trainer before settling down in a lying down position, though out of the shade and was enjoying soaking up the rays of the sun. Though the fire type's ears slightly twitched as she heard the other roaming free trainer Pokemon suddenly come barreling toward the Growlithe. Cocking a eyebrow in a questioning manner as Archie watched Bounsweet then Corphish. Nose twitching as Corphish curiously circled the fire type. When the water type decided to poke the fluffy tail, the Growlithe let out a bark, tail twitching and lightly playfully whacking the crawdad on top of the head. Though the bundle of fluff just felt like poofy cloud.
"Alright everyone, time for lunch!" Tora called out to the Pokemon after she filled the bowls with some Pokemon Food, each different for the different Pokemon. Archie quickly stood up and bounded over, tail wagging as energetic as a skitty on nip. Soon happily attacking the food bowl Tora place before her. Enjoying the spicy taste.
"Yeah. They probably wouldn't get this close to one another normally in the wild. They all are opposing types to one another." Tora agreed as she watched the Pokemon interact with one another. Soon looking to Juana as she pulled out a sketchbook. "Oh you draw? Funny, so do I." she hummed as she pulled out her own journal. Opening it up to reveal several paintings. Made up mostly of Pokemon on her grandparents farm. Some Mareep cuddling with one another, or a ponyta standing on a ridge. There was a few though of Archie, some as a pup, others performing a fire move, or just sitting amongst the sunset.
At the mention of the Dewspiders, Tora glanced up at them for a moment before smiling and reached to her backpack strap, unhitching a empty pokeball, clicking it to enlarge it before handing it out to Juana. "If you like, you can have one of mine." she offered with a kind smile.

The rocks promptly separated into a swarm of separate boulders—Geodudes, Shanae realized. A swarm of them. Just as she was about to relax, however, a Geodude larger than the rest made a move toward rather than away from Shanae. A second later, Shanae realized that the boulder was not a Geodude but rather Geodude’s evolved form, Graveler.
Larger and usually more bullish than its younger form, the Graveler both resembles and acts like an angsty teen. Built in all the right and wrong ways, the Pokemon spends most of its time rolling around rather than walking as its legs are too short to allow it to move its stout body as quickly as it would like. However, Graveler lacks the maturity that often seems to magically develop when it evolves into Golem; the few Golem Shanae had met were sturdy and proud Pokemon, much unlike the Gravelers she’d encountered that had often been brash and slow at recovering.
“You ready for this, Turris?” Shanae asked, looking at the steel Pokemon. The Aron gave her a half-insulted sniff before turning its blue gaze onto the incoming enemy.
The door slid open to reveal a dolt. Olivie frowned as Azerus just stood in front of her, his mouth moving but not making a sound. Was he that easily scared? Or had he forgotten how she looked already? Whatever; her Pokemon needed a pick-me-up, and she wouldn't let any nonsense stand between her companions and good health. With great deliberation, Olivie placed a hand on his shoulder and steered him out of her way. Though not as aggressive or forceful as a push, the gesture still spelled out her disregard for his bumbling, and it hinted at the fact that stepping around him didn't even cross her mind. With that out of the way, in both the figurative and literal sense, Olivie made her way to the main counter. A distinct feeling of satisfaction passed through her as she saw the employee behind the counter recognize her and tense up, no doubt dreading another unpleasant encounter. At the moment, though, Olivie was in a good mood, one that even an obstructive oaf couldn't rattle. ”Heal, please,” she asked in an even tone, laying Gespenst's pokeball on the counter before she turned around to lounge against it. Unsure what to think, the woman scuttled off, leaving Olivie alone with her thoughts. She gave a long, appreciative exhale. Already, what an exciting morning!
In the time before her Cacnea returned Olivie popped open her Pokedex and rifled through it. She took note of the amount of Trainer Points she'd accrued and began to construct a mental checklist of things to do. Time to visit the local store. I'll need more pokeballs, definitely. I need six to rank up. That's my next goal. I'll get Barnie before I go shopping. Or maybe, after. He looked pretty ragged last night, even as his team destroyed mine. A noise from her guts prompted her to look down, but of course, she couldn't see much of anything. Breakfast, first. I'm starved. When the Pokemon Center employee cleared her through, Olivie stood up and span around to take back her friend. Immediately, she released him, though the thought did occur to her that soon she'd have too many Pokemon to constantly have them all out and about. Still, she hated the idea of locking them away in boring balls all day. She didn't know how they worked -for instance, if they were conscious- but being cooped up anywhere struck her as an awful way to spend time.
As she considered this, she walked toward the Center's little parlor where breakfast was served. A bit of money from her account set her and her Pokemon up for a decent meal. After she sat down with a plate overburdened by eggs, sausage, and bacon, Olivie made sure that her companions had some grub of their own before digging in. In the quest for strength, protein was essential!

Tommy turned as Cici approached and shrugged. "It's all good. We were both beat from last night. As for new Pokemon, not yet. That Bulbasaur disappeared by the time we got back out there, but I think I can catch it today." He gestured out. "Seems we aren't the only one's from Central who headed here though. I spotted that girl with the Bidoof outside while I was playing my morning Jazz." He regretted that he'd never learned her name, but no one had really wanted to talk about her after her change. He still found it ironic that had been the case, since she was a hot topic at the hangouts when they thought no one was listening too close.
"Anyways, wanna grab some breakfast before heading back out?"
The Graveler rolled to a stop a good five meters from where Turris stood, eyes narrowing as it gauged the tiny pebble in its path. Egotistical, Shanae thought, frowning. We’ll use that to our advantage.
A short silence ensued as the Graveler waited for the trainer to command her Pokemon, but the words never came. Flicking its confused gaze to the trainer before back again at the Aron, the Graveler decided to make the first move, picking up a rock at its side and launching a powerful Rock Throw.
“Autotomize and Iron Head!” Shanae shouted, breaking her silence as the rock soared closer to the Aron. The Aron followed through, a slight glow alighting it as it ran towards the Graveler rather than away.
Aaaand that encounter was over. A bit embarrassed about being man handled, Azerus shook it of and ignored it as he carried on. He patted his rhyhorn and picked up his roggenrola as he spoke to them. "Hey guys, you did good back there but we need to do better, we're gonna get stronger, OK, all of us!" He looked at his pokemon for some instilled recognition but saw nothing. oh well he thought with a sigh as the three walked to the pokemart. Azerus rolled the three new reduced pokeballs around in his hand. He vowed to put something stronger in these. He had heard stories of dragon Pokemon soaring through the skies above the altana mountain range. He wanted to get one of those. So his journey begun. He and roggenrola rode on the back of ryhorn. He had wanted to buy a saddle but found his wallet near empty, barely enough to cover rations for the trip. He was broke. Soon he might even have to sell his guitar... The trio had been traveling for about an hour now and the town was far out of site when they stumbled across their first training opportunity.
In the clearing before them they spotted a Pokemon. At 2ft tall, the little gray, sylph-like pokémon with its white chest and arms that resembles a dress didn't seem so threatening . It was a pretty thing for sure with a headdress consisting of pink crystals, four short ones cresting along top pointing upward and two long ones on either side of its head pointing downward, with a diamond-cut centerpiece framed by its slim gray ears, while gold nugget sat embedded in its forehead. Sure it looked pretty and expensive but Azerus didn't want a pretty pokemon.
He stared straight into in its wide red eyes surrounded by pink irises. It had to be a fairy type for sure, Azerus didn't imagine 'pink crystal' was a type and these forests were renown for their fairy pokemon. Judging from its lower body that just looked like a large oblong chunk of stone, with a large pink crystal protruding from it, it must also be a rock type.
Fairy and rock, Azerus had no idea what this Pokemon was but he didn't even bother bringing out his broken pokedex to scan it. It didn't matter, it was little and therefore weak. All that mattered was that his pokemon got a nice little battle confidence boost.
"Little rock dude! Attack! Azerus shouted, and with that he did something he had been waiting to try, he picked up and hurled his roggenrola at the jewel pokemon.
"Don't mind if I do," Juana said, taking a rice ball. "Funny story. My parents and I went on a picnic one day and this one group of people were sitting around eating rice balls. One of them very loudly proclaimed, as he was eating the rice ball, that 'nothing beats a jelly filled donut!' Can you imagine?" Juana laughed. "Poor man must've breathed in one too many Koffing fumes."
Corphish, in the meantime, let out a surprised frothing and stepped back, swatting at its face as Archie floofed it. Bounsweet giggled. Corphish swung its claws in indignation, stamping its legs.
Bounsweet and Corphish followed Archie to the food. Corphish was apparently very hungry, as it immediately started scarfing down its food. It paused for a bit, its face looking a bit redder than usual. It opened its mouth and made another frothing noise, before continuing on its meal.
Juana laughed as Corphish paused again. "¿Es muy picante, no?" she teased. Corphish stiffed up a lip and continued eating.
"Looks like Corphish really likes spicy food," Juana said, as the crawdad continued to eat with gusto. "Whatcha got there?"
As Tora produced her own art pad, Juana marveled at each image. "Whoa. Dang, you're really good," Juana remarked. "I just like to sketch whatever fun thing I see. Like the Ledyba on the Gumshoos's face. What kind of paint is that?"
To Juana's surprise, Tora offered her a Poké Ball. She wasn't sure what to do, or if that was legal or anything via league standards, but in the Unova region people gave each other items all the time and never heard anything about it.
Still, though.
"I'll pay you back; I'll buy you another Poké Ball when we get to the next town," Juana replied, gladly taking the capsule. She looked up at the Dewpiders, and one met her eye. It lazily lowered towards the ground and teetered over to her, entranced by the smell of food. However, it looked up at Juana with a bit of apprehension.
"Whoa, hey, nobody's going to hurt you," Juana said to the Dewpider. The bubble of water quivered around the Dewpider's head as it stumbled forward again. Juana picked up a bit of bitter food and held it out to the spider Pokémon. Dewpider narrowed its eyes at the food and stepped back, obviously apprehensive. And yet the food smelled so good...
Corphish butted in and started waving its claws at Dewpider. Dewpider shrank back and zipped behind a rock.
"Corphish, don't spook the spider," Juana chastised. Corphish pinched her nose lightly.
She plucked Corphish off and saw that the Dewpider appeared to be... laughing?
"Likes slapstick, huh?" Juana wondered. She turned towards Corphish and gave it a loud, annoying smooch to the head.
Which landed her another pinch. Corphish scrabbled in Juana's arms, and the Dewpider was rolling about.
Juana sat down next to the Dewpider, and made a funny face to Bounsweet. Bounsweet turned back, then whipped around and made a more ridiculous expression. Dewpider thought this was very funny for some reason.
Man, this Pokémon has low standards, Juana thought facetiously. "See? Nothing to worry about!" Juana said to the Dewpider, holding her arms out. Dewpider stood up straight again and skittered up to Juana, leaning its water bubble in on Juana's hand. Dewpider was very wet, and its water bubble was cool to the touch. It clearly wanted the bitter food.
Dewpider absorbed the food into its bubble, comically reaching for it with its puckered mandible. It finally managed to suck the food into its mouth, and thus it swallowed it whole. Juana patted the spider's water bubble, prompting it to jiggle in an adorable fashion. Dewpider looked up and gave Juana a friendly expression, signaling that it at least acknowledged that Juana was not going to goosh it under a rolled-up newspaper.
"Say, do you want to..." Juana suggested, holding out the Poké Ball. Dewpider walked up to it and sniffed the ball a couple of times. The ball didn't appear to give off any particular pheromones or exide any sort of danger. Nope. The capsule had the Dewpider seal of approval.
Whatever that meant.
Juana took it as a prompt to gently tap the Dewpider over the head, causing the capsule to open up and the spider to disappear into it in a flash of light. One shake. Two shakes. A third. *Click!* The itsy bitsy spider was safely stored in the ball.
Not wanting to coop up the little bug in a capsule unable to look around and explore, Juana popped the capsule back open, and Dewpider appeared on the ground.
"Thanks for the assist, Tora," Juana said. "Looks like I owe you... a couple, first for Corphish, and then for Dewpider, huh?"
Juana scanned Dewpider's data into the Pokédex.
"Dewpider, Water Bubble Pokémon. Bug/Water type. Female.
"It crawls onto the land in search of food. Its water bubble allows it to breathe and protects its soft head. Nature: Careful. Ability: Water Bubble. Takes plenty of siestas. Moves: Bubble, Infestation, Water Sport, Bug Bite."
"Better keep her hydrated," Juana remarked. She pulled a water bottle out of her pack, and walked over to the river with Dewpider, drinking the last of the water in the bottle before dipping the bottle into the river and filling it with fresh river water. She tipped the open bottle to Dewpider, and it replenished its water bubble by sucking the water out of the container, holding it up like a diver's helmet with three of its spindly green legs. Dewpider very much enjoyed having someone who could keep it safe and breathing.
"Got room for one more?" Juana asked Tora, setting Dewpider down.

“Thank you,” Leisy said, her hands wrapped tightly around her mug of hot cocoa. Listening as Vivian’s parents talked, Leisy found her mind conjuring up pictures of long-ago organizations that had been famed—back in the day—for kidnapping Pokemon and bending them to their will to carry out their motives. Names such as Team Galactic and Team Rocket flew through her mind, followed by vivid flashes from action and thriller movies that featured the groups, always warring with heroic trainers that believed in the goodness of both Pokemon and people alike.
Having thought the world too modern, too “now,” too present for such dramatic and heart-rending acts, Leisy listened intensely to the couple’s story, a frown perched firmly on her face. “Were the people wearing similar clothes by chance? A certain color or logo?” Leisy asked, mind whirling as she thought of the iconic ‘G’ that marked the presence of team Galactic. “Was there any indication that they were part of a larger organization of sorts?”
Momentarily surprised, the larger Pokemon managed to gather its wits and move out of the way just as the small but significant steel Pokemon came charging at it like a bullet. The Graveler watched with wide eyes as the Aron’s blazing blue eyes locked onto its black ones, unwavering in their focus even as the Pokemon flew through the air away from the ground-rock dual type.
“Turn and Metal Claw it!” the order came, and Turris twisted in midair to land a glancing blow off the Graveler’s side. The grating sound of metal scratching across rock echoed through the cavern as the Graveler scrambled away from the Aron, putting some distance between itself and the tiny but clearly not insignificant Pokemon that had just scored the first blow in the battle.
Both the Aron and its trainer watched patiently, waiting for the wild Pokemon to make its move.
16 Vivian's father replied. "No insignia, not that we could see. They moved fast and wore camouflage. They had a routine, I think it was planned or had been done before. I don't know if I have anymore information then that... Sorry." Vivian couldn't help but try comfort her father, putting an arm around him. "It's alright, we'll get petals back and see to it these guys are stopped." Vivian spoke cheery and optimistic but uncertainty was in her eyes as she searched her friends for reinsurance. "right?"
Chapter One: Broken flowers
Poachers, possibly 3, have attacked the Vaud's botanical flower garden, damaging their lively hood and stealing their Pokemon. The friendly trio have now arrived at the desecrated garden, aiding the injured and investigating.
Azerus found himself on the floor and stumbled sluggishly as he got up. Looking around confused he noted his rhyhorn standing in front of him looking as though it hadn't moved and his roggenrola on the floor to the side of him, looking a little dizzy but otherwise alright. Azerus let out a painful groan as his hand felt a large lump swelling in his head. Suddenly remembering the wild pokemon he dashed forward only to see the rustling of bushes as it fled. Swooping up his roggenrola he jumped on the back of his rhyhorn.
"charge!" he commanded it, pointing in the direction of the fleeing pokemon. The chase was on!
With Vivian’s father’s answer, Leisy banished all thought of secret organizations collecting Pokemon to take over the world from her mind, focusing instead on Vivian as she asked Leisy for reassurance.
“Of course,” Leisy said, quashing the uncertainty that she herself felt. What her friend needed at the moment wasn’t some wavering leaf but rather a steel pole to support her. In fact, Leisy really didn’t have much reason if any to be upset—it wasn’t her Pokemon being captured, her home getting ransacked, her parents getting injured. It was Vivian’s, and Leisy needed to be there for her, or at least try to be there best she could. “We’ll get them back, Vivian.”
The wild Graveler rolled back onto its feet, its eyes darting around wildly before zeroing in on the tiny smudge of white-grey and ice blue glaring back at him. Before he could make up his mind again, however, a feral growl sounded from deeper within the cavern. A spherical outline farther into the darkness, complete with stubby limbs that ended in clawed fingers, indicated to Shanae that the hulking figure was in fact Graveler’s evolution, Golem.
The wild Graveler froze, immediately backing up and retreating to join its brethren that had already fled deeper into the cavern as Shanae looked on. Snorting, Turris plopped down and rolled ungracefully onto his back, looking back to his trainer with an open mouth. “Arrrron,” he whined.
“Fine, Turris,” Shanae said, rolling her eyes and fishing the berries out from her jacket pocket. “Only because you rocked that battle.”
"How silly." Tora chuckled, wondering why anyone would call a riceball a donut. Taking a riceball and nibbling it slow and steady as she watched the Pokemon. Chuckling a little as Corphish scarfed down its food. "I'll keep that in mind. Archie also likes spicy food." she mused, taking another bite out of the riceball, enjoying the soothing taste of oran berry.
At the question of paint, Tora smiled a bit thoughtfully. "Well, sometimes it's just simple water colors, though quite a bit of times I use Smeagle paint. Their colorful ooze makes pretty great paint." she answered before watching the cute interaction between Juana and her Pokemon, acquiring a new friend.
"Awe, do not concern yourself, I am just glad I could be of assistance." Tora said happily in response to the younger girl mentioning in 'oweing' the tall woman.
Seeing the Dewspider released and taking well care of, Tora smiled in approval. "You're really a kind person Juana." she noted as she reached in her bag and got another bowl, filling it with bitter Pokemon food that was more suited for water types. A little more soft for easier digestion. Then set it down in front of the little water bug. "Here you go Dewspider." Tora smiled warmly.
Archie soon finished inhaling her own spicy food, raising her head and licking her canine teeth and lips. Ears perking a little at the Dewspider, nose twitching a little as she leaned in a little to curiously sniff the water bug Pokemon.
Tora slowly stood as she picked up her own water bottle and headed to the river. Kneeling down to scoop up some water and fill the bottle. Pausing as there was a splash, the black haired woman looked up to see something peeking around behind a rock in the river. Looking closer, she could see a golden brown coloring with a shining red gem.
"Oh. A Staryu." Tora said, watching the star shaped Pokemon lean out a little more before quickly hiding behind the rock when it noticed Tora looking.
"Hey it's alright! Apologies I didn't mean to scare you! Are you hungry?" Tora spoke softly as she reached and took out some Pokemon food, holding it out to the timid starfish. It was a little odd seeing a Staryu in a river rather than the ocean, but not unheard of as they sometimes use rivers to travel back to the ocean.
The timid Staryu slowly peeked out again, before making a sound of surprise as a red stripe Basculin suddenly launched out of the water toward the starfish. Sharp teeth chomping onto one of the jewel Pokemon's limps and gnawing it off.
Staryu squealed before quickly spun trying to Rapid Spin away from the red striped fish, though it was lopsided due to missing one of its limbs. The Basculin chomped just missing a limb before quickly following after the starfish. Tora quickly stood up as she saw the Staryu in trouble and she didn't particularly think too clearly in her next move. Only that she needed to help. So she took out her empty pokeball, quickly throwing it when the Staryu drew near to smack the ball against it. The starfish disappeared in a flash of light just as the Basculin was about to make a good chomp on the gem.
Tora had to take a few steps into the water as she reached out to catch the Pokeball. The Basculin quickly lept out of the water again, sharp teeth poised to take a bite out of the human woman's arm. Archie however was watching intently before the puppy Pokemon quickly stood and charged. Fur fluffed up and bristling with loud snarls, growls, and barks emitting from the Growlithe. Archie jumped just before touching the water, slamming her head against the violent fish, knocking it clean back into the water. Archie gave a minor whimper as she realized she was falling toward the water but Tora quickly managed to grab the scruff of the Growlithe, quickly retreating back onto land with a sigh of relief.
"Whew... Thank you Archie." Tora said as she set Archie on the ground, who gave a happy yip. Looking at the Pokeball in her hand, it rocked a few times, before clicking closed. With a smile, she let the Staryu out of the ball. The starfish gave a 'HYAH' sound, glancing around as it stood on two out of its four limbs. The one that should be on top being the one torn off.
Taking out her Pokedex as it dinged at another capture. "Staryu the Star Shaped Pokemon. Staryu apparently communicates with the stars in the night sky by flashing the red core at the center of its body. If parts of its body are torn, this Pokémon simply regenerates the missing pieces and limbs. Unless the its gem is destroyed, its body will continue to regenerate even if torn into a thousand pieces. Ability: Natural Cure. Nature: Timid." the electronic device spoke.
Tora knelt and patted the Staryu's gem gently. "That must have been quite a scare. Sorry about that surprise, thought at the time you'd be safer in a Pokeball. My name is Tora it's nice to meet you... Mhmm I think I will call you... Sirius. How's that sound?" Tora asked, earning another 'HYAH' before the Staryu waddled over and lightly leaned against Tora's leg. With a smile, Tora scooped Sirius up into her arms and returned to Juana, settling back down under the shady spot.
Producing another Pokemon bowl and Pokemon food and set it down for the Staryu. Archie followed, sniffing at the star like Pokemon curiously, though the Staryu shyly shifted away.

As she threw the berries to the Aron, however, Shanae realized that despite how successful Turris had appeared to be in driving away the Graveler, winning the battle had still been an unlikely scenario.
Although he arguably had more experience under his belt in regards to the world and had the help of a trainer, Turris would easily have been defeated by the wild Pokemon. The experience Turris had gained throughout the years was mostly not in battle—or at least the Aron hadn’t levelled up as much as the trainer would have liked—and the help Shanae could provide her Pokemon during combat was limited at best.
At the end of the day, it was still up to her Pokemon to pull through with a combination of experience and ability, and Turris lacked in at least one if not both when compared with the wild Graveler, and—
Shanae paused, looking down at her Pokemon as it headbutted her leg gently.
Rhyhorn gave a good chase but the elusive Pokemon was always just out of sight. Trees rustled, branches snapped and the pursuit continued. Rhyhorn took the direct approach, a straight line. Toppling small trees, crunching shrubbery and smashing through little boulders without a care. Azerus on the other hand did care, it may not have hurt the rock pokemons hard solid hide but it was scratching up his soft fleshy legs pretty bad, not to mention tearing through his last pair of good jeans.
He realised rhyhorn was probably not agile enough to dodge all the disasters and even if they tried he would surely lose that pokemon for good. This was a matter of revenge now. Azerus pushed on through the pain and scrapes. "Let's go rhyhorn! Keep it up!" He cheers, encouraging his pokemon.
He was surprised when rhyhorn came to a screeching halt. Nearly toppling off the front of his stead, Azerus ended up planted awkwardly on its face just narrowly avoiding its horn. Looking up he saw a wide river cutting through the lush under forest right in front of them. 'Damnit!' He thought as he regained his seating, that's when he noticed something else exciting.
One door closes and another one opens.
A bidoof stood a short distance away gnawing at the base of a tree. Azerus had seen one of these before. It was the woman's one pokemon he didn't battle. Now he decided to find out what he missed out on. Sliding of rhyhorn he patted the big beast. "You got it this time." he assured him. Rhyhorn snorted, bidoof growled. "GO!" Azerus yelled. Rhyhorn did what it always did, it charged. Bidoof aware of the oncoming attack curled himself into some sort of defensive ball. The attack sent him flying into the bushes. A moment later he came rolling back out, still in a ball he slammed into rhyhorn's face.
With what she hoped was a reassuring smile, Ella nodded. "Yeah. They can't have gone far. We'll track them down."
As positive as she tried to sound, her voice wavered. Could she do this? She was just a beginner trainer, with two newly-caught Pokemon, and the bad dream had knocked her confidence. There was no way she was going to stay out of it, though. The Vauds were like a second family to her.
"C'mon," she said, gesturing towards the tire tracks that stretched out into the forest. "Let's hurry!"
"Ah, yes," With a slight laugh, Cici shook her head at the memory of the girl. She recalled the look she'd received simply for having her Whismur out of his Pokeball. "So she's here too? Looks like this place is pretty popular."
Walking alongside Tommy, she headed towards the lobby. "Yeah, did you like the look of the little cafes around here?" she asked. "Hmm, I have four Pokemon to feed now. I'd better find somewhere to play." She thought back to the places she'd seen that would possibly make good gig venues.
“Arrron,” Turris said, headbutting his trainer softly on the leg. “Ron, Aron.”
Shanae’s eyes softened as she leaned down to her Pokemon, her fingers smoothing over the steel-type’s cool and shiny exterior.
Turris had always been a little too heavy for her to pick up and carry around. Sure she’d only ever picked up Ebon once—after a particularly nasty battle—and she’d never tried lifting her hardy Trapinch either for lack of need due to the Pokemon’s natural ability to bounce back from any sort of injuries with a smile, Shanae realized that her Aron was the only Pokemon that she truly couldn’t pick up.
