Name: Utterly incomprehensible to and unpronounceable by other species.
AKA: Jolenar, Faced with choosing a more comprehensible name to offer his crew mates cursed with rudimentary forms of language. This Xreene has chosen the name Jolenar to represent him.
Age: 92 human years
Race: Xreene
Appearance:

Role in Team?: Xreene observer.
Bio: The Xreene collective has its own reasons for volunteering one of its own to such a dangerous mission. And currently it does not feel compelled to explain those reasons to the other races. Suffice to say the Xreene Collective has offered the services of one of it's scientists for the purposes of this voyage.
The Xreene the crew of the Monroe will come to know has been alive for roughly ninety human years. Though Xreene are capable of living for several human centuries assuming perfect health is kept throughout that time. Much of that time has been spent learning his designated purpose. A pre-selected occupation and skill that was chosen for him as he grew out of the hatching stage and his mental and physical development was tested. Based on the expected needs of the Collective all hatch-lings who survive into adolescence are assigned a future designation. No discipline is considered inherently inferior to any other. There are no Xreene who sit in a higher cast than any other Xreene. All Xreene work for the benefit of the collective and by extension, all Xreene everywhere. And all duties and scientific disciplines exist because they are important in some way to furthering that goal.
He spent years learning the sciences. Studying various fields and enjoying a depth of education found no where else in committee space. From the time he was a hatch-ling to the moment the collective assigned his services on board the vertebrate vessel Known as the Monroe much of his work was advancing the agenda of the collective, like all Xreene must. Whatever that agenda may be.
Personality: Jolenar is curious, curious about anything and everything that happens on onboard. There is nothing about these vertebrates that does not fascinate him. Sometimes it confuses him greatly. But mostly it just fascinates him. Their language and habits and reactions. He may sometimes say or do something purely to study the expressions of those who witness it. From the strange to the borderline offensive, all done in the name of science! And advancing Xreene understanding of the outside galaxy.
He will often pour over notes and whatever scientific conondrum is being studied on board. Making sure his sentinel is there to witness, record and participate. Bringing nearly a century of Xreene expertise and perspective to bear in unlocking its secrets. He records all things he sees. Transmits everything he can back to the collective for further analysis and study, or stores it securely until he can make delivery.
Weapon(s) :No natural weapons unless someone wants to climb into his tank to fight him. With the expected danger of this mission he spearheaded the Xreene designed a MK1 sentinel droid. Not a purpose made combat droid but it was designed and built with that possibility in mind. A personnel droid he can operate remotely. Still a prototype but a design he hopes can be refined by studying it alongside biological bipeds and comparing their actions with 'the real thing'.
He hoped to give it a mostly humanoid and neutral appearance. Thinking it might help the other crew mates more easily trust and work with something familiar in shape to themselves. Completely unaware of the vertebrate concept of automaton-phobia.
i938.photobucket.com/albums/ad229/wels..Starship: No starship of his own (obvious reasons) but the collective ensured there is one escape pod made suitable just for his needs. A means for him to survive a potential catastrophe if the Monroe is destroyed.
Other:
The Xreene has come with other means of being present alongside crew mates. Aside from his remote controlled sentinel he also has a much larger robot that is doubles as a mobile environmental suit. He can be placed in the large, bulbous thorax or head area of the machine. It is designed to keep him alive and comfortable, albeit cramped for long periods of time.
Designed chiefly around the ideal of durability and functionality over form. It is incredibly tough and sturdy. And the head is capable of keeping him alive and safe even if both legs have been broken or damaged in some way. It is a large hulking thing. Nearing nine feet in height when fully operational and powered. It gives Jolenar a tremendous amount of ability. And is fitted with numerous systems and features to make it a little more agile than it might seem. Plus Xreene engineering and cybernetics are second to none within the boundaries of Committee space.
