It's just a shame some Tyranids just happened to stumble over them for some reason. To think that such "bad luck" could befall those who supposedly stood against the illustrious space elves! Talk about a "foul turn of fate".

If only there was a race of beings who could have foreseen this disaster and warned them... xD

Well for starters they were dealing with Orks, and betrayal by the eldar at the time (which might I add, it was explicitly stating they were winning in both) and the living ancestors did foresee it, which is why many went along with the Imperium, and are alive.
