Bio: Tao was actually from a long illustrious line of meat roasters specializing in seasoning their meat with a mix of powdered ingredients and cooking it over a fierce wood fire. Tao quickly learned from his family the various secrets to cooking a good piece of meat over fire. He learned of the secrets of wood cutting and selection, how to choose an herb at its peak and grind it in a way that its essence does not seep, to also look and cut up a choice piece of meat. However what his real talent was one the skill that was hardest to master, and that is the secret of fire control. To control the fire is everything in an art that relies on heat. You need it strong to cook it thoroughly and some say a good fire also infuses a certain type of essence into the meat itself. However if a fire blazes too high it'll burn out as well as risking overcooking or burning the food.

It was Tao's control of the fire which let him shift careers as during a festival between other meat roasters he caught the eye a mysterious alchemist who needed a helper who could artfully control the fires for his various works. Tao liked his pay offer and took the job and managed to apply his earlier skillsets in assisting the woman. He learned some more but would drift to the academy as he gained an interest in working with materials and crafting with them especially with more exotic materials. He would promptly join the academy to win more

Organic distillation: By imbibing ingredients Tao can harness the true essence of those ingredients into a liquid which can then be used to imbue properties to another item. He learned this from the alchemist.

Personality: There are two distinctive personalities for the man known as Nathaniel Mason or the Templar Solomon Doveheart of the Stormbearer Isles. It isn't that these two personality facets are wholly separate as some form of mental disorder, but rather just different parts of the same coin. And he can be somewhat quick

In regards to Nate Mason, he is a kind, easy-going, but socially awkward lad. In the presence of those who don't share any of his interests or status, he is a fairly milquetoast and nervous individual who tries to avoid as much contact as possible. The only times he does engage with these groups are if have actively engaged him, or if they are messing with others who are more like him. To those who do share some traits with him, he is a friendly, loyal and somewhat boisterous fellow who is quite eager to talk about subjects he enjoys at length. While he does mean well, he tends to misunderstand the emotional temperature of the room and those around him. He is an individual with a curious and inquisitive mind and if not yapping on about his own likes and dislikes among his peers, he is quick to question.

In regards to Solomon, he is an esteemed man of the realm. He follows a knightly code of conduct, and is heavily interested in the welfare of the common man. The Templar despises acts of evil and unjust and is quick to act in order to smite them down. He is a well spoken man, who is eager to speak with lengthy monologues of heroic intent, fond of the works of academia, and especially the theology of his Patron God. Each and every action this templar performs is full of a rigorous spirit that refuses to yield!


Biography: The story of The Exile, Apostate of the Pact of the Blue Quill, Templar Solomon Doveheart of the Stormbearer Isles is one full of adventure, glorious heroism, defiance in the face of adversity, and woe! His journey is a great epic which cannot be given justice through a mere written or oral history. However before the surface of the legacy of Templar Solomon Doveheart of the Stormbearer Isles can even be scratched, one must delve a bit into the story of Nate Mason.

Nathaniel was born and raised in a cosmopolitan city near the coast. While various subjects of Nate's life could be brought up, they are not as important or as eventful as one particular day and the events that followed. That one day of the most importance was when Nate was inside the local games and hobby store alongside his dear friend Saul Fischer. During some discussion over a card game, Saul brought up the Realm of Ebyrea and the champions and heroism involved with it. He enthusiastically spoke of the great fun he had in the realm, and how one of the game shop employees was one of the high ranks in the Pact of the Blue Quill. Saul continued one explaining some game rules and how they constructed weapons and spells that were fun to use, but safe so nobody got injured while playing.

Nate was hesitant about playing, as he would prefer to stick to the board games and didn't really know anyone involved with it apart from Saul, but he was convinced otherwise by his friend. So Nate decided to join Saul and play in the Realm of Ebyrea.

So began the tale of the Templar Solomon Doveheart of the Stormbearer Isles, armed with his light one handed trust boffer blades, and cloth garments. The templar managed to enter the Pact of the Blue Quill due to a writ that was written on his behalf by the Scholar Burrows. Solomon found employment as a bodyguard. Solomon had a kinship with Scholar Burrows and gladly assisted him in treacherous tasks for the mage's research.

The templar was assigned on many quests, from the lowly orders to fetch the tonic waters for the established members of the order to more grand adventures such as slaying dragons that terrorized the land. There were many other adventures he and the Scholar went on, however despite their heroism they soon noticed a great injustice present in the Pact. Other people who were closer friends to the leaders got far more experience, rewards and status even if they entered much later than other members.

It wasn't a fair game, and despite throwing in time, effort and resources into the Realm of Ebyrea, the scholar and the templar were lower class citizens compared to those in the inner circle of the Pact of the Blue Quill. This is when Templar Solomon Doveheart of the Stormbearer Isles gathered up other low and green members of the Pact to overthrow the order and demand justice.

This noble band of rag-tag rebels fighting against injustice were soundly stomped out, stripped of their valuables such as the boffer weapons as most of the rebels did borrow the ones from the organization, and exiled from the realm for not playing according to the tune of the ruling classes.

While he may have been defeated Solomon still had his spirit burning brightly and knew he needed to search for a new promised realm, free from the tyranny that plagued Ebryea. During the search for new realms, Nate discovered the Seishun Academy of Swords. He applied to it and was ready to begin a new adventure.

Personality: Caia is not of the normal type of girl. She's not cutesy, nor does she like revealing clothes, or flirting with guys. She's actually a bit of a tomboy. She loves sword-smithing and often regards the weapons she makes as a part of her own soul. She's quite a nerd about weapons actually. Caia is not too shy and introduces herself to anyone and everyone. Sassily, of course. But she can be often perceived as rude, and that makes her feel bad.
History: The Morningstrikers are among some of the most famed swordsmiths of all time, having forged many masterpieces among their craft, so it was no surprise when eldest daughter Caia enrolled into Seishun Academy. She had long been obsessed over swords, but not allowed to touch a forge, since she was not of age. Caia had a very strange childhood, being the heir to the legacy that came with the name of Morningstriker. She was often pressured to become a swordsmith and read lots of books about it. It was a lonely childhood, for her family lived out in the wilderness, away from society. Without friends, she grew to love her weapons like she would love friends. Finally, when she was 13, she enrolled into Seishun Academy for her first year. Now, she's 14 and in her second year of enrollment.

Bio: Born to the prestigious Van Rees family, Aldous was raised in the lap of luxury with several servants working under his family, caring for his every whim. For the first years of his life, Aldous was raised to take over for his father, to be trained as a knight like his father was, hunting monsters for his kingdom. However, when Aldous laid eyes on a sword for the first time, it changed his life's direction completely. Enamored by the sheer beauty and craftsmanship of the form of the weapon, Aldous sought to create others like it. He requested to be taught by the greatest smiths in the town his father oversaw, and thus began the process of learning all he needed to in order to craft the finest swords. As he progressed, the blade which first got him into the trade became lackluster and he realized how foolish he was. However, he never ceased in his pursuit to create beautiful swords.

Though abusing her friendship is another way to tick her off and she's not too fond of wasting second chances on people who don't deserve it.

The life of Lidea Merryworth is nothing too special. As a young girl who watched the older boys and men of her town hold spectacles of swordplay at least once a weekend, the image of fire and steel was imprinted in Lidea’s mind. When news of the Seishun Academy of Swords reached her, there was no hesitation to join and test her hand out at crafting the “big toys”.

That kind of mentality had…mixed results. Although not the worst student in the Academy, she could do better and often takes the more dangerous, experimental route than sticking to protocol. Still, that kind of thinking has led her to be quite adept in silver usage. Even now, she’s probably cooking up some new sword design to baffle the world with…or blow up her dorm again.

Lidia has a great apt to using long swords with a light weight to them. In terms of smithing, she’s found a natural affinity to silver and iron, though the former is usually difficult to obtain without some guidance. Though if curiosity for new and improved sword counted, she’d gladly count that as her specialty too. Even if it does involved many flat-lined experiments gone wrong.

— "Maid uniforms are really cool, aren't they?"
Lotte is indeed a hard to miss figure, or maybe not, given that she's barely about the waist height of most humans. Then again, a petite, silver-haired, golden-eyed fox girl is a sight that few would forget, especially when it's one as cute and deadpan as Lotte, whose round face makes she look even younger. Obviously, the most eye catching of Lotte's feature's are her fox ears and tail which are as pristine as her hair, which she keeps tied in a ponytail to make work easier and cleaner.

Nine out of ten times that you'd see Lotte she'll be wearing her maid outfit in an impeccable fashion, making her the perfect image of a maid that all noble houses would like to have. She wouldn't be able to work if even a single button was out of place. As expected of a maid, Lotte usually wears boots designed to help her keep a good balance, in fact she kind of dislikes high heels, her favorite off-duty shoes being mostly perfect polished mary janes, because of how pretty and shinny they look. Lastly, Lotte always wears thighhigh stockings and garters, to keep her legs warm, though these details usually aren't very easy to notice because of her dress.

When she's out of Field expeditions, Lotte still keeps her maid uniform, as pristine and perfect as ever, but then she also wears a suit of shining plate armor with delicate red trims that protects her torso and hips, along with gauntlets and greaves. Her combat gear also includes a shield, emblazoned with the Chaubert family's crest. She wields a heavy flanged mace as primary weapon. All of Lotte's arms are of very high quality and kept well-groomed by herself.

— "Sir, please, try not to do anything too harsh."
Lotte's can be best described as a laidback and cool person. Perhaps a bit too cool to say the truth, or just unenergetic... whatever.

Either way, the fact is that Lotte is usually calm and collected, to the point of causing some people to wonder if she's not sleepwalking sometimes. The thing is that Lotte is a girl like any other her age but her introverted —read, stoic— nature makes it hard for her to express her feelings toward others which leads to the impression that Lotte is cold when it's not true.

It's not impossible to catch some of the rare moments when Lotte's barrier is weak, though. She's specially vulnerable when offered sweets or if someone pets her head. Lotte's smile is said to be very heartwarming, the problem is that you'll have to deal with a sulking maid who might end up pouring hot tea on your pants by 'accident', if you make fun of Lotte because of that.

Lotte was born in a village deep within a mountain range that borders the kingdom. For most of her childhood, Lotte lived like any other girl of her age, helping her parents tend to the fields, learning housekeeping skills with her mother and playing with the other children when there was time for it. Her home village was a pacific place known for the quality of their hot springs, sheep, and beer, so they prospered without any real hardships, aside from some occasional mood swing of the weather.

However, their hard earned happiness was a fleeting one, for the world is actually a harsh and unforgiving place. Such truth would become more evident than ever when Lotte's village was raided by mercenaries that were returning from an unsuccessful campaign into the lands that lay beyond the mountains. All those who weren't killed, were enslaved and later sold on the black market, including Lotte and her mother.

To Lotte's luck, she was freed by a group of adventurers led by a knight-smith named Henry Chaubert, who adopted her and helped Lotte find a new way in life. Eventually, this led to Lotte coming to work as a maid and bodyguard at the famous Seishun Academy, helping the other students in and out of Field missions as she tried to repay her new father, who was once a distinguished student of this same academy, with her work.

Kitsune are a powerful spiritual race, even a youngling such as Lotte is much stronger than she looks. In fact, she's about twice as strong and though as an adult man, which helps with carrying heavy stuff around the academy, as well as when going on Field missions. Aside from being more capable than normal humans on a physical basis, Lotte is also a very competent maid being well versed in all kinds of housekeeping skills. Lastly, she's knowledgeable about a lot of subjects thanks to the fact that she enjoys reading a lot. No wonder why she's one of the most requested helpers in the whole academy.

She is kind of mysterious and tends to try and act cute. She tends to get stuck in the middle of fights trying to be mediator although she usually ends up being the victim of a fight. Also a slight obsession with foxes

History:
Parents raised Kathryn from birth till the age of six till her parents passed away due to disease. Kathryn spent most of her time after they six years inside the orphanage locked in her room. This is where her obsession with swords started to grow, she spent every moment fantasising about swords and their unique designs. Even when she was cleaning the orphanage she would be pretending the broom was a sword. Years pasted and she started to realize her fantasy could come true if she worked hard enough. She didn’t tell anyone as she tried to salvage any material she could find and tried to form them. Through day and night, she stayed in her room trying to perform magic, alchemy or something just to get the materials to forge together with no success. One day though something happened. She gave up and within that moment she realized the truth she had no ability when it came to forging swords.
Days later there was sounds of chanting coming from the other orphans, Kathryn went to investigate only to find another girl lying on the ground as she was kicked by several boys. Within that moment, Kathryn slid her way towards the girl and into the centre of the boys and she stood up for that girl. But she soon found herself on the ground being kicked rather than the other girl. Later that night she locked herself within her room and began to cry. A bright light immitted throughout the room and in the centre of the room there was a flimsy looking rapier.

She has some skill in cleaning around the house doing things such as dusting, washing dishes and sorting the clothes after they have been washed.

Nika is, in a word, focused. If there is a goal before her she shall dedicate herself fully to it's completion, even at the detriment (or benefit) of her health. Long hours will gladly be spent stoking the coals of the forge if only to work through the night and complete a bulk order. Satisfaction is drawn from being able to deliver a finished product and knowing it will enrich the lives of both swordsman and craftsmen, as one is preserved through martial might and the other receives the boon of wealth and experience. Her dedication to the craft has come at a detriment of lacking a social life, though when removed from the forge and mingling among her peers, she has the tendency of being clammed up until comfortable with a person due to the long ingrained habitual silence she picked up from weathering her abrasive mentor. Nika does have a soft spot for children and festivities, both having the effect of making Nika far more sociable as the upbeat atmosphere relaxes her wound-up personality.

Biography
Swords have long been the building block of human society since the day man decided to melt the first ores or attach obsidian to a wooden paddle. They've deterred as many threats as they have ended upon their edge, and for that Nika believes it is a worthy ambition to dedicate herself to creation of these tool. Born into a city strategically positioned on one end of the most travelled pass through a sprawling mountain range, Nika has long been accustomed to the sights and sounds of tradesman at work, processing the wealth of materials that pass through their gates and out into the world.

It was through the designing, manufacturing, and selling of all manner of tool that they prospered, a feat that Nika would endeavor to replicate since she was a young girl. She apprenticed herself under a hard, old man who was getting on in the years, a veritable treasure trove of experience wasting away in a failing body. This would result in Nika often serving as his hands, forcing her to develop her body to handle all the rigors of forging for herself and her mentor, which resulted in a musculature she appreciates immensely in her craft.

She came upon the fake cat ears which are ever present upon her head one day while manning a stall her mentor's wares, attempting to sell a set of kitchen ware she'd fabricated with spare materials laying around the forge. A mother and her daughter had approached and looked interested in purchasing, but lacked the funds for everything she desired. To the buyer's surprise, her child tried to offer up her cherished hair clip to cover the bill. Unwilling to rebuke the generosity of a child and stifle it, Nika accepted what they could offer and continued to wear those ears in the same manner a smith might hand their first sword upon the wall as a memento.

Her mentor would never let her hear the end of it in regards to her new ornament, his verbal tirades only surpassed by added workload placed upon her, but he was not long for the forge anyway. Knowing he'd either retire or drop dead sooner rather then later, he ordered Nika to leave for Seishun Academy to broaden her horizons before he even considered passing on the forge to her. Nika thought the old grouch just didn't want anyone to see him wither away any further, but allowed him his solitude and left to further her education in sword smithing.

Specialty
Nika is suited towards the creation of 'modern' Damascus Steel, also known as billet welding, a term referring to layering slabs of steel and iron onto a billet and compressing it, resulting in metal that is more durable and possesses an iconic wave pattern that is unique in every metal forged with this process.

Favors making two handed weapons and bastard swords, though she does dabble in cooking implement work for extra funds.

Wood and bone are preferred handle materials.

When on expedition, relies upon curved great sword and heavy steel gauntlets for hunting. Plate mail covers her chest, back, and outer thighs, but otherwise is not present so she is not too encumbered to carry herself and her armaments with some speed.

Name: Lee Hikoshiro
Age: Seventeen

Biography: Long ago, the Hikoshiro household was renowned throughout the land for their exceptional skill in sword crafting. Their abilities were second to none and the blades they produced were of top quality. The reputation they garnered not only stirred up curiosity among the public, but also envy and ill-will from their rivals. What couldn't be solved with bribery and petty threats, was swiftly dealt with by bloodshed. As quickly as they appeared, the once proud Hikoshiro clan was no more. Or at least, that's what most had thought. Those who had survived chose to live in seclusion, hoping that a prodigy would appear to restore their clan's former glory.

Years had passed and as they wished, they were blessed with a genius. Lee was without a doubt gifted; a diamond in the rough whose potential was still miles from being reached. However, what most had considered a talent was eventually treated as a curse by Lee. The repercussions that came with the use of his ability and the burden he had to shoulder were all too much for him to handle. His passion for smithing was something he previously embraced, but with time, eventually grew to despise it. Lee soon began to neglect the whims of his family and finally, realized that he should have been living the way he wanted. News of the Seishun Academy of Swords came rather late to their household, but they knew that this was their chance to rekindle whatever spark that was left in Lee. The only issue about this idea was their son's willingness to actually listen to them. Surprisingly, he had not qualms in accepting his their request. For him, it was merely a decision between living the remainder of his life within the confines of the mountains or finally being able to leave his god forsaken home. Clearly, it was obvious what the better choice was.

Specialty:

• Soul Craft - Lee has the capability to enter a trance-like state where his mind and body become completely attuned to his gift of sword crafting, allowing him to produce blades (along with its other components), possessing strange and abnormal properties. When used, Lee's hair and the entirety of his eyes become pure white. While crafting, white magical energy seeps out from all over his body, in a manner similar to steam. The pre-requisites of using this ability include prior knowledge to what he intends to create, the concepts behind it - whether concrete or abstract - and the materials needed to create it. Lee's attention is solely directed towards crafting alone. He is non-receptive to any form of stimuli and only regains his senses upon finishing whatever he had started; things such as fatigue and hunger usually take their toll on his body afterwards.
• Herbalism - Most often than not, Lee tends to suffer from multiple injuries and conditions after he uses his ability. The need to rely on others to tend to his wounds was becoming irksome, so he was forced to learn to do it by himself.
• Gluttony - Most may not consider this a special skill, but Lee certainly does. He can consume massive amounts of food in seconds; he usually eats anything. Where he puts it? No one really knows.

Ryuuji Drake

Name: Ryuuji Drake
Age: 16
Personality: Ryuuji is the quiet type, seeming to fade into the background at will, and sees and hears more than he lets on, despite having only one eye. Despite his appearance he is studious, and quite intelligent; Ryuu is able to learn things quickly, if it interests him. He is quite fond of his creations and weapons, to the point that touching one without permission may result in a swift slap upside the back of the head. Often gets mistaken for a girl, which has resulted in fights.
Backstory: Ryuuji comes from a long line of both swordsmen and swordsmiths (the former on his mother's side, the latter on his father's side), and both traits showed themselves in him at an early age. Ryuu lost the use of his left eye as a child, and in order to make sure that whatever affected his left eye didn't infect his right eye, his parents had it removed. While his ability to fight took some time to adjust after losing his eye, Ryuuji's smithing ability wasn't affected in the slightest. While he would prefer to go to a school devoted solely to slaying monsters, he caved to his father's wishes and enrolled at Seishun Academy.
Specialty: Jack of all trades, master of none... can being completely average at fighting and smithing be called a specialty? o.0

Karthis is but a boy lost in time, not knowing of what the world contains. He is by nature curious and exploratory in his quest to relearn the world he once knew but also eager to share his stories of the lands he hails from and any comparatively "ancient" knowledge he may possess. In regards to his work, Karthis is noted as one of the hardest working students who shows both a great deal of patience and stubbornness (something which is often joked as being the same thing for him just never to his face). A gentleman by heart, Karthis displays a certain level of grace in everything he does with a certain refined aura around him, something that helps him recover whenever he may say something out of line or potentially offensive. Although he will pass off many things as a joke or as simply a "cultural misunderstanding", insulting his homeland will guarantee him pressing something against the nay-doer's throat.

Karthis has always had a fascentaion with smithing, his passion only matched by his confidence in his own work. Anyone with ears can tell the pride in his voice when speaking of his own work or anything of Myrstrost. He tends to think he knows more and can do more, no doubt hubris on Karthis's part.

^History:

To understand Karthis, one must first understand where he hails from and when he hails from. His homeland, the Kingdom of Myrstrost, sometimes better known to contemporaries as the Forgotten Kingdom. Myrstrost laid claims to the Slivyst Isle where the people had built a magnificent domain with the grandest of castles and structures. However, it was when the so called Four Hundred Year Fog that the kingdom was cutoff from the world. It was no ordinary fog of weather but something else entirely. Whatever the case, the Isle was cut off completely, no one ever coming in and anyone going into the fog never to be seen again. However, it was said that there was a certain ringing noise originating from within the fog which only certain individuals could hear and followed until they too disappeared into the fog.

For nearly 400 years, the Kingdom remained a figure of legend and mystery until one day, the fog cleared revealing the land it had swallowed. Much of the land was in ruins with a good deal less people than originally remembered. And although almost 400 years had passed, for the people left once the sky was clear again, they hadn't felt any time pass at all. Scholars still look into the mysterious events revolving around the Forgotten Kingdom and many an explorers brave its ruins for gold and glory but some never make it out.

Karthis was originally the third generation of the royal family, his position of fourth eldest made it that while he would be powerful, the chances of him inheriting the throne were low. When the fog cleared, the surviving Queen Borealis sent her surviving children barring the eldest son and daughter away to learn of the world, of the 16 she had bore with her beloved husband, only 6 had survived.

Through various dealings, Karthis found himself enrolled in a school dedicated for forging and took on the craft with great haste and skill. He has been called upon more than once in history class to recount the past as he remembers it and his knowledge of how to create the massive greatswords has impressed as many as it has made people envious.

^Speciality:

• Knows the secrets to creating Great Swords, truly massive swords that can stand taller than their creators.
• Extremely skilled at drawing out metal as well as hammering and shaping it and also heat treating/tempering blades.
• When going into Expeditions, he will wield a two handed weapon but refuses to wear but a few small armor plates, citing that he prefer to stay mobile over tanking hits, something he does very well with his constant acrobatic back steps and rolls.

Bio:
As an orphan, Paul began his work in the forge on his hands and knees. He was merely three years old, and most of the metalworking he did was simply sharpening blades the master had made. He was the master smith's favorite apprentice, and as time went on he performed a great many special assignments at his master's request.

At age six, Paul was finally allowed to begin working steel under his master's close supervision. He mostly worked on shafts, leaving the rest to his master to finish, but on a few delightful occasions he was allowed to handle the tip himself. By age nine he could take on whole swords by himself - he'd mastered the process by age ten.

His life as an apprentice ended one day when a barren marquis caught sight of him working the forge and found himself charmed. The marquis and master spoke a while, and a deal was struck: since Paul was outgrowing his master's care, the marquis had little trouble adopting the boy and paying to end his apprenticeship.

In his new home, Paul continued his craft. However, his newly elevated status likewise erected a taller pillar for his works to be displayed upon. The nobility's taste favored simple, yet intricate, swordcraft, which was a big change for the ex-commoner's designs. He took the challenge head-on, refusing to back down, and in merely two years' time he'd struck a unique balance between elegance and utility. It was this, mixed with the fact that it was impossible to get him to keep a shirt on, that led to him being known as The Fabulous French Rapier.

It wasn't until Paul turned 15 that Seishun Academy accepted him into the student body. During his tenure at the academy, Paul gained a reputation as "The Prick of Peace", though the exact details of the nickname have faded into obscurity. Paul's eccentricities have made him popular with both the boys and the girls at the academy, and he can often be found walking around the campus with at least three students at his side.

Despite the many distractions at the academy, Paul strives to perfect his craft. He dreams of a white rain falling upon a perfect blade hewn by his own hands, and often wakes in the middle of the night in a hot sweat, afraid his dream will never come to fruition. Only time will tell if he shall reach fulfillment here at Seishun Academy.

Paul can sharpen blades like no other, providing a keen edge that lasts much longer than it should. Also, as his title would suggest, he focuses on making rapiers, sabers, and other thin blades.
