[OOC] Seishun Academy of Swords, a sword forging RP!

@KOgaming OOC says you need 10 units for a sword and 5 for a scabbard. Scabbard is obligatory for the challenge.

The main forge for creating ingots would indeed be communal for the purposes of creating ingots and whatnot, although some students if they had the money or time to raise the money could potentially have a personal metallurgy forge in their own workshop for the purposes of privately smelting ores together away from prying eyes.

Workshops have whatever your student has built up over their time at Seishun, but since we're at the beginning of this RP your working furnace will just about be standard fare.

You won't have to worry about resources too much, I've calculated it's roughly enough for about 12 swords so as long as everyone takes just the amount they need it'll work out, but if we actually run out I'll add some extra materials because that'd be my fault for not calculating it well enough ^^;

In terms of handles, you could make one out of wood or other materials but for the purposes of this challenge it'd be better to make it out of complete metal because the God doesn't exactly need to hold the Sword.

Your character is also good from me :D You can start posting whenever you'd like.

Ain't it a bit jerkish to take more than you need on this kind of challenge? I think people should be limited to taking just 15 units, otherwise there's nothing barring someone from breaking the game by depraving the other participants from resources.

At least that's what I thought would be the case.

You forget we can steal from other people's forges. Barring taking their sword from under their noses, and out right murder, I imagine taking a few ingots from the person who took 50 wouldn't be remiss.

That's kind of a non-issue here, as GM stated earlier.

That's a looooot of Tamahagane, you only need 15 to make a sword and scabbard in total. Even if she is confused, are you sure you're going to be taking all that material?

She may be planning on making a second weapon if the first doesnt work out.My diagram is an acurate amount of tamahagane and steel. Count The T's and S's to notice she hasnt used it all and only 10 tamahagane and 6 steel. Leaving 6 unused tamahagane and 6 unused steel
