Something I thought of while watching "Logan", are the x gene mutants in the Xmen cinematic universe mostly infertile? The only examples of mutants having children are mutant men with non-mutant women. ex: Magneto had two kids, but with different non-mutant mothers.

Even in Logan, the kids were created with in-vitro fertilization (generally used for infertile couples) with non-mutant mothers and mutant fathers.

@TheUnknowable Logan was incredible btw. That's a very interesting point that I had not considered. For the sake of our story I'd say that mutants can produce children with other mutants but also that it doesn't necessarily ensure that the child will get the x gene. We're kind of in the sweet spot between the movies and the comics where we can kind of pick and choose which "canon" is our own.

I have not seen Logan. I love spoilers for certain things. I am very sad about the ending. I do not want to see that ending. I am going to see the movie Tuesday.

But from what I read the mutants are dead because of a virus or something.

Mutants are not incapable of having children with mutants they were murdered by a genocidal maniac.

I also realized that my character fits the movie version, though, as he's a mutant man that had a child with a nonmutant woman.

Maybe mutant women in the movies are infertile, but men are just less fertile.

Cable is the child of Cyclops and Jean Grey.

Ere go male Mutants can have children with female Mutants.

EDIT: That or they are really trying to piss people off and give Cable new parents.
