@Grimhildr I mean it's the same dude that got called out for not being constructive so, I wasn't surprised he didn't have an answer. Complaining for the sake of complaining is never acceptable when it comes to free platforms.

Though evidently any form of critique tends to be called complaining so, what's the point right?

there's so many people that just complain on the website that certain people have just gotten into the mindset of, "let's discredit everyone who offers criticism towards the site and its moderation. problem solved!".

The last 30 minutes worth of status updates is a perfect example of why we need some sort of limit on the status bar.

@Lady Amalthea I can get a kick out of some good banter on the status bar but currently it's not really doing anything for me other than making me wanna bet on how long this will continue.

30 bucks on another 2 hours.

If they can set limits on how quickly someone can like posts one after another, it seems like putting a timer on those posts is a viable mechanism if it comes down to that. Then again, @mahz does the coding, he can work out the viability. It's just a thought.

If you put a fifteen minute timer on those status updates, then you can't have the same back and forth that's spamming out everyone else's posts. It encourages them to move to thread, PM or Chat to do the group hissy there.

Beats having to delete six million inapropos posts too.

@HeySeuss That would be wonderful. Right now I wouldn't care if it was shut down completely. That bar is the worst feature on the forum because the way people abuse it. I've seen people proclaim themselves pedophiles and when reported I was told it didn't break the rules. I'm honestly sick of it.

@HeySeuss Yeah, it's pretty silly how easy it is to dominate the status sidebar.

I'll make it so that you can continue to rapid fire status updates, but only one of your updates can hit the sidebar in some X minute interval.

what about when you accidentally misspell something in a status? maybe allow for new status input if you delete the previous status submitted within the last n minutes?

Maybe somehow add an activity meter. If someone has a habit of being inactive for months at a time that would be nice to know for 1x1 roleplayed choosing partners.

I'm sure this has been suggested before, but maybe a way to add a POLL to the top of an Interest Check/OOC thread that can be updated by the thread creator. Asking players if they want magic or certain races in a setting etc.

That is why I wanted to reopen it. I want to make a new thread where we look back at five months ago and see what has already been done. I just need to get someone to read my thread concept and ensure that I'm not sperging all over the place.
