THE RULES OF JUMANJI

1. You will be rolling on the Discord server, using our dice bot and typing in !roll 2d6. Be sure to tag me when you do.

2. Only one person in each pair has to roll when it is that pair's turn, first person is the one who gets it.

3. I'll then be rolling to see what outcome you get and messaging you, as well as include a paragraph for the effects. You need to include the rhyme that I will be sending you in your post, and the part that I send you will go at the end of your post and is not to be included when talking about your limits for how much you need to write.

4. There might be an instance (only one I can immediately think of) where I might bump the roll for movement on the game board to be one higher or lower, but only if it comes to that. (there are story reasons as to why this would be the case)

5. Only one pair can roll the dice per round. This is so that the game doesn't end in a few rounds and you can't speed roll for it to make it go more quickly like that. However for some it might be more of 2 or 3 rounds before someone can roll again.

Once the turn order has been decided (the first full round of game play will be determining the order) I will be including it here. And if your pairing's names are bolded, that means that it is your turn.

  • Mary and Bethany (the Jade Monkey)

Remember, the only way to win and have it end is when a game piece reaches the center of the board and the winners call out Jumanji

Location: Living Room

"I really do not want to be partnered up with the idiot who is constantly high and who I'm surprised hasn't found some way to get herself killed," Mira muttered as she headed into the living room with everyone else, and saw that Lance was walking into the room and setting down the board game on the coffee table, waiting for everyone else to show up. "A game sent to us by Loki, either we play it and potentially die, or Loki just randomly starts killing people, it is kind of a no win scenario," she said towards Neil and Carolina when they showed up finally.

Guina you need to get your head out of the clouds sometimes, the entire world does not revolve around you. Loki has messed with people just because he was freaking bored and if he was pissed off at your dad feel like he'd specifically find a way to mind control you and make you kill him or something, Pietro said to her rather bluntly, not even trying to hide how he felt about that entire idea, but he wasn't entirely wrong. There were probably way better ways for Loki to mess with Guin to get back at Tony, and a board game was not the best one. Despite what you and your dad sometimes think, the world does not revolve around the Stark family, at all. He added as he led her into the living room where everyone else was gathered.

"Okay now that everyone is here we can try to get this little game over with I guess," Lance muttered, opening the box again and pulling out the game pieces. He wasn't too thrilled with his partner option all things considering, since he knew that Neil didn't really care much for him and probably more or less hated him it felt like. So to say that the game was going to be interesting was an understatement. Pretty sure Loki was trying to create as much chaos with these pairings. Once the game was setup and everyone had picked their pieces, he stepped back and shoved his hands into his pockets. "So... Who wants to go first?"

"I guess if Bethany doesn't mind it, we can see about going first," she with a shrug, looking at the Jade Monkey figure that was her and Bethany's piece on the board. Picking up the two six sided dice that came with the game, she looked at them for a moment, before shaking them a bit in her hand and rolling them, resulting in a 9 on the dice. The instant the dice hit the board though, there was a loud shockwave that blasted throughout the room that everyone would easily feel, and once the shockwave had vanished the Jade Monkey figure moved on it's own along the board.

"What the hell was that?" she couldn't help but ask, before the mist in the orb at the center started to swirl, before turning into letters and forming the riddle.

A tiny bite can make you itch
Make you sneeze, make you twitch."

"So, based on what I remember that would be the mosquitoes right?" Mira couldn't help but comment after the riddle had been read out loud.

"Okay, then where are the bugs?"

"Uh... You might want to look behind you," Lance said, looking right past where Guin and Pietro were, as right behind them, and from every doorway into the room, there were large bugs that seemingly appeared out of nowhere. There had to be over a hundred of them, and they were all in the mansion, and trying to get into the living room to bite everyone or something like that.

"Well this is off to a fantastic start now isn't it?" Mary commented, before she grabbed some plant seeds from her pocket that started to sprout into vines of sorts and they were whirling around trying to keep the bugs away from not just her, but everyone else. Luckily, she seemed to be doing pretty well with it, the plant life whirling around and seemingly defending just about everyone from the mosquitoes, but they just kept coming, and there were so many.

"Okay, anyone else want to get out of this room or do we want to have a contest for who can kill the most bugs?"

Neil Spellman

Location: Xavier's Institute - Outside Annie and Carolina's Room -> the Living Room
Skills: Minor Molecular Combustion, Telekinetic Combat
Neil was deeply confused as Carolina kissed him on the cheek. He knew that she was British, so it must have been something that friends did to other friends, right? He never looked at her in any sort of romantic light before - his heart stung, thinking briefly about the coy little smile on Sara's face whenever she would kiss him. Besides, Carolina had an dead girlfriend/wife, she was clearly gay and wouldn't have been interested in men. Neil didn't blame her for that. Men were the worst. He always got along better with girls, never really fitting in with the guys. "Alright," he said, smiling slightly. Carolina's optimism was a little bit contagious.

He went along with her until they arrived in the living room. Neil was instantly a little bit wary, seeing that the entire team had gathered there. Edus was present to and his mind jumped to conclusions, wondering if this was some sort of intervention for him? Were they going to kick him out of the X-Men too, just because his aunties and cousin practiced black magic? Was there a rule against burning candles in the rooms here at the X-Mansion? However, his anxiety fueled worst case scenarios were nothing compared to what was actually happening. He peered over Carolina's shoulder, his face draining of color as he read the letter.

Neil's face twisted into one of disgust and horror, seeing that he was paired with the most unstable and foul tempered member of the team - Lance Banner. He would have much preferred being partnered with someone from the D&D group. He even would have traded with Mira to be paired with Iris. At least it was a board game - if he had to be killed by the God of Mischief, playing a board game wasn't the worst way to go. He picked the Crystal Serpent for the two of them, since Lance didn't seem to care, and Neil liked snakes. They symbolized wisdom.

Mary and Bethany went first. Neil studied the riddle, instantly thinking of something to do with bugs - he wanted to say mosquitoes, but then again, a lot of different bugs could cause things like that. And when he saw the bugs appear not too long afterwards, his eyes widened. They were huge, easily each of them bigger than a baseball. He got in front of Annie and Carolina to try to protect them, gritting his teeth as he moved his hands like he was tearing paper. Nothing happened. He tried again, the bugs hard to focus on, and he managed to make ten of them explode like fireworks. There were so many though that it seemed like a futile effort. "We need to go!"

Guin Stark

Location: Xavier's Institute - the Living Room
Skills: Telepathy (Mental Link)
I get that the world doesn't revolve around me - but I'm telling you, this is personal, Guin argued, her words filling Pietro's mind and his alone. She didn't want to make a bigger deal out of this or waste more time on it. In fact, at this point was she basically determined to try to read Loki's mind when they inevitably caught him to confirm that she was right and Loki was doing this to target the Stark Family. He had no reason to want to bother with the rest of the X-Men. They were a young team and while they weren't brand new, they were so unknown in the cosmic grand scheme of things that Galactus hadn't even paid much attention to them until they secured the Ultimate Nullifier.

She glanced at the pieces still available, a bit miffed that the Jade Monkey had already been claimed. She wished that a Ruby Hippo had been an option, but she then spotted the next best thing. It was a bit over the top and loud, but she loved that, scooping up the Gold Lion. "We get to rule Narnia now, right?" she joked, before putting her piece down at the starting position. "I think we should institute some public drinking festivals and fish slapping competitions. Oh and pin the tail on the white witch!" She vastly preferred the Chronicles of Narnia to the Middle Earth books like the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, even if Turkish Delight did not taste good enough to warrant betraying her family.

Guin jumped slightly as the shockwave went off, her ears ringing a little bit. "I think that was the magic McGuffin," she told Mary. She spun around what felt like seconds later, coming face to face with a swarm of mosquitoes. Guin quickly flipped her visor down, very grateful that she had been testing out the Mark 1 Iron Star armor earlier. "Stay back, bae," she warned Pietro. Mary was tangling the bugs in vines, Neil was exploding them, and Guin aimed for a big clump of the bugs. She unleashed a sonic pulse, loving the weapons systems in her armor.

Forty of the bugs were knocked out, dropping to the ground like flies. "I fucking love this."

"You're welcome, lass."

"Let's get the game to the Danger Room, we can seal it up tight and keep the bugs out," she suggested to the team. "Oh and someone should make sure Professor X isn't trapped in a bathroom or something, it'd seriously suck if he took a bunch of bugs to the groin."

Ed Penior

Location: Xavier's Institute - the Living Room
Skills: Thamaturgy: Shield

Alright, Ed decided as the group gathered around the board this was going to be interesting. He picked up the Metallic Elephant and showed it to Annie hoping she would be alright with the choice. He wished there had been a crow, but that was life he supposed, you didn't always get what you preferred. He did feel bad for those paired with people they didn't get along with. He couldn't imagine how he would put up with being paired with Guin.

He placed the piece on a starting square. The mosquitoes could be a serious issue. He frowned and pulled from his pocket a small metal shield that he carried for when he needed the component. He whispered a quick phrase in a made-up language and a shield snapped up around the group. "That will keep the mosquitoes out, hopefully. And if we move then we can take the shield with us."

Elizabeth Flame

Living Room -> Danger Room
Skills: N/A

As they gathered around, ready to start the game, Elizabeth found herself smiling. This would be exciting, she thought. She'd been starting to get bored with a "normal" life of DnD and gardening, so this was just what she needed, a game tailored to adventure. Death, in her mind, wasn't particularly a possibility given the regular invincibility of youth and the powers she had. That was, up until the first card was pulled. She found screaming, overtaken by fear. Clutching herself, she closed her eyes, paralyzed at the swarm of insects before her. She hated bugs so fucking much, and these were worse than anything she'd seen before.

Without really thinking, she knew she was given a place to run, and that was exactly what she was going to do. She couldn't be around these, their eyes, they skin it all squicked her out too much. So her feet moved her towards the Danger Room, moving faster than she knew she was able, her heart almost pounding out of her chest. She felt sick, and her skin was clammy, as she threw herself into the room, covering her head and trying to keep herself from crying. This was some fresh hell straight out of a nightmare, and it threw her off balance in a really terrible way. As she breathed, she tried to calm herself down, but kept finding her hands shaking uncontrollably.

Carolina Reed & Bethany Bell

Location: Xavier's Mansion - Living Room -> Main Entrance
Skills: Shadow Travel

Carolina looked at the list of pairings, she didn't really mind being teamed up with Elizabeth as she looked at the gameboard for a moment and sighed slightly. "Well this sounds like a nice game night." Carolina said, knowing that it was a version of the game created by Loki, she smiled when Annie came over to her and hugged her best friend tightly happy to see her as well. When Mary decided to start up the game as well. She felt the weird shockwave going on around the room and then stared at the riddle that appeared in the middle of the gameboard and instantly came up with mosquitoes as well which Carolina really didn't like either and cringed slightly.

A few seconds later there were a shit ton of really huge mosquitoes blocking every entrance to the room, and then her partner instantly fleeing the room, feeling a little bit hurt and annoyed that Elizabeth instantly fled the room. Carolina just grabbed the Obsidian Crocodile, putting it onto the board with the others, Carolina blushed ever so slightly when Neil stepped in front of her and Annie to protect them from the mosquitoes.

Bethany watched as the bugs instantly appeared, Mary, Neil and Guin instantly taking the offensive to attack the large number of bugs in the room. And Elizabeth instantly fleeing to the Danger Room that Guin had suggested, it was a bit of a ways off from the living room though as Beth thought of something as she reached down and picked up the gameboard itself. "I'll try and get us to the Danger Room then." Bethany said as she closed her eyes and manipulated everyone's shadow and shadow traveled them all. Only for them to instantly reappear at the main entrance of the mansion itself.

"Well that wasn't really suppose to happen." Bethany said a little bit awkwardly as she rubbed the back of her neck slightly, she hadn't really shadow traveled that many people before. She easily could do it with just herself and one other person like back on Galactus' ship when she tried to do the same thing with herself and Mary. Only to end up in the wrong cell filled with a bunch of pissed off Shi'ar aliens.

Iris Rivers

Location: Living Room -> Main Entrance
Skills:

"Oh, but I have found a way to get myself killed," Iris replied to the mumbling Mira walked into the living room, before giving a lazy sweep of her arm, indicating the group she'd joined months prior, full of young superpowered warriors who constantly put themselves in harm's way. "It just hasn't worked yet." Her pure amusement in her own comment was visible in her genuine grin, though it quickly shifted to a exaggerated pout as Mary grabbed the jade monkey. "Aw beans, I was hoping we were gonna get the monkey..." she mumbled, instead hoisting up the rhinoceros and putting it in place. Once it was there, she sauntered towards Mira, taking her place next to the girl. "Ours is the rhino, so prepare yourself for hours and hours of 'horny' jokes," she told Mira, her voice low. She liked to treat Mira like a friend, even though the girl despised her. Hell, maybe Mira despising her was why treating her like a friend was so fun.

The blonde girl flinched backwards when the shockwave blasted outward, letting out a huff from her nose as the evil demon board game proved itself to be real. As the riddle was read out, Iris pulled her cigarette from her mouth, and snuffed it out using the side of her mug, before tossing the half-smoked joint onto the coffee table for later. She watched as the bugs began to fly into the room, causing one of their members to freak out and run away. Upsilon entered with them, as if he could hear his powers might be needed, which wasn't unlikely. He tilted his head questioningly, but Iris shook her head in response. Her abilities were volatile, chaotic, and she didn't want to be the one to burn down the mansion. Luckily before the bugs could get too close, Bethany wrapped them in shadows and dragged them away, to the entrance of the mansion. It didn't take a genius to figure out she'd meant to take them to the Danger Room, but this was better than nothing.

"I mean, it's leagues above being stuck inside with a mosquito swarm!" Iris optimistically said, shooting a smile to Bethany and raising her mug to her. She then looked to the others expectantly. "Sooo...there wouldn't happen to be a super secret passage to the Danger Room I don't know about, would there? Because that would be convenient." Iris had been living in the mansion for long enough to know the way to the Danger Room, but she always assumed with a mansion so massive, there were bound to be secret doors all over the place that only the senior members knew about.

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Living Room ---> Main Entrance
Skills:

Antoinette watched Ed pick up a game piece for them and she nodded, giving him a smile. She was disappointed there wasn’t a crow as well. It would have been much more fitting for them but an elephant wasn’t bad. They are a fairly large creature. She remained seated with Carolina for the time though and was there when the shockwave went off after the first move was made.
Antoinette gripped onto Carolina’s arm instinctively and watched as bugs appeared in all the doorways and moved towards them. Neil jumped in front of them and blasted a couple of bugs, which reminded Antoinette of her new firework power but Guin took out a bunch more before suggesting they get out of there.
Antoinette stood up, pulling Carolina with her but before they could move, Bethany shadowed travelled them to the main entrance. Antoinette looked at Bethany and patted her arm. ”Let’s just get going,” she noted. Hopefully the Danger Room would protect them but Ed’s shield was doing a great job as well.

Your argument is dumb, since you say that, but he hates his brother Thor about a million times more then any other Avenger. So why isn't he messing with him?

"Xavier isn't here," Mary said with a slight eye roll towards Guin, "He and Beast headed off to go give a talk on genetics at a university, so that's a lucky thing." Glancing around at what was going on she did agree that getting into the Danger Room was probably their best bet. However, she wasn't all too sure if sealing the door was a good idea. Given the fact that Loki might have messed with a few things, the idea of still being able to get the hell out of the room if need be seemed like it would be important.

"I can try to get us down there," Lance muttered, his hands having a soft glow to them, though it seemed to take a moment for his powers to start working. A blinding flash of light lit up the area, and he managed to be partially successful as he got Mary, Ed, Bethany, Iris and Annie down to the Danger Room, the others were still stuck upstairs with the mosquitoes. Luckily though, they did have a speedster in the area who could probably rather quickly get everyone else down below hopefully before anything horrible happened. A mosquito bite would be horrible thing at the moment. "Damn it... Was trying to get everyone down here without problems, oh well..." he muttered, shoving his hands into his pockets again and leaning up against the wall.

Meanwhile, back upstairs where everyone else was in the entrance way, the mosquitoes followed the group out of the living room and instantly started swarming. "Okay, clear a path and I can see if I can grab everyone else in a big group, or it might be two trips, just give me a moment."

"If you have to take two trips I'll go in the last one, I can probably break you through the bugs, and Guin's suit would protect her from their bites," Mira commented, glancing towards him before the bugs surrounded them yet again. "You might want to plug your ears," she added before she let out a loud shriek that literally punched right through the mosquito swarm, allowing Pietro to grab Neil and Carolina, just barely avoiding getting bitten by the bugs as he raced them right outside of the Danger Room.

Setting them down, Pietro looked at the others, "I'll be right back," he said to the rest of the group, before racing off back upstairs.

Meanwhile, upstairs where Mira and Guin were, things were getting to be a bit problematic. Unfortunately for them, they didn't have a shield of any sorts anymore, and were completely being swarmed. A mosquito tried to latch itself onto Guin's helmet, but luckily for her, the bug wasn't able to get through it. A few others at various points on her armor were trying to bite her, but they all were failing at it. Mira was shrieking a few more times next to her in order to attempt to keep the bugs at bay, but her attempts were failing as the swarm kept getting closer and closer. There was a gust of wind, signaling Pietro's return and she let out another shriek in order to make it so that they could zip out of there. "Hurry up let's go."

Pietro raced up to the pair of them, grabbing the two and racing off, but there was one slight problem. The opening that Mira had created was small, and was already closing up by the time they were racing out, and Mira felt something pierce her arm, but whatever it had been was gone in a second, and it didn't seem to leave a mark or something. It was kind of hard to tell running at super speed. There was something that Guin would be able to notice, and no one else would. Probably because she was used to zipping around at Pietro's typical speed, but given the fact that they were being chased by murder mosquitoes he'd be running faster. To her, it seemed like he was running slower then he typically would.

"Okay away from the murderous bugs hooray!" Pietro said as he raced into the Danger Room and shut the door behind him as he set Mira and Guin down.

"I'm not sure if sealing off the Danger Room entirely is a good idea..." Mary commented once everyone was in the area.

"I mean, considering all of the possibilities that could come from that board the ability to move around constantly might be beneficial, but who knows, Loki might have messed with the outcomes, so who knows what's going to happen... Can we just move on, who wants to roll the dice next? Since preferably we can reach the end of this game quickly, hopefully anyway."

Neil Spellman

Location: Xavier's Institute - Main Entrance -> the Danger Room
Skills: N/A
Neil's head was spinning slightly as they reappeared at the front entrance. He knew that his body hadn't really moved - but at the same time, they had all moved incredibly fast in order to be in one spot and then pop up in another. It was giving him a headache just trying to rationalize the dizzying effects of Bethany's darkness infused teleportation. He had no idea whether or not there were any secret passages, but Banner apparently had been holding out on all of them, transporting Annie and some of the others away. Guin had to bring up Sara and Neil's eyes watered, trying not to think about her - maybe he needed to do another cord cutting ritual. The wounds were still so deep.

"Knowing Banner, he probably dropped them in an ocean," Neil muttered under his breath. He couldn't spend too much time being mad at Lance though, chaffing with irritation at having to be paired with him. The bugs were back and he barely put his hands up to his ears in time as Mira let out a shriek, clearing a small path. The next few seconds were a blur and suddenly, he was in the Danger Room with Carolina. He stumbled forward and ended up half sitting, half kneeling on the ground as he waited for everything to steady around him.

"...Is there a trash can somewhere... I um... I'm gonna..." Neil then hurled onto the ground, losing everything he had eaten that day and then some.

Guin Stark

Location: Xavier's Institute - Main Entrance -> the Danger Room
Skills: Telepathy (Mental Link & Mind Switch)
Guin blinked slightly, adjusting to the rapid change in her surroundings. Traveling with Bethany felt just about as fast as traveling with Pietro, only Pietro carried her bridal style which tended to give her a heads up that they were about to move quickly. There wasn't any flirty or romantic cue like that from the gothic member of the X-Men. "Damn girl, you're getting the hang of that - wrong location ignored, no one got trapped inside an indestructible box on a spaceship." She didn't notice the way Neil winced a bit at her comment alluding to his ex girlfriend, Sara Grey. "There probably is some sort of underground passageway - too bad no one has seismic sense and can stomp on the ground to find it, unless you know about one, Mare?"

From what she knew about Xavier, she figured there had to be secret passageways all over the X-Mansion. In fact, she would have been concerned for the old man's mental stability if there weren't at least three separate tunnel systems. They were able to fly the Blackbird out from underneath the basketball court if they wanted to after all. The X-Mansion was basically a glorified Clue board. Maybe they were lucky that Loki had watched Jumanji and not Clue then. Lance transported about half of the group away in a beam of light - had he been practicing his powers or googling for ideas on what he could do with them? And it was about time, since the bugs apparently had GPS tracking and had rushed out of the living room and found them at the main entrance.

The bugs were uselessly slamming themselves up against her suit. "Note to self - invest in bug spray for the Mark II," Guin mused. Pietro took Neil and Carolina off and in a few seconds he was back, grabbing Guin and Mira. Her helmet helped with the loud shrieks from Mira, preventing her from needing hearing aids like Neil. She frowned a bit though as they ran, noticing that he was significantly slower. Given his protective instincts (more overprotective ones, really), Guin would have thought he would be faster than normal. Yo, what gives? You're running like a turtle.

What are you talking about? Pietro responded, sounding a bit confused.

Either my perception of the world has vastly sped up or you're going slower than a little kid being asked to clean their bedroom.

...Wait seriously?

Uh, yeah, I wouldn't joke about this. I'm worried about you. Did you accidentally take some Mutant Growth Hormone or something? That stuff is terrible for you. I should know, I tried it once in high school and my dad almost killed me.

Nooooo I didn't... That's weird, like, really weird...

Guin frowned, looking around the group. Neil was vomiting, which she could understand - not everyone was used to running at the sort of speeds Pietro operated at. Some people got bad cases of whiplash from it if Pietro forgot to hold their necks for instance. A lot of people puked. She reached out and took Pietro's hand, the glove of her armor opening up so she could make skin contact. She felt sluggish and out of practice as she tried to use her powers, but eventually, her world seemed to shift.

She was in control of Pietro's body now. Usually, being Pietro meant everything looking like the speed of the video had been slowed down dramatically - like if someone had set everything for 10% of the ordinary playback speed. But now, things were barely distorted - they seemed to be more at 90%, maybe even 95%. "Guys, something's wrong with Pietro's powers - and mine too. Is anyone else feeling off?" Guin asked, although she was in Pietro's body, so to everyone else it would seem like Pietro was talking in the third person.

Ed Penior

Location: Xavier's Institute - The Danger Room
Skills: Thamaturgy: Shield

The next couple of minutes were unusual. First, Bethany shadow traveled the group to the front entrance. Then, Lance light traveled him a few others into the danger room. Ed had been teleported before, but both Bethany and Lance's powers were different than any of his cousins who were good at teleportation. He considered how his body felt, and for a moment he thought he might be joining Neil with vomiting, but then it settled down.

"I do notice something is off. Not sure what it is though." Ed answered Pietro(?) question. If that was Guin in Pietro that made Ed really uncomfortable. He supposed there was wiggle room since they were married and consent might have been given. But it was just unpleasant. "I think the faster we get through this the better." He dropped his shield spell, it wasn't serving them here and now, though he might need to put it up again quickly. He picked up the dice and let them drop at a slight angle onto the board. A five and a one for a total of six landed face up.

Don't be fooled, it isn't thunder.
Staying put would be a blunder.

As soon as the orb reveals its riddle, the ground immediately starts to shake, as if hundreds of feet were heading their way.

"Looks like we should be teleporting out of here again." Ed frowned.

Carolina Reed & Bethany Bell

Location: Xavier's Mansion - Main Entrance -> The Danger Room
Skills: N/A

"It's certainly a lot harder to transport more people instead of just myself or one other person." Bethany said, she had been practicing it more but it was certainly useful as well. She watched as the bugs started to follow them all into the main enterance of the X-Mansion, before Lance teleported herself, Lance, Mary, Annie and Ed into the Danger Room itself turning to look over at Lance. "When did you learn to do that?" Bethany asked as she was curious Lance had been coming and leaving the mansion at weird times lately for some reason as well, Bethany set the gameboard back down onto the floor for now.

Carolina covered her eyes slightly when Lance teleported about half of them out of the entryway to the X-Mansion, surprised that he actually could do that as well. But the bugs started to swarm some more, luckily Pietro managed to speed herself and Neil into the Danger Room, feeling a little bit dizzy at the sudden speed as she walked into the Danger Room itself. Carolina kneeled down seeing Neil vomiting onto the ground. "Neil, are you okay?" Carolina asked, when Pietro managed to get Mira and Guin into the room itself she did have to agree with Mary that they shouldn't seal off the room.

"We better hope that the bugs don't make their way down here then." Bethany said crossing her arms over her chest as she looked over at the others when Guin used her powers on Pietro and switched with him. "Nope, I feel completely fine right now." Bethany said, as she gave a slight shrug at Guin's question. "I feel fine to." Carolina told Guin when Ed made his turn and the next riddle appeared and the ground started to shake. "This better not be an actual earth quake." Bethany said letting out a slight groan they had just gotten into the Danger Room.

Elizabeth Flame

Danger Room
Skills: N/A

Elizabeth started to calm down as more people filed into the Danger room, and as they did her face turned bright red. She didn't mean to have run away like that, but it was more of an instinctual response than anything else. Bugs grossed her out, and bugs that were gigantic terrified her more than anybody could possibly describe. She averted her eyes from the group for a moment, before saying, "S-sorry about that. I just.. got scared." She hated running from problems, it wasn't the type of person she wanted to be, but some things just took her over and compelled her to act. "I promise not to let that happen again, is everyone alright?" She asked, looking over all who entered.

Standing up from her near fetal position, she inhaled, and let out a deep sigh. As least this room was spacious enough for her to look around and feel safe. She wasn't claustrophobic by any means, but open spaces were better than tight and confined ones for calming down. She thought that perhaps what had triggered such a strong emotional response might have been the fact that those mosquitoes really were a cross of two of her biggest fears, needles and bugs. The idea of being pierced by one of them and having her blood sucked out sent a kind of chill through her that she hadn't quite experienced before. Hopefully then, this would not be a repeated event, and she could leave this problem behind her.

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Main Entrance ---> Danger Room
Skills:

Antoinette was first surrounded by darkness and then she was surrounded by light. Once they made it to the Danger Room, she had to blink a few times, letting her eyes adjust before she realized not all of them made it. She turned around in a circle, looking to see if anyone was hiding but one could really hide in the Danger Room. She looked at Lance curiously, on the same wave as Bethany in wondering when he learned to teleport when the others arrived in two groups thanks to Pietro.
Antoinette watched Neil vomit helplessly and then Carolina a moment later, bent down to see if he was okay. ”Perhaps if you sit down on the floor Neil and stare at the wall a moment, that may help the dizziness,” she suggested. It was two different things, going through compressed space to speed. She could understand how it would be very disorienting.
Antoinette looked back towards the game board which followed them, and watched Ed pick up the dice to roll. Antoinette moved to just beside his elbow and watched the dice fall and their piece move. She smiled a little at the riddle. She loved this sort of thing. The ground started to shake below them but if the riddle was to be believed, it was not thunder and Antoinette did not believe it was an earthquake either as Bethany suggested. Antoinette’s blue eye started to shine brighter as she thought perhaps it was a herd of rhinos coming for them. Indeed, she did know that it was rhinos coming for them but also a herd of different animals. Animals that she couldn’t get a read on. ”We have a herd of animals coming for us. Rhino’s but also several other kinds that I am unsure of,” she informed the group.
Antoinette smiled at Ed and patted his arm. ”Excellent roll. We might need your shield again,” she said kindly.

And if your pairing's names are bolded, that means that it is your turn or we are currently dealing with the after effects of your turn.

  • Mary and Bethany (the Jade Monkey)
  • Ed and Annie (Metallic Elephant)

Remember, the only way to win and have it end is when a game piece reaches the center of the board and the winners call out Jumanji

Location: The Danger Room
Skills: Light Manipulation, Sonic Screech

"Guina, mind switching back now, and nothing is wrong with your powers if you were able to switch, since seems like it might just be mine really or something," Pietro said to her, not really too sure what was supposedly going on, since to him everything had seemed fine and he hadn't noticed anything off about his own powers.

"No idea if something is wrong with my powers... Secondly there is a different riddle for the earthquake, just can't remember what... As for where I learned that it's a bit complicated..." he said, shoving his hands deeper into his pockets and not really looking at anyone, "...I might have met the God of Light on Asgard," he muttered the last words under his breath, barely audible to those near him.

"Look, enough talking, I'm with Ed, quicker we get through this the better..."

"How about I go with the next suggestion of SCATTER!!!!" Mira said, before the wall into the Danger Room was smashed open, and a roar of animals came charging into the room. It was a rather large selection of animals that came running into the area.

Mary instantly rolled out of the way to avoid getting trampled by one of the animals as they charged into the room. She glanced over at the others, somewhat hoping others were fast enough to get out of the way of the animals. Getting your head flattened by an elephant's foot or something would be a horrible way to go when she thought about it. A rhino slammed directly into Bethany, shaking it's head and throwing her against the ground, and she hit hard, blood was starting to come from the back of her head.

As if the dice knew who had been the one who had rolled the dice, another rhino slammed into Ed, throwing him backwards and knocking him to the ground. However he luckily didn't hit as hard as Bethany, so there wasn't any blood, just a few bumps and bruises. Then, crashing through the herd of animals, came along the elephant. It charged along, and slammed not into just one person, oh no, the elephant had to slam into two people. Unfortunately the two people it slammed into were one pairing, as it was Lance and Neil. Both of them ended up getting somewhat trapped in the elephant's path, and it threw both of them 30 feet away from the other animals. Neil would have several bumps and bruises, as well as what looked to be a decent sized gash on the back of his head.

"Shit," Lance muttered, coughing a bit as he managed to get up somewhat, his skin was clearly starting to look a little green as he was sitting there taking deep breaths. Blood was coming from his head from where he hit the ground.

"We need to either get out of here and keep playing, or stay in here and keep playing, either way we stick with the death traps, thoughts on that?" Mary then said, before looking over and noticing that the animals weren't just crashing through the far wall, oh nope, they had to be doing something special. The animals were turning and looked to be heading straight back towards them. "...Going to say that we probably want to get out of here, and now."

Iris Rivers

Location: Main Entrance -> Danger Room
Skills: Survival Skills, Pyrokinesis

The perpetually high X-Woman didn't seem all too phased by the series of teleportations, one right after the other. The only real effect it had on her was giving her an expression of mild shock, which she blinked away in a manner of moments. She shot a sympathetic frown Neil's way, seeing that he didn't handle the trip nearly as well, before looking over to Lance, one eyebrow raised. "Oh man, that's new. First Bellflower, then you? I wonder who our next teleporter will be...I wonder if Upsilon and I could, like, fire teleport. Maybe we should try. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?" Iris quipped, trying to lighten the intense mood. She quickly flipped her mind from her bard duties to instead think back on the index of wilderness survival tips her mom taught her in Oregon. A long list of mosquito tips came to the forefront of her mind. "Mary, what kind of seeds do you have? Rosemary, lavender, basil, and lemongrass are all natural mosquito repellants. If we can grow a bunch at the entrance of the Danger R-" she began, but stopped when she felt the ground rumble.

Her gaze shifted to Annie as the girl did her fun psychic thing, predicting a stampede coming there way. Oddly enough, it was comforting to know that the rumbling wasn't thunder, or else Iris very well might've made like Elizabeth and ran for cover. Instead, she held onto her mug with both hands, eyes scanning the room, waiting for the animals to bust in. It didn't make it any less surprising when they eventually did. They plowed through a number of her teammates, but either due to dumb luck, her training in the maneuver-focused art of tai chi, or a combination of both, she managed to get herself out of the way, clutching her pecan mug tightly to her chest. She was just as dazed as everyone else as the beasts kept moving to the other side of the danger room, but instead of plowing through the other wall to go become someone else's problem, they turned, and seemed to be intent on coming back at them. As they did, however, Iris caught sight of Upsilon stepping out the hole they'd just made, walking through the rubble.

"Upsilon...RAISE THE WALL OF FIRE!" She yelled in a loud, booming voice, raising her arms into the air like a powerful witch drawing upon the earth for a devastating attack. A line of bright blue flames sprung from the ground in between the X-Men and the animals, rising to the impressive height of...two feet. Iris lowered her arms, looking back at her delusion with a frown. "Come on, dude, raise it a little higher than that." Her voice came out whiny, a stark contrast from the powerful shout she'd released moments earlier. Upsilon stood there motionless for a few seconds, before pointing over to the flames. When Iris turned to look, they were a foot higher. "When I said 'a little' I didn't actually mean a little!"

Carolina Reed & Bethany Bell

Location: Xavier's Mansion - The Danger Room
Skills: Shadow Travel

Carolina turned to look over at Elizabeth to apologize for her running, she was still a little bit annoyed with the fact that she even did that in the first place still, she could understand being scared though. "Just try and not run away, we are a team so we should probably stick together to, I am your partner for this little death game after all as well to." Carolina said told her then she heard a loud crashing sound and a number of animals came stampeding through the room rather quickly. Slamming into Neil, Lance, Bethany, and Ed as well, she became worried for them all as Carolina rolled out of the way.

Carolina quickly ran over towards Neil seeing a few bumps and bruises from her she helped him back up to his feet, looking over at the animals as they went to the far side of the room looking like they were going to make another pass at them. "I'm all for getting the hell out of here." Carolina said looking over at everyone as Iris tried and failed to create a wall of fire.

Bethany screamed loudly as she was flung across the room by a stampeding rhino, getting a little wave of deja vu back to when Mesmero messed with her head and hurt both Carolina and Annie by flinging them across the room. She hit the floor with a really hard thud, everything around her sounded muddled. Bethany could feel something wet on her forehead. She reached up to touch it and got a good look at it seeing that it was blood.

Everything was really spinning to her as Beth slowly got up to her feet and stumbled slightly, looking at the animals as they were about to start another pass. She extended her hands forward her shadow connecting to all of the stampeding animals, as they all fell through sending the animals all outside towards the front of the property. "There raging animal problem solved.." Bethany said as she dropped down to her knees as she felt extremely dizzy.

Ed Penior

Location: Xavier's Mansion - The Danger Room
Skills: Sympathetic Magic: Healing

Ed had been about to conjure his shield back up again. He considered leaving it up at this point. When the animals that Annie predicted stormed through the room and tossed him like a sack of potatoes. He hit a wall and saw stars for a second. That was going to hurt in the morning. If they made it.

Bethany blessedly was able to shadow transport all of the animals out of the danger room. "Thank you, Bethany." He stood up and looked around, there were several people with more than bruises on them. Now that his turn was over he could spend the time to cast a healing spell. "Who wants some healing? If you guys can keep me from being trampled by the next thing I'll get started on that."

Ed was particularly worried about Neil, Lance, and Bethany who had collapsed to her knees. All three of them had blood coming from their wounds. That made his job easier. He went to each and if permitted wiped a finger taking a small amount of their blood, careful to not cross-contaminate it and started his spell. It was a cruel reminder to him as he set about the task of how easily his sister cast healing magic. She usually hadn't even needed the blood of hair to do it. For her it wouldn't have taken even half the time it took him to cast, she had been good at healing magic she could cast it instantaneously. He needed to get better at this if he was to be even slightly helpful in the future.

For Neil, the magic took easily and he was as healthy as he had been at the start of the day. Bethany, it wasn't as kind for and only partially healed her wounds. Lance, maybe it was something with his DNA, but nothing happened.

Neil Spellman

Location: the Danger Room
Skills: N/A
The ground was shaking and Neil gulped slightly. The riddle was far too ominous, basically telling them that they had to find somewhere else to move to. The only other place in the mansion he could think of as well fortified as the Danger Room would have been the hangar that housed the Blackbird - or technically the Blackbird itself. His gut told him though that strategically picking locations was going to just force the game to make them move again and again, until they would have exhausted all their options. And more horrifyingly, the bugs could be anywhere by now - maybe they were even moving through the catacombs of the school, hunting them down - could they smell fear? "I uh, just a bit of motion sickness..." he answered Carolina meekly. He was already feeling better though, as standing still was helping.

Annie was being a bit too cheerful about a stampede of rhinos coming to run them all over. He had nearly gotten hit by cars during trips to New York City and that was as close to being trampled that he ever wanted to be. He really liked not being a pancake. His face twisted into a frown as he heard Banner mention something about Asgard, only to then distinctly hear Lance brag about meeting the God of Light. Everything was handed to Banner on a silver platter and he still felt the need to act like a traumatized victim and abuse everyone around him with his anger. He hoped the God of Light beat Banner up. It would have been a nice favor for society at large.

He barely had time to be annoyed with Guin making things all about her again when the stampede came to fruition. A giant elephant slammed into him, throwing him thirty feet backwards with ease. The Danger Room didn't really seem to care about helping him out, as Neil slammed into the ground, acquiring tons of scrapes and bruises, as well as a nasty gash on the back of his head. There was a silver lining to all of this - he finally was distracted from thinking about his break up with Sara. "Th-thanks," he said to Carolina as she got him to relative safety. Neil looked on at Iris' puny wall of fire with dazed confusion. He blinked and the animals were gone. His head injury must have been pretty bad. Like magic, his wounds healed themselves and closed up, as if it hadn't happened.

"...Thanks," he then said softly, looking over at Edus. No one else on the team could heal.

Guin Stark

Location: the Danger Room
Skills: Telepathy (Mind Switch)
They really couldn't have nice things. People also didn't really seem to believe in taking a break between dice rolls, as Edus Penis (she really had to wonder how any mother would name her kid something like that) rolled the dice and brought on the latest set of horrors. There were still a bunch of bugs hunting them down and trying to kill them, but apparently it was more fun to just have everything happen at once. If that was the strategy they were using, then they might as well speed roll. She hated games that were basically just glorified dice mechanics. Random numbers as a basis for luck and success were irritating.

"One sec," Guin said, before switching back and finding herself in her own body. "My idea is - and it's right, since I'm basically always right - is that if I switch with something, whatever was wrong with their powers for them will go for me as well. Probably a nice little feature from the God of Drag." Her eyes shot up in excitement as Lance mentioned that he went to Asgard. "You went to freaking Asgard without me? Your best friend?!" Guin complained. "That is so not cool!"

But before she could press him for more details, the stampede arrived, whacking a good portion of their team around. Pietro snatched her up despite her Iron Star Armor and rushed her out of the way of the animals without giving her a second to protest. Iris made a small wall of flames, reminding her of the Fire Lord's Throne Room in Avatar. Bethany was the real MVP though, using her shadows to vanish all of the animals. "Okay, Bethany, you are definitely going to get drafted by the Avengers if you keep that up!" Guin gushed. "That was the most amazing display of powers I've ever seen - and I saw Thor drink 200 things of beer in a row once."

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Danger Room
Skills:

A moment later the animals slammed through the wall of the Danger Room, rendering it useless in keeping anything out and them safe. Somehow, Antoinette managed to miss getting any damage but several others were hit and thrown from the stampeding animals. Antoinette stepped forward, her purple eye glowing as she thought of an illusion but somehow, Bethany pushed herself up and shadow travelled all of the animals out of the danger room.
The sudden silence was deafening and Antoinette looked toward Bethany, hurrying over to her encase she collapsed. ”That was incredible,” she complimented. Antoinette’s partner Ed came over and healed Bethany a little bit before he moved on to Lance who had been hit as well. Neil, it looked like, was healed completely. Bethany was not a hundred percent but she was better. ”Perhaps we should pick up a first aid kit to bring along with us.” They had Ed to help heal and some of them had a self-healing factor, but not all of them.

Elizabeth Flame

Danger Room -> Jungle
Skills: Transmutation

Elizabeth stood up as Rhinos burst into the room, ready to actually put up a fight this time and not run. Sure, massive fucking animals were scary and all, but not the kind of "run for your life and don't look back" kind of scary that insects were. Leveling her arm art them, she was ready to take a shot at the monsters, before Bethany dealt with the problem herself. Grinning, she turned her head and said, "That was absolutely wicked, nice work!" She nodded and smiled at her. Shadow travel seemed like a pretty cool power to have, especially if it could be used to clear rooms like that. Now she just had to hope that they wouldn't come back.

Stepping towards the hole, Elizabeth said, "I might be able to do something about that, give me a minute." Peering over at it and holding her hands out, she approached the rim of it. Transmutation was still something she was learning to master, but hopefully it would prove useful here. Resting her hand on the edges of the hole, she started massaging and working the matter, trying to coax is closer and closer together to patch the hole the rhinos made. It felt a bit like stretching pizza dough, the matter wanted to generally move how she wanted it to, but it also wanted to spring back, and if she applied too much pressure, it felt like she'd tear a new hole. Being careful, she settled for just shrinking it enough to hopefully keep something out. "There, this should make things a bit better." Walking back over she picked up the dice, and gave them a roll. "Let's do this then!" She said, as the dice came up as an eleven, and as he piece finished moving, the riddle came out:

In the jungle you must wait
Until the dice read five or eight.

That never was a good outcome to receive, and unfortunately for everyone, since people were paired up, this resulted in not one, but two people receiving the outcome. One minute Elizabeth and Carolina were both there, the next they were gone in a flash of light as they ended up trapped within the game itself. To them, they'd be able to see themselves surrounded by trees in a large jungle of sorts, and nearby there was the sounds of something moving through the trees, heading straight for them, but they couldn't see what it was.
