Personal Style: Nakoa only got to dress very basically for most of his youth as that was all that was available to poor farmers. However, as soon as he moved to the capital of Madripoor, his whole outlook on dressing changed. With plenty of cheap clothing coming in from nearby China, Nakoa had access to nearly infinite options. He tried out bright colors, the goth look, and even gender non conforming styles. Currently he mostly wears comfortable but stylish clothing, like a dress shirt and jeans. No color is off the table for him as he views fashion as the best way he can represent himself.

Personality: Nakoa is a person who is always trying to learn more. Whether that be learning new skills or by learning how to be a better person. As he spent most of his early life in a small village, Nakoa has a tendency to trust other people. This also extends to romantic relationships as Nakoa quite often will jump into one right after meeting someone. Unfortunately most of these relationships don’t pan out as they had little in common.
Nakoa is also trying to make the world a better place, mostly from being a white hat hacker. While he is breaking the law, Nakoa justifies it in his mind by saying that he is helping people in need, whether that be giving them money or taking down evil corporations. The cause of mutant rights is also very close to Nakoa as he wants to help his people. So far this has been through hacking, though he has floated the idea of using his powers to directly fight for mutantkind. However, his time in the fight club has left Nakoa resistant to the notion of getting into a fight.
It can take Nakoa a long time to make a serious decision, usually relying on the opinions of those around him. As such he sometimes misses opportunities while sticking to his status quo. As of last New Years, Nakoa has made a resolution to be more decisive. This is all part of his attempts to better himself since coming to the mansion.

How did you discover your powers: By the age of thirteen, Nakoa was regularly working on other farms in his village, trying to raise money for his family. On one such job where he was accompanied by two of his brothers, Nakoa would be picking vegetables out of the ground. As he did so, two men emerged from the tree line, wielding large knives.
Nakoa’s younger brother Suna began to scream, only for one of the men to grab him and cover his mouth. The men demanded money from both the brothers and the owner of the farm. Nakoa stated that he had no money, which just agitated the man. Fearing for his brother’s life, Nakoa inadvertantly raised his hand and shot forth a baseball sized red gemstone. It struck the man holding Suna right in the head causing him to collapse immediately. The other man would run believing a gun to have been fired. The three brothers would decide to keep this power a secret, lying to the police when they arrived, saying that Nakoa had thrown a rock at the robber.
General History: Born in the small village of Bukit Hutan, literally meaning forested hill, Nakoa was the third of six children. The Kaban family lived in poverty as rural parts of the nation of Madripoor became harder and harder to live in as the government neglected the country side. The Kaban family had owned a fruit orchard, making decent money for their part of the world. But a series of unnaturally cold winters would kill off the orchard.
Nakoa was born during one such winter, during a once in a lifetime blizzard. The snow storm meant that the Kabans couldn’t reach the hospital, instead having Nakoa on the side of the road. He would be considered a miracle baby for surviving the harsh storm. Nakoa would be showered with attention until his mother became pregnant again, this time with twin sisters.
Nakoa would be both a good older and younger brother, getting along with all of his siblings. Even as a child he always tried to help, taking odd jobs around the village to help supplement his family’s income loss over the failing orchard. While growing up, Nakoa would be particularly close to his eldest brother Pali, and his youngest brother Suna. It was while on a job together that they were attacked by bandits, here to extort money from the farmers. Nakoa would use his powers for the first time to fight them off. These powers would remain a secret between the three brothers.
Later that year, Pali would end up leaving his village for the big city of Madripoor itself. Nakoa would miss him greatly, but would also grow closer to Suna, becoming a mentor figure to the young boy. However the good memories couldn’t last. Things financially for the Kabans became so bad that they could no longer keep the older children at the house.
Given that he was fifteen, almost sixteen, Nakoa had to leave. His parents had recommended going to a nearby village for work, but he decided to instead follow Pali to the big city. After tracking his brother down in Madripoor, Nakoa would learn that his brother was also a mutant, and that’s why he decided to come to the city. Pali could turn himself into a blue fog, float about, before returning to a human form.
While the two brothers were living in the poorer half of the city, known as Lowtown, Pali did manage to enroll Nakoa in school. The young mutant would quickly take to computer sciences, experimenting with programming and even the rare hacking attempt. Nakoa would eventually be approached his brother’s employer, who turned out to be Yin Long, a notorious Triads boss in the city.
Apparently, Pali used his powers as a thief, robbing on the orders of the Triads. Thankfully, the Triads seemed unaware of Nakoa’s powers, instead they were interested in his hacking abilities. Forced into a new career, Nakoa would quickly finish school and begin hacking on behalf of the Triads.
Nakoa was able to justify this in his mind that he was taking money out of the hands of criminals, and would always send some money he stole to charity. Yin Long decided that as long as he did what he was asked, that Nakoa could continue with his side projects. One of these projects would be the formation of Gene-Techs, a hacking group made up of mutants who were trying to create a better world for all mutants.
Somehow Yin Long would learn about this and discover that Nakoa was also a mutant. Mad at him for not revealing this and possibly exposing their operation, Yin Long ripped Nakoa off the computer and put him in the fighting ring. Even with his mutant powers, Nakoa would struggle greatly as he wasn’t much of a fighter.
After a month and a half of this, Nakoa was on the verge of breaking down. However he would be rescued by his brother Pali, smuggled out of Madripoor and taken to nearby Indonesia. From there the brothers had plans to escape to America, where they had been told that mutants were viewed as superheroes there.
But the Triads caught wind of them, following them to the airport in Jakarta. Pali would hold the gangsters off while Nakoa boarded the plane. As he crossed the Pacific ocean, all Nakoa could do was think of his brother. Eventually they set down in San Fransisco where Nakoa would try and create a new life.
He would find a boarding house to live at as well as getting a job at a computer repair store. For a few months, Nakoa had a decent life in California, even going back to hacking. However he would be sloppy on one hack, prompting the FBI to be sent to arrest him. During that confrontation, Nakoa would use his powers to fight off the officers. However, Nakoa would be whisked away from the battle by the X-Men. Taken to the mansion, Nakoa would be offered a place where he could grow and explore his mutant powers.
