AURELIALuelle HailyDulga TarataKaida Beaumont
”Sensei! Sensei!” A little girl hadn’t bothered to knock as she barged into the teacher’s room. She was looking for any teacher really, and not particularly picky about who.
The Principal snapped his head towards the door as he rose from his chair, “How can I help you?” he said wondering what the girl wanted. She had entered abruptly into the teacher's room in need of something.
The girl noticed the principle first. She knew a little about him, but only his name and his quirk. Never had much of a reason or opportunity to chat, and now wasn’t the time for that.
”There’s some sort of a fight happening in the cafeteria! I don’t really know what it’s about though… Just one of the students started yelling at my friends.” In hindsight, Doll felt that maybe she was taking things a bit too seriously. She left before anything really big happened, but then she hoped that she was just blowing things out of proportions. She would hate to see if things got worse after she left.
The girl explained how there was a fight going on but thanks to the security system the principal was already well aware. “Ah..I already am informed on that, I was planning on heading over to to sort that situation out.” The principal said with a relaxing grin, “You did the right thing in coming to me, don’t worry I will take care of it” He said nodding his head to the little girl. “Do you possibly know what exactly they are arguing about though?”
Doll nodded her head and let out a breath of relief. She had hoped that the teachers would be ready to do something before it got out of hand. Knowing her friends, they'd easily be goaded into a fight and get themselves into a mess of trouble. But before Doll could say much else there was a knock on the door. Doll stood off to the side, stiff as stone, and just watched quietly at the things that unfolded.
As they had walked to the teachers office, she was sure to lift up the cloak so it wouldn’t drag on the floor, out of respect for Dulga. She had wrapped it around her, finding it surprisingly comfortable. Maybe she had to get herself one of these! She thought with a smile on her face.
She looked at Luelle as she continued to talk, mentioning that someone wanted to meet her. Already? She tucked her chin under the clasp of the cloak and hid her frown. Was it because she was an absolute klutz? Getting knocked over by Ezra, and the table falling under her, and falling...well being pulled into a boys lap face down. Or did they see her real form when she slipped up under the tree? Before she could say yes or no, she was already texting her ‘friend’ She bit her tongue and tried to ignore it.
As they got to the teacher's office, and Dulga knocked on the door Kaida looked over as she heard footsteps coming towards them, she noticed immediately that it was Aurelia, It was clear by her large wings that casted such a large shadow from the sun coming through the windows behind her. She didn’t say anything, but simply walked up to the door and knocked, she did seem like she was in a slight hurry.
“What happened in the lunchroom?” Kaida asked with big eyes...her face dipping again under the clasp of the cloak. Maybe she shouldn’t get one of these...she would look like a turtle the entire time. As this
Aurelia heard the girl’s question. She did disappear before all of it happened, so the fact that she asked that wasn’t anything surprising.
”There’s a fight. Just shortly after you left. And it seems serious. Acion’s trying to resolve it, but I don’t know how well it will go.” This was a lot more serious than her cases in the past, when there were only her and one other involved. Here, one even got injured in the process. This surely wasn’t something that students that students could resolve within themselves.
The principal had been talking with other teachers as he heard the knock on the door, “One second ” he said holding a cup of tea in his hand as he went to open the door. He opened it and saw some familiar faces, Aurelia one of his former students was also there as well. “Good afternoon everybody.” He said looking at each of them.
He raised an eyebrow when he noticed two students he hadn’t seen yet that day, he turned to Kaida, “Bonjour mademoiselle”. The man said with a grin, “You must be Ms.Beaumont, and you must be Ms.Hailey” He said turning to Luelle next to them. He noticed Dulga’s appearance change by taking off her cloak, he already suspected what was up. Either Kaida was cold and they were paying a visit or there was a uniform malfunction. As to why Aurelia decided to visit the school today unannounced he had no idea.
“Ms. Tatara, you look very pleasant in the Uniform. I hope you like it.” He said with a cheery grin.
Dulga didn’t say much in responds, simply looking down at her feet as she held her arms close together. While her uniform was for all intents and purposes, conservative and cute, she did feel rather exposed without her cloak. However she didn’t want to make a big deal out of it and just nodded her head.
”It’s fine.”“And what brings you here Sky defender?” He said turning to Aurelia who was off on the side, “You could have at least given me a call to say you were coming today so I could prepare” the old man folded his arms right after.
“Nonetheless how can I help everyone”
Aurelia was half happy to see the principal still well, healthy and cool as always. But the other half of her mood was anxiety, for both Acion and those students that were taking part in the fight, despite knowing that her little brother was capable of handling stuff like that, or at least did not get himself injured in such petty bickerings. She answered to the principal using that emotion mixture, but mostly anxiety and hurriedness.
”I wasn’t planning on visiting long. But anyway, there is a fight in the cafeteria. And before you ask me, no, I did not start it. It looks serious, as one student appeared to get caught in the crossfire. You have to stop them sensei, before it turns into a huge free-for-all.” Luelle nodded and bowed her head.
”Pleasure to meet you sir.” she said smiling. She looked at Aurelia as she began to spoke. Figuring the fight started after she left the cafeteria.
”I think by now it has turned into a free for all. Back at my school the second someone threw food, it turned into a huge free for all. Anyone that didn't escape the cafeteria on time normally gotten written up if it was not their first offense or a warning if it was. I usually got out of there in time” Luelle said.
Kaida groaned inwardly. Hopefully it wasn't Ezra. But before she could say anything a tall man with a well groomed beard opened the door. It took her a few seconds to realize that this was the principle! She recognized him from his picture when she was looking up the school.
He greeted her in French, her entire body perked up, her chin popping back out from under the cloak as she recognized her native language. She gave a big smile.
“Bonjour monsieur” she replied, but before she could say anything else, he moved on to Luelle and Aurelia. She did notice a strong accent in his French, while she had her hopes up to have someone to speak French with, he might only be able to do small talk. She would love to spend time really talking with the Frenchman. Hearing her native tongue really made her homesick at this moment.
Aurelia mentioned the fight and felt like her wardrobe malfunction was lower on the list of priorities. But she decided to ask anyways because Dulga needed her cloak back. She could tell she still was uncomfortable.
“Je… I need to get another…chemisier...” she frowned, not knowing the word in Japanese. She struggled for a moment and, decided to ignore it and move on.
“... and Blazer.” She said in French. Not knowing the Japanese word for that either.
“I tore the back of them by accident “ she said shyly.
From in the room, she heard a deep cheerie voice say,
“She means blouse and Blazer.” he said (Burezā) in japanese. She tried to peek around the corner to see who the voice belonged to, but to no avail. Even on her tippy toes. But she didn’t want to break the threshold. It would be rude of her. Even though she desperately wanted to know who else understood her language.
The man listened to Aurelia explain the situation, “Yes I am aware of what has happened at lunch” his face going from cheerful to a more serious tone. “Ms.Mako seemed to have intercepted with the young man in my place, I believe that was for the best for now.” Mr.Hisakawa turned to Luelle, “I hope not, I am a generous man until you step on my feet.” The young french girl began speaking to the man fumbling with her words, she must have just recently learned japanese. Kaida did her best explaining she had a wardrobe malfunction, Mr. Hisawaka smiling as she did her best. “I am sorry that happened, we will get that sorted out quick” the principal called back into the teacher's room. “Jais, would you mind helping one of the students with finding another uniform.”
The principal turned back outside, “My very good old friend will help you in just a moment, Sorry for such a disturbance on the first day. I will need to talk with you later Ms.Beaumont as well as you Ms.Hailey but as of now I must discipline your fellow students.” Before leaving he turned to Dulga. “I appreciate you taking the time to help your fellow students out Ms.Tatara”
Once more Dulga had little to say and nodded her head.
”It was nothing.” To her, helping Kaida was just something one ought to have done. After all, they were at a school for heroes. That didn’t always mean fighting against some greater evil or saving people from a major catastrophe. Sometimes it just meant helping a girl out with a wardrobe malfunction.
“Au Revoir” The principal walked with haste down the stairs, you could feel pressure in the air right as soon as he left the group.
It was right about then, Jais walked around the corner to the door, taking a delightful sip in his recently made espresso. He smiled and looked slightly up at Dulga, it wasn’t often he met a girl taller than him. It was refreshing to say the least. He then looked down at the three other girls there, Aurelia was there of course, having just explained what had happened. He felt sorry for the kids who were still at the cafeteria, about to feel a fraction of the force of the Gravity Yarl. He just hoped Jetty wasn’t one of the ones creating the ruckus.
He then looked down to the two smallest girls and smiled. Because of his quirk he was able to see which one was speaking in French, even from behind the walls. Though he did not need to do so, as he knew very well which one was Kaida Beaumont. He had recognized the name when he looked over the student’s records of who was applying. He knew of the girl after the fact of defeating her father.
One does not simply allow children of defeated Villain’s into a hero school. Especially when the one who defeated said father was a teacher there. Too many times would a child come for revenge or something of the sort. He had reached out to all the heros around her home town, and found out that she was quite the opposite of her father. Even before he defeated him. So it was one of the main reasons she was allowed to come and learn. That and the fact that her quirk would be put to far better use as a hero than a Villain.
”Bonjour, mademoiselle Beaumont. C'est un plaisir de vous rencontrer. Je suis désolé d'entendre que vous avez eu un problème avec vos vêtements lors de votre premier jour. Mais les accidents se produisent et nous avons toujours un stock de tous les uniformes pour cette raison. "”Well the principle there was a bit of a dick there so I'm kinda glad I'm gone.” She said shrugging her shoulders. She stopped talking as they began to talk about Kadia’s uniform as she struggled to speak in Japanese.
As the principal left for the cafeteria, Aurelia knew that sooner or later, things would be settled. Still, she couldn’t bear to stay here. One was because Kaida appeared to be requiring some other sort of assistance from the teacher, one that did not require the Sky Defender’s presence. Two, was that her little brother was still down there. By the time she informed this to the principal, the fight might have already started. She couldn’t help but worry about it. No matter how grown up and mature he could be, Acion was still her little brother.
Aurelia bid the others farewell before rushing after the principal.
Dulga looked over to Luelle, curious about what she meant. Surely it’d make sense for a principle to punish people who get into pointless fights and waste food? But Dulga didn’t say anything about it. Perhaps Luelle just lived a different life than her. Another teacher came by and started speaking french. Of course Dulga had no idea what he was saying, but if she had to guess, he knew Kaida and was talking about getting her a replacement uniform. It just seemed too much of a coincidence for two french-speaking people to not know each other at the same school. It kinda made Dulga wish she knew french herself.
That aside, Dulga wanted to hurry and get Kaida her new uniform. Dulga was getting a bit uncomfortable without her cloak hugging her body.
”Excuse me sensei, do you know where we can get another uniform? Kaida- I mean, Baeumont-san, she needs one. Or maybe there’s someone here who could fix her uniform?” When Dulga tried to say Kaida’s last name, it sounded as if she was faking a french accent. She didn’t want anyone to think that she was too familiar with Kaida, out of respect of course. In fact, Dulga silently reflected on the fact that she had been addressing Kaida so casually before and forgot about her own manners. She was beating herself up over getting caught in the moment and forgoing basic decency.
When Jais, known to Kaida only as ‘The Frenchman’ walked around the corner and started speaking to her. She threw her hands up to her face to hide her mouth and blush. Kaida was in shock, she should have guessed it was him, that was the main reason she picked this academy. But here she was standing in front of her hero, he was so much bigger up close. Her voice was caught in her throat. He had such a kind smile and warm demeanor. Yet he did not demand centerstage like most heroes do with their costumes and personalities.
She finally broke herself out of it and replied to him in French. Her hands coming together just over the center of her chest as she lowered her head, her tone sorrowful.
“Bonjour, Français. Je suis désolé, j'ai dû vous traîner de votre déjeuner à cause d'une erreur stupide de ma part. S'il vous plaît, pardonnez-moi.”“Ne vous inquiétez pas, ma chère, je suis sûr que c'était une simple erreur. Je préférerais que vous soyez à l'aise devant vos collègues. Surtout lors de votre premier jour.” Jais said with a warm smile. He looked to Dulga as she asked him about a uniform for Kaida. With that same smile he answered her as well.
“Oh of course, forgive me it was was terribly rude of me to speak in French in front of you three. I just got carried away with hearing my native tongue.” He placed his cup on the counter with a face that looked like a kid having to put his favorite toy away for dinner. He was so excited for that cup. But duty first.
He did notice how uncomfortable Dulga looked, as well as the fact she made a big fuss to keep her cloak with her uniform.
He then Exited the room and closed the door for the other teachers and pointed down the hall
“it is just right this way, just a few doors down.” He quickly made his way to the storage room and used a key to unlock it.
Dulga inquired ‘Jais’ about a Uniform. She switched to calling her Beaumont, which caused her to tilt her head to the side a little. Following The Frenchman, she looked up to Dulga and said softly,
“ I truly don’t mind if you call me Kaida, if you don’t mind me calling you by your first name.” Dulga nodded her head at Kaida’s request to call her by her first name. It was mostly a formality anyways, one that Dulga never really understood. It just seemed weird to have to refer to people by their family name. What if their parents or siblings were around? That’d just be confusing. But that’s just how things were so Dulga tried to follow it as best as she could. When she remembered to do so.
Once inside the room Kaida turned around and quickly undid the cloak and folded it gently over one arm before handing it back to Dulga.
“Thank you so much you are such a sweetheart. “ She said with a smile. Careful to make sure her back was away from The Frenchman, It would be embarrassing for him to see her back. As she had realized the holes were much more larger than she originally thought. But she did notice that the Frenchman did not once look her way when she took off her cloak. But simply moved into the room to find her size after asking for it.
In one deft motion Dulga took her cloak and put it around her shoulders, clasping it into place. Even though she added another layer of clothing on herself, Dulga felt a great weight fall off her shoulders. She hugged the cloak tight to her body and shook a little. It was warm and comforting having her cloak back. While she doesn’t mind giving it to Kaida to protect her modesty, Dulga certainly enjoyed having it around her body again. Flipping her hood over her head Dulga then looked towards the room that Kaida went into, waiting for her to come back out.
As he found it, he had placed both in her hands before stepping out of the room and closing the door behind her, so she could change. While she did, He turned towards the others and said,
“One thing about teaching at a hero school… Never a boring moment.” Looking at the teacher Dulga simply nodded. Personally she wished that people at hero school were less troublesome, but she supposed that it wasn’t the place for the meek and quiet. Even if Dulga liked keeping to herself if she didn’t want to get involved then she wouldn’t be here in the first place. There was a reason Dulga was here and she’d never forget it.
Jais then nodded to the two girls.
“Well I must be off, I probably go make sure the principle doesn’t overdo it on the students. Please tell ms. Beaumont that I will speak with her again sometime.” He said with a smile. With that he quickly made his way to the cafeteria.
Luelle sat down and hummed. At her old school she was only in French for only a school year. The reason being was because the French Teacher had to move to another state. Luelle was sad because found French fascinating. She looked at Dulga and smiled a little. She could tell that Dulga was a quiet person, so she had no idea what do say.
“So...um great weather we're having huh” She said awkwardly.
Looking at Luelle, Dulga couldn’t help but smile. She was just as tiny as Kaida was! That was adorable. Luelle was also trying to start a conversation with Dulga about the weather. She liked that Luelle was trying and didn’t seem too intimidated by Dulga’s size or looks. Even if she was a bit embarrassed that Luelle saw her arms. This made her tighten her grip on her cloak.
”It’s nice. Very sunny, cool breeze. Might go for a strole later.” Dulga said softly. She wasn’t sure how to continue the conversation. A few minutes passed and Dulga tried to ask a question herself.
”So… How do you know Kaida?””Oh I just met her today, earlier before we even showed up at school. We actually fight our first villain who was going after some kids” She said a bit red in the face.
Kaida tried her best to be fast to change, she felt awkward changing in a storage room, as she never did anything like that before but she did manage to get over it pretty quickly. Once she managed to put her clothes on she inspected her shirt, to only turn red at seeing that two long rips down her back were pretty big. She quickly rolled them up and felt even more grateful for Dulga. She would have to do something extremely nice for her to even remotely pay her back.
Once done and ready she quickly came out of the room and hopped out of it. Excited to speak with the Frenchman once more. She was on her tippy toes as she looked around and an obvious slump as she dropped to her heels and shoulders showed she was disappointed that the Frenchman was nowhere to be scene. She groaned before looking at Dulga and Luelle.
“Where did he go?” she asked with a sad face. She looked at her phone to check the time and raised her eyebrows. It was almost time for class.
“Oh my goodness! I’m going to be late!” She didn’t even think to ask if the others were in her next class. She looked to Dulga,
“Thank you so much again for your help! I forgot to mention, but Roy said we are all in the same Hero class. So Ill see you later!?” She looked to Luelle,
“I think we are in there as well. So we will catch up later.” She waved her hands and ran off to Culinary arts. For a minute she thought she knew where she was going, but suddenly realized… She had no Idea where the class was, she didn’t even have her schedule with her! She groaned...she was an idiot sometimes. She stopped in a hall where there was a boy and girl walking...she herself was deciding if she should go left or right, or try to make it back to the front desk and ask for directions.
Gripping her arm with her other hand she squeezed as the two came closer, she recognized them from when Roy explained they were also in their class. Jett and Mina she thought...but it would be awkward if she called them by their name. So she walked over to them, Speaking to Mina first.
“Um… Excuse me? Do you know where c...cul...whats the word.” Placing a finger on her lip as she looked to the right, trying to remember. She suddenly remembered.
“ OH THATS RIGHT! Culry Arts is?” She said, saying the word completely wrong. Her accent heavily Present with a nervous smile on her face as she looked to both Jett and Mina.
