Background
Lautrec was raised by a traveling troupe touring the towns. Born mute, he had to contribute to performances physically instead of verbally, and has trained his body to perform great feats of acrobatics for the crowds' enjoyment. He can just as easily walk a tight rope as fall off of it without breaking his leg, and climbing is almost second nature to him. Occasionally he'd have to fight other members of the troupe when a crowd's amusement relied on bloody brawls, and has become fairly proficient in hand to hand combat.
The troupe however, had two sides to it. In public, they were a traveling band of performers and artists, but come night, they became a band of merry thieves, utilizing the same skills they used to amuse to rob. As such, Lautrec learned to understand thieves' cant, and to communicate on his own using its various hand signals and gestures. Because the troupe worked as a team, there wasn't a need for Lautrec to learn how to pick locks, and even the art of picking pockets was only practiced by him out of amusement. Eventually they had to disband, as people inevitably grew suspicious of losing their valuables when the troupe toured nearby. Still, he is thankful for being raised by them, and remembers those days fondly.
At around the age of six, he gained the curious ability to conjure a sphere of light that he could control freely around his close vicinity. The sphere is intangible and emits no heat, and is no bigger than a palm-sized rock. Its lifespan depends on the intensity at which it emits light, capable of serving as an adequate light source similar to a candle for minutes, or to burst into a spectacular flash of light upon conjuration and dissipate in an instant. While it is no more than a simple magic trick at most, Lautrec has firmly believed from a young age that it is his own guardian spirit manifested in the physical realm. Because of this, he became superstitious and has built up a magnitude of curious habits.
