Current Location: Flour Meadough, Friday Afternoon - Interacting With: No One - Mentioned: Joseph

In the few days Olivia had lived in Sol City, she was already witness to several peculiar sights, especially during her first day. Olivia managed to get lost trying to find her way to the city hall, but a kind yet awkward stranger helped her on her way. She had wondered what happened to Joseph since then; after all, Olivia had noticed how much an odd ball he was. The man appeared ready to jump out of his own skin--although he was still friendly--and declared himself as a wanderer. A true oddball in any sense.

"City Hall is hosting a winter times ball. Dance the night away to the Sol's finest hits and maybe strike it lucky."

The advertisement in the next room over had brought Olivia out of wonderland and back to reality. Olivia wasn't quite sure if she should go, but her grandmother convinced her into going. Don't worry about me or the bakery, her grandmother said, who wouldn't hear any ifs, ands or buts from Olivia. Seeing that Olivia was still new to the city, her grandmother thought it was a good time for her granddaughter to meet new friends. Eventually, Olivia caved in, and went to get ready for tonight's ball.

Sitting her toothbrush down into the cup it was originally in, Olivia flashed a smile at herself via the mirror. Everything seemed to be in order--her hair straightened and teeth brushed--and so Olivia turned to the next part of getting ready: finding an outfit. Olivia had a few options available as she hadn't had time to go shopping for more clothes yet, but the decision was still as difficult to choose from.
"Maybe that one paired with the hat... Wait, where is my hat?" Olivia spoke out loud to herself, looking around the room for the hat.

Scratching the back of her head, Olivia was at a loss to where her hat could've gone. Her grandmother's house was spacious for being connected to the bakery, but even then there weren't too many crevices for Olivia to lose her things. Olivia took a quick look under the bed and in the closet, and in neither was the hat. Where could it had gone?
Hopefully it didn't go too far.. Olivia thought as she went exploring the rest of the building for the mysterious case of a missing hat.

Marinalia (Romus) Olympus

&

Victoria Darya Romus

Old Harbour . Romus Apartment . Firday evening

Marinalia's other shifts at the cargo terminal where less intresting than wensday nights, Joel had certainly thrown her day off and the landing of thr big private jet was certainly a highlight it would seem. Boxes, bored ground crews and the occasional job taxing aircraft to née slots for tired crews was not her idea of fun.

Thr company doctor had assured her she would have the tests done soon and get her commercial liscense cleared again. Private liscense was clear to go but renting a aircraft was beyond even her salary once you added in the rent and her Landrovers hire fees.

Thinking as she finaly finished the shower. Least the upcoming events would be a distraction and sat in a towel watching the harbour float by, slowly drifting in and out. It was relaxing. Marinalia looked over at a few laid out clothes, fancy dress was optinal but would be more fun.

Choosing a greak style toga dress, and digging out a costume jewellery tiara, it would work better with a warm coat than the Laura croft, the snow falling in flurries cemented her choice finaly deciding to start getting ready...

Victoria was sat and relaxed, it has been a busy few days. After her impromptu date things had seemed to pick up, a job to set up someone's email server code in Centre Point had paid her nicely for a mornings work and had been exchanging texts with Milo quite regularly.

Smiling, her phone buzzed again and mentioned the upcoming event. Damn, she had forgot to confirm, in all the recent busy times they had forgotten to get anything set up properly. Tapping away as her phone flashed up the smiling image of Marilania, her and Vesarian together. They might be together at the race coming up.

yep. See you outside the Sol Bank. LDW. X

Getting up slowly up and leaning her weight on the sofa heading to her room, smaller than Mali's and no ensuite it was still alot better than a sofa.

Changing into a 1920,s flapper dress, and some random cosctume jewelery she picked up in a vintage store. It was cheap and fitted, people tended to be smaller in the 20's so was a near perfect fit.

"borrowing" her sisters fake fur coat, long plain white and the silly addition of polar bear ears on the hood. It was cute in its own way. With a last check in the mirror and a checking her complex platt before heading out.

Centre Point . Public Party . Firday evening

Catching the taxi both sisters where arguing about there positions on "borrowing" of the coat and Victoria seemed to have "forgotten" exactly when Marinalia approved it.

Getting out and shivering in the cold slightly both sisters where all dressed up with no one yet to impress and waited near the Sol City Bank drinking hot Choclate.

So... Will I see you home later tonight or meet for Lunch at the airport Vika

Teasing slightly, she knew Victoria was easier to tease though Marinalia was glad she had found someone, after a rough time in England, a abit of fun was well deserved.

Hey... What about you and Morgan... Away more times than home...

Smiling, they had been close when she was 20 or so, even years later she still could tease her about it.

Checking her phone and texting, she smiled and snapped a picture of both of them all dressed up by the bank arm in arm. With hot drinks and glittering costime Jewallry. Obviously cheap close up but it looked thr part in a photo.

Sending the image over to his phone, along with a text. She wanted to tease him abit. Why dress up so if you could not show off.

me and Mali started early.double trouble. X

Tonight was definitely going to go better than the jazz night, a concealed can of pepper spray proved it should be needed.

Both raised a glass and toasted.

Much Ado about Winter!

Downtown Sol City, Undisclosed Location - Early Friday Morning

Work for a cartel could be one of the more dangerous jobs in the force and showed how varied every police officer was. Some unlucky sobs could be stuck as a traffic officer or bike patrol for most of their career. Those sort of duties were boring but were sought after by the cowardly men and women who shied away from the hard choices and dirty work. And there was a lot of dirty work to be done around here. The mayor, though kind, had allowed some unsavoury characters to fill the urban streets and some of the suburbs due to his own weakness. They were scum of the Earth, as far as most officers went. There was no mercy for many of the criminals here, a hardline attittude adopted by most during their first few patrols. One can easily see the corruption that seeps in the underground of this fair city if one knows where to look. This corruption was headed by several men. Gangsters, hoodlums and cartel snobs that thought the city was ripe for the picking. They were the predators and the citizens were the unfortunate prey. Many active officers wished they could face this corruption and take them down but due to the mayor's own inaction and his leash on the Police Chief, only the undercover officers could do any real work.

Sure, the normal officer can take down a few crooks a day or some detective could link a crime to a top mafia member to bring him down but the undercover boogeymen were the ones who did the work. They brought the evidence, gained the trust of influential criminals and they were the ones who eventually brought them down. They led second lives, strained their existing relationships and went down the loner's path to achieve victory. Sometimes, these lone wolves would fail but the rewards were all too sweet. They were the silent ones, tough enough to stand amongst the worst the city can offer. The negative psychological impacts were plenty, many undercover police could fall too deep in their second lives and were too disfunctional to work in the force. Some fell to the level of the scum they worked with and some... well, some could be found. These unlucky bastards weren't killed. They were maimed, laid broken for the rest of their lives as a reminder to those silent few that dared to infiltrate the ranks of dregs. But that didn't stop them, it merely fed their silent anger. It was here, where the death danced in your shadows and the worthless scum surrounded you, that those brave few thrived.

One such police officer stood under a broken lamplight, arms crossed and gaze forwards. The dark figure had been working as a bodyguard for the Delossantos Cartel. They were a jack of all trades sort, trafficking humans, drugs, firearms and anything of value. They were known for being incredibly strict in their recruitment and as far as the law was concerned, Margaret Delossantos was a clean lady who had little criminal links beside her grandfather. But he knew better. She was shrewd and cunning, able to evade police and keep assets safe without any visible connections with any of her traffickers. She was the figurative Queen around these parts but had lacked the muscle to beef her influence. That was where Jamal came in. His fake name was Jimmy Ray, from the major African American apartment comnplexes in the inner city. He was a thug but smart, knows his way around the city and can talk to the right people to get what he wanted. This disguise piqued Margaret's interest and he was fast becoming a trusted member. The closer he could get, the more evidence he could gather.

Jamal stopped himself from rubbing his eyes. He was given a job to transfer two grey duffel bags from one of the hideouts to a marked car. He wasn't informed of the contents and was warned from opening them by the one who gave it to him. He had just grunted. He knew how this worked, this was a loyalty test, probably issued from Margaret herself. Test if he was going to double cross her. The cop almost snorted in her arrogance. Like any self-respecting undercover officer would fall for a bait so obvious. A blue Honda Civic that has seen better days began tutting down the road he was on. The mark changed every two weeks, differentiating normal cars and cars which were owned by the cartel. Marks differed depending on what the car was used for. A pink 'Hello Kitty' sticker was proudly stuck on to the dashboard of the oncoming car. He grimaced. A money dealer was approaching him and guessing by the weight of the bags, the man was going to be rich very soon.

The officer picked the two duffel bags up, the weight not bothering him the slightest. The Honda pulled up to him, the tinted windows rolling down to reveal a bald, rat-like Latino teen. He looked Jamal up and down and snorted. "So you're the one eh? One of the new muscle pussies that Margie picked up from the hood." The boy snickered, as if amused by the weak insult. "You look like the steroid-filled version of Bob fucking Marley hermano. Raggedy ass motherfucker."

Knowing that he was probably going to have to look tough, responded in a hard tone "You're what, fifteen? Your momma sick of yo' ass sittin' on her couch, watchin' Mickey Mouse? Shut the fuck up, I eat kids like you for breakfast."

Mickey, a nickname he was going to call the kid, just snorted harder. Some mucus escaped his nose and he hastily wiped it away. "'Least I don't look like a fuckin ape hermano. You look like one of those soft types, you know? The weightlifting, grunting types but on the inside, you love the big banana. Mmmmmm, the big banana likey likey, aye big boy? Big banana wanty wanty?"

The undercover officer just sniffed and dropped a bag to open the door. "Fucker, the more you talk about big bananas, the more I think you're obsessed with it. It's like you're a closet puto."

"The only puto here is you, big boy. You look like the sum of the Jackson 5 and a male prostitute divided by Freddy Mercury's AIDS hombre."

"That didn't make any fuckin' sense and you know it Mickey. Pass first grade maths first before you use the word 'sum', dumbass." Jamal retorted back, growing tired of the banter that the teen was encouraging. "Are ya gonna shut yo' mouth or are ya gonna keep yappin' with that mouth of yours? No wonder yo' momma got sick of yo' Mickey watchin' ass, couldn't stop talking about loving Donald Duck at the dinner table."

The boy just glared at him back and turned his nose, a little put out by the last roast. Jamal opened the side door and placed the two bags inside, ignoring the waft of musky smells coming from the backseats. He slammed the door shut and stepped back, expecting the teenage drug dealer to just leave.

Instead, the boy looked at him again with the a challenge in his eyes. "You think you're tough hombre?"

He just nodded, unsure of where this was going.

The bald, Mickey Mouse watching teen took something out of his pocket. A crumpled up police badge was placed in his hand, blood around the edges. A Delossantos invitation. "Margie wants you on her fuckin' pussy parade in the party today. The one that the mayor's hosting for all the people in this shit town. I dunno why, you look like some pussy meathead to me, but apparently you've sucked enough cock to climb the ladder. She's gonna make some beef with the mayor about somethin', something about some ninja pigs sniffing around her territory or some shit. Margie wants some pussy muscle there to project her power while she deals with it."

Marshals? He had heard of some marshals passing through a year ago but Jamal had been so immersed in his cover that he hadn't been in the office for weeks. More of those governmental snobs? He snorted, stuffing the invitation in his jeans pocket. "I'll see what the boss lady wants then. For now, try not to get yo' punk ass caught by the pigs. That dough is important Mickey boy." With that halfhearted warning and a one fingered salute in response, the Honda sputtered to life and sped away. He kept his eyes on the car as it turned the corner before putting his hood up, preparing for tomorrow. He had a serious opportunity and Jamal Jamali wasn't dumb enough to pass it up.

This type of power play was almost unheard of. Margaret Delossantos' arrogance has gone above her head. This could be a mere threat but any further and he might need to interfere, blowing his cover. The officer sighed and decided to play with it. If anything, it was a chance to climb the ranks and gain more trust. Trust he could use to take his target down. It was his time to dress up and play the big boy.

Centre Point - Friday Evening

@PrinceAlexus or anyone in the area

The task was simple really. Delossantos' men were to mingle, flexing their muscles while looking as intimidating as possible. They were gonna walk around and make sure that their right sleeve patch, the red cross shield on a black background, could be seen as obvious as possible. She wanted to show that she controlled the downtown, not some weak mayor. Simple power play and a little covert but incredibly arrogant. Jamal exited the black sedan near Centre Point accompanied by three other meatheads like him. He hadn't bothered to learn their names, they were thugs without a doubt. He frowned at the lack of obvious police presence that was in the area but reasoned that it was like this every year. Why would there be? There hasn't been a power play like this since... ever. There hasn't been anyone ballsy enough to try it. Not that the average citizen could tell what the patches actually meant but the mayor did.

The undercover officer wore a black tuxedo, fitted to be as showy as possible. If you asked him, it was almost suffocating in this ridiculous suit. But was fitting in all the right places and he could appreciate a nice suit when he saw one. He ignored the complaints of the three other musclemen in tight suits and quickly swaggered away from them. The sooner he got away from them, the better. This was one of the simpler jobs he has done for the Delossantos Cartel but was also one of the most dangerous. What if the mayor lost his cool at all these thugs present and called for an arrest? Could he handle another officer? Could he fake an arrest and a successful trial or would it be too suspicious for the cartel? He smoothed the creases at the bottom of his jacket and sighed. He couldn't worry about this in a simple job like this. All he had to do was to look intimidating or at least give an imposing impression upon people. And flash the patch whenever he got the chance of course.

'I can settle there.' A lamppost near the bank was where Jamal eventually took place. He noted his companions from the cartel setting up in their own positions, stuffing their hands in their pockets or staring ominously at any wall opposite. He resisted to snicker, they almost looked comical to the seasoned police officer. He crossed his large arms and leaned against the pole, surveying the area. It was quickly filling up with people, dressed to the nines. These were not poor people, he told himself. These were the normal citizens of Sol City, the people he was supposed to protect. He nodded at a few people who passed him but they either shied away from his intimidating presence or just ignored him completely. He noted the pair of girls near the bank, taking a picture of themselves. A selfie, it was called? He found his eyes lingering for a little long on them before averting his eyes. He didn't know if they saw him staring but he hoped not. It would be an easier job if no one approached him. At all.

Knowing himself, he would have no such luck.

Joseph's Suit

It can't be understated how difficult it is to make a good fancy costume with no money, and only the materials you can find on the street. It's pretty rare to find much more than cardboard boxes and sometimes, sometimes, a decent sized roll of duct tape. Still, if you put your faith in the magical will of the streets, as well as leaving the occasional offering to their original, mysterious denizens, known to mortals as 'pigeons', you might just find that it provides you with the helping hand you need.

It was thanks to this that, while still not having eaten since his breakfast with Ren, Joseph was able to make a wonderful recreation of a suit using just cardboard boxes, duct tape, and a tag from... something... for a makeshift 'tie'.

He'd even managed to find a bit of cellophane and some pipe cleaners, making himself a pair of cardboard aviator sunglasses!

As he held the 'suit' up in front of him, he nodded in pride. Now no one could say he didn't put the effort in, and maybe he could pretend he was a normal person attending the party... thing... to enjoy themselves, rather than a hom-WANDERER only attending because there was free food and alcohol.

Yes sir, no societal leechery here!

Still, maybe he could use this opportunity. With his moderate talent at cooking, maybe he could impress someone out on the town, find a job. At the very least, maybe he could find a rich person to become a personal cook for in return for living in their house or something. Sure, it might be awkward around the start, but hey, when was he not awkward?

The answer was never, as he was sure was clear when he tried to help that girl earlier in the week, Olivia.

Honestly, he was still pretty embarrassed about his complete lack of composure when he'd accompanied her, especially right after that blonde bastard Ren had decided he would try to make thigs as awkward as he could before abandoning them. He was just glad that they'd made it to the town hall before too long, an that the small girl didn't seem to hate him by the time they did.

Maybe they might even run into each other during the night. God knows finding someone he knew would help take the edge off the nervousness he had with his plan to immediately raid the food stalls.

Well, it might.

Anyway, enough plans. It was time for action.

Stretching for a moment to make sure he wouldn't accidentally pull a muscle or something during the raid, Joseph put on his suit, and wandered out of his alleyway and into the party, wondering whether he'd manage to make it out alive later on.

Morgan Jane Rowan

Morgan was getting ready to go to a block party, mocha was sprawled out outside the bathroom door even though it was open, the dog had a elf hat on her head, and the bells on it slightly ringing as she munched on her bone. Meanwhile in the bathroom Morgan was fighting with her hair, she finally got it into a messy bun that suited her a few curly dark amber tendrils framed her hair making her honey eyes stand out.
She went into her bedroom, mocha loping after her woofing softly over the bone in her mouth. Morgan sliped into her lacy blue dress careful of her hair. She looked into the mirror and smiled at herself, the dress hugged her hips nicely. She patted her thigh and mocha's ears pricked.
"Are you ready to go" mocha dropped her bone and barked as Morgan went to grab her leash, as soon as the leash was on and Morgan grabbed her money placing it safely in the top of her dress her and mocha left.

When they got there they walked down the path. Morgan got some hot chocolate and gave a cookie to mocha which she happily chewed on. Morgan saw a few figures standing against the bank and started to steer clear of them.

Marinalia (Romus) Olympus

&

Victoria Darya Romus

Centre Point . Public Party . Firday evening

Marinalia was relaxed as the street party began to pick up and the music began to play more often, a lively mix of Christmas songs and popular more dance numbers to keep everyone in the mood. Singing along with Victoria and laughing as they did to I wish it could be Christmas everyday, it was a classic and one from home too.

Relaxed as she finished her hot chocolate, everything seemed to be cheerful until some larger types in suits started turning up.. No. Where the damned perfect possww of fools and idiots managed to get out there scrape with the law yet?

One of there staff was wanted across the entire city, Warrents issued across the entire city, radio, TV, newspapers they managed to blanket every form of media.

just got to get us a top up,

Giving a icey glare at the tall man in a suit, he seemed the type to be one of there asshole, aiding there crimes and escapes. One day they would all get there Karma.

The snow had been falling slowly in spurts and was now very glad she had the mid lengh coat over her Greek style dress, slipping on a icey patch that they seemed to have missed she went into a well dressed young woman with a hot chocolate. With a embarrassed English accent and backing up abit and going abit pink.

sorry! Heals and ice do not mix!

If you lost your drink il buy you one.

A miking at the dog, it was cute and quite abit smaller than her aunts, but people always favoured those closest to them.

nice dog, my aunt had a big girl who part wolf, may I.

It was a aim to distract, try and hide the fact she had kinda walked into someone, hope fully it worked. Distracted she did not notice a figure approach Victoria while she waited for her date. She had struck lucky alot quicker than Marinalia. Milo sounded like a good egg.

Victoria nodded as Marilania headed out to refill there drinks, she was stood waiting, leaning slightly on the walking stick and pulled her furry hood up, polar bear ears adding a sense of fun to faux fur coat. Behind her walked over a taller man, older and aged after years at sea, heavy winds and even artic blizzards. Matching grey eyes to the two young women and a English accent heavily Tinged by Russian.

She leaned against the wall waiting for her date, hoping he did not stand her up as they had been getting on so well, things seemed to feel right.

Vesarian Romus recognised his daughters anywhere, despite being away for years some things where coded into your genetics and despite his ice cold demeanor, tough business and slightly less moral job, he always had a soft spot for two particular young women.

Добрый вечер, мои прекрасные дочери

Jumping slightly before turning round smiling and happily hugging her father, he had been tied up for hours outside at a nearby port. The ATF had investigated his ship from bow to Stern, every document and liscense he had. Everything was of course legal and correct. The shipment was legal but having a arms cargo listed on thr manifest had attracted them like vultures despite being bound for a perfectly respectable security company on the US Canadian border.

He had arranged to meet her in old harbour for lunch but had had cancel the meeting, some bastad ATF agent watching his every text even insisting to see the record of cominocations between the two before letting him message her. Was that even legal...

Папа! Наконец ты это сделал.

I was worried I'd not see you on Saturday! Maril just gone for drinks. She be happy to see you

At last. They where meant to be meeting up at some race test and she had snagged a +1 ticket with him for the test. It was not her thing and probably abit boring but they had been apart for months and did not care about having to watch someone do a few laps of run way if they got to catch up.

Noticing the taller man in suit a second, a badge on arm? Wait a second one... Somthing made her feel very glad for her fathers arivial as Milo was yet arrive. Her father and Ivan had taught her very good spoken Russain, her reading was not great and writing was awful but it proved handy for maintaining there privacy.

Мужчины, кажется, что вещи не могут быть мирными

Nodding Vesarian chanced a glance over to his right to see a taller man, darker skinned and well built in a suit that was almost comically tight, threat of muscle was evident. Grey eyes far colder than his daughters, he was far more used to worse places and a 20+ year career at sea had taken him to the world's finest and darkest ports.

Da, do not worry.

The event was a good excuse to see you, Maxamillion asked, it was too perfect. I flying out late Saturday, but il be back for the race weekend Vika.

I hear off Mali you charmed someone already... Just Don, t make me a grandfather quite yet.

Cutting her off before she could of reacted, she was pretty young woman in a new city, after recent events. Sadly of his own causing she had a bad time, she had earned a break and some fun.

Looking out they saw Marilania talking to some woman in a rather striking dress, a small dog on a leash. Deciding to keep quiet. It would be a happy Suprise.

The party began to pick up and energetic music was almost infectious even to his old salty bones.

Victoria looked over and saw a person, they where smaller, a outfit of cardboard? Wait was that the wanderer from the jazz night who had insulted so eloquently and she had talked to. Asking about somewhere to shelter...

Maybe, too distracted by her fathers Suprise arrival and worried Milo had stood her up. She did not dwell too long on the matter.

Up on a large podium several mayoral staff seemed huddled tightly, various figures coming and going and not with happy expressions as they rushed about and several police officers quietly joined the groups conversation many could see but none hear.

Milo Ventri

Milo dashed about his home looking for something nice to wear, as it stood, he was quite lacking in the fancy dress department since leaving home, he hadn't thought that it would be an issue. Milo did manage to pull what looked to be an old steampunk outfit that he had put together from when he was living back home, without the gadgets it would be a suitable substitute and honestly he had thought he looked rather dashing in it.

Milo finished getting dressed before his phone buzzed on his desk, he lifted it up to see a picture of Vika and her sister already at the party, "Well, I best hurry then." He mumbled to himself. Milo walked into the main room of his shop on his way out, and stopped by his racks, a moment passed as he wondered to himself, would this be as bad as that jazz night? Those men were willing to go pretty far and maybe he should be willing as well to respond. No, that wasn't the person he wanted to be here, it was part of what made him hard to be around back home, never knowing when to let parts of his life be separate, he just needed to go and enjoy himself. He walked out front and got into his truck, it was too cold to be biking and besides he liked the suit. and made his way downtown to the party.
When Milo arrived there were already a lot of people about and music was playing. He walked about trying to see if he could spot Vika and her sister, but they were oddly hard to see at the moment, however he did manage to be given and drink and was sipping slowly as he wandered, it was only a moment longer before he noticed a man in what appeared to be a cardboard suit, all of a sudden the party felt much more relaxed knowing that someone had a decent sense of humor about it. Nearby he caught glimpse of Marinalia, and then Vika talking with an older gentleman, So he walked over to them, "Hello, I'm sorry if I am interrupting, and more so that I'm late." He said the last part looking to Vika, "Still not used to getting around the city it seems."

Morgan stumbled back her hot chocolate falling on the ground. "It's fine, I have money." She looks over her shoulder. "What were you looking at" Mocha hopped around Morgan's feet the bells on her elf hat ringing as Morgan smiled down at her dog forgetting what she was worrying about. "Yes you can pet her if she'll sit still, she's a mutt I don't really know what she is ad her name's mocha."

Solaris University, Study Hall

Wednesday, noon

@Shard

Ren was slightly taken back by the quick reply from the guy in front of him. "Touché." He shifted his weight on the chair, leaning forward while raising his brows. "Someone like me? I find most people to be a bit of a bore to be perfectly honest with you, so yes - I don't see why you should be an exception. The guy looked at his phone and mumbled an 'oh my god' just as Ren's phones buzzed in his pocket. As he pulled it out, the screen read father. Ugh great. What does he want.

"As lovely as this little... Whatever - has been, please excuse me." He said to the young man as he got up and walked out of the library. He was expecting this call to last for a while - it usually did. Concisting of several scoldings about Ren not calling enough, worrying his mother and dissapointing his father. All that fun stuff. He walked down the hallway, noticing a poster from the SCPD hanging on a billboard - looking for details about some guy. Ren didn't stop to read it thoroughly. Not his problem. After finding an empty classroom he sat down, quietly listening to his father's complaints, answering shortly from time to time how his studies were going, if he was eating well, etc. etc. After what felt like ages, his father finally hang up. Feeling a headache on the way, Ren texted William to come pick him up and was soon on his way home.

Riverside, Ren's apartment

Wednesday, evening

Only Ren's eyes were visible, peeking out from an opening in the blanket he had wrapped around himself. The apartment was dark except for the TV screen casting shadows on his pale face. He was watching an old cult classic called Return of the Living Dead. It was from the eighties and was just as tacky and awful as that would imply. Ren loved every second of it. As the ending titles rolled over the screen, he stood up and stretched his arms above his head, yawning. He should get ready for bed, but perhaps some tidying up of the place was in order first. His books and pieces of paper were strewn across his dining table, some had even fallen to the floor. Maybe I should have accepted a maid like father suggested… Rolling his eyes, he grabbed his bag and started shoving books inside.

"That's weird- where is…" Ren looked around the room. "Aah, you've got to be kidding me." He had forgotten his library card and the book he was supposed to borrow at the library when he left to answer his phone. Sigh. What a bother. I don't have any more classes this week either. Hopefully it'll be there on Monday.

Riverside, Ren's apartment

Friday morning

The alarm buzzed too loudly and too early for Ren's liking, even though he was the one setting it. He groaned as he pulled the covers over his head in a poinless effort to deaffen the sound. Oh right, today's the day of the City Hall Winter Ball… Could be fun? Naaah, maybe. Just five more minutes… Ren hit the snooze button and sleep found him once again.

Marinalia smiled and nodded, though most of thr stuff here was free some of the stalls where charging alongside the free public stalls, a miz of everything from hot Choclate to food and mulled wine.

Looking over to the woman, protesting over the hot chocolate with the cute dog and lowering self down to stroke the dog behind the ears and give it a little tickle. Marinalia had grown to like dogs after getting used to Fluffy, Marlas part wolf, part dog and rather large. Somewhat biased to females for a reason no one was yet to explain. Softening her English accent, dogs where often alot nicer than humans.

, your a good girl Mocha.

Standing back up, mocha was pretty cute, and adorable in Christmas stuff.

you sure. I don't n t mind paying. Made you drop it.

She s a nice girl, rather adorable. Names Marinalia Olympus., Im glad I did not ruin your dress anyway!

My aunts, Fluffy is alot bigger, Wolf Hybrid. Abit of handful but a very loyal protector.

Ordering a replacement drink for her and Victoria she turned and saw Victoria with... Vesarian.... At last, Victoria said he had missed her lunch date. Spotting thr same thugs wandering about. There seemed to be at least 3 of them.

Cursing to her self. Why was it always damned muscle bound idiots, least Victoria's date seemed to have arrived, he seemed rather dapper and certainly a decent catch in the cities pond.

Seeing him walk by, she decided to add a comment, if thr perfect possww was about to send its thugs about, she could always leave them a message, with a very clipped English accent, though devoid of threat.

if you work for those Perfect Posse fools, please tell miss Olympus sends her regards. I do belive they managed to settle there issues... Eventually...

Victoria smiled spotting Milo head over and hugged him happily, the internal battle of worries, and pains that she had been stood up managed to vanish as other conflicts arose and several other doubts about things. She gave the impression as the confident lady de winter, but Vika had alot more doubts hidden deep down. What if he got tired of a crippled woman, what of he wanted someone who could dance better or walk longer. What if he wanted someone normal?

hey. You made it! Had me worried for abit I was gonna have to fill up on a nacho hat like deapicable me... Meet my...

As Victoria turned, her 1930,s vintage style dress glittering in thr light of the party, and a long fur coat in white belending dangerously well with her skin tone. The taller man turned and gave him a once over, stood in a naval style coat with a captains bars, and heavy duty pair of boots still having not changed from leaving the ship after the ATF raid, with a look of a man who weathered many a storm prematurely aging him. Add stress and the greys mad whim look dignified, if not peaved as they contrasted rather sharply with his short dark hair.

With a British Accent tinged with Russian, eyes grey very much identical to Marinalia and Victoria but cold as a polar storm.

Captain, Vesarian Romus...

It seems I was the one interrupting my daughters date.. You know the standard... Hurt her. Etx etc...

Дон, позволь мне испортить тебе вечер Vika, твоя единственная молодая

Saying the name with a defined weight to the surname. Both being perfectly fluent in Russian was handy, he seemed alright and Marinalia already had told him, but it did not hurt to make ones position clear.

Victoria smiled as his voice softened slightly to the end, Russian of all things, Milo must be pretty confused. He be well trained though she thought jokingly. Happily standing on tip toes and just about managing a peck on the cheek of Milo. With a clear fact she could get away with anything and daddy's little girl luxury that never went away even when your a adult.

Milo is a good egg, I can look after myself dad... Anyway I can wreck more damage with a laptop and WiFi.

Nice suit handsome, long as things go better than Sunday!

Vesarian shrugged and laughed slighty, there where some things you could not argue against and wives and daughters where two of those, there was no arguing with Victoria and Marilania once they made up there minds on somthing.

da, Vika. I captain a ship, and you tell me what to do.... So is the way...

Milo. Enjoy, Vika, well. She chooses well, so have fun, your only young once.

Centre Point - Friday Evening

@PrinceAlexus, @valckyriie, @RoccanIronclad, @Rabidporcupine and anyone present

Alas, the officer was left to his own devices for a time. He had spent several weeks in the Cartel, submersing himself into his role as a "pussy musclehead" as Mickey had put it. It wasn't an insult but a label given to all the goons hired by the Delossantos Cartel. They were thugs for hire, you didn't mean much to the Cartel until you proved your loyalty. Again, it was the perfect cover for Jamal to take, being one of the bigger officers in the force. 'Doesn't mean I have to like it.' he thought bitterly, feeling the evening winter chill crawl up his spine. And he really didn't. Changing from one of the more respected (albeit a bit more unknown) officers in his department to becoming a no life goon was not an easy transition to make. But he had done it, over a period of two months he practised everything from accent to movement to even small things like stance. He couldn't have his Pakistani accent come through at all in his English and it would be suspicious if a no-good thug like him could speak fluent Urdu. It would be simply out of place. He taught himself to talk, walk and swear like he was a native from the complexes. He had to, he would be strung up and lit up like a Christmas bonfire if he was ever caught working for the police undercover. A death that befell on too many of his comrades.

Jamal crossed his arms, trying to subtly keep warmth. He saw his companions doing the same thing from the corner of his eye, one was shivering uncontrollably. "Fuckin' suits ain't even thermal." He muttered under his breath, keeping a clear accent. He would never be caught breaking character, he was too paranoid for it. Even in his thoughts, he forced himself to think in English rather than his native Urdu. He had totally submerged into character and he passively thought about whether he was going too far. He dismissed the thought. This was for the mission, for taking a down a greedy woman who thought exploiting innocents and trafficking drugs was a way to power. If he reminded himself that, he wouldn't become dysfunctional. Dysfunctional. That was the term police used when an undercover cop went too deep in their second lives or even going turncoat. Apparently there were problems with keeping a secret life behind your loved one's backs and holding a fake character for months. Sometimes undercover operations lasted for over a year, lasting psychological effects would then plague that unfortunate officer for the rest of their life. He had to do things quickly and efficiently or risk becoming the bad guy he wanted to stop. He grabbed an orange seemingly out of nowhere from his suit, peeling it and popping a few pieces in his mouth before throwing the rest behind his back. Oranges would keep him sane.

Forcing himself to focused, Jamal chewed on the delicious fruit of Gods as he surveyed the unfurling scenes before him. The first noteworthy observation he could make was the mayoral staff staring at him and looking very disappointed. He smiled sharply, a threatening glint in his eye as he locked eyes with one of the politicians. The portly man cowered away, turning around to speak to one of the officers near the huddle. The fake thug wondered for a second whether these officers were aware of his presence but decided they most likely didn't. The only people who knew that there was even an undercover cop present were a select few police officers from his department, the Police Chief and the mayor himself. And only the Police Chief knew what he looked like, for confidentiality reasons of course. The group of politicians seemed to talk in hushed tones and no matter what he did, he couldn't hear what they were talking about. 'Probably complaining on how we're ruining their beloved party' He noted, seeing the clear faces of distress and complaints.

The officer turned away from the podium and looked across the crowd of civilians. It seemed as though most of them were mostly unaware of their presence except for a select few. An elderly man and the blonde girl he previously looked at were taking glances at him. The old man's sharp eyes startled him for a second before he smiled, the same threatening glint in his eyes. In his head, his mind churned. Did these people know the Cartel? The girl dressed elegantly and the pair seemed well off. Few of the middle class were even aware of gangs being present in Sol City. It was that picturesque image that the police were keen on keeping. Only those poor enough to live in the apartment complexes, downtrodden suburbs or projects had any idea of the Sol Underground. Again, he tried to pique his ears to their conversation but he could only hear tidbits of what sounded like... Russian? Rival gang? He didn't know if the Russian Mafia took a claim in his Sol City and ignored the foreboding feeling in his stomach as he stared at the elder man. The woman didn't seem too threatening but that man... 'That man has seen some serious shit.' He put his speculations aside, keeping that sinister smile plastered on his face. It wouldn't do o be distracted if there were rival gangs present, one as dangerous as the Russian Mafia.

The sounds of crunching footsteps and the cardboard grinding on cardboard averted his eyes away from the pair. Weren't there three of them? That thought was quickly wiped away as he looked at the sight before him. Jamal Jamali was known for his dislike of excess, unnecessary humour. Such a serious personality had birthed a discomfort for... theatrical comedy. He wasn't sure if the sight before him was even real. "What the actual fuck?"

A homeless man entered Centre Point, dressed in the ugliest suit Jamal had ever seen. It didn't even qualify as a suit in his eyes. It was cardboard! It was grotesque, a sting to his eyes. He had to repress the immediate frown that came to his face as he looked at the monstrosity. It was too... brown. Boxy. It was like the man was carrying his house as clothing. Was this some sort of joke? He was getting embarrassed for the man! He was familiar, one of the several homeless men he had seen when riding with the Cartel directly after his recruitment. He seemed scared to enter the party, as if aware of his own attire, not that Jamal paid much attention to the man himself. He was far too transfixed by the outfit. It was a mockery, a malformation of proper etiquette and common decency. The undercover officer had to remind himself that he was undercover. It wouldn't do if he broke character for this... imbecile. He saw one of his compatriots shaking with mirth as they saw the man, going as far as let out barking laughter before covering his mouth. Did this count as humour? Was this what ruffians found funny? He kept his steely gaze and planted his feet firmly on the ground. He wouldn't confront the mutation. Yet.

The half-Pakistani averted his eyes to prevent the embarrassment that he felt for the man. He noted another man in a finer, more gentlemanly suit walk up to the two Russians he had been staring at. Now where was that second girl? He swore he could have seen two of them taking a picture of themselves. He started walking, peering into the crowd. He had to find her, he couldn't have a possible gang member out of his sight. He walked with a swagger, pushing some unaware partygoers out of his way, some quite roughly. He towered over most of them, he was quite a tall man with a large bulk. He had even pushed the cardboard man and some drunkards away, ignoring several attempts at conversation. He saw the girl, or rather, she saw him.

A pale blonde girl, who couldn't have been more than five feet tall, accompanied a brunette who was even shorter. He raised one eyebrow in rare surprise as the girl spoke in a clipped tone.

If you work for those Perfect Posse fools, please tell miss Olympus sends her regards. I do belive they managed to settle there issues... Eventually...

Jamal crossed his bulging arms and looked down at her, a bemused smile on his face. These people were starting to make a simple job into something much more complicated. He wanted to find her, not confront her. This made his job a lot harder. He snorted, keeping his character up. God he hated talking but acting made it easier. "Lady, I have no idea who the Perfect Pussies are. I don't know who you or yo' companion," he paused, eyes flicking pointedly to the brunette next to her "work for. The word Olympus doesn't mean jack shit to me unless you're talking 'bout some Percy Jackson shit. I work for Delossantos princess, I ain't no Perfect Pussy and I don't have no issue." He tapped the patch on his arm, flexing slightly for effect. He grinned at her, showing rows white glistening teeth. Maybe throwing out the name of the cartel leader could elicit some sort of reaction.

But Olympus? That wasn't a Russian name. He was missing something here. He had to find out who these people were.

Joel Nicolosi

Most everyone had checked out of Southside around mid afternoon. Shiftwork went on of course, but the steady Monday through Friday crowd were gearing up to enjoy the weekend at Central Point. The sun set on the distant sound of a firetruck headed out on a call and the rumble of a yard switcher moving cars around the hump yard. The night, for the moment was cool and clear and Joel still had the bay door open with music pumping out through the shop into the mostly empty streets. He knew his neighbors, a fabric manufacturing plant and a machine shop wouldn’t mind the sound. There was a raised FJ Cruiser parked on the curb along with Joel’s Jeep Wrangler. Inside the shop was empty save for the 300 sitting along on its airjacks. The hood and entire front section were still unattached and sitting neatly behind the car.

Joel had no intention of attending any of the so called “festivities”; changing over his sleeping pattern from his nocturnal streak still left him slightly groggy, but he held off on sleep long enough that he knew when he finally bedded down for the night, it would be lights out quick and then up early to meet the hauler to transport the car over to the cargo airport.

The Cruiser belonged to Louis Grego, or just, “Lou” as most people called him. Joel jokingly referred to him as, “the Don” due to his characteristic accent and Italian lineage. Lou had run his own shop in the heart of Neo City as a master tech for many years and retired to Sol after arthritis in his hands made continuing to work on cars unfeasible. Joel met him when he first relocated and was only getting started in racing the car competitively. He regarded the man as something of a mentor and his input had influenced many of Joel’s best projects including the car sitting between them.

“Where’s your FRS?” Joel said walking around with a section of heat treated ventilation hose, “People going to think this is some kind of four-by-four shop.”

“Whaddaya talkin about dude?” Lou chuckled, “You see this thing here?” He waved a hand at the 300. “I feel like I’m at the Indy five-hundred or somethin’.”

Joel smirked. The last thing before he could replace the body panels was replumbing the front brake ductwork. It was a simple enough job then pop the tires on and they were all set. Lou had only stopped by as he knew the test date was coming up and was curious. “You gonna head up town for bit?” He asked.

“Not hardly,” Joel replied flatly.

“C’mon, be good for yeh,” Lou replied. “You’ll have this sewed up in a half hour. I’m taking the old lady up there for some live music. You can ride with us. She’ll drive.”

Joel shook his head, “I think I’d rather somebody beat the shit out of me than be up in that mess.”

“That car not gonna take care of yas when you get old as me,” Lou had a way of cutting straight to the quick and Joel knew exactly what he meant. A secret part of him did actually want to go, but the ruling majority was firm in their resolve. He had too much respect for Lou to shoot back a smartass retort and he knew the man could read him like an open book anyway. He’d dealt with cars and people longer than Joel had been alive. He thought about the girl he’d met at the airport, the last female he’d interacted with in two days, but just like the times before he stowed the thought away reaffirmed his position:

“Nah, I’m good man. I just wanna get this done and get some sleep.”

Morgan Jane Rowan

Morgan looks around, noticing the looming figures. "It's fine, and is that so. Morgan took an instinctive step back, crossing her arms while mocha flattened her ears to the top of her head and growled a very uncharacteristic thing for a dog like mocha to do. Morgan looked behind her. "What did she say. Perfect posse?." Her voice sounded fearful. She walked to the stand getting another hot chocolate and another cookie on mocha's request with her incisive barking, when Morgan handed her the cookie she gladly took it.

Milo Ventri

Milo listened to the grizzled sailor and when he revealed himself to be Vika's father he had to hold back a bit of surprise, this was awkward, he hadn't been expecting to meet parents just yet, odds were that Vika may never meet his. "A pleasure to meet you Captain, and have no fear, I know the drill." Milo had on a look that spoke volumes, he seemed to be quite content, confident even as he spoke, this man was a hard working man of a true trade, he would see if Milo wasn't giving a good show of it. Some of Vika's behavior was pretty astonishing, public displays of affection with a guy she had just started dating, right in front of her dad, pretty ballsy if he did say so himself.
As the Captain left them to their own devices Milo smiled and looked to Vika, "Well, a good egg huh?" He let out a small laugh, "That is not the phrase I would have thought to use but hey, whatever get the point across." Vika made a quick comment about his clothing for the evening, he was wondering what everyone else around town would be wearing, gladly he was happy to know that some tried to look nice and some were silly enough that he couldn't stand out to bad, "Well thank you, though I think I am paling in comparison to box man over there." And he pointed to the man in the cardboard suit, "But I know I pale to you, you look lovely." He smiled sweetly, as he spoke, she really did look great, "Drink or dance? What do you feel like?" he said as he held out a hand to guide her wherever she wished. The crowd today was large but a few people were standing out, Marinalia, she was clearly visible, playing with a dog, Milo was surprised someone would bring their dog, but to each their own. What concerned him was a larger man arms crossed looking menacing, he was clearly not security, and it seemed of course Miss Marinalia was trying to speak to him, these two girls have more moxie than he really knows how to deal with, but that's half the fun.

Perfect Posse (Sasha, Khroshid, and Lupe)

Heading towards Centre Point . Public Party . Friday evening

The white Rolls Royce Phantom Limousine bounded towards centre point, its opulence in stark contrast to the slowly eroding roads its traversed. It was not surprising as infrastructure was considered a low priority government investment; Sol City would be better off if it sold or leased of infrastructure to the private sector. Sasha scoffed as he managed to tune out the work jargon bouncing around in his head, it was just further proof that the few days of office dwelling was adversely affecting his mental well-being. He of all people should be above such petty concerns. The petite Russian focused on what his two associates were conversing about.

“Ah, man. She was totally asking for it. Just look at those eyes homeboy.” Lupe pontificates this point by jabbing a meaty finger at a polaroid cradled on the arm rest between himself and Khorshid. “Dem the eyes of one thirsty prude my dude. Marry Poppins was practically begging for you to sweep the cobwebs out of her chim chimney if ya catch my drift.”

“Oh, this coming from Mister Ladies’ Man himself. Hmm. Remind me when was the last time you had sex without paying?” Khorshid nudged his friends shoulder.

“Not cool. Yo, I ain’t even mad that your bitch got me thrown in slammer for a few hours for violating the terms of my supervised release. I knew that once that piece of garbage whom I had the shit kicked out of accepted a settlement offer the state would drop the charges against me and I’d be off the hook… another notch on my championship belt. But you got to be hella pissed my brother as she’s got the whole pigsty after your boy Bob.”

“As you Cuban’s say ‘Ese tipa no sirve’, but as I told you guys earlier today I got the whole Bob situation under control…”

“Bullshit darling”, chimed in Sasha between snorting lines of cocaine. “Your dumb ass cannot even handle a fart let alone a city-wide man hunt. However, I’d assume that whatever pie in the sky hope you have being reunited with your boytoy hinges on those…erm…noble savages we had the pleasure of meeting this morning. Security was not happy that our entourage for the evening includes about 50ish bikers…ecuse me I am mistaken I meant to say 50ish armed bikers. Care to enlighten us how those Cro-Magnon spawn are tied to your masterplan.”

Sasha sniffles a bit as he admires his reflection in the shard of mirror he snorted the blow off of before peering out the window of the limo. In addition to the normal security SUVs that escorted the trio on any of their excursions he made out the distinct shapes of bikers trailing along a ways head, their leather vests emblazoned with colorful paths were hard to miss. Even at this distance he could see that the motley lot were already behaving badly, heckling traffic and so on.. Great. Had his beloved Uncle not put him under surveillance perhaps he could have averted this clusterfuck in the making instead of focusing how he could attend the celebration tonight. Needless to say his pseudo-ward was needed else where in the company this weekend and he managed to avoid going to the office.

“Righto, as I mentioned earlier as I waited for my attorneys to escort me out of the integration room Tuesday night. I wracked me brains on what went wrong with the whole record store deal and nothing came to mind. It was not until teatime with my drug dealer that I came to my epiphany. We as a collective were being aligning ourselves a little too much towards order and we should focus on adding some chaos to balance things out. Only then would the commonfolk learn to respect our intrinsic authority. My drug dealer suggested contacting the Visagoths to provide extra security tonight and I thought it was a good idea at the time, but upon further reflection I now consider one of…if not the best idea I ever had. I met with Bubba the rural biker gang’s representative on Thursday and things just like clicked. Not only was Bubba extremely passionate about history for some reason, he also really drove home the point he and his cohorts were one percenters; that had to be good as one percent is an indicator of quality. These guys are in upper echelons for sure. To top it all off the gang also offered competitive pricing as all it took to hire their services was $50,000, some beer kegs, and the promise that could fight someone. Great deal. Oh, yeah they are also going to smuggle Bob out of the country at some point this coming week. Take him on a drug route up to Canada and then sweet Bobby will be flown to India where my father ensures me the government won’t extricate him back to the USA.”

“Bless up dude, let see those filthy degenerate scum mess with us now.” The trio share a hearty chuckle.

Marinalia (Romus) Olympus

&

Victoria Darya Romus

Centre Point . Public Party . Firday evening

Marinalia looked up slightly, the man towered over her and was built even bigger perhaps than her Godather, and last she saw him looked like he ate weights for breakfast, Ivan had been her father's first officer for years rising through the ranks together till he was a Senior Captain with global Licenses for sailing on anywhere but areas like the Panama Canal. When his Daughters where Born he ended up marlins unofficial, and Victoria's legal godfather.

THe names did not mean much to her but from the badge and name she guessed he was connected to something a tad more dangerous than the rich idiots and there hired goons, Polite and carefully balanced reaction was definitely called for. The mn was huge, dark skinned and was that a smell of Oranges?

With a measured English accent and calm tone, hiding the nerves underneath within reason, not perfect but it did not do to show weakness, her mother and Grandfather had orred her to death when younger trying to teach her the basics of being diplomatic, years later it paid off. it seemed like revealing why was needed much as it hurt. Raised partly by both halves had taught her well, Diplomacy and part off her father's icey demeanor when needed had helped her manage to gain a successful flying career over 3 continents.

Then, i have nothing against you, your Employer, and no interest in impacting your ... trade.

The people i have a grudge against tried to drug me so some pathetic Indian fop could get laid.. Add his friends, well the scum of humanity have arrived in Sol City. Karma will be calling.

Enjoy your evening, I have no wish to disrupt you or your Employer's Business..

Turning away and heading back to the Stall, She immediately ordered anything with chocolate in, being a triple choclatte cookie and cream creation. Nothing the young woman, she looked abit nervous, with all going on, everyone maybe was... if they even noticed? sighing slightly, and nibbling on it to cheer her up.

Sorry... Gah trouble seems to haunt me.. I kinda had a run in with some overly rich idiots... i thought he was one of there goons... Mistaken identity. Id be careful round them, theres a Indian, A arrogant Russian and a Cuben a woman would be wise to be careful around.

so... Trying to be more cheerful, you new to Sol? If not, you know any decent place that sells Fish and Chips...?

Vesarian kept one eye on his long blonde haired Daughter, seeing her walk away and get some food, the man and recent events, he decided he would keep a careful eye on them tonight if he could. He might of been absent 6 months of the year but his parental rage at what happened to Marlin was simmering away behind the eyes cold as the Artic.

Victoria Looked over as her father left to get a drink and leave them be, much as he was protective he also knew when to give them space and let them make there own mistakes or successes. at a certain point you had to trust them to make the right choices. He had sailed to some of the worst ports on the planet, had deliver to men little more than medieval warlords, and still was alive and trading. The business was a small one and shipping legal deliveries to less palatable parts of the globe had become a day job. He did not consider the use of what he shipped from pistols to a full Company of 105mm artillery. It was just stock, stock to be delivered on time and intact.

Victoria smiled, thinking on her response. Milo had passed, but she was always able to find a weak point, especially after her illness, they had become closer despite the many years apart over her lifetime. Laughing and taking his hand, He needed training on egg related things it needed.

Its a phrase from home... Good Egg, good person.

That went well, Trial by fire i guess... Blacksmith are used to heat!

The guy with a card board box suit, it was pretty inventive and well made for the little resources it used, least someone had a sense of humour and was willing to push the envelope. wait, seeing them turn she recognised the person as Joseph.. yeah the one who had helped her outside the jazz night.

Wait..its Joseph! He offered me a jacket after the jazz disaster! i gotta thank him..

Well, Pale part is not a lie, Dance it is, once we say hi to box man. I was going to ask you at Jazz night, better late than never!

Not seeming to mind the comment, his was not meant in offense unlike others and she did blend in a tad too much with the white faux fur, now with a few small flurries of snow on the hoods little polar bear ears. it was cute, yet formal. perfect . Leading Milo on, she spotted him by a food stall near the dance area, Fairy Tale of New York Just started up, several couples getting a tad too busy under the mistletoe to notice.

Tapping Joseph on his card board shoulder gently

hello, No cutting remarks needed tonight i hope. i still owe you for helping to try and find my sister.. THank you.

Milo, Joseph, meet my two knights in shining armour each other.

Smiling, she seemed happy, the night seemed to be going well and the distant rumble in the distance was growing louder but but no one could hear it over the sound of music, Christmas songs and general happy chatter and noise of the busy public Holiday party.

Vesarian Romus leant back slightly with a beer and watched the event lazily but also actively, seeing the podium and a flash of white fur coat near the edge of a dance area, she was having a good night and did not need him interrupting her date anymore than already had. The Mayor on the podium and civil staff had that obvious trying to hide a panic look. They gave a good try but the old Senior Captain was too experienced to be as easily fooled. Checking his phone casually and seeing a posetive message that the shipment was at its destination and fully intact. One more bonus won, Ivan could handle the short run later on to Canada while he was flying out to Moscow to meet some representative from Kalashnikov Group regarding a tricky shipment later in the new year in the Cape Horn Region.

Some of the worst seas on earth, it would certainly be a new and interesting challenge. Turning his thoughts back the event, shrugged and still instinctively went to check his waist and tighten up his coat. Months of working off african coast and being allowed to carry a side arm for anti piracy protection. With his feelings about some who seemed to gathering at event, he almost wished he did have one.

Up above reports from cameras and various police began to feed into the staff at the event. The group became far more busy as news feeds reported what had been classified as a Major security alert. They mayor had hosted this event since he was elected to the job reviving a old city tradition in another form. With his desk still busy from the Jazz night, ATF, Marshalls and more in his city, not to count Transport Authorities pissed off. He did not need another Disaster. It would only encourage the Federal government to send more of its minions to his city.

Tensions were already high in the government, he did not need any more. His doctor would not like to read his blood pressure recently and probably tried to have had him sent to the medical centre on Monday morningg.

Centre Point

It was safe to say that a venue catering to dance and expression was nothing Winter could consider his virtue. Watching the party unfold in front of raven eyes, Winter lowered his gaze towards the now snow covered concrete. His namesake had proceeded to paint the streets a celestial white, beauty and grace incarnate. It did however manage a chilling cold which proceeded to creep through Winter's jacket and embraced his cold skin, as if a snow coated blanket. The young man leaned against a stone wall, his eyes scanning the area to lay witness upon various stalls of food, and trinkets. Focusing his attention on the falling petals of snow, Winter managed the softest smile across his lips. Snow, much like a rose, had thorns in its very own right. The glacial embrace of a winter night stung deeply, indeed.

Shifting his gaze towards the ever amassing crowd of people, Winter turned his music up with a sigh managing a small gust of air to escape his mouth. His presence was a side effect, to say the best. An event coming to place as he was heading home, from the store. Though, he could not deny the pleasant scent of hot chocolate emanating from the cup in his hands, a addition accompanying the gingerbread cookies offered in stall and home. Christmas, it was a time of year considered magical, and full of delight. Though, as cliche as the scene was, Winter did not consider it a chapter of his life worth a second thought. Hades and he had spent the last two years together, and proceeded to watch the fireworks a few days later. It would be a lie to claim comfort a distance from such hearth, and home. Winter enjoyed it, and being together with his beloved friend was all he had wished.

It brought a thought to mind, if he was to be honest. Winter had yet to buy a gift for Hades. That cat did love presents, and tearing the paper from place was half the fun. Indeed, the image brought laughter to the young author's ears before he proceeded to sip from his cup. This event probably offered something that mischievous feline would like.

Trailing the passage of stalls, toys and trinkets, Winter traced the various colorful sights in search for that one trinket which would dot his attention. Something out to manage the feat.

Friday Night >>> outside of the Flour Meadough Bakery

Distant rolling thunder and the sounds of heavy rain on a tin roof filled the smaller bedroom. A twin bed pushed up against the far corner with a few dressers and a closet with wooden doors lined the far wall. The room was kept neat synthetic hard wood floors and sky blue painted walls with a few old pictures dotted around where the only things that decorated the room. Other than the sounds of a storm being projected from a nearby speaker, the only other thing that stirred in the dimly lit room was a man. A tall strong man that was putting on a black suit, with a white shirt, and red tie, something formal to wear for the evening events. This man had shortcut black hair and hazel eyes and was hiding a few tattoos underneath his suit and tan trench coat, while he secured his Pistol in its concealed place at his hip.

The .40 caliber Glock 22 felt good at his side while he checked to make sure he had one spare magazine with it. Sure the man knew he wasn’t working tonight, after all he started up at the new place on Monday. Still, the man was feeling anxious, today was the day he planned to go to the address his mother gave him before she died. The address of someone who would know where his real father was. He had already driven there before but couldn't work up the nerve to go knock on the door, sometimes he hated being awkward or having social anxiety.

So the man double-checked to make sure he had everything before turning off his speaker and sighing as the sounds of the city flooded back into the room. The company apartment wasn't that bad, a few blocks from the House of Lords put it within walking distance, and he just had a roommate was all. Speaking of roommate, his was lounging around in the living room watching some nature documentary. The tall man closed his door and headed for the front door.

"Hey victor you going out to see the sights and smells of the fair? Maybe sample the local night-life?" the man on the couch called out to him without looking. This man was shorter than Victor, with red short hair and a subtle Irish accent. "Hey Will, yeah I'm going to go take care of some personal things first though" Will laughed and took another drink of his beer. "Well maybe I’ll see you out there then, I’ll be heading out in an hour or so." Victor nodded and left, closing the door behind him. He liked Will they served together in Afghanistan, and he was the one to set them up with this company two years ago and came with him when he transferred here, a good lad.

Victor took his time walking to the elevator and taking it down to the car garage at the bottom of the building, at least it wasn't too far of a drive to where he was going, but with traffic he planned ahead and got a cab that was waiting for him down below. There were a few other people up and around, dressed in nice suits and formal dresses. Everyone seemed to be in good spirits about this shindig the mayor was throwing, honestly he liked it too, helped him forget about where he was and what he was about to do as he climbed into the cab and gave the cabby the address.

The drive to the address didn't take too long, and they had little trouble even with the events going on. The only issue they had on the way over was a white Rolls Royce Limo and its motor cade almost forced them off the road and effectively cut them off. His cabby kept his cool other than a few angry remarks towards them, Victor couldn't help but wonder if he would be working for some of those people later on. He honestly didn't like rich people too much, they were always tried to express how much better they were then him and never liked that he told them their money and power would have trouble stopping a bullet at point-blank range. That’s not to say he ever threatened them he just liked to point out hard truths that their money couldn't buy or stop everything.

The cab finally slowed to a stop outside a small house that doubled as a bakery the small sign out front reading "Flour Meadough" a funny play on words sure, at least the people here had some humor. The cab pulled away after he was paid and Victor was left alone outside a closed Bakery and sighed, "Well let’s get this over with" he spoke to himself before stepping forward toward the front door of the bakery that had a small sign that said closed with working hours and a phone number imprinted on the glass window. For more than a moment he paused outside that door, his heart was beginning to race and his stomach hurt, but he pressed on and pounded on the door.

Knock, knock, knock, he stepped back and looked around, “see Vic now no one will answer and you can go drink your sorrows away” he spoke to himself quietly. In his anxiety he rubbed his hands together then started to pick at the calluses on his hands before slowly stepping back and forth and checks his phone. He wasn’t looking at anything in particular and could easily check the time on his watch but decided to stick around for a few more minutes anyway, at least the neighborhood was quiet and nice.

Ashton Griffone || Central Point (Probably. She has no idea honestly)

Today had been a somewhat interesting day, and by that Ashton spent most of the day just walking around Sol City. Absentmindedly and utterly lost. Which way was home again? Or the Fire Station? She wasn't really sure but hey she luckily wasn't in any particular hurry. Around a week ago, there had been quite the nasty fire. Ashton of course, lept in head first to the rescue to rescue any civilians possibly inside. However, the tall firefighter experienced a minor accident as one of the beams collapsed above her. Luckily, she was only in the hospital for about a week and her back was healing up nicely. On the downside, work had given her time off and they weren't taking no as a answer. Said the giant of a firefighter worked too hard anyways.

So now here she was, fresh out of the hospital and just wandering the grand city of Sol. Mostly enjoying the scenery. Currently, the tall ambiguous woman wandered through the streets. Fingerless gloved hands shoved in her coat pockets as her long legs carried her easily through the bustling streets. It always seemed lively, even if it was getting quite dark. City lights were shining and the sounds of the city were bustling. She could hear people chatter, their footsteps making soft thumps against the ground, cars zoom by or honk their horns, and even the sound of music bustling out of stores she passed by.

Amethyst eyes glancing around, Ashton tilted her head, her messy dirty blonde hair slightly swaying with the motion. Where was she now? Somewhere in the city perhaps? There were a lot of stores, perhaps she could manage to find a arcade and play some DDR or something? Maybe try to shop somewhere? Get a present for everyone at the station? It was a little cold out, but luckily Ashton naturally had a high body heat and had this jacket on. Perhaps working with fire, fired her up a bit one could say? Eh, who knows.

Giving a soft amused smile to herself, she continued her long strides, her tall stature for the most part towering over any passerby. Made it easy to gaze around and see which way she wanted to go next.

...That was until she slammed face first into cold metal belonging to a traffic light.

Staggering backwards, Ashton did a few hops backwards, eyes bulging wide open in panic as she slipped her hands out to wave wildly in order to somewhat maybe help re-balance her. In which case only managed to re-throw her back head first into the metal pole. Feeling her head spin, her hands managed to catch the pole for a moment, causing the tall boyish woman to give a silent sigh of relief. Feeling the cold of the metal stab at her unprotected fingers, she reeled back and stood stock straight. Pouting at the pole a little like it was a dog that had just snapped at her, she rubbed her head with her hands to calm the mild throbbing before continuing on her way.

Just being a klutz, no need to worry about it at all. No need to worry about that she fell into the same pole twice. Or the fact she was still lost. Or the fact she was hungry. Nope. No worries.

Paige Kennedy

Xi maneuvered the Marshal Service Taurus through the pedestrian barricades to a comfortable position a few car lengths down from a Sol-City police cruiser parked in the center median. Its officer waved them through casually as soon as Paige flashed her badge from the window. Like all the rest of the Federal vehicles Xi had ever driven, it was a factory reject, not that anyone would notice. Somewhere along the assembly line there might have been some overspray or maybe two body-panels didn’t fit quite right, whatever the case, cosmetic rejects went straight to governmental services and police departments. The average person would likely never even notice the difference and he rather liked these cars. All wheel drive was standard and they were certainly an improvement over some of the old Crown Victorias he’d driven before.

Paige watched the crowds moving about. Normally this sort of detail would have been drab. Press the flesh, meet the people, make yourself seen. However, a new city reset everything and she enjoyed the festive atmosphere. Most people looked to be in good spirits and the area they surveyed appeared to be composed of the high middle-class and the locally wealthy. She knew the bored suburban women would likely talk her head off. The sight of a young female Marshal seemed to ignite some sort of forgotten sense of adventurism in them. If she weren’t working she thought it might be a good time. It was certainly generous for the city to put on such a celebration, but then again the city’s “generosity” was exactly what brought them here. They listened to the police band which had been mostly quiet until the sound of motorcycle exhaust became audible in the distance.

“Did he say Visagoths?” Xi said, slightly dumbfounded. “Doesn’t look like their kind of scene.” He remembered hearing about the local one-percenter club in some of their briefings.

Paige produced a set of binoculars from the glove compartment and scanned the distance. “Yea? Well here they come, don’t see any fancy dresses either.” She looked at how they were scattered rather than riding in formation like most clubs. “Got some kind of high-end car and others mixed between them.”

“Escort detail maybe?” Xi questioned. His tone was such that it was evident he almost didn’t believe what he was saying. The radio continued to crackle with frantic reports. Some carried baseball bats, knives and other weaponry.

“Don’t think they’re here to make friends and influence people,” Paige said flatly. It appeared that Xi was correct. The car and few SUVs travelled amongst them without assailment. Maybe some kind of show of force? She thought, but the whole scene was out of place. One-percenters didn’t make their stands in territory they already firmly controlled and they certainly didn’t allow anything other than a Harley Davidson amongst the pack. The sight of some of them harassing the ordinary people just trying to enjoy the evening ground her nerves. “I’ve dealt with these losers before,” She said taking out her phone, “Mostly HA’s and Outlaws where I’m from,” She dialed 911 on her phone, but stopped short of pushing the send button to show him what she was doing. “What was that bar on the Southside that was their headquarters?”

“The 501 Club?” Xi said. “What are you doing?”

“Turn that radio on some heavy metal or somethin’ and turn it up, loud” She said. Xi tuned the radio and cranked the volume. His new partner was certainly a creative type. Paige pushed send and waited. A stern male voice popped up on the other end almost instantly.

“911, what is your emergency?”

“H-Hello!” Paige shouted into the phone, “I’m a w-waitress at the 501 on Southside! There’s some kind of big fight going on between the bikers!”

“Did you say the 501 Club ma’am?” The voice was cool and calm. He was clearly accustomed to taking calls from the location.

“YES!” Paige shouted back in the most helpless voice she could manage against the blaring sound of thrash metal, “They’re going to kill each other! A bunch of Angels said they were going to burn us down, please help!”

“Ma’am are you injured?”

“WHAT?” She shouted back.

“Are you injur…”

“OH GOD DON’T KILL ME!” She screamed. She was feeling her oats now and beginning to impress herself.

“Ma’am! Stay on the line!”

She cut the call and turned off her phone to prevent the callback she knew they would try. Her face was slightly flushed and she fanned herself briefly to regain her composure. She handed Xi the binoculars and pointed, “There’s the road captain right there, he’s got a scanner, now watch.”

A burly, full patch biker stood at one of the oncoming intersections stopping traffic against its normal flow to let the group pass through. He glanced down at the scanner clipped to his belt as he waited for his brothers to pass by along with the posh limousine convoy. A split second later he ripped the small radio from his side and pinned it to his ear. He instantly threw an arm up in the air and whistled sharply to gain the immediate attention of as many thugs as possible. He waved one hand in a circular motion and the order went down the line. By the dozens the formation began to turn around and blaze a path for the interstate leaving the escort vehicle… unescorted.

Xi shook his head in disbelief. “That’s some savage shit, Paige.” He did not put the binoculars down. “So what happens when they get there? SCPD is going to send units.”

“I figure since most of the city cops are tied up here, the dumbasses should get there first, then they’ll see that it was a false alarm, be pissed off for about ten seconds, maybe longer for the slower ones, then they’ll realize they get to keep whatever bribe money they were paid for the escort detail,” She flipped the sun visor down and momentarily glanced at her reflection making a few adjustments to loose hair strands, “Along about that time the beat cops should show up and catch them carrying all those weapons, so everyone wins.”

“Except the poor saps that paid them for the escort,” Xi snickered.

“Well, we can’t please everybody,” Paige said flipping the mirror closed and opening her door. “Now let’s go have ourselves an enjoyable evening.”
