Okay, gang. When @Loony finishes their CS, and @tobiax finishes a backup CS For Friendship, we’ll start the day after. Tobi and I have most of the opening post already finished. If someone else comes in wanting Friendship, fine. But I’m not letting us get delayed again. Stay tuned, boys and girls- we’re entering the launch sequence.

Appearance: Fairly tall with an olive skin tone and a preference for tighter shirts, which are usually a single, bold or bright color. His black hair is usually slicked back with two prominent forelocks. Diego tends to wear tight dark pants, although he occasionally mixes it up with somewhat loud accessories.
Bio: Anyone you ask will say Diego's a friendly guy. He has an energetic air which mixes well with his party going tendencies. Those who know him know that he's always there to lend an ear to anyone who asks it. However, not many are able to say much more. In fact, Diego does not really open up to anyone about his personal issues. Be it medical issues, financial strain, or family problems, his lips are buttoned tighter than a tin can, despite remaining open to the issues of others. In his mind, Diego does this because he doesn't want to despoil his typical demeanor in the eyes of everyone else- to see him being down or serious would bring down the mood when they want to have fun.

Looks are often deceiving, and this is most certainly the case for Dorotea. While her attire likely reflects her nature, being dark and beat up, her features are nothing short of being soft and round. Her complexion (pale and flecked) and her hair (ginger, straight but whispy and with an almost bristly texture) almost having a washed-out look to them - even her freckles seem to bleed into one another. The only part of her that cements her otherwise gentle and borderline ghastly colors are a pair of deep green irises within her downturned, sunken, sleep-deprived eyes, and the only shape which breaks the soft roundness is her nose, which is almost block-like due to its similar width from the bridge to the tip, and has the slightest hint of a hook.

The girl herself carries a sort of heaviness to her. Her expression, half hidden by a side curtain of hair, tends to be melancholic, jaded, or bitter, sometimes an odd mixture of all three, and her steps often drag behind her.

Bio

People often mistaken niceness and kindness. Dorotea is not one of those people. In fact, she's a living example of the difference.

And frankly, it's not pretty.

For while she is indeed a kind person, she is far from nice. She's well meaning, but she's mean. Rude, crass, and full of sass - tact has no place in her heart, words, or actions. And while she is deeply caring, she doesn't give a damn about sensibilities, about what makes you feel happy or safe. To her, the true is far more important than the just, and the good more important than the fair - she cares about what is best for you, rather than what you like most. Easily put, she's a hard to swallow pill, if that pill were also a mento and your stomach was filled with soda rather than gastric acid, and it happened to swear like a sailor as a bonus.

Underneath her soft features is a hardened, rugged girl, forced to grow up far too early and yet paradoxically refuses to grow up...despite yet never having the chance to be a child in the first place. She lives in limbo, despising and deeply mistrusting grownups, and struggles deeply with her own nearing adulthood, clinging to her few comforts and childhood pleasures - they're one of the few things that can get her out of her usual grumpy mood, regardless of whatever mockery it might bring.

That's not to say she's all bitterness - Dorotea is a surprisingly affectionate and loving person despite being an asshole, and it's not exactly something she hides. It's just not something that comes out often since she (understandably) has few friends, and even fewer people she trusts - that tends to be a common case with people from abusive households, and hers, without going into detail, was indeed one of those, and has shaped much of who she is as a person today.

Her Partner

Name: "Bud", short for Buddy. Dorotea is creative like that.

Personality: If Dorotea is an example of kindness without niceness, then Bud is an example of niceness without kindness. He is an incredibly sweet, polite, and welcoming person, charming and friendly, but far more timid than the bold and bitter girl. Unlike her, he struggles with being kind when it doesn't benefit him or when he doesn't like the person in need of help, and he can sure hold a grudge. It's not to say that his niceness is entirely false, but that it's flimsy - often absent when it's needed most. The two would compliment each other's flaws if they didn't drive each other crazy. And while Bud will often resent Dorotea's harsh ways and, in his mind, unreasonable and irrational behaviour, and while Dorotea finds him a cowardly two-faced fool, it's clear that Dorotea cares deeply for Bud, and perhaps Bud does the same.

-Once upon a time, in another place, she might've been known by another nickname, but that holds no relevance here.

-Has an odd fixation on crayons, particularly green ones.

-She and her partner are both musically talented. While Bud (as Gekomon) has an affinity with horns, she has an affinity with strings, particularly the cello.

-She's bi, with a slight leaning towards girls.

-While being of Ukrainian descent, she is rather distanced from her roots and only speaks English fluently. She hardly knows any Ukrainian and she's actually more fluent in French than it.

@Loony I love how you used the Digimon Story sprites (At least I think Pabumon and Nyaromon are Digimon Story sprites), and your character is quite interesting. And although she has a lot of development to do, I don't think she'd actually have that hard of a time activating her Crest honestly. Whamon is cool and underrepresented though. (And it doesn't matter much, but I think the top of Plesiomon's head is white. It's just the ultra-dynamic shading in the original artstyle has it in full black shadow, as it had no partial shading. That's at least how I see it.) Also, if you don't mind, could you possibly include me in the necessary discussion(s)?
I liked the ties with musicalness and Gekomon as well. Captain Tuba Neck, away!

I actually had to mix sprites since Bud's line wasn't consistent to one game, so I used Digimon story and the Japanese-only Digimon Adventure 02: D-1 Tamers. Thought it'd be nice to sort of tie in to the whole digital feel if that makes sense? Thus why I used game sprites. ^ ^"

I was worried about that and originally Bud was another concept for a Kindness crest holder (who was going to have a digimon which was nearly Bud's line, and Dorotea originally was going to have Vorvomon and then some other fiery line after I realized Haruka had Vorvomon //wHEEZES), but ETH said that he preferred Dorotea's deal with her connection to Kindness. Bud was made Dorotea's partner both to help diversify the digimon we had here, to not lose both of my ideas, and to give Dorotea further conflict, especially since her crest might be easier to activate (perhaps Bud could slow her down?). If there's an issue with her crest being easier to activate though I'm willing to have more pitches!

I'll also be sure to include you in any conversations, no worries! Her backstory is pretty goshdarned fleshed out but a lot of it goes into really heavy topics like suicide, child abuse and gaslighting, the failing of child protective services (while the other two are familiar topics Dorotea's exposure and connection to these things vastly differ from mine, but her relationship with child protective services very closely mirrors my own), etc., and I didn't know if this was the place + I didn't want to make it drag on for too long, plus it was gonna be hard to make it all flow properly.

And yeah! Plesiosaur also ties in musically, and while Whamon doesn't, I like to think of whale songs and what have you. Thought it'd be a cute connection.

Bio: If anyone could embody the number Two, it would be Carter
Carter was born to an american military family, the middle child between two daughters. While him being the only son would make him stand out, it did little to help him stand out among the three. He wasn't the smartest, nor physically gifted. He was quick to find out that he could gain attention by changing himself to suit people's needs, making as many friends as possible to fill in in that emotional hole in his heart.
Growing up, Carter was just shy of everything. As he grew, he found that his life was still hollow. He valued some of those friends more than others, creating a divide between the real friends and the supplementary ones. He couldn't replace emotional connections with many faces. Graduating, Carter had nowhere to go, but he didn't meet the requirements to follow in his parent's foot steps. He took whatever odd jobs were available to him, but always gravitated towards the skies. He wanted to fly, to soar at intense speeds. If he could just take one thing for himself, it would be to be a pilot, but Carter always knew better than to hope too much one something.
Personality:After spending his teenage years molding himself this way and that to make as many friends as possible, Carter knows a thing or two about people and how they work. While its certainly true that he learned his lesson about manipulation and change, all of that time dedicated towards being a jack of all trades has certainly left a mark on him. He's an optimist, always hoping for the best even though he rarely gets his way. If someone is happy, he's happy, and he's okay with that.

Chip the Terriermon

Name: Chip

Personality: Chip, despite his small size and easygoing nature, yearns for battle with a partner who shares his view. Carter might not have been the best candidate, but they get along much better than a person who would better fit what Chip considers Ideal. Fight the good fight, but enjoy a good snack and a long rest when you're not on the field. While Carter is busy making friends with every other branch on a tree, Chip consider's himself more a thinker's Digimon, assessing the problems ahead and trying his best to work them out without having to sacrifice a potential fight. He gathers and picks up much of what passes before his eyes, and rarely forgets things, no matter how useless the information is. Maybe he just wants to crush some stuff sometimes. You just gotta let it happen or suffer a grumpy Plush-like Rookie Digimon.

@Loony Ah, that was the other game I thought, although I forgot the name. Digital feel indeed. A for effort. Since Enter accepted it, it should be fine.

And I was going to mention that in the messages. I didn't notice the same faux pa happened with Nyaromon (until you mentioned fixing it and I checked to see if it was edited), but I greatly appreciate that you were receptive to cutting down on redundancies instead of whining like a little snot. But no need to feel bad about it. Now, if I may- you were fine with Whamon except that Sweet Chomp doesn't need to be listed as a technique- his sheer size lets him carry people in his mouth, enough said. He's large enough and the Techniques are varied enough that they work with four of them. Now, for Plesiomon, "Sad Water Blast" just seems to be a bad translation of "Sorrow Blue". Digimon World 3 seems rife with that kind of translation error (Which is why some weebs uninformed individuals call the Digiegg of Sincerity the Digiegg of Reliability and call the Digiegg of Reliability the Digiegg of Honesty, for example. [As far as I can tell, that's what happened]). Now, as far as "Water Tail Blast" is concerned, I can't find a real source for it anywhere. It appeared on the digimon wiki, a Deviantart post that was just a grab of Plesiomon's official art, and "DMA + DigiDex" which is significantly influenced by the main editor's oppinion to the point where things are made up and people confuse it for a legitimate resource.
For Gekomon, you can just make Utsukushii Utagoe be any single song type attack, since it translates to "Beautiful Song" or something like that.

For Utsukushii Utagoe, could it be a potentially sleep-inducing sound attack, in reference to its support ability in Digimon Story, Deep Sea Slumber?

@Loony Thank. Four moves is fine for an Ultimate just not eight. It can be a sleep attack, yeah. From what I remember, Gekomon in Digimon World 4 put you to sleep or something.
