Except for Superman, who seems continually the most shit on in terms of video gaming. There are multiple X-Men games and at least one Wolverine game better than every single Superman game.
What kills me is that making a good Superman game really shouldn't be that hard. Games like Crackdown, Just Cause, the later Saints Row games, all show that playing an absurdly overpowered main character can be a hoot. And that's not even going into games like Asura's Wrath which go completely insane with feats of strength or Megaton Rainfall where you can fly around the entire universe.
Just take the flying mechanics of any given DBZ game (let's say Tenkaichi or one of the other over-the-shoulder ones), the charge-up melee combat of Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, give him a 'spirit meter' from the old THQ/AKI wrestling games instead of a traditional health bar, and from there the rest is just spit-and-polish. You've already got George Newburn in the Injustice games, go get Clancy Brown and Dana Delaney (and some other voice actors who aren't Nolan North or Steve Blum playing everything). Have some challenge levels where you gave against the Flash around the city. Do some side missions where you uncover Luthor's master plan by snooping around as Lois Lane. Make the main villain Brainiac and have him bottle up Metropolis as an excuse to keep the player from flying off to the moon or whatever. And Bob's your uncle, a good Superman game (or at least a passable one)
