Meh. If they had said, "Yea she's our MJ" people would lose their minds because "ZOMG BLACK AND NOT REDHEAD". If they said "Hey she's MJ but not the normal MJ you're used to" people would bitch about that. I'm fine with them doing what they did and then having a very comic-booky winky moment at the end

Yeah, Zendaya has come a long way since a crappy Disney sitcom about dancing. I think she has excellent timing and more range than she really should have.

Homecoming is probably the best Spider-Man movie for a lot of reasons, Zendaya's performance being one of them. That said, the main reason it's above Raimi's Spider-Man 2 is because of Michael Keaton.

I’m not sure I think Michael Keaton is better than Alfred Molina or not, honestly. The only problem I have with Molina’s Octavius is that he doesn’t have an obnoxious German accent.

I like “good guy corrupted by technology/thing” approach, personally. But yeah I’m with you on Raimi’s Spider-Man ideas. I feel like they are boring as piss.

I'll forgive this blasphemy because Homecoming recreated ASM #33 damn near perfectly. (And because Homecoming is legitimately good.) But there's a few reasons I can't, in good conscience, call it the best Spider-Man film.

ASM 2, definitely not. They fucked that up as badly as they did Spider-Man 3. But the first ASM was spot-on.

Ugh. The Amazing series had so much potential. So much squandered, destroyed potential. The first 10 minutes or so of ASM2 is some of the best Spider-Man action on film. Too bad the rest of the film exists.
