ÏŸ Revival ÏŸ
Centuries tell numerous stories of a superhuman group of individuals banding together for the common goal of taking down a dangerous evil for the sake of the entire universe. Ranging from intergalactic aliens to other dimension beings, our world can count on a certain group colorful individuals teaming up and saving the world from certain evil. No one is one hundred percent sure of when the development of these herculean teams started, but one of the many tales of the Power Rangers includes a certain battle with a parasitic evil. With one final blow, this particular group of legendary Power Rangers from ancient history used all of their energy to ensure that the evil was eradicated, removed completely from this world. With the parasite gone, so were the powers, never to be seen again.
In the year 2020, Angel Grove, California is growing exponentially into populous hub of technology and innovation. With cities like Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco competing for the attention of the younger generation, the allure of Angel Grove appears to be not only the numerous opportunities for growth in a variety of industries; there is also a certain beauty about it being the place of origin for the modern day Power Rangers. Of course, the Power Rangers have not been seen in many years, but that doesn't stop the locals from talking about it as if the salvation of the human race happened yesterday.
At the heart of the city's financial boom is Gaia Corporation (Gaia Corp. for short). Gaia Corp. emerged nearly two decades ago as a company focusing on the creation of electronic devices and applications. What originally started as a simple company that mimicked Microsoft or Apple soon blossomed into a company that demanded the attention of the federal government. Now, in addition to the creation of phones, televisions, and consoles, Gaia Corp. appears to be in bed with the government in terms of creating a division that helped militarized operations. Unfortunately, most of this is kept under the table and hushed from the public view, but no one can deny the power that Grace Thorne, CEO of Gaia Corp., has harnessed in such a little amount of time.
Perhaps Gaia Corp. was called upon at the right time, because slowly but surely insectoid humanoids have been emerging across the city of Angel Grove and attacking individuals. No one is sure where exactly these creatures came from, but now seemed like as good a time as any for the Power Rangers to return once again to cure the ills of the city. What Gaia Corp. wasn't counting on was somehow "losing" their supply of electronic devices that was theoretically supposed to be used to equip a group of trained professionals to use out in the field. Now... not only are these devices somewhere scattered across the Angel Grove, only to be found by who knows... but also there are miniature battery charged operated dinosaur creatures looking for a person to call their master.
With the return of the parasite to Angel Grove and Gaia Corp. in a complete frenzy to find their equipment, this new group of ragtag misfits must eventually come together under the realization that there are threats in this world that can only be stopped by a revival of the Power Rangers.
ÏŸ Gaia Corp. ÏŸ
Gaia Corporation is the fastest growing electronic and appliances company in the world at this moment. Inspired by other companies and energized by the personal pride that they can do what any company does (except only better), in two decades Gaia Corp. has risen to a level of monopolization, completely throttling the weaker competition while trying to disable the major competitors. Most notably, Gaia Corp. has created the world's most technologically advanced cell phones and television sets, but with the development of their military division under the blessing of the federal government, now more than ever are they experiencing a huge flow of cash towards their technological creations.
Grace Thorne, chief executive officer of Gaia Corp., has dreamed of this moment for her entire life. Initially, while in college, she faced rejection of her ideals with many arguing that a woman would be unfit for advancement in the world technology, she proved her doubters wrong, going from interning and working for cheap at other companies, to ultimately purchasing the competition and taking on all of their assets in order to make her company stronger. By all means is she a ruthless businesswoman without much regard for the emotional states of other people. She's is solely focused on what can give her the most money, prestige and power... even if it means stepping on the throat of the competition in the process.
ÏŸ The Hive ÏŸ
Dubbed by the general public, the Hive is the manifestation of the return of the legendary parasite that threatened the Earth centuries ago. True to their name, the Hive is compromised of insect-like humanoid creatures that have a variety of abilities that relate to being a pest to the human race. Their primary goals is similar to the one they had centuries ago: takeover the planet Earth so that it may become their home. When their plans didn't work during the original days, the Hive resorted to more drastic and catastrophic means, wanting to create a comet storm that would ultimately destroy the Earth and make it unlivable (thus destroying every ounce of life in the process). The Hive didn't account for the unique partnering of the Power Rangers and their super-powered dinosaur companions to prevent the destruction of the Earth, but now the Hive is back and better than ever.
What is unique for the Hive this time around is that they are much smarter and more calculated about how they plan to attack the Earth. Originally, they wanted to overpower humans but seeing as how that can be problematic, the Hive has now taken into consideration outsmarting humans. That much can be seen as true given that they have waited so many centuries, biding their time until the Earth was at its most vulnerable: a time where the Power Rangers have disappeared completely and their defenses are completely exposed under the assumption that there wouldn't be anymore threat to the planet. The Earth would be in for quite the rude awakening.
ÏŸ The Rangers ÏŸ
Similar to most of the Rangers of the past, this new group of Rangers is a group of unsuspecting individuals who are simply living their lives to the fullest until they receive the call of becoming Power Rangers. Remember those miniature dinosaurs? Well, at some point they found their way to their respective "master" and have been clinging to them for who knows how long. These Rangers are young adults (early 20s), so it certainly would be odd to see them with what appears to be a toy, right? Regardless, they are ordinary human beings, but once they fully become Rangers, they cannot deny their super human abilities that come with being one of Earth's guardians from the parasite. No, they don't start off as a team, going into battle individually and they probably would be surprised to see that someone else is a Ranger too. Do they hide their identity from one another? Or do they partner up for the greater good?

ÏŸ Rules ÏŸ
- As much as I love that you have interest in this RP, it is not first come, first serve. I may have reached out to you to see if you were interested in this RP, but that is not a guarantee that you will get the role that you want. A guy's got to advertise is RP, alright?
- Absolutely no godmodding please. The only individuals allowed to do so (and this is usually within the plot or to get things moving in the right direction) are the GM (me) and a co-GM. I may be looking for a co-GM, but as of right now we will see how things shape out.
- The goal for this RP is to be a bit grittier and maturer than your typical Power Rangers television show. Sure, I love the nostalgia and cheesiness of the original shows (haven't seen anything past RPM I believe), but I want you to treat this like a PG-13 movie (we won't tread into R-rated territory). So, I like realistic dialogue, emotions, actions... stuff that you would see in a movie or television show that ain't driven towards kids, capiche?
- Depending on the level of interest, there may be room for more Rangers within the RP. However, to start off, I want to roll with just five of them for the sake of my sanity. If we garner enough interest, then we may just move into expanding the team, though I probably will cap it off at some point.
- In regards to posting, this RP is a casual one, but I want some sort of quality and thought put into posts. I'm not saying post a novel, but give us something to reply to. I hate one liners or posts without any sort of content placed within them. I reserve the right to ask for a post sample (and probably will look at your post history to see what you're working with). So, be on standby if I request that information.
- Activity is a must. You have to be active if you want to participate in this RP. I'm looking for more than one post a week from you, so if you are incapable of doing that, this may not be the RP for you. I understand that you can't post every day or if you have writer's block, but I want to help you push through so this RP can be a success! If at any point you feel that you need to step away from the RP (a hiatus or completely), please let me know. Communication is key for any relationship (or RP).
- I've fumbled with the idea of allowing people to play up to two characters, but for right now, only one character per person. If you are interested in playing another character, feel free to let me know via PM or Discord.
