Callie Johnson

Location: Mutant Underground DC Station
Skills:

Callie had shown where Glimpse could find the tools since she was a mechanic herself as well, she used the tools that they had to help maintain their cars. She was the only one to have a personal car there as well, Callie leaned back in the chair as she helped out around the place. She didn't like the idea that both Veil and Sapphire were both going out again after just getting out of prison, but she nearly had died the day before. Callie still wasn't to sure what to think of the new recruits who had decided to join them, as she shifted slightly and finished up eating her little dinner Callie stood up as she watched the five of them were getting ready to leave.

"You guys stay safe." Callie said as she stood up, and turned to look over at Colossus as he decided to do a group sparing session as she looked over towards Cayden, James and Leighton, wondering if they even had fighting experience and shrugged slightly. "It could be fun, whos pairing up with who then?" Callie asked looking over towards Colossus figuring that he would have an idea on who he wanted to face off with who since it was his idea as well.

Sapphire

Location: The Mutant Underground - Washington D.C. Station
Skills N/A

Sapphire was still not too thrilled about the newbies essentially crashing the Underground over night. It was a pain, and the fact that no one questioned anything was stupid to her. At least on this mission the people who actually were with the Underground outnumbered the newbies. Not by much, but it was definitely something in her mind. She already had decided that she didn't like Glimpse, and Tome she hadn't really gotten to know, so she didn't have an opinion of him too much. However she didn't trust him too much unless he proved to her otherwise.

Hearing Veil call her name, she walked over to where the group was forming. "Sure, I'll drive, then hopefully we'll get there in one piece. But remind me to teach you how to drive one of these days Veil, it is definitely a useful skill to have no matter what you do in the world," she said to her friend with a bit of a laugh. She was perfectly fine driving, since she knew perfectly well how Havok drove, and she did not want to get in a car with someone she still didn't full trust driving if avoidable.

Jack Theriot

Location: Morlock Tunnels

"Casper... As far as I know, you are almost always bored, so I don't think you being bored right now is because of what's going on around you. I think you'll be perfectly fine, okay?" Jack said to his brother, shaking his head somewhat at him. He didn't exactly trust Casper to be alone for more then a few seconds considering how often he tended to wander. It was definitely problematic for him, considering the fact that when Jack had told him to stay put the day before he had gone off somewhere else.

He wasn't too thrilled about Sunshine getting that brand on her face, in his mind she was a bit too young to be able to make that choice. Jack didn't say anything to Sunshine, or to the others about it, considering he had already attempted to talk people out of it. They knew how he felt about the entire thing, so that wasn't exactly helping this for him. Part of him wanted to see about walking away for a few minutes or something, since he didn't really want to be there for this entire thing.

New Outfit

In preparation for the upcoming mission, Max took to his bag and changed out his clothes the old fashioned way. Taking off the newly made outfit of yesterday, folding it onto his bed area, and then changing into his Kevlar outfit he had been wearing previously. Sure this was meerly a surveillance mission, but anything could end in an altercation, and with non x-gene bearers that usually means guns. He’d heard one of his mission partners had a motorcycle, and figured the leather looking outfit would appear more natural on it; That is until Veil announced that the team would take a singular vehicle with Sapphire driving. Max watched as the bruised leader failed to put up her hair, lifting his hand to create a new hair tie in its place then opting to create it in his hand first, best not to make things on others without permission, trust is something that is to be earned with groups such as these, Erg taught him that.

He walked up to Veil and held his hand out. ”Here, wouldn’t do to have our fearless leader thwarted by some hair in her face, I know it bothers me when it has happened so...” With that he created a hair tie in the palm of his hand. The minuscule hues of energy swirling about in his palm until the shape was made and took form for her to grab. With that he picked up his pace a bit and turned to face the group as he walked backwards a bit ”If she gets to drive then I call dibs on sitting next to that heart throb.” Max said as he motioned towards Havock. ”I know this is a surveillance mission but, Incase it comes to it I’d like to know your powers, get a feel for potential team singers and see what we can and cant achieve together.” He beemed a smile at them, genuinely interested in what his current team could accomplish together and separately.

Jinx sat there on the couch, lazing about upside down as he thought on how best to approach the subject. He didn’t really know Anastasia, only that she was young, powerful, and gone for a while. The two queens stood outside the balcony, but he could care less as to what they were saying at the moment. If anything it was some boring talk about finances or fine wines using the biggest words possible to see which telepath could out brain the other. Blegh. No, he had other matters in mind and thus decided to amuse himself with a quick jest. He began to think on the balcony’s door handles, attempting to jinx them so that they’d fall off at next use, the look on their faces would be hysterical if not murderous. The poor maintence guy wouldn’t hear the end of it. But no, the fates weren’t kind and thus they decided the doors would remain as is, unjinxed.

He quickly flipped himself over, now sitting upright on the couch and pulling out a ball of bubble gum and plopping it into his mouth. Stress chewing wasn’t the best habit to have, but it was better than drinking, or drugs, which reminded him that he needed to get in contact with a junkie or a middle man. No, there was only one person that this would truly need to go to, and no middle man could do the job justice. Jinx pulled out his phone and sent a text to Casper; a cute mutant who had a most impressive father that Jinxy just was dying to know more about.
Hey! Casper! My main man what’re you up to? Listen I have a GOLDEN opportunity for you right here. I just scored some premo shit and it’s practically calling your name, don’t worry about the cost too much, i think I have a good deal worked out for you ;)

Jinxed pocketed his phone and looked onto his group of misfits. ”We can either move this to my room, or wait till the grownups leave, but I don’t feel safe speaking with anyone but us three present. The less people who know what we do the better. Isn’t that how Reeva conducts her business?”

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: Mutant Underground -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Today Luna left her leathers behind, leaving them safely tucked away on the packs of her bike. She simply wore her jeans and a fabric tee with jacket to keep a bit of the cold of the night off and managed to keep her hair back with a bit of a bandana she found. It was September on the coast after all. Her nights sleep had been less than satisfactory but efficient enough to give her some energy for the day ahead. She watched some of the training Colossus did with one of the other newbies and then she made the dreaded phone call she had been putting off most of the morning. She placed herself beside Veil before making a phone call, a witness if you would and called Shaw. Voicemail. When she heard his smug voice on the other side announcing that whoever was calling reached their messages, she nearly cried with relief. To say Luna was not excited for potentially seeing the man she grew up calling Uncle, was a bit of an understatement. Still, she left the message that she was in Washington and if he wanted to meet for lunch sometime. After that, Luna excused herself to the garage where she felt more familiar and comfortable with the territory. It was a safe haven, especially when there were still people she had to get acquainted with. Some of them seemed rather nice like Moonwalker and Spark Plug, whereas others were a bit more on edge. With new people coming and going here, one would think they would be comfortable with the different variables.
Supper came and although limited in number, it did the job it was supposed to and Luna was just happy to have something warm in her belly. She cleaned up her share of the supper before following Veil’s call and joined the group that would be going out on the mission. At the announcement of Sapphire being the one to drive, Luna glanced between Veil and her co-pilot.
”I could sit up front and provide directions or would it be easier for me to produce some sort of map?” It could have been construed that Luna simply providing voiced directions would be a trap. They wouldn’t necessarily know where they were going unless they were there. At the least with a map laid out in front of them, they could plan escape routes and other contingencies.

Cayden Proudstar - Moonwalker

Location: Mutant Underground -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Cayden was still bright and bubbly the next morning. His traveling out to Washington didn’t always provide the best sleeping arrangements but here, he was just happy to have a dry place to lay his head for the night and as soon as he laid down, he was out. There was a bit of a strange dream with doritos but Cayden had managed to turn it around into something somewhat normal and slept soundly the rest of the night. In the morning he helped gather up the kids and pile them into the van before Cannonball and Sunspot took them off up to Xavier’s. Cayden was rather pleased that they would be given such an opportunity and he hoped it went well for each of them. The rest of the day Cayden watched training and did a bit of his own with what he could find around the building. He kind of bounced around all over the place, creating his own little course and fun throughout the day.
By the evening he was growing a little tired and anxious from being cooped up all day but he was looking forward to a little sparring. The meal today still left Cayden with a rumbling stomach but it went unnoticed by Cayden. He was used to going a few days without a meal so the smaller one they had tonight was still a feast to him. Cayden stood beside Negasonic and watched the recon crew getting ready to leave. They all looked a little worse for wear, especially Veil and Sapphire but they all looked ready for whatever they were about to encounter.
He waved enthusiastically at the crew before echoing Negasonic’s good luck but conveniently left the losers part out. Cayden turned back to the group left behind and smiled brightly at them all.
”Shall we get started big guy?” He looked at Colossus, ready to burn off some energy.

Leighton Brooks

Location: The Mutant Underground
Skills N/A

It wasn't as if she expected to be staying at the Ritz. She knew (somewhat) what she had signed up for. However, if the sleeping arrangements, as well as the food, were like this, she could see why so many of them were cranky and rude. It didn't effect her sleep though. Colossus' training had drained her of every ounce of strength she had left and a granola bar didn't amount to much energy saving. Still, she felt like she grew a bit with her powers, and that was something.

She entered the next day with some semblance of a spring in her step, though she was still a bit sore. And the call for sparring didn't boost her too much, though she was anxious to test her powers in a combat situation, since up until now it had been controlling her powers. She looked at the others, wondering who would be willing to go against her. "I don't care really. I'm still new to this and will probably suck at it." And her worry grew. She didn't want another Target mishap.

Anastasia Reinhardt

Location: Frost International HQ
Skills N/A

Anastasia had managed to obtain some intel before she was called back. It had to be important if she was supposed to put her current mission on hold. And based on what she discussed, it was. She met the two boys (and she would call them boys) and formed quick opinions on them both. She would end up having to pull the load, as it were, she just knew it.

She eyed the two women talking on the balcony with both jealousy and sincerity. She looked forward to having a view like that of her own, but at this moment she was stuck here. "I doubt there is any room in here that isn't tapped so we may as well stay and wait for them to finish. And could you perhaps calm down with the gum?" She eyed in modest disgust as the man chewed almost endlessly. For good reason or not, it was annoying.

This was her life now was it?

James Kingston

Location: The Mutant Underground
Skills: N/A

James slept through most of the day, the repeated attempts at fixing his crush up taking more than he expected. When he did wake up, it was the afternoon and he groaned as he rolled out of bed. He still forced himself through stretching and several laps around the area just to stay active. His next goal was a phone, which he was temporarily side tracked from when food was announced and frankly he didn’t care what the fare was. Hunger is the best spice and was he ever starved His food disappeared almost the instant he got it and his hunt for a phone resumed after he helped clean up. He found one as the mission team assembled and James couldn’t help but poke at Max or Tome or whatever he went by.

“No fire this time, alright? You’ve got enough arson under your belt already.” He chuckled as he passed Tome before he left. “Break and leg and all that! But don’t really. Still a bit worn out. I recommend waiting til tomorrow!. James suggested as he headed over towards Colossus. He pulled out the piece of paper Casper provided and created a new contact, Casper <3. He typed out a message, still a little nervous, and turned his attention back to the group.

Hey, its James! Still not 100% about coffee since I slept through the entire day but at least we can chat through here in the meantime. I hate for you to think I ghosted you!

“I bet you’ll do great! It’s not so hard after the first few sessions and it’s easy to practice even without a partner.” James encouraged Leighton, only thinking about the sparring and not the power part of the issue. “I’m definitely down to spar. Been a few days since I could get work up a sweat not related to pissing off the authorities.

Requiem

Location: The Hellfire Club
Skills: N/A

Requiem sipped at the red wine he procured earlier from the club’s reserves, a younger vintage than he normally indulged in but surprisingly pleasant nonetheless. Pleasing hints of cinnamon contrasting a silky elegance proved the wine’s vintage inconsequential. Requiem hummed as the other two spoke, ignoring Jinx as usual and affirming his opinion on the newest member of their team. Confidence and resolve etched themselves into her every movement, something Requiem could appreciate since they manifested in a far more mature manner than the brat’s, and she clearly held herself to a certain set of standards. The two were like night and day, though he wasn’t sure which would cause him a greater headache. On one hand, there was the jester whose behavior was a chronic pain and caused him to play the diplomat far more than he liked. On the other hand, there was Anastasia who seemed like the type with ambition and those with ambition often caused more problems than they solved. She’d probably push to take over the investigation and Requiem had little problem letting her.

He worked better behind the scenes anyways.

“I recommend ignoring his antics. Acknowledging the behavior is an err you will ultimately regret.” He commented amusedly after another sip of wine. “As for our discussion, Ms. Reinhardt has the right of it. We must move forward with the assumption surveillance is constant here so we’d do best to catch our newest addition up to date. After our debriefing yesterday and confirming with Mr. Shaw no investigation report was made due to the primary security contact’s death, Jinx and I made our way to Frost Headquarters where Ms. Frost intercepted us. She escorted us to the holding area for the Sentinel and after a short investigation, we discovered very little. As was to be expected. Scuff marks on the floor, metal fragments not handled in the theater, security footage showing all four of the inner circle accessing the room along with the triplets with Reeva and Mystique with Magneto. Ms. Frost and Mr. Shaw indulged in carnal pleasures, Ms. Payge and the triplets access the equipment and then made a phone call, and the last pair used the medical room before leaving for the day. The Sentinel appears up until an hour long blackout and then is missing when the footage resumes. Again, as expected. Ms. Frost is apparently running her own investigation and superficially is willing to collaborate.” Requiem explained. Although they’d discovered little, they had a few avenues available including Jinx’s little love interest. And he planned to fully take advantage of that particular little instance.

“Would you care for a glass of wine while you give your opinion on the matter, Ms. Reinhardt?”

Washington D.C.: September 9th, 2020 - 7:10 PM

Shaw had most likely left the building by now, as it had been a while since he went down to the cellar and he had mentioned something about meeting an associate of his shortly. An eerie hush had fallen over the penthouse, broken up only ever so slightly by the wicked trio's conversations. The balcony doors opened seemingly of their own accord, though it was really the White Queen's telekinetic powers. "Don't worry, we didn't hear anything, dears," Emma said with a slight smirk.

Reeva glanced at the trio, her gaze remaining on them unflinchingly for a moment. Her mutation was something similar to a sonic scream - only rather than blasting people backwards, it made them incapable of moving, unable to use their powers to resist. Killing them was relatively easy after that. "I have a reservation - I'll see you all tomorrow," Reeva said, her heels clicking audibly on the floor as she walked to the elevator and vanished from sight. Emma, meanwhile, fixed herself a drink and sat down on the couch.

"Oh, don't mind me," she said simply.

Casper shook his head in protest. "I'm only bored when I'm sober!" he complained. The signal in the tunnels was horrible, so the text messages weren't delivered to his phone. He wouldn't get them until they went up to the surface, so he was unaware of the potential date and possible drug purchase. But then, like a dog sensing a squirrel nearby, Casper completely forgot that he was complaining about being bored to his brother. He had heard something coming down one of the tunnels.

"Casper, don't wander off!" Ben scolded.

"I heard something!" he insisted. He exited the main area of the Morlock society and turned around, seeing what looked like a solid wall. The illusion kept people from just stumbling upon the Morlocks. He waited for a few minutes, wondering for a moment if he had imagined the sound, when he heard a metallic thud again. Ben heard it as well and his eyes widened slightly. "What the fuck?"

"What the fuck is right!" Casper said, running towards the noise.

Meanwhile, Sunshine just couldn't find it in herself to relax. She wanted so badly to be apart of a group again, to have something like a family, to maybe even be able to go to sleep without worrying about being hurt because of who she was... But her mind was screaming at her to run, to not let Erg press that brand up against her face. She could feel the heat coming off of the metal as he brought it closer to her and all she could think about was the pain she was about to experience. "STOP!" Sunshine screamed, finding her voice.

Erg pulled the brand away. "I thought you wished to be a Morlock, little one," he said, a bit confused.

She sniffled slightly. "I-I do..."

"Then you need to take the mark - and shun all ties to the surface world," Erg reminded her sternly. His eyes flickered over towards Jack with that last part. Blink shook her head slightly. She stood by Erg's side, but she didn't agree with him on everything he did. If it was up to her, kids would be allowed to stay with the Morlocks and choose to take the brand once they were eighteen.

"I know that!" Sunshine snapped, her hands shaking a bit. "...I just need some water, okay? I'm thirsty," she then added quickly, trying to stall. She knew that the Morlocks were her best option, but the brand scared her more than a shot scared a little kid.

"Sure kid, let's go get some water," Blink said, motioning for Sunshine to follow along with her.

The Mutant Underground Washington D.C. Station...

Colossus thought for a moment, before he smiled slightly. Now, a smile ordinarily is a harmless thing, but when Piotr smiles and it's time for training? It's a sure fire sign that whatever he had in store, it's going to be brutal. A thought then occurred to him and he glanced at Negasonic. "Go fetch Feedback - she could use training," he said.

"Ugh, fine..." Negasonic muttered, searching the Underground until she found Waverly. "Hey Radiohead, Colossus wants you for training."

Once everyone was assembled, Colossus went up to the third floor with them. There was a large, open room with a few pillars in the way, but it would work for their purposes. He took a rope and used it to make a line on the northern side of the room. On the southern side, he tied a bell to one of the pillars. "On line," he ordered, wanting them to stand on the rope. "You ring bell, training is over for day," he said. That was simple enough, right? They just had to get past Colossus and ring the bell - easy...

Negasonic smirked, playing on her phone and taking a seat against the wall. She was going to enjoy watching this.

On Route to the Hellfire Club Headquarters...

Veil chuckled a bit as her friend offered to teach her how to drive. "That was one skill Xavier never taught us - well, he didn't really teach us any life skills to be honest. It was more important that we could quote Shakespeare and take a derivative." She didn't hate her time at Xavier's school, but the standards had been high. Everything was to prepare them to become world leaders, to become adored journalists and professors - to be shining examples of what mutants could be. For some, this was great. But for those who wanted to do anything less prominent? The school didn't cater to them.

"Thanks, Tome," she said with a smile, taking the scrunchie. As soon as she tried to put it around her hair however, it snapped and she sighed slightly. "My hair can't be tamed," Veil joked.

Havok raised an eyebrow at Max. "I'm spoken for," he said, looking a little bit angry as he got into the car and took the shotgun seat without even asking other people. Veil sighed slightly, looking at Tome sympathetically. "He's in a rough relationship with Magneto's daughter," she explained. Romance and all was a bit of a touchy subject for the hula hooping mutant.

"If you could just give us the address first, directions will be fine," Veil said, getting into the back of the car. Tome and Glimpse would have to ride in the back with her, which was probably going to be for the best. Veil wasn't too concerned about Glimpse leading them into a trap, as she could make their car invisible and surrounded with a force field should things go awry. "As for your questions - like my name suggests, I can make myself and other objects invisible. I can move things around with my mind and make force fields, too. Aaaand my secret weapon - my hair. It's a beast."

Callie Johnson

Location: Mutant Underground DC Station
Skills:

Callie stretched out slightly as she decided to follow Colossus over towards the third floor and looked towards him when he started to set up a rope looking over at the bell for a moment. She held out her hand slightly as sparks of electricity moved between her finger tips tilting her head to the side. "Rules on using powers?" She decided to ask, looking over at the newbies there for a moment, wondering what they all had to offer. She knew that Colossus' training sessions were always pretty rough for the most part, Negasonic went to grab Feedback she didn't know the mutant all that well either so it would be interesting to know her.

"Also the new kids should go first see what they can do first." Callie said looking between James and Leighton, she was the acting leader for now while Veil was out with the others for their little scouting mission. And she wasn't really looking forward to getting any new bruises from Colossus' training sessions either. She was still in pain from getting shot three days earlier as well having taken some of the pain killers just after dinner.

Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: Mutant Underground, Washington D.C. Station
Skills:

Waverley had never really been prone to sitting up straight. Not in private school, no matter how much her posture was critiqued by her teachers, and not at home during dinner, no matter how many times her father told her to get her elbows off the table. But as she sat in the second story of that abandoned warehouse, staring out between the boards of the boarded up window into the darkness of the night, her back was as straight as any ruler, not even touching the back of the moth-bitten couch she was sitting on.

There was something about the place that made her eager to please, even more so than she usually was. Or perhaps it’d be more accurate to say that the situation she was in made her eager to please. She felt the same way she always imagined her brother felt when their father first started taking him to work, or how her sister felt during her summer internship at that successful law firm. There was a smoldering ball of anxiety in the pit of her stomach, more vibrant than the anxiety that usually accompanied her. But there was also an electric joy coursing through her body, making her mind buzz with excitement. It was a feeling that had been constant upon her joining of the Mutant Underground a week prior, despite the fact that she hadn’t really done much of anything besides her daily training, mostly of her mind and powers.

Waverley’s head twisted away from the window when a voice called out not too far away. As soon as she heard the voice, she recognized it as that of Negasonic Teenage Warhead, her fellow teenage Mutant. One might think that, being so close in age, the two would hit it off. But honestly, Waverley was just terrified of Negasonic. She’d never actually seen Negasonic in action, but in her experience, when people gave as few shits as that girl gave, it was best not to mess with them.

”Should I bring-“ Waverley started, turning her head to her backpack sitting next to her, and placing a hand on it. But when she turned back to Negasonic, she was already walking away. Waverley quickly grabbed the backpack, but didn’t slip it onto her shoulders, instead carrying it by one of the shoulder straps. She followed Negasonic up a set of stairs, where a group of...surprisingly normal-looking people stood, waiting as Colossus finished setting up some sort of training activity. Waverley had sort of been hoping for some sort of introduction to the strangers, but instead, Colossus began to spout orders. Waverley dropped her backpack against the wall and didn’t hesitate to step onto the rope when she was told, but she did it with a look of concern on her face.

”Um...yeah, I don’t think this is really my thing Colossus,” She said, her eyes shifting between him and the small crowd of strangers standing around her. She nervously shifted from foot to foot on top of the rope, unsure of what was expected of her. “Unless you want me to throw, like, a Top 40 radio station at you or something.”

Max watched as Havok practically through a fit over the worlds smallest amount of flirting. Though I suppose that its to be expected when your relationship is the very definition of “it’s complicate.” Dating the daughter of the enemy? Yeesh, that can not be fun. Though it got him to wondering exactly who his daughter was, and where did she stand on all these matters? He got in the car, sitting behind Havok so that the mutant wouldn’t have to look at him anymore than he had to seeing as he clearly struck a nerve. Max rummaged through his bag and pulled out a protein bar, chewing on it as they drove off. He’d be lying if he said that he wasn’t a little disappointed that the tie he created Veil snapped, though it appears that that was a frequent occurrence in her life and perhaps once this was all over he would attempt to make her a Kevlar band, or something equally as sturdy to help tame that hair.

”Oh cool. Those are definitely useful powers to have, especially on a scouting mission. I wasn’t exactly sure what we would need or what we’d be doing...so I brought my camera and telescopic lense to get a closer look at the facilities if needed, as well as photograph and document it for future missions. Hope that’s ok.” He took another bite of his bar, waiting for it to pass before he spoke again. This time leaning in a bit more relaxed in his seat as he spoke to those in the general area. ”As you may have surmised from my early trick, my powers are that of Conjuration and magick. Or at least that’s how I classify them. I create fire for offensive fighting, I’m good at hand to hand and weapon fightin so long as I have my cane on me, I create the clothes that i wear everyday, and I can attempt to create more things but it is hit or miss as I’m still new to all my powers. Luckily these garments I’m wearing were created with Kevlar woven into the fabric so that i could take a bullet if need be...though i really hope that it doesn’t come to that, especially with your shielding. Won’t lie, when i heard the name Veil i was expecting necromatic powers, or control of the souls, something to do with the veil between life and death. Glimpse, are you a psychic of sorts?”

Jinx sat there quietly, twiddling his thumbs as Requiem spoke. The gum sat in his mouth, lifeless, motionless, as he didn’t want to risk Anastasia using her powers to change his moral code to hate gum or something. Now that would be a travesty in and of itself. He listened to the man recount what they knew, paying close attention to those who entered and exited the room. Mystique and Magneto came in together, that was apparent due to the shards that were left behind. Chances that it was them were a bit more slim seeing as how if they really wanted to do it she would’ve turned into another person to hide her identity. Frost and Shaw both entered and did uh...the dirty, which could be a red herring to have the onlookers look away and write them off the list. This could be a two person job with both of them at the helm...but then why bother hiring us two...or three now. Finally there were the creepy trio and little miss Reeva Skeeva. They could have easily done it. Convinvced the guards with the charmed ones to delete the footage when it was all done and then wipe their minds. Reeva just there to ensure that no one was the wiser and that her pets were falling in line. A loud pop broke Jinx out of his thought and he realized that he had subconsciously blown a bubble, immediately looking over to Anastasia with worry ”Sorry, sorry, was deep in thought and didn’t even realise it.”

Reeva and Emma had just entered the room, and what Frost said really touched a nerve, clearly they overheard everything including their thoughts. He rolled his eyes as he faced away from them and began to chew again. Waiting for Reeva to leave the room and immediately placing his hands on him hips and saying in a mocking tone ”I hAvE mY rEseRvAtIoNs. Meh meh meh meh meh.” Jinx sat back into the couch, blowing a puff of air at his fringe so that it’d move away from his face, crossing his arms as he watched Emma sit onto the couch. Oh great. He got that they were gonna work together and share information, but did that really mean that she had to stick around during every little thing? Surely there was something better for her to do. He looked at the telepath and just exhaled in frustration, his lips flapping making that. Pbbbbt sound. ”So what have you learned Frost? You know everything we know seeing as you were there.”

"I know that all things considering this is a bit ironic coming from me, but calm down a little bit Havok, I still don't trust them either, I still don't like them at all, but we are still going to be stuck in a car with them for a little bit..." Sapphire whispered to him when he got into the passenger's seat. She wasn't any happier about this arrangement then he was, and Tome who didn't know them at all was making comments about things he probably shouldn't be. This was definitely going to be a long day no matter what they did.

As Tome questioned what their abilities were, she was mainly glad he seemed to be ignoring her and not questioning her abilities, instead choosing to ask Glimpse and Veil. Since that meant that at the moment for the most part she could just ignore his existence for the time being and just focus on driving the vehicle. Though him calling his powers of sorts "tricks" made her want to laugh, since from the sound of it that seemed to be all he really could do with his powers at the moment, do tricks. He probably should have stayed behind with Colossus and the rest.

Jack Theriot

Location: Morlock Tunnels

Jack still wasn't too thrilled by everything that was going on, and he looked between Erg, Blink and Sunshine, and sure, he knew that he shouldn't say anything to basically upset Erg or show that he didn't agree with him all of the time, but he thought he should say something to Sunshine. "...Remember Rookie, this whole thing is your choice... You don't have to do this if you don't want to," he said, giving her a slight smile, before he looked around a little bit and noticed that Casper had wandered off again. "Damn it Casper... I'll be back in a few minutes," he said, before he took off after Casper.

When he saw Casper, he almost froze right in his tracks, seeing the giant sentinel that was right in front of them. He lucked out and the thing didn't immediately see him. He hurried over to his brother, "Casper, we need to get out of here now!" he said to him, before he went to try and pull him away. That's when the Sentinel decided to fire a shot at them, noticing them there. Casper was lucky, it missed hitting him, however, a ruby red energy blast slammed into Jack. It hit him in the stomach and sent him stumbling backwards, he was badly burned but in a lot of pain from the Sentinel's attack.

"Casper, get out of here," Jack said, he didn't exactly have the strength to drag his brother back now.

Leighton Brooks

Location: The Mutant Underground
Skills Ice Manipulation

Leighton still wasn't sure, especially given her track record of trying to actively use her powers, but she would make an attempt, at least. She owed that much. Paired against Colossus though, the man was intimidating to look at. Still, she had to try. She figured a big man like him was not as graceful on his feet, so mustering up her powers, she spread her hands to the floor, freezing it beneath him. However, much to her dismay, he stood firm.

"Well frick..." she said to herself. Ok, attempt two. She gave a running start, hitting the ice and sliding on her knees. She managed to slide through the towering man's legs, but before she could stand to run to the bell, she felt herself get grabbed and slid right back to where she started. "Hey, not fair! How the hell can you stand on ice!" She stood up and brushed herself off, seeing if James could manage something. Otherwise, she did have a back-up plan.

Anastasia Reinhardt

Ana fought off the urge to slap the gum out of the boy's mouth because thankfully he was saved when both women entered. Reeva left for some business or other while Emma stayed behind. She eyed the woman, appreciating her subtle work at mind games with them. "No, no wine for me and not just because I am under the legal drinking age. Trivial rule to begin with anyway. And mocking someone within the confines of her own office seems a trite bit childish, don't you think? That woman could hurt you in ways you could not possibly imagine, so maybe watch what you say."

She wasn't scared of her, but she had known enough. "It's not a question of whether or not you heard us or intend to listen to our conversations, which I already know you are privy to. If we are to investigate this, we need more information and it needs to come from sources these two had otherwise not had access to. You can't expect us to blindly go about this. I do not know how these two conducted themselves before I arrived, but I promise to remain upstanding in these efforts. That is, unless you have something to hide?"

James Kingston

Location: The Mutant Underground, Washington D.C. Station
Skills: Strategy

James nodded as he acknowledged Collusus’s instructions, eyeing the playing field. What could they do against an experienced opponent? He’d call this sparring so James would try to think of it like any other match and that meant changing the rules of the encounter. So what could they do? Ringing the bell was the objective. Changing that would require either shifting the man’s priorities or knocking him out, neither of which seemed the easiest way of handling that. No, they had the numbers which meant that was the easiest way to change the tide. James eyes narrowed as Leighton tried a trick. Well, that was an idea.

“We need to change the flow of this. We have the numbers so let’s use that to our advantage. If some of us dive bomb past him on her ice and the others take long edges of the room around, maybe our momentum will knock him to the ground and those who get past can help those who didn’t?” James suggested quietly to the group. This wasn’t meant for anyone to get significantly hurt if it really was just sparring so he imagined the instructor would take care not to just topple on top of people, giving them a spare moment to react.

Requiem

“Probably wise. Unfortunately, it is a vice I can’t seem to relinquish.” Requiem chuckled, refilling his own glass and sipping at it as he did. “And yourself, Ms. Frost would you care for a glass? A pleasant drink after a stressful day always puts me in a better mood.” He smiled politely, ignoring Jinx’s disrespect and the not so subtle jab from Anastasia. If this was how this little group would act, he was going to have a stress headache everyday when he woke up. He would rather not deal with two infants unable to put aside their differences and pride to work together but it seemed the fates were cruel these days. They had been for a long time.

“As I said the other day, we are more than pleased to work in tandem with you Ms. Frost. I wouldn’t dare to endanger such an arraignment by denying you access to our conversation. I was only catching Ms. Reinhardt up on what information we gleaned from yesterday’s tour of your facilities. And discovering that she doesn’t care to drink, a fact I’ll keep in mind so as not to offend her in the future.” He nodded politely at Anastasia before returning his attention to Emma. “We were just about to hear her thoughts on the matter. Since you were present for our findings yesterday, perhaps you’d care to share your insight as well. We’re all after the same culprit after all.”

Washington D.C.: September 9th, 2020 - 7:20 PM

The Penthouse - Hellfire Club Headquarters...

Emma Frost stared at Jinx for a moment, a bit surprised at his outburst over Reeva simply leaving for a dinner reservation. "Jinx, sweetheart, that is not a good look on you," she said constructively. Part of her duties as Hellfire Club leadership meant that she needed to mentor and teach. While she lacked competent mentors, that was not the case for these individuals here - they had her. Who else better to teach them? It was a subtler approach than Anastasia's direct scolding but in Emma's experience, the delicate touch often proved far more effective.

At Requiem's offer of a drink, Emma raised her own glass. She was already set. "I have my suspicions as to who would have done this, but nothing substantive. When you rise to a prominent position as us in the Inner Circle have, you acquire... history with various players. I do not wish to bias your investigation, and as for resources, please do let me know how I can be of assistance." She took a calculated sip from her drink, before the glass remained suspended in front of her. "I know as much as you three do on this matter - but since Sebastian is unavailable this evening, I do not mind. It has been a while since I got to expose a traitor in our midst."

Outside the Hellfire Club Headquarters...

"Huh, haven't heard that before. Unfortunately Invisible Woman was already taken - but I like Veil. It's similar to my birth name," Veil explained. She rarely went by Valery these days, finding that the name she chose for herself had more meaning than the one her parents gave to her. She liked that it described her powers, while allowing her to retain something of her childhood in Canada - it merged her two worlds, mutant and human.

"I thought you were on my side?" Havok muttered, irritated with Sapphire. He didn't like these new people at all. They had a princess and a jester with them - and just the day before, Spark Plug had nearly died on a mission. Two days ago, Veil and Sapphire were captured. He was a perfectionist at heart, though most didn't realize it, and Glimpse and Tome were unknown variables that he couldn't control. "I can blast plasma," he then told Tome, a bit reluctantly.

It wasn't long until they arrived at the Shaw Industries building - which just so happened to double as the Headquarters for the Hellfire Club. The top dozen floors were private, listed on the company directory as being Dr. Shaw's residence.

"Okay guys, I'm cloaking us now - you'll still be able to see each other, but well... You'll see," Veil said, before making their little group invisible except for Glimpse. Everyone would still be able to see each other, but they looked more like faint ghosts, just hardly in focus. At least it would keep any of Shaw's people from seeing them, so it would be worth it. Glimpse wouldn't be able to see them, though. "Lead on," Veil told the rich mutant.

They could either go in through the main entryway, requiring them to pass a biometric scan to enter the elevator and take it up to the penthouse - or they could go around the back to the garage and use Shaw's private elevator, though it would require a passcode to be inputted and a fingerprint scan taken.

The Morlock Tunnels...

The sentinel was more advanced than the ones that O.M.E.N. had used to attack Xavier's Institute in June. Made out of secondary adamantium, also called adamantium steel, this weapon of death is more durable than the ones who came before it. It is better able to adapt to various mutant powers, analyzing attack patterns on the fly and identifying humans, mutants, and inhumans within seconds. Its power source allows the sentinel to operate for twenty four hours before needing to be recharged - and if that was not enough to make this mutant killing machine fearsome, perhaps the fact that the sentinel was not alone would be enough.

"Ouch, that's gotta hurt like a bitch," Ward commented, stepping forward with a gas mask on. There were nine other Purifiers with him, standing behind the Sentinel, all wearing gas masks and clutching what looked like heavily modified rifles. It would be plainly obvious to the brothers that these were military grade weapons - how had they gotten them? The Purifiers were essentially a largely disorganized hate group... so how did they get a sentinel and those guns?

"J-J-Jackie, your boyfriend sucks!" Casper complained. His voice was trembling and he felt like the walls were closing in all around them. Sure, he had run into the tunnels without thinking much about it, but the Purifiers and the sentinel were cutting off the primary exit to the surface. He could have sworn the air was growing thinner and he moved backwards slightly, taking greedy breaths in an attempt to get as much into his lungs as possible.

"...I totally forgot you were claustrophobic," Ben commented. "Look, you guys can't lead them back to the Morlock tunnels - it'll be a massacre! You need to either stop them here or find a way to get rid of them."

Casper nodded slightly, his hands shaking and his eyes were almost comically wide. "Th-the only other exit is through..." he didn't finish the sentence. Ben realized what he meant - in order to lose the Purifiers, they had to run through the Morlocks main hideout. And with the sentinel, they didn't even really have the time to sit here and talk. The sentinel fired off another energy blast, hitting Casper in the chest and it sent him flying back behind his brother, hitting up against the wall hard. All he knew was that his head felt very warm and sticky and the world was spinning all around him.

The sentinel then shot Jack again, hitting him in the shoulder. He wasn't lucky - this time, it was a third degree burn. These ones are the most painful and take the longest to heal, penetrating the layers of the skin and doing severe damage. "Jackie..." Casper mumbled, losing consciousness rapidly.

"I gotta tell ya - Schmidt really delivered!" Ward boasted, his men chuckling in agreement. "Now let's go find the nest and get rid of these monsters before they can hurt anyone else."

The Morlock Hideout...

Not too far away from the brothers, the various Morlocks were going about their business. Sunshine was uncharacteristically quiet, sipping water and contemplating what Jack had told her. She didn't know if she was ready to take a brand - sure, she knew logically that it was a good choice, but the thought of searing an M into her flesh? She just anticipated the pain and it was clouding her judgment. Blink at the very least was understanding, despite not having to go through that process herself, as she had a visible mutation.

"Purifiers! They're in the tunnels - with a sentinel!!!!" Grimlock screamed into everyone's mind.

Erg instantly grabbed his gun, holding the red hot poker in his other hand. While he had intended to brand Sunshine's face with it, he could double up and use it as a weapon against any Purifiers that managed to get their way. "Everyone, stay calm. We have prepared for this," Erg reminded them. "Blink, evacuate the children, sick, and elderly. Everyone who can, prepare for a fight."

"There's ten of them," Grimlock added, as Blink opened up a portal and a bunch of the Morlocks started to panic, rushing towards it. The Mutant Massacre that happened in New York at the hands of Sinister's agents was fresh in their memory. One of the Morlocks, Membraine, hurried over to Erg while Grimlock was evacuated with the rest of the children.

"Kid, get through the portal!" Blink ordered Sunshine. People were still trying to get through as best as they could. Most Morlocks didn't have offensive powers. If the Purifiers got in here, they'd be sitting ducks.

Sunshine shook her head. "I want this to be my home... I'm not gonna let some assholes take it away from me - from us, I mean," she said, conjuring up two little green balls of disease in her hands. She ran over to Erg and the other mutants who had decided to fight, her heart beating nervously. "What's the plan? You do have a plan, right?" Sunshine asked, doing her best to not accidentally make one of the Morlocks sick.

There was a fiery feeling in her stomach. Just as she had found someplace safe, the Purifiers were going to take it away from her - again. She wasn't going to let them do that, however. She didn't care what she had to do. She didn't care if she had to kill them. It was for a just cause - defending her fellow Mutant brothers and sisters. Of course, there was a certain amount of hatred motivating her actions. They had taken so much from her, it would be nice to make them bleed and hurt for it.

"We go into the tunnels. Keep them from finding the entrance at all costs," Erg instructed, before leading his strike force out.

"No killing," Colossus responded to Spark Plug, as she asked what the rules were on using their powers. "Rule number one of being X-Men, er, hero." His movements were careful and constrained, allowing him to keep his balance despite the ice that Leighton had created on the ground. Negasonic wasn't being very helpful, still just leaning up against one of the walls and texting. At least she wasn't looking up and making snarky comments, but she wasn't offering any advice.

Since this was a training exercise, Colossus was not lunging at them to attack them. Unfortunately, only Leighton had actually made an attempt against him this time. "On line," he repeated, more or less indicating that that attempt was over and it was time for them to try again. He was in his steel form and he stomped, breaking the ice that was immediately beneath him. There was still plenty on the ground which could be used to their advantage.

"If you guys don't start trying, he might shoot you in the back with an arrow," Negasonic quipped, noticing that a few of them seemed to have doubts. Doubts like that would get them killed out in the field. And even if they weren't all suited for combat from their powers, there was no reason they shouldn't be able to fight. If Hawkeye could defend New York from Loki and an alien invasion with a bow and arrow, then these mutants should be able to ring a bell.

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: Mutant Underground ---> Shaw Industries -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Up front she was not put, which was probably best all things considered. Instead, Luna sat in the back with the other newcomer Tome, who seemed to have a proclivity for speech. At least it passed the time and Luna was learning something of the others she was pressed upon. In intervals to Tome’s speech, Luna relayed directions through Veil who told Sapphire where to go. Luna had managed to wiggle herself into the corner of her spot, facing everyone in the vehicle so she could see them all easily and yet she looked out the window and sat in silence as they drove. Her interest peaked when Veil explained just who Havok was dating. She looked up at the front then back at Veil as Max went on talking again. Wanda, as far as Luna’s knowledge went was spoken for by someone else so that left Polaris. Interesting and he had the nerve to not trust her when she explained her relation to Shaw.
Tome turned his attention onto Luna now, being able to connect her name to her power fairly easily. She smirked and glanced at the rear view mirror for a moment before she looked at Tome. ”Of sorts. Enhanced speed as well, although nothing close to Quicksilver.” Another of Magneto’s famous brood.
They arrived at Shaw Industries and Luna stared up at the vast building. She had been here a couple of times before but it only seemed bigger. They all piled out and one by one the people who Luna had traveled here with disappeared. She was aware of their presence, only because holes were being burnt into her back but still she knew they were there. On the drive over Luna had been tunneling into herself. She would have to be daft to say she wasn’t the least bit nervous.
”Stay close,” she instructed before she started walking. She didn’t head into the main entrance though. She knew better than that and besides, she was family so she did have some privileges and Sebastian knew she wished to speak with him so around back Luna went to the garage which held Sebastian’s private elevator and less complicated security procedures.

Cayden Proudstar - Moonwalker

Location: Mutant Underground Third Floor E6 -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Cayden watched intently as Colossus moved about the spacious room, setting up the training game that they would all be partaking in. He looked over as Negasonic came back with a girl who had been there a bit longer than he had. He smiled warmly at her before looking back at Colossus’s set-up. So the object of the session was to ring the bell. Yes that did seem easy enough but it never truly was. Leighton went first and Cayden silently cheered her on. She took the direct approach after her initial icing which Cayden already had an idea of it not working out. Dreamwalking wouldn’t be of much use here since Colossus wasn’t asleep and Cayden wasn’t even sure he could enter his head while Colossus was all tinned up. So strength would be his best asset.
He was busy looking up at the ceiling, wondering if he could get over that way when James or rather, Caduceus suggested a team approach. That could work. ”I could attempt to strong arm him, act as a bit of a distraction,” Cayden offered. He flexed his right bicep a little and it shifted under the effort. Sure it didn’t look like much muscle but never underestimate a mutant. You never knew what ability they had and that was Cayden’s favourite past time: people underestimating him.

Waverley Watts - Feedback

Location: Mutant Underground, Washington D.C. Station (G6)
Skills: Radio Wave Manipulation, Bribery, Perception

Waverley let out a sigh when Colossus seemed to brush off her hesitation, taking it as a sign that there wasn’t anyway she was getting out of this training exercise. Her shoulders dropped, and her face turned from one of concern to one of mostly concern with a hint of analysis. Without really any offensive experience or power capabilities, fighting harder was out of the question. So maybe she could fight smarter.

She turned her head to her right to see what the others were doing. Most of them seemed to be doing what she was doing: trying to figure out a way passed the giant metal man in front of them. But among the group, one stepped forward over the rope: a stylishly dressed, raven-haired young woman in what could only be described as some sort of flannel hoody dress. Her steps were accompanied by the sound of heels clicking upon the ground, not at all faltering or wavering. Waverley’s gaze followed her forward, intently watching her as she stopped and raised her hands. When the floor began to freeze over, Waverley’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets, and a wide goofy grin took residence on her face. She was sure the woman would get to the bell, though that certainty dropped slightly when Colossus didn’t slip on the ice. When the woman attempted to slide between Colossus’ legs, but was instead tossed back to the edge of her ice, Waverley’s grin fell into a still somewhat impressed half smile.

“For what it’s worth, you looked really cool!” She called out to the woman with her hand cupped next to her mouth, the pun not at all intended. Almost immediately after her comment, she heard a voice begin to speak a few yards away. She turned to the voice, to see it was coming from what she assumed some would consider an attractive young man on the far side of the rope. His voice was lowered, but not so much so that she couldn’t hear him describe his plan. Waverley’s brow furrowed, and she shook her head.

“Haven’t you seen Kill Bill? Or any martial arts movie? It doesn’t matter if we have the numbers. He’s Uma Thurman, we’re the nameless grunts,” she whispered, loud enough for the small group behind the rope to hear. Her eyes flicked between the man who spoke, the long-haired guy next to him, and the woman closest to Waverley, who kind of looked like Veronica Mars raided Joan Jett’s closet. Her eyes ended, though, on Negasonic, leaning against the wall. “Hold on...I might have a better idea...” she said, her fingers rising up to her temples. It didn’t actually help her powers to do that, but it always made her feel cool. Her eyes narrowed, focusing on some fixed point across the room. She looked completely focused, preparing for something big.

‘Can you pwease ring the bell? I’ll give you $5 UwU,’ she sent out Negasonic’s phone. She shot a glance at the girl to see her reaction, and let out a disappointed sigh when the girl shook her head. She turned back to to the man with the plan and shrugged.

“Alright, I’m in for Operation Cannon Fodder, but I’m not attacking him. While you guys are going at him, I’ll see if I can get behind him and ring the bell,” Waverley said quietly, her eyes shooting from the pillar next to them to the pillar across from them, and finally to the pillar behind Colossus. If he was distracted, she might be able to run from one pillar to the next, hopefully without getting noticed.

Max sat there and chuckled to himself for a minute before saying ”So if you’re psychic and have super speed does that make you...a fast thinker?” He chuckled once more at his horrible joke as the stepped out of the car and watched as Veil placed an invisible aura around them all, turning each person into a ghostly silhouette. He had to admit, her powers were pretty cool. He thought for a moment about his current team and composition, a speedster psychic, an invisible force manipulator, a guy with lasers and...it was then Max realized that the driver hadn’t spoken once during the ride, she also neglected to share her powers. How could anyone work as a team if there was so much animosity between them? He understood that he was knew and trust should be earned, but there’s a bare minimun one should do while out in the field, or so he thought.

Max pulled out his leather book and golden pen, writing down
I take it your powers don’t block out sound so figured I’d have this handy. What exactly are we looking to gain here? And should we be expecting a fight? If so what’s your protocol on such things? Deadly force? Knock out? Run?

He walked over towards Veil, tapping her lightly on the should before showing her what he had written down. He watched at they started to make their way to what appeared to be another entrance, far from the front. His nerves started to settle in as he realized that others lives were in his hands once more, and that once screw up could cost them their life. Max started to worry and wonder why he took up the mission, sure he wanted to help but he was still wet behind his ears and may end up causing more harm than good.

”Then I guess we’ll have to keep on digging. However, now that you mention things that we may need...I need a picture of the man who was found dead, the one that was in charge of security for the missing item. What’s more I need his name and as much information as you can give me about him and i do need it rather soon if you don’t mind.” Jinx sat there on the couch, looking like he was trying a bit too hard to think, his tongue was out as he tapped his chin. ”It very well may be nothing, but I personally believe that his death can tell me something, if you’ve the body I’d love to see it too. I’m no dead guy expert but i can take a look at the corpse and see if he was stabbed or something, any little clue that could help us out right now would be grand.” Jinx stood up and started walking around the room, keeping his eyes on the lot of them while he did so.

He pulled his phone out and looked at the time, checking to see if he had any missed messages. Nothing. Damn it, where was that druggie when you wanted him. If it wasn’t for his usual reliable-ness and good looks, Jinx would’ve cut him off long ago. Well, its not like this is the first time he’s taken his time to get a response back from the guy. Jinx slung his phone back into his pocket and made his way back towards the back of the couch, leaning backwards on it until he fell over and lay upside once more on the cushions. ”We just gotta look at all the angles...there has to be something we’re missing right? Where’s Sage, I don’t really know how all her computer crap works but cant she like, mind hack into the video footage and see what’s missing or something? Aaaagh all this thinking is making my head hurt...”

Callie Johnson

Location: Mutant Underground DC Station (6,F)
Skills: Electricity Manipulation

As Callie watched Leighton go for it first, and watched her creating some ice on the floor and quickly tried to slide across the floor to get to the bell. Only to be stopped by Colossus, looking over her shoulder as Negasonic was just on her phone texting away and rolled her eyes slightly towards her. She really should be training as well, but she turned her attention towards Colossus again as she started to get a little bit of an idea. She figured that there wasn't any rule against using powers, as she eyed Colossus and then the bell that was right behind him as well.

Callie held out her hand looking over towards James mentioning a plan as well, she figured that attacking from range would work as well, as she had electricity moving between her fingers again. And tried to aim her hand directly at Colossus, and the bell as well only for the small bolt of electricity to go and aim at Cayden again and shocking him. Looking horrified and also feeling dumb as her power pretty much backfired on her and went over towards him. "Are you okay?" Callie asked as she knelt down towards him and offered a hand to help him back up.

"I am on your side Havok, honestly I do not trust either one of them, but that just goes to show we've got to watch our backs, but honestly it sounds like there is an actual chance that they are sticking around because Veil seems to trust them for who knows what reason. We might be stuck with them, but that doesn't mean we have to like them!" she said instantly in response to Havok, looking over at him again as they pulled up to the Hellfire Club HQ. She did not like this entire situation at all, but it would seem like they were stuck with it at the moment.

Sapphire nodded her head at her friend when she got out of the car, she was used to all of this, used to Veil just making them invisible for a stealth job. However, she hated the fact that she wanted Glimpse to be the one leading them inside, figuring that if the woman was going to betray them (something she was almost certain was going to happen) now would be the time. Especially since she was leading them around back to a different entrance, how could they know she wouldn't do something to turn them all in to Shaw?

Jack Theriot

Location: Morlock Tunnels (F1 -> F2)
Skills: Hand to Hand Combat, Endurance

Jack stumbled backwards slightly from the pain caused by the Sentinel's latest shot that had slammed into him. He wasn't entirely sure just how much longer he'd still be standing, but he did know one thing, and that was that Casper was bleeding out at the moment! Glancing over and hearing Ward's words, and knowing that Sentinels were not things he could fight against very easily, he sent his fist flying at Ward, hitting him in the jaw, bruising him, before he turned around and raced over to where Casper was. As he took off towards him (well, more of limping somewhat really) a gunshot rang off, and it hit him in the face. The teeth more specifically, and he ended up spitting a tooth out of his mouth, before the bullet sort of bounces off because of his elasticity.

"Hey there Casper, I need you to stay conscious alright?" Jack said instantly to his brother, before he started glancing around to see if there was anything that he could use to stop the bleeding. He was currently positioning himself so that the Purifiers hopefully wouldn't be able to hit Casper to easily with any sort of bullets, but he wasn't having much luck finding anything to use to help Casper. Without having any better ideas, he pulled off the shirt he was wearing in an attempt to stop the bleeding, but he wasn't having too much luck in doing so.

James laughed at the movie reference. True, maybe Colossus was but this only ended if the bell rang so he could be a nuclear bomb for all that mattered. James was going to try and manipulate every advantage they had, not that it was much. The man had more experience, more determination, and frankly the muscle, or metal in this case, to tell them to fuck off. Though as Ms. Sparky Sparky Boom woman over here sprayed sparks everywhere, James got an interesting idea.

“Alright, slight change of plans. Leighton and uh, Sparky―I’m so sorry I don’t know your name but we can do introductions later?―you two go around opposite sides. Feedback will follow one of you. Feedback if you can throw the Top 40 at him, see if you can blast the most physically painful, harsh sound you can imagine right at him. See if we can keep him a bit distracted. After that, this guy and I―again, I am an awful person for not knowing your names―are going to charge down the middle to keep his attention and see if we can duck around him.” James whispered to the group, feeling awful that he was just coming up with names but right now, he was focused on winning this. Names would come later and probably more apologies. “While we’re going in, Leigton and Sparky should keep an eye on what he’s doing. If he tries to move or grab someone, light him up with lightning and ice. I’d say aim for the face but I don’t know if his eyes are invulnerable right now? Maybe the neck so he has to protect himself. Worse comes to worst, I’ll patch him back up but working together is the only way we’re making it to that bell.

Requiem

“Then sit down before you work yourself up any further.” Requiem suggested as Jinx paced. The boy would just work himself up and then start throwing jinxes every direction. They didn’t need the pair of woman killing the boy before Requiem was through using him. He sipped at his wine more as he considered how they wanted to handle this any further. Anastasia immediately proved herself less than helpful, intent on relying on a skewed source rather than discover her own. However, Jinx made a good point about the death . A coroner’s report would be available somewhere and Requiem already had plans on making a stop at the precinct’s office. Two birds with one stone.

“I fear the wide variety of tools at our suspect’s disposal may have made the death an inconsequential factor but covering every base is an excellent start. Good idea Jinx.” While correcting any behavior, a periodic piece of praise can go a long way. Requiem didn’t think it would turn up anything however. Given the people involved, the man could have simply been told to drown himself or drink a gallon of bleach and no one would be the wiser. The possibilities were endless really; creativity and cruelty often went hand in hand in this world after all. And that the suspects were in a position to alter the information they were looking for made everything just a touch more difficult. “I always find the word traitor amusing. It is entirely subjective. More often that not, a situation demands the traitor make a choice, adhere to the constraints of its organization or stay true to the ideals of the movement that the organization has ultimately abandoned in search for material power. So no matter the choice, the person is a traitor.”
