Luna managed to stumble through the portal to the Underground and dropped to her knees where she started to dry heave. She felt like a bloody cat about to cough up a hairball. Unfortunately, there was nothing left in her system so it was just a bunch of dry heaving until her body gave up and she sank to the floor exhausted. At least when she normally threw up there was something to show for it. This dry heaving was a hundred percent worse. From her vantage point on the cold floor, Luna saw James, Casper and Sunshine with Magik come through the portal. The others it would seem, wouldn’t get the chance. With bloodshot eyes, Luna watched Sunshine cry that Max had killed Magik in her fit of anger and pain. Colossus jumped to and charged at Max. With her next blink, Luna watched the portal close. ”That.... can’t.... be good,” she said breathlessly, before heaving herself up onto her side. It was a strange position but she wasn’t dizzy this way. Maybe it was because she was looking at the world the way her dizziness was trying to make her see the world.
Max was expecting some kind of negative response towards him opening the portal. Ready to hear the team ask him why he hadnt tried this sooner, gotten them out quicker, as if using his powers were any kind of simple. He braced himself to hear the backlash but it hadnt come. Everyone was too tired and too sick it appeared. James, Casper, and Glimpse making it through the portal. What he hadn't considered was Sunshine telling him he should've died in place of Magik. His face was now downcast and he became more solidified in wanting to bargain with the Demon Casper kept muttering about. Perhaps his transition into the Mutant Underground would be easier if he was able to save Magik and please Sunshine. That all went out the window as soon as he heard her blame him for her death. Telling Colossus that he was the cause for her murder. He expected vitriol from her, but never to this level.
Before he could even speak, his eyes snapped forward as he watched Colossus charge at him and knock him back and to the ground. His world turned upside down as his mind began to spin and he became extremely dizzy. His concentration was lost and the portal closed. Max blinked once, twice, as he saw that Callie and Jack were still on this side of the portal, trapped with sirens closing in on them and their sounds becoming extremely near. Max gasped for air to fill his lungs before immediately flipping over and vomiting on the ground beneath him. All he was able to hear was the sounds of his empty stomach spilling bile and then Callie and Jack coming to his defense. If he was being honest, he didn't expect that. He expected more physical approaches, or even allowing Colossus to kill him so that he wouldnt be their problem anymore. No one would know they stood back and did nothing. Max gathered his strength and pushed himself off the ground, now on his knees as he quickly conjured up another portal.
It was larger this time, now horizontal as it encompassed Jack, Max, Callie, and Colossus. Taking them all to the old mutant underground. He gasped once more, taking sharp breaths as he tried to get his lungs to feel full but the shortness was taking over. "I. Didn’t. Kill. Her." He spoke gasping between words. Max turned onto his back, laying down as his head spun more and more. His concentration broken from the portal as it closed. He wasnt sure if he could get them back to the new underground. But at the very least they were out of public eye and away from the cops.

Ok. Too much was happening too fast. How his sister didn't have any greys was beyond him. Echo watched at Polaris went haywire and focused only on Sapphire. Tossing a car her way only to have Waverly knock it out with a sonic wave. That was so fetch. He gave her the smile a proud father would have before skating past her. "See, I knew you could do it kid! Now then we need to wrap this up." He spun in place and faced Havok, having heard Veil yelling at him earlier and seeing his constant dilemma made this a much tougher situation than it needed to be. "Sorry blondie but we dont have time for this, Supergirl feel free to save her if you like but I'm done 0layong games." Echo turned to face Polaris and hit a high note, a blast of light forming just outside his mouth and careening straight for the mistress of magnetism. With one hit she was knocked out, giving them time to try and escape.
Echo skated away from the party towards the car, trying to start it up when he noticed it wasn't turning over. "Damn it!" He made his way back to the group, seeing the Sentinel was no longer dancing and their time kept getting shorter and shorter. Echo looked straight at Andy as he yelled "Hey sparky! Think you can use your powers to jump-start a car? There's something wrong with it." Echo shot a laser towards the newly arrived robot of doom. Seeing his laser take no effect as it appeared to have a sheild protecting it from his lasers. "Uh...I can't touch it. But I can provide some support. He looked at Waverly, unsure if she was still shaken up but hoping that her newest feat allowed her to gain some confidence in herself. Echo skated to her side and began to sing.
"🎵This is your fight song Take back your life song Prove you're alright song Your power's turned on Starting right now you'll be strong I'll play your fight song And you don't really care if nobody else believes 'Cause you've still got a lot of fight left in you🎵"

James had no words. He stared for a long time at the now missing portal. His future plans all included that being the end of that ordeal and getting people cleaned up, back into bed, and medicated as quickly as possible. This he had not expected and everything just went quiet in his head as he processed Sunshine’s newest bout of stupidity and selfishness. Her outlet for her grief included manipulating an emotionally compromised man into killing off some she disliked at the expense of people she didn’t hate, arguably even tolerated in Jack’s case. He couldn’t look away from where the others were getting into God knows what, how their illness was changing without someone there to help, how a grief stricken Colossus probably snapped Max in half by now, and who knows if the police were already there.
Now that he started thinking about it, the blue screen in his head finished rebooting and the only thing left was anger. A small part of him was proud―twisting your friends against your enemies? What a power move!―but it was easily overwhelmed by the betrayal. Sunshine had it hard, he knew, but what excused this? What excused petty revenge, excused being responsible for the likely death or capture of their allies, excused any of this? That was their way to safety and her inability to think of anyone but herself just… James had no idea how to even respond to this. He could feel the fury trembling in his hands as he supported Casper who he realized was talking about horns or something. His boyfriend and Luna still needed taking care of and Sunshine would probably sequester herself away with Magik’s corpse or something. So, he made an executive decision about Sunshine.
Do nothing.
“Everything is going to be fine. They’re competitant. They’ll get through to him and explain to him that she succumbed to M-Pox.” James assured Luna, even if he didn’t believe they’d be okay. “I don’t know what you saw babes and we can talk about it in a little bit but right now, we need to get you cleaned up and in bed with some medicine, okay? Some rest after all that will do everyone good. Negasonic, I know you’ve probably got other stuff going on but would you mind helping Luna upstairs real quick? At least so she can get cleaned up and then I can get her some medicine too.” At least one thing went relatively right. He sighed at that and started heading upstairs to get Casper and himself cleaned off. He was sick of smelling vomit on everyone.

The Ruins of the Old Mutant Underground DC HQ...
Colossus blinked back tears, turning from metal to flesh as he collapsed on the ground. He punched the dirt that he had walked over easily a thousand times, back when these ruins had been his home. He had spent so much time searching for his sister, praying that she was alive - and when he found her, it had been nothing short of a miracle. He had been reunited with Illyana for a little under half a year. And now she was gone again. Her eyes were dull. Her muscles were stiff. "I... I am sorry, Maximilian," Colossus apologized. His heart was weary, grieving for his sister, and he was full of disappointment with Sunshine. "...Jack. Have word with your daughter." He needed space and time to grieve. But someone needed to punish Sunshine for what she had done, to teach her that it wasn't okay to mess with other's emotions.

"Hey, lighten up, Sapphire! You're no fairy princess yourself!" Havok complained. He was more than a little bit hurt to hear Sapphire's low opinion of him. He thought the two of them had really become good friends, bonding over their hatred of new people joining the Mutant Underground. He winced as Sapphire impaled Polaris with an ice knife, his mind flashing back to how Sapphire had killed Polaris in the House of M reality.
A few feet away from Havok, the ejected Sentinel pilot hit the pavement hard with a sickening crunch. Blood was splattered all over Alex Summers, making his hair a lovely shade of strawberry blonde. The pilot's ripped parachute lamely covered the body, looking more like an add for OSHA than something that would happen in real life. "Ugh, seriously? There's blood in my mouth...and... hair?!" He picked off bits of hair from his tongue. The strands were dark brown, ruining any possibility that they could have just been Havok's hair. Veil's flamboyant twin brother knocked Polaris out and Havok ran on over to his girlfriend, scooping her up and carrying her bridal style.
"It's a sentinel, they're not going to be something we can take down with anything electromagnetic, they made these things to fight mutants," Veil explained. "Well, one mutant in particular - Magneto." She didn't say anything about Havok grabbing Polaris, as she expected that. Whether or not they could bring Polaris back to the Underground was a different conversation. Maybe she was being manipulated, although it couldn't have been telepathic - Polaris wore a headpiece that functioned similarly to her father's helmet, protecting her mind from telepaths.
She created force field stepping stones, moving higher into the air with each jump. Veil honestly didn't know why she had never tried to use her powers like this before - she loved Parkour and this played into it easily. She sent two force fields at the Sentinel, hoping that her sort of energy manipulation would get through, but there was definitely some sort of force field deflecting it. "New plan. Energy manipulations are out. Brute force is in. If we can throw things at it, I think it'll get through." She made another set of force field stepping stones, hopping until she was on solid ground again.
The Sentinel unleashed a huge blast of violet energy, slamming into Veil's force field. If her reflexes hadn't been so fast, it would have killed her. The Sentinel sent another blast at Andy, although Andy would be able to narrowly dodge it thanks to her enhanced reflexes.
Sunshine & Casper

Sunshine was ignoring everything going on around her. She had dragged Magik over to the moth eaten couch in the entranceway, cradling her in her arms as she cried. She had never felt an emotion this deep before. When she and her found family had been sent to prison for a crime they didn't commit, she had sobbed and cried, realizing she would never see them again. But this pain was different. She wanted to trade places with Magik, so that way Illyana could live and see another sunrise.
"Sure, James," Negasonic said, her usual snark and sarcasm gone. She went over to Captain Britain's daughter, putting an arm around her and leading her upstairs to medical. An idea was forming in her head. She had heard Casper babbling about a demon appearing when Magik died. "Glimpse... I need a favor. I need a way for Colossus and I to go visit Excalibur." Excalibur was a British superhero team, led by Captain Britain and Psylocke. They were almost exclusively all mutants and tended to be the experts on things that went bump in the night (beyond the Sorcerer Supreme of course). Nightcrawler and Shadowcat were on the roster, as well as a dragon named Lockheed.
Casper's head was starting to clear, as there was more and more distance put between him and what he had seen. Ben was still incredibly on edge, hovering closer to Casper, as if that could protect him from being dragged to hell or wherever Magik's soul had been taken. "I feel a lot better, babes, I promise," Casper said, sitting down on a bed in medical. "I don't even think I'm going to puke... And my heart isn't hammering, because You-Know-Who isn't around being horrifying."
"I thought Harry Potter was canceled?" Ben asked.
"No, that was the transphobic moron who wrote it. Every minute she's off in a public signing books, she's depriving some village of their idiot," Casper complained. Discussing the fall of JK Rowling was a lot more comfortable than thinking about the horned thing that had dragged Magik away. He shuddered as the images flashed in front of his eyes again. He didn't know if he would be able to sleep ever again. But as long as he could focus on James and how positively cute he was, Casper was safe. He knew James wouldn't let anything happen to him.
"...Babes can I have some Advil? Or Tylenol?" Casper then whimpered, his headache coming back strong. "Or a Xanax? Or Adderall?"

Callie stumbled slightly as she turned around and saw that they were at the old HQ again, at least they were somewhere that wasn't close to any purifiers or corrupt cops. Callie looked at Colossus feeling sorry for him, losing someone was really tough and they had just gotten Magik back to. Callie walked over and helped Max back up to his feet, she hoped that he could get them to their new HQ as soon as possible. "I'm sorry that Sunshine had done that to you we'll deal with it when we get back, if you cant just try and get some rest." Callie reassured him, while looking over at Jack, Sunshine was his daughter after all as well so he'd have to be the one to punish her most likely. If not she would have to do it herself or Veil.
Callie decided to try and comfort Colossus at the moment and made her way over towards him, if he didn't want to talk she would easily understand as well. "Hey, I really am sorry about Magik Colossus.. If you want to blame someone you can blame me, I wish I could have done more." Callie said gently resting a hand on his shoulder to try and comfort him. "If theres anything you need, i'm there to." Callie said, she could if asked make him feel happy again, only if he wanted her to do it.

"Can you not call me Supergirl, my name is Kristina or Kris whichever you prefer really. Or i'll start calling you Flightless Birdman!" Kristina complained, she really didn't like that nickname at all. She watched as he knocked out Polaris with ease which was a good thing then as she watched the Sentinel for a moment and looked down at it's feet hearing what Veil said. Her powers wouldn't really work on it then as she thought for a moment. "If anyone ever watched Star Wars the Empire Strikes Back, try and aim for the feet or legs." Kristina said, hoping that would actually be a fairly good plan that could maybe work as well.
Kristina then fired off an eyeblast at the ground just before it's feet seeing it stumble but regain it's footing, Kristina did it again, but got the same result as well which made her really annoyed, as the parachute came down rather hard killing one of the Sentinel's pilot on impact, and covering Havok in blood wincing slightly. She hated that she was attacking people from SHIELD since her sister Maria worked for them as well, and if her sister found out then that would make things really hard.

"My name isn't sparky." Andy said to the flamboyant guy. He was weird. Well, most of the group was weird. She rolled her eyes and headed over the van that he had vacated. She popped the hood of the van. Andy had never done this before so she wasn't certain if it would even work. She lifted the hood and put the catch so it wouldn't fall on her head. Andy squinted at the engine and other mechanical bits. There was a good chance that she would destroy the car if she overdid it.
She did know that it was the battery that needed energy. Hmmm, she considered as she sipped her coffee. Thankful that she had stolen it. Then popped the covers off the battery and set the coffee on the ground. Andy put one index finger on each of the leads of the battery. She let out a little zap. And then leaned over and tried to start the car. Nothing happened. So a larger zap was needed. She tried again this time letting out a bigger amount of electrical energy that always flowed through her.
When she turned over the engine it worked this time. "Hey, Justin Beiber! I fixed it." There was a bit of pride in her voice. She closed the hood of the van and picked her coffee back up. "I can't drive though so someone else has to get behind the wheel." Was the offer to join them still on the table? Ice lady hadn't used the water from the fire hydrant.

Waverley wasn't going to lie; it extremely awkward to watch the soap opera-esque scenario playing out in front of her, complete with wild accusations and alleged adultery. So she did her best to focus instead on her whistle, which was more important anyhow. She kept a mental hold of it, ready to amplify it when and where it was needed at a moments notice. When an entire half a car was thrown down onto Sapphire, more than a little self-doubt crept into her mind. After all, she'd just discovered this new ability, and now she would be trying to knock half of an entire vehicle out of the way. But with one final push of her whistle, she shoved out all her uncertainty, and amplified the sound under the car. Much to her surprise, it actually worked. The car bounced off her invisible wall of sound and into a nearby alley, which she hoped no one inhabited.
Her eyes went wide with surprise at what she'd just done. She wasn't sure how much exactly a car weighed, but she knew it was enough that even being able to throw half of one was impressive. Her surprised expression turned to a grin as Echo sailed past, congratulating her on her little stunt. She flashed him a quick thumbs up, before registering the sharp pain of her unattended broken arm, which she immediately went back to holding. With Polaris down, she shot a glance over at the young girl who was standing at the edge of the fight, calling out to Sapphire. Waverley looked over to the iceslinger, who she found hadn't seemed to have heard the girl. When it was quickly revealed that energy attacks wouldn't be effective, Waverley sent a nod in the girl's direction.
"Good thinking, Thunderchick!" she called out as the girl ran back towards Echo. She scanned the area for any more fire hydrants; if they were going to do this, they'd best do it big. She managed to catch sight of one more, so, gathering up the soundwaves Echo's song had sent her way, she sent a wave of amplified music to pop them open. It worked, and water immediately began to gush onto the streets. She took a few steps back towards the car, looking over to Sapphire. "Can you make an wall of ice? Or, like, a slippery ice floor for the Sentinel to slip on?" Waverley wanted to think that she sounded assertive and badass, but in reality, that was not the case. Her voice still had an audible tremor in it from falling out of the sky and breaking her arm, and her tone rose at the end of both sentences, turning them into unsure questions rather than confident suggestions.

Sapphire couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief when Polaris ended up knocked out, she really didn't want to find out how the mistress of magnetism would react to her calling her an idiot. She rolled her eyes at Havok with his words, "Ever heard of teasing? Seriously, was trying to annoy your girlfriend on purpose since I figured she was going to continue trying to kill me anyway and it was the best I could come up with, so you are the one who needs to lighten up a bit," she commented towards him, before the pilot from one of the Sentinels ended up going splat. "If you didn't talk so much you wouldn't risk anything flying into your mouth."
Zari looked over at the little soap opera drama that was going on, seriously confused as to who all of these people were and what exactly they were doing in the area. "Gonna say you guys remind me of a soap opera, and I totally wish that I had a bag of popcorn or something to watch this with... Then again don't really watch too many soap operas, but eh, whatever. You guys are more entertaining then them!" she said happily with a smile towards the group, her mind wandering and once more she seemed to forget what exactly was going on around her.
"Ohhhhhhhhh, right, totally spaced on what was going on for a second... Whoopsie!" she said with a slight giggle before she turned her attention towards the robot, and tried to take control of it. It would take her second attempt at it for her to gain control, and even then it wasn't at all stable, meaning whatever she was going to do, she had better do it quickly before she lost it entirely. "Nighty night!" she said happily, before she disabled the Sentinel entirely, smirking slightly at what she had done.
"Oh noooooow you're going to be nice to me! I see how it is!" she responded to the eye, who started beeping loudly at her and she just rolled her eyes.
"Alright, few things that you kids need to understand," Sapphire said, turning to look at Andy and Waverly, clearly looking more then a bit annoyed regarding the whole thing with a water source. "One, clearly there is no need for that, since the Sentinel is already disabled, and two I DON'T NEED A FUCKING WATER SOURCE!!!!!!!" she snapped at them, noticing that they had a car up and running. "Yeah no, not getting in that car yet, there are a few other things I need to deal with and I don't want to be stuck in a car with the guy who thinks he can order people around simply because of who his sister is, and two kids who clearly can't use their damn eyes to realize that water does not help!" she snapped, before she simply walked away from the group. She was planning on seeing about maybe talking to Watts if he was still in the Starbucks. It also would get her faaaaaar away from everyone else.

Jack was slightly glad that Colossus seemed to snap out of his anger, but given what had happened, he wasn't too sure if overall that was a good thing. He knew how much Colossus' sister had meant to him, and he wasn't entirely sure what to really say about things. Sunshine had been way out of line, but she was hurting from Magik's death too, just in her own lashing out sort of way. This whole situation was just bad, horribly bad, and there wasn't much else to say or do about it. They needed to get back to their base, and hope for the best.
"I'm sorry Colossus, and yeah, gonna talk to her later, but just... Probably not today, if you don't mind that... Considering the fact that she flipped out when Magik died too, which I'm guessing is partially why she tried to pin the blame on someone else. But yeah, I'm going to talk to her and hope she doesn't decide to hit me with a cold to add on top of me already feeling not the best," he said to him, nodding his head slightly towards him. He hoped that Max would be able to create another portal to get them back to their actual HQ. Colossus likely just needed to be away from everyone else, and he could do that after they get back hopefully.
Location: Mutant Underground -- Washington D.C. Skills:
It was probably only five minutes later and the portal reopened, the missing Underground members and Max having landed back into the Underground. Luna breathed a little sigh of relief but it wasn’t much with her shallow breath. She looked over at James and grunted. ”Like I’ll be able to keep anything down,” she complained. Of course he could always stick her with a needle. As much fun as that would be. Luna was a bit surprised when Negasonic compiled so easily, but as they climbed the stairs to the bedrooms, it made sense. She wanted something from Luna. Luna looked at Negasonic before grabbing onto the top of the banister when they climbed the last step. She was hit with a wave of dizziness and needed a moment. Not to mention the heavy breathing. She shut her eyes, hoping that would help the dizziness but it only seemed to make it worse. Like being drunk, the room still spun even with eyes closed. "I could try calling him… Or my Aunt. I don’t dare use my telepathy at the moment with all this dizziness and those bloody headaches. But why? What are you thinking?” Luna knew the team her father led well. She had been allowed to sit in on some of their meetings before she left to join the Underground here. Even having gone on a mission with them.
"Its not. Your fault." Max said through gasping breaths. He still lay there, the feeling of the world beneath him swirling like a merry go round. He didn't dare close his eyes or else the feeling would get much worse. He turned his head slightly, looking as his hands and noticing the veins protruding again. His symptoms seemed to have flaired up once more, probably from all the stress that was being thrown at him and his overuse of powers. Max lay there breathing for a moment, short quick breaths as his lungs argued to hold in any air, pained stitching on his sides. "She's. Hurting. Lashing out. But. Emotional. Manipulation. Is not. Ok." Max dug his fingers into the ground, dirt covering them as he used his strength to sit up right. Immediately placing one hand on his left temple in hopes that it would help stop the dizziness.
His attention turned towards Callie, not really wanting to speak to Jack and understanding how Colossus may want to be left alone for a while. Max held up his right hand, staring blankly at the palm as he felt his veins pulse with each heartbeat before placing it back on the ground and looking up towards the sky. "I'm not in good shape. We're...We're lucky. I even. Made it. This far. Ubers. Probably. The best. Bet." His hands were trembling now. Between M-Pox, the attack at the clinic, all his adrenaline, the two portals he had just created and being body checked by Colossus; Max wasn't in the best of shapes to want to attempt another jump. One wrong move and they could end up at thr Hellfire Club, or a Police precinct or inside of Hell and dead. He didn't want to risk it, not while he was like this. Perhaps they could fetch a ride near the Underground and walk the rest of the way.

Echo winced as Havok was splattered by blood and flesh, hair getting into his mouth. That was not a pleasent thought and he was full glad that he wasnt the one on the receiving end of that. He simply shrugged at Kristina as she spoke up about her name. He wasn't sure what was so bad about it, Supergirl had some power behind it but hey Kris would work too. "Good to know you have a name Kris. I'll try and keep that in mind." Her plan seemed simple enough though they didn't exactly have a trip wire so they would need to improvise and hopefully in a way that didn't destroy the area. As he was looking around Waverly seemed to find a hydrant, busting it open to give Sapphire a boost and hopefully end this once and for all. "Nice thinking Waves! I'm sure that'll- Before he could finish his sentence the Sentinel shut down and apparently so did Sapphires manners. His blood wanted to boil, and scream and yell at her but now was not the time nor place.
His hand landed on Waverlys shoulder once more, a stern look upon his face as he shook his head in disagreement to Sapphire. His tone now low but still audible to the rest. [Color=E610B8]"You did well Waverly. You all did an amazing job. His attention fully on the Icey mutant. "You may not need a water source but it could definitely help. I'm sure freezing a geyser like that would be much easier than forming one yourself. What you do need though is to calm down and learn some tact. Pressure is high right now and everyone's doing their best to help each other out and if you can't see that then perhaps you're the kid who needs to understand something. Now I'm going to bring the van around and I hope you make your business quick because I'm sure more backup is on its way. Kris, Belieber, if you wanna hide for a bit and come with feel free to hop in the van." Echo made his way into the drivers seat, driving the car up and allowing anyone who wanted to enter the vehicle. He tapped his finger on the gas meter and watched it hover near the empty side. Pinching the bridge of his nose he looked at the others "We need gas."
“I’m glad you’re feeling better.” James sighed in relief. Clearly he was if he was bantering again with Ben. At least something was looking up. He pressed a light kiss to Casper’s head at his request. “Of course babes. Let me see if I can find something.” James put the medicine the doctor gave them down on a counter while he rummaged around for something that would keep the headache off. It was sometimes hit or miss with this kind of stuff; since it wasn’t on the absolutely necessary list, it was easily overlooked when considering supplies.
As he was looking, the image of Magik dead on the ground and the utter inevitably he felt when he tried to resuscitate her. It was brutal and terrifying. Clearly, anyone who believed death was peaceful was out of their goddamn minds but his thoughts didn’t wander in the direction of the dead but rather the living. Max, Luna, Callie, Jack, Casper… all of them could end up dead, their corpses the only indication anything even happened. Maybe that’s what scared him the most. Their symptoms were completely unpredictable. One second they were vomiting blood and hallucinating and the next they were sitting on a medical bed and complaining about transphobes. And then who knows, the next one could be their last.
James checked over his shoulder discreetly at Casper at that thought before he finally found the tylenol. He portioned it out for Casper and grabbed a cup of water, even if he knew he could dry swallow it, and brought it back over to him. “Here, take that and then it’s time for a shower, a toothbrush, and a change of clothes. Hopefully everyone will be back by then and we can get some food in you guys.” James instructed as he pressed the stuff into his boyfriend’s hands. He looked around, looking for Ben and then laughing at himself before speaking. “How are you holding up, Ben? That must have been awful for you too.”

Colossus looked at Spark Plug, opening his mouth to recite some words of wisdom worthy of Uncle Iroh, but words failed him. A strangled cry or sob was all that came out. It sounded like the dying scream of a goose. He generally was compassionate yet stoic, feeling deeply for others yet keeping those emotions under control. The death of his sister was like a wrecking ball, Colossus' skin constantly shifting back and forth between flesh and organic steel as he collapsed to the ground, his face contorted as he cried uncontrollably.

"I didn't know there would be people guts flying!" Havok snapped back at Sapphire. Polaris hadn't woken up yet which was likely for the best, as she clearly did not want to see Sapphire breathing. He didn't know how things would work out later on when Polaris woke up at the Mutant Underground, but she had been a fighter for freedom and equality for mutants. He assumed that whatever she was doing with the Hellfire Club was just temporary insanity.
Havok didn't really like the newer members of the Mutant Underground any more than Sapphire did, but he wasn't in a position to turn his nose on up. He carried his unconscious girlfriend on over to the car, stepping over Pyro in the process - well, more of stepping on Pyro's face on purpose - before Havok got into the back, buckling Polaris in first before doing himself. "I dare anyone to have a problem with this."
Veil felt like she was about to have one of her veins burst from stress. They had narrowly survived a sentinel attack, Moonwalker had died during the purifier attack, and now people were screaming at each other. She was sadly starting to expect screaming from Sapphire. Part of her wanted to tell Echo that it wasn't his place to discipline Sapphire or that everyone was just lashing out after Moonwalker's death. Maybe they needed to do some team building exercises - like trust falls.
Sapphire rushed off to handle some business and fortunately, Veil's natural perceptive abilities - plus the fact that she had been the one leading this mission - helped her to piece it out. "Sapphire's getting what we need from Dr. Watts," she explained quickly for the others. "He could be the answer to curing M-Pox... to making Moonwalker's death not be in vein." If they came here and left empty handed, Moonwalker's sacrifice would have been for nothing. They couldn't allow that to happen. "Have the van running and everyone who's coming get in - as soon as Sapphire is done, we high tail it back to HQ."
She then got into the car, taking the shotgun seat next to her twin brother. The fire hydrants were continuing to pump water out, creating a small little flood in the road. It was winter in DC so odds were the water would be frozen if it wasn't cleared away by the next morning, making a nice road hazard for the morning rush to George Washington University the next morning. Pyro was currently covered in water, although he was face up so he wasn't in any danger of drowning.
Veil reached into her pocket and pulled out a small bottle of extra strength Advil, popping one of the pills. "Does anyone else want one?" she asked.

"Magik's... It wasn't natural, clearly. That's Excalibur's thing," Negasonic told Glimpse bluntly. She was keeping eye contact for once, not typing away furiously on her phone or scrolling through Tumblr. "So are you going to help me or not, Princess Fancypants?" She breathed in a little hard through her nostrils, some tears in her eyes that Negasonic was forcing to hold back. It was a gamble but maybe they could bring Magik back.
Casper accepted the small cup of water and the medicine from James. He swallowed the pills dry and took the cup of water, pouring it down on his forehead. While he was feeling a lot better, he also felt a bit feverish or perhaps just overheated, so the water helped him to cool down. "There, I showered, babes - if you want me to take a longer one, I'm going to need a buddy to help," he proposed with a smile. He preferred to take baths to showers, mostly since he LOVED bubble bath - especially if rubber duckies were available. "And the toothbrush - is that for my teeth or for something else?"
"Are you up for me talking to James?" Ben asked Casper. He didn't really know if there was much of a point in answering James, having Casper butcher the delivery of it, and then seeing James' confusion. If he couldn't talk to James himself, there wasn't much of a point in trying at all. He did want to talk to someone that wasn't Casper about what he had seen at least. Casper wasn't the best at calming people down.
"I feel greeeeeat," Casper said. "And I just popped a pill, so let's do this! Abracadabra!" He wiggled his fingers like he was casting a spell, but nothing happened. Casper's eyes didn't glow blue. His hands didn't have a soft blue aura. "Sorry Ben, lemme try that again. Maybe... Shazam!" Casper clapped his hands together. His eyes crossed and he hit the ground hard in a dead faint.

Andy felt weird getting into the van. She was certain she had been taught as a little kid not to get into stranger's vehicles. "So what if I like his songs?" Andy snapped at the diva guy. Though as she thought about it she didn't even know if she did like his songs. She wasn't a big music person. The music she was used to was the stuff the boxers would listen to. "Also I have a name too." Andy considered giving the fake name on the ID that Ash had gotten for her. "Call me Andy." She decided. She might as well go by that, and Andy could be short for Andrea.
She rolled her eyes at the ice lady. How was she supposed to know that? She had met the group less than an hour ago. They didn't know everything about her and how her power worked, how should she know theirs? "Who is your sister anyway Justin Bieber? Why does that matter?" She asked the diva guy tilting her head. He hadn't introduced himself either. Andy didn't have names for almost everyone there.

Callie looked over at Max, and nodded towards him slightly he hadn't been feeling well and the portals looked like they over exerted himself quiet a bit. "You did good anyway Max we'll figure out a way to get back." Callie said looking over towards Jack, Veil and the others were still on their mission. "Jack, could you take care of Max and give Veil a call or text see if the others can possibly pick us up again." She hoped that they could, or Max could try creating a portal again, she wasn't sure he could be even up for doing it either, when she turned to Colossus.
Seeing the large man starting to breakdown in front of her made her feel sad, Magik was his sister after all she gently pulled him into a hug. Callie wasn't sure what to even say, what happened back at the clinic with Magik wasn't natural at all. Something else happened there as well she wasn't going to manipulate his emotions at all for this unless he actually asked for it as well. "It's going to be okay Colossus, all of us are here for you.."

Kristina watched the Sentinel finally shutdown closing her eyes she let out a slight sigh that they wont be a problem anymore she watched as one of the newer people started up the van, and then a few seconds later Sapphire snapping at some of the others. She didn't really think that it was necessary at all but everything was a huge mess now as well. Kristina looked around at the destruction that had happened, she pretty much knew that she fucked up her future here and someone probably took a video of her attacking the Purifiers as well to.
But when the flamboyant guy Echo offered them a place to lay low for awhile Kristina knew that she couldn't do much anymore here and Purifiers could possibly come to her dorm or something as well or the police even to try and arrest her. "If you don't mind me joining you guys." Kristina said as she made her way over towards the van, seeing Havok strapping in Polaris, she didn't like that the woman who tried to attack them was joining at all but didn't say anything as she got into the van.

"You people are weeeeeeeeeird, and this definitely is a soap opera! Anyway who are the rest of you people? Why were you here and perfectly fine with jumping into a fight and I'll be honest don't think I really needed too much help with, maybe? I don't know. My idea had been to get away in the crowd or something from the fire alarm, but that was just my thoughts on it, also where are we going? What's going on? Midgard is soooooo weird, then again I've lived on Midgard all my life, just not this Midgard, and why are we going into a van that has no gas? Shouldn't you get a car that can drive farther then the nearest gas station?"
"01011010 01100001 01110010 01101001 00100000 01110011 01110100 01101111 01110000 00100000 01110010 01100001 01101101 01100010 01101100 01101001 01101110 01100111," the eyeball beeped at her and she just rolled her eyes at the robot as she made sure she had her bag and everything (and Mr. Jaws of course) and went over to the car.
"I am not rambling! Ugh, so rude to me! Oh, also, other important questions, what exactly are "the police"? I've never heard of them before, and they were getting in my way from smacking the guy around who had ripped poor Mr. Jaws in half! They are sooooooo annoying! I only know what SHIELD is because my parents were SHIELD agents before I was born, so what exactly are the cops? Since they don't make sense since where I come from the way disputes are settled it with whoever hits the hardest, or whosever friend can hits the hardest. This is going to be a fun adventure, too bad the Norns didn't exactly tell me what exactly I'm supposed to be doing, they always were so cryptic about every little thing that they said!"

Sapphire whirled around and glared right at Echo, "If she wanted to be so helpful then she shouldn't have gotten into a metal death trap, when she clearly saw Polaris use her powers to get the ambulance away, and run over one of her allies, so unless you call that a smart move, who then needed everyone else to save her skin when she decided to jump from the car that was a hundred feet in the air, oh, and let's also mention the fact that I then while saving her skin got hit by said car that Polaris start using as a baseball bat, anything else I'm forgetting to mention?" she snapped back, before she whirled around and went into the Starbucks, her hair turning back to it's standard brown as she entered the building, walking over to Watts and Leda who were still by the couch, her arm was still hanging limply by her side. "So that was fun," she commented as she walked over.
"You look like shit," Leda commented, her father pretty much having patched her up.
"Leda, language," Watts scolded.
"Sorry, you look like bloody shit."
"Leda!"
"Wow you two... Hey Watts, mind seeing if you could pop my arm back into place, I'm lucky I didn't go splat on the pavement and some bruises from a car and a dislocated arm are all I got."
"I'm not sure you could afford me," Watts told Sapphire cynically, before he got up. "What's your favorite color?" he asked her, right before popping her arm back into place effortlessly.
"Hahaha so nice Watts and I don't really have a favorite color and what is the point of that question," she said the last part of her statement was through gritted teeth as pain shot through her arm when he popped it back. "Thanks for that... Anyway, do you have time to talk now?"
"I have a few minutes. I need to get Leda somewhere with better medical equipment so I can finish up however."
"That's helpful, guess I've gotten somewhat used to being around a guy who can heal people with his powers, kind of makes my job as group medic a little obsolete if I'm being honest... Though the reason I wanted to talk to you was, if it wasn't obvious from what I asked you before all hell broke loose, about M-Pox... A lot of people I know have it, and I'm one of the lucky people who don't... Was wondering if you knew a way I could help them since I've been doing the best that I can and nothing seems to be working," she admitted.
Watts thought for a moment. "If your guy can heal my daughter and make it so her wound doesn't scar, I'll be able to focus on your M-Pox issue. I can make some calls, see what the current status is, maybe even get you some proto cures..."
"I think that can be done, don't think he'd mind healing her. And thanks... We've kind of have been up a creek without a paddle trying to figure out what to do... Anything you can do to help would be appreciated..."
"Well you've come to the right guy. I am, after all, the most gifted bioengineer, chemist, and mechanical engineer to grace the Earth."
"So you've reminded me a million times before."
"And I will a million times again."
"Dad," Leda groaned.
"Think she can be moved? We can bring you back to our HQ, since not sure if the cops want us hanging around here much longer considering the explosions, the fire, the destruction that wasn't exactly our fault and I totally blame the people who decided to show up and cause problems for it..."

Jack shot a glare at Max, since he wasn't feeling the best either, and if looks could kill Max would likely burst into flame and die at the moment. Who was he to talk about what he should and shouldn't do? He wasn't really old enough to figure that sort of stuff out yet, so why did he think that he could give him parenting advice. "Thanks for the advice, but next time don't give any unless you are asked for it, I know what I'm doing, and snapping at her for it right now when she's lashing out is essentially suicide, but then again you probably don't realize that and are just pissed off since she hates you as much as you hate her, but that's just my opinion on it," he said, before he dropped it, since Colossus clearly needed to be not having to deal with this sort of thing at the moment.
Everything was going to hell, and he couldn't think of anything to really say towards Colossus to hopefully make him feel better. His head was starting to pound, as if he had a massive headache, and his mind kept going towards Max and how pissed off at him he was at the moment. Jack thought nothing of the headache, figuring it just went along with the dizziness he was feeling from M-Pox. Nothing really was working straight in his head, and he felt horrible, figuring it had to do with the disease though, nothing really happened, at least that's how things seemed like at first.
Max however was another story. There would be a massive spike of pain shoot through his head that clearly wasn't a part of M-Pox. The pain wasn't leaving, and it was almost like someone had jabbed a spike into his head with how painful the experience was. The pain had seemingly come out of nowhere.

Max looked over towards Colossus. Seeing the metallic mutant in such a fragile state was wrecking and hard. Max truly felt for the man, tears choking up in his throat as he decided to look away from the scene so as to not further push the envelope. His ears perked up as Callie told him he did good. He was honestly surprised, a single tear escaping as he quickly brushed it aside so that no one would notice. Someone in the Underground actually felt he did good for once. Sure James did but he was hopelessly sweet. Max debated trying to sleep on the cold hard ground outside. Gaining some strength until either a rode arrived or he could muster up another portal for them to travel through. He finally felt useful. That is until Jack spoke up. Max had no idea what he was talking about. He had hardly given him any advice on how to scold her, hell he didn't even know why it fell to Jack to scold her aside from the fact that he was older. He was just stating that what she did was wrong and needed to be brought up and reprimanded and Max was fairly certain Jack would end up waving it under a rug.
As he sat there, head dizzy and symptoms seemingly platoing, Max was about to lay down when suddenly there was a spike in pain. His head felt as if there was a large needle being shoved straight through his skull. He quickly gripped his head and fell over on his side, curling up into the fetal position. Max began screaming in agony as the pain persisted and caused his whole body to contort. As ge lay there on his side, eyes closed and hands clenched around his head, all he could think about was being in his bed back at the New Underground. He wanted to be there with James and the drugs and anything that could make this pain go away. The cold ground seemed to fade away for a second, as if the air around him grew colder but almost instantly it warmed up and the ground softened. He let out another scream of pain until suddenly...the pain was gone. His muscles relaxed and his body lay there limp for a moment, eyes still clenched shut. His breaths came back, still short, his head spinning from the lain and M-Pox, and when Max finally opened his eyes he was in his room at the Underground.
He had no recollection of getting there, or using his powers. He just...was. His eyes looked about lazily as he tried to make sense of it all, figuring he either died, was hallucinating from M-Pox, or something unexplainable happened. Tears began to well up again as panic set in. His voice catching in his throat as he was barely able to muster out a confused yell "James?"

Echo looked at his sister quizitively, one eyebrow cooked up into a perfect arch. "I'll gladly take one if possible. I can already tell I'm going to need one." He said half joking half rolling his eyes towards Sapphire. His gaze trailed away from her and towards Andy who had finally spoken up about her name. "Pleasure to hear it Andy. I'll try and keep that remembered as well. You can call me Echo. As to who my lovely sister is, that would be my twinsie Veil right there. She's the leader of this group and the angry Elsa is Sapphire who I think either is second in command or likes to believe so. Either way she can be touchy. I don't mind it as much because its all water off a ducks back but I'm not tolerant of people just yelling at random people, especially kids, for no good reason." Echo spoke low enough so that only those within the car could hear, there was no need to have someone blow and icicle.
He turned and nodded towards Kristina, his sunglasses falling down onto his face as he did so. "The more the merrier! Unless its more Purifiers or Sentinels then the less the merrier." There was a forced laughter as he spoke, clearly wanting to lighten the mood when the emerald Valkyrie just...talked. Oh my gosh did she talk. His head was spinning from the vomit of words that spewed until she finally stopped. Echo just smiled and nodded not wanting to unpack all of that, hoping literally anyone else would be able to. While Sapphire went on her verbal tirade, Barry went ahead and placed Moonwalkers body inside the car as well. They were not going to be leaving him behind. Once it was finished all the clones were undone. Letting Sapphire vent and rant as he tilted his glasses halfway down the bridge of his nose watching her walk away. "Dont let that discourage you. You all did amazing out there and I couldn't of asked for a better team to work with."

Waverley visibly flinched backwards as Sapphire began to yell at her, her entire body tensing up. Her shoulders shrugged up against her ears, and she shuffled backwards a few steps as the pale-haired woman hounded her. Her face, which had previously been, to some degree, sharp and determined with the excitement of being useful was instead doe-eyed and hurt. Her backwards shambling was eventually stopped by a hand on her shoulder, which, when she looked over, she found belonged to Echo. Despite his late arrival to the group, he was quickly rising on her list of favorite Mutant Underground members.
She relaxed under his grip as he shed validation on her, and defended her against the torrent of angered yelling Sapphire threw her way. She had been trying to help. She assumed having some water to work with would help, even if it wasn't necessary. And as far as the car went, she had no way of knowing Polaris would be able to lift it up so high into the air. There hadn't been time for a briefing before the fight, and she didn't recognize the woman like she had recognized the other two. Though perhaps, she admitted to herself, running over Pyro was a bit much. Having had a power that was more useful for utility than combat, she always just made due with whatever was around.
She shot a glance over at Pyro, hoping the rise of his chest would be obvious and apparent, but she had no such luck. She looked back to Sapphire, walking away from the group, and part of her wanted to speak up, defend herself, but her anxiety held her back. Instead, she simply stood there, her clothes and body getting damp to fit her mood. The cold would be setting in soon, so she turned to head to the van, only to hear Veil speak up suggesting the do just that. But something else she said caught her attention.
"Cayden's not dead. One of the Echos got him to the ambulance. We're gonna have to pick him up later, and we'll have to do something about the bill, but it'll be worth it," Waverley replied a bit too confidently to be sincere, especially from a girl who was usually too nervous to tell the fast food place they got her order wrong. She was still denial, it seemed. Still, she climbed into the van, taking the first available seat. Glancing back in the van, she caught sight of Cayden's lifeless body. She didn't stare at him long enough to determine there was no more life in him, instead whirling her head to look at Echo in the passenger seat. "I-I thought you were going to take him to the ambulance. I don't think he'll be able to make it back to James!"

”Yes, I will give them a call and see…” Luna cut off when she felt a great lurch in her stomach and moved away from Negasonic right before she vomited again. Blood. She stared at the blood on the ground after and sighed. ”Shit.” Her symptoms had climbed again. When she realized she swore, she started to giggle like a five year old and looked at Negasonic, covering her mouth as she giggled and started to repeat the word over and over again. She toppled forward and climbed up the remaining steps with the help of her hands and then she promptly sat down, staring down the stairs at nothing in particular. The giggling suddenly stopped and she looked at her shoulder, feeling a cold, wetness there. She touched the spot on her shoulder and her fingers came back red. ”When did I go paint-balling?” She looked at Negasonic seriously, hoping for an answer. Her head was feeling heavy and light as she started to loose more blood and from trying to keep thinking rationally. Negasonic had asked her do something. Luna's stomach rolled again and she leaned over, throwing up more blood.

James really needed to remember his boyfriend’s impulsiveness when he did things. Of course he wouldn’t just pass on the message. Who in the world needed to do something that simple? James couldn’t help the fond exasperation that he felt for Casper. He was cute when he was trying so hard but the fact remained he was sick with a potentially deadly condition. They had no idea what caused it to get worse but he seriously doubted Tylenol would protect him from the effects if he strained himself. James was about to tell him to stop, explain that just because he denied having M-Pox didn’t mean it wasn’t true, but instead his heart stopped as Casper fainted.
He felt his breath catch in his throat and he froze like a deer in headlights as Magik hitting the ground flashed in front of his eyes. Casper’s words rang in his ears. There was no way he was dead. He didn’t have the same symptoms as Magik. He just had a headache. That was all. Just a headache. No vomit, no bleeding, no hallucinations. He felt heavy as the moment stretched out into years and all he could think about was that cold, inescapable nothing that seemed to be everywhere he looked. Still James couldn’t bring himself to move even as everything in him screamed at him to do so and years stretched into eons…
Then time snapped abc and he was scrambling. There wasn’t much distance to close but it felt so much longer. He yanked Casper into his arms, checking for anything, any sign of life. James let out a shaky sigh of relief and carefully laid Casper on the bed. Everything must have finally caught up with him. It had been a long day. He’d give Casper a sponge bath and get him changed later so at least he wouldn’t wake up feeling any worse than he already was.
“Guess we’ll have to check in later then Ben. But at least he’s okay.” James apologized to the ghost. He pressed another kiss to his boyfriend’s forehead and headed out to grab a clean pair of clothes for Casper.
A sound from Max’s room made him pause. He thought he heard Max’s voice but he hadn’t heard anyone else come back. He was expecting some angry words being tossed around after Sunshine pulled her little stunt. He paused at Max and Echo’s room, only two doors down from medical, pushed it open, and poked his head in. James frowned at Max laying on his bed, stepped out of the room, looked around, and looked back in. Yep. Max was indeed still there. He wasn't dreaming. He blinked, shook his head, and made his way in to kneel next to Max's bed.
“Hey, hey. You’re okay, you're home. What’s going on? Where are the others?” James asked softly.

"Spasibo, Spark Plug," Colossus said quietly. His voice sounded like grave. His tears had finally run out, as he slowly managed to regain composure for a moment. Colossus' grief was hitting him like waves rocking a ship - sometimes he was able to stay steady, other times he was slammed down onto the deck and left at the mercy of the raging ocean. Despite his grief, he managed to perfectly see what had happened with Max.
"...Bamf..." Colossus muttered. "Max has the gift of Nightcrawler." He sniffed the air slightly. "With less smell."
Veil
Location: George Washington University: the Street Skills: N/A
Veil quietly committed the names of the new mutants to memory as she heard them. Andy was the electricity manipulator who continued to compare her brother to Justin Bieber, most likely unaware that Echo was indeed Canadian. Had she not been reeling from the emotional shock of losing Moonwalker, she might have joined in on ribbing Echo. The young green haired technopath with the floating eyeball was vomiting words, uttering question after question without giving anyone a chance to address them. Veil couldn't even keep track of them all, so she decided to just give her the IMBD plot summary of what had just happened.
"We're the Mutant Underground. We rescue mutants in trouble and get them to safety. We were here trying to get information on M-Pox, only to come out and find some sort of brawl. The cops hate mutants and assume we're behind everything, they'd lynch us without hesitation. The Purifiers are basically humans who also want us dead. The Sentinel was S.H.I.E.L.D. property, they're mutant killing machines, specifically designed to snap our necks or imprison us without fair trial. And the other mutants who showed up are part of the Hellfire Club, basically a bunch of rich mutants who see violence as the only answer and don't care about the collateral damage."
"Polaris isn't part of them," Havok insisted stubbornly. The Mistress of Magnetism was still out cold, with Havok keeping a protective arm around her. He hadn't really thought things through, preferring to just sort of force reality to be what he wanted it to be and damn the consequences. He loved Polaris after all - he didn't believe she was evil in any shape or form. It had to be some sort of trick, some brainwashing done to her by Mastermind or Emma Frost or someone. Sometimes he honestly believed that telepathy was an inherently corrupting power.
"Sapphire is second in line to inherit leadership of our cell - Spark Plug is first," Veil added, ignoring Havok. "It's then Colossus, Havok, and... well, it had been Moonwalker next." She sighed sadly, forcing herself not to tear up at the thought of Moonwalker's life being snuffed out. Waverley seemed to be taking it pretty hard. She made a mental note to ask Sapphire if they had any medicine on hand to help her sleep, Feedback would probably be needing it.

"At least you had the decency to do this near medical," Negasonic muttered with a sigh. She glanced around before she found a trash can and presented it over to Glimpse. "Wait," she said. There was a sharpie on one of the shelves in medical which she grabbed and brought on over. She drew a makeshift skull and crossbones on the bin, labeling it BIOHAZARD. "There. Feel free to empty your blood into there. I don't think it's recyclable."
Meanwhile, Casper found himself in the midst of what had to be either a dream or a strange out of body experience. He was standing in medical, looking at himself on the bed. He glanced to his left and his right, spotting Ben. "Hey Ben! Am I dreaming?" Casper asked. "Or is this like Avatar when Aang would go into the spirit world? They don't have bathrooms there do they? Because I think I need to pee... Can ghosts pee? WAIT AM I DEAD? Did I die?"
"Uh... You're not dreaming. Honestly, can your powers get any weirder?" Ben asked, looking at Casper puzzled. "I think... I think your soul fell out of your body or something? Maybe because you tried to channel me, you accidentally... did the reverse and brought yourself over to the other side?"
"Hmm, that sounds like some bullshit from the writer's room in a bad superhero comic," Casper pointed out. In retrospect, most of his life seemed like something out of a comic book. His father was the world's worst father and best telepath, a horrible mixture. His mother was a member of Magneto's Brotherhood. One of his brothers was missing and the other was addicted to doughnuts. His only sister was on Muir Island receiving treatment. Oh, and he had a niece who wasn't that much younger than his brother thanks to time travel mishaps.
"Well you haven't done drugs in a while, maybe your powers are getting stronger," Ben suggested. He was genuinely confused, staring at Casper as Casper walked through the door and emerged in the hallway where Negasonic was tending to Glimpse. Casper's eyes widened with delight. "I can walk through walls? That's so cool!" Casper gushed.
He ran down the hall and slammed on through door after door, walking through walls and just enjoying this sort of out of body experience. Ben struck his palm against his head, shocked with his friend's choice of activity. Casper eventually stumbled on Max and James. "Hey, stay away from my man!" he shouted. As he looked at Max, there was a flickering afterimage as Feedback's mother appeared.
